It’s interesting you bring this up, because this is a cannon-diverted story. I know, I know, boooo lol, but how it diverts will become clearer in the next arc.

As of now, my goal is to tell a story, what I choose to keep or change about Anime or Games depiction is entirely up to whether or not it fits. Growing up and scrounging for any and all official mew content, I’d always blended my favorite aspects from the games and show together when it came to my idea of Mew/Mewtwo since I didn’t understand there was a difference ;u;” So when I started this blog, I left it murky and vague as to which I was following; if not both. Theres already been some explicit hints as to what will happen regarding Mew, Meau, and our unseen Mewtwo’s, but if I had to answer as to which path I’m following?

For me it’s never been very clear exactly how Mewtwo came to be in the games, the “Mew gave birth” entry on cinnabar island always struck me as more metaphorical then literal. Rather then Mewtwo popping out of mew, it was the scientists breakthrough of creating Mewtwo and thus ‘mew gave birth’ through their cloning/experimentations. As in the same entry in the Let’s Go games, say “We obtained a new Pokémon from Mew. We have named this Pokémon ‘Mewtwo’” this felt like they were leaning towards Mewtwo still being artificially made, just in different circumstances than to the anime. So with the origin being mostly the same for my perspective, it just comes down to what aspects I choose to include and what I don’t. An example being Newtwo’s existence, it’s unclear if there’s a second Mewtwo in the games! So I would keep that from the anime, while I may change how Newtwo came to be in the first place.

In the end, these entries are vague for a reason, they clearly wanted to keep Mew’s mystery and intrigue going; as well as leave it up to fans for interpretation!! Heck, that’s why we have so many damn fabulous mew/two blogs on here!! If you don’t agree with my interpretation, that’s totally fine ;D! But it’s still what my story will follow and I’ll make a timeline eventually for the pinned post for future reference!
