Flowers
pairing: richie tozier x female reader
summary: you really love flowers. you give one to richie every single day at school, and richie surprises you with a gift he made out of the flowers.
warnings: none, besides richie’s trash mouth, an iCarly inspired quote, and the fact that this is my first ever imagine #rip
SEND REQUESTS PLZ <3
“I wonder which one he’d like today,” you mumbled to yourself. You were currently standing in front of the same flower patch you passed every day on the way to school. It had almost become a habit to stop and pick a flower to give to Richie at school.
You never really thought much about it. One day at school a while ago, you had given all of the losers a flower, but none of them kept up with it throughout the day besides Richie, surprisingly. After that, you decided you’d give him one for the rest of the week and see what happened. He always kept up with them so you decided to keep doing it, and after a while, it became a routine.
At first, everyone thought you had a crush on Richie, and while that may or may not be true, you couldn’t let them know that so you decided to tell them he was the only one to keep up with his and that’s why you kept giving them to him to avoid the embarrassment.
Yesterday you had given Richie a pink flower, so you decided to give him a big purple flower. You picked the flower and made your way to the school.
“Good morning sunshine,” Beverly said, smiling as you made your way to the group.
“Good morning, friends,” you said, smiling back at the red-headed girl in front of you.
“W-what color flower did you bring Richie today?” Bill asked, smiling sheepishly as you lifted the flower to show him.
“Purple. It’s really big, the purple ones are usually always small, so I figured I’d go ahead and get this one,” you said, grinning brightly.
“I can’t believe you still pick those… those… disgusting things. I mean, can you IMAGINE how much bacteria is on a single CELL of that fucking flower? It’s just-“ Eddie paused mid-sentence and rubbed his temples. “Don’t you remember John from our class last year?”
“No,” you replied, blinking slowly and wondering what the hell was wrong with this child.
“EXACTLY. You don’t remember him because he DIED, y/n, HE DIED. He picked a flower, didn’t wash his hands, ate a sandwich, and DIED because there was so much bacteria in his throat.”
“I thought John moved to Texas after his parents divorced,” Mike said, raising an eyebrow.
Eddie blinked. “Well you thought fucking wrong, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.” Soon, Mike, Stan, Eddie and Bill were all four arguing over what they thought had happened to the completely random kid from last year’s math class.
You shook your head as you and Beverly listened to the boys argue.
“I’m pretty sure you’re all dumbasses because I saw John at the arcade two fucking days ago.” You didn’t even have to turn around to know where the voice had come from.
“Shut the fuck up Richie,” Eddie said, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms over his chest.
Richie let his bike fall to the ground by the bike rack and walked over to stand next to you. You stuck out your hand and placed the purple flower in his palm.
Richie examined the flower. “Wow, this flower is fucking huge. Almost as huge as m-“
“Beep beep, Richie,” Stan said, already annoyed by Richie’s presence, even though he secretly loved Richie to death.
Richie smirked and turned to you. “Thanks for the flower, small-fry.”
“I’m not that short, asshole. You’re barely taller than I am,” You mumbled, fake pouting at his short joke.
“It doesn’t matter if I’m a tenth of a centimeter taller than you are, if there’s anyway I can make a joke about your height, I’m gonna do it,” he replied, laughing at his own comment.
“We should probably get to class, waiting for Richie has already made us a few minutes later than usual,” Ben said, checking the time on his watch.
“Yeah, yeah, blame the trashmouth. One day you motherfuckers are gonna regret treating me this way. YOU’LL RUE THIS DAY! RUE IT!” Richie screamed, throwing his fists into the air dramatically.
You laughed at Richie as the rest of the group began to walk into the school, shaking their heads as they tried to get as far away from Richie as possible.
From the corner of your eye, you saw Richie tuck the flower you had given him into the pocket of his hawaiian shirt and smiled to yourself, looking down at the ground to keep him from seeing that the small gesture had made your heart flip.
All of you walked into the school and told each other bye as you all made your way to your separate classes. None of the losers were in your first class for the day, sadly. You waved everyone goodbye, and just as you had turned on your heel to walk away, you felt a hand grab you by the wrist.
“H-hey, what are you doing later on today?” Richie asked as he rubbed the back of his neck with his other hand, visibly nervous.
“I’m sure I’ll have homework to do, but other than that, nothing,” you said, feeling your cheeks heat up. You couldn’t understand why you felt just as nervous as he looked.
“Oh, okay, I mean, I was just gonna come by your house for a few minutes if that’s okay. I-i’m learning some stupid shit in math that I don’t really understand. Can you help me out, maybe?” He asked.
You knew he was lying. Not only because of how nervous he seemed, but also because Richie was insanely smart. Even though he was a bit of a slacker and never paid attention in class, he still made straight A’s somehow.
“Sure, I’ll see you after school then,” You said, giving him a small smile.
Your smile had always been his weakness. He loved your smile “more than any fucking thing on this planet,” which he had told Eddie one time at the quarry when you couldn’t hear them talking. Eddie teased Richie all day but never once broke his promise not to tell you what Richie had said. If you were to ever find out, Richie wanted to be the one to tell you. He loved your smile, but don’t even get him started on your laugh. Richie tried to get you to laugh every single chance he got, and when you did, you made him feel like the funniest person on the planet.
“Y-yeah, after school, that’s when we’ll see each other…yeah, cool,” Richie said, stumbling on his words.
”Are you okay?” You asked, slightly giggling out of concern and because of the fact that he sounded awfully similar to Bill right now, no offense to him of course, but we’re just facing the facts right now.
“No, I’m a fucking loser, I don’t know why the hell I’m talking like an idiot. I’ll see you after school, y/n,” he said, shaking his head as he turned the opposite way and began walking to his class.
You began walking to your class as well, but not before you heard Richie mumbling to himself as his figure disappeared.
“Cool? COOL? The fuck is wrong with me.”
You also heard a trashcan being kicked over as you walked away.
After school, you had gone straight home and finished your homework. You weren’t sure what Richie wanted to talk to you about, but you knew it wasn’t homework.
Instead of stressing about all the many things that were wrong with Richie Tozier. Even though there were probably more things than you could count, there was an equal number of things that were right about him.
You decided to stress eat a piece of cake your mom left you as an afternoon snack, and let your mind drift off to everything you loved about Richie. His hilarious, and utterly vulgar,  comments, that made you laugh all the time. The freckles that accentuated his face like stars. His crazy hawaiian shirts that made you laugh because they make a flapping noise when he rides his bike.
Just as you finished the cake, you heard a knock at the door. You slide over to the door since you have on socks, and almost died by tripping by the way and open the door for him.
“Hey Richie,” you say, stepping aside so he can come in.
“Hi,” he said, stepping inside, being incredibly quiet, which is NOT common for the trashmouth.
You shut the door and turned to him as you raised an eyebrow and crossed your arms over your chest. You waited for him to say something, but he said absolutely nothing as the two of you stood in your kitchen.
“So… That math homework?” you asked, deciding to mess with him a little bit.
“Oh, yeah, I figured it out,” he said, rocking back and forth on his toes and looking around the room.
“Alright, what’s going on. First, you were stuttering and acting weird in the hallway, now you’re being really quiet. Is something wrong?” you asked, genuinely concerned considering all of you losers knew Richie’s home situation.
“Something wrong? With me? Richie Tozier? The almighty leader of everything that is great an—“
“Richie.”
Richie sighed and reached for something in his bag. He pulled out a medium sized box that had been poorly wrapped in notebook paper with the words “please like this gift” written all over it and handed it to you.
You chuckled slightly at the words and opened the box. Inside of the box was a crown made of one flower from each week that you had given him. Richie had painted over each flower that he decided he would add to the crown at the end of each week with gel and acrylic paint to preserve them, and after a while, he had finally finished the crown.
Richie took the crown from the box as you stared at it in awe. It was honestly the most beautiful thing you had ever seen in your life and you absolutely loved it.
“Here,” Richie whispered close to your face as he placed the crown on top of your head. He stepped back and took in your entire presence.
You couldn’t even speak. For once in your life, you were truly speechless. Never in a million years would you have believed he’d do something like this for you, but at the same time, you could believe it because Richie loved every single one of you losers.
“Richie, I- thank you so so much, oh my god.” You walked over to Richie and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. He put his arms around your waist as you hid your face in his neck to keep from crying at how kind this was.
“You’re welcome, y/n.” You could practically hear him smiling as he said that. He had been so nervous about giving you the crown in case you didn’t like it, but now he knew you loved it, and couldn’t feel any better.
You pulled away slightly and ran your fingers along the crown on your head. Shaking your head, you looked at him, dumbfounded.
“Why did you make this? Don’t get me wrong, it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, and the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me, but why?” you asked.
“I know you love flowers and ever since that first time you gave me a flower every day for a week, I decided I’d make the crown. I know it isn’t perfect but Mike and Stan gave me advice on how to fix it. I tried to ask Eddie but he bitched about how I’m not properly disinfecting the flowers first so I told him to fuck off instead,” he shrugged. “I really hope you like them. I almost didn’t think you could look any more perfect, but here you are, defying the laws of beauty and shit, as usual.”
Your cheeks heated up as you smiled brightly at his comment. “I don’t wanna sound like every airhead in every single romance movie, but did you mean that? You think I look perfect?” A part of you wanted to make a joke because you’d never seen this side of Richie, but you wouldn’t DARE ruin this moment. Nuh uh. Not a chance.
“Of course I do. We all do. I mean, do you see yourself? I’ve had to flick Stan in the throat and pinch Eddie’s arm a few times for staring at you too long.” He said.
“I think Stan is too busy staring at Mike to notice me,” you said, smiling. You walk over to Richie and hug him one last time. “Thank you, Richie, really. This means the world.”
You place a small kiss on his cheek and his face instantly goes red. Despite the heat coming from his face, his smile is as bright as the sun. Little did you know this was only the beginning.

How to Survive Exam Season
This one is dedicated to everybody who is stressed right now and to everybody who has to write exams at the moment (including myself).
Prompt: here Genre: fluff Word Count: 1678 Summary: Simon works as a teacher in a high school and has a crush on another one of the teachers, Baz. When Simon is in a desperate situation, Baz decides to help out.
“Snow?” Oh no. Fuck no. It's the voice of Mister Sexy. (That's not his name. Except he might possibly be the most handsome person I've ever seen.)
I turn around, slowly, because there's the silly hope that he might not see me if I don't make any sudden movements. He's already seen me. Maybe he's right when he says I'm stupid.
And there he stand in the corridor, looking absolutely perfect, which isn't fair. Because right now I'm wearing the ugly yellow T-Shirt that's a bit stained with paint and that I usually only wear to sleep. Also, I'm pretty sure there are cobwebs stuck in my hair. So basically I look like I have never heard of the existence of mirrors and he looks like the definition of stunning.
And that's just great. Couldn't have gone any better. Except now the urge to bang my head against the wall has increased by four hundred percent. (He would know. He's a maths teacher – history, too, and politics, but I swear if you could choose more than three subjects, he'd be qualified to teach any subject in school. I'm not making that up, I saw in his qualifications that he can speak five different languages. I mean, it's not like I've been stalking him. It's just that I happened to stumble across them. Somehow. And I saw him play football with the sports teachers. He's really good at it. I'm just searching for something he's not perfect at. Not stalking him, Crowley.)
Anyhow, the reason why I want to bang my head against the wall. “Why are you under the staircase?” And why I'm under the staircase.
“I was... looking for something.” He raises his eyebrow at me.
“What could you possibly have been looking for under the staircase?” His voice is dripping from sarcasm.
“Your friend Ryder the spider, perhaps? Because I think you've found him.”
That's when I notice there's a little spider crawling up my arm. Oh. I find it quite endearing, so I watch it for a bit before setting it on the ground. When I look up, I find him sneering in disgust.
So, here's the thing. Baz (that's what his sister calls him) thinks I'm an imbecile. And to be honest, it's not entirely unjustified.
Let's just say, my conversation starters aren't the best. Example.
“H-hey, could you maybe tell me where the library is?” “Two months into the school year and you still don't know where the fucking library is?!” Okay. So maybe that makes me seem stupid, but to be fair I had a great plan to engage Baz in a conversation about books on the way. Then again, I probably shouldn't have asked him that question when the library was just around the corner. So.
Then there was the time I asked him how to spell the word 'accommodation'. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, very slowly: “Snow? Aren't you an English teacher?”
I really didn't know how to spell it in that moment, but it probably wasn't the best thing to ask him. Now he thinks I'm incompetent as well. Which is honestly just an awesome new fact he can add to his list of reasons why he should never talk to me ever again. So really, I'm not losing much by him catching me under the staircase. And it's not even that I'm so awkward and acting kind of dumb all the time. It's just his presence that makes me act like a total fool. I just suck at flirting.
This time, though, it really doesn't have anything to do with him. I might have done something incredibly stupid. With consequences. And I'm trying to fix it before anyone notices what's gone wrong. But I guess I can't hide it from him any more. I could just tell him, as an excuse, that I just really like spending time in narrow, dark spaces, but I guess that would be the even weirder option.
Weird as fuck is not on his list yet. (Or so I think.)
“I was looking for... the ungraded exam papers of the tenth-graders.” “Snow. You. Didn't - “
“Don't call me that.” “Oh, I'm sorry, Mister Snow. But did you just say you lost ungraded exam papers?”
Baz is also a bit intimidating at times. He takes his coffee black without sugar or milk and drinks it on a table that's a bit separate from the others. The other teachers call him a bit creepy. (I think he wants them to think that.) I call him attractively mysterious. But he would probably skin me if he knew that.
“My students are going to hate me.” Suddenly, his eyes soften.
“Calm down, Simon. I'm going to help you look for the papers. They can't be gone, right?”
“I guess,” I say insecure, because really, I'm not sure at all where they could be. Maybe I left them on the bus and they just drove away somewhere. Maybe somebody found them and fed them to his dog. Who knows what happened.
“I swear, when this is over, I'll make sure to never lose exam papers again. I'll protect them like my own son!” “You don't have a son.” “Then... I'll just protect them like my sour cherry scones.” He shoots me a sideways glance and smirks at me.
“Right... You're very protective of your scones.” “Hey! Name one food that is better than sour cherry scones!”
“Hmm... roast beef, maybe?” “I – ehm. Yes. I – I mean. No! That's just a close second.”
Baz laughs and I think that maybe I haven't blown it completely.
“Why did you look beneath the staircase, though? How would the papers have got there?” “I don't know,” I say and throw my arms up in desperation. “It was just the only place I hadn't looked yet.”
We go look around the whole school, which is what I did before, with the difference that Baz has a strategic plan. (Of course he does.)
And we talk, which is really nice. We get along better than I expected and my heart does annoying fluttery things. (Damn it. I'm twenty-nine. I'm supposed to be past this.)
We spend two hours looking for the exams and I start panicking again. If I don't find the papers, the students are going to have to write the exam again and that just isn't fair.
“Baz,” I say, sighing, and sit down on the stairs. We've looked everywhere. Where else could they be? Baz sits down next to me, with a great distance between us. (Did he do that on purpose?)
He looks kind of nervous and I want to know what he's thinking. Why did he spend so much of his time with me? I thought he hated me. Or at least disliked me.
“I just – this wasn't supposed to happen. I can't even – I mean – I was going to grade them in the staff room and then I got distracted by a phone call and somehow – I mean – at least I thought that's where I saw them last. It could've been anywhere. This is terrible. They should just fire me.” “Simon -” “No. I'm serious. I don't deserve to be a teacher. I'm terrible. Nobody can ever trust me with their exam papers again.” “Simon.”
I look up.
“You called me Simon,” I whisper.
“I... have a confession to make.” He averts his eyes and he looks a bit guilty. My heart beat speeds up. What's wrong? What's he going to say? He saw an angry student that I once gave a bad grade steal the papers for revenge and Baz watched them burn up? Baz himself took the papers and burned them so I would stop making awkward advances? I mean. Probably not. But still.
Baz takes a deep breath.
“I – I found your exam papers yesterday. I was going to give them to you, but then I forgot about it.” “W-what? Why didn't you tell me? We just went looking for them for two hours!” “I'm – I'm sorry. I just. I just wanted to spend time with you. I used it just as an excuse to talk to you.” “But why would you – I mean –“ I'm really, really confused (and a bit angry) for a second. Then, I realize what this means.
“Oh.” “Yeah.” He's fidgeting with his sleeves and still won't look me in the eyes.
“I'm really sorry. I'll get them for you immediately.” I can just stare at him in shock.
“Look,” he says. “I get it. Let's just pretend this didn't happen. I go back to my side of the staff room and you go back to yours and we'll never talk to each other again. I know you don't like me. I shouldn't have done that.”
He stands up really quickly and walks away. I snap out of my trance and rush after him.
“Baz,” I exclaim and stop him. He blushes. (I'm totally not freaking out right now. He likes me.)
“You're – you're so silly. You pretended we were looking for exam papers for two hours. That's – that's so silly.” He turns away, obviously ashamed of himself.
“Yeah, well, I'm not the best at... talking to people. It won't happen again, don't worry. I'll just -”
“You're so silly,” I say and giggle. “You thought I didn't like you.”
“What – what do you mean?” “I mean,” I grin. “Do you want to go on a date with me?” His face turns even redder and he looks completely flustered.
“A- a date – as in – ehm. Y-yes. I mean. Yes.”
I think I've found it. The one thing Baz isn't perfect at. I take his hand and his eyes widen (it's really, really adorable) and I love it all the same.

Food, Coffee, More Coffee: Inside the Spending Habits of a Working Student
http://fashion-trendin.com/food-coffee-more-coffee-inside-the-spending-habits-of-a-working-student/
Food, Coffee, More Coffee: Inside the Spending Habits of a Working Student
I don’t think my spending habits are too bad, but I do have my slip-ups. This year, I’ve been pretty good at keeping my spending in check, but we’ll see how that progresses/devolves as the holidays draw closer. I do know that, day to day, most of my money goes to food and coffee. Although I often eat at home — I love making breakfast and try to have either lunch or dinner at home every day too — it still has a way of adding up.
Also, I guess I should mention that I work at Man Repeller AND am finishing up my BFA at the School of Visual Arts, which means I require a good amount of coffee just to keep me alive and kickin’. It also means I’m trying to balance a budget that accommodates both work and school. On most Thursdays and Fridays, I’m home finishing up assignments, cleaning and generally relaxing (which helps me save), but this week was different, and my budget took a hit as a result. You’ll see what I mean. With that, here’s what I spent my money on this week.
Today, my friend Maria and I are taking a day trip to Storm King Art Center, wahoo! Before I leave, I run downstairs and redeem my free, medium-sized beverage from Think Coffee thanks to my loyalty points. (Funny story: My loyalty account is for some reason linked to my cousin’s phone number, so she gets all my receipts. Hi Jaime! She likes knowing how my week is going. Large coffees = rough week.)
There’s only one food option at Storm King so I get an above-average vegetarian chili and a decent chocolate chip cookie. After our shenanigans upstate, we part ways and I come home and make pasta for dinner because wowee, I am so hungry. At 9:45 p.m. I run (okay, fine, walk) to CVS and buy Tide Pods because I already committed to doing my laundry and, surprise!, had no detergent left.
I usually walk to work, but this morning I wake up late and can’t figure out what to wear (UGH) so I have to take the subway. I put $20 on my Metrocard for this trip plus future use. I study photography and primarily use film for my personal work, so I drop off a roll of film that I took yesterday at Storm King. Thankfully, I save a couple of dollars by just getting it processed and scanning it myself at school. My buddies at Two Hands bless my wallet and give me a discount on my coffee and don’t charge me for my 3 p.m. orange juice. I get home from work pretty late so I spend the rest of my night watching YouTube videos and eating leftover pasta. SO fun.
Another exciting day at work! Pretty sure I was still tired from my day trip to Storm King and finishing up all the props for the MR GIFT GUIDE (!!!!) so I had two coffees today. This is why I am good friends with the people at Two Hands: a minimum of two visits a day builds a strong relationship. Then, Madi tricks me into getting lunch with her at Sweetgreen, but then bails to By Chloe, so I am stuck eating yet another Harvest Bowl alone (add avocado, no cheese, swap almonds for pecans, tysm). After work, I have one too many alcoholic beverages and plenty of mini snacks at the MR Ralph Lauren event. I mistakenly think that means I’m set on dinner but, 30 minutes after, when I start scanning film at school, I feel hungry again.
When I finally get home, I whip up a gourmet meal (toast and butter) for dinner and then realize that I left MY ONLY USB CABLE in the office and so, while my phone is slowly dying , I decide to get one on Amazon. (Another funny story: I thought, “Hey, maybe I should buy an extra USB cable” while walking past the Apple store that evening on the way back from the event but didn’t buy it!)
Today the water is out on Mott St. (where the MR office is located) and so my beloved Two Hands is closed (honestly they just need to #sponsor me at this point), so I get a coffee from Cafe Grumpy instead. Good thing I have a loyalty card going there too! I also get more film processed, woohoo! I decide to go to Maman for lunch today because I just really need a sandwich. Then, Emily and I stay pretty late at work finishing up the gift guide but I still manage to make yet another bowl of pasta for dinner when I get home (I’m having a phase).
TWO HANDS IS STILL CLOSED BECAUSE THE WATER IS STILL OUT! Cafe Grumpy it is. I usually don’t work on Thursdays but we had to finish wrapping up the final gift guide shoot. I make it back home in time for some lunch before class so I whip myself up some eggs on toast and then head to school. I spend three hours talking about photographs with my thesis class and then have a nice dinner with my friends at Goemon Curry! (PSA: they have cutlery that looks like little rakes and shovels.) I head back to work for a little bit after that to finish up random bits and bobs and then come home and sleep like a baby for the next couple of hours….
….Before I wake up late for a shoot happening this morning, ACK! I didn’t have time for breakfast so I run to Irving Farm to redeem my free coffee and get a croissant. I didn’t have time for lunch before going to class so I grab a brownie and another coffee during break so my stomach stops making weird noises in class. Usually I don’t do anything on Fridays because I prefer to chill at home and eat MORE pasta but tonight is different because it’s my friend Margo’s birthday and we celebrate with beers! A friend and I have a pre-celebration dinner at Big Daddy’s which includes a very delicious veggie burger and sweet potato tots. 10/10 would recommend.
HAPPY SATURDAY! I spend the first half of the day at home cleaning my apartment and having lunch before going to Chillhouse for a manicure. Before heading in I wander around Soho and am, of course, hankering for a snack and so I, of course, go to Two Hands, because I gotta stay loyal. This is actually the first manicure I’ve ever gotten in New York since moving here 3.5 years ago. It was a very long and stressful week so I decided to treat myself to some pretty nails since I don’t think I will have to paint anything in awhile (fingers crossed) (don’t look at me Emily).
While in the area, I pop over to Top Hat and buy some presents for friends and myself because Christmas is near! And you know who likes gifts? Me. Also my friends! But mostly me. On my way home I make more exciting purchases at the supermarket. Grocery haul you say? NO PROBLEMO! I got bananas, sparkling water, pasta sauce, pasta and a bottle of blood orange juice and kombucha.
BAM! DONE! Money spent! Honestly this week has just been a documentation of how many times I go to Two Hands in a week and also how much coffee I consume, which isn’t usually this much, I promise. I actually don’t feel that bad about the money I spent because I had a great week and I did a couple of special things like go to Storm King and get a manicure, but I do want to keep working on my spending habits.
For now I’m just gonna sit back, relax, and wait for my mother to make a comment about how much caffeine I drink.
