Which I'm very excited to listen to.

They're filming "sidemen hide and seek in the most expensive house in London" so when everyone arrived the women who owned the house showed us around, also marking what areas were in and out of bounds. Then the camera men set up all of their cameras and filming began. "Ladies and gentlemen welcome to London's most expensive house, ever!" JJ began. "And we have a special guest, since we don't have Tobi we thought we'd invite someone else... y/n, since you loved her so much in the other videos!" JJ continued. The camera came up into my face, I smiled and waved. And everyone cheered. Then the video sprung straight into action, the boys immediately ran over to the massive zip line at the end of the hill below us. I stood next to JJ and laughed at their antics.

Soon everyone began hiding, I quickly found a spot in one of the rooms upstairs, it was small- a little bit like a wardrobe but could easily fit a few people. I sat on the floor, in the dark with my camera and waited. Soon I heard footsteps and stood up, then the door cracked open and I heard a gasp, "you scared the shit out of me!" Harry whispered. "Oh, it's you I thought you were JJ!" I said just as quietly. He stepped into the room. "You know... everyone's outside..." Harry said with a smirked. My mouth dropped into an O shape. "Harry!" I whisper, shouted and pushed my elbow into his chest. He slowly made his way down and onto his knees, then raised his eyebrows. I sighed then cheekily smiled "go on then." I whispered. His smirk grew bigger and he quickly pulled down my skirt along with my knickers. I gasped suddenly at the feeling of his tongue running through my folds. I grabbed his hair hard with my hand as he continued.

He stood up, smirk still plastered on his face. "Thank you, I'll remember that later." I said quietly into his ear and he groaned slightly. Suddenly the door swung open. Me and Harry both jumped back and our backs hit the wall. JJ along with Ethan and two camera men stood in front of us, thank god I'd already pulled my pants up. "Ha! Got ya!" JJ exclaimed. But Ethan looked at us with a funny face, "uh, what were you too doing in here?". I took in an unsteady breath "hiding?" I quickly replied. "You sure?" He said cocking a brow. "Yup." Harry said then moved past the boys and I quickly followed.

"Your hairs looking a little messy Harry." Ethan shouted after us with his signature laugh. After the video ended Ethan informed the rest of the group of what he'd seen and they immediately began teasing us. The teasing took a long time to die down but to be honest me and Harry both thought it was pretty hilarious.

I love Faith, but I'm almost always on Buffy's side, and I think Buffy went above and beyond to help her in Season 3.

Share a headcanon you have about Bangel or the Buffyverse?

My headcanon is that IWRY was a test of Angel by the Powers That Be. They sent Doyle that vision of Buffy to set everything into motion; it wasn't really genuine.

I think there were "three temptations" set up for Angel to overcome: the Gem of Amara, the Mohra demon, and the Shanshu. Angel only proved he deserved the Shanshu when he was willing to give up all three of them. (Whether he ever gets it or not is another question entirely.)

How would you have given Buffy and Angel their Happily Ever After?

I think Buffy's big wish was to be normal, and Angel's big wish was to be human, but I think both of them learn that getting what they think they want is less important than their bigger goals of helping people and keeping each other alive (and occasionally saving the world). So Buffy never gets normal, and Angel stays a vampire, but they find a way to fix the curse so they can help each other fight the good fight and provide each other solace and comfort along the way. (But I'd be happy with a Shanshu too! Any option where they're together is good!)

So there's a kerfuffle going on at YouTube right now. This RTGame vid covers is but the tl;dr version is this:

Youtube's new guidelines tightened up on swearing and violence, including animated/video game violence, and the policy back applies to all previously uploaded videos, demonetizations and age restrictions.

And it makes me question something about how youtube functions. I'm not expecting to find an answer, just rambling/putting thoughts in order.

The reason that channels try to avoid demonetization isn't purely financial. A lot of them don't rely solely on youtube as a job, or have alternative funding like Patreon/Kofi/in-video sponsorships. The reason is that Youtube's reccomendation algorithm tends to bury demonetized/restricted videos, and views tend to crater right after flagging. This is a double problem in that the performance of a previous video is a factor in how much the next video is promoted.

But... why do they do this?

To clarify, demonetization isn't "ads disabled." Rather, there are two types of advertiser on youtube: companies that don't want to be associated with "inappropriate" content (Huggees doesn't want to be in front of a GTA video) and advertisers whose are more lenient. Demonetization makes it so the former's ads won't run on your vid, while the latter will. The former tends to be bigger, better paying brands, so there’s financial incentive for both youtube and creators to cater to them. But the latter are still paying for ad space.

Doesn’t the current arrangement show a failure as a data company, though?

Google’s game is targeted advertising. Getting your stuff to the “right” audience is more important than getting it to the biggest audience. That being the case:

If “ad-friendly” videos are being artificially boosted, that means that the ads are being shown to surplus, unintended demographics. The targeted advertising is not being effectively targeted. Advertising budget is wasted. 

If “ad-unfriendly” videos are being artificially suppressed, then advertisers who want to associate with more mature subject matter are being actively punished as well, their reach intentionally limited. Advertising budget is wasted.

I could be missing some very important information, I don’t know how the system works from the more corporate side, but it feels like there are two non-contradictory explanations:

1) Google, either implicitly or explicitly, isn’t selling true “targeted” advertising. Companies just want a set number of views, and don’t care as much who sees it. The artificial boost and suppression of videos is there to make sure the bought metrics line up.

2) Youtube wants to limit the range of “acceptability” on their platform for their own brand image reasons, but if they take a direct hand in this, they run the risk of being legally considered a publisher and beholden to new regulations, so the ad policy and video burying is just half-pretense to act as publisher without being considered one.

We have a broad question about wrestling and how it's nominated and vidded. Last year, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), the wrestling promotion org, was nominated and after some discussion we called it an Umbrella fandom. It was disqualified by over 150 vids that contained footage from AEW Dynamite, one of the tv shows AEW puts on.

However, thinking of this as an umbrella fandom made up of individual TV shows doesn't really make sense: nobody in the fandom is a fan of just "AEW Dynamite" specifically, and they're not vidding "AEW Dynamite," they're vidding a specific wrestler ("Britt Baker AEW") or a rivalry ("Jon Moxley vs Bryan Danielson") or the whole AEW as a hype mix. (Wrestlers also sign with multiple different orgs over the course of their careers, so the same wrestler may be in four organizations, two tag team teams, and a stable of players who are aligned but not always working together.)

This is relevant again this year: Ring of Honor (ROH, another wrestling promotion org) was nominated as an umbrella. ROH is like AEW: it has different tv shows, but the shows don't organize the fandom, wrestlers and teams do. Also, the ROH championship fights are fought at AEW events. And a different AEW show was also nominated; it's probably ineligible based on a quick glance, but even if there are 150 vids for it nobody is really vidding "AEW Collision" – they're vidding wrestlers who happened to fight on AEW Collision this week and AEW Dynamite last year and New Japan Pro Wrestling before that.

Here's our wrestling fandom proposal: wrestling fandom is organized around individuals or teams and should be nominated as individuals or teams, basically ignoring specific wrestling shows. A wrestling nomination could be:

Britt Baker (wrestler): a specific wrestler, and we'd look for vids for Britt Baker

The Young Bucks (wrestling): a wrestling team

Has Trevor's internet porn career taken off yet?

Not so much. It hasn't been that long since he has started, and there's a lot more logistical aspects to it than he expected. He's a tiny guy, and there's def a market for that, but his size makes it difficult for him to really branch out.

So now Simon's friends, family, classmates, and coworkers know that he not only put out a sex vid with his boyfriend but that Simon is slinging my sausage than a butcher shop. Although, the biggest issue Trevor runs into is how to use his size to his advantage. If Trevor wants to get fun angles, he'd need help from someone who can work the camera. Simon knows how to work a camera, but he's hardly a photographer, and he's definitely not trained in microphotography. The duo needs to get a lot more practice or get an outside set of hands to handle the production.

While not an issue in the traditional sense, there have been others asking to do a Collab with Trevor. Trevor's not a prude, and Simon doesn't have an issue with Trevor fooling around with other guys. However, even tho Trevor is sturdy for his size, he's still tiny. They'd need to do a fairly rigid vetting and interview process before either of them agrees to have someone else join the fun, and everyone who has reached out about a potential collaboration has been shot down.

Most guys who offer don't realize Trevor really is that small. They think it's special effects or trick photography. They wouldn't know what to do with a tiny guy. Trevor does tend to take control when it's he and Simon messing around, but that's because he knows Simon so well and knows what makes Simon tick. Having to walk someone he doesn't know through the process is awkward and not at all fun.

There's also a bunch of guys who only want to work with Trevor to make their dicks look bigger. It's easy to go on an who trip on your size when your partner has a literal micro penis. Trevor is basically thumb-sized. All his potential patterns have dicks that dwarf his entire body. This again has much of the same issues as the first group of guys. They don't know what to do with someone like Trevor, and Trevor isn't interested in doing all the work with someone he's not emotionally invested in.

And of course there's also the sebsection of guys who want to lord their size over a tiny. These are the ones that Trevor and Simon are most wary of. As mentioned earlier, Trevor is sturdy for his size, but so is a spider. If someone wants to get violent, there's little that Trevor can do to stop them. So it's better just to stay as far from them as possible.

uh. so im a relatively new f1 fan - casual throughout 2022, when they played the races in the bar i worked, and then a much bigger fan in 2023 - i watched drive to survive fully and yeah... it spiralled. charles leclerc and ferrari got their little grubby hands on my neck and chokeslammed me. i am forever changed.

i got into jjk around the same time - tiktok just kept putting vids of them being angsty and gay on my fyp and i caved and watched the anime earlier this year. i must confess i gave up around shibuya - i am verrrryyyy behind on the anime, lol, but i know all the spoilers because.. twitter. lol.

i got the itch to write an f1 au of .. SOMETHING. i very almost wrote one of banana fish (and i still might, as a oneshot type thing) but the jjk dynamics make for a much better longform fic, and childhood friends to enemies to lovers is literally my favourite trope of all time, which is very satosugu. but apart from that, honestly its kind of a way for me to explore the sport and my fascination with it, because as a setting it works insanely well. especially translating across from jjk, where both settings are high-pressure environments with life-or-death elements, and a level of corruption present as the characters move through it.

i was thinking about like, what teams the characters would drive for, how they'd behave, how they'd do media, etc. honestly if u know f1 you will likely manage to draw comparisons to irl drivers and dynamics relatively easily - a lot of readers have already pointed out that in the comments. it started as brainrot, and then suddenly i had this whole world with history and a timeline and strong characterisations.

i very almost had getou come back as a driver rather than as a team principal, but decided against it, since i wanted to stick to jjk's key themes of protecting youth and raising the next generation, and getou being TP to yuuji and yuuta fit that much better than him coming back as a driver / direct rival lol.

i also almost had shoko as a driver and gojo's teammate, but i felt her role in jjk was more supporting and i love women in stem. so shes an engineer.

i basically just thought about it obsessively for weeks, while putting off writing it because i was already writing a 100k words + fic at the time (and still am, lol, although a lot slower) and then finally was like, ok just write it. and here we are.

honestly my planning process isnt extensive, i think of scenes / conversations that would further character dynamics, and then put them in at the right time. especially in the present timeline right now, i dont have any particular plan for the next few races, because i want all the tension to pay off simultaneously, which means waiting a bit before putting in a lot of scenes i have planned! its all about pacing aha

i was a klancer in 2016/17 and the dual narrative is largely inspired by hearts don't break around here's. the pacing and the building of tension and the payoff is insanely good, and to this day, that fic is one of my biggest inspirations. even if you don't know klance, this fic is genuinely one of the best fics i have ever read. it changed my life @ 14.

Hey! firstly thank you so much for the nice message! 💕

I'd be happy to explain to you what I do because you're absolutely right, nathan drake's (beloved) big head does love getting in the way, to not even mention the companion npcs who just love walking right into the shot you're trying to gif 🙃 i'll share some of my tricks under the cut!

One of the things I'd first like to show you, though, that in most of my scenery gifs, the full footage does include the playable character in the shot (in the case of third-person games). As an example, in this uncharted set i made recently, this is what the full shot of one of those gifs looks like:

I use the PS5's built in recording system to record video in 1080p, making the width 1920px which is a lot bigger than a dash-wide tumblr gif (540px); because of this, even if the character is in the shot, you can make a gif of the scenery without too much trouble. Like in this shot, i can crop out to only keep the lower right corner, and the final gif will still be big and sharp enough to work!

However, sometimes the character does indeed get in the way, and one of the tricks i use is showcased in the gif above: turning their back to whatever part of the scenery you want to gif. You get the least wide part of the character in the frame. Also, lot of games tend to use many idle animations, sometimes causing rogue arms to flail around in your desired scenery shot. this positioning usually negates all of that!

Also, some third-person games allow you to zoom in, I believe naughty dog games sometimes do by pressing the 'aim' button when you're not holding a weapon; this sometimes allows for a good wide shot without a character in it, too. but that takes a little experimenting based on the game you're playing!

One of my favorite tricks, that may or may not work based on the game you're playing and the environment your character is in, is basically backing your character up as close to a wall as possible, and then moving you camera up against the wall as well. This can make the character completely disappear, potentially leaving you with a beautiful wide scenery shot. is kind of hard to explain, i hope this video i conveniently have of me doing this in the last guardian explains it a bit (with me Struggling because this beloved game's controls are so wonky). there is a wall right behind me and i'm moving the character up against it:

hope that kind of gets across what i'm doing - of course this only works if you have something like a wall to back into.

but im proud of myself. yesterday into today has been nicely productive counting everything including this, and while this last thing maybe isn't a traditional accomplishment to be proud of, this is a bigger step for me in that direction. My audience is small but bigger than i thought it would ever get and like.

the money is v little. but maybe if i keep trying to improve it will become more, and in the meantime im quite satisfied with the latest few comments from ppl aksndjfnf

ANYWAY. Ralsie (at this point he's been reunited with the kids at the end of the battle. i DO have art for that but i'm just going to show the aftermath)

anyway with Tazetta being crowned princess and given a fresh new life, (again, details vauge cause it's a cute scene that works best with full context) she and ralsei are set up to be new siblings -a brother and a sister!

Kris and Susie got the chance to be proper heroes to defeat Gaster (saving Ralsie in the process) so everyone's on good terms -Susie feels redeemed for attacking Feylow and Knight-Kris (Knis???), Kris got a big Hero Moment and feels validated in their ability to choose their destiny, Ralsei gets to feel the prophecy wasn't a total lie, and he's been given a full chance to live his own life now without the Knight being a turd about it

anyway with the Knight

(AGAIN trying my best not to spoil the scene (fine with talking story beats but not in detail) so deal with being out of context as possible) the knight literally ends the fight by putting gaster in a time out and deciding to become a better person for the darkner's benefit.

yeah. jeeze. really wild how chapter 2 completely recontextualized things huh.

Also, since it's been a year :grimace emoji: i can saftely say the knight is WAY out of character and way to nice and "forgivable" in this dark world. back then I was thinking: "hm, maybe the Knight can be more redeemed and once in Darkworld, they could have a change of heart :)"

yeah thats. that's WAY off the table for Angel's Lullaby as it is now. the "will they or won't they redeem themself" is still on the table but its a WAY bigger fight to accomplish (or fail) than what was depicted here, sharing Kris' SOUL or not.

I think i was just toying with the idea of the Knight's redemption to foreshadow Asriel being flowey and not believing their SOUL was real. I felt this would help justify/foreshadow why Asriel was wrong ahead of time. or something. now i just think it hurts the story by having the knight involved, it undermines that story's intentional confusion if Asriel was right or not a ton!

yeah a big reason why the DW arc was Bad was because 1) outdated for both Angel's AND deltarune LMAO 2) bad in context of Asriel's arc 3) Feylow is kinda a big mess and overly ambitious of a writing metaphor for my skill level at the time 4) litearllyyyy hate the narrative i built for frisk and ralsei and i couldn't really salvage that x-x

Unofficial Bluey Timeline: Part II

Welcome to another post of my Unofficial Bluey Timeline. This part will be focusing on "The Weekend" through "Hotels". I will also be highlighting the recently found 2017 pilot of the show, since it pretty much is plot-for-plot a remake of one of these episodes (P.S. if you haven't done so, always read the alt text).

**But first, an update regarding my last post. While making the videos for this week, I stumbled upon a program called HandBrake, an open-source video transcoder. This was because the episode backups I mentioned were MKV files and couldn't properly work on my editing app. There, I found that it could do way more than simply convert file types, but also change resolution, apply video filters, and much more; so I found myself experimenting with how to enhance my copies, especially for the season 1 episodes. To keep it short, the program made the episodes better presentable (no distracting interlacing!), and I'll likely use them for any future video uses.**

So, without further ado, lets get in.

The Weekend - Episode 6 (and the pilot)

Bluey scams Bandit into buying magical statues.

Debuts and Details:

The walking leaf (which as of last week's recent ep "Slide", is apparently named "Leaficus") makes its grand debut.

Being as this was built off the pilot of the same name, the animation moves similar despite changes in the characters' models. This is why the episode feels janky and off-model compared to the rest of the season, b/c it is.

In the pilot, Bingo sleeps on a separate room opposite to Bluey's. While this would switch to both sharing the room in the final show, that exact room wouldn't show up in another episode until "Bedrooms" 3 years later. It's there where we learn that both girls used to occupy the room as babies before moving into their current room, which somehow lines up with the pilot (Bingo, the youngest one, occupying the leftmost room).

It would take ages dissecting every single change here, so I made a quick comparison vid of some key moments.

Differences in Character pilot design: Bluey: minimal differences aside from different orientation of back spots (They're not Disney-shaped, as I call it) Bingo: Snout shape and size bigger; Dark orange top is now two round spots on each side; back has many spots instead of just one. Bandit: Only left side of head is dark (reminiscent of a spot); no tan belly. Has the more drastic design differences of all. Chilli: Her dark brown spot is often not present, or swapping around sides. In the final episode, her brown spot overlaps her snout, other than the other way around.

What a weird way to make an episode about the weekend. This episode doesn't really rely on plot, and just shows us a glimpse of the Heeler family, which is still neat. As for the placement of this episode on the timeline, by rule the final version of the episode is considered canon as opposed to the pilot. Despite both version's plots being very similar, and the separate room pointed out earlier, it doesn't seem fair that an older version of an episode would be in the timeline, as it doesn't fit with the rest of the series.

Favorite part: The walking leaf scene, I quote it everyday w/ an exaggerated accent.

BBQ - Episode 7

Bingo prepares a pepper capsicum salad.

Debuts and Details:

This serves as the introduction of Uncle Stripe (Bandit's brother), and his side of the family, featuring Aunt Trixie, and cousins Muffin and Socks.

There is a mention of a "Auntie Mary" and her salad dressing recipe, but she is never mentioned in another episode again.

This is the first of many episodes that have been altered in international releases. For this, every mention of 'capsicum' is replaced with 'pepper'; no significant cut of scenes occurs, as mouth flaps were the only aspect changed between versions.

The intro scene with Bluey and Bandit prepping the grill serves as the first of a recurring element of the two copying each other, either through movement or verbal.

5 cans and a water bottle were destroyed during the episode.

Bingo learns how to turn on the hose

Chill episode, you get to feel the struggles of Bingo wanting to relax, while also tasked with creating the best pepper capsicum salad imaginable.

Favorite part: When Bingo is getting the salad dressing. The scream, in particular, gets me everytime.

Fruitbat - Episode 8

Bluey learns to dream in order to become a fruit bat.

Debuts and Details:

This marks the debut of Mackenzie, his dad, as well as Rocko

This is the first episode to span multiple days, going from night to next morning (2 days)

The stairway wall has no changes from its last appearance, however the fridge is reoriented to how it was in "Keepy Uppy"

Bluey is revealed to like fruit salad.

Fun episode. However, the main plot doesn't exactly start until 4 minutes in. Wish there was more to the dream than just flying and eating fruit, though; perhaps something more imaginative.

Favorite part: Bingo's iconic shot of her sleeping.

Horsey Ride - Episode 9

Bluey and the gang ride their dad's as horses.

Debuts and Details:

Polly Puppy, Bluey's special toy makes its debut

Bandit and Stripe play as Gallahop, and Sparkles, and they are technically married at the end.

There's what seems to be a porch in the backyard, that I swear never shows up ever again (unless it does, in which I've haven't seen it)

Universal Rule #1 of imaginary play - Animals can't talk; there is a clear violation by both horses during the wedding scene

Fun episode, nothing to say other than flirty Bandit is my favorite screencap.

Hotel - Episode 10

Bandit books a room at the Heeler Hotel.

Debuts and Details:

Bingo is Slobber-Dobber, I guess? Aside from that, there's really nothing else to bring up

The episode, while being fun, doesn't really have much to talk about, timeline wise and in general. It's not bad per se, but it's very minimalistic.

Favorite part: Bluey smacking Bingo's head on the bed.

With that, part II is complete. While there were some interesting details with this batch of eps, they haven't caused too much of a dent in terms of the timeline. y'know whats really suprising (at least to me)? that as far as i can tell, nobody has ever made an rvb/tf2 crossover. when ya get right down to it, theyre both about two teams of color coded idiots fighting over nothing in the middle of nowhere who eventually have to deal with grander threats. maybe theyre not exactly ripe fer a crossover due to the differing time periods, but it could be made to work

I wouldn't go so far as to call them crossovers, but at the very height of being into both tf2 and rvb I stumbled across someone's SFM videos with the audio sourced from rvb (taking audio of comedy skits and making SFMs out of them was its own whole genre, so I'd say it was more in line with that trend than a true attempt to cross the fandoms) In all honesty they were...not very good. But my passion was high and my standards were very low so I watched a lot of not very good SFMs during that time anyway.

I did a bit of preliminary searching, and I found some vids with a similar concept (which are also the same level of Not Very Good) but the exact collection of short videos I didn't find. May be lost to history at this point.

Younger me (<== contained not a single drop of SFM skill at the time) often did fantasize about making tf2 SFM animations But Good. I remember distinctly thinking that the "let me borrow the sniper rifle" bit would translate to tf2 so well, and be super funny. Actually! Demo and Sniper's scene in Territorial Control was based on that long remembered joke, arrived through the ages to take on a life of its own.

Circling back to sort of your original point nonny, I love the few times I've gotten to explain rvb to a friend who's only familiar with tf2. The idea that both canons have a conflict of Red and Blue needing to be kept in the dark that they're being puppet-ed by the same organization is so juicy; also, how rvb both takes people finding out both more seriously and less seriously than tf2. How it's both a joke and no one cares, (Tucker about to reveal it, then getting run over by a car and getting convenient amnesia and the plot moving on since it's for a joke and not *actually* a big deal) but then also when it is For Real revealed MANY seasons later, it leads to Sarge's breakdown and crisis of faith. One of my Sadness over tf2 canon is that this level of gravity is never given to the R/B conflict, it's just sort of quietly set aside in favor Mann vs Machine, which is set aside for Fortress vs Classics, which itself is being set aside in the last issue. Red vs Blue proves that you can move on to bigger and more elaborate conflicts, and you could have given a satisfying resolution to the initial duplicity/intrigue of the pointlessness of their whole war.

Anyway, I don't know if any of the rvb cast would get along w the tf2 mercs since their shtick is hating the world and each other, but I do think it'd be funny if the "everyone likes Donut even people who's whole thing is being a bitch" continued into the new canon. All of the mercs are like. Yeah these multicolored space marines who alternate timelined to New Mexico (alternate timelining into other video games is canon in rvb so fuck yeah) suck major ass. But that pink one. I find him oddly charming for some reason.

Texas gets Worf Effect'd. Her canon powers of "can beat everyone up super easily, but always ends up losing due to These Idiot's Hyjinks" absolutely applies when she inevitably fights the mercs.

Sniper takes Church at face value when he says he's a good sniper and is fine with just sitting around and not talking and killing shit. But as soon as they go somewhere to nest up this blue dude will just not shut up for some reason and Sniper gets fed up with him real fast.

Anyway~ most of my thoughts. I haven't been into rvb in a long time but it was nice to jog these old ideas again.
