I wrote in 2017
That I'd turn you into
A fading metaphor
To forget our memories,
I sowed them in troublesome soil
And so would grow diamonds tomorrow.
Spring 22, the cherry trees have blossomed.

I bear my scattered heart of glass
wearing an armor of silence
it's not bulletproof
bullies aren't just clumsy
jokes aren't just funny
cracks in the vase
all over where
they're never
sorry

Tumblr media Tumblr media
heavy this bulletproof jacket, and stiff around the neck, too,
solid, the legs soldier on
the face,
freeze,
but fight never kicks in, instead, adults told the child to forgive offenders, and she blames it on Jesus to this day when she takes a second hit in the face, they called it
forgiveness
and they said it was not the bad children's fault, but someone else's fault — someone's fault at least, yes and someone else must do something, but the bullets kept coming, and so the adults said it was the other parents' fault, bad parenting - bad children, yes, and why aren't the bad parents doing anything, bullets kept coming, so the parents called the other parents petty names, bullets
after lost bullets
now she's
precisely
merciless
