ARTHUR: I think it's been a good trip.
MORDRED: Yeah, we all caught something.
GWAINE: Including Merlin. [He laughs.]
ARTHUR: What did he catch?
MERLIN: A cold!
LEON: If you learnt to track, you'd enjoy it more.
MERLIN: I'm the best tracker here.
.
.
.
I can't keep this dialogue out of my head, because, what if it didn't end like this. I mean what if when the knights laughed thinking it was a joke, Merlin pointed out how it was because of him that they escaped the impenetrable forest. That he can actually track, he just didn't like hunting.
And what if he just let down the argument afterwards, without thinking much about it, oblivious of all the question it raised in the knights mind (except for Mordred), because suddenly they have to acknowledge that they don't actually know how much they constantly underestimate Merlin.
And what if they start to reconsider how, everytime they were in danger, they didn't stop thinking how a supposed harmless peasant boy always managed to escapes it almost unharmed?
What then?

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.
and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
I'm not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me

literally feels like a myth that there are people who don't struggle with basic tasks like getting out of bed or going to the shops or seeing a friend for coffee. how does everything not feel like a painstaking chore for them. how do they have the physical and emotional energy every single day

The world exists in such a baffling state of simultaneous sex-aversion and sex-hegemony. Every social platform on the internet is trying to banish sex workers to the shadow realm but I can't post a tweet without at least two bots replying P U S S Y I N B I O. People are self-censoring sex to seggs and $3× but every other ad you see is still filled with half-naked women. Rightwingers want queer people arrested for so much as existing in the same postal code as a child and are also drumming up a moral panic about how teenage boys aren't getting laid enough. I feel like I'm losing my mind.
