NPD/ASPD culture is doing whatever you can to get what you want, hurting someone or something in the process, and being confused as to why people are mad at you for it. Like are you dumb?

Hello, everybody, welcome to: cyclothymia culture is
How this blog works
like other culture-is blogs, people with the thing the blog is a culture blog for (in this case, cyclothymia), can submit their experiences. do note that not everybody with cyclothymia will have the same experiences.
submit the experience as "cyclothymia culture is", "cyclothymia + [other thing] is", etc. etc. or you can just put the experience without a "culture is" starter. as long as you're polite we dont really think it matters. you can also submit questions which we may add our own ideas on, and we will also open the comments to the community.
what is cyclothymia?
Cyclothymia, sometimes called bipolar-3, is a mood disorder in which there is hypomanic episodes (mania which is less intense and lasts around four days), minor depression episodes (depression which is not major and lasts around 2 weeks), and 'mixed' episodes of both hypomania and minor depression.
cyclothymia may involve psychotic symptoms during episodes
Cyclothymia can typically be handled without treatment, but treatment may still be an option.
cyclothymia can still be difficult to deal with and bring its own challenges.

What is the blog's view on...
self diagnosis: if understanding something as a certain disorder helps you to make sense of what's going on, then more power to you. the point of psychology is to 'know thyself', and informed self diagnosis is the logical conclusion of that. just make sure you're doing proper research.
narc abuse: there's no 'narc specific pattern of abuse'. a disorder doesn't give you some secret insider knowledge of how best to exploit people. most 'narc abusers' are people, often neurotypical, who have been enabled in their assholery while internalizing abusive beliefs. that doesn't give them a cluster b personality disorder.
endogenic systems: these are our friends, for one thing. and another thing is that what goes on in their heads and perhaps in their therapy offices, is Absolutely None of Your Business. they're not stealing resources, they can end up developing a disorder in their plurality, they're not magically immune to trauma, it's not your job to try and force them to remember any trauma they might have, that trauma may not end up being their origin, and they deserve safe spaces. more power to them i.e. the same thing about self diagnosis where if it helps, it helps.

Is it possible to have NPD without a god complex?
I think so?/gen
having feelings, beliefs, and the need to be better and or superior to other people isn't necessarily linked directly to god status i think. you could for example have the need to be/become better than people around you while still acknowledging or accepting that a few people could be/are better in different fields. it usually doesn't need to be to an extreme, and from my personal experience this is not as black and white as you think it should be.
but that's only my personal view on the matter, if anyone wants to add to this feel free to/gen nf

NPD culture is constantly bringing up the one time you got a lead role in something because it was one of the few times you've felt special and you need someone to validate your performance.

How can you tell you have higher levels of empathy than normal? Are there any things to look out for?
Every recourse on this I’ve found has said things like “Empaths are more kind” but I found that to be a bit ableist
because it is (ableist).
empathy is just what makes you relate to others better and or feel what others feel. empaths can very well be bad people and or enjoy feeling other's suffering. being an empath or not is not a moral indicator./srs
also about how you can tell, i don't know? ive heard there are two types of empathy, cognitive and emotional (i think, ive posted some links about it somewhere in this blog before/gen info). one is feeling that connection to others through logic, and the other through emotions (to put it simply).
if you have any further questions though you can send more asks, and if anyone has anything to add to this post for any additional help on the subject please do/gen nf
