Honestly I think Dean Highbottom has some shit to answer to as well. The mockery, the derision, the outright admittance that he was hoping Coriolanus would fail and the Snow family would continue to suffer. How someone who loathed the Games still treated a young man with cruelty because of the past, because of social divides that would be so easy to tear down. In the end, it wasn’t just Gaul who shaped Snow into the man he became. So bitter and hateful. So incapable of compassion and forgiveness. Just like his father. Just like his Dean.

I don’t want to jinx it but so far it seems to be really helpful #he hasn’t even gotten one hairball since starting the hairball food! and he loves his new vitamin treats #hopefully he’ll keep doing well with the old kitty vitamin treats #I want him to get his old man vitamins #even if he’s super healthy for his age. it’s good not to get worse! #i would know. as someone who dealt with not eating enough from medication side effects #I’m better now though! I switched meds and take more vitamins just in case #anyway. eating food is important for humans and kitties if you can get it it’s important! #and if your cat doesn’t get or absorb enough food they could get permanent damage to their bodies. never let your cat go more than three #days without food! try to make sure that they eat at least every 12 hours #they might not need as much food as you. but they can get a lot sicker a lot faster than humans usually do #I can ramble on and on about cat health though 😅 I just love my little guy so much #combo of better food formulated for hairballs and not giving him an allergic reaction with the probiotics too seems to be helping a lot #i knew cheap food wasn’t usually quite as good as the slightly more expensive stuff but holy shit. since moving out and now switching food #it’s been going so well for him! maybe I should ask my family to change the other cats food. I just hope that an extra 9$ a bag isn’t #off putting for them. i feel like fewer hairballs should be a great selling point

Just read a post about how you shouldn’t trust a doctor who rushes you and like, yes I fully understand the frustration, so here’s what you can do to stop yourself being rushed:

-ask for a double appointment

-ask for a triple appointment

-fuck it ask for an hour long appointment if you think it’ll help

-be outright about what you want/need from an appointment. If you need more time to process information, say that. If you need the doctor to write out all information, say that. If you have a complex case/long history, say that!

-list all the reasons why you want to see the doctor/vet that day and please don’t sugar coat it. “Been vomiting” is a ten minute fix. “Been vomiting after every meal for the past two years” is not. It needs a double appointment and possibly a referral too.

Doctors and vets are overworked to fuck and exploited to hell. Help us out a little, please

#I get the frustration I really really fucking do #But I cannot stress this enough: we do not get overtime #We don’t! If you are booked in for a fifteen minute time slot and it takes 45 minutes we run late. We lose our lunch or we go home late and #We never get that time back. We already work long hours for frankly less pay than you’d expect for someone saving lives #If I run even just fifteen minutes late after one appointment it knocks on to everything and suddenly I cannot HALT #which is the acronym to encourage medical professionals to take care of themselves to reduce human error #(Basically take a break if you’re Hungry Angry Lonely/Late or Tired) #I have known other new grads who have to stay back at work unpaid for 1-2 hours every DAY #Do you know how much that wears you out? #All I’m saying is properly booked appointments are a godsend. #Also don’t sugar coat the reason for bringing a pet into the vets. #‘I want him checked over he’s old’ and ‘I want him euthanised he’s really struggling’ are two VERY different consults #I do get people’s frustrations with doctors but this website has a tendency to forget that they’re still human #If you were forced to do unpaid labour every day because you’ve got an understaffed over exploited work force you’d probably be annoyed too #And I know a lot of people are!!! But people don’t realise medical professionals are too!!! #We’re all in the hell of late stage capitalism together and that means you pay too much for a vet/doctor who does not have #The time or resources they fucking need

Documentaries of animals are great for coming up with alien stuff, at least for me because most of the time I never really think about why an animal looks/acts like that or how an animal does what it does

Tsudilo Geckos of the Kalahari Desert have adhesive pads to grip rocks with, which I’m guessing most geckos have now, and tbh I never really thought about how geckos and lizards and stuff could do that, I just accepted that they could

But! Now that I’m aware, it’s a fun detail to think about with any alien species that might be reptilian, if you ever shook their hand, you might be ready for the scaliness, but their hands might also be sticky!

Also, Kalahari’s ostriches will have scarlet shins if they have high amounts of testosterone, so it’d be an interesting detail to add of an alien species having a body part that’s a different color/shade than the rest of them and why it looks different

I don’t understand—if you’re an artist who sells your artwork online in some form, wouldn’t you want to listen to your fans requests if they want to buy your merch? And I mean just ‘adding certain artworks to the apparel section’ or ‘switching a color from white to black on a shirt’ type of request, and not a “omg draw my character!” type of request. It’s something they’d eventually do or make available anyway. Why ignore them when they just want to give you money? ☹️
