purely on the basis that it has introduced me to the concept of philip being what you call a "homosexual, but seeing as he was raised by puritans in the 1600s, he is unaware of that not being the norm"

Me, personally, I don't care as long as it's done in an au and the person knows / acknowledges that they're not like that in canon.

I don’t own the character, and I’m not going to really police how people should enjoy a character. They aren’t hurting anyone, and it’s not going to magically make him an amazing or undo what he is in canon. I just agree that people who woobify characters just need to remember that’s not who they are in canon.
