In the beginning of the relationship, Odie takes every chance he can get to impress you

It ranges from doing tricks, gifting you gadgets and trinkets (that he definitely didn't steal), and pranking the other heroes

That last one has gotten him in a bit of trouble, which often leads to you having to bail him out

If you're a snake person, he'll name one of his Vipers after you. If you hate snakes, he'll tease you over it and dangle his Vipers close to you

If you were ever in danger, his priority would be getting you out of there. No it's not retreating, stop laughing

It doesn't matter what size you are, you're getting picked up and carried off in a hurry. His adrenaline is pumping as he books it to safety. He's a hunter damnit, not some beefy brawler.

"I'm not a coward, babe. It's called a strategic evacuation," he huffs and puffs, refusing to let you down as he runs

Don't ever look cold near him, or he'll slither under your clothes to warm you up

His head will poke out of your shirt collar as his fur presses against your skin

He'll have a shit-eating grin if you carry him around like that, ordering you around like you're some kinda mecha

"Go left...no my left. Oh wait, we're facing the same way. Heh Heh"

Odie loves to steal your sweaters and shirts, especially if you're larger than his since he can use it as a blanket or a cocoon

Also because he loves to smell your scent, in fact, he'll pout when he begins to notice that you've picked up his scent when you haven't showered in a while

Being a hunter, he knows how to cook, but it's the most basic of meals. Think of boiled chicken or grilled meat. No spices or seasoning whatsoever

So if you cook anything for him, he'll go feral for it, scarfing it down before you can even put the plate down for him

If you introduce him as your "boyfriend" to others, he'll melt and get all touchy. The thought of you referring to him as "husband" one day makes his knees weak

If you're ever stressed or down, he'll cuddle with you until you're feeling better. Either nuzzling your side or laying on top of you.

If Odie is ever stressed or down, you can cheer him up by drowning him in affection. Kisses, scritches and pet names are his favorite

It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.

That is a bonkers assumption to make.

I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.

I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.

A void emptied into your chest as you felt yourself stretch into a shadow along the wall. The scars on your chest opened up like earth, maggots spilling out.

Nothing was yours anymore, not even your body.

Knock Knock

And suddenly you're here again, still numb.

"Hey babe, is everything alright in there?" your minotaur boyfriend asks from behind the closed door.

His deep voice resonates through the wood, his concern palpable.

Silence greets him as he leans against the doorframe, waiting for your response.

"I'm fine," you answer hoarsely after a few seconds, the word cracking midway.

Gently rattling the doorknob, you hear him speak again. "Please, love, open up." He sounds like he's speaking to a startled deer.

You continue to gaze blankly at the twisting knob, rooted to the spot. Hearing him grow more anxious on the opposite side stirs up feelings of guilt within you

"What are you doing? Why didn't you answer me?" He worriedly demands, the knob turning becoming more insistent.

Finally, you gather enough strength to pull the door open.

He almost barges in, relief flooding his features as soon as he sees you standing there. He steps closer, wrapping you in a tight embrace. His warmth seeping into your cold flesh.

Soft whispers peppered with concern fill the space between you as he holds you close, gently rocking your frame in reassurance.

"Baby please, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

As you rest your head on his broad chest, you feel his muscles ripple beneath your cheek. Your voice is soft, almost a whisper.

"I felt off...again"

He strokes your hair comfortingly, squeezing you tighter. A low grumble leaves him as he finally takes note of your nudity and then the mirror.

Of course.

"Again?" He asks sympathetically, rubbing circles onto your bare back. "Did something trigger it this time?"

A choked sob tears free from your throat as you nestle further into his warm muscular frame, seeking refuge in his embrace. Your muffled whimpers barely discernible against his thick coat.

"Shh, shh," he murmurs soothingly against your hair. "Don't force yourself to talk about it if you don't want to."

He scoops you off the ground like a child and carries you to the plush mattress of your shared bed, gently placing you under the covers.

Carefully climbing in beside you, pulling you close until your bodies fit perfectly together—he nuzzles into your neck offering tender kisses across your cheekbones.

He murmurs sweet affirmations between butterfly kisses on your skin, "You're so fucking handsome, baby." His breath hot on your flesh. "My sexy, handsome boyfriend." He continues.

A fresh round of tears streams down your cheeks. God, it feels good hearing those words escape someone else's lips besides your own. It reminds you you're still human. Still loved and valued by at least one soul on this earth.

And right now, you needed that reminder desperately.

Sniffling, you lean into him, relaxing slowly—soaking up his praises.

"I love you," you whisper brokenly, clutching him tightly as if he might disappear if you let go.

"I love you too," he replies earnestly, returning your grip with equal pressure.

I saw a comment by someone on reddit who said they no longer comment on any fanfiction because of the risk of it being AI and ... that just seems like such a cop out to me, not to mention incredibly cruel to authors.

Please please please do not stop commenting on all fics or interacting with authors because you are worried about things being AI. The risk is slim, and the damage you do to authors by doing this is awful.

Writers put so much effort into their fics. For people to openly admit they still read and consume these fics, but choose not to comment on anything because of the possibility of someone using AI for their writing is incredibly selfish. You're punishing authors by doing this. You're not being moral or helpful or crusading for any useful cause - you're just hurting authors.

Ironically, by doing this, you're actually more likely to cause authors to stop writing (silence does this), and people who can't write will fill the gaps left by creating AI writing - so you're making the problem worse, not helping anyone.

If you want to support authors and writers, then SUPPORT them! Reblog work and send authors asks, leave comments and kudos, and above all don't punish people with silence.
