it would be funny if jupiter ignored her and left so often during the first book because he didn’t wanna see the confusion and anxiety he was causing morrigan by not admitting she was a wundersmith. he just didn’t want to watch or block out her terrified visions of the show trial any longer
but now imagine she does the same thing in silverborn to try and hide the deal. she begins going to practice at wunsoc more and more until she’s hardly ever home. an interesting parallel, wouldn’t you say?

Thinking about the fact that in Jackalfax Morrigan was always hated or feared due to the supposed curse on children born on Eventide and when she came to Nevermoor she began to realize that nothing was her fault, that nobody hated her or blamed her or even knew about the curse to shoot dirty looks at her, but when people (wuns or unwuns alike) found out she was a Wundersmith it was like reliving her hate-filled childhood. People would fear her, and hiss Wundersmith under their breath around her as if it were and insult, glare at her or cross the road to get away from her just like when she was in the Wintersea Republic, it was probably like reliving everything that she thought she’d escaped. Her once safe haven had now become like Jackalfax. After she was slowly recovering everything went back to how it was before all her development was lost.
Edit: I am so sorry for my shitty grammar and spelling, I was half-asleep when I posted this

Is Murgatroyd married?
Murgatroyd is always referred to as a Mrs and as far as I know there is no exception for unmarried women to have that title. So is she married? How does that work? Do Dearborn and Rook only ever show up when they’re at work, so that she can spend time with her partner? Or is she a widow? Was Murgatroyd even her original name? I have so many questions.

I very much doubt there's much chance of this, but is there anyone out there who is a fan of both Doctor Who (and especially/possibly the Gallifrey audios) and the Nevermoor series? As I have many au thoughts but no-one to share/discuss them with.
(if you are please message me)

Ok so I know I might be reaching a bit here but one of my theories for future nevermoor books is that the wundrous society actually turns out to be evil. Specifically the elders and the importan society members eg holiday wu and doctor bramble.
We know they've betrayed more vulnerable members in the past to help themselves like when they threw mog under the bus in Hollowpox. We were told this was to distract from the Hollowpox and Holiday wu was just doing her job, but what if that wasn't the case. What if it was to distract from a bigger plan wunsoc has that could possibly endanger the citizens of nevermoor or even the city itself.
Squall talks about him and morrigan having a "shared enemy". The logical solution to this is that it's maud but what if its really ghe wundrous society and the plan they have has been going on for years and squall somehow found out when he was in WunSoc. Maybe the courage square massacre was him taking over nevermoor before someone worse -wunsoc- could do it. This could have put they're plan back years hence the reason it's still going on in morrigans time. Maybe this is also why squall is so desperate to get back into Nevermoor, so he can save it from the wundrous society. This could also be the reason that the society members were so apprehensive to accept morrigan. The younger, less important members could have just been because of propaganda fed to them by wunsoc about how wundersmiths are evil. But what if the people closet to the elders were apprehensive because they knew the truth about squall and how he put their plan back hundreds of years and were afraid of her doing it again.
Now what about Jupiter? He's important to the society and very close to the elders. What if they are purposely keeping him away. In book 1 elder quinn says she recommended Jupiter to the league of explorers. Maybe on purpose so he'd be away all the time so they could work on they're nefarious schemes and what not. Maybe the reason he kept telling mog that doctor bramble was close to a cure was because that was what the elders were telling him but she actually wasn't even trying and they were using the Hollowpox as a distraction.
In short- wunsoc is suspicious and I spent way too long thinking about nevermoor.

Morrigan: Jupiter, if I tell you how I got this mark on my face, do you promise not to do anything…rash?
Jupiter: Oh, Mog! You know me! I’d never lift a finger to hurt someone!
Morrigan: Kay, um…Bazz did it.
Jupiter: …
Morrigan: Jupiter?
Jupiter: …
Morrigan: Jupi—
Jupiter: I suddenly remembered I forgot something at Proudfoot House! I’ll be on my way.
Morrigan: Jupiter, wait—
Jupiter: I won’t be long, Mog!
Morrigan: Jupiter!
Jupiter: Bye ✌️

If I had a nickel for every time I read a fantasy book series where there was a powerful elitist organisation that gave its members a magic tattoo and thus permanently bound them to the organisation and their oaths to that organisation I would have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot but it definitely makes the Wundrous Society seem kinda sus, huh?

[IMAGE ID: A digital drawing of Rook Rosenfeld and Lambeth Amara from Nevermoor. They are sitting in front of a large, ornately engraved fireplace, talking. There is a roaring fire which is projecting orange light on the characters and the ground before it. Lam is sitting on the left, with her legs crossed, staring at the fire and Rook is on the right with one leg before her talking to Lam directly. Lam is wearing the Wunsoc uniform and Rook is wearing a dark purplish grey dress. Apart from the fire the background is mostly dark. IMAGE ID END]

My daughter and I are fans of the Nevermoor book series. I have been working on my prompts in Midjourney to see if it can bring to life some of the images that Jessica Townsend’s books made so vivid in our minds. This was the best I’ve gotten back for Jupiter :)
