Xiao headcanons!
^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°•^°
He didn't want to admit that he had feelings for you mostly because he's an immortal adeptus and knew the day would come when he couldn't be with you
During the day if your bored Xiao will usually entertain you for a bit by talking to you or finding something for both of you to do
He loves just walking around Liyue at night with you.
Trys to push you away at times but it's mostly because he doesn't want to hurt you
Xiao is gentle very like extremely gentle whenever he'd touching you or anything that belongs to you
He's hardly ever relaxes but whenever hes around you he feels as if he is lighter
He will always respond when you call hims name and acts annoyed when you just called him because you missed him but he actually loves it cause he gets to see you
Not he big PDA person but will hold your hand when walking around
He also doesn't like way to much affection but when you to are alone he'll hug you. If it's not to hot he'll cuddle you
Don't ever question his love for you this man would destroy all of Liyue if you wanted him to. Shit he'd even kill Morax
When your out doing commissions or quest he's always right next to you making sure you never get hurt.
Loves taking you to the Lantern Rite. He always takes you to Liyue harbor do you both can watch the Xiao lanterns
Xiao like having like picnics outside of Wangshu with tea and of course almond tofu

So…..I pulled for Xiao because I love him a lot and I really wasn’t expecting him to come home. Yet he still came home at 75 pity. Also, this is the third 50/50 I’ve won in a row, and I’m a little scared. Anyways, I’m glad grumpy boy is home.

I don't wish upon anyone what Lyney's banner just inflicted upon me
#tbd.#mobile.#If you've been wondering why I've been static silence on here for the past few days... he's the reason 💀#I NEED TO KICK HIS ASS I only had enough for one pity#which I lost to my archnemesis (Jean) who I'd have even traded for a C4 Qiqi; in the 70s-80s pity#then I had to spend THREE CONTINUOUS DAYS exploring every region I didn't already have at 100% to finally get there#then I did every world quest every story quest every hangout and every single achievement I could#(aka all besides some secret ones; the fishing 2k one and the sigil thingies for Chenyu)#I am literally BEAT after all that and guess at what pity Lyney's C1 forcefully came home. 79. I'll end him#Why did his rerun have to be positioned so terribly 💀 I've had hundreds of wishes pilled up before Xiao's latest rerun For Lyney's Cons#but then I figured if I don't grab Xiao rn I never will & Lyney also showed no signs of rerunning :) <- booboo the fool#first phase too man the only things I was lucky about in Genshin were the unexplored areas/quests and the fact that I'm on break rn 😭#If I pull for anyone (bar Sethos) until Lyney next reruns I'll need you guys to manifest into my room and beat me up. Thanks#I'll see if I can queue some things for when I start uni again next week bc I KNOW it's gonna be hellish#I'm choosing to ignore my billion assignments due then tho. ☺️ That's a problem for future me#Also I just remembered how I got C2 Aven and his lightcone in HSR with NO trouble at all and then (looks at Lyney C1) That hell in Genshin.#Aven my beautiful beautiful wife and Lyney the guy I found on the streets 😭😭😭

will the twins ever go back to Liyue? i just—my baby boy, my son, my cute little exorcist, Chongyun is there with his boyfie. and we didn’t once say hi or dote on either of them. i don’t know if i can’t handle that kind of heartbreak. that’s my baby and we didn’t even give him a hug or a pat on the head or tell him good job :(
Part one; <-prev ; next ->
Call it a Day in Liyue
Two gods part 3.5(?) Interlude Chapter
Liyue teens (Hu Tao, Chongyun, Xingqiu, Yun Jin, Xinyan, Xiangling, and some Xiao) w/ twin gods
Notes: at first i was gonna be like "nah they're not gonna visit Liyue again but I'll write a lil drabble to make up for it!" and i threw that out the window so here's the interlude chapter ig. It doesn't exactly fit cleanly between two of the parts but shshshhh it's fine. i wrote it with the thought of it being before the twins go to Wangshu inn to rest or smth so- skjdfaksldjf
Warnings: cult behaviors, fluff
Sneaking away from a god and a whole government wasn’t as hard as you thought. Perhaps you and your sibling were significantly more slippery than you thought so or…
Perhaps it was because you both had some help.
“This way, this way!” Hu Tao whispered urgently, a near evil grin on her lips as she turned into a dark alleyway.
T/n hesitated for a moment, but you dragged them along, holding their hand. Surely, if you didn’t know Hu tao all that well, you’d be calling the Milelith on her in a moment’s notice. But you knew she meant no harm, the worst she’d do is offer you a discounted coffin. Or perhaps sneak something spicy or unsavory into your food.
In other words, you’d trust her with your life despite her seemingly dirt poor reputation. Even T/n, the more cautious of you two, had only a moment of hesitation before fully flinging themselves to the wind with you. Ducking behind buildings to avoid the Milelith, flying up make-shift stairs, crawling up the sides of buildings until you were on the roofs and meeting with 6(?) more familiar faces all staring at you two.
“They actually followed you?” Chongyun deadpanned, his sharp blue gaze staring incredulously before drifting over curiously to you and your twin.
Hu Tao giggled, her hands on her hips, “I was surprised too! But you know me, I just have a way with people!”
“Well,” Yun Jin stood from her spot next to Xinyan, “It’s a pleasure that their graces have decided to join us.” She bowed gracefully, every movement she made confident and well thought out. Not a hint of hesitation nor a falter with any movement in her limble limbs.
A hint of red touched your cheeks at all the attention, so T/n took it upon themselves to respond, “No need to be so formal, we’re all friends here.” They grinned so brightly you were sure you’d get caught.
“Here, sit down, I’ve made some snacks for all of us!” Xiangling exclaimed, her signature care-free smile lit on her face, “Here Guoba, help me pass them out would you?”
Guoba sang a little tune in response, grabbing some of the grilled tigerfish (you knew that was its name because of that damn street vendor that wouldn’t stop screaming about them). He hopped over to where you and T/n were settling down, completing the little circle the whole group was making.
“Thank you sir.” Xinyan giggled, petting Guoba as he handed her one.
Then Guoba handed you and T/n one, you both nodded your thanks to him and even offered him pets to which he happily accepted. The little noises he made when he closed his eyes in a smile, or walked happily over to Hu Tao beside the both of you was enough to have you grinning ear-to-ear.
“Good to see y’all are enjoying yourselves already.” Xinyan grinned, gently elbowing you, “We figured since y’all are roughly the same age as us we might as well invite you to our little get together. It’s a big day in Liyue after all, the streets are gonna be busy all night.”
“And this vantage point is pretty great so why not invite you two here?” Yun Jin continued, “Though it’s not the best view in Liyue, and certainly not Teyvat, it’s one of my favorites due to the people here.”
Xingqiu nodded, “Yes, I’m sure the Jade Chamber has quite the lovely view, however I like the closeness here. To both the streetlife down below and each other.”
You grinned dreamily and nodded in agreement, your brain still caught up on the adrenaline high from running from the Milelith.
Though your eyes caught onto Xiangling, her arm outstretched towards the figure facing away from the group. Xiao. His legs dangling off the side of the roof, his back facing the rest of you.
“Excuse me mister adeptus, would you like some?” He spared the food a glance before shaking his head.
“Thank you for the offer…” Was all he muttered before looking away again.
Xiangling hummed, her smile died down a bit, “If you insist…”
Xiao’s golden gaze landed on you and T/n for a moment and you waved to him with a grin, “Good to see you Xiao.”
“Hi Xiao!” T/n waved as well.
He paused, seemingly at a loss for words before nodding and turning back around.
“He doesn’t usually come here or hang out with us,” Hu Tao said with a casual grin, “But when we got here he was waiting and he didn’t mind us joining him. He’s a friend of that old man Zhongli’s, and a friend of his has my deepest condolences.” She giggled.
T/n snickered, “Not the Zhongli slander. But Xiao is chill, we like him.”
Hu Tao nodded, “I figured, Zhongli usually has good judgment in who he keeps around.”
Chongyun hummed, a small frown tugging down at his face as he gently nibbled on a popsicle, “So long as he doesn’t report us to the Milelith I have no problems.”
As you chewed on your grilled tigerfish, your hand absentmindedly holding onto T/n’s, you wondered if Chongyun was silently freaking out right now. From what T/n had told you (and from the little you actually paid attention to) Xiao was a demon of some sort and Chongyun was an exorcist.
Your eyes wandered over the small group, their idle chattering barely catching your interest. Although T/n was completely enamored. Speaking of all things to do with Liyue. Inquiring about Yun Jin’s operas, villages outside of the harbor, books in Liyue, art forms, food, anything they could think of they wanted info on it.
“You should really speak to Zhongli, he knows many things about Liyue. More than any of us could offer.” Yun Jin mentioned, smiling fondly at T/n.
“Yeah old men gotta stick together don’t ya?” You bumped your shoulder with T/n’s with a teasing grin.
They sneered through their grin, ruffling your hair and pushing your head away from them, “Oh you little brat- we’re the same age that’d make you an old man too.”
You snorted, “At least I’d be a cool old man.”
“Speaking of Zhongli,” Xingqiu was staring down at the street of Liyue, a worried furrow in his brows, “I think he’s spotted us.”
Hu Tao leaned over Chongyun’s shoulder, her eyes locking with the calculating golden gaze of Zhongli.
“Should we scatter?” Xinyan suggested, frowning worriedly.
You and T/n were the farthest from the edge, and the both of you were ducking down in hopes of not being seen by him. So neither of you saw his gaze shift from Hu Tao’s over to Xiao’s. A moment after he turned his back to the group and walked away.
“He’s gone…” Xiangling muttered, “Is it because the Vigilant Yaksha is with us?”
“The Milelith are being quiet as well…” Chongyun mused whilst you and T/n sat back up, “I think they know their graces are with us.”
“They more than likely do.” Yun Jin sighed and turned her gaze over to you and your twin, “Apologies, your graces, this was supposed to be a getaway from the busy streets and crowds. Though I suppose it was wishful thinking to be able to sneak you away completely.”
“It’s completely fine, Yun Jin.” T/n smiled, “This is nice anyways. It’s much better than being with the Qixing and in those bustling crowds. Besides, I speak for both Y/n and I when I say it’s a joy to be hanging out with all of you.” Their smile was genuine, and had to have been the happiest you had ever seen them.
Your smile grew soft as you stared at them, so enamored by this game. You knew they’d be happy here, they’d always wished to be in Genshin and to speak to the characters. It was so much better than what the two of you had at home.
You tore your gaze away from them to see Yun Jin blushing, “Ah, you’re both far too kind, your graces. It’s truly our honor.”
“You don’t have to call us any fancy title,” You adjusted your legs to sit more comfortably, smiling gently at the teens around you, “Just Y/n and T/n are good. We’re all friends here aren’t we?”
Before any of the other - more flustered - members of the group could respond, Hu Tao exclaimed happily, “Of course we are!” She grinned, and if you didn’t know better you’d call it almost evil, “Even the Vigilant Yaksha, we’re all close because we’re the teens of Liyue.”
Xinyan snorted, “You could almost even call us menaces.”
Chongyun scrunched his face up distastefully, “Speak for yourselves, I’m quite well-behaved.”
“Oh, come off it,” Xingqiu playfully smacked Chongyun on the shoulder, snickering, “Eat some chili peppers and we’ll see if you can still say that.”
Chongyun glared, “Do not-!”
“Did you say chili peppers?” Xiangling giggled, magically pulling some out of nowhere with a cheeky grin.
“Hey-!” Chongyun jumped back, hiding behind Xingqiu, “Keep those away from me!”
Xingqiu practically cackled, though Xiangling giggled and mercifully gave them to Guoba. He happily ate the peppers, making cute little happy noises as he did so.
Your smile dimmed down a bit as a memory poked at the back of your mind. Unconsciously, your grip on T/n’s hand increased as it became louder in your mind.
You felt them poke your hand, snapping you out of your mind as you looked over to them.
‘You okay?’ They mouthed.
You smiled - unconvincingly - and nodded.
T/n frowned but didn’t probe in front of all these people, merely increasing their grip on your hand and slinging their legs over yours comfortably.
“Hey, look!” T/n smiled, pointing up at the sky in awe.
You followed their gaze and your eyes sparkled at the sight, “They’re setting off fireworks?”
“I suppose in celebration that you two are here,” Yun Jin said, staring at the fireworks alongside everyone else.
“Woah…” You muttered, staring in awe at the sheer number of fireworks. All of the pretty colors dancing in the sky, the shapes and sizes varying wildly. You hummed, “Where do you suppose the traveler is?”
Due to how loud the fireworks were, and how quiet your voice, only T/n was able to hear you. They faltered and pursed their lips, “I’m… not sure…” Their voice was as quiet as yours, “Perhaps they’ve come here after hearing about us and festivities, or they’re in the last place we left them lore-wise which is…”
“Inazuma.” You finished for them, “So if they’re not here… then that’s where we’ll find them I guess.”
“Probably.” They grinned, “I can’t wait to meet them.”
You chuckled, “Me too. Me too.”
“By the way,” They muttered, their eyes trained on the fireworks still furiously being flung into the sky, “What was up with you earlier?” Their voice dropped even further in volume, to make sure that you were for sure the only one that could hear, “If you don’t mind me asking, of course.”
You frowned, “It… just…” You sighed, “This reminds me of my friends at home…”
“Ah.” Was all they said.
“I… I miss them, you know.” You shook your head, “Sorry I know you like it here and all, and I know how much you hated it at home and I did too. It's just- there were some good things… like my friends and your friends were cool I guess. I know it’s stupid to think at a time like this but… I miss home.”
From the corner of your eye you could see T/n’s jaw clench. You weren’t sure if you wanted to meet their eyes, for fear of what you’d find.
“I know…” They muttered, their grip on your hand had increased tenfold, but they gingerly laid their head on your shoulder, “I know…”
You glanced down at them for a moment, but resumed your gaze back up at the wonderful night sky alit with booming lights. Just barely, you noticed the Yaksha’s gaze glancing over to you two.
When your eyes connected with his, he immediately turned his head back towards the sky.
You smiled, and he saw it from the corner of his eyes. It was brighter than fireworks in the sky, but nowhere near as loud. It was quiet, subtle, but if you got a chance to glance at it, it’d light up your world.
Or at least, it lit up Xiao’s for the brief moment he paused to stare at it.
Finally, the fireworks died down and you could hear the cheers of the people down below. The shouting and a few common phrases, all of which contained “their graces” in them. But the small group of you on the roof remained quiet, bathing in the afterglow of a wondrous firework show.
Though it didn’t last long, Chongyun cast a withering glare towards Hu tao, “Why were you telling me about the shapes of all of the fireworks. That one was clearly a balloon and not a ghost.”
Xinyan playfully jutted in, “A balloon firework? Never heard of one of those before.” She snickered.
“It looked more like a slime!” Xiangling pointed out.
“Ugh,” Chongyun grumbled, “Please do not mention slimes around me ever again.”
Xiangling giggled, “Come on! I can give you a cryo slime next time! I’m sure you’ll like it more than a pyro one.”
Xinyan chuckled, “Trying Xiangling’s cooking without me?”
“You want to try her slime concoctions?” The pure disgust on Chongyun’s face was enough to have you covering your mouth to stifle your laughter, “Are you mad?”
You giggled into T/n’s arm - who was doing a much better job of maintaining their composure than you were - while Xinyan indigignantly stated, “Perhaps, but Xiangling can make anything taste good, or at the very least interesting and I ain’t no wuss when it comes to my friend’s cooking.”
“Ooo,” Xingqiu teasingly said in Chongyun’s ear.
Chongyun huffed, glowering at Xingqiu and pulling out another popsicle to munch on, “Well I care for my stomach. Xiangling’s cooking is all well and good except for whenever they’re putting unsavory things in there.” His glare turned towards Hu Tao.
She just laughed it off with a look that screamed ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’.
“For the record,” You tentatively said with a grin, “I’d love to try some of your cooking Xiangling. Whether it’s outlandish or not.”
Xiangling gasped (though you could hear Hu Tao’s cackling in the background), and her eyes sparkled with wonder, “Really? You’d like to try my cooking?”
“Yeah!” You responded, “From what I’ve heard it sounds interesting!”
T/n sent you a worried side glance, “You’re gonna kill your stomach, Y/n.”
“If we’re supposed to be gods,” You said in air quotes, “Then I’m sure I’ll be fine. You should try it with me!” You leaned in, snaking your arm around their shoulder menacingly, “I’m sure you’ll love it!”
T/n scrunched their nose, “I’d love to try some regular dishes. But none with slime please and thank you. I’d hate to eat that type of texture.”
“Suit yourself then,” Xiangling was practically glowing, “I’ll be happy to cook for both you - or actually any of you - anytime!”
Guoba made some little noises before running over to you and T/n happily.
“Oh! Guoba too.” Xiangling finished with a giggle.
Guoba bobbed up and down happily, singing a little tune as he did so.
“Geez there’s so much to do in Liyue.” You rested your head on the palm of your hand with a sigh, “Though I guess that’s part of the charm to the city.”
“Honestly feels like I could live here forever and never get bored.” T/n stretched their arms above their head, “But there’s five other nations out there and many people that want to see us.” They sighed, “So it’s far too early to decide on where to settle down.”
You hummed, “I don’t think I’m ever gonna settle down in Teyvat. But we will visit Liyue again.” You promised, a determined look in your eyes.
T/n nodded, “Yes! We only really explored the harbor while we were here and there’s so much we have yet to even see outside of it! So we’ll definitely come back.”
Yun Jin grinned, “Then we’ll wait for your next visit eagerly.”
Xiangling agreed, “Yes! Perhaps, if you’ll allow me, I can come with you outside of the harbor to collect ingredients for your food.”
“I could keep the spirits away,” Chongyun offered, an excited gleam in his eyes.
Hu Tao laughed, “I can bring the spirits out to play!”
Xingqiu rolled his eyes as the two started lightly bickering, “And I can babysit those two.”
Xinyan hummed, “I can… well…”
“You don’t need a reason to come along,” T/n laughed fondly at the scene, “If your schedules will allow it, we’ll happily bring any and all of you along when we next visit.”
You nodded in agreement, “Yes! It’ll be so much fun with all of you!” Your eyes flickered over to the silent Yaksha, “Oh! Xiao you’re invited too!” He blinked, a brief flicker of shock passed by his eyes, “Don’t be afraid to come along if you want to!”
His eyes caught onto you and after a pregnant pause, he nodded without a word. And then he disappeared.
“Well I suppose that’s our sign the night’s over with,” Yun Jin hummed, “The milelith have been staring us down the entire time and I think they’re about to make their move.” She smiled warmly at you and T/n, “It was a pleasure to be able to hang out with you two, thank you and I hope we can do this again.”
Hu Tao flung her arms around the both of you, “We’ll miss you both! You were fun to be around even if you were a little quiet.”
You giggled and patted her arm, “It was nice to officially meet all of you. See you all later then!”
T/n got up with you, waving to them, “See you later!”
The group all replied with a cacophony of farewells and see you laters, waving the two of you goodbye until next time.

I have been listening to “Sunny Came Home” for the past few days when I came across this AMV. It’s uncanny how much it fits Yang, that I’m kicking myself for not noticing it sooner.

Sleepless nights (Xiao x reader)
Scenario: You've been having nightmares really frequently, but Xiao always keeps an eye out for you <3 , a short drabble
Characters: Xiao x GN!reader
CW: didn't proofread
Completely soaked in sweat your eyes had opened widely, sitting up straight. You felt disorientated, feeling like someone mistook your head as a drum and your breath slowly returned. How many nightmares have you been gone through this week, they almost seemed uncountable. They had been robbing you of your sleep. Every morning when you would present yourself at work, you'd hear that your eyebags had worsened.. Always receiving the question if life was okay.
Well, actually. No.
It didn't necessarily made you paranoid or something, you weren't seeing things in the dark at all.. But they were annoying. Horrible images that were made up by your own mind, not being able to escape whatever was running behind you, trying to grasp you with its fierce and sharp claws and rip you apart.. You normally waking up when your brain decided it didn't knew what would be the next step after such a horrible death. Man, your mind surely got creative. Hearing a sudden grunt scared the absolute life out of you, your ghost comically seeming to float out of your body. As you were trying to regain yourself the boy who had placed himself on your bed, pushed you back down on your back and placed a cold substance on your forehead.
"... The snow was thick enough.. And cold enough. In Dragonspine." You looked to the side, realizing who it was and let out a heavy sigh. "You.. Scared me.." You softly mumbled, Xiao kept his silence as he kept on checking you if you were okay. "How did you even came in here.. How did you know I was having a nightmare?" You then asked, Xiao sighed softly and crossed his arms. "You have a habit of calling out my name whenever you are in those nightmares. The least I want to do is wake your ass up.." He muttered in reply, you sat up again. "Oi.. Lay back down, the snow isn't completely molten..?" He snarled, placing his hand on your shoulder and tried to push you back again but you firmly resisted. "I.. Don't want to sleep yet.. You're finally here?" You brought out, even though the room was pitch black, Xiao noticed your sparkling eyes. Were you that eager to see him?
He glared at you, his hand still on your chest.. "You're quite persistent. You're talking to The Conq-" "Xiao, please.." You gently grabbed his wrist, feeling him jolting a bit. With a sigh he looked to the side, letting go of your chest and took your hand in his. ".. I am the Conqueror of Demons.. And I shall not leave your side till I have slain every demon that haunts you.. Rest assured (Y/n)." You weren't sure if he would see, but at this rate, you were smiling like crazy.. Feeling tears prickling behind your eyes, squeezing his hand once more as he wrapped his other arm around your waist. "I'll be right here.." His calming voice whispered into your ear, slowly guiding you back into a laying position.. But this time, he laid right next to you. When you finally relaxed your body, he pulled you close.. Making sure your face would be buried in his chest and both his arms embracing you, keeping you safe from anything. You had nothing to worry about, as long as he was here.
