Flower breathing dragon. It arrives at the end of winter to clear the snow and restore warmth to the earth. Wherever it blows it’s heated breath, ice melts, the ground is watered, and spring flowers burst to life. The process is magical and instantaneous, so it really does look like it’s breathing flowers.

Sandy Love
Midnight drives on muted streets,
Flowers on the porch with letters to read
Giggling under messy sheets,
Living in the moment before we’re freed
Long walks by the beach with our favorite hues,
Singing songs, struggling to hide a smile
Keeping each other company, we’ve got nothing to lose
Yours and mine but only for a while
Hiding under the veil of dusk and dawn,
Embracing the beauty of this interlude
Always fleeting, let’s dance before it’s gone
Erased right before they’re viewed
No one knows about us or the places we’ve been to
Time spent and memories shared, all temporary but true
Both witness to a prelude, there’s nothing to break
Taught how to build sand castles, washed away before we wake

You can never really go back to the same waters. Not only are you no longer the same, but neither are the waters you left. The current has changed. The elements of nature have affected the stream. When you return, although it appears the same, it really is a different river and you are a different person. Therefore, you cannot cross the same river twice.

It’s true that nothing has the potential to hurt so much as loving someone, but nothing heals like it either.

I just love the thought that great things are coming. No matter what you’re going through, there’s so much to look forward to.

“We need people in our lives with whom we can be as open as possible. To have real conversations with people may seem like such a simple, obvious suggestion, but it involves courage and risk.”

Stranger Ocean, Stranger Waves
Sending it adrift, the message in the bottle returned at once
Always back at shore the moment it set sail, betting on a chance
Veiled with a cloud of doubt, the letter itself became vague
Eventually, the bottle was shelter for a storm, a sealed plague
Longing for what cannot be reached, the writer also became the receiver
Offering only to oneself, whatever brewed was swallowed by the sender
Serenity at a cost, words were always kept at bay
Eating from the inside, a sight one wouldn’t dare display
