You're pottering around the kitchen when the boys come home from the gym, said boys not including a very sullen Johnny who threw his knee out last week leading you to promptly issue a very firm bed rest order, swatting your tea towel at him when he'd attempted to slip out this morning with his gym bag.

Kyle is on you immediately to see what you're whipping up, whilst John goes off to shower and Simon goes to bring in more logs for the slowly dwindling fire. You attempt to shoo Kyle away as he and Johnny sidle up to your back, nipping at your neck or toying with your hair - making your cooking far more difficult. You successfully manage to shoo Johnny away with a spoonful of creme brûlée stuffed into his open mouth, whilst Kyle sticks at your side like a limpet, whinging about how he'd missed you at the gym and that the boys are all so testosterone-y, which you promptly shut up with a gentle kiss to his waiting lips. With the first lot of grumbling military men out of your hair, you seek Simon out where he smokes on the porch, a steaming mug of earl grey in one hand and a brownie in the other. He promptly moves his cigarette to his other hand so that he can scoop you up against his side, resting his chin against the crown of your head, breathing in the smell of your shampoo and perfume appreciatively. You yourself give an appreciative hum at the warmth of his presence, your wellies and pyjama shorts not doing very much against the chilly morning outside the cozy confines of home.

"How's Johnny?" He rumbles into your hair, pulling back momentarily to take a drag from his cigarette before sidling back up to you. "A pain in the ass." You huff fondly back, unable to hide the pity in your voice for the normally eternally energetic Scotsman. "Cabin fever's got him practically bouncing off the walls." "And you? Are you doing okay, birdie?" "M' just happy to have all my boys home and safe." The sound of your voice melts into the quiet birdsong and the eternally soothing sound of Simon's slightly raspy breathing from the deviated septum he'd managed to get after breaking his nose a few years back.

The sound of the door swinging open doesn't disrupt you and Simon from your shared moment of peace, John coming out with one of his cigars hanging between his lips, free hand snaking around your waist as he leans against the porch. Quickly you notice the phone balanced between his ear and shoulder, and his expression focussed intently on what the person on the other end is saying. John puffs away at his cigar, fidgeting absently with the waistband of your shorts whilst you and Simon chat away about nothing, careful not to let your voices be heard by whoever John's on the phone to.

Growing sick of the cold, you give Simon and John kisses respectively before retreating inside where Kyle and Johnny have settled on the couch, playstation controllers in hand and a video game shown on the large flatscreen Johnny'd insisted you all bought when you moved in together. You're quick to shimmy up beside Johnny, settling your head on his lap, soothed by the sound of he and Kyle talking about the game, John and Simon soon joining the three of you. Simon squishes between Kyle and Johnny in order to play with your hair and chat to you about your day, whilst John gathers your legs up and plops them into his lap, tracing patterns across the bare skin of your calves as he reads something on his phone.

You eventually find yourself dozing off in spite of the ruckus around you, only waking at midday when you're coaxed off of the couch by Kyle who carries your tired body to the simple dining room where the others are laying the table, diligently having taken the large piece of meat you'd been slow roasting all morning from the oven, placed in the middle of the table.

The boys thank you as you all tuck into the hearty, late lunch you'd prepared, laughter and chatter filling the cozy room, gratitude palpable amongst you.

It was the gentle pitter-patter of the rain that had stirred you from slumber, but the crack of thunder that actually caused you to get out of bed. You shivered at the cool air coming through the cracked window, only in your underwear from the evening before. A discarded shirt on his desk caught your eye and was quietly slipped over your frame. 

A glance back at the warm, comfy bed told you he was still fast asleep. He was beautiful; pale skin with freckled, rosy cheeks and bright pink lips, and wild hair fanned across his pillow. He looked so relaxed and peaceful that the idea that he would have to wake up caused your heart to pang. His polaroid camera stared at you from atop a pile of laundry that needed to be folded and you came up with an idea that you deemed brilliant. As quietly as you could with the clunky thing, you snapped a picture of your metalhead. 

He didn’t even stir at the sound of the flash, snap, or printing of the photo. You set it down in an uncrowded spot on his desk to develop as you padded out of his bedroom, and to the front door. It opened gently as you stepped outside on the porch of the trailer, studying the heavy gray skies and gently falling rain. The air smelled fresh, laced with the scent of damp earth and wet concrete and chimney smoke. A combination that brought forth a sense of comfort and familiarity. 

Lightning flashed in the distance and caused you to startle for a moment before you started to count until you heard the accompanying thunder. You toed on Eddie’s old pair of wellies and trudged down the rickety porch steps, letting yourself get caught in the light drizzle. The familiar ribbets of the frogs that always appeared during the rainy season enthralled you and you looked around the uneven grass as you tried to track them down. 

After following their croaky song for a few minutes, you found a little family nested in some wet leaves on one of the shrubs. You meant down to look at them, your heart light and happy at the little critters. They looked happy as they hopped around and sang their song; a small bit of everyday magic.  You were about to pick a rogue little one up to put back near the others but the sound of the creaky door opening again caught your attention.

“Baby,” you rose to your full height and looked back to find Eddie Munson standing on his porch, eyes heavy lidded and voice thick with sleep in only his plaid pajama bottoms, “what on earth are you doing?”

“Looking at the froggies!” you shouted over the rain as thought it was the most obvious thing in the world. You pointed excitedly at the shrub, and he couldn’t help but shake his head fondly, heart swelling with affection for you, “it’s raining!”

“I can see that,” he leaned against the railing, arms over his chest as he watched, “baby, you’re getting all wet and you’ll get sick.”

“That’s an old wives’ tale,” you insisted, throwing your arms out spinning around, “come on, Eddie bear! It feels wonderful.”

He shook his head in amusement before deciding fuck it and stepped out into the rain and running over to you. He wrapped his arms around your waist and picked you up, spinning around a few times as you giggled happily. When he set you down, both of you dizzied and breathless, he looked at you with fervent intensity in those big doe eyes. You couldn’t stop yourself from leaning and stealing a few saccharine kisses from his pink, plush lips. 

“We’re getting a little wet,” he smiled that magical, toothy and dimpled lopsided smile that made your knees weak. He always had this specific way of looking at you that made it feel like he was falling in love with you all over again. He was - falling a little more every day. You shook your head, showering him with water droplets that were clinging to your hair.

“Just a little bit,” you agreed close to shivers because you were practically drenched to the bone from your time outside. Eddie was almost in the same boat, his normal waves and curls quickly becoming straight with wetness, “feels so good though. The first rain after a dry spell is always the best.”

“Come on under the covers with me!” his hand slid down your arm before finding your own, lacing your fingers together, “it’s freezing out here!” 

“Only if you agree to cuddles and staying in bed today,” you worried your bottom lip as you looked at him with big, soft doe eyes. There was never even a chance that he would say no to you. He nodded happily and you softened, “inside we go then!”

Before you could turn to walk back inside his trailer, he scooped you up and slung you over his shoulder effortlessly. You’d squealed in surprise at his sudden gesture and couldn’t help but giggle like mad as he made his way back inside, “Eddie! Don’t drop me!”

“I would never angel,” he promised, yelping in amusement as you smacked his ass a few times, “cheeky girl!”

He took off the boots on your feet and tossed them to the side before taking you back into the warmth of the small trailer. He set you down and looked you over, tutting slightly at how wet you were, his t-shirt sticking to our body like a second skin and legs bare. You offered him a sheepish expression as he grabbed a towel out of the hall closet. Holding out your hand as you expected him to pass the towel to you but he kept it and started to tenderly dry your hair, careful not to tug or pull or make any knots, “you don’t have to do that.”

“I want to,” he insisted softly with a kiss to your nose as he dried your face, “strip. Please.”

He ducked into his bedroom and pulled out a pair of sweats and a fresh t-shirt for you. Once he was back, you did as instructed and Eddie helped to dry off your body, only pausing to tickle you and cause you to squirm and laugh a few times. Once he was satisfied with his handiwork, he pulled on the shirt and helped you into the pants, making a small sound of satisfaction when you were bundled.

“My hero,” you sighed wistfully before pressing a chaste kiss to his cheek. His pale skin flushed a pretty pastel rose before he proceeded to dry off his own mop of hair. You’d tried to help but he’d stepped out of your reach, tutting slightly. 

He discarded his own plaid bottoms and pulled on a pair he’d grabbed for himself, holding his hands out and making a triumphant, “all better.”

“What would I do without you, Eddie?”

“I think you’d do just fine, angel.”

“Let me rephrase, I never want to be without you, Eddie,” you threw your arms around his neck and pulled him into your frame, letting him swallow and dwarf you. He smelled of fresh rain, his fruity shampoo, and the remnants of his cologne mixed with cigarettes; it was an intoxicating combination and it was easy to lose yourself in him, “I love you.”

“I love you,” he sighed softly, longingly and squeezed you tighter to his warm body, “silly girl.”

“I have one more request…”

“Name it.”

“Hot chocolate,” you grinned at him, “with mini marshmallows.”

“Now that I can definitely do.”

I commissioned @sunnysssol to create a fem!England piece. She’s based on Carey Mulligan and I can’t tell you how in love I am with her. (She’s my Lock Screen now) look at how glossy her hair is ❤️, the gentle curls, her face…..you get the picture.

Im not a fan of fem!england’s design and I’ve never really found one that I go “that’s the fem!england of my dreams” until right now.

Fem!England (Alice) found her style in the 40s and except for some experimentation in the 60s and the 80s she’s pretty much stuck to her style. She likes tweed and jumpers and knee length skirts and tights and this is pretty much her uniform when she’s not at meetings or at “events” she likes cozy and easy to move in since she spends most of her time outside tending to her garden/allotment so she wears durable clothes with wellies. When she’s indoors she knits/does needlework etc.

Granny/cottage core is back in fashion which England likes a lot.

France despairs of ever seeing England in anything fashionable, but he can admit that some of England’s clothes suit her and he doesn’t hate everything she wears. He will never tell her.

America adores England’s look, he thinks it suits her

Can you explain what you mean by this ?

Before the relationship with Harry was leaked Meghan dressed in shorts, ripped jeans and body con minidresses with a sultry pout. Her Reitman’s capsule was mini dresses and pleather pants and she borrowed workwear separates from the suits wardrobe. She posed in lingerie a lot.

She had one red dress with a flared skirt and one Erdem dress. That was the extent of her “princess” wardrobe.

When she met Harry she started to wear Barbour coats and wellies. Then when the relationship was leaked her press plastered that one red dress everywhere and bragged about her “princess style.” Then when she joined the royals she started to dress up for events looking a lot like Kate.

“Since I didn't like her straight away but it was hard to find people that felt the way I did at the time I actually googled "people who hate Meghan Markle" and Tumblr popped up.” I’ve been BRF fan since the 90s and William was the good looking, athletic guy reluctant to be king one day and Harry was the fun-loving party Prince. I thought Harry would be William’s Princess Margaret (sometimes wayward but fiercely loyal and do all of the social engagements the monarch didn’t/couldn’t do). I watched when Catherine came on the scene and then Chelsea and Cressida. Harry absolutely had a type, tall, blond, from a good family. Then we get to 2016 and there are rumors he’s dating some random American actress who no one has heard of with some dime a dozen blog and on some basic cable legal show that she’s not even the star of. Let’s face it, Suits is not Law&Order or SVU. Not to mention, she’s short, brunette, and not from a connected family. She appeared out of nowhere and all of is sudden has a VF cover? I thought for sure he’d end it then because none of his previous girlfriends talked about their relationship with him but Meghan did. Then there’s IG in Toronto and “the statement” and I knew she was going to be trouble. She made damn sure everyone knew they were together. She still does it, referring to “my husband” and Duchess of Sussex on every article ever written since they married. Superficially, she looked smug as hell too.

Yeah so when the news started coming out that he was "possibly" dating this divorced American actress I was like "yeah right..." then when it came out she was half black i thought "not a chance in HELL is this true" because let's face it...this is the guy who wore a Nazi costume and was known for throwing around racial slurs. No way was this story true. Then it WAS true and I thought, eh maybe he is turning a new leaf. Of course there was talk he didn't know she was half black until they had been dating a while and he was afraid to break up with her because he didn't want her to call him a racist.

While all of this was going on we got the spooning banana Instagram post and then the coffee cup with bracelets IG post. When that came out and you saw she was baiting someone into connecting the dots so she could FINALLY brag about her once in a lifetime catch I thought "she's toast...nothing Harry hates more than someone flaunting their relationship and talking to the press." Because at the time Harry was way more tightlipped about his life than William. Harry guarded his privacy fiercely and was known to drop people faster than a hot potato if they talked about him to the press. I never thought the relationship would get past this point.

Then Love Shield 1.0 and I was like you..."uh oh...we are in trouble here..." Also because there was ZERO evidence she was being harassed and she claimed in the statement. There weren't hundreds of paps chasing her down the street like Kate or Diana. In fact, it seemed that Meghan was courting and LOVING the attention. Smiling big and bright at the cameras and making sure to wear her "H" necklace. This is when I knew she was a manipulator and a liar.

Then when she was in London and kept walking in front of the Daily Mail offices to get photographed. She looked ridiculous walking around London in her "wellies."

When "Wild about Harry" came out I 100% thought "that's the end of her" so when they were engaged shortly afterwards you could have knocked me over with a feather I was so shocked. I expected breakup news, not an engagement.

rockstar eddie munson thinks any music is good music if it makes you happy

Eddie fucking loves having the money and connections to take you to any gig you like. He doesn't care that he might not like the band or know the songs. But his heart flutters watching you mouth the words to your favourite songs. His knees go a little weak when you dance around him as if you're in your kitchen and not in a crowd. He can't help but smile when he sees you grinning whilst you take in the performance.

Festivals are a favourite holiday for you both. Together in the camper van or yurt or whatever crazy place you've ended up sleeping in, you carefully analyse the schedule. Each of you having a highlighter and choosing who you want to see each day. Then the dungeon master in Eddie comes out so he can organise your path for the day.

He loves how you both gradually get tipsy throughout the day, stumbling around the festival site arm in arm, talking about who you're excited to see. He can never believe the look of pride you get in your face when someone recognises him and you always offer to take their picture and miraculously always have a marker on you so fans can get an autograph.

Your heart soars watching him go wild to his favourite bands, living out delayed teenage years from when he never had the money to go to gigs. You hold his jacket for him and make sure to have a bottle of water to hand for when the set finishes and your man is dripping in sweat and exhausted from getting swept into a pit. He'll usually strip his shirt halfway through and you'll hold that too. When you think he's having fun lost in the crowd somewhere, he's really looking back at you. Grinning with heart eyes at you as you scan the crowd for him with a warm look in your eyes. Why would he look at the band when he can listen to his favourite songs live whilst staring at your sweet face?

When it comes to watching your favourites, Eddie is pretty sure this is one of his favourite ways of seeing you. Watching you a little wasted and dancing round him, holding his hand and twirling round to songs he's heard you sing to yourself constantly. Your little festival outfits drive him crazy, your fur coats and wellies with your knees a little muddy from splashing around. Eddie wonders if a heart can burst because when your favourite slow or sad songs are played you'll come back to him, press against him and let his arms wrap around you. He feels the tightness of your grip on his hands and can sometimes see a tear in your eyes as you away together. He feels honoured to be included in this vulnerable private world you get lost in when you hear these songs. Letting his face bury into your hair to press kisses, he can hear you whispering along the words.

The traditions didn't end when you became parents. Festivals simply became a family holiday. He didn't care as people whispered 'Isn't he that rockstar Eddie Munson?' as they watched you all holding hands, dancing around wildly in a circle. He wore the glitter his daughters put on his face with pride and would get matching face paint with them if they asked. If you look hard enough, there's a video interview with him being asked about his favourite bands at the festival this year, he talks totally normally as if he doesn't have butterfly wings painted on each side of his eye. Whenever Corroded Coffin plays festivals, it's hard to focus on the crowd when he can see you and the kids back stage with homemade banners saying 'MY DADS ON GUITAR'. He prays the cameras can't catch the blush on his cheeks when he spots your T-shirt that reads 'THE GUITARIST IS SLEEPING IN MY BED TONIGHT.' His favourite part of the festivals though is how you, him and your three girls all curl up together to stay warm in the camping bed.

No matter who the pair of you go and watch live though, Eddie crumbles in your arms when you kiss his cheek to thank him for the tickets and whisper in his ear 'I still can't believe I got to marry my crush from my favourite band.' Even though you say it every single time.

I go to so many festivals and go to Glastonbury every year, and I just get so jealous watching it. Knowing what that must look like to look out and see the big field of people. I guess one of the main reasons I wanted to do them was to try and get newer fans onboard. I’ve been that fella who’s been hammered walking around a field in my wellies going to the bar and then stopped at a band I’ve never heard of, or seen an artist for the first time I’ve never heard of, and then being a big fan in the end. I want some of those drunk people to walk past and think ‘I’d listen to that album again’. Yeah kinda. Because you know what it’s like at a festival, all the big fans are down the front and they’re in the first 200 deep. So you’re playing to them, but you’re also playing to the wider audience who are not necessarily there for you. I’m excited about that. We’ll have fun on stage, and we’ll be playing the new record so it’ll be exciting anyway; we’re playing live for the first time in years. Playing for the fans and seeing them, and hopefully a few more people get an album or something like that [or] come to a gig further down the line.

This summer you’ll be taking the album on tour for your live festival debut. How are you preparing?
