Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

Maya is incredible. I loved her.

I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?

i’d love to give reccs, and i’ll try to go a beginner friendly route! tbh you can pick up whatever here, but since you've read R:SOB i’d immediately follow up with Batman and Robin (2011) #1-8! this first arc is what’s referred to in Maya’s introduction, and it's just. so good.

Day 14

I have received…indifferent news about the human‘s state, by which I mean, I cannot describe her current state, as I have not received any actually comprehensible further information.

Wrin has decided to pay the human a visit at the beginning of this cycle. After they returned, they sought me out to report back, despite not single word about my task being uttered in their proximity.

They leaned against the wall next to me without a word, so after a few moments, I spoke up: "How is she?"

"She seems alright, at least she‘s most definitely not about to die.", Wrin responded, taking a swig of the bottle in their gloved hand.

"Would you be more specific?", I requested.

"Well, I don‘t know, I asked her how she was doin‘ and she said she was 'peachy keen'."

My front pliers uttered a rattling sound. "And…what does that mean?"

"If I knew", Wrin said, taking another sip. "I haven‘t known her for that long either, and I don‘t know anything about humans. She does that weird thing sometimes though, when you‘re talking to her, and she says something that is true but kind of sounds like a lie? I dunno, might be that."

"Would you care to elaborate?", I repeated, slightly suspecting that Wrin was already too intoxicated to form coherent thoughts.

"Kind of like…y‘know, sometimes it‘s also the other way around, and she tells a lie, but kind of in a mocking tone? I don‘t really get it either. Must be a 'human' thing."

Telling lies mockingly? Perhaps Wrin was simply not eludicating well enough, but I would have to investigate this claim further. Perhaps I would pay the human a visit myself, if I was permitted.

Unfortunately, before I could act any further, another technician rather desperately retrieved me to assist in the main control center, as they were, apparently, understaffed for the circumstances we are currently situated in.

Resulting in this, I did not face the human at all during this cycle, but I have received news that she has been discharged from the medical quarters, while the medicals further analyze the test results they recorded.

Furthermore, we are set to enter Fendaar‘s athmosphere in 2-3 cycles, so we will be able to let the SIIR Noxos get mended properly and stock up on necessities.

got pissed today unable to find nice clothes on swtor so! it's time for more Eight/Echani clothing hcs and a little fashion lesson!

As an echani duelist, I liked the idea that warriors and commoners wear the same everyday outfit with different additions, so of course I had to default to what is worn in kendo/iaido/most japanese martial arts: the gi and hakama. Besides being known as a uniform, it was worn everyday in the Edo period by everyone-- if you were more formal, you would wear more layers over it like the Haori (outer jacket).

The skirt here is the hakama, with 7 pleats that are said to represent the foundation of bushido, or the warrior code. For lorebuilding purposes, and since it aligns neatly with the 10 echani martial art tiers, we can say echani hakama have 10 pleats instead. As for what word we'd call hakama in star wars/swtor...well, let's think of that later. Besides being a comfy piece of legwear, it connects your upper half with your lower with its built in belts and is the place where one puts their scabbard through. Contrary to star wars, swords do not just clip onto any belt and hang vertically down.

The naga juban here is the cotton undershirt worn beneath your kimono to wick your sweat and keep it clean; depending on the martial art, some wear it by itself, and some wear it beneath a gi. As shown in the picture, it is worn regularly with fashion as well. Something to note is that men wear hakama lower on their waist than women, who wear hakama much closer to their chest just like their obi.

As the Echani are matriarchal, I imagine the popular style would be reversed, or that one can choose how to wear their hakama based on gender presentation. For Eight, he would wear it a little higher up to show he retains the femininity of his teachers as an act of respect.

This is a very basic way of tying hakama, women's style: since the side slits here are long, this is a priestess' garb.

Now we come back to the question of adapting this to SWTOR and having a more "sci-fi" feel: while there are countless robes and ways to wear hakama-haori in real life history and SW itself, perhaps for Eight it would be something like a juban woven out of sheer synth-material with a plastic-y shine to it that goes over the top of his revealing bodysuit undergarments and protects from the rain like those clear ponchos, while the hakama is made out of whatever signature black cloth sith lords seem to favor with sharper pleats for an Imperial feel. Hakama in the Taisho period were mixed with military uniform in wartime, so standard military boots won't feel out of place for Eight's as well. Maybe the sheer synth-material juban even turns clear only when hit with moisture as a way of spreading it evenly...

Alas, admin's ideas are impossible to draw, and slightly finicky to describe.

#swtor #oc: orradiz #while I *like* Handmaidens' outfits they're more representative of Atris than much else but I do like the ice queen theme #there's such an elegant shape to female hakama that's super cute...as a male even I want to wear it #this would be SLIGHTLY too um distracting for a training outfit but it would be normal in echani standards bc it shows a clear view #of the body while not being so revealing you're just naked and has martial arts clothing included #i'd also headcanon an admiring echani sith gifted it to him as formalwear (for their culture's standards) but clueless as he was #to being wooed he just accepted it anyways and then was confused when watcher 2 said he was showing too much skin. lol #sorry i like including my experiences to what i write hahaaha

found out yesterday that a friend of a friend who ive never really liked for various reasons but mostly because she thinks she's the only one who knows what good music is (which is like mostly classic rock and like "unknown" swedish bands and hates on hiphop and rap a lot as "objectively"bad" music) and looks down on and puts down people quite vocally and regularly like really condescendingly because of this is a huge taylor swift fan 💀

More thoughts to this post about the families that I wanted to wait to tack on:

Yes Esther is pregnant. People speculate that it’s because she rightfully accepts that amber and Ian are in no way going to inherit her seat, but she does want a child of hers to, sooo…. (Is this true ? Nah probably not, Esther is probably the nicest parent here)

Candace genuinely loves samson, despite the expression, but it can be tense when a pompous mouthed has to raise a pompous son. Lhoris, a new character of mine, is just chill about this lol

Rajan absolutely hates advik. He’s going to make sure his son Arun, who is more charismatic and diplomatic than advik ever could be, will inherit his chair in the council. (And Advik’s like, totally okay with this, so they should leave him alone)

Did you notice that Aurora the biggest clone hater looks a lot like her dad ? Like, I get their related, but the resemblance is interesting… 👀

I’ve mentioned this many times and this is a reason for Avery’s entitlement, but she’s the biological secret former daughter of Atlas and Candace. She insisted she make her way on to the photo set one way or another, even if it meant marrying her way into one of the most vile council families

Which character works best for Temporary Secretary?

Yknow after listening to and looking up this song, idk if it’s supposed to sound a bit creepy or suspicious or it’s literally just a guy who needs a secretary. Bc the background really just suggests that the artist thought it would’ve been funny, but then you have the lyrics. So like forgive me if I’m interpreting it wrong lol but my verdict is: the overlord (specifically s3).

The song is pretty funky and electronic which fits s3’s vibe, and in s3 the overlord does use people and treats them as disposable afterwards (Pixal for example). Also the overlord literally possesses people so he matches that slightly invasive vibe of the song. Maybe in an au, the overlord ends up giving up on finding a body and just keeps using other people’s until the become weak from exhaustion. Maybe Pythor is Mr Marks lol

if ranboo has recently sucked all the decoy blood out of his own body, does that mean that mean he looks even more like a dead body?

i think i confused a few people with the last bit of chapter 6, so i'll clear that up here: ranboo didn't actually drink his own blood. he was a strong boy and held himself back because drinking blood, whether it be someone else's or his own, is not fun for him :D

(i can see where the confusion came from though, because the only indicator that could point to ranboo not drinking his own blood is "The hunger does not." which takes a lot of reading-between-the-lines now that i think about it. my bad lol sometimes i get a little too cryptic with my phrasing)

so yeah, ranboo literally just bit his arm and went "ow :(" and that was it (the rest of the aftermath will be explained in chapter 8)

now i know i never really described ranboo's appearance after chapter 1, but i imagine he looks something like exovissa's or pinkinink's c!ranboo designs (minus the horns ofc. although the image of catalyst!ranboo having little horns under his hair is kinda cool. do with that information what you will).

i really REALLY liked the way you described ranboo's potentially current appearance, like, WOW. i will take that and use it in the fic at some point. the mental image that gave me is *chefs kiss* thank you so much anon <3

Asleep/Unconscious/Comatose "Oh my god. Clint? Hi, Clint?" (also for Clint wow picturing. TK doesn't have anyone else's number and Clint's phone was destroyed so it's only TK in the hospital room 😭)

“…TK?”

Groggily, he tried to take in the room. It was too bright, everything was a little fuzzy around the edges, and he was struggling to focus on anything for longer than two seconds at a time, but he tried. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong, here. He wasn’t sure where he was, or what had happened, or what exactly was going on, but he knew that much.

Natasha. Coulson. Kate. Cap. Their faces floated sluggishly through his mind. He should be seeing one of them, shouldn’t he? TK wasn’t the one that was supposed to be here with him.

Not that he wasn’t happy to see TK, but shouldn’t someone else at least be here too?

“Where…wha’s…?” With a groan, his eyes squeezed shut. He lifted a hand to rub at them, only to feel something tug. Furrowing his brow, he looked down, stared at his hand—something was sticking out of the back of it. A long, skinny tube disappeared under some tape, the other end attached to…something. Clint frowned. What was that doing there? Things didn’t belong in his hands.

Wordlessly, he moved to pull it out.
