the seven + a few others future headcanons

percy:

becomes a high school teacher

teaches high school marine biology (idk how it is in other schools but when we hit sophomore year we got to choose different bio classes ie: marine bio, ag bio, med bio + regular bio)

also teaches the mythology elective and is the swim team coach

annabeth:

we already know this queen is an architect with obvious inspiration from greek architecture

learns how to make blue food for percy and their kids from sally

has traveled all over the world looking at different architecture

learns the basics of many languages so shes able to communicate with the locals

her and leo team up to build a small school near camp half-blood for year rounders so everyone can learn consistently but dw they get summers off

piper:

love her but shes a nepo baby

she doesnt act like it tho

he’s still the ‘happy go lucky’ guy hes always been but as he gets closer w the others they start to see the true sadness in him

piper and him grow a lot closer after jason died and have a big sister little brother relationship

her and frank also dont work out as a romantic relationship, they felt that the age gap was too much after frank turned 18 and hazel was 15 theyre still friends tho

as much as leo reminds her of sammy, through therapy she has recognized that theyre separate people and to not push all her past feelings for sammy onto leo

not only does she train horses but she also teaches little kids basic math, science, and history to the younger kids

they all call her ms. hazel

she prefers to teach the really young kids (age 4-7)

i relate to frank a lot personality wise

therefore i think hed be a 4/20 fanatic after BOO

hes not stoned during training or during important camp duties

but otherwise you try talkin to him and you dont really notice until you look and see the far off look and red eyes and he just goes “huh?”

other than that hes a great leader

after he gets his cool new look from mars he takes really good care of his body including consistent exercise and eating really healthily (maybe he has a soft spot for fast food when hes hi)

him joining the military does not make sense to me

he lost his mom to war, and he was in one himself, idk about you but i would not wanna join the military after being the main character in a war

he studies to be a veterinarian for exotic animals

when no one is around he shifts into the animal to find out whats wrong

“What’s an NFT, and Why is it bad?”

Hi Everyone! I’ve had some people reach out to me today about NFT’s, and why it’s bad that Gorillaz is involved. So I’ve decided to compile a ton of info in a post for people who are confused, and tips on how to help!

TL;DR: Gorillaz have announced that they are producing NFTs, a form of crypto currency attached to digital art that wastes more energy than most people’s homes do in a year. 

What is an NFT?

An NFT (non-fungible token), also known as Cryptoart, is a unit of unique data that represents a digital item, typically digital art, music, videos, and other digital files. Basically, think of it like a Bitcoin that is linked to or attached to a .jpg. 

It’s complicated, but in theory, it’s meant to be like fine art auctions, but for digital art. However, buying an NFT does NOT give you ownership of the file, or even exclusive access to the file. Anyone else can view and save the original image/file. All the buyer gets is the unique digital metadata that is attached to it. 

Here is a video by the Wall Street Journal that does a good job of breaking down what an NFT is.

Why is it bad?

NFT’s are controversial for several reasons. 

For one, you do not need to prove that you are the original artist or creator of the digital art to tokenize it. That basically means that anyone can take your digital art and sell it as an NFT. Shitty, I know.

It is an incredibly inaccessible and fluctuating market, and works like a pyramid scheme. (linked is a very good infographic on the topic by Cabeza Patata on Instagram.)

However, the most damning and negative side effect is its environmental impact. Because of the large amount of computing power needed to create NFTs, an INSANE amount of energy is used, creating a LOT of pollution. An UNETHICAL amount of pollution.

To quote this article by Uproxx, “In one instance, the 10 seconds it took […] to sell six NFTs consumed 8.7 megawatt-hours of energy, comparable to the amount of electricity used by a household in a single year.”

It’s hard to explain exactly HOW or WHY it uses so much power, so here are some articles that do a better job of explaining it than I can:

What does this have to do with Gorillaz?

Yesterday, Gorillaz announced that they would be collaborating with Superplastic to produce products for their 20th anniversary, including NFTs.

This is a huge kick in the face due to the fact that Gorillaz has always produced music preaching environmental consciousness, and is deeply disappointing to fans. It’s hard to say if Jamie or Damon are fully aware of NFT’s impact, but regardless, it is a huge blow to the message of Gorillaz.

What can I do about it?

**DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO GORILLAZ OR SUPERPLASTIC.** DONT EVEN STREAM THEIR MUSIC. DO NOT SUPPORT GORILLAZ FINACIALLY UNTIL THEY ADDRESS THIS IN A MEANINGFUL WAY.

Instead, you can:

Support Gorillaz fan artists by commissioning them or buying their prints!

Buy any Gorillaz merch second hand/used (but take care to avoid scalpers.)

Here is a petition for Gorillaz to cut ties with Superplastic and stop production of NFTs!

Support organizations like The Climate Emergency Fund, The Clean Energy Innovation program, and other organizations fighting climate change.

Spread the word! Share this Post! Stay informed! Make sure everyone knows about the impacts of NFTs! This should go beyond the sphere of the Gorillaz fandom!

I’VE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I HATE OLD PEOPLE STORY TIME

So for background purposes I work at a certain pizza place I’m not gonna name it and it’s only local to where I’m from so you’ll never find it. Where I’m working for COVID stuff we’re doing delivery and curb side pick up.

So this lady, we’re gonna call her old bat for now. Ordered a thing of potatoes, just that nothing else. It’s cool, we love orders like that escpecially because we were slammed that day. But then old bat and her husband get there, we’re calling old bats husband, old meanie because that’s what he was.

I show up to their car so they can pay. Old bat then says “I saw people eating” and I said “that’s gross I’ll tell them to stop” and it was good. I told the kitchen “hey stop eating someone’s watching through the windows” and everyone in the kitchen denied they were eating, in fact, the only food that was out was for the customers not us.

Moving on from that I go out to give old bat and old meanie their potatoes. And old meanie goes “I saw people eating in their, that’s not a good look for you guys” and old bat says “yeah we’re just gonna throw this away” and that was fair, if they didn’t like how their food was dealt with that’s all good. I told the manager and once again people denied they were eating.

Our manager then calls them, and asks who it was, they said they were blonde. Old bat and old meanie also said they were gonna post it on social media...

Later, our manager gets in trouble because ‘she let us eat’ which is bull because it’s a rule that you’re not allowed to eat while on the clock AND our general manager looked at the camera footage. Guess who ate.... NOBODY. Nobody ate anything, not from customers food, not from the pizza line, not from their own food NOTHING.

In conclusion I hate old people
