TOP PANEL
[ID: Ignatz Mouse clings nervously to a tree branch. Below him, Officer Pupp lights a wood-fired stove. In a circle of grass behind them, Krazy observes the scene. /end]
Krazy: How kind of "Offissa Pupp" to take the chill offa "Ignatz."
MAIN COMIC
[ID: Krazy stands in a field, unhappily smoking a cigar. A large cloud of smoke encircles his head. A bug walks past, carrying a hobo bindle on a stick. /end]
Krazy: Ogolla. If only "Ignatz" would come.
Bug: Hm-m. I've seen smoked herrings, and smoked glasses, but I've never seen smoked "Kat" before.
[ID: Krazy's cigar smoke completely envelops him, leaving only his legs and tail visible. /end]
[ID: The smoke blankets Krazy all the way to the ground. Ignatz walks past, hefting a brick along with him. /end]
Ignatz: Oh-hoh. A lot of smoke, but no fire. A most marvelous phenomena.
[ID: Ignatz walks on down the road. /end]
Ignatz: However, as I am in great haste to find that "Krazy Kat," I have no time to linger, however unusual the attraction.
[ID: The smoke begins to clear around Krazy. /end]
Krazy: Ogosh. Where can "Ignatz" be at?
[ID: Officer Pupp walks down the street. Krazy offers him their cigar. /end]
Krazy: Oh, helloi, "Offissa Pupp." I wunda if you would care to puffil on this elegint Hawana cigar a momint, or two?
Pupp: Nothing would please me more, "Krazy," cigars are my favorite tipple.
[ID: Pupp begins smoking the cigar, engulfing himself in smoke. Krazy stands and watches, his hands on his hips. /end]
Krazy: I tell you wot, "Offissa Pupp," there ain't no wolcano wot can eekwill you when it comes to a smoke solo.
[ID: Officer Pupp becomes completely enveloped in smoke. /end]
Krazy: Looking at "Offissa Pupp" smoke himself up like a chimly is werra werra intrisking, but it's more wital that I find "Ignatz."
[ID: Krazy Kat walks off down the road. /edn]
Krazy: So I'll just folla the dicstation of my heart, and go fourth, and do so.
[ID: Ignatz catches up with the hobo bug, who gives him directions. /end]
Bug: Huh, if you're looking for that "Kat," you've passed him. He's back there, on the side of the road smoking himself up like a round house.
Ignatz: So that's what all that smoke was, heh?!!
[ID: Ignatz races back where he came. /end]
Ignatz: The vagabone!! Trying to hide from me, back of a smoke screen. I'll bet he'll smoke when this "brick" comes in contact with his bean, dernim!!!
[ID: Ignatz makes it to the cloud of smoke, skidding to a halt. /end]
Ignatz: Thank goodness. He's there yet. Still thinking he's hidden from me. Poor gilly.
[ID: Ignatz ZIPs a brick into the smoke cloud. It hits with a BAM. /end]
Ignatz: Out of that smoke pile, fool!!! I know you.
[ID: The smoke clears, revealing a furious Pupp. Ignatz stands in shocked surprise. /end]
[ID: Officer Pupp chases Ignatz down the road. Krazy sits on a log, leaning his head on his hand, watching the scene unfold. /end]
Krazy: Ah-h, there him is. Playing tag with "Offissa Pupp." Just like the boom compenions wot they is.
