Book Search
I am trying to find an apocalyptic fiction book that I partially read a few years ago but immediately burned because it was that bad. I cannot remember the title and I'm hoping someone else may know.
I only read the first chapter before it hit my DNF list. But I do know it had a sequel since I bought and burned both at the same time. But It was hilariously poorly written and I was grossed out within those few pages.
The MMC was in his 30s, ex military (I think). Within the first few pages this MC already had the day saved; rescuing a small group of survivors, including a nun and an "exotic" 17 year old girl, from a completely overrun hospital. Somehow he manages to contact "a guy" who comes in with a helicopter to get them out.
The 17 year old girl falls asleep in the helicopter, and the MMC immediately begins lusting after her and her "perfect olive skin" to close off the chapter. The book followed him specifically, though I can't remember if it was first or third person.
I do not remember what the cover looked like but I didn't get the idea it would be like this from the cover or blurb. I bought it and it's sequel second hand for about $5 total.
I always refer to this book as a "if this bullshit was published, then I am doing just fine and will be just fine". Just as a moral boost to myself and my close writer friends whenever any of us get self conscious over our WIPs. And I would like to find another second hand copy to keep on hand as that motivation

EVOLUTION A200: A BUBONIC APOCALYPSE
Book One in the EA200 Series
“Oh, trust me,” Allen says, leaning to sit, “these old bones felt every tremor running through those joints.” Flopping on his ass, he adds, “Which leaves me to question the stability of our pre-designated shelter.”
“It’s brick and steel versus flesh and bone,” Denise exclaims. “It’ll hold -“
“- until an earthquake brings it down . . . And, my dear Denise, the ground is already shaking.”

Sunday, May 22nd, 2022.
This is the day the horseman’s plague escaped its internment. Not by the devil’s hand but by mine, and by those who aided us in our expedition. The contagion spread from a tomb in Rome into Germany, and within weeks consumed all of Europe’s mainland, leading to a global military effort to contain the outbreak. But the virus survived, and the pharmaceutical company that procured the strand, too powerful to infiltrate. It only took a few months before the infected emerged along the Eastern Shoreline of the United States. Coastal Quarantine Zones were established, but they were not prepared. No one was. No one had been. And no one was intended to be. But as I sit here in a familiar home, embarking on a new expedition, trying to right my wrongs, I realize my chance of survival is slim against a virus that has evolved into something more instinctual, more sophisticated, than the mindless undead that rose from the tomb they were condemned to.

one of my ALL time favorite books is feed by mira grant. the concept is so interesting to me because i’m a sucker for zombie apocalypse stories. this one is different in the way that most of humanity managed to rebuild, and for the most part, adapt to the infection. i could honestly write so much about this book.
...we don’t talk about blackout though...

A portrait of beloved professor Elias Scrimshaw. Elias is one of the stranger creatures from the species exchange program. An intelligent parasitic entity that can live in and manipulate a host's body for hundreds of years. Elias's species keep active only the bodily systems that are most needed, such as those involved in locomotion and eating. The unessential parts of the body are consumed, often Reducing the host species to what is essentially an animated husk which is kept preserved with a special cocktail of antibacterial fluids produced in Elias's strange asymmetric body. His preferred field of study deals with the biomechanics and life cycles of extraterrestrial parasites. His unique perspective and insight has offered great leaps in interstellar medicine by helping provide treatments for rare and often deadly parasitic infections. Not wanting to offend his host planet he took over the form of a stray cat which he assumed to be a local source of food before realizing it was in fact a common household pet. He has since expressed his deepest apologies for this mix up and has advised cat lovers to perhaps reconsider taking his class.

Love the little after death convo at the end of Cleo's finale episode. Talking with Grian about how they died. Saying that they knew they weren't going to win but still went out swinging. Saying she was proud of Grian for staying behind to at least try to either kill Gem, Scott, or Impulse or hurt them enough that Gem wouldn't win. Him actually taking out so many of their hearts. All of the Roomies holding onto their loyalty till the very end. Listening to Etho saying he wanted to die in his base, his home, from Scar's POV. Scar only managing to catch up when Etho was in his base.

Are you looking for a Zombie Apocalypse book? Try Outbreak Z By Harper Wolf
Hey everyone!
Are you looking for a Zombie Apocalypse book? Or are you looking for a new book to read in general?
If you're a fan of The Walking Dead, or if you are simply a fan of zombie stories, then Outbreak Z is the book for you!
Here is a brief summary:
Alyson Fowler is a doctor, and she's very good at her job. She's also a little too passionate about it though. Everything seemed right with the world, but that was before the virus broke out, spreading out across the world like wildfire, leaving behind a few survivors in its wake. It's not something new, but for all their experience dealing with the flu, doctors have never seen anything quite so bad. The undead started to roam the earth once again, and they weren't content to stop. Alyson's morals are on the line, and her faith in humanity is slowly crumbling as more than one person comes back from the dead. Her beliefs are threatened. Her life is threatened. The question is: will she survive? Or will her beliefs die along with the rest of the world?
If you are interested in reading this book, you can purchase it on Amazon. It is available in Paperback, Hardcover and eBook! Here is the link: https://bit.ly/outbreakz
