For some sensitive skin HEARTLEAF may cause skin reaction if they are allergic. So if you are a beginner and not sure if you are allergic to anything I recommend trying THE FACE SHOP RICE WATER BRIGHT LIGHT CLEANSING OIL. I myself started out with THE FACE SHOP, and it worked wonders on my skin. As for why I tried the ANUA Cleansing Oil you can say I was easily " Influenced " as it is getting viral and thankgod I was not allergic to it as my sister was even if I have mild sensitive skin.

Water/Gel-Based Cleansers:

Once again Like the Cleansing Oil, I love the ANUA HEARTLEAF QUERCETINOL PORE DEEP CLEANSING FOAM. It helps get rid of my Blackheads and Whiteheads and also helps reducing my pores. Once again like the Cleansing Oil if you are allergic to HEARTLEAF or have super sensitive skin or if you do not know what you are allergic to then I recommend the THE FACE SHOP RICE WATER BRIGHT FOAMING CLEANSER . I used THE FACE SHOP cleanser starting out and during that time I had very sensitive acne prone skin. This facewash actually helped me with my acne by removing the access oil from my skin but also by retaining the hydration leaving my skin soft and smooth.

Do not touch your skin!!!

Face wash + moisturiser + SPF are the basics and all you really need.

SPF comes in many forms, choose one you find more comfortable (lotion, spray, stick), but remember you might need to use more spray to achieve the same effect as with lotion.

Start simple and only when you establish a routine, start adding more other products.

Try to work out your skin type! There's dry, oily, normal, combination, sensitive.

Dry skin is a type, dehydrated is a condition.

When using actives (retinol, AHA, BHA, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Vitamin C) it's better to start off wiith lower concentration and build it up, so as not to shock your skin.

Retinol - you don't need to start using it during your teenage years, as you don't really need it yet. Focus on other aspects of skincare and come back to retinol in your mid-twenties.

Nourish yourself from the inside - stay hydrated! Water is always good, I also have been hearing how peppermind/spearmint tea could help reduce irritation and help blemishes through it's antiseptic properties. FYI - with teas etc, the effect might not be shocking or immediate, but when having a choice between staying dehydrated and getting some tea in - which is better?
