I think we all need to appreciate Angelina Johnson just a bit more
Like, first of all (and most of all) she's just an all around badass. She doesn't get enough recognition. One of the best players on the quidditch team and besties with all the guys... she's seriously my idol. Get it, girl 💪 go queen 😎
And ALSO.
It just occurred to me how much I nEED a story of her and George's relationship after the battle of hogwarts. Like how they were able to establish a healthy, long lasting relationship through both of their mourning processes, because angelina was close to fred too. obviously not the same as george, but the three were best friends all through school, and probably afterwards.
I just need to know how this powerhouse of a woman was able to get through to george and show him unconditional love after he suffered such a huge loss. And how they bonded over shit that they went through and-
I just need details, okAy??

I don't think jkr knows shit about losing a loved one. all her talk about george "never being the same" and never being able to produce a patronus after fred dies is absolute bs
no, you're not the same. not in some ways. but that doesn't mean you can't move on and become your own person again.
fred and george did everything together, that's true. and he would mourn and he would feel like he loat part of himself, because in a way he did.
but humans are resilient.
george is a strong person and he has a tight-knit family that he loves more than anything and he has friends and he has angelina, and later he has children, and fred will always live in his memory and yes, he'll have moments where the pain is just too much and he won't know if he can go on anymore...
but he moved on and healed enough to name his child fred.
I refuse to believe he wallowed in misery for the rest of his life. that's absolutely the last thing fred would have wanted him to do.
they may have been inseparable, but there's a process to mourning, and no- he wouldn't have been the same for a long time. for years, he would have covered all the mirrors in his house with sheets. he would have locked the door to the shop and sat down with a bottle of firewhiskey and cried into his glass until the world spun and the pain numbed.
but...
he healed.
he really did heal.
it took time. lots of time. but mourning and grieving is a process, and he refused to just give up. he would keep going and find happiness in other places and he would honor fred's chaotic legacy in the best possible way, by reopening the shop and clearing out fred's old room and only stopping to cry a handful of times.... and he would tell his kids about their uncle and all the crazy pranks they used to pull.
he spent lots of time with ginny and with ron and with charlie and bill... and even percy. he married angelina and had children he was immeasurably proud of and who he loved with every single part of himself. and he loved them even more in place of their uncle.
it took time, but wounds heal. they really do.
jkr got it wrong. what she says is a load of crap
it doesn't work like that. george is okay, he's happy, and he's looking forward to reuniting with his brother again someday.

Fred and George Weasley were some of the smartest characters in the entire Harry Potter series and I need people to appreciate this.
Think about it. At the very least, they started inventing products when they were FIFTEEN, despite their lack of materials and money, and they succeeded. Again and again and again.
By seventeen, we know they had created approximately 10 products FROM SCRATCH. Trick wands, canary creams, ton tongue toffee, nosebleed nougat, puking pastilles, fainting fancies, fever fudge, portable swamp, headless hats and their range of fireworks.
S E V E N T E E N.
And what they’ve achieved isn’t exactly simple, either. Ludo Bagman said he hadn’t seen a trick wand as convincing as theirs in years. Flitwick kept part of their Portable Swamp in the east corridor because he thought it was a really good bit of magic. The Ministry of Magic ordered 500 of their Shield Hats for their support staff.
They were legit geniuses, but because their focus wasn’t on school and exams, it was overlooked by practically everyone. We only get a few moments where their efforts are acknowledged, and most are from Hermione.
In Order of the Phoenix, she doesn’t know how they succeeded in making the headless hats ( “How do those hats work then? I mean, obviously it’s some kind of Invisibility Spell, but it’s rather clever to have extended the field of invisibility beyond the boundaries of the charmed object…”)
In Half-Blood Prince when they visit Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, she calls their Patented Daydream Charms extraordinary magic.
How many other characters in the series would have been able to achieve what they did? Not one.
There were a lot of smart characters, but Fred and George were innovative, creative and determined. They were unstoppable and I’ll be damned if I let people keep thinking that they were ‘just pranksters’ when they had a wildly successful business by eighteen that they built with only Harry in their corner to believe in them.

for the life of me I can't find the dang thing now, but I saw a forum of someone talking about the book character's heights
and like... I adore the movie characters and the casting. I absolutely do. They could not have been more perfect.
but also.... consider this.
fred and george, roughly 6 feet tall (they were slightly shorter than ron, who was taller than harry, who was the same height as his dad, who was described as being super tall, so I'm just gonna average it out and say ron is 6'2" and fred and george are therefore 6'-ish, since they still shrunk when they drank the polyjuice potion in DH)
AND they're beaters.
I just saw a tik tok video someone made about how strong beaters have to be and how they have to physically smash those bludgers while staying on their brooms and also while protecting the other players, so they're probably built like actual linebackers.
AND in the book, fred and george are described as being stockier than ron, who is canonically very lanky
MY POINT IS. tall, stocky, redhead, freckled, muscle-y as hell, not ripped but strong as a draft horse fred and george
i wish i wish i WISH i had some drawing skills to make this vision i have come to life. Because I didn't think i could be mORE in love with them but HERE WE ARE
i-
