masterlist
***this masterlist took forever because I had to scroll through SIX YEARS worth of work. this is the most updated masterlist on my page so use this one if you need navigation :) ***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who I write for:
-BTS💣
-NCT🟢 (mainly anyone that was apart of NCT 2018, but if you want WayV, I can do that!)
-Seventeen💎
-EXO❌⭕️
-Monsta X 🫡 (but I'm emotionally scarred from Wonho so idk...)
& sometimes SHINee
UPDATE 02/28/2024: girlies i have nothing to say about ATEEZ anymore, it's just not gonna happen so I took them out of the ML😥sorry. BUT, I will now be adding *some* second gen groups because the fics are LACKING. I already said in the past I would write for SHINee and I stand by that! I just don't have much to write for them atm. Does anyone want a BF!Minho? idk...Who wants SUJU? Well, it doesn't matter cuz I do😁 I will also add Jaejoong from TVXQ/JYJ, not the whole group for TVXQ cuz I'm really only familiar with him and Junsu. I will also start up again with EXO so keep a look out if you like those fics. Anyways, this was just a PSA I wanted to make.
🔍navigation help + notes🔎
-If a group is crossed out it means I no longer write for them
-Please don't be afraid to request something. idc if it's anon or not. if you want something written, just send in a request :) it will encourage me to get to whatever group someone requested faster. as long as they're mentioned above, I'll write for them (only because I like to be familiar with the members so I can write accurate depictions of them)
Tumblr media
The only thing he ever knew was her beaming smile and teasing words.
It was endearing.
Kind of.
Actually, Jisung was fed up with it.
Despite that, he never wanted to show it. He didn’t want to say anything for fear that he would upset her. Jisung didn’t want Sohyun to suddenly change how she acted around him because of something he said.
Jisung was always very careful whenever he spent time with Sohyun. He wanted to say it was because she was older than him, but in reality, Jisung knew that he just had absolutely no experience at all when it came to girls.
Im Sohyun was Jisung first girl friend.
Girl-space-friend.
Sometimes Jisung resented that.
He was convinced that if Sohyun wasn’t in the grade above him he would be able to act normally around her. Jisung liked to think that if Sohyun were his age, he could confidently confess his feelings to her. Unfortunately for Jisung, she was ten months older than him.
“What are you daydreaming about this time?”
Jisung was jolted from his thoughts when Chenle sat down at the desk in front of him. Jisung’s eyes snapped to Chenle and he sighed. Chenle was in Jisung’s grade, but for the first time ever, the two friends weren’t in the same class.
Chenle and Jisung had been in the same class together since they started going middle school. However, despite not being in the same class, Jisung and Chenle were each other’s neighbors, so Jisung saw plenty of Chenle every day.
Being born less than four months apart, Jisung could comfortably say that he would never be caught dead calling Chenle “hyung”. Jisung didn’t think his pride could handle that.
“Oh,” Chenle smirked, “I know exactly what you’re daydreaming about,”
Jisung made a face, “And what’s that?”
The face that Chenle gave Jisung only made Jisung’s disapproving expression deepen as Chenle leaned closer to Jisung. Jisung leaned away from Chenle but the older boy grabbed him by his collar and yanked him closer.
“This is about Sohyun, right?”
Jisung could feel Chenle’s smile on his ear as he jolted away from him. Jisung made yet another face at Chenle and shook his head.
“No, why would it be about her?” Jisung denied.
“Denial is a river in Egypt,” Chenle sang.
“You’ve been spending too much time on TikTok,” Jisung rolled his eyes as he shoved his friend’s face away from him.
Chenle shrugged, “Whatever,” he leaned back in his seat and gave Jisung a more serious expression, “Do you really not have any feelings for her?”
Jisung took a moment to think, trying to make it believable. Jisung had kept his feelings for Sohyun a secret pretty well. Even though Chenle was one of Jisung’s closest friends, he was still hesitant to confess his feelings for a senior out loud.
“No,” Jisung said.
“Oh, cool,” Chenle nodded, “One of the guys wants to ask her out so,”
Jisung froze, “Who?” he asked, trying to keep calm. Jisung tried his hardest not to seem eager or shocked by the statement, but in reality, he could feel his chest tighten. Suddenly, Jisung was breathing manually, trying to keep himself from demanding Chenle all the information he knew.
“Renjun,” Chenle replied easily, not picking up on Jisung’s behavior. “He’s in the same class as her, apparently they’ve been getting closer lately,”
Jisung pressed his lips together.
“He was thinking about asking her out after the retreat,” Chenle said.
Jisung just nodded. His cheeks puffed up a bit like they did when he was thinking or unsatisfied with something. Chenle stared at his friend before clearing his throat and jumping to his feet.
“Anyways,” Chenle tried to say, “It’s meeting time right?”
Jisung nodded, “We’re going over the final details for the retreat,” he said, “Has Haeun been talking to you about it?”
Chenle nodded, “Yeah,” he signed as they made their way down the hall to the meeting room, “I think she’s pretty stressed out about her role as the class president. She’s been freaking out about this retreat for the past few weeks,”
Jisung hummed gently. He knew how Haeun got when things stressed her out. Chenle was the student representative for his class but with Haeun in his class, he often heard all of her panicked rants. But despite Chenle’s constant complaints about the girl, Jisung knew that Chenle secretly had a crush on her.
Jisung, himself, was a class representative, and that was the main reason he knew Sohyun. Sohyun was the student council president. Renjun was the vice president.
When Jisung and Chenle made it to the meeting room, almost everyone else was there already. A few people trickled in behind Jisung and Chenle, including Haeun. The girl made her way over and sat down next to Chenle.
“Is everyone here?” Haeun whispered to Chenle as she took out her notebook.
Chenle shook his head, “I think we’re still waiting on some of the third-year reps, and the presidents,”
Haeun sighed as she flipped through the pages of her notebook, “We still have a lot to go over,”
Chenle chuckled, “I think we’re in pretty good condition,”
The door to the meeting room opened again as the last few members of the student council walked in. Jisung’s expression brightened a bit as Sohyun and Renjun stepped into the room.
Sohyun’s eyes fell on Jisung and she waved to him with a bright smile. Before Jisung could wave back, Sohyun was quickly greeted by her peers, all of whom ran up to her to ask about her week. Sohyun replied to them kind-heartedly, but her eyes kept drifting to Jisung.
When Sohyun finally managed to get everyone back to their seats, she made her way around and stopped next to Jisung. Her smile was contagious and Jisung couldn’t help but smile right back at her.
“Hi,” he said.
Sohyun smiled, “Hey,”
“Hello,” Renjun appeared behind Sohyun. “You’re blocking the way, Sohyun,” Renjun joked, “Come on, let’s go,” he gently took her arm and pulled her toward their seats leaving Jisung.
Jisung watched as they sat down and turned away. His cheeks puffed up a bit as he let out a sigh. Sohyun glanced at Jisung and noticed his puffy cheeks and smiled to herself. She pulled out her phone and sent a quick to Jisung.
Jisung glanced at his phone and felt his cheeks heat up.
Don’t pout, Jisungie :) The text read.
“Alright,” Sohyun turned back to the group and pulled out her notebook, “let’s get this meeting on the road,” she smiled at the others and they all nodded.
Jisung tried his hardest to pay attention to the meeting. He really did, but his mind kept wandering to Sohyun. He liked how her delicate features were framed by her long hair. Her eyes crinkled happily whenever someone brought up a good idea. Or her lips would play into a gentle pout when she was thinking hard.
“Last thing,” Sohyun said bringing Jisung out of his trance. “We have funding from the school to buy some materials for s’mores. We just need some volunteers to go out and buy them when we get to the location of our retreat. Unfortunately, that would mean that you might miss some of the activities,”
Some of the student council members all looked around, seeing if anyone would want to volunteer. No one wanted to miss any of the activities during the retreat.
“I’ll go,” Jisung said eventually and raised his hand.
If he was being honest, he didn’t really care if he missed out on some of the retreat activities. They were fun, but Jisung wouldn’t be horribly disappointed if he missed one or two.
“Alright,” Sohyun smiled, “Jisungie, Renjun, me, and it would be nice if one more person joined,” Sohyun looked around the group.
Jisung kicked Chenle from under the table. The boy glared at Jisung, who gave him a pointed look. The two seemed to be having a silent argument with their eyes. Sohyun couldn’t help but find their behavior amusing.
Finally, Chenle sighed and raised his hand.
“I’ll go too,” he said with a defeated look at Jisung.
“Perfect,” she smiled as she wrote down Chenle’s name, “Alright, you are all free to go,” Sohyun said to end the meeting.
As Jisung was packing up he felt someone tap him on the shoulder. Sohyun smiled brightly up at him and Jisung felt his stomach do a little backflip. He immediately felt self-conscious standing next to the girl. Sohyun was tall for a girl but despite that Jisung felt just a bit too tall compared to her. His hair hung too low in his eyes and his lips were suddenly chapped.
“Jisungie, what are your plans for this afternoon?” Sohyun asked.
“Not much,” Jisung said. “Chenle and I were going to head back home,”
Sohyun smiled, “Want to join me and Renjun? We’re going to a cafe,”
Jisung glanced at Renjun, who seemed to be in the middle of a conversation with Chenle. He looked back at Sohyun hesitantly, “Are you sure, noona?” he asked.
In his mind, if Renjun was planning on confessing to Sohyun, it meant that Sohyun must have shown some sort of interest in Renjun to have the latter convinced that it would be a good idea to confess. He didn’t want to come in between them if that was the case.
Sohyun laughed at Jisung’s nervousness, “You’re so cute,” she gently pinched Jisung’s cheek, to which he just rubbed it gently when she let go. “Of course, you can join us.”
Jisung blushed at Sohyun’s comment, “Right,” he looked away, suddenly having trouble meeting Sohyun’s bright eyes.
She seemed to notice his nervousness and couldn’t help but suppress a smile. Sohyun pressed her lips tightly together and pretended to rub her nose to hide the downturned smile that forced its way to her face.
When the four got to the cafe, Sohyun offered to go place the order for the group. As she went to the counter, the three boys found a table by the window to wait for her to return. Jisung sat down and pulled his phone out to start playing his game. Renjun glanced at Jisung before looking at Chenle.
“Hey, Jisung,” Renjun said eventually.
“Hmm?” Jisung asked not looking away from his game.
“Do you have feelings for Sohyun?”
Jisung paused and looked up at Renjun. The older boy seemed to be very serious about the topic and it made Jisung fidget in his seat.
“Uh, no,” Jisung said.
“That sounded like a question,” Renjun replied.
“Hyung, let’s talk about this later,” Jisung said trying to evade the topic. But now Renjun was giving Jisung a funny look. Jisung pressed his lips together and looked away. His eyes drifted to Sohyun as she made her way back.
As Sohyun sat down next to Renjun, she noticed the oddly tense air between the three boys. “They said it would be out in a few minutes,” she smiled trying to diffuse the tension. Renjun nodded and turned to Chenle with a smile.
“Anything new you want to tell us about?” Renjun smiled. “Maybe between you and Haeun?”
Chenle shook his head, “Not to you,” he rolled his eyes and Renjun reached over to grab Chenle by the ear.
“Hey, that’s ‘hyung’ to you, you little brat,” Renjun scolded Chenle.
Sohyun smiled at the boy’s bantering and glanced at Jisung. Their eyes met and he quickly tore them away. His lips pressed into a tight line as he turned his attention back to the phone, a light pink dusting his cheeks.
– – –
“Did we get everything we needed?” Sohyun asked as Chenle and Jisung joined her and Renjun in the line for the cash register.
Renjun glanced back at Jisung, who held a whole basket of marshmallows in his hand. He turned forward again, counting the money that the school had given them. Jisung cleared his throat and nodded in response to Sohyun.
It had been a while since Renjun confronted Jisung about his feelings toward Sohyun. For the most part, the boys had gone back to normal. But whenever Sohyun was with the two there was a tension that pulled between the two.
“Alright,” Sohyun smiled as she took the basket from Jisung. She gently ruffled his hair, “You’re so helpful, Jisungie” she beamed at him, as an older sister would to a younger brother.
Jisung pouted and Sohyun’s smile only brightened. He hated being treated like a child, especially when it came to Sohyun.
“Cutie,” she cooed before turning to the cashier and placing all their supplies down. Once the materials were paid for, the four decided to spend a little time walking around the area before heading back to the retreat location.
Sohyun and Renjun walked side by side talking about something that neither Chenle nor Jisung could hear. Chenle slid in next to Jisung and elbowed him in the side.
“What?” Jisung rolled his eyes.
“You like her,” he stated more than asked.
“It doesn’t matter,” Jisung replied.
“It does,” Chenle shook his head, “Because Renjun likes her too,”
Jisung frowned, “Well, lucky him. At least he’s not treated like a younger brother,”
Chenle frowned and opened his mouth to say something when Renjun stepped toward the boys. They both paused and looked toward the older boy, who seemed to be avoiding eye contact with them.
“Can we talk?” he asked Jisung.
Chenle looked back and forth between the two before rushing toward Sohyun, pulling her away to a food stand nearby. Jisung watched, his mouth slightly agape at his friend’s willingness to ditch him.
“Hey, Jisung,” Renjun said.
“Hmm?” Jisung immediately turned to his friend.
“I confessed to Sohyun,”
Jisung froze. His heart suddenly beat loudly in his ears and his hands tensed. He wanted to be happy for Renjun, but inside Jisung was screaming. He hated the idea of Sohyun possibly dating someone else. He didn’t want her to date someone.
Suddenly, Jisung was regretting everything he had done that entire year. He regretted not making more of an effort to spend time with Sohyun. He regretted not trying to act more mature so that she wouldn’t treat him like a kid.
He wanted to be the one that she could count on. He wanted to be the one that she could lean on and go to when she had a rough day. He didn’t want to be the “younger brother” friend. He didn’t want Sohyun to see him as a kid.
Even so, Jisung couldn’t tell Renjun that.
“That’s great, hyung,” Jisung smiled.
Renjun gave Jisung a look, he noticed Jisung’s tightly clenched hands despite his face smiling. Jisung’s body was tense and rigid but he still managed to put on a pretty good act. Renjun couldn’t help but chuckle at the younger boy.
“I got rejected,” Renjun said.
“What-?”
“She said that she likes someone else,” Renjun cut Jisung off.
Jisung couldn’t tell if he was relieved or upset. Of course, Jisung felt bad for his friend, but he also couldn’t help but feel a little relieved. Sohyun didn’t like Renjun.
“You should confess to her,” Renjun said as the two started walking toward Sohyun and Chenle.
“What?” Jisung asked in shock.
“I mean, you like her, right?”
“Yeah, but-”
“Then just confess,” Renjun smiled. He stopped a few feet away from Sohyun and Chenle and turned to face Jisung with a bright smile, “Something tells me that it will work out,”
– – –
Jisung could tell that Chenle and Renjun were scheming. Ever since Renjun told Jisung to confess to Sohyun, the two of them had been slowly getting further and further away from them. Whenever Jisung tried to sneak closer to them, they would shove him away
If Sohyun sensed anything, she didn’t show it. She would give Jisung a bright smile and either pinch his cheeks or mess up his hair.
“Hey,” Chenle called to the two, “Renjun and I are going to run back to the store to buy some drinks,”
“Oh, we’ll go with,” Sohyun said.
“Don’t worry,” Renjun waved his hand, already turning around to walk away, “It’ll only take a moment, we’ll meet you at the bus stop,”
Jisung gave a panicked look at the two boys, who only smiled at him brightly. Chenle winked at Jisung as he threw his arm around Renjun’s shoulder and the two boys disappeared. Jisung watched his friends disappear, an anxious feeling settling in.
“Jisungie,” Sohyun said causing Jisung to look down at the girl. “Let’s walk around a little more since they’ll take some time,”
Jisung nodded hesitantly and followed Sohyun. He walked behind her, watching as her long hair swayed back and forth. In the back of his mind, Renjun’s words kept repeating in his head.
“Just confess, something tells me that it will work out,”
Jisung could feel his heart hammering against his chest. Jisung fidgetted with his hands, unsure of where to hold them. His mouth suddenly went dry and he could feel his chest tighten in anticipation.
Sohyun hummed gently to herself, her hands held behind her back as the bag of marshmallows bumped into the back of her leg.
“Noona,” Jisung said staring at the back of Sohyun’s head. “I like you,”
There was only silence.
Why is there no response? Jisung thought to himself. Did I say it in my head?
 “I know,” Sohyun finally said.
Jisung stopped. Sohyun stopped as well and turned to smile at Jisung. Her smile was no different than the ones that she usually gave him. If Jisung’s confession had her flustered, there was absolutely no sign on her face.
Jisung frowned gently. She didn’t take him seriously. She thought he was just joking.
“I’m being serious,”
“Who said I didn’t take it that way?” Sohyun smiled at Jisung. She turned on her heels and started to continue walking. Jisung followed after her a few paces behind. His eyes stuck to the back of her head.
Did I just get rejected? Jisung blinked in confusion.
“Jisung,” Sohyun stopped and smiled brightly at Jisung, “I like you too. Will you go out with me?”
The slow widening of his eyes only made Sohyun’s smile brighten. She laughed gently at his expression.
“Y-yeah,” Jisung stuttered. He felt his face heat up and quickly looked away from her.
Sohyun smiled and started walking again. “We should go, hopefully, Renjun and Chenle aren’t waiting for us at the bus stop,”
Jisung nodded and started to follow after Sohyun. His mind was still blank. Somehow he expected his confession to be much more… dramatic? Well, no. Maybe not dramatic, but he expected more of a response.
“Noona,” Jisung said, catching Sohyun’s attention, “How can you reply to my confession so nonchalantly? Were you not nervous at all?”
Sohyun looked up and Jisung and smirked, “Why? Should I have made a heart-racing confession?”
“No, it’s just,” Jisung looked away, his cheeks and ears suddenly feeling hot. He felt like a kid whenever he was with her. “I felt like my heart was going to explode. You didn’t seem fazed at all by my confession,”
Sohyun laughed gently, “If you didn’t like my reply, then you can always confess to me again,”
Jisung watched as she walked away, her hair swishing back and forth. A smile gently pushed its way onto his face and he took a few quick strides to fall in beside her. He reached down to take it the bag of s’mores materials away from her and then slipped his hand into hers.
“No, it was perfect,”
Se alguém lhe dissesse há dez anos atrás que você um dia teria uma família feliz, com não apenas dois filhos lindos, felizes e saudáveis, mas também dois maridos lindos, felizes, e saudáveis, você provavelmente riria na cara da pessoa. Mas a vida às vezes dá viravoltas, e você não poderia estar mais feliz do que está atualmente.
Porém, mesmo que você estivesse vivendo a vida dos seu sonhos, ainda assim ás vezes ela era difícil, para dizer o mínimo. Afinal, viver em uma casa com mais quatro homens que, apesar de você amar mais do que tudo, ainda são homens, não é uma tarefa fácil. E por este e outros motivos você estava nesse momento tendo que assumir o papel de mãe chata e dramática que dá bronca em todos.
“Eu pedi uma única coisa pra vocês todos, só uma!” Você disse, tentando não gritar mas falhando. “Tinham apenas que conseguir cuidar de si mesmos por um final de semana, um único final de semana, para eu poder ficar em paz com a minha mãe no hospital!” Você sentiu um nó se formas na sua garganta, e sabia que estava prestes a chorar, por isso decidiu encerrar logo seu discurso antes que perdesse a postura. “Mas parece que vocês gostam de me levar ao limite! Eu sinceramente tenho medo do que pode acontecer com essa família caso alguma coisa aconteça comigo!” Disse, se virando para sair de casa.
“Amor… não diz isso.” O Ten, um de seus maridos, disse, segurando o seu pulso de forma delicada.
“A gente sente muito mamãe…” O Hajoon, seu filho caçula, que tem 6 anos, disse logo em seguida, se prendendo a sua cintura e também quase chorando. Porém, por mais que isso partisse o seu coração, você soltou-se dos dois, se afastando.
“Eu preciso respirar um pouco.” Disse, já com a voz fraca, saindo de casa. “Tentem não piorar as coisas até eu voltar.”
Os quatro ficaram observando você sair pela porta, sabendo que não deveriam mais interferir. Assim que a porta fechou, no entanto, os dois que tentaram te parar viraram furiosos para os que até então estavam quietos.
“Por que você não falou nada pra mamãe, Hyung?” O caçula disse para o Seojun, seu filho mais velho, que tem 9 anos, e teria sido fofa a carinha de bravo dele, se as circunstancias fossem outras.
“É, por que não falaram nada para a mamãe?” O Ten disse, dirigindo um olhar duro para o Jaehyun, seu outro marido, que apenas suspirou em resposta, passando o braço pelo ombro do filho mais velho, que estava visivelmente chateado também e o puxando para perto.
“Desculpa…” Disse o Seojun, olhando para baixo.
“Vocês viram ela, não ia adiantar de nada falarmos qualquer coisa agora…” O Jaehyun falou, e o Ten suspirou, passando as mãos pelo rosto e se jogando no sofá. “A gente errou feio…”
Tumblr media
“Têm certeza que conseguem cuidar de tudo?” Você disse, pegando as suas chaves do carro. “Ainda dá tempo de eu ligar para o meu irmão e pedir para ele ir no meu lugar…”
“Relaxa jagi… não confia na gente?” O Jaehyun perguntou, te dando um selinho, e você apenas ergueu uma sobrancelha em resposta.
“Vamos ficar bem.” O Ten disse, rindo e também lhe dando um selinho. “Pode ir e cuidar da sua mãe… e se precisar de nós, é só ligar.”
Você apenas concordou em resposta, e logo saiu de casa, após se despedir dos pequenos. A verdade é que estava com o coração na mão de ficar longe pelo maior período que já ficou longe da sua família toda assim, mas a sua outra parte da família precisava mais de você no momento. A sua mãe tinha sofrido um acidente de carro, que não foi fatal, mas ainda assim os assustou muito. Ela precisava que alguém ficasse com ela durante o final de semana, e você logo se prontificou para isso, querendo estar ao lado dela em um momento tão difícil.
“Eu disse que pode ir pra casa, filha… os meninos devem estar precisando de você…” Sua mãe disse, te observando olhar nervosa para o telefone. Era sexta-feira à noite, faziam apenas três horas que estava no hospital, mas já estava inquieta.
“Não, não vou sair mãe, estou aqui para cuidar de você hoje.” Você se levantou de onde estava, andando até ela e ajeitando um pouco os travesseiros em que estava encostada. “Eu só estou com um mal pressentimento… mas deve ser porque nunca fiz isso antes, tenho certeza de que eles estão bem.” Sorriu.
E de fato, eles estavam. Pelo menos até aquele momento.
Tumblr media
Durante a noite tudo ocorreu de forma tranquila. Todos cozinharam juntos o jantar, jogaram um jogo de tabuleiro enquanto tomavam sorvete como sobremesa, e logo estavam todos em seus quartos, prontos para dormir.
“Nem está sendo tão difícil cuidar deles, não sei porque a S/N estava tão preocupada…” O Jaehyun disse, se deitando do seu lado da cama enquanto observava o Ten terminar sua Skin Care.
“É… mas devo admitir, as coisas estão estranhamente tranquilas, até quando ela está aqui eles não são bonzinhos assim… não lembro a última vez que eles passaram uma noite inteira sem brigar desse jeito.” Guardou o último produto que tinha usado, indo até a cama e se deitando também.
“É verdade…” O mais novo respondeu. “Mas talvez seja saudades da S/N, ou preocupação com a avó deles…” Terminou, apagando a luz e se ajeitando para dormir.
“Espero que sim…” O Ten completou, fazendo o mesmo.
Como já era de se esperar, a calmaria acabou de forma rápida. Na verdade foi logo pela manhã do dia seguinte que o caos começou. E quando eu digo caos, é de forma genuína.
“O que houve?” O Ten disse, ainda meio tonto de sono, entrando no quarto dos meninos, e sendo seguido pelo Jaehyun logo atrás.
“O Hajoon vomitou na minha cama!” O Seojun disse, nervoso, olhando para o mais novo que estava acuado na prórpria cama.
“Eita que nojo.” O Jaehyun disse, mas logo se prontificou em ir tirar a roupa de cama suja e a levar para o lado de fora, enquanto o Ten se aproximava do pequeno.
“Você tá passando mal?” Ele perguntou, se sentando do lado dele e colocando a mão em sua testa, para ver a temperatura. “Que estranho, não comemos nada fora do normal ontem…”
“Acho que foram os doces que o Seojun Hyung me deu…” Ele falou antes mesmo de raciocinar o que tinha dito, fazendo o mais velho já o olhar bravo.
“Fica quieto, Hajoon!” Ele gritou, bem no momento em que o Jaehyun entrou, já olhando estranho para a situação.
“Não fala assim com o seu irmão, ele tá doente.” Falou, sendo cortado pelo Ten, que se levantou, nervoso.
“Ele não está doente, eles comeram doce escondido…” Suspirou, olhando para o mais velho. “Por que fez isso? Se quisesse alguma coisa era só pedir… sabem que não podem comer as coisas sem limites, exatamente para não acontecer isso aqui.” O Ten terminou, e o seu parceiro concordou.
“Nada teria acontecido se não fosse por esse bebê chorão!” Ele falou, apontando para o mais novo, que logo se levantou para se defender.
“Eu não sou bebê chorão.” Ele disse, apesar de começar a chorar logo em seguida.
O que aconteceu em seguida foi de uma rapidez absurda. Em um instante, eles viam os seus dois filhos brigarem cada um de um lado do quarto. E, no instante seguinte, havia um pequeno bolo de crianças no chão do quarto, brigando e rolando de um lado para o outro. É claro que os seus maridos foram rápidos em separar os meninos, mas infelizmente não rápidos o suficiente.
“Aaaaii!” Ele ouviram um grito agonizante vir do mais velho que fez com que todos paralisassem por um instante. “Meu braço! O Hajoon caiu no meu braço, papai tá doendo.” Ele caiu no choro, e logo ambos os pais estavam o acudindo de forma desesperada.
“Pega o carro e coloca o Hajoon lá, eu vou pegar as coisas do Seojun e já vou lá com ele também.” O Ten disse, já se levantando, e o Jaehyun concordou, pegando o mais novo no colo, que logo também começou a chorar.
“Pai, eu machuquei o Hyung? Ele vai morrer?” O pequeno disse, aos prantos, enquanto era colocado no carro, enquanto o Ten fazia o mesmo do outro lado do banco.
“Não, ninguém vai morrer.” O Jae disse. “Mas você machucou o seu irmão sim…” Prendeu o conto no caçula, que logo se virou para o mais velho.
“Me desculpa Hyung, foi sem querer…” Ele disse, visivelmente chateado.
“Não tem nada pra dizer pro seu irmão, Seojun?” O Ten disse, já se sentando no banco da frente.
“Tudo bem…” O mais velho respondeu, apesar de estar olhando para o lado de fora da janela enquanto o carro saía. “E, me desculpa por te fazer passar mal…”
“Tudo bem, eu te perdoo.” O mais novo respondeu, com um leve sorriso, fazendo os dois homens na frente sorrirem um para o outro também.
Tumblr media
”Ué, que estranho…” Você disse, olhando para o seu celular, e fazendo a sua mão tirar a atenção do programa que assistia na tela do seu notebook. “Recebi uma mensagem do convênio dizendo que o Seojun deu entrada aqui no hospital…”
“Será que foi engano?” Sua mãe questionou, e você de ombros, fazendo ela voltar a falar depois de ficar em silêncio por alguns instantes. “Talvez seja melhor ir verificar… se qualquer forma, se for engano, você já pode resolver.”
Você acabou por concordar, garantindo que estaria de volta assim que possível. Infelizmente isso acabou demorando mais do que o esperado.
Você foi até a área da emergência, lugar onde o erro parecia ter cometido, mas assim que colocou os pés lá percebeu que não era um erro.
“Ai meu Deus, o que vocês estão fazendo aqui?” Você falou, assim que avistou os seu dois maridos sentados em umas cadeiras.
“Merda…” O Ten falou, baixinho. “Não tinha dito que ela tava no outro hospital?” Ele sussurrou nervos para o Jaehyun.
“Acho que confundi…” Ele respondeu, igualmente baixo, bem a tempo de você chegar neles.
“O que aconteceu com o Seojun?” Você disse, mas mal foi possível dar uma chance para eles responderem, porque logo sentiu um par de bracinhos rodar a sua cintura.
“Mamãe!” O seu filho caçula, e você se virou apenas para se deparar com o seu mais velho com o braço totalmente engessado, e um olhar desesperado. Ah, mas você ia matar os seus maridos.
Tumblr media
“E se a gente comprar um presente pra mamãe?” O Hajoon disse, amuado no colo do Ten, que apenas suspirou em resposta.
“Sua mãe não quer presente… ela só queria que a gente tivesse ficado bem para ela poder cuidar da vovó…” Disse, de forma doce, e o pequeno concordou.
“E se a gente pedir ajuda da vovó?” Foi a vez do mais velho falar, abrindo a boca pela primeira vez desde que você tinha ido embora, e pegando todos de surpresa.
“Continue…” O Jaehyun disse, se aproximando dele e se sentando ao seu lado.
“A vovó é a única pessoa que a mamãe vai ouvir agora… se a gente falar para a vovó que estamos arrependidos de verdade, ela talvez possa convencer a mamãe a ficar menos brava com a gente.” Ele falou, e o restante concordou com a cabeça.
“O tio de vocês me disse que vai ficar com a vovó essa noite, então a S/N provavelmente vai voltar pra casa de qualquer jeito…” O Jaehyun acrescentou, também recebendo um aceno de todos, que já começavam a compreender o que deveria ser feito.
Tumblr media
“Têm certeza que não querem que eu fique?” Você perguntou para sua mãe e seu irmão. “Não é como se eu estivesse com muita vontade de voltar para casa de qualquer maneira…” Suspirou, e sua família se entreolhou.
“Pode ficar tranquila, gatinha.” Seu irmão disse, se levantando e andando até a porta. “Eu cuido da mamãe… vou só dar uma passadinha no refeitório e já estou de volta.” Ele falou, dando um aceno de cabeça para sua mãe, ato que passou despercebido por você.
“Filha…” Sua mãe disse, assim que ficaram sozinhas. “Lembra quando me disse pela primeira vez que estava namorando o Ten e o Jaehyun?” Você franziu o cenho, mas concordou com a cabeça de qualquer maneira. “Lembro até hoje que quase infartei na época, mas logo isso passou porque eu sabia que, apesar de tudo, você estava em boas mãos.” Você começou a imaginar onde ela iria chegar, mas deixou que terminasse de qualquer maneira. “Afinal quem melhor para cuidar da minha filha do que as duas pessoas que sempre a traziam bêbada, mas em segurança para casa quando você decidia encher a cara nos finais de semana?” Você riu de leve. “Ou os dois que te acharam em horas depois que fugiu de casa por ter brigado comigo, e te trouxe de volta também em segurança? Ou ainda os dois que fizeram questão de me buscar ás três e meia da manhã enquanto estava em trabalho de parto porque sabiam o quanto você me queria lá?”
“Tá tá… já entendi…” Você suspirou, e sua mãe riu de leve.
“Acidentes acontecem, S/N… mas nem sempre eles são um erro.” Você a olhou. “Olha você e seu irmão!” Dessa vez você riu alto, e sua mãe se juntou à você. “Você sabe que eles são bons pais… e também que se esforçam muito para todos vocês… seja menos dura com eles.”
Você suspirou, se levantando da cadeira onde estava e se aproximando da sua mãe, a dando um abraço carinhoso, mas delicado para não a machucar.
“Você está certa, mãe… eu vou lá ver os meus meninos.” Você disse, sorrindo e se afastando.
Tumblr media
Você ficou alguns minutos dentro do carro, quando chegou em casa. Pensando sobre como poderia se desculpar por ter sido tão grossa com todos mais cedo. A verdade é que tinha se arrependido de tudo o que tinha falado no minuto em que saiu da porta, mas sabia que ainda assim estava nervosa demais para lidar com eles na hora. Agora, porém, era diferente.
O que a sua mãe tinha falado te afetou mesmo. E você não é idiota, viu que ela estava trocando mensagens com o Ten e que eles pediram para ela falar com você, mas, ainda assim… ela estava certa. Os seus maridos sempre estiveram ao seu lado, nos seus erros e acertos, e ainda assim você virou as costas para eles quando estavam com problemas.
Suspirou mais uma vez, encostando a testa no volante por alguns segundos, ainda pensando em qual poderia ser a melhor maneira de falar com eles. Mas os seus pensamentos foram cortados por uma batidinha no vidro da janela.
“Seojun?” Disse, vendo o seu filho mais velho do outro lado, e logo sentindo o seu peito apertar ao ver o braço dele machucado, e se lembrar de como foi cruel com eles mesmo assim. Por isso, não demorou para sair do veículo, e o puxar para si, com cuidado para não o machucar ainda mais.
“Você tá bem, mãe?” Ele perguntou, e você se afastou um pouco, o olhando nos olhos.
“Claro que sim meu amor… quem deveria estar fazendo essa pergunta aqui sou eu, olha só pra você…” Disse, passando a mão pelo gesso, mas dando um leve sorriso ao ver que o caçula e os seus maridos já haviam o rabiscado.
“Mãe…” Ele disse, parecendo envergonhado. “Tudo o que aconteceu foi culpa minha… por favor, não fica brava com o Hajoon e os papais…” Você podia ouvir a vozinha dele começar a falhar, o que fez com que se abaixasse e segurasse o seu pequeno rosto para que olhasse para você.
“Não foi culpa de ninguém, meu amor… e não se preocupe, eu não estou brava.”
“Não?” Ele perguntou genuinamente surpreso, te fazendo rir.
“Não… eu amo demais meus meninos pra ficar longe por tanto tempo.” Respondeu, o dando um beijo na bochecha no momento em que a porta da garagem abriu, dando lugar à um Jaehyun visivelmente desesperado.
“Seojun?” Ele gritou, à procura do filho, mas congelou assim que te viu ali. “S/N?” Ele falou mais leve, correndo até você e te puxando para um abraço instantaneamente, mas se soltou pouco tempo depois, um pouco envergonhado. “Desculpa… sei que está brava, mas eu…”
“Tá tudo bem…” Riu de leve, se aproximando e o dando um selinho. “Eu também estava com saudade.”
“Eca!” Você ouviu um coro de três vozes, sorrindo quando viu o seu outro marido e seus dois filhos bem atrás do Jaehyun.
“Até parece que não quer um também…” Você disse, depositando um leve beijo também nos lábios do Ten, e causando mais um coro de ecas.
“Ainda bem que voltou.” O Ten disse, enquanto observava você abraçar o caçula. “Eu sei que pisamos na bola, mas a gente promete que isso nunca mais vai acontecer…” Você podia ver o arrependimento no rosto de todos eles, o que fez o seu coração doer mais uma vez.
“Se tem alguém que precisa se desculpar, esse alguém sou eu… vocês claramente precisavam de mim, e eu os deixei sozinhos e preocupados… me desculpem…” Assim que terminou de falar foi coberta por quatro pares de braços, o que te fez rir. Era bom estar de volta em casa.
Tumblr media
“Vai logo mãe!” O Seojun disse, rindo do quão perfeccionista você estava sendo com a assinatura do gesso dele. “Desse jeito quando acabar meu osso já vai estar curado.”
“Ei!" Disse, ofendida, mas sem conseguir segurar uma risada, que foi acompanhada pelo restante da família.
“Okay, vão ser duas pizzas, uma de quatro queijos e uma de calabresa, certo?” O Ten, que estava procurando algo para pedirem pela internet, perguntou, e vocês concordaram.
“Pronto!” Disse, orgulhosa do seu desenho no braço do seu filho, que apesar das reclamações também pareceu ter gostado.
“A gente não vai pedir sobremesa?” O seu caçula perguntou, fazendo todo mundo o olhar indignado. “Eu tava só perguntando…” Ele fez um biquinho, se escondendo atrás do Jaehyun no sofá, que logo o puxou para o colo quando todos começaram a rir.
“Acho que é melhor evitar doces por um tempo, filho.” O Jae disse.
“É, seu irmão tem só mais um braço, não vai ser bom quebrar ele também…” Você falou, fazendo todos rirem mais uma vez.
“Ei!” O Seojun disse, assim como você mais cedo, e você o puxou para um abraço apertado, que ele lutou contra com todas as suas forças, mas acabou cedendo.
“Ah é…” Você disse, de repente, chamando a atenção de todos. “O que foi que vocês disseram para a minha mãe?” Seus maridos se entreolharam com um sorriso, já sabendo que você descobriria.
“A gente pediu para ela dizer para você vir buscar alguma coisa aqui em casa, pra gente poder tentar se desculpar com você.” O Jaehyun disse.
“Só isso?” Franziu o cenho, recebendo um aceno positivo de cabeça dos dois.
“Sim, pode pegar meu celular pra ver, se quiser.” O Ten disse, dando de ombros. “Por que?” Dessa vez foi a vez dele franzir o cenho.
“Por nada não…” Disse, sorrindo de forma despreocupada, o que foi o suficiente.
É, a sua mãe de fato estava certa. Aqueles dois te amavam muito mais do que você se dava conta.
(Morning/Evening) Routine
with Hendery
{isso é ficção; part. do Xiaojun; romance; intimidade; fluffy; cenário doméstico; slice of life}
É acordada pelo tec tec tec das teclas, que reconhece ser do computador de Hendery. E logo após esticar os músculos num bocejo, de olhos pequeninos, visualiza a tela e seu namorado. Ainda de pijamas, Hendery está em frente a máquina ligada.
— Caramba, Hendery! — manha, atraindo a atenção dele, até então inconsciente de que despertara. — De manhã já, isso ligado...
— Na verdade, são duas da tarde — Hendery desdenha.
Duas da tarde de um dia com sol entre nuvens, como pode visualizar pelo cantinho da janela, daqueles em que a vontade de sair de entre os lençóis é mínima. Tem desejo de fazer panquecas e coar um café quentinho para um brunch com Hendery. Há morangos e amoras na geladeira. Talvez convidem Xiaojun.
Depois de tomar um gole de água, te encarando de sobrolho enquanto você se espreguiça mais uma vez e põe as mãos no rosto, ele volta para o aconchego da sua companhia, na cama.
— Como se você não pegasse o celular a primeira coisa da manhã pra olhar as blogueiras que você segue — te expõe. Seu tom de voz é divertido e lento, rouco, delatando que também acabou de acordar.
— Tsc, cala a boca...
— Vem calar — provoca, já se inclinando para alcançar seus lábios e cumprir a palavra.
Se beijam. Permanece com uma das mãos no rosto do namorado, o acarinhando no queixo. Hendery pega na sua mão, dedilha seus dedos. Ficam assim no instante, enquanto seguem o diálogo:
— Tomou banho? — você pergunta. Tem o lampejo de uma ideia.
— Tava te esperando — ele confessa.
Você se estende para pegar o celular da cabeceira. Descobre que, assim como Hendery diz, são duas e cinco da tarde. É como se fosse uma manhã arrastada, no entanto; a manhã de um feriado nacional, em que a maioria dos membros foi ver a família, e por isso, Hendery aproveitou a rara ocasião em que teria o apartamento praticamente para si, para te convidar a passar a noite. Embora Xiaojun estivesse lá ainda. Vocês o convidaram para comer pizza e depois brincaram de karaokê madrugada a dentro.
— Viu a foto que a Cecília postou da sua sobrinha? Ela cresceu muito! — você diz, colocando o celular nas mãos de Hendery, porque o bebê de Cecília não para de crescer e talvez as roupas que tenham comprado para ela precisem ser trocadas.
Hendery vê a foto e esboça um sorriso; toda a vez que vai ao shopping, ele se sente na obrigação de mimar a sobrinha. Mas bloqueia seu telefone e larga de volta na cabeceira, protestando, pois esse feriado é de vocês. Não de Cecília, sua sobrinha ou Xiaojun:
— Depois sou eu, né?!
Você se aconchega mais nos braços do rapaz. Está começando a ficar frio e é preciso reunir um pouco mais de coragem para sair da cama, escolher uma muda de roupas e entrar para o banho. Ainda que está tão confortável no acalento do namorado.
— Que tal a gente ir naquele café ao invés de ficar aqui? — sugere ele, o queixo raspando no topo de sua cabeça.
— Ah, eu tava a fim de fazer panquecas... pergunta pro Xiaojun se ele quer.
— Mas sou eu seu namorado. E a gente já fez isso da outra vez... — Hendery pende todo o corpo para o lado, meigo.
Travam uma batalha de olhares, testando quem se convence primeiro. Você, num salto, afasta o edredom e se levanta.
— Aonde você vai? — Hendery clama.
— Tomar banho, ué! Você não quer sair?
Se convence que o plano de ficar em casa de pijama irá, literalmente, por água abaixo. Mas é bom, assim evita fazer bagunça na cozinha. Chega no banheiro, abre o registro e se despe. Coloca a cabeça embaixo do jato fervendo de água, deixando que lave o seu aspecto preguiçoso. Logo, a porta do Box desliza e Hendery se infiltra para dentro.
— Como você não sai descamada desse banho?!
Ele sempre se surpreende com a temperatura, mas você gargalha. As palmas das mãos encontram o peito do namorado, dá-lhe um beijo no queixo. Ele te embala nos braços, apaixonado. O banho é mais rápido do que intencionam, regado a Hendery fazendo palhaçadas com a espuma do sabão e cantarolando para você como um cantor de ópera.
— Shh, vai acordar o Xiaojun! — sussurra entre um sorriso e outro, beijando-lhe estalado mais vezes.
— 'Hendery, vamos sair com o Xiaojun', 'Hendery, vai acordar o Xiaojun'! — ele debocha, fazendo uma voz estridente. — Não sabia que tínhamos tido um bebê!
Você faz uma concha com as duas mãos embaixo do chuveiro e joga água nele.
— Golpe baixo! — Hendery te envolve com os braços e leva para o jato de água, mudando rapidamente para a temperatura fria.
— Ah, tá bom! tá bom! — você ri ao sentir a súbita mudança, acompanhada de um calafrio. — Eu saio só com você! — se rende.
Hendery ergue os cantos dos lábios, vitorioso, e desliga o registro.
— Me chama de 'meu amor'? — pede.
— Bobão! — você brinca.
É atacada por beijos em seu pescoço e rosto enquanto a água seca em seus corpos.
— Vai logo, meu amor, ou a gente vai se gripar!
E quase sem desgrudar de você, Hendery abre o Box novamente para pegar a toalha. E torce, secretamente, para que Xiaojun não os tenha ouvido, pois jura que esses momentos de intimidade são mais especiais por ficarem apenas entre vocês dois.
Sea cruise
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yangyang (NCT/WayV) x GN!Reader; Genre: Mermaid AU, Fantasy, Fluff and Tragedy?; Rating: sfw, nc-17; Warnings: mermaid!yangyang including description of physical attributions just like webbed fingers, gills, scales, fear of drowning, hinted character death, yangyang is kinda too naive and doesn’t understand human needs for air; Wordcount: 1.531
Summary: You successfully avoided conversations with the high society and ended sitting on the deck of the yacht. As you relished in your loneliness you noticed something or rather someone in the water.
A/N: This is kinda based on a poem I found. And I kinda wanted to try a not happy ending... for once.. not sure whether it will happen again...
Tumblr media
A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.
~ William Butler Yeats
The pale moonlight as well as the lights of the sea cruise sparkled on the otherwise dark waves surrounding the yacht.
Even though a party played loudly on board of the yacht, the small platform at the end of the boat seemed serene and peaceful.
You sat on the edge of the platform, feet dangling into the cool water. During the nights the water became even colder but you didn’t mind it. Actually, you welcomed the cold, cooling your heated skin from all the champagne you had downed to even bear the presence of all the others still partying on deck.
Loud hollering and laughing reminded you how much you regretted joining this party, wishing you wouldn’t have let yourself get talked into this by the receptionist of your hotel.
You sighed deeply, splashing some water with your feet while you tried to focus on something else than the regret deeply nestled inside of your chest. Your fingers trailed the fabric of your clothes as a slight pout formed on your lips.
The boat had anchored at this spot and probably wouldn’t continue its way for another few hours if not the wee hours of early morning. For a split second you thought about jumping into the water with or without your clothes but the fear they would leave you behind, unknown you weren’t on board anymore, kept you in your place.
You longingly let your gaze wander over the surface of the sea, when you spotted something between the waves. A frown appeared on your face while you squinted your eyes, hoping to identify whatever you saw.
It disappeared ever so often between the small waves and you started to wonder whether you actually saw something or your mind was playing tricks on you. Thinking that you had too much champagne you lost your interest. Instead you leaned back on your arms and stared up into the sky, watching the stars twinkle above your head.
You weren’t able to shake off the feeling that you should keep on looking at the thing between the waves. You groaned silently and tilted your head, trying to find the thing within the water.
A gasp got caught in your lung when you realised it had come closer to the boat. You sat up completely, even leaning slightly over the platform as you tried to identify what you saw.
Your whole body shivered once your eyes told you, you saw a person and not something between the waves. You gulped heavily, heart racing within your chest.
Dark eyes met your gaze, almost hypnotising you and keeping you in place as the person came closer and closer. You were too stunned to move anyway, noting down every little detail you could make out the closer he came.
He pushed his blond hair out of his face, revealing webbed fingers and sharp nails before his hand dropped under the surface again. By now he was only an arm’s length away from you. Feeling bolder, since you didn’t scream or move, he pushed himself further out of the water.
Your eyes dropped to his bare chest, seeing some spots sparkling in green, purple, blue or yellow all across his skin. At first you thought of them as wounds but they changed the colour however the lights of the boat or the moon hit them. Mesmerised by the colourful play, you hadn’t noticed how he had placed his webbed fingers on the platform to your sides.
Your eyes wandered back up to his face, shortly stopping at his neck, where gills interrupted his otherwise flawless skin. Your gaze trailed further up, meeting his eyes again. A small smile spread over your lips as his stare reminded you of a puppy.
“Who are you?”
His eyes dropped to your lips, a slight frown appearing on his face. He shortly looked back up into your eyes before he focused on your lips again.
You had an inkling, he wanted you to repeat your questions. You smiled, this time asking him slower.
His eyes lit up in excitement and he pointed a webbed finger at himself. “Yangyang!”
You introduced yourself the same way with a wide grin, pointing at your own chest and saying your name slowly. You nodded almost giddily when he repeated it.
“It’s a beautiful name. Nothing like the names from my home.”
You nearly choked on your own spit, hearing him speak so effortlessly. And there you had been thinking he wasn’t able to speak your language at all. “Where is your home?”
Yangyang looked back over his shoulder, before he pointed one hand over the vast ocean side. “Not that far from here.” He grinned, revealing two rows of sharp teeth, when he turned back and saw you squinting your eyes in hopes of seeing something in the far distance. “Are you alone?”
You rolled your head from one side to another, contemplating his question. “Kinda, but not really. I mean there are a ton of others on deck.”
“Why aren’t you with them?”
“It doesn’t feel like I fit in that world”, you admitted with a shrug of your shoulders.
Yangyang pushed himself up and sat down on the platform beside you, craning his neck in hopes to see something from the deck.
You on the other hand stared down at his lap, not seeing legs like you had naively expected. Instead your eyes followed colourful scales down to a fluke that was half hidden by the water still.
“In what world do you fit?” Yangyang asked you, once he gave up on peaking at the deck. His attention turned back to you, his dark eyes trained on your face while he waited for your answer.
“I don’t know.”
He tilted his head in confusion, reminding you even more of a large puppy. “How can you not know?”
“It’s hard to explain”, you murmured and looked down at your hands.
“Where do you feel comfortable?”
You dwelled on his question for a while, pondering what you could answer without sounding stupid. A soft chuckle escaped your lips and you shook your head. “The last time I felt truly comfortable was in a bathtub, surrounded by water and truly at peace.”
Yangyang lit up in excitement. “Then you would fit in my world! We’re always surrounded by water! And we can swim with whales or play around with fish. It feels peaceful to do whatever you want!” Yangyang pushed himself back into the water, shortly disappearing from your sight before he broke through the surface again. “Come with me to my world.”
You knew you shouldn’t do it, you knew it was a stupid thought. Yet, your yearning for peace had become too great. You bit on your lower lip, still debating with yourself, when Yangyang held a hand up in front of you, offering you to take it.
“I got you.”
A smile spread over your lips and you nodded, tenderly placing your hand in his as you scooted closer to the edge of the platform. With a small yelp you dove into the water. The second Yangyang pulled you above the surface, you gasped loudly, feeling the coldness of the water creeping through your clothes.
“You’re going to love it!” Yangyang promised you and pulled you further away from the yacht.
You tightly held onto his hand, helplessly paddling with your legs despite knowing they were basically useless next to his strong tail. Your teeth began to chatter from the cold and your feet started to feel numb.
Yangyang pulled you against his chest, wrapping his arms around you. He even rubbed over your arms, though with his own cold body it barely helped. “I’m sure you’ll get used to it”, he said with a soft laugh and nodded reassuringly. “I can’t wait to show you everything!”
With that - and before you were able to take a deep breath - Yangyang pulled you down with him into the depth of the sea. As the light slowly vanished you noticed Yangyang almost glowed within the dark, being the only thing you could make out now.
Your lungs started to burn and your eyes got wide, realising what the dread blooming inside of you meant. Panic filled your thoughts and yet Yangyang only happily grinned at you, diving down deeper and deeper. You tried moving out of his strong hold, almost violently tapping his chest until he stopped and stared at you.
“What’s wrong?”
You wanted to cry, knowing you couldn’t answer him like that. Your vision blurred and you desperately tried to tell him that you needed air, pointing at his gills and your throat that was bare.
“I don’t understand”, he frowned and shook his head, “just tell me what’s wrong.”
You opened your mouth, ready to say you needed air but only bubbles escaped your lips, floating towards the surface and out of your reach. Dark spots appeared in your vision and while your mind raged in panic your body felt heavier than ever.
“Hey? What’s wrong? Tell me!” Yangyang shook you, pleading with you to say something but you barely registered it.
The last thing on your mind; He finally showed you peace.
♡ :: from flowers on her doorstep — na jaemin
{ 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 } the truth of it all was that he couldn’t ever go back to what they were before. the vivid memories of friendship were tainted in rose-colored glasses, blurring the moments of platonic love into that of romance.
he could never see her the same way anymore.
the dark color of her hair and the bright gleam in her eyes were now engraved in his memory forever. the things about her that he had never noticed before were now the only things he could focus on.
like the smile that she showed to no one but him, the way she laughed at his jokes and looked away shyly when he complimented her. the subtle chuckle whenever she was jealous, or the way she would roll her eyes at his flirtatious antics.
he had been accustomed to everything about her and had fallen deeply in love with all of it.
that was the truth.
na jaemin had fallen wildly, unbelievably, deeply in love with her and only her.
It wasn’t too far into your relationship when you broke down in front of Jaehyun. You didn’t know why but opening up to him just became natural.
To be fair, you were also a little ways past tipsy.
In fact, you were a bit deep into the soju bottle you had bought while sitting outside of the convenient store when you first met Jeong Jaehyun, himself. Of course, you didn’t know he was the CEO of Jeong Peach Corporation at the time.
Jeong Peach Corporation. A fragrance and personal hygiene corporation company whose audience consists of he’s, she’s, and they’s. The brand as a whole has this certain aesthetic that is appealing to those people. But Mr. Jeong Jaehyun himself also had a certain aesthetic that definitely matched the brand name he built from the ground up. His striking looks and simply the way he carries himself has men and women falling on their knees for him. But it was a little too late for them to capture his heart the way you did.
“Hey you! I can see you looking over here. How ‘bout’chu come over here and I’ll show you a piece of my mind,” you slurred and held up your fist.
He was almost taken aback. Not because he was Jeong Jaehyun and you had the audacity to speak to him like that (again he carries himself in such a humble way that that would never be the option), but he was simply minding his business, walking to his car until he heard the sound of your drunk voice. He was definitely not expecting a drunk voice while he was ready to go home right around midnight.
He chuckled to himself, too amused at the mere thought of you. But it was midnight and this was the darkest the sky was going to get. It was dangerous for you— for anyone— to be out this late, by themselves, downing a bottle of soju. Well, two and a half bottles of the infamous alcoholic drink.
“Who are you? And why are you out here so late? Drunk?” He laughed, tucking his phone into his pocket, slyly grabbing a chair and sitting by you.
“Suffering. It’s tough out here,” you took another shot.
“Hello, suffering. Why are you out drinking soju so late?” He teased. It was easy to get along with you it seemed, the alcohol brought out the extrovert in you.
“Hey! My name is Y/n. Not suffering…. I’m just saying I’m suffering because,” you paused. And he subtly leaned closer to you, wanting to hear the reason why you’re here by yourself, downing the whole damn bottle.
“…. Just because, okay. Now can you please go so I can drown my own sorrows by myself? I don’t need another pity party,” you sobered up for a moment, then went back to pour yourself another shot.
But before you could take the shot, Jaehyun grabbed it from your loopy hands and took the shot instead.
“Hey! You don’t just take someone else's alcohol! That was the last shot too! Now I have to go buy another bottle!” You pushed yourself up from your seat only to be met with the hard concrete ground.
“You shouldn’t be out here this late, miss Y/n,” he said, his voice laid with concern.
“Who are you to tell me that? I don’t even know who you are,” you pouted, still sitting on the ground. He sighed to himself, showcasing his deep dimples, and got up from his chair to help you up. He was going to try and take you home.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing?!” He wrapped his arm around your waist to keep you up.
“Stranger danger! Stranger danger! This man is trying to kidnap me!” You yelled out. Of course, no one would really hear you. Besides Bong Cha— who was a goodie-two-shoes for Jeong Jaehyun and Jeong Jaehyun only— who walked out of the company right after her boss had. She saw the whole thing go down.
“Stop it! I’m trying to help you!” He struggled, since you were kicking and flailing your arms around in order to prevent him from taking you.
“Help me, my ass. What do you want from me? Taking advantage of a poor, drunk, girl just trying to get in my pants? Get off me fucking psycho. My car is the other way,” you kicked some more. And he gave up, placing you on the ground once more.
“Please, Y/n, you have to work with me here. I just don’t want you staying out late. Who knows? You could actually get kidnapped if I don’t help you.”
“How can I trust you? I don’t even know your name. You may be handsome but it’s always the hot ones that are fucked up. More fucked up than me!” You exclaimed.
He sighed and rubbed his forehead. Maybe he should have just left you at the seven-eleven. But Jaehyun just sat on the ground next to you, a good distance away and observed your ridiculous, drunk, figure.
“I’m Jeong Jaehyun,” he started, “now can you please cooperate with me? I’m trying to help you, here.”
You looked up and squinted your puffy eyes at him. “In your damn dreams, you’re Jeong Jaehyun. Like I’d believe that. I may be drunk but I’m not fucken delusional.” Oh, but you were delusional.
You slowly raised from your seat on the ground and walked your way back to your car, which wasn’t actually where you parked it. The man followed you— sorta like a creep— just to make sure you were safe. But on the way to your car (which was not the right way at all), you bumped into Kim Bong Cha herself.
She hadn’t seen her boss behind you because it was a little too dark but she lashed out at you anyway, “Hey! Watch where you’re going dumb bitch.” You were about to pounce on her until he caught you before you had the chance.
“Let me go! Let me at her!”
The girl was shocked to still see her boss shielding her from you. And she felt embarrassed to let him hear the rude words come out of her mouth. Karma’s a bitch.
“I’m sorry, Bong Cha. Please, go home. And don’t discuss this to anyone. I’m just trying to help her,” he explained to his secretary. Ah, so she was his secretary. That makes a lot of fucking sense.
Quietly, she speed-walked to her car leaving the two of you alone again.
“Why didn’t you let me at her? She was being a rude asshole.”
“Y/n. She’s my secretary. And she’s always been like that. But don’t worry about her, okay. Please just let me help you,” he begged. It was too late for him to just leave you on the road.
You sighed, the dizziness was now getting to you.
“Fine. I need to get to my car, though,” you pushed him off of you.
“I don’t think you’re capable of driving right now,” he retorted.
“Then what the hell am I supposed to do?”
And that was how you ended up sitting in the passenger seat of Jaehyun’s luxury car (the one he drove that day was his Aston Martin DB11.)
That was how you first met Jeong Jaehyun.
So much for first impressions.
When you woke up the next morning (with a massive headache), you found the CEO asleep on your couch. All in your shitty apartment. And when last night's events finally hit, you felt like the biggest asshole on planet Earth.
Jeong Jaehyun was sleeping on your couch. In your shitty apartment that could definitely not even compare to his lavish lifestyle. You felt embarrassed all over again. God, what the fuck were you thinking?
You tried to clean up a bit before you woke him up but nothing would fix the slightly stained walls and the old furniture he was definitely a foe to.
After you cleaned up the place, he still seemed to be fast asleep, so you decided to cook up some type of breakfast for him. The rusty refrigerator only consisted of greens (that were about to go bad), a carton of eggs, and a gallon of water. Sunny side eggs, it is.
This was for sure nothing he was used to. He was a CEO after all. The CEO of one of the most popular global brands, might you add. Which made the whole situation so much more humiliating.
Whilst you were cooking, you looked over your shoulder because of the squeaking of the couch Jaehyun fell asleep on. You wanted to fall off the face of the Earth.
Quickly you set the eggs into a plate and placed them next to his water you had already set on the table in front of him. He had only been awake for five seconds and he was met with the hospitality of you.
“Mr. Jeong Jaehyun,” you started, “or— no, yeah. Mr. Jeong Jaehyun, sir, I’m so incredibly sorry for the inconvenience I left last night. You did not have to take me home. In fact you didn’t have to stay the night, which was kinda stupid on your part, not that I would ever call you stupid, even though I just did but-” he cut you off. You definitely rambled a bit too much.
“It’s okay, Y/n,” he slightly laughed, picking up the chopsticks from the plate and eating the egg.
You sat in front of the table, too defeated to say anything. Too defeated to even look at him— even in the few minutes he had been awake, he was more prestigious than you’ll ever be. You didn’t care about who he was. You really did, of course, but after the whole mess, you didn’t even want to be in his presence anymore.
“Why are you so quiet, angel?” The pet name made you feel even worse. Why was he being so nice?
You gulped and looked at him.
“I’m just- I’m so sorry about last night. I was just-”
“Suffering?” He cut you off once more.
The fact that he answered you and finished your sentence made you want to crawl up in a ball and never come out. Last night definitely placed number one in your list of horrible nights.
“Uhm… yeah, that. But-”
“Why don’t you eat, love?” This was the third time he cut you off and the second time he referred to you as an endearing person. He acted as if he knew you for his entire life.
“I’m uh- it- it’s okay. I’m not really that hungry so,” you trailed off, looking down at your hands while you played with your fingers. Just then, he shoved his chopsticks in your face. A piece of egg sat on it. He motioned for you to eat.
You quickly turned your head and shook it, pushing his hand back, “No!” You cleared your throat, “it’s really alright, Mr. Jeong.” You really don’t know why you called him that but it just came out. It was probably the nervousness.
“Jaehyun.”
“Jaehyun… It’s really okay. I mean this is also the least I could do- uhm- especially after last night. Also, my house is a bit of a mess, I'm sorry about that.”
Jaehyun noticed the neighborhood and apartment complex you lived in. Of course, Jaehyun was a nice person so he wasn’t going to comment on it but it was obvious he noticed the living situation you were in. But none of it mattered to him. He just wanted to make sure you got home safely.
“Don’t apologize about that, Y/n. Now eat.”
“I have more eggs in the fridge. I can make my own, don’t worry about it,” you felt your face flush with heat. He caved in and shoved the piece of egg into his mouth, still worried about you.
It was awkward for a long time until he finished his food. You took his plate and cup and put it in the sink.
“I’m sorry. Do you want to wash up? Or maybe-” he laughed.
He had a habit of cutting you off, and you’ve only met this man all of eight hours. Most of those hours you were out cold.
“Stop apologizing, love,” he smiled at you, dimples on full display.
“I’m sorry-” you cut yourself off this time. He laughed again. You were cute.
“I actually need to go to the bathroom. Could you show me where that is?” He asked. You nodded and pointed him down the hall to the left. He quickly thanked you and made his way.
Right when the bathroom door closed, you ran into your bedroom and plopped, face first, into the sheets. How degrading that was.
When Jaehyun was done using the bathroom he got out and called your name which made you scurry out of your room to meet him from behind. You forcefully smiled and waited for what he was going to say.
“Your car is still at the convenience store.” Your fake smile dropped as you scrunched your nose, remembering how he drove you home.
“It’s alright. I’ll walk there later. It’s no problem.”
“But-” this time you were the one to cut him off.
“You’ve already done so much for me. I owe you my life,” you joked.
He playfully scoffed and walked toward you, now directly in front of you,“Just let me drop you off. It’s a far walk.”
“I can Uber or take the bus. Really, everything is okay. I don’t need you to help me anymore. You helped me more than I needed last night and I owe you everything I have.” You were so stubborn. He wouldn’t give up, though.
And there you sat in the same passenger seat as last night.
“I’m going to wash up at my house first. Is that alright?” He looked over to you while at a red light. You had been looking out the window before he said that.
“Of course. Take all the time you need. I’m in no rush.”
You underestimated the home Jaehyun lived in. It was pure luxury. Fenced-in house with a security system (that, alone, probably costs more than your apartment), green upkept grass, and a beautiful white exterior and interior that screamed majestic, mature, and regal. It made your home feel like a shit-show. It made you feel completely horrible about yourself.
“Please, come inside,” he opened the passenger side door for you.
Shakily, you unbuckle the seatbelt and exited his car. And he just sweetly smiled at you the entire time. It made you want to cry.
He led you to the front door with his hand hovering the small of your back. You could feel the heat of his hand through your shirt. You took off your shoes and followed him inside.
It was very bright and very aesthetically decorated. With plants (which you weren’t sure were fake or not), paintings that you had never seen before, and knick knacks that seemed too expensive for you to even touch. But he led you past everything in his house and went straight into his bedroom. He had a whole couch and side chairs as well as a fireplace. It was just as grand as the rest of his home.
“Uhm, you can sit on the bed if you’d like. Or the couch, I don’t know. But I'll be done shortly. Please, make yourself comfortable,” he held your arm, informing you. But you were too stunned to speak, so you nodded your head instead.
You sat on the couch, it was a little weird for you to sit on his bed when you barely knew anything about him (and he barely knew anything about you). Plus, you were too busy gawking at his house. And it made you feel self conscious again. It made you feel small; like you didn’t belong. Which you didn’t. So you don’t know why Jaehyun seemed so comfortable with you.
He came out of his bathroom— that was attached to his bedroom— buttoning up his shirt with damp hair. He took as quick of a shower as he could, to not keep you waiting. And through the reflection of the mirror, he could see you with your head facing down again, probably playing with your hands.
“Y/n, love,” he called out. You whipped your head around to his voice, not expecting that to escape his lips.
“Can you please help me button this?” You don’t understand why he called out to you as if you were his lover. Or at least someone he was comfortable with. Couldn’t he see that you were a bit lost?
You sighed to yourself and wiped your palms against your pants, hesitantly walking up to him.
Carefully, you buttoned up the rest of his shirt and looked up at him. He was already staring at you with all the love and adoration in his eyes. Of course, you didn’t realize this at the time. Jaehyun himself didn’t even realize it.
He then handed you his tie, “I hope you can tie a tie?”
You’ve tied many ties in your time of working at the orphanage.
Warm Hearts Orphanage held a prolonged special place in your heart. You’d been going to the orphanage as far back as you could remember. The orphanage held children from infants to teens. And everyone there was like family. Even though your little family didn’t have much, it always warmed your hearts to give back to children who were less fortunate than you were. And though you grew up poverty stricken, these children suffered more than you did and all you wanted was to help them.
You’ve seen children come and go, and the thoughts that always come to you is that they lived a happy life. Everyone in the orphanage deserved it. Even the sourest of apples, because all they wanted was to be loved by a family.
That being said, the orphanage always planned surprise parties for those children who had been adopted. It was a nice tradition, and you’ve helped many children get ready to graduate from Warm Hearts into a family that will love them.
“I can.”
As you were doing up his tie he slowly raised a hand to pat down your hair. The action made you pause your movements. Then, you realized everything that was going on was completely wrong and inappropriate, so you quickly finished doing his tie and took a step back. Your heart fell to your ass.
“What’s wrong, lovely?” You still felt like you were going to cry.
“I- Nothing. Don’t worry about me,” you fakely smiled again. But, again, it was as if he knew you your entire life because he wiped the pad of his thumb against your lips, making you genuinely frown.
“How can I not worry when you seem squeamish? And these fake smiles plastered on your face. What’s wrong?” He stopped swiping your bottom lip and cupped your face with the entirety of his right hand; thumb rubbing your cheek instead.
You still forced a smile and wrapped your hand around his wrist, bringing his hand away from your face. You felt undeserving of everything he was doing to you. And you wanted to hide your emotions as much as you could.
“I’m okay. You can stop worrying about me. I’m fully capable of taking care of myself,” you released your hold on his wrist and held yours, crossed in front of your body.
This time, with his left hand, he smoothed down your hair and let his hand rest on your face.
“Okay, pretty. If you say so. Now, let’s go get your car, yeah?” You bit your lip and nodded and he led you out of his house with his hands on the small of your back, just like he did when he was bringing you inside.
The seven-eleven you were drinking at just so happened to be located right next to Jeong Peach Corporation. Your car was still parked in the parking lot. And it was still nothing to ever compare to the CEO who was sitting beside you.
You both got out of the car, and he was standing in front of you.
“Thank you and I apologize for last night. But if it weren’t for you, I’d probably be passed out on the sidewalk,” you awkwardly laughed.
“No worries, love. And thank you for your hospitality. I’m happy you’re doing alright,” he responded.
You pursed your lips and pivot your heels to the direction of your car.
“I hope to see you again, Y/n.” Yeah right.
You pivot your heels back to the direction of Jaehyun. The embarrassment of last night and this morning still lingered in your body. There was no way you would see him again. You were from two completely different worlds. And there was no way you were coming back to this seven-eleven.
“I hope so too,” you said bitterly before rushing to your car.
“Y/n!” He said before you could finish shutting your door. You groaned to yourself, stepping back out of your car and facing him again. You wanted to save yourself from the self-bashing already.
“Would you like to… maybe… grab something to eat later?” But damn, he was too nice to turn down. You wanted to say yes so badly, but another part of you wanted to decline. You just didn’t belong in his world.
He was born to an upper class family, you knew that. Everyone knew that. So what would happen if you said yes? You had nothing to offer.
But it didn’t hurt trying, right?
You took in a huge gulp, “…. I would like that.”
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry, what?!” exclaimed Danbi while the two of you were washing dishes.
The kids had just eaten and they were now free to do whatever they pleased, whether that was draw, sleep, or take a walk during the good weather.
“Keep it down!” You shushed her.
“I can't! THE Jeong Jaehyun of THE Jeong Peach Corporation asked you out on a date tonight?!” She squealed in happiness for you, making the bubbles fly everywhere.
You told her everything that had just happened within the past twenty-four hours. And she was beyond stoked for you. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and she knew you deserved it the most. You’d been through hell and back and you’re about to go right back. She knew everything about your situation, you’d both been volunteering here for years so it was only natural to open up to one another.
“No one said anything about a date…. Just a, uh, hangout. Yeah…. a hangout.”
“Y/n, he just met you and he’s head over heels for you already! I’m so excited for you!”
You were excited too. Way beyond excited.
Jaehyun said he would pick you up around nine p.m. You had just gotten back from grocery shopping and you now had a little over an hour to shower and get ready. You didn’t even know where he was taking you.
But as you were applying your makeup and looking in your bathroom mirror, everything started shutting down on you. And you were surrounded with nothing but your own, suffocating, thoughts. You were a fraud. But Jaehyun was coming to pick you up soon, so now was not the time to think about it; or at least try not to. Fake it ‘till you make it.
When the knocking on your door signified Jaehyun's arrival, you quickly sprayed some perfume and opened up the door for him.
You were wearing a simple, spaghetti strap black dress with a slit on the side leg and a dark gray blazer with a matching bag. He looked the same as he did when you saw him this morning, except his blazer was now off of his body and he took off his tie which left him with his white button up (which he unbuttoned the first few to give him more of a casual look).
“Are you ready?”
☹ ☹ ☹
I told you I was down bad
You hate to see me like that
Two whole years had gone by and it was almost your third anniversary. Almost, as in, it was six months away. But so much can happen in a mere six months that seem to pass by so quickly.
You were in your apartment, the same crappy apartment you lived in two years ago, crying in your sheets. Your damn thoughts were getting to the best of you again.
And when you didn’t respond to Jaehyun’s phone calls, it was an understatement to say he was worried about you. So he drove to your apartment immediately.
He frantically knocked on your door and almost broke it down until you came to open it, eyes still red from your tears and breath still uncontrollable. Your lover welcomed himself inside and shut the door, holding you so tight yet soft in his embrace in the doorway. He was trying to comfort you with his lips resting on your forehead and his hands carefully cradling your body.
“It’s alright, love. I’m here. Don’t cry. Please. I need you,” he repeated into your hair, rubbing your back and swaying you both side to side. But the action made you cry even more. You didn’t deserve the love he gave to you. Your head rested on his firm chest as you tried to calm down the pain.
“Angel, where are your meds? Are they in your room?”
You nodded as best as you could as he carefully led you inside and into your bedroom. Jaehyun sat you down on your bed before grabbing a glass of water for you to take your pills. You hated relying on him so much. You hadn’t changed. But what you don’t know is that Jaehyun loved you even more than he did two years ago. He loved you because you weren’t afraid to show him such a vulnerable part of the human being you had become. Or so he thought.
You did what you had to do and he carefully pulled you into bed with him. Your head rested in the crook of his neck as he felt your hiccuping breath die down into slumber. He rubbed your back some more, hoping that it would lull you to sleep faster.
You don’t know what you’d do if he wasn’t here. Jaehyun was your everything, as were you to him.
When you woke up the following morning, you were still in Jaehyun’s embrace. Slowly, you turned around to check the time and the clock read 5:43
a.m. That was why it was still dark outside.
You turned back around to face Jaehyun and you sadly smiled at him. He worked so hard 24/7 and the purple bags under his eyes proved that. You just wished there was something you could do to help him, just like the various ways he had helped you. Jaehyun has always been there to help. From the day you two met, to this moment, Jaehyun was always your number one.
You shifted around in his arms as he slightly groaned because of the sudden movement.
“I’m sorry, love. Keep sleeping,” you whispered, kissing his closed eyes. He came to your house in his work clothes, though, so you were sure he was a bit uncomfortable. You walked to your wardrobe and found some folded up pajama pants he left over the other night as well as one of his gray hoodies he left ‘not on purpose.’ You gathered his clothes and walked to the bed to wake him up.
“Wake up. If you’re gonna keep sleeping, at least change, love. You’re probably all stuffy in your button up and dress pants,” you lightly shook him awake. He groaned some more before stretching his limbs and opening his eyes. You were the best thing he could ever wake up to.
Jaehyun playfully pulled the blanket over his head and managed to wrap his arms around your waist as you were sitting down beside him. You laughed at his antics and tried to free his grip on you. It failed; and you ended up wrapped under your sheets with him, his comfortable clothes still in your hands.
“What if I don’t want to change,” he challenged.
“You don’t have to,” you teased. “But it’s not going to be my fault when you complain about being uncomfortable.”
His tight hold on you faltered for a moment before he fully released you and took off your blanket from his (and your) bodies. He released a puff and pouted his plump morning lips. The man sighed and got out of bed, taking the clothes you had in your hands and just stripping from his work clothes right then and there.
“Aren’t you gonna change in the bathroom?” You asked, laying back down in bed. So much for getting up.
“Eyy, you know I don’t do that. I’m gonna come back into bed anyway,” he said before climbing in after you and pulling the grey sheet back onto him. As he slid into your bed, you wrapped your arms around his head as he rested himself to be held by you. Jaehyun loved being babied, especially in the early hours of the morning. It was one of the many charismatic features about him.
When you woke up the second time that morning, it was only nine o’clock. But Jaehyun seemed to be awake now, cooking breakfast that was sizzling from the kitchen.
Quietly, you sat on one of the stools and stared at him. He was the best thing that ever came into your life.
But why did he openly put himself in it?
You always wondered why Jaehyun stayed. It always turned into panic attacks and crying fits, but you couldn’t help it. He was a part of a completely different social status and you stood out like a sore thumb when you were next to him. It wasn’t like you were ashamed to be his girlfriend; you just thought he was ashamed to have you as his girlfriend.
He should.
There goes those thoughts again.
Unknowingly, you choked a sob which made him turn around. When he saw you, he smiled with pure adoration beaming in his eyes. God, why did he make this so hard?
He shut off the stove and walked toward you, forgetting about the breakfast he was making, it was almost done, anyway. Jaehyun wiped his hands with a towel and walked to you, cupping your face with his right hand, wiping the tear that seemed to fall from your eye.
“Why are you crying, love?” He still held the same, sweet, smile.
“…. I love you.”
He raised you from your seat and just hugged you, lips resting on the crown of your head, swaying you back and forth on the creaky floor.
“I love you more.”
“I’m sorry I’m like this,” you confessed against his chest.
But he immediately raised you from your position, to look at his, now serious, expression.
“Never apologize for something you can’t control. You say sorry all the time, peach. I love that you feel the need to say it, but you really don’t need to say it all the time. Especially in front of me. You know how much I love you, right? For being who you are?” He wiped the baby hairs away from your face.
“You know how much I don’t care how messed up, or whatever you call it, you are, right?”
“…… Of course.”
“Then you should stop being such an amazing person. I don’t deserve you. But here I am,” he laughed, tugging you into his frame once more.
However, you still felt the need to give him the world. You still felt as though you owed him your life, he’d been your boyfriend for almost three years.
And yet you still thought that it was you who didn’t deserve him.
“Now stop crying. You know I don’t like it when you cry. Especially if it’s your damn thoughts that are eating at you.”
You love him so much.
☹ ☹ ☹
I don’t know how you look past
My stupid fucking setbacks
You said it before and you’ll say it again. You’ll say it a million more times; Jaehyun deserved more.
Sometimes, you’ll look in the crooked mirror placed in your bathroom and just think to yourself. Think about all the negatives rather than thinking about the positives. And although there are times you do think about the positives, they all end up with a wretched outcome. And then it’s negative thoughts all over again.
It’s the same routine and you’re growing sick of it. You’ve been sick of it ever since you could remember and you despise people who seem to have it easy. It just seemed as though there was no luck for you. The only luck the universe brought to you was Jaehyun. There are times, though, where you wished you never met him. He was a goddamn CEO and you were a low-class citizen. None of it just made sense.
But you loved him. It just hurts to deal with your true emotions and stow them away from your lover; because you never wanted him to watch what you were going through. Even the thought of it made you want to vomit.
Trauma just came natural to you, apparently. And you absolutely hated it. You just wished you were different, then maybe you wouldn’t feel so guilty about dating Jaehyun. Then he would truly be proud of who you are.
He was already proud of you, though. And he’s told you this a billion times. Your brain just makes you believe that he’s saying it out of pity. He’s only saying it because you’re his girlfriend.
And the cycle continues.
You were spending the next couple of days at Jaehyun’s house. It was obvious he didn’t like your lifestyle and wished for you to live with him. You could never bring yourself to do it though; to always rely on him for everything that you do. You were fully aware of what you could and could not do, and you didn’t need him to help you.
Which led you to silently cry away your sorrows in his bathroom. You were taking a bath, in hopes to dial down the overwhelming emotions that engulfed you. Yet here you were, with a flushed face and puffy eyes— the aftermath of a breakdown.
It seemed as though ever since you got into a relationship with Jaehyun, your anxiety only intensified. And that resulted in the thoughts that had been burdening your mind since the day you two met.
Fortunately, he wasn’t home to face the pointless shenanigans that go through your head. So you had enough time to pull yourself together, take your meds, and try to meditate on the balcony that was attached to his bedroom.
The summer nights were cool enough for you to relax your mind before Jaehyun made his way home. You were working at the orphanage the whole day and you managed to pull through the entire day without a single tear, which probably led to the bathroom-breakdown fiasco.
The crickets had been chirping and the wind was starting to blow. That was when you heard the bedroom door open. And when Jaehyun saw the slight movement of the balcony curtains, he knew you were outside doing whatever you do best.
Quietly, the man sighed to himself, placed his work on the side desk and undid his tie. He was finally home. He was finally with you.
Jaehyun opened the sliding door larger than what it was and joined you in sitting on the floor with his legs crossed. At first he let out a long breath and looked out toward the yard which his bedroom was facing. Then, he got tired and shifted toward you.
That happened all in thirty seconds.
Your eyes were still closed as you breathed in. Jaehyun lovingly smiled at you and kissed the side of your head.
“I missed you today, angel,” he broke the silence.
You opened your eyes and shifted your body to face him.
“You say that every day,” you chuckled and played with his fingers. A habit of yours that Jaehyun absolutely adored.
“And it’s always true. I can't wait for the day I get to see you every time I come home.” You felt more guilty that he had the need to say that. And you knew he meant nothing harmful, he was just a caring person and didn’t want you living the life you had. You were better off living with him.
But you joked, “You will. For the next three days. And then I’m off home.”
He groaned and layed back on the cold floor. “Don’t remind me. I want to cherish the time we have now.”
You laughed once more. He was acting as if he didn’t come to see you practically every day. Sometimes, he’ll even leave his job just to come see you at the orphanage.
“Eyy, quit saying that. I’m still here. You come by all the time. Sometimes twice a day. You’ll get sick of me soon, I can guarantee. I don’t know how you put up with me all these years.”
Although you were (partially) joking, Jaehyun sat right up from his prior position and looked at you with his pout and furrowed brows.
“What do you mean, peach? I could and would never get sick of seeing you. Don’t say that.” You were shocked to see him react that way.
You slightly snickered at him and said, “I was joking, love. I’m sorry,” you leaned your head closer to his and placed a little kiss on his lips, to make him sort of forgive you for saying that.
“You better be. I don’t know what I’d do without you, peach,” he kissed back. And pecked your lips repeatedly, several times.
The actions made you laugh out loud and slightly push him away. Jaehyun loved being the reason why there was the brightest smile on your face. So he quietly smiled as your eyes crinkled because of him.
He suggested that you two wash up. However, you already told him you bathed before he came home. And like a child, he groaned and went into the bathroom himself. But he made you promise to wait for him tomorrow. You agreed, because he was your little baby.
As he was in the shower, you cuddled your way into his bed sheets and blanket. The lights were now dimmed and all you were doing was waiting for him to get out of the shower. Hopefully he would be able to beat the slumber that easily pulled you in.
The warmness of the blanket, though, soothed you to sleep and Jaehyun was unable to defeat the unfortunate slumber that casted over you. It was a shame since he wanted to talk to you; ask about your day and what you did. He’d grown used to the look of your puffy eyes, and he knew you’d been crying. He knew you were having a moment the minute he stepped onto the patio. Because the only time you would sit out there was if something was bothering you.
Being the amazing person he was, left you alone, and didn’t ask about what you clearly didn’t want to talk about. He believed that you would open up to him when you were ready. You’ve already opened up to him so much, but nothing would stop him from worrying about you.
Once he got out of the shower and towel-dried his hair, he placed the wet towel in the basket and climbed into bed next to you, immediately clinging to your fatigued figure. God, he would give you the entire world. Jaehyun turned around and shut off the lamp on his side of the bed (yours was already turned off) and hugged you against him, his breath soon evening out to match yours.
And fast asleep he was.
The following morning, Jaehyun was awakened with your fingers threaded in his hair and his face squished against your chest. He managed to stretch some parts of his limbs whilst still, practically, laying on top of you.
“Good morning, angel,” he said in his morning voice, “I’m not going into work today.”
As a CEO, you’d expect him to take care of himself (with Jaehyun being his own boss and all) but you didn’t expect him to say he wasn’t going in. Not that you minded, you’d much rather spend the day with him but Jaehyun was a hard-working man, and he rarely took days off.
“I’m not going in for the next three days either. It’s been a while since I took a day or two off.”
“Yeah, but you’re taking four days off, including today. Are you sure you want to do that?”
He was taken aback for a moment. Did you not want to spend time with him anymore?
“There’s nothing wrong with me taking four days off. You appreciate it, no?” He said in the littlest voice which instantly made you regret what you said.
“No, no, no. Oh, I’m sorry my love, I didn’t mean to make you upset. It’s just that you’re so busy with work and it’s just me so you don’t have to-” you rambled.
“And that’s where I’m gonna stop you. You know how much you mean to me, so of course I’m gonna take these days off to spend as much time with you as I can. The company's getting a little busier with a new launch around the corner but I’m sure they’ll be able to survive without me for a few days,” he retaliated.
You sighed, still feeling like an asshole for wording the sentence the way you did. God, could you do anything to make him happy? It felt as though everything you said and everything you did could never satisfy him. Of course, those were just your thoughts.
Jaehyun was happy that you cared about his job, but what he wanted you to realize the most is how much he wanted to be with you. Whatever it was, spending time with you is the best remedy he could ever ask for.
Just why is he never sick of you and your words? You’re sure he would be with how rude you, unintentionally, were to him.
☹ ☹ ☹
When you opened up the door
You let me in when you should have your guard up
Thinking back to the time you finally let Jaehyun crawl through your walls— when he’d let down his walls way before you— the constant feeling of regret and pain constantly filled you. Whether or not the glass was half-full or half-empty, it was always just half. There was never a certain hundred percent yet Jaehyun took his time in letting you trust him as Jeong Yoon Oh.
Thinking back to the time you first met Jaehyun himself, he somehow couldn’t process the red-flag you were oh-so not afraid to show while you were inebriated. He thought you were cute, and the words you were spilling from your mouth, conscious or not, made him feel sort of protective over you. And he didn’t even know you.
It was about ten a.m. when the two of you got out of bed. Ever since the conversation earlier, the air has just been tense. At least for you. You’re sure Jaehyun probably hadn’t felt anything but your brain was constantly playing tricks on you, and this could be one of them.
Your lover is in the bathroom now, as you’re sitting on the bed staring into space with your thoughts locked into your brain. You should apologize. Of course, you want him to stay home with you, but he plays an important role in the economy and in his industry that you can’t help but feel bad for keeping him away from what he loves doing most.
Resting against the headboard, you turn your head toward the bathroom door that was being opened. He walks through and sits back in his spot next to you, although his body is fully facing yours.
“I’m sorry about earlier. I just… I don’t want to keep you here if you have a lot to prepare for your launch,” you sighed and rubbed your eyes.
He laughed, but the feeling of hurt lingered a bit in his eyes as he held the utmost respect to you. “You don’t have to apologize, my love. It’s completely okay. And if they need help, they have my number and it’ll all get fixed with a simple phone call, alright?” He used his right hand to cup your face, rubbing the pad of his thumb against the surface of your cheeks.
You bit your lip in hesitation but you stopped when Jaehyun leaned down and kissed away the bad habit he always noticed you had.
“Let’s make breakfast, yeah?” He whispered against your lips, giving you the biggest puppy eyes ever. You laughed and kissed him one more time before going into the bathroom to get ready for whatever the day was going to bring.
Breakfast was absolutely lovely. As it always is whenever you’re with Jaehyun. But for some reason, this morning’s just hit so different.
Today, though, you planned on going to the orphanage just as a surprise visit. Truly, it was your home. Your second home (if you considered Jaehyun.)
“Well, I was planning on getting goodie bags for the kids but… I don’t think I’m gonna. We can just spend the day there,” you were telling him all the things you wanted to do today and the things you wanted to do for the kids there but you were having trouble deciding what to actually do.
“Nah, we can go to the grocery and buy them goodies,” he abruptly said as if it was no problem. Realistically there was no problem. Except you.
“But-”
“No buts. I haven’t seen them in a while, so just consider it a gift from me. Now, let’s finish our food and get some snacks for the kiddos,” he put his plate in the sink as you sighed in adoration (and maybe a little in guilt.)
Grocery shopping with Jaehyun was like grocery shopping with a child. And it was good, because he picked out snacks he thought the children would like, as well as treat bags to put them in. He was a child at heart although he portrayed a stoic and successful CEO.
The two of you sat in his car for an hour in the Warm Hearts Orphanage parking lot packing juices and snacks and candy into the bags before finally walking through the front door.
One of the staff members had seen you and happily greeted the two of you as you walked into the main entrance to the room the kids spent the most. Upon your arrival, all of the children shouted in happiness, greeting you with hugs and questions of the bags that were placed in a cardboard box that Jaehyun was holding.
Giving them out and spending time with them truly warmed your heart as they played the whole day long with Jaehyun.
He was so fond of children and your entire being melts with the sight of him playing with them and catching them up on his launch.
Something about it was heartwarming yet bittersweet.
You don’t know how long you could last anymore.
☹ ☹ ☹
What a painful back and forth, oh
Today was just not a good day. For you and for Jaehyun. He called you in the morning and said he was going to visit you at your apartment when he was done in the office.
Only problem was, it was twelve in the morning when he walked through the door with the extra key you gave him. Your apartment was quiet, excluding the yelling from the thin walls of whichever neighbor.
For the first time since he’s met you, this was the first time he’d actually noticed every little detail about your apartment. From the stained walls to the crack in your window. He felt like he wanted to cry. Jaehyun didn’t want you living like this anymore, that was the truth. And he knew you worked two jobs before committing to the orphanage. He also knew you were never able to pursue college. No amount of scholarships you were given could afford the ungodly university tuition.
And just as he was about to suck up the water forming in his eyes, you walked out of your room, fully awake. You stopped and called out his name. But the ringing in his ears only got louder. And soon he broke down into tears.
You were completely shocked. It was midnight and you didn’t think he would come over because it was so late. But now he’s here, and you don’t know how long he has been standing there, breaking down right in front of you.
“Hey, hey, hey. What’s wrong, angel?” you held him in your grasp as his tears kept coming down.
“Why are you crying? Please tell me, my love,” you pleaded, voice cracking. In the three years you’d known Jaehyun, he was never one to cry. Not one tear. He wouldn’t ever tear up either. So seeing him like this, vulnerable, was both shocking as it is confusing.
“I just…” he sobbed, “I just love you so much. Please don’t ever leave me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” To you, he wasn’t making much sense but he was still valid to have these thoughts. Some people have their off days and you guessed this was his.
“Of course not, Yoon Oh.” He cried harder, somehow pulling you even closer than before, his head still hiding in the shadows of your neck.
Moments passed by before he finally lifted his head up. He looked so ethereal though he was covered in tears and the image in front of you made you want to cry yourself.
“You’re okay. I’m right here,” you cupped his face with both of your hands, wiping away the tears on his cheek with your thumbs. He does the same to you, although you’re not crying.
“I want you with me forever,” he whispered, searching through your eyes as if he doesn’t know you like the back of his hand.
“I’ll be here.”
You don’t know if you’re lying to him with the response. But only time can tell whether the guilt forever residing in your heart gets the best of you and inevitably, to the best of him. But he’ll get over it right? He’s Jeong Jaehyun after all.
You’re now laying side by side on your bed. He is being cradled in your arms as he continues to calm down in the drowsiness of the late hours of the night.
“I’m sorry about breaking down earlier. I just… I don’t know, I just felt super overwhelmed all of a sudden I guess,” he lifted his head up to look at your moonlit face.
You shook your head and stroked his hair. “Don’t apologize. You deal with me all the time,” you dryly chuckled.
“Because I know what you go through… But thank you,” he rubbed your back.
“For what?”
“For being there for me when I need you most. I really appreciate it…” he trailed off for a moment, “I really appreciate you.”
“Please…” he continued, “Come live with me.”
You don’t know if it was sympathy, pity, pure love, or all of the above. But Jaehyun was very much aware that he could treat you like a queen. Which he already does, and that makes you all the more hesitant.
“You know that-” you’re cut off.
“I know. I know you refuse to but please. You’re my entire world, Y/n. I can’t even explain to you in words how much you and your entire existence means to me,” he’s desperate now. So desperate to finally have all of you. So, so desperate to watch you flourish into the beautiful bouquet he knows you are.
You sigh and continue to wrap your arms around his broad shoulders. “I’ll think about it.”
But the both of you knew the true meaning behind those words. Yet neither of you can say a word.
☹ ☹ ☹
It’s hard to ignore all of my problems
You couldn’t even count all of the imperfections and impurities that you had hiding within yourself. So much so, that you seem to project those imperfections onto the people around you. To the people that you love.
And sure, they might not notice them— ignore them, in fact— but they are clearly written out right in front of you and they don’t ever seem to go away. Which is probably why they say ‘you are your greatest enemy.’ It was true.
Yet of course, these thoughts had to swarm your mind at the grocery store. Grocery shopping, for crying out loud. With Jaehyun and with bunches of people who are too nosey to not look at you and not whisper to themselves as to why you are crying.
With the shopping cart full, Jaehyun pulls it over to the side so as to not create traffic, and pulls you closer to him by your arms.
He pushes the hair out of your face and leans down to see you. All of you.
“What’s wrong, my love?” He shushes you and wipes the tears off your cheeks.
This was absolutely terrible. Even the most domestic and everyday tasks were a hassle. And you felt like you were burdening Jaehyun in the busy market that only the wealthiest people had shopped at (since you were staying over Jaehyun’s again for a few days.)
“Nothing, it’s- I’m okay,” you sucked in a breath and wiped your tears before looking up at him to meet his worried gaze.
“Are you sure?” He squinted his eyes.
You took in another breath before nodding.
“One hundred percent sure?” He patted your flyaway hairs down. You nodded again.
“I need words, angel. To make sure you’re okay. Really okay.”
“I’m okay, I promise,” you try to give him your best smile.
He only responds with the softest kiss to your forehead.
“I need you to be with me,” he whispered against your skin.
“I am. One thousand percent. I’m okay,” you whispered back, now getting self conscious of the scene of you and Jaehyun canoodling in a grocery store on a Wednesday at eleven a.m.
He believed you, however the rest of the shopping trip went by slowly, awkwardly, and quietly.
You wished you could change the way you think.
☹ ☹ ☹
Cause I'm no good (Ooh), you could do better (Ooh)
You should walk out, it's now or never
Ninety-nine percent of couples argue. Those statistics are completely true. No matter how often or how little, couples everywhere have their fair share of fights.
You and Jaehyun are one of those couples that rarely fight. Today, however, had not been very good to the both of you. Stress, anxiety, and more stress were eating at the both of you and now it landed you here. Just great.
“I don’t need you constantly taking care of me! I’m perfectly fine on my own!” You shouted toward him.
“Clearly you’re not if you break down every other day! I just want you to be okay,” he lets go and sits on one of the chairs in the living room. His face is hiding in his hands as he feels the anger and disappointment run through his brain.
Noticing this reaction, you sigh and furrow your eyebrows. It’s silent for a fleeting moment. “Why? You know I’ll be okay.”
You sit on the couch, opposite of the black leather chair Jaehyun is sitting in.
“I know how much you’re hurting. And I don’t ever want you to feel those terrible feelings ever again. I want to be here for you and I want you to know that I want to be here for you. Can't you understand?”
It isn’t too much after he let out those words that you feel the tears fill up the sockets of your eyes and the void of the room. The walls that had now captured the two lovers screaming at each other now hear the abundant silence between them.
“I can't give you anything. You do so much for me and I’m just here.”
“I don’t care. No materialistic thing could ever compare to you just being here with me.” He gets up and sits next to you, making sure you know he’s with you the entire way.
“But it’s not enough.”
“Yes it is, Y/n. And I don't know what else to say to get through that thick head of yours. I love you for being you. And I love you for accepting me for who I am, not who I need to be. I don't need you to offer me anything besides your love.”
“That's the thing. I can only offer you my love.”
“I don’t care! Y/n, you need to realize how much you affect me. And I can't let you go around saying those words because they hurt me. It genuinely hurts me to hear those words.”
“…. I'm sorry.”
“Y/n, you truly don’t know how much you help those around you?”
It was silent for a moment.
“You work in a damn orphanage, for crying out loud! For fun. And it just makes me appreciate you. Appreciate how much you enjoy the happiness of other people. It’s all I could ever ask for.” He wiped the tears falling from your eyes.
“Please don’t cry. I just need you to know how much I love you. Why can't you see that? Do you not love me anymore?”
With zero hesitation, you released his hand from your face and stood up, “No! Don’t say that! Of course I still love you!”
“… it’s just that…”
“Don’t even say it, Y/n.”
The gloomy night has come to an end. And yet Jaehyun will not— will never— leave you behind.
☹ ☹ ☹
Gonna regret being too honest
Callin' it love, but this isn’t fallin'
It’s the following morning. It is truly a gloomy morning, in fact. The rain was slowly pouring, the wind was rustling against the trees, and the upcoming fog coming from the ocean was painting the neighborhood.
The minute you woke up in Jaehyun’s arms, you remembered the fight the night prior. And, God, did you feel like an absolute ass.
Could this be it? It’s been three years and yet the question still lingers. Just why? It seems as though you bring him so much pain and yet he has chosen nothing but enduring the repercussions of your wrath.
You gradually regained the strength to get up and without a minute to spare, you quietly escaped out of Jaehyun’s protective arms to make breakfast. Some sort of remedy to help heal the pain of last night's argument.
You sat on one of the island chairs waiting for the food to cook in the oven. Slowly but surely, you were once again trapped in your thoughts. Were you being too harsh? Were you being too honest? Were you actually enough to be with the most amazing man on planet Earth?
All of these questions were paused by the padding of feet coming into the kitchen. You look up at him, not expecting anyone else. And in his dazed glory, Jeong Yoon Oh was still the most precious human being that had ever entered your existence.
“I’m sorry,” is the first thing you’re able to say before finally crying. Crying the waves of emotions that you felt the night before yet did not physically show.
He didn’t say a single word. He didn’t have to. All he did was take you in his embrace and whispered apologies and sweet nothings into your ears. The rest of the morning went by with stuffy noses and quiet munches.
“I’m sorry about last night,” you apologized once again, sitting on the bed watching him get ready through the mirror.
“It’s okay. I’m sorry too. I just want you to know that you can lean on me. You’ve been able to lean on me for years now…. I didn’t mean to yell but desperate times call for desperate measures,” says Jaehyun.
“But I'm not desperate at all, you know that.”
“Yes but don’t you know I’m so desperate for you?”
Fandom / Pairing: Jujutsu Kaisen / Nanami x f!reader
Rating: Fluff – nonetheless, MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Theme: Friends to lovers (more like situationship to relationship I guess??) ; non-sorcerer au
Content warning: fluff, jealous Nanami, flirty stranger Choso x reader, suggestive, mentions of smut
The elephant in the room has been left unaddressed so meeting your crush/friend for the first time in two weeks makes you feel some type of way. The stars align when a hot stranger named Choso tries to woo you at the fair, you decide to indulge in his advances a bit to force a reaction out of Kento instead of talking to him like a sensible adult.
Author's Note: Hello, this is my first attempt at writing a one-shot. Borderline giggling-in-your-bed, kicking-your-feet type fluff but love is cringe so it is what it is. All characters are in their 20s. If you enjoy it, feel free to like, reblog or comment. Open to criticism, just be kind about it. Thank you for reading!
Your eyes wander to the cafe door once again when you hear it open. You think you're being sneaky with it but your desperation did not go unnoticed by a certain loudmouth.
"He'll be here, chill already! Kento is a man of his word," Gojo teases, making the rest of the group giggle.
"Yeah well... okay whatever." You reply curtly. Your gaze moves up from your coffee to look at your friends, only to find Satoru, Suguru and Shoko all looking at you intently.
"We were pretty drunk that night but not so wasted that we’d forget everything. We saw you two leave the club together and you're kinda painfully obvious about your infatuation... So what's up with you two?" Suguru inquires calmly.
Geto often swears he couldn't care less about gossip but he's annoyingly attentive when it comes to catching hints and linking pieces together when there's any sort of drama encroaching.
You consider rolling your eyes but for some reason you feel like a criminal caught in an act... there's only so much one can evade before they gotta surrender. So you give in and lean forward towards the table but not before glancing at the door. Only this time, it's to make sure Nanami isn't the one walking in.
"Well, that night, if you guys remember, Kento was the only one who had decided to stay sober since he assigned himself as the driver-" You began, only to be interrupted by Gojo.
"Yeah and for what?! He booked an uber for the rest of us anyway when he left alone with you." Shoko smacks him on the head as if to shut him up. You side-eye him as you continue your story.
"Anyway... so, having had one too many shots, I was right up there with you guys. But when I started feeling a bit uneasy, Kento offered to drop me home and come back again." You realise you're fidgeting with the sugar packet on the table nervously but you stop the action as you look up to see all three of your friends leaning in, waiting for you to continue. It almost makes you laugh but you hold back because you know the odds aren't particularly in your favour with this story, and you’d hate to be teased for it by them later tonight.
"And then he drove me to my place. I invited him up for a cup of coffee-"
"At like 2 in the morning?" It's Suguru this time.
"It was the alcohol talking, okay?" You sigh and he simply shrugs, urging you to continue.
"We did end up having some coffee and we talked till like 4am? I’m not actually sure but it was late late. By that time, I was neither buzzed, nor uneasy. I was well aware of everything that was happening... and it just so happened that we kinda kissed and then he blurted out some excuse and left." You mumble towards the end of the sentence; so much so that if your friends weren't as invested in this story, they would've probably missed what you'd just said.
"HOLD ON- what do you mean kinda kissed and left?" Satoru almost yells. "Please elaborate." Suguru adds.
"Well, it just happened, okay? I don't know how to explain it, one minute we were talking and the next minute he held my face and pulled me in to kiss me so sensually, yet so softly that I honestly don't know what to make of it! But when things got heated, he excused himself cause he didn't think it was right to take advantage of me when I was drunk. I tried telling him I wasn't but he just left. He said he'd talk to me later but he has texted me about everything BUT the incident as if it never happened and do you know how annoying it is cause it's been TWO WHOLE WEEKS!" You sigh, out of breath, only now realising you could probably give Eminem a run for his money with how quickly you blurted everything out.
"Jeezzzz... that's bad. How can Ken fumble so badly?" Gojo laughs in disbelief.
Shoko adds, "He clearly likes you, and it's obvious you like him too - yet both of y'all are pussies who are too scared to do anything about it. It's the most frustrating trope of all romances if you ask me."
"Well, what do you want me to do? He has to be the one to initiate it. He's the one who left me hanging." You state, matter-of-factly.
"Whatever it is, figure it out asap cause here comes your man." Satoru gives you a sly smile before waving and smiling at the door. You turn to look at Kento walking in. He's wearing a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up halfway and you mentally slap yourself for instantly feeling aroused at the sight.
"Hi," his voice breaks your trance as you greet him back along with everyone else. "Sorry for being late, I had to wrap up some things last minute at work." He adds. Maybe you're being delusional but it sort of feels like he's directed it specifically to you.
"No worries Kennyyy, we've got our tickets right here, we can walk right in front of the line at each ride." Gojo waves the tickets proudly as Kento makes a less than pleasant face at his friend's stupid nickname.
"Thank you Satoru, what would I possibly do without you." Kento says it with a straight face, making you snort quietly. Your eyes meet for a split second when he looks at you and suddenly you're reminded of how nervous you're supposed to be around him.
"Let's get going? Would still hate a big crowd even if we had the premium passes." Suguru interjects as you all pay and leave.
You hand Kento a Matcha-flavoured cold coffee. Although it's common knowledge that it's his go-to drink of choice, he raises an eyebrow in surprise while accepting it. "Thank you." He gives you a quick smile as he walks out the coffee shop, next to you.
But wait a minute... Your brain goes into overthinking mode as you realise you seem too pliant. Bringing him his favourite drink, making those eyes at him, laughing at his jokes, seemingly ignoring the elephant in the room for his convenience.
And before you could rationalise with your own self, you clarify, "We knew the guys would want to rush to the fair as soon as you arrive so Shoko thought it'd be a good idea to order yours beforehand."
Lies. Pure bullshit. But two can play this game so that’s exactly what you were planning to do.
The carnival was a short walk away and Gojo generously allows everyone about 20 minutes to do their own thing before calling them to where the roller coaster is.
Suguru and Satoru had split from the rest to check out the Mirror house and Horror house. You lock arms with Shoko as the two of you seemingly share a single brain cell when you rush towards the candy stall. This stall in particular had been on your list ever since Shoko had heard that they had candy in every flavour imaginable. Nanami tags alongside with his hands in his pocket, comfortable with being left out.
"Let's get the basics out of the way. The sweetest, tooth decaying batch for Satoru?" You wonder out loud.
"And half sour, half spicy for Suguru?" Shoko adds and the person attending to you suggests a few options. While you're busy choosing for the boys, you hear Nanami speak for the first time in what feels like forever. "What are you planning to pick for me?"
"Kento you're never really picky about food so I don't really know what you enjoy… I'm the wrong person to ask…" Shoko says awkwardly. She was trying to give you an opening. He looks at you to check if you caught onto the fact that the question wasn't for her to begin with.
"Hmm… since you're here, it'd be best that you pick whatever you like." You give him a half-forced smile.
He looks like he’s about to retaliate but his mouth closes as soon as it opens and it has you wondering what he’s fighting his own mind over so hard. Was it really that conflicting to decide whether he liked you or not? You push the unnecessary thought to the back of your head, not really wanting to dive deep into the feelings department at that moment.
Instead he turns around and picks a mixed bag of chocolates that ranges from pure milk to 99% cocoa. You would've picked the same for him and it kind of makes you happy that you know him so well. Maybe you were being a bit mean now, but nevermind - this is the plan, to rile him up so much that he has no option but to realise that some issues need addressing.
Once you pay for the candies, you buy a few more snacks from other stalls before you see Gojo's texts on the group chat, calling everyone to where the roller coaster is.
Like Gojo had said before, the premium ticket really does push you to the top of the line. You barely have to wait for a few moments for them to do the basic machinery check before the group of 12 people that you're a part of is let in.
As if following an unspoken agreement, Shoko and Suguru sit together at the front but Satoru is too much of a dumbass to get the memo. As soon as Kento sits on one of the seats, Satoru climbs in next to him. You quickly sit behind Kento to avoid further embarrassment.
Shoko turns around and her face almost looks murderous when she stares at Gojo. He only shrugs back at her. Seriously, how can someone be so smart yet so oblivious and clueless when it actually counts???
You're too busy to notice the person next to you. But you turn your head when you see their seatbelt being secured in place along with yours.
"Well if it isn't my lucky day," the guy says as he looks at you, "... sitting on a roller coaster next to a pretty lady."
You're amused by the compliment. You know this all too well — the easy to flirt, charming, hot guy who knows exactly what to say to get the girls swooning. The tattooed sleeve and dishevelled hair only feed into the fuckboy image and you know better than to be serious so you decide to humour him.
"And why might sitting next to pretty ladies be of any consolation? Don't tell me you're scared of a carnival ride." You feign shock.
"Nah, it's a relief. We get the hand holding part out of the way, and when this is done, we can move onto better rides." He winks at you.
"And who says I'm holding your hand?" You raise an eyebrow at him.
"And why wouldn't you want to?" He challenges you, copying your tone. He makes a waving motion over his face and body as if to present himself to you. It kinda makes you laugh as you visibly cringe.
"Alright, fine! We can go the usual route of dinner and a movie first!" He adds.
"My god, you're relentless!" You're fully laughing at how unserious this strange man is.
"Actually people usually call me Choso but I think I can get used to Relentless." He puts his hand out and you shake it briefly.
"Hi Relentless, I'm y/n," you reply, smiling.
"A pretty name for a pretty lady," he says, repeating your name. You hear the first signal that secures the seatbelts in place. Choso puts his hand out and you look at him.
Your eyes briefly wander to the front to check if the stranger's words had any effect on Nanami. Even if it did, you're disappointed to see that he wasn't showing it at all.
"I don't remember saying yes?" You question playfully.
"Will it improve my chances if I say that I'm terrified of roller coasters?" He retorts.
"Are you? For real?" You ask, surprised.
"Nope." He snorts, still holding his hand open invitingly. You laugh before swatting his hand away.
"I don't hold hands till the 10th date!" You joke as another signal blares and the roller coaster slowly begins moving towards the drop.
"So does that mean I can hold your hand after 9 more dates?" He teases.
"Guess you'll never know unless you try." You tease him back.
Just before the dip, you swear you saw Kento look back to give Choso a quick stare down, but before your brain could note it for later analysis, the adrenaline overtook as soon as the ride commenced.
When it ends, you quickly say your goodbyes to Choso before you regroup with your friends. You'd stay here all night if you were to decipher each of your friends' emotions but more or less everyone made a what was that!? face, except for Kento. His face had pure annoyance written over it. You were almost surprised by how obvious his usually unreadable face was.
You change the subject to talk about random shit as you walk towards the games section. When the rest of the group starts chattering about whatever, Nanami pulls at your arm to slow your pace to let the group walk ahead. You slow down as you fall behind and he finally speaks up.
"Care to explain?" His voice is calm but laced with irritation.
"Explain what?" You frown.
"I thought we..." he trails off, as if he's unsure about the right words to use. You decide you’ve had enough of him wanting to say something yet saying nothing at all. So you decide to do it for him.
"Yes, I also thought we had something going on but it's okay, you take your time, ignore me for 2 more weeks if it suits you and run away again the next time something happens." You say, mostly calm but almost not. It's only now that you were letting your annoyance take control because you were upset. Clearly. The last two weeks had been awful, mentally playing a game of ‘he loves me, he loves me not’ each time he texted you.
Kento's eyes soften as he runs his hand through his hair, "I'm sorry, I should've reached out. I got busy with work after the weekend and later I figured I could just talk to you face-to-face when we met today."
Excuses. Not good enough.
"You had plenty of chances to do just that in the last hour or so. I like you Kento... I don't know how many more hints you want. But I'm kinda disappointed..." you look at him.
Nope this is enough, best not to take shit any further, you decide. But that's the problem with confronting someone, you always test the limits of how much you can poke a person till they burst, "I hate indecisiveness. At least Choso knows for sure what he wants and makes his move on time."
The puppy eyes he was looking at you with up until a second ago fade away and his jaw tightens as he gulps whatever words he had on the tip of his tongue. Speaking of the devil, as if on cue, you see Choso near the games section, only to find him already looking at you.
"Date 2?" Choso grins at you, "Tell me sweetheart, do you like stuffed toys?" You nod.
You can sense the tension as Choso ignores Kento who’s standing right next to you the whole time. You walk further away from both the men, suddenly finding the display of the soft toys a bit too interesting. Shoko is looking at the stacked toy pyramid and you ask her what prize is for what game.
"The dolphins and elephants at the bottom are for whack-a-mole," she says, pointing at Satoru who's frantically trying to win it.
"The random tier above it, ugliest by the way, is for the ring hoop thingy," she points at Suguru trying his hand at the game.
"And the top tier with the fluffy teddy bears is for Target shooting," she points at the stall where you were just a minute ago. You turn to look at Choso and Kento both picking up rifles to begin shooting their respective targets.
No matter how annoyed you may be at him, you can never ignore just how beautiful the man is. His forearms look delicious as he adjusts the rifle to his shoulder. You peel your eyes away from Kento’s veiny arms with much difficulty and focus your eyes on the target.
Each person gets five shots. Five clean shots to win the teddy bear. And both the guys take their aims in tandem. It almost feels like watching two teams take penalties during a FIFA world cup finale, not knowing who's gonna win.
You know Kento is competitive but he's always a good sport even when he loses a card or board game to you. Once again you’re surprised to see him groan out loud in frustration when he misses the last shot, whereas Choso gets a perfect score, winning the teddy bear.
Choso brings the big teddy and hands it to you, "Let's exchange gifts? My teddy for your number?" You smile at the soft toy in your hands. Before you have a chance to respond, you hear Kento’s stern voice coming from behind Choso.
"No. There’s no way in hell I’m gonna let that happen." he declares. Hell of an awkward situation to be in as Choso, you and Shoko all stare at Kento, who looks visibly angry.
Kento points at the Panda at the very top, the biggest prize of them all, "What the hell is that one for?"
"Oh... No one tries that ‘cause it's the hardest, Beat the bar challenge. You gotta hang onto the pull up bar for 3 whole minutes so it's basically an impossible prize." Shoko explains.
"Okay." Is all Kento says in return as he walks towards the man in charge of the bar challenge game. He gives the man a token and pulls up his sleeves even further as he grabs the bar.
You stare in disbelief as the countdown lights up on an LED display next to the bar as he hangs to it. It has you baffled that Nanami is doing this out of pure spite and jealousy but you'd be lying if you said you weren't turned on by the change in his demeanour, seeing him all worked up like this.
As he passes the two minute mark, without any sign of struggle, a sizable crowd gathers there to see if he really takes the panda home. Towards the end, Gojo and Geto start the 15 seconds countdown, hollering and hooting to cheer at their friend.
When Nanami's eyes meet yours, his cocky smile only grows when he sees you cheer on him as well. The tiny crowd roars when the 3 minute mark is crossed.
He half-yells a, "Just to be sure" as he does a muscle up with ease before jumping down from the bar. You're impressed but you still mouth a ‘show off’ as you roll your eyes at him jokingly. He walks towards you with the prize panda in hand.
The panda is about three feet tall and extremely fluffy — no wonder it was the top prize.
Kento, not so politely, pulls away the bear Choso had won for you and instead holds his panda out in front of you. He looks to the side to find the other man and with a smug smile tosses the bear back at Choso, who catches it with quick reflex.
You're still processing the whole thing because you kinda want to memorise every moment - this is so out of character for the stoic man you've always had a crush on. You've liked him for how calm and composed he is but seeing him like this has almost multiplied your attraction to him tenfold. Guess you pressed all the right buttons.
He pulls you out of your reverie as he says, "Is this decisive enough for you?"
And before you can answer, he pulls at your waist with his free hand till you're flush against his chest.
His head leans down to your level as he kisses you more passionately than he did the first time at your place and you can't help but feel weak in your knees. You feel as if your brain is going to short-circuit any minute now but you kiss him back, relishing every moment of it before he pulls back.
"I'm going to assume that's a yes." You can't help but blush as you look down to avoid his eye contact. How can you possibly stay mad when he has so clearly declared his intentions with you in front of everyone.
"Satoru, I take it you have your car this time. I’m gonna ask for a raincheck on drinks night." Nanami says to his friend. You feel dazed as you simply look at your three friends with equal amounts of embarrassment, shock and excitement.
Reading between the lines isn't hard. Kento might as well have said 'I'm going to fuck her and I cannot wait one moment for it' cause that's what his words seemed to imply.
“Why am I even surprised?" Gojo sighs.
Shoko punches his arm, "I'm pretty sure they couldn't care less about those drinks."
"Righttt," Satoru grins at you and says, "Have fun! Kenny has a really big penny. Saw it in the gym locker room once."
"SATORU!", you scold him.
"Hey dumbass, maintain some decorum." Suguru cringes.
"It's okay, she's about to find out anyway." Kento says coolly as he intertwines his fingers with yours and starts marching towards the gates.
You stare back to see you can't find Choso anywhere. Makes sense, you note to yourself. Then your eyes land on your friends and you grin with all your teeth. You turn your head to the front again as you look up at your man.
Up close, you notice the tiny beads of sweat on his forehead from all the exertion at the pull up bar. Holy shit, you wonder, everything about this night couldn't have gone any better... but you have a hunch, he's about to prove you wrong all night long.
