So reading some Wednesday/Enid fics, and having written many Hope/Lizzie fics, it occurs to me that there are 3 similarities between them when it comes to writing:

1. It is really easy to write Enid/Lizzie having a crush and even pursuing Wednesday/Hope romantically.

2. It is simple enough to write Wednesday/Hope being in a relationship with Enid/Lizzie.

3. It is hard as hell to write Wednesday/Hope being the one to pursue Enid/Lizzie. Both are very restrained and not outwardly emotional, and demonstrate how they feel through actions more than words. And both are sooner to jump into fire than make the first move to actually get their girl.

Xaviers and Wednesday's relationship, if they were hypothetically to get one, always seemed like the straight version of Enid and Wednesday if Enid was a pushover. Like, for Tyler it felt like a kink when Wednesday was being a dick (the masochist) while Enid stands up for herself and respects her own and Wednesday's boundaries, also being quite combative when Wednesday is being cruel. Xavier had every right to be pissed at Wednesday for framing him but he just forgives her instantly. After yelling at her for valid reasons and apologizing for it. Enid and Xavier were the two people who told Wednesday about how toxic she can be and how it hurts people, but Enid's the only one who actually sticks with it and doesn't just let Wednesday be rude to her for no reason. Xavier was speaking the truth when he yelled at Wednesday, but because he likes her he'll lie and apologize and say it was alright, until the next time it happens and he loses his shit again. Tyler embraced how fucked Wednesday was and brushed her remarks off swiftly while Enid accepts but also creates boundaries for her and their "friendship". Xavier apologized about losing his shit at the person who framed him and also snuck into her room just bc he wanted to. Xavier I truly believe would lose his mind being with Wednesday, while Tyler would love that and Enid's too smart to allow it

one of the things i find interesting in Wednesday is how....idk how to articulate it but it’s like, in that final sequence of showdown(s), Wednesday is clearly Not going to be able to defeat Hydler once he transforms, Enid shows up (in wolf form) just in time to save her/get Hydler out of her way so she can continue on to beat Crackstone. 

Then when Wednesday is outmatched by Crackstone and he’s....idk murdering her with the magic staff or whatever he’s doing to her, Bianca comes in and honestly takes no prisoners like she’s visibly terrified after delivering what should have been a lethal wound but she also stands her ground even as Crackstone turns his attention to her- which is exactly the distraction Wednesday needed to finish him off. 

and THEN when Wednesday is about to get shot and is not gonna be able to do a damn thing about it, here come Eugene right on time to incapacitate Laurel and, like the previous two, directly save Wednesday’s life.

i just think it’s neat
