i keep seeing people compare the number of fics on ao3 against how many wolfstar has and saying "____" should have more

just shut up and go read what is there or write it yourself xx

#like first off that's wolfstar. get your conversation away from them #i saw one that was about dorlene which yes i love love love dorlene and i always love finding fics of them!#but that doesn't mean the nearly 5000 works already posted don't matter #like if i want to read dorlene i will go and search and find a dorlene fic to read not come online to bitch about how there needs to be more #i just wanna ask these bitches making these comparisons if they have read every single fic under the ship they're talking about #5000 is still a TON of fics maybe it's less than what wolfstar has but those are two different entities #just going on line to say look at many more fics x has than y! we need more y!' like oh my god shut up #read what is already there.#EXCEPT people aren't going to do that bc these little twitter and tiktok gremlins (derogatory) don't search on ao3 #all they do is wait for one to get popular and hop on that which is beside the point. since people are asking for them, here are my unpopular marauders opinions

(note, and i mean this in the most serious way: please, for the love of god, if you don't agree, just scroll. there is no reason to cause drama over some unpopular opinions of some random tumblr user just because you don't agree with me.)

remus is my least favorite character. don't get me wrong, i love him to bits, he's just the least intriguing to me. he's the character we've been given most of; not only that, i find sirius and james' character, as well as peter's (and his betrayal), as far more interesting

i don't really like jegulus for the same reason as remus; the dynamic is interesting, there is a lot to work with there, including the death eater and order member dynamic, but i just find some ships as more interesting

most of the characters are written as super one-dimensional and therefore i do not like most fandom characterizations which is a crucial point, to me, in whether i read the fic. i like fics in which the characters are written as real people, with human emotions and flaws, and not some qualities thrown together

some wolfstar shippers are pretty much the most annoying people in fandom (coming from a wolfstar shipper). shipping the only consistent ship in this fandom does not make you inherently better than everyone else, and just because someone else splits wolfstar for other ships dynamics does not mean anything

the black sisters and the evans sisters, if written well, can be more interesting than the black brothers and i don't think we talk enough about them (i also find the black brothers are really interesting, and i need more fics in which the intensity of these dynamics are explored)

i dislike the main characterization of regulus in fandom, being a huge fan of morally grey regulus. however, each with their own characterization, and i'm no one to judge next. i find him to be a very interesting character, however, and i like fics that dive deeper into his character

people who ship jegulus and hate lily for no reason need to chill; furthermore, people who hate mary and lily for "getting in the way" of their mlm ships are... i'm not going to comment on this, but you probably know what i mean

"stan bambi" comments on snape videos are really annoying because the very same way we don't like (and sometimes get aggressive) over snape lovers attacking the characters we like, why are we doing that to other people?

i need more peter-centered fics, and i do not like him only being a sidekick or ignored. also, mary is also a very interesting character, and i don't think we credit her enough for it

dorlene > wolfstar

the girls are far more interesting than people make them out to be and i NEED an atyd-like fic (long canon compliant etc) from their povs. it's not a want, it's a need, and i might just write it myself, because i think that a fic like that has a lot of potential

dorcas is morally grey and i need more fics in which that is a thing

this might be my most unpopular opinion but i prefer lily to regulus; i find them both to be very interesting characters, but i find myself more drawn to lily

pretty privilege is REAL in this fandom. bet that if peter and snape were conventionally attractive, they would be as loved as evan, barty, and regulus

i do not see sirius as transfem but why do people have to be so pressed about this hc. lif you don't see it, shut up, move on with your day, and let people who see it do their thing; this fandom is TOO pressed about other people's hcs

i kind of dislike fanon james because they strip him of all humanity and emotions, and make him a ray of walking sunshine with no issues (hence my essay on it, which you can read here)

james would choose sirius over regulus any day

What was the HP fandom on AO3 writing in 2022?

some stats diving, ship- and femslash-focused.

default filters used for everything unless indicated otherwise: language: english, no crossovers. only on AO3 (obviously)

hmm someday i'll do a yearly breakdown maybe.

for reference, there were ~324,676 total works in the HP tag updated in 2022 and before, so the top ship Drarry makes up 16% of HP works.

ships in this list but not the former: jegulus, dorlene, and regulus & sirius.

ships in the former list but not this one: snarry, sevmione, tomarry.

harry the character is tagged in 42.7% of all HP works.

the list of "fastest-growing HP character tags in 2022" was almost identical to this. sirius, remus, james, and lily went up one place, severus and ginny down by one, and ron dropped by two. no change in the top 3.

i'm thinking of doing one for HP ships but am unsure which ships to do. you can get a rough estimation from graph #2 though!

A closer look at just the 2022 ships:

filters used: english, no crossovers, works updated between 2022-01-01 and 2022-12-31.

color = ship type by canonical gender. outlined = canon ship

Background vs main pairing ships:

most commonly tagged ships, with the otp:true filter:

very pretty spread of (canon gender, not AO3 category) F/M & M/M ships here.

notable: there is not a single snape ship in the first list, and two snape ships in the second (sevmione at #4 !! and snarry at #8). grindeldore is the other new entry, and

romione, dorlene and regulus & sirius fell out of the top 10

this is probably a better view though:

a mix of all ships in either of the top two graphs (excluding the platonic ship regulus & sirius by definition of the otp:true filter), plus remadora.

open to more ship suggestions, but at some point i need to think about a size cutoff

anyway: some interesting strata here:

snarry+sevmione at the >60-70% mark. (do all snape ships show this trend? just crossgen snape ships? what about other crossgen ships? to be investigated)

grindeldore is an expected outlier due to the different canonical time period

marauders era tends to have more fics-with-multiple-tagged-ships. unexpected - there are so many more named lightning gen characters! lightning gen fandom more splintered/fragmented?

clustering of canon couples at the 15-20% mark, surprisingly consistent across marauders vs lightning gen

oooooo i could soapbox about this dorlene outlier for days. (tldr: if you want to write OFCxOFC that's all well and good, but writing OFCxOFC as what's quite clearly a background ship and a background ship alone? i think we can do better.)

Multi-shipping & ship overlap

marauders era is dominated by one main fanon pairing. no other “/” pairing with either of these two characters makes the top 10 list. in contrast, wrt lightning gen, Draco, Harry, and Hermione are all shipped with each other, with all three combinations making the top 10 list.

there is one pair of marauders era ships with ship overlap, though. which means stats! also included remadora as an additional comparison point since that's another big overlapping ship

jegulus AND jily are tagged in 675 works, out of 3944 works (17%) where all three of james, lily, and regulus are tagged.

meanwhile drarry + dramione: 80 works tagging both ships, out of 8128 works tagging all 3 characters, with an overlap of <1% fics tagging both ships. these two do not mix.

tried two ways of filtering down to just femslash ships without losing too much else in the process:

1) excluding works tagged M/M, F/M, and Gen (leaving 2765 fics)

dashed outline = cross-gen ship. solid = marauders gen. everything else = lightning gen.

oh, interesting, people are writing genderbend wolfstar? *checks fics* -- no they're not. 'nuff said.

2) instead, tried adding the otp:true filter (2402 fics)

very similar results -- both lists had the same 9 femslash ships. Bellamione (#1 on both), Fleurmione (#2), Pansmione (#3/#4), Dorlene (#3/#5), Linny (#4/#6), Cissamione (#5/#6), Ginmione (#7/#9), Marylily (#7/#9), Ginsy (#8/#10).

i don't see any obvious trends re. which ships are ranked higher on one list vs the other.

a real quick rating comparison between categories, using the otp:true filter:

"angst" and "fluff" were the top two tags used for most categories so i decided to try a bit of:

<1 = more angst works than fluff, >1 = more fluff works than angst.

the other top tags for each category:

F/F and F/M: both romance (#3)

M/M: established relationship (#3)

Multi: polyamory (#3)

Other: au canon divergence (#3). "other" was used to refer to a mix of NB/trans character, thingfic, and x reader.

Gen: au canon divergence (#1). i was worried about using the otp:true filter for gen fic but the top two tags were indeed & tags (harry & severus, regulus & sirius).

i may never post it bc i have never (properly) written before and am scared lol but you never know

A/N:Enjoy this while I work on my other fic! This one might end up being kinda long.

Summary: When you suggest to take a break, things don’t quite go as planned.

You sighed softly as you sat next to Barty on his bed, trying to keep your nerves under control. “What did you want to talk about?” Barty asked softly, smiling as he rested his head on your chest. You ran a hand through his hair, feeling horrible about what you were about to do. Things had been stressful recently, and your grades had been dropping way too much. “I-I think we need to take a break.” You said softly, waiting for Barty to lash out and get mad at you. But he didn’t. He just sighed, curling up on your lap.

“How long do you need?” He questioned, pulling you closer as he buried his face in the crook of your neck. “A-a week maybe?” You suggested, once again waiting for Barty to yell at you. But he didn’t. Instead he just nodded in understanding, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. “That’s fine. A week isn’t that long.” He said with a shrug. He hugged you even tighter, and you couldn’t resist the urge to roll your eyes.

“I don’t think you quite get how a break works.” You teased, playfully nudging him. Barty chuckled, smiling up at you. “Just savoring the moment.” You rolled your eyes once more. “Are you savoring the moment or are you just clingy?” You asked with a giggle. Barty chuckled, shrugging a little. “Both.”

Things went surprisingly well. You guys managed to get through the week without talking to each other. Apart from a few stolen glances in class or the hallways, you didn’t interact. However, things all went downhill when a week stretched into a month.

You don’t know how it came to this. The two of you had agreed to start talking to each other again Monday morning, but somehow a week had turned into a month. You still caught Barty’s gaze every once in awhile, but apart from that the two of you kind of just ignored each other. The weird part was that you didn’t even miss him.

You were splayed out in the common room, sitting between Lily and Marlene on the couch meanwhile Dorcas and Mary sat on the floor. “I don’t know, it just feels weird. I feel perfectly fine, which I shouldn’t because I haven’t talked to my boyfriend for an entire month.” You explained, fiddling with your ring. “Honestly, you’re way better off without him.” Marlene said with a shrug, popping a gummy worm into her mouth. “Girls are better anyways.” She added, winking at Dorcas who was sitting in front of her. You rolled your eyes, leaning back against the couch.

“Whatever happened to ‘all Slytherins are bad’?” You challenged, and Marlene rolled her eyes. “Oh shut it.” She said playfully, throwing a pillow at you. You caught it, tossing it behind you. “Ow!” You glanced back at the voice, laughing as you saw Sirius holding a hand over his eye.

“Y/n, we have a problem.” Sirius exclaimed, a serious expression on his face. All of the laughter instantly died down. “What’s wrong? You look worried. Sirius Black is never worried.” Mary exclaimed, sitting up straight so she could properly see Sirius. “It’s Barty.”

You hurried down the hallway, struggling to push through the crowd. You finally fought your way to the front, your eyes landing on a very bruised Barty standing in the middle of the crowd, his eyes trained on the bruised and bloody Ravenclaw in front of him. “Say it again, I fucking dare you!” Barty spat, his hands balled into fists. He made an effort to lunge for the guy again but Evan and Regulus held him back. Remus and James held the Ravenclaw boy back, keeping the two from clashing again.

Evan and Regulus pulled Barty away, dragging him towards the Slytherin dorms. You glanced back at him, your eyes filled with worry. “You should go check on him.” James said softly, coming to stand next to you while Sirius and Remus dealt with the Ravenclaw boy. “Whatever happened to you not approving of him?” You questioned, raising an eyebrow. “Yeah, well, I think he just proved himself.” You looked at James, a confused expression on your face. “Go. Your boyfriend needs you.” James said softly, as if he were trying to remind you of just how important Barty was to you.

You hesitated outside Barty’s dorm, trying to calm your nerves. You hadn’t been here in a month. You hadn’t even talked to Barty in a month. What if he no longer cared about you? But then James’ words echoing in your mind. ‘I think he just proved himself.’ That had to mean something. You hesitantly knocked on the door, waiting for a response. “Come in.” Barty called from the other side. You cautiously entered, your eyes immediately landing on where Barty was pressing an ice pack to a bruise above his eye.

You slowly went over to him, sitting down beside him. “You okay?” You asked softly, slowly reaching to touch him but then pulling back. Barty glanced at you, forcing a small smile. “I’m fine.” He lied. Barty studied you, trying to ignore the pain in his chest as he thought about you. How he hadn’t seen you in a month.

“Why?” You questioned curiously. Barty glanced up at you, raising an eyebrow. “That’s all you have to ask? Just…’why’?” He questioned curiously. “That’s all I need to know.” You responded, sighed softly as you sat on his bed.

“He said something he shouldn’t have. Had to set him straight.” Barty’s words were firm and filled with bitterness. You met his gaze, knowing there was more to the story. Barty sighed before continuing. “He was planning to ask you out. I know it wasn’t a big deal, but I…I didn’t want him to steal what little hope I had left…” Barty said softly, his eyes filled with hurt as he stared at the ground.

Your gaze softened, and you resisted the urge to reach out and hug him. “I’m sorry. I should’ve reached out.” You said softly, your hand slowly moving towards his. Barty took your hand without hesitation, holding it tightly. “It’s not entirely your fault. I didn’t reach out either.” Barty said softly, a look of guilt crossing his face.

You gently took his face in your hands, smiling as you looked at him. “You gonna kiss me or what, Junior? Barty’s gaze narrowed at the nickname, and a pout slowly formed on his face. “Don’t call me junior, you know I hate it!” He replied with the saddest expression he could manage, which wasn’t very effective. You laughed, placing a gentle kiss on his lips. “I love you, idiot.” You said softly. “I love you too, moron.” Barty replied, hugging you tightly.

You smiled as you bounced up to your friends, who were sitting under a tree in the courtyard. You sat next to Sirius, giving a friendly smile to Remus, who was currently lying in his lap with a Book in hand. James was rambling about a certain dark-haired Slytherin, meanwhile Peter absentmindedly played with a blade of grass. Lily and Mary were busy talking about potions class, meanwhile Marlene just looked around in boredom.

You enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, basking in your friend’s warmth. That was, until, the usual Slytherin crowd came to ruin the peace. Evan and Barty ran over, making a lot more noise than necessary. Evan playfully shoved Marlene, and Barty ruffled Lily’s hair. Regulus rolled his eyes at his friend’s antics, claiming his place next to James. Dorcas had a smile painted on her face as she sat in Marlene’s lap, making herself right at home. Evan climbed into the tree, helping his sister up with him. Pandora’s legs dangled below her as she leaned against a thick branch. Barty finally stopped taunting the others, collapsing next to you with a grin.

Barty sat behind you, his head resting on your shoulder as his hands found purchase on your waist. You sighed, leaning against him with a smile. “Woah, wait a minute. Since when are you two a thing again?” Sirius asked with a raised brow, leaning forward in curiosity. You blushed, and Barty smirked as he kissed your cheek. “Doesn’t matter. As long as it continues to get on James’ nerves.” Barty said with a laugh. You turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow. “And I love you, too. I’m with you because I love you!” Barty said immediately, jumping to his own defense without hesitation. You rolled your eyes, resting your head in his chest as you listened to your friends banter back and forth.

a mini Dorlene fic where Marlene is just gay and obsessed with her pretty gf bc why not. so ig it's a oneshot or whatever. also sorry about the quality I wrote this in like an hour

(it's a little suggestive towards the end but other than that it's just fluff)

Marlene had always been mesmerized by those pretty, dark eyes and long lashes- not that she'd admit that to anyone other than her lover. Her deepest thoughts about Dorcas weren't for anyone but the two of them to hear.

She stared into those beautiful eyes now, the soft fire light reflecting onto them. Dorcas needed to study for the big exams that were coming up, and while Marlene was never the type to study, she would willingly give her Dorcas some company while she did.

They were sitting in the Gryffindor Common room, the only sound to be heard was the crackling of the nearby fire. Marlene decided to sit on opposite end of the sofa as Dorcas, in hope to not distract her from her work.

Marlene reached over and carefully tucked a few of Dorcas' braids away from her face, so she could get a better look at her. Every inch of her seemed to be perfection to Marlene. Her eyes, her hair, her nose, and gods, those beautiful lips that made Marlene's heart flutter. Dorcas' smile rivaled the beauty of the moon itself, but nothing could even remotely compare to the sight of her smirk. Any time Marlene saw it her mind was clouded with thoughts about her darling Dorcas.

"You're staring again." Dorcas' eyes were now on Marlene who hadn't even realized she had looked up from her book.

"Sorry," she mumbled in response. "Didn't realize."

"Oh no, it's fine. I know you can't help yourself, and how could I blame you? I do look pretty beautiful in this lighting, don't I?" Dorcas smirked, and a familiar feeling overcame Marlene.

"You look beautiful in any lighting, Dorca." Marlene whispered to herself. Dorca. The nickname had originally been an insult for her rival back in their first few years of Hogwarts, but had since been re-purposed as a pet name for her love. How she hadn't always loved her like she did now is a question Marlene often asked herself when thinking back to those earlier years.

To Marlene's surprise, Dorcas quickly packed up her things, as if she was about to leave. It didn't take long for the latter to notice her girlfriend's sudden unease.

"Relax, Marls. I'm not leaving yet, I'm just taking a study break." Dorcas assured her. Marlene let out a little sigh of relief. She'd have a bit more time with her girlfriend after all.

"Now, are you going to just sit over there and stare at me all night or are you going to come over here?" Marlene quickly obliged to Dorcas' words and moved closer to her.

Even sitting so close to her didn't ease much of the blonde haired women's need for physical affection from her girlfriend. It didn't take long for her to move again, electing to just sit in Dorcas' lap, her legs on either side of her lovers thighs.

Marlene nuzzled her face into the crook of Dorcas' neck, taking in her usual sent of old books and roses. Dorcas played with the blonde's hair in return.

Only her Dorcas was allowed to see her like this; her usually nonchalant and cool mannerism thrown to the wind and replaced with a much gentler and more caring side.

"One of these days, Dorca, I'm going to buy you a huge diamond ring, and we'll move into a nice place in London together where you can open your bookstore, just like you always wanted." Marlene grumbled into her girlfriend's neck.

"Not if I buy you a huge diamond ring first." Dorcas laughed.

"Nope, I already said I was going to first. So, you can't. "

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that won't we?" Dorcas wrapped her arms around Marlene, a small comfort to the both of them.

Life after Hogwarts together was a topic they often discussed nowadays, with the end of their seventh year getting closer and closer by the day. They hoped to settle down in a house in the city together, and Dorcas could fulfill her dream of opening her own Cafe and book store nearby. Marlene planned on trying out for a professional quidditch team, and would accompany her lover in her small business during off seasons. Looking even farther in the future, the hoped to have a couple kids of their own. A perfect little family to love and care for. Of course, that'd be in the far future with an upcoming Wizarding war. They'd like to think about the endless possibilities of their futures together nonetheless.

"Are you going to get back to studying now?" Marlene groaned as she rubbed her eyes sleepily.

"I had something else in mind." Dorcas gave her a mischievous smirk, and suddenly Marlene didn't feel so tired anymore.

"I love you so much." Marlene whispered before her Dorcas gave her a long, passionate kiss that made it hard for either of them to think.

"I love you too, Marls."

Strawberry Popping Candy- dorlene- in which, marlene isn't expecting anything interesting to happen in this new town,at most she might meet a freind or discover a cool café. but it's probably going to be just like it always is.she changes her mind when she meets dorcas meadowes at the skateparkand is offered some of her strawberry popping candy

Sk8er boi- wolfstar- in which sirius has been doing ballet since he was 7 years old, always told to avoid the "rougher boys" that hang around the alleys beside the studio, then he comes across remus lupin,who proves to him that 1,theyre not that bad, and 2, his parents aren't always right about the world.

It's Twilight- an interesting half joking half not fic that is basically twilight, but better and gayer with one of the ships. it can be pretty much any pairing.

Bloody Kisses- jegulus + wolfstar-victorian/edwardian era- sirius and regulus are vampires, remus and james are vampire hunters that just got out of school. when regulus kidnapped the two and brings them back to the castle as "food" he doesn't expect him and sirius to fall in love with the two boys.

okay so this is another historical one but ssshhh I like history- litteraly just them but in the victorian era or something. idk we just need more historical aus because i want to read about my gays and my favourite time periods!

litteraly just their hogwarts years or a muggle au boarding school thing that's slytherin skittles instead of marauders centric because i love those guys so much. obviously dorlene and rosekiller and probably jegulus with wolfstar and everything else going on but it's more background bc it's not about them rn

Ice Cream Sundaes-any ship,maybe wolfstar tho?- in which [blank] is sick of working at an ice cream parlour in order to make money over the summer and [blank] is eating an awful lot of ice cream in order to see a certain boy/girl. basically one of them is on holiday with some freinds in Cornwall or Wales or something and they keep dragging them all to this ice cream place to see the other an dthen one day they get a napkin with their ice cream with the others number on it and "call me?" written on it. and then we get cute summer movie nights and dates on the beach and shit.

• Timeless- wolfstar or jegulus- where one of them (probably one of the black brothers) is immortal or a vampire or something and every time the other is reincarnated they fall in love, the tale of them falling in the present day, maybe with flashbacks to previous times when similar stuff happened. with angst about the immortal worrying because "they're just going to die again"

anywayz there's a bunch of my ideas that I can't be bothered to write,feel free to use them or even just imagine them if you really want. and if no one sees this then oh well

@lesbianmckinnonn inspired me i’m sharing my fandom unpopular opinions:

sirius black is a complicated, cruel, loyal, and reckless character. he acts first and thinks later when it comes to his actions, while simultaneously being a whirlwind of emotions and overthinking. sirius is COMPLEX and i love him

sirius and severus are two sides of the same coin. sure, severus is methodical while sirius is reckless. but they are both cruel and angry, with complex motivations turning from the way they grew up in favor of the people they met along the way. they made mistakes, they made wrong choices, they act on emotions not thoughts.

regulus could have a lot of texture and drama, but it’s definitely weird to me that instead of doing that we’ve gotten a lot of sirius’s original characterization attached to him. i have a lot of hcs about him! hell, i’m writing a whole fic about him & sirius!!! however, i think that a lot of the fandom has kind of boiled down sirius and then attached a bunch of cast off traits to him.

if i go thru the dorlene tag one more time and see a bunch of posts that are about all of the male characters in this fandom i’m bringing a Gun™️

i think that the way that wolfstar has been changed over the years in fandom is based on an influx of people who are basing their takes on fanworks, without rooting their understanding in canon. fanon is a place to play, so i’m not judging, HOWEVER i think by ignoring or sidestepping the canon for these Casanova remus x helpless puppy sirius portrayals people are robbing themselves of texture and complexities in their work. i think that engaging in fanon without referencing any of the flaws of the characters robs writers of writing things that excite them

i think that we all as fandom creators need to take a look at how we treat our characters as they relate to our own internal biases. it’s not lost on me that i only started publishing dorlene in the last few weeks because i know they won’t be engaged with in the way my wolfstar fics have been. i know that peter gets left out of the marauders equation a lot because he’s ugly. i know that lily is a less popular partner for james then regulus because lily is a woman.

that being said, i also know that as queer creators, we are more likely to write queer couples. we are also more likely to be critical of queer couples. i am keeping that in mind as i write this post

sirius may love remus, but he will always pick james. sirius’s loyalty is to james first, and everyone else comes in second. it was one of the reasons that they thought pete should be the secret keeper, because everyone knew that sirius would be the first choice for the role. it’s also why (i believe) sirius and remus stopped trusting each other, which lead to everyone believing that sirius had swapped sides. he never told remus, his loyalty was to james, not remus.

Am I reworking Amber of ember glows? Yes. Here are the changes I am making:

I am taking out the unrequited Jegulus because I decided I had more solid ways of creating the strange 'I hate you but desperately want to be your friend' conflict between them between them aka even more Sirius drama (poor guy needs a break)

Darksun are getting a 'friendly academic rivals' arc because I am incapable of writing them without them having a tiny bit of hatred for each other at the start that is weighed out by their obvious crushes

Crystalflower are endgame

Dorlene are getting some related works that span throughout the plot of the main fic

We get a little more focus on Barty's daddy issues (why the hell not)

Effie has an 'unnamed Slytherin ex' that is mentioned a few times (10 brownie points for the first person to guess it)

mutuals marching pt 1.

(i've been wanting to do this in the spirit of the trend started by @broomsticks and highlight a few of my favorite mutuals on this site.

I keep my circle small, and as I've slowly stopped writing fanfic and my "content" has become less and less, the mutuals in my circle have also decreased, and left me with a small but mighty crew. I would like to highlight some of those folks on this last day of march. part 1

@maybebabyplease (you had to be green)-- my newest mutual and someone i am greatly enjoying doing business with. (though it has been a short arrangement so far, i am looking forward to many many many more months). discourse with you is unmatched and i am so thrilled to have you here (and be able to reap the benefits of your wealth of knowledge of OG fiction). My Rec: Em's microfics (QUEEN of compelling stories in so little words???) and surprisingly booksmart. not a pairing i typically go for ever (its moonseeker, what.) but this is so sweet and cute. and i'm a sucker for valentines day and regulus is perfect in this. the end.

@dykefever-- i exist in lauras sphere as someone who screams in their DMs and won't shut up, and i am thrilled she is still mutuals with me after all the nonsense I've shouted in her direction. I've said it before and I'll say it again that i cannot get enough of her writing-- she had me at "here we are, again" (perfect wolfstar, not a single coherent note), fucking ran me over with a truck at "beautiful boy" (the moonchaser of all moonchasers, the ancient text, i swear), obliterated my heart with "seasons in desire" (which to this day is still the only fic i have bookmarked on my AO3; and as someone who doesn't regularly read Dorlene, UGH) and its currently bringing me back to life with the shape and sound of god. do yourself a favor and check her out, but be prepared to have your world shattered.

similarly @steelycunt this is a boyband concert, i am front row, screaming, pulling my hair out over every word they write. Unbeatable. i would love to write half as good as ridi can one day when i grow up. but additionally, they are also my go to person for Cardboard Box Wet Noodle Accurate takes on Remus Lupin. Remus Lupin is just "some guy" and that is all. everything ridi writes is gold but if you need somewhere to start: in lieu of beaujolais was the first thing i read from them and i was SOLD. signed up, done for. and on issue of fever and delight is the only post-prank wolfstar fic i will ever read. RUN don't walk to their AO3 (also i would be silly if i didn't mention how much i appreciate ridis reading taste, and i actually first connected with them over the essay titled there is more than one way to love a book)
