Mammon Assassin AU

It was another mission, another murder. Another work which had to be done for money or to keep himself from exploding of rage. Of everything happening around him. A few days ago Lucifer had been bitching about his mistakes and he did fight back. He did tell him what he felt, but did that matter anymore? Probably not. Hell, his own brothers did not love him.
Was it true that he was a mistake? Was it true that it would have been better if he had died? Would it be better? If Lilith was here, so many things would have been better.
So, he decided to do what he wanted too. He ran away, yes he did run away from his brothers and family. Why remain in a place where no one gives a shit about you? What is the purpose of it in the first place? He did continue his job, which had been slightly more demanding considering his new location. But that was ok, it was ok, he was living, he was fine. Everything was fine.
He would also live like a nomad sometimes just in case someone would get to know about all this killing. Though he was still a model and had managed to keep his records clean.
Everything was fine until it wasn't. It was almost night when he saw his brother in months. It wasn't Lucifer of course, his pride was too much but, it was Beel. They did have a 'chat' but not a very pleasant one.
“... Look. I missed you. I missed all of this. This life, I wasn’t supposed to be taken away from it the way I was.” It was true what he was speaking Mammon was in his right mind. He knows what is happening.
“Then come home with me and stay.”
“... I can’t.”
“Why not?...”
“This... This isn’t my life anymore. This was my home, but... I met new people. I went different places, did different things. I committed myself to all of that. I have a duty towards the life that I live now.”
“...”
“I’m sorry. I can’t stay. No matter how much I love you, I don’t belong here anymore.”

The book is the resource of every knowledge, isn’t it? If it is, then how can he not reach back to his brothers, or why can’t they tell him why he doesn’t remember them anymore?
Were they dead? Or did they simply didn’t want to meet him again? Was Lucifer this disappointed in him? Where was Mammon his parental figure? Where was Asmo his best friend? Where were the twins?
Was he just Lucifer’s creation? Did his brothers even care about him? He just felt wrath, at him and at his family. Would he ever be found again?
Did they actually hate him so much? He thought they had taken him, probably he had been delusional. After all, who can certainly cherish him? It had to be obvious that he was terrible.
Then why did they treat him with love and care? If they never wanted to keep contact, why did they make him appear like a family?
Beel and Mammon would always be there for him. Lucifer probably hated him to death. It was what he thought. Of course, Lucifer hated him, why wouldn’t he? He was destructive almost all the time.
Belphie would somehow comfort him in his own way, as in making him go to bed early. If he noticed he had been awake for a long time, he would use his sin on him. He would rarely snuggle and cuddle, but that was enough.
Asmo was the one to whom he was closest. He could talk to him about anything. Both would chit-chat for hours without giving a care about what was going on. Levi was also comforting, but it would play video games or going for shopping, buying him books.
Why did it feel like they had accepted him? Why did they create up this scenario? And then leave him behind? Was he even worth to be their brother? He believed he was what had caused the brothers to fall apart. It was his fault, but then he knew it wasn’t.
When he was young, he had seen Mammon raise all of his brothers being raised by him. They insulted him, but Mammon would always brush it off. Did Mammon brush him off, too?
He was falling apart and there was no one who would help him get out of this mess or to finally travel back to his brothers.

Someone I Never Bothered Knowing
Satan had never thought that this day would come. He always thought that probably demons can live forever but, was that the case right now?
Mammon had died. They found his body. It was a heavy silence on all the brothers. They never expected this to happen. Hell, they didn't even know this might happen after he had gone missing. Lucifer's fear came to life. No one had seen him, no one knew how and what had happened. Sure, it was a possibility that he might die. But now he was dead.
He was someone, no one bothered knowing. They never bothered knowing what type of a person he was, they never bothered knowing what he had gone through. They never bothered. So, was Satan hell bent on knowing about his brother after his death, he was the one who had raised him single-handedly.

Levi had started to distance himself even more blaming himself for everything. Who wouldn't blame themselves for everything after all this had happened? It was just a flash of moments and they had lost something very precious. How can people-demons expect them to be ok? When they really weren't?
Satan knew that there were things which he or his brothers never knew about Mammon, they never bothered. And now they had to pay the price. The price of never knowing their brother before knowing him truly.
It's finally out! Ok so this will have many chapters and is released on ao3 too!

Just saying that hell is in underworld, i.e. a part of the underworld controlled by Diavolo and other by someone else. (Hades) (if you know Lore Olympus you are my favourite and yes Hades deserves all the love Ares too, kick Asspollo and Zeus but hey 201 episode-I am sad. and probably sleep deprived. Somewhere up in the Sky [Mammon angst kind of?]
Based on : the drama and angst when Mammon has to go back to Celestial Realm leaving his brothers, and becoming an archangel.
Lucifer
He is shocked, he really is. He doesn't know how to react to this news at all. Was his pride so much that he pushed away his own brother and made him feel like shit?
He still couldn't get used to the truth or was able to digest the news. On surface he would be fine, but deep down he is broken.
He would remember all his memories with Mammon and try his best to keep tears at bay. He buried himself in work. He doesn't know how else to cope. How many times his Father will take his test and how many times he will lose his siblings? How many times he will take them away?
Levi
He is blaming himself for it, it was his fault Mammon didn't feel love, if he were better than he was then would Mammon stay? He doesn't know at all.
Video games and as such would be played continuously but that didn't drown the guilt which he carried. He wanted his brother with him rather than those angels. He wanted him back, he would do anything and everything to get him back. He wants his old brother back with him, not with angels.
His memories with Mammon were bittersweet, there were times where his brother did comfort him and time where he would insult him, he never though that he might leave them because of this.
Satan
He has too many questions and is wondering what had gone so wrong that Mammon had left them? Was it their insults or was it the fact that they mistreated him so badly or-
Satan's rage is too destructive he wants his brother back but doesn't know how. He tries every single way to contact to him or get him back. He is also angry because almost all his brothers have accepted that there was no scope of getting Mammon back. Why can't they try too?!
He misses his brother [parental figure], he wants to be hugged. He wants his brothers embrace. He wants him back.
Asmo
Panicking and sending people to panic even more is his specialty sometimes. He first of all wants to know how did Mammon go back to Celestial Realm? And how the hell he is an archangel. Was it Solomon and Simeon the whole time? How? He has so many questions...
He also like Satan wants to find a way back for Mammon and is self destructing himself, everyone could see that. Lucifer at times had to drag him to sleep. His beauty routine is beyond ruined.
After some time he does lose hope of finding Mammon back in Devildom he has decided to stay in Celestial Realm and cut off his contacts. He goes to his sin for comfort. He still clings to Mammon's blanket, at least he still does have something of his brother after all.
Beel
He is the first one to jump in for getting his brother back, he is going to investigate about every single detail. What did Mammon do? How many times did Mammon interact with Luke, Simeon? If there was a behavior change, did they get him a feeling much more like family rather than them? Was it his choice to go back or-
He tries every way to get his brother back, Mammon was the glue holding all of them together and now he isn't there anymore. They had slowly started to get along and now? Everything was falling apart again. He had lost another sibling.
He doesn't want to give up, but a part of him wants to, he knows he might never see Mammon again. But there might be a chance he might see him and have a hug, but that's not sure too.
Belphie
He is most of the times with Belphie when Beel investigate he does try but always wonders what had changed so much? He does try to investigate on his own but he knows Beel won't let him in fear of him losing too.
He tries figuring out things but in the end there is no answer, he tries to find to reach out to him or hell just bring him back somehow, but that never happens. Things just get worse.
Belphie never thought that this might have happened, never did he think of Mammon leaving. He wants comfort, the only thing[s] of Mammon's are in his room, where he seeks comfort. He sleeps on his bed as a way of escape, to feel like he still has his brother with him.

So, since I am back I will be making two or more alternative endings for this one.
Missing Mammon HCs [How the brothers react]
It was a new day in Devildom, everything was fine. Except the fact that Mammon was missing. He had gone missing the very day. Day turned to weeks. His brothers had gone in a search for him-
Lucifer
The first few days Lucifer thought that he was coming back soon, but that didn't happen at all. His hope was starting to get crushed. His brothers had gone in search of him too. He thought thy Mammon was at someone's house.
There was no trace of Mammon, no trace. Levi had searched the whole sea, the look in his brother's eyes would mean that they didn't find him.
Lucifer's mind would spiral into dark thoughts. What if Mammon was dead? Just like Lilith, he failed him-
He-
His calm and aloof personality would be maintained but from inside he was broken. He wanted to apologize to Mammon for being such a bad brother. But will he ever get that chance?
Levi
He didn't know for a long time until they had started to search for Mammon. It was terrifying that they might have lost another sibling. He didn't take anything seriously at the first but realized that Mammon was truly not there.
He calmly lost his shit. He went searching for Mammon very quickly, he searched wherever he could. He would always have that hope, but it would be reduced whenever he found no trace of him.
He tried to remain calm but couldn't be 'calm'. He didn't know what to do. He felt so guilty that he said so many insults and that might have caused him to leave. His self-esteem had also lowered a lot. He didn't have anyone to tell it was dinner or someone who could lull him to sleep.
He had isolated himself a lot too, seldom leaving his room. This was his fault, if only he was better if only he would have been nice to him, if only-
Satan
He thinks it's a sick joke which Mammon is playing. Until Lucifer declares him missing. It takes some time for Satan to digest that news. His brother is missing. His first emotion is anger. He is angry that Mammon ran away. He is angry at himself for letting this happen. He is angry that all his brothers treated him like shit. But he is a part of it too, isn't he?
He is a detective at heart and combining it with his rage was a dangerous combination. His wrath won't be spared for anyone until Mammon is found.
His brothers had to monitor his movements. Since everything would be suspected and they won't be spared regardless of their status.
Some possibilities scare him a lot. What if Mammon ran away with his own free will? What if he is kidnapped? What if-
Satan will not stop searching until Mammon is found dead or alive.
Asmo
Mammon will be back, his skincare routine is getting delayed. He will be back, right? Asmo is full-on panic sending everyone into a panic. Satan and Beel have to calm his nerves down. Even though they are worried.
All contacts are taken into account, who was the one to summon him the most? Which casino had he gone to? Which route did he take? How many debts were there?
His skincare is ruined but he doesn't care about that at all. Sleepless nights and not having enough food, Asmo looked terrible.
His thoughts would be similar to Satan, what if he ran away? Kidnapped? Or worse, dead.
Days he would go to Mammon's room and stay there for a long period.
"Mammon-"
He fell to his knees before venting all his emotions if only his brother was here.
Beel
The first one to jump into action after Mammon was declared missing by Lucifer. he started to search the house even though he wasn't there then RAD then Devildom and his search was never finished.
He has already lost one sibling; he just can't lose one more sibling. He also gets contact with demons and witches like Asmo and Satan. He is kind but that doesn't mean he will be afraid to get his hands dirty.
The house was so dead without his older brother, he was the one to make noise to cherish their days. And then he is long gone and everything falls apart.
Whenever they have any meal, Beel would store some food for Mammon, once Lucifer questioned him about it and Beel said it was for Mammon. He was forced to sleep, while Lucifer tried his best not to cry.
At one point in time, Beel had also lost his hope like Lucifer and Levi; it was pointless he searched everywhere. No one can trace him.
Belphie
Lucifer is joking, right? RIGHT? Mammon can't go missing he can't h might be a dumbass but he won't go missing, he-
He doesn't have a lot of contacts but he tries his best, it was a mess. Beel is the only one who listens to him. He is the one to try and stop Beel's rampage before he hurts himself or hurts someone else.
Why were his brothers giving up? When Mammon is still out there alive. He has to be alive. There was a point where Beel gave up and Belphie can't believe it, he can't bear this anymore.
So, Belphie decides to investigate alone only to realize it is much more despairful. Beel won't leave him alone and even if he investigates he doesn't find a clue.
Belphie would spend his time sleeping on Mammon's bed, he wanted the comfort of his older brother and the bed was the only thing which could provide that comfort.

His brothers were dead and who could he blame? Himself. It was his fault that he never treated them right, his fault that he couldn't save him. And it was his fault that he rebelled again his father.
All this was his fault and now he was alone in this world. If only he could have been a better older brother and didn't care about his pride for once, would they still be alive?
When the Celestial War had started Lucifer promised that he would meet them, that they would be always with him that-
And now his promise had been broken. Does the guilt ever pass, or stays the same?
He still remembers unpleasantly how Mammon, was bleeding out and had died. His last words were kind and gentle. He remembers the way his brothers looked when they died. Their last words always haunting him.
After all it was his fault wasn't it?

Villain Beel
TW: Kind of like Hannibal i.e. [not in detail] you have been warned.
As I mentioned he is like Hannibal Lector i.e. a cannibal.
He got addicted to the way meat tastes and then became a la Hannibal.
Mostly he tries his best for his hunger to not get the best of him but, it is difficult.
Mostly the brothers don't know about this. So, he can blame almost anyone and everyone for people's disappearance.
Though he has to be extra careful with Belphie because both of them practically live in the same room.
He knows that people [Lucifer, Diavolo etc] don't believe Solomon so much so he mostly blames Solomon for the disappearance of people.
After all he has to hide his secret, right?
