Can’t believe there was a time in my life where I didn’t like all these foods. Now I could eat corned beef right out of the container.

Dear Gus & Magnus,
Usually when I go to events for work, I'm part of the behind-the-scenes crew, but today and tomorrow I'm in Frisco as a participant in a professional development class.
I've been hit with allergies hard this year, which is especially unfortunate right now because we're in the thick of making videos for owners meeting next week and I have a lot of voiceover work to do, but every time I talk, I sound sick. I'm doing all I can to get over it quickly, including not drinking alcohol.
I like testing my self-discipline, I like saving the money I would've spent on alcohol, and I like waking up with a clear head. I have also been hoping that not drinking would result in me losing some weight, but I've been at this for nine days and when I got on the scale at home yesterday, I weighed 198.6, which is the most I've weighed this year other than on March 8 when I clocked in at 199. Perhaps this is just life at 40 years old.
Dad.
Frisco, Texas. 5.11.2018 - 7.05pm.

Gluten-free tandoori chicken wrap from Remedy~
This was a work dinner on a particular evening shift. I don't need GF diet but was recommended by one who is on GF diet to get this. Apparently everyone who has tried both the GF & regular tandoori chicken wrap said the GF one tasted better.
I have nothing to compare to but I can say it was tasty! This was 1 order of the wrap; however, as you can see, they conveniently have the 1 order in 2 separate pieces instead of cutting a large one in half. I thought this was very considerate of them! I also didn't think it would be so filling! I'm sorry I didn't get a cross section of it - it was just very messy bc it also came with a sweet dipping sauce, so my hands were sticky. The filling inside the wraps was PACKED! & I mean PACKED.
Conclusion: I would order again. But maybe I should get the regular one next time to compare.
*note1: it was slightly spicy, like a 3.5/10.
*note2: has strong/abundance of fennel seeds. If you're not a fan of this flavour, do not get.

A Persuasive Argument - dpxdc
"Great!" Danny says, clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention. The dinner table falls silent as everyone looks towards him. It's a full house today and, honestly, Danny's a little nervous. "I'm sure you're all wondering why I gathered you here today."
"It's dinnertime. In our house." Duke mutters, while doing a very bad job of concealing his yawn. He holds his fork poised over the braised beef, but, just like everyone else, still looks towards Danny before tucking in. It's intriguing enough to wait.
"Yeah, no one misses Alfie's dinner." Dick says, with a brilliant smile that Danny can't help but return.
"Precisely! What better time to talk to you all than when you're all actually here!"
"Wait, I thought you came round to work on our English essays?" Tim asks, blinking owlishly.
"I'm afraid I've lured you here under false pretences, Tim."
"This is where I live."
"I would still really appreciate help on that essay though, I mean, what the hell is Hamlet even about? I just don't get that old time-y language, like 'Hark! A ghost hath killed me!' - absolute rubbish, what does that even mean?"
"The ghost never kills anyone in Hamlet, he's there to tell Hamlet that he was murdered. Have you actually read it?"
"No, but it sounds like you have. Tim, I want this guy to help me with my essay instead. I know for a fact that you haven't read Hamlet, either."
"So? We don't need Jason, I've read the Sparknotes."
"Hi Jason, I'm Danny, pleasure to meet you, summarise Hamlet in three sentences or less."
"Am I auditioning to help you write your essays? I can't believe you’ve gone through your whole school life without reading it, it’s good!"
"Hamlet, along with a number of other classics, was banned in our house because it portrayed ghosts as intelligent and sympathetic beings rather than evil, animalistic beasts. I didn’t even get to see The Muppet's Christmas Carol until last year with Tim! It was surprisingly good, and I hate Christmas because everyone always argued and it sucked. But we're getting off topic. I—"
"No, no, please go back to that, because what the fu—"
"Boys, please." Bruce interrupts, looking to the world as if he wants to hang his head in his hands. "Danny, you were about to say something?"
"Oh, yeah, Mr. Wayne! Thanks!"
"Please, call me Bruce."
"Well, that very succinctly brings me to my point, because I'd actually really like to call you dad."
Nobody says a word. Nobody even blinks, all as shocked as the other, watching open-mouthed as Danny pulls his laptop out from beside his chair. Bruce can definitely feel a headache coming on.
"Before you say anything, I've prepared a 69 slide PowerPoint presentation on why you, Bruce Wayne, should adopt me, Danny Last-Name-Pending. Please save your questions, comments, and verdict until the end, thank you."

Went out to dinner with my work colleagues on Friday ~ most of them work virtually so this is the first in person meeting in a while. Getting to chat with them in person was fun 🤩
Now the food ~ cucumber salad… had way to much vinegar on it! Baked potato ~ way to much cheese on it had to dig inside to get passed the cheese. The salmon though… was perfect 👍 the while wine was good and of course the chocolate dessert was delicious. So now I know what to not to get and what to get if I ever go here again.
