Hello! I was trying to figure out how to make the futaba shirt and you were the only one who accurately made it... and I was wondering how you got the design?

I actually made the design myself by referencing the artwork. If you’d like, I can follow up later and post the black and white design, when I have access to my cosplay files.

I printed this out onto freezer paper (do this only if you’re sure your printer can handle it – otherwise you’ll get persistent jamming), then cut out the black bits to make a nice stencil! :)

Hi, could i ask if the red spongy part of futabas headphones recoloured? Can I ask you what you used and how you did it? It looks great!

Thanks!! It's recolored. I just used plain old acrylic in several layers on top of the "foam" from cheap dollar store headphones

Hmm honestly I can't remember. I can check later to see if I still have the original box. But! I bought the base at Five Below for about $5

2016 Year End Cosplay Review!

This year was .. interesting, to say the least. Some highs and a very decent amount of lows. Now that things are on the upswing and very excellent, I am able to do more and more of my favorite hobby which gives me a lot of joy.

At this time last year, I had started working on Malon, finishing it in time for PAX South. Next, the "Dancing all Night" version of Chie made a debut at Club Cosplay. Over the summer, I worked on Futaba (Persona 5) with plans to debut at PAX South 2017. Lastly, simultaneously around Halloween, I made my large milestone with Eowyn (incomplete, but getting there) and Misty from Pokemon.

In little bits and pieces, I have also worked on some cosplays I'm tossing around in my mind for 2017. Mighty Switch Force (hopefully) to debut also in January, Zelda (Skyward Sword, summer / swimsuit) for February.

Nausicaa, Riza Hawkeye, and Captain Amelia are all "nice to haves", with my major project being the completion of Eowyn's Dernhelm armor, to be debuted at Denver Comic Con in June.

I am also hoping to gather better photos of various cosplays I have made in the past, so I don't have this assortment of homemade selfies.

Other goals in 2017 relate to adding more effects into cosplays -- better techniques of lights, motors, and "real" materials (leather, wood, metal), and computer science (Arduinos, 3d printing, and so on). If not in my cosplays, to help others in their endeavors.

More importantly, I'm still in this to have fun and to keep on keeping on. Thanks for all the support!

Okay, so not a lot of progress pictures on the helmet, I’ll admit. Basically I just busted this out and forgot to document everything. But this is the current milestone.

First off, HATE the top ridge. I’ll keep this for my Halloween celebrations, but I’m planning on ripping it out and doing it again.

I will also add more studs.

The perimeter of the helmet is all hand carved foam, as well as the front and side guards. The horse head is 3D printed, and the back chainmail is leftover rug pad from my chainmail tunic.

Overall super pleased with the progress~

C-c-c-combo breaker! Last minute Pokemon themed cosplay for The PokéBall - a Pokémon themed costume party.

$5 thrift store finds plus less than an hour worth of work: Misty. For clubbing purposes, I always look for characters in which I don’t necessarily need a wig.
