A wounded bird... (analysis below gifs)
Chilton comparing Will to a wounded bird
Bedelia about a wounded bird in the grass
The Wrath of the Lamb
Rewatching season two again, I realized that it wasn't Bedelia who first said something about a wounded bird, but Chilton! In "Takiawase", Chilton states that Will is a poor, confused, wounded bird for Doctor Bloom and Jack Crawford, but he sees psychopathic tendencies in him.
In "... and the woman clothed in the sun" Bedelia talks about a wounded bird in the grass and that her first thought would be to kill it, but of course she wouldn't do it. She claims Will isn't a killer, but Hannibal made him think he is, and out of his compassion, he's capable only of righteous violence, so in other words (and according to me): in her eyes Will is as weak and defenseless as a wounded bird. Bedelia also advises him that the next time he wants to help someone, he should consider to crush them instead to save himself trouble, because extreme acts of cruelty require a high degree of empathy (and Will is an empath). And that's what Will decides to do in the last episode.
Will Graham was an wounded bird the whole time. In the eyes of his friends and co-workers, he was a poor, little, wounded bird, a fragile teacup, as Hannibal put it. Bedelia's words also suggest that she considers him as a wounded bird. In the final episode, Will decides to kill the said bird and show everyone that he is neither weak nor wounded bird at all. (Chiton isn't such a dumb-dumb after all...)

I long, ache for softness. Hold me tight, but don't let me crack. Whisper softly in my ear, don't tell me mean words. Treat me like you would a wounded bird. Don't be cruel. I beg you, don't be cruel.

By the next morning I was a shuddering wreck of expectation, flying around my apartment like a wounded bird . . . My hope made me pathetic, but I comforted myself with the fact that I was my only witness.

Continuing to think about This AU idea and just, slowly rotating it like a microwave.
@phoenixcatch7 had the fun idea of xenomorph-inspiration and the dollhouse being replaced by the Hive instead and I am here for that.
A large cave that feels utterly wrong to anyone not part of their colony, if they can even find it. I am thinking something similar to Gemini Home Entertainment if anyone has watched that, with something between plant and flesh growing across the walls.
Where one can't tell the difference between the two, or realize that it's already gripping onto them. The caves are already dangerous after all, nevermind the depths that It doesn't let anyone else into.
Also made me think about Jason, and like, so he doesn't die in the cryptid au, and definitely wouldn't in a world where he has a flesh puppet. But that still makes me think about how badly said puppet would be utterly maimed, right?
Not to mention the explosion that would burn a lot of it too alongside whatever affect that'd have on his mind and human body.
But now I am thinking of how the tunnels are everywhere under Gotham, how the bits of tendrils can reach through that ash, can meld with it, can for a cocoon of sorts. Turning a little robin into something else, letting it evolve into something new.
I am also rotating on if they'd be known to the Justice League like in the Doll au or if only Clark knows about them like in the Genesis au. Tempted for the second if only so there can be fun distinctly Not Human moments.
Maybe the Justice League even getting concerned for their friend Superman because there's times he'll whistle or chirp under his breath (he might have picked up a few habits from his friends from Gotham) or literally snap his teeth if he's startled.
But oh the lil robins would probably be so adorable. Very fluffy and downy and brightly colored in a clear warning, but still unsettling. The way they move isn't right, like a jerky contortionist, but can also go too fluid or completely inhumanely still within a heartbeat. Not helped by the fact they don't need to breathe.
O h, the batfam could most definitely be venomous. What with how in both Aus they use paralytics and sedatives on their claws and spikes, It could definitely include that within the secondary bodies.

Tim AU pile 2!
Upper right is from the Carrion AU. Kon, in super heroic fashion, saves the world from destruction but winds up dead due to his grievous injuries. Cassie is the one to be with him in his last moments, sobbing in despair as she watches the life fade from her friends eyes. Then Tim arrives.
He just yanks her aside and hovers over Kon for a moment. He look's like the specter of death itself as he pulls out a very special needle and slams it into the dead man’s neck. Cassie ties to pull Tim away, but stops when she see Kon’s chest begin to rhythmically rise and fall. Then, miraculously, Kon’s eyes snap open.
Kon looks around bewildered, pretty sure he was just dead, when he feels two trembling hands grip the side of his face. He sees Tim looming over him, posture rigid and voice eerily flat as he says “You didn’t have my consent to die Kon”
----
Then the bottom Left is Ra’s Al Ghul having a very bad time with JJ.
Ra’s kidnaps Tim, who just sighs and goes along with, just to see what the hell this maniac has planned now. After a very elegant and courteous debate, Tim declines Ra’s offer to rid him of JJ in exchange for becoming his creepy little protégé. Ra’s of course, ignores Tim and locks him up until he can change his mind.
Soon, Tim is getting tortured by Ra’s ninja’s and he’s just like fuck this, I am not going through this shit again and let’s JJ loose. ((BTW: I decided that Tim’s Shrike costume is now grey/white because Bruce uses it as an indicator to tell how well mentally Tim is doing on his patrols. If he comes back with barely any blood on his suit it’s a GOOD DAY. If comes back and theres a lot of blood on it? That’s a BAD DAY.))
---
The tiny one on the bottom right if from the blood bird AU. After getting too high on caffeine one night, Tim ends up watching several animal documentaries until he can get to sleep, but one documentary about the short-horned lizard catches his interest.
Couple hours later, Dick is knocking on his apartment door with fresh doughnuts in hand. The door clicks open and Dick’ answering hello turns into a girlish shriek. Tim is standing there in the doorway, pale as a ghost, eyes completely red, with blood dripping down his cheeks. The big, excited smile on his face doesn’t help the situation either. “Holy shit Dick you gotta see this!’
After, Tim is very disappointed when Dick tells him that being able to squirt blood out your eyes is just plan terrifying and not really cool.

No, but all the implications!!!
Gortash starting to treat Durge's wounds as a mere way of ensuring his ally doesn't die while he still needs them.
Durge begrudgingly allowing it bc fighting against it is more trouble than it's worth, though they're a little peeved by the idea first. Letting others treat their wounds feels too vulnerable, too...intimate.
Gortash slowly establishing that as the means of control because well-treated dog is a loyal dog and he needs Durge loyal to him.
Durge getting used to that because for the first time ever they're offered comfort, for the first time ever their pain eases, even if only the physical one. Learning they don't have to bear pain, what they can simply go to Gortash and he'll make the best healers take it away. Or better yet, would bandage their cuts himself, almost as if he cares.
This gradually turning into routine to the point where Durge once gets hurt Badly, blacks out and drags their uncooperative body to Gortash's house bc subconscious is a bitch and connected Gortash = comfort/relief/no pain/etc.
Gortash being met with the bloody unconscious body of his ally on the floor of his bedroom and being both annoyed and, strangely, relieved, because his plan of leashing Bhaalspawn is working and because he'd prefer to know if Durge is hurt and be in control of their healing.
