GODDD VECTORRR i like him so so muchhhh. the zexal guy who Grabbed me and has Not let go. He's got so much personality, he's so EXPRESSIVE, I LOVE THAT WE GOT A 'MONSTROUS' YGO BAD GUY WHO'S SILLY AND EXPRESSIVE!!! he looks like he was drawn by a version of me from another dimension, he's FUNNY AND WRETCHED AND THE RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM MAKES ME BANANASSS. And I love that at the end of the day he's... god he's just a kid. He's a mean miserable alien-demon child playing 4d chess with everyone in his life and his backstory does make me emo and his character arc (culminating in this very inauthentic always doing bits type if character doing something so genuine and beneficial for someone other than himself) is just so goooddd wahhhh. HIS DUB AND SUB VOICES ARE BOTH SO GOOD TOO!! hes just Danabait to the max and who am i to resist.

Now, many of the characters have had rough childhoods...and by many I mean all of them. AND THIS GOT LONG SO UNDER THE CUT

Adelaide (born and raised in Lyon, Sunholt)

Quiet, shy, and obedient; Adelaide was a very sad and somber child. She rarely smiled and even more rarely ever said anything more than a "yes" or "no" ("No" was rarely an acceptable thing for a princess to say, so it was mostly "yes"). Learning quickly that her excited outbursts were either ignored or met with disdain, she kept herself silent and pristine. Spending the majority of her time by herself, Adelaide learned to have a rich interior life; never once daring to reveal a more honest personality, lest people dislike her. When she felt safe (IE with Camille and Mars) she was cheerful, talkative, and curious. Her time alone allowed her to grow into an introspective and observant adult, and her childhood trauma gave her a strong sense of empathy. Adelaide attributes a lot of her better qualities to the people she admires: she learned her stubborn style of care from Camille and her gentle sense of compassion from Mars. Still, she has learned that there is nothing inside her worthy of praise; nothing that is all hers and only hers.

Camille (born and raised in Lyon, Sunholt)

Steadfast and stubborn, Camille as a child had a strong sense of justice and worked hard to keep the people she cared about safe. Once energetic and curious, Camille explored the castle as if she owned it, happily getting herself into trouble. She often snuck into Adelaide's room so the two could play, and broke Mars out of his training for the same reason. No one could say she wasn't a child who cared; she was well-liked as a kid. She always had a rebellious streak, and rarely ever did as she was told. Despite losing her parents at a young age--even then--she knew better than to let true emotion show. When she left Sunholt to study magic, she returned more like the woman you see her as now; cold, sarcastic, and bitter. Though pieces of the girl who cared for her friends so deeply she could rend rules apart for them remained, most of it was covered with the skin of a woman who actively sought to distance people from her. 20 friends turned into 10 who turned into just the 2 that were too attached to leave her.

Mars (born and raised in Lyon, Sunholt)

The child of the knight commander, Mars was not the son his father ever wanted. Sensitive, cowardly, and compassionate, Mars was unlike his father and showed little promise in becoming the knight he was meant to be. His days were spent training fiercely as his father hoped that if he could not act like a knight, he would at least be skilled like one. Mars was, to his credit, a hard worker. Mars cried often as a child, mostly over inconsequential events (oh no! someone stepped on a caterpillar! wahhhh). Even as a child, Mars carried a guilt complex and was often anxious and socially awkward. He always had a love and respect for life, though he didn't understand what the role of a knight entailed until he went into his first battle at 16. As a child, he idealized and romanticized fictional warrior symbols, a trap he does not fall into anymore. As the truth of his duty began to settle into his mind, the sensitive child steeled over to become the stoic knight. Mars hasn't cried in years now; he's barely sure he can.

Sidney (born and raised in Lion's Port, Sunholt)

An angry, aggressive, and paranoid child, Sid was often getting into fights he probably should have avoided. He didn't always win, in fact, he lost more. Always though, no matter what state he was in, he got up again and kept going. His childhood wasn't a story of survival, it was spite. Discarded by his parents, he took care of his sister and cursed the world that cast them out. In private, he was kind and quiet. He dreamed of better things but knew better than to hope for them. He had little reason to smile and rarely did so. It wasn't until a botched attempt to rob an old man that he learned what kindness could afford him. When the old man's generosity offered him a place on his fishing crew, he learned quickly how to work with people and how to make friends. Since then, he's never looked back at the kid he used to be. Except, you can still see it in the way he punches; like he doesn't care what happens to him or the person under him.

Yoon (born and raised in Fukirk, Craydor)

Despite his cheerful, friendly, and determined personality, Yoon was not popular in his village filled with humans. In the kingdom that saw the worst of The Famine of the South, and thusly a healthy fear of Fey and what they could do. It didn't help that his mother's infidelity was common knowledge; Yoon was considered a bastard in more ways than one. Still, he kept his head up and maintained a friendly smile on his lips. He was a nosy child, full to the brim with curiosity, and never once minded having to do some hard labor. With his natural charisma, he was able to win the hearts of a few people in his village, who encouraged him and his mother to move on to a friendlier place. The trip didn't work out as planned and without his mother's positive influence, Yoon's genuineness withered away. It'll be hard to ever get him to speak an honest word now, but once upon a time, it was the only kind of words he spoke.

Faith (born in Zarza, Noor later was moved to Coalfell, Noor)

There once was a shy orphan who possessed the uncanny ability to inspire hope into the hopeless. She herself was an optimistic young girl. When they took her away, to the cries of the children who had come to see her as a big sister, there was nothing but a smile on her face and a promise that all would be okay. The hopeful girl quickly transformed into one that was scared and quiet and obedient because she knew what happened to her if she wasn't. Then she became one that was angry. Then one with blood on her hands. Then one who has never stopped running.

Faith doesn't know anything about that little girl, not in any way she will ever admit to. She's always been flirty and confident and unafraid. That thing you just read above? That's just some silly story. It doesn't exist. Don't bother asking her about it.

If you run far enough away from yourself, you can forget that you exist at all. Then you can become something better, something cleaner. Why would you want to stay shy and naïve? Why would you want to remain sensitive and hope for love that never comes? How trite, anyway. Faith has always been the way that she is.

The Seventh RO (born and raised in ??????)

Shy, awkward, and easily frightened, once upon a time. So it's said, at least. What becomes of a child gifted the duty they will be bound to for the rest of their life? What is a child without an identity? These questions have no answer. There never was a child; not here, not once, not long ago, not in the killer who seeks you. There was no child. There could be no child.

What inspired you to start writing fanfiction?

it was i think my 3rd month of being a stay? and I really loved reading ff on here even tho I had no idea how this app worked LMAO I've already told her but @rachalixie's hurt/comfort drabbles were my fav thing to read, she was one the first ppl I followed on here, and so, tmi, I was feeling so anxious and I wrote a channie helping u through an anxiety attack drabble (that I never posted AJSNJSB) and I was like hold on! this is fun! i can write what I want??? and post it for people to read...... like I was already writing some poems for a couple of years now but they were just for me yk, so i got super ambitious and i posted a long ass OT8 saying ily for the first time as my first fic akssjnjb i was so nervous like actually shaking and refreshing the notif bar every two seconds, i still rem the very first two comments i got, i think that's when it hit me that people actually READ stuff I wrote.

short answer, i've always loved writing and then stayblr -mainly anny inspired me to start writing too hehe

10. What's your favorite part about the fic writing process?

wahhhh probably coming up with lines i'm proud of?? i also loveee weaving parallels into my fics and for everything to come full circle, I love the symbolic aspects of fic writing in a way, thinking of mundane things and giving them an important significance for the characters!!! someone commented underneath Orange that they cannot believe they're crying over oranges and that rlly made me giggle!! that's the point HEHEH

13. What's the most challenging aspect of writing fanfiction for you?

for me it's descriptions ;;;; especially when it comes to sceneries or clothes or omg PLACES like decor and all,, I can't envision these things in my mind so I always worry I'm not describing them well in my fics,,, also the little transition scenes where nothing MAJOR happens but that are still pivotal to the right flow of the story ;;; yeah these mess with my head the most

21. Have you ever used fanfiction as a way to explore your own emotions or personal experiences?

hiii heyyy ofc i did ZJKNJD i think a lot of authors will relate but art cannot be completely separate from the artist, every work u read of mine has a little (or big) piece of me in it, that's why it's so vulnerable for writers to share their works on this scary place because u are perceived and judged for them and u hope that someone will find solace in ur struggles or relate to ur worries,,, and this is really helping me mend back my rp with love!!!

24. What advice would you give to someone who wants to start writing fanfiction?

JUST DO IT!!!! seriously go for it, you'll 100% cringe at ur earlier works later on but u will also improve and learn and discover things about urself that u would've never known otherwise!!! be self-indulgent and write things for urself and there will be always someone who will appreciate them

34. Are there any fic writing tips or tricks you've learned along the way that you'd like to share?

im trying to think of smtg i never mentioned before mmmm.... oh I think that trying to include bits and quirks of the member u are writing about is always so fun and makes the story more enjoyable for the reader!! ofc we don't know what these idols are like irl BUT there are some aspects of their personalities that we know of (like their interests or small habits) and it's always fun to incorporate into ur story, also helps with the characterization hehe

35. What do you enjoy most about being a fic writer?

THE FEEDBACK!!!!!!!!! nothing beats the feedback for me it's literally what makes the entire thinking, writing and editing process worth it!! the feedback is what keeps me going and fuels my motivation, it is so so important for writers I can't stress this enough,,, I'm so so grateful and lucky to have such sweet readers who leave me the most THOUGHTFUL feedback, like with just one rb u could erase SEAS OF DOUBTS in the writer's mind. i always say this but the only way for me to know if my fic is good is by reading u guys' opinions,,, so yeah the feedback is my fuel ;;;;

Ok so now that I have time to collect my very important and profound thoughts and also take in everyone else's reactions (which is what I normally do, I am a scientist who observes above all else before scribbling down my nonsense ramblings /lh) , chapter 8 of glass divine let's gooo

The Las Nevadas guys!! Seeing Purpled just in the bg made me so happy. I always get so hyped whenever he appears in any fic I read, even if he appears for (1) scene. What a guy, what a fella.

Quackity is great, as always. The Pythia's Prophecy drink rlly does sound like something that would exist in this universe, it's such a fun silly concept to me. I kinda want to try it lol.

His conversation with Wilbur is rlly neat and it's great to see Wilbur's narrow world view being slowly expanded bit by bit each chapter, this time by introducing him to the magical concept of agnostic people.

The subtle foreshadowing with the glass and 'card reader' and the growing sense of "ayo smth's not right with that" but not knowing exactly what is so well done!!! Ahhh I love your writing sm.

AND THE BIRD IN THE CAGE, IN WILBUR'S RIBCAGE BEING THE EXTENDED METAPHOR IN THIS STORY IS SO COOL. FUCK I LOVE METAPHORS SO MUCH YOU GET SO CREATIVE WITH THEM I JUST KAVSKSBJSV

An idea I have in my head of the bird almost being like a phoenix, being reborn with each new Pythia and being broken down every single time from a symbol of strength and resilience to just being a pretty bird in a cage to be admired but not for what it actually could be because that was stripped away from it, only for the idea of it and for people to constantly poke at it with a stick but not truly hearing it or seeing its pain or it for its worth I just wahhhh.

But I can't avoid the elephant in the room anymore lol. Tommy's reveal at the end, here we go.

I have mixed feelings about it because of the beauty of grey morality in characters. Wilbur has been nothing but a massive asshole to Tommy and the other Deathlings since he got there, which is very justified, I'm not trying to say it wasn't he was kidnapped lol. Wilbur also tried to kill Tommy like not even two weeks ago, the two aren't really comparable.

We see the story through Wilbur's eyes, we get an insight into him that Tommy will never get because as emotional intelligent and observant as Tommy is, he is not psychic and he is 18 years old. He does not have the greatest critical thinking skills in the world when it comes to things like this. In his head, the means justifies the end.

Is this going to cause Wilbur a massive amount of stress? Yes, of course it will. His identity was stripped away and he's been like this for like more than a decade, Tommy is trying to make progress at undoing a process that has done undeniable damage to Wilbur's psyche. However Wilbur's perception of this is of course going to be horribly skewed and he's not going to see Tommy's good intentions behind this right now; he's only going to see it as a massive 'betrayal' (I use that v loosely, he destroyed whaf little trust they had w that murder attempt) from Tommy and is going to be extremely bitter about it and his narration of this event is going to affect our view of it because we only see it through Wilbur's eyes and his processing of this, we don't see Tommy's anxiety leading up to this or his thought process on *why* he's doing this. We go off observations, theories and what Tommy himself tells us, we don't have a direct line into his brain like we do Wilbur.

This is a necessary evil in Wilbur's healing process because you can't exactly gently nudge Wilbur in the way healing forever, especially with how harshly he's been responding to any sort of criticism of the Pythia traditions and his role. They don't know if he ever will go there himself and you can't do anything new or heal if you don't push yourself or in this case, have the teenager who you tried to murder push you there.

And the disrespecting religion argument isn't a great one either since the whole Pythia system definitely needs to be reworked and Wilbur has done nothing but shit on the Deathlings and demean their religion since he was there, doing next to nothing to understand why they practice and believe what they do. He somewhat respects them as people and individuals but not their religion. Tommy ignoring (1) piece of Wilbur's restrictions isn't exactly on the same level.

Anyway, rant over. I probably should split this but I'm a sleepy little guy and have sports in the morning so I'm sorry to your inbox Bee. This is a monster.

okay yeah you understand exactly what I was going for. tommy doing what he did is a whole messy situation that has no clear cut answer. wilbur has been a huge asshole to everyone around him since he got there which is understandable given that he was kidnapped yes! but he tried to murder tommy! tommy invading his privacy to find out his name is not comparable!

but yeah I think everyones reactions to this is just a reminder that 'oh my unreliable narration is working really well'. as you all know by now I love working with skewed POVs. it makes a story so much more interesting to have it filtered so heavily through a characters biases which is exactly what's happening here. tommy does not have the same insight into wilbur's head that the readers do. he is stumbling blindly trying to figure out what the best way to do this is. and we don't see into tommy's head either or how he came to the conclusion that this was something he had to do in the first place. again, biased POV my beloved.

it's definitely a necessary evil in the healing process. sure, maybe wilbur would've eventually gotten to a point where he could tell tommy his name himself, but tommy didn't know that. he was making zero progress as is. he got insanely defensive anytime pythian tradition was even slightly criticized, he wasn't going to gradually warm up to what tommy was trying to get through to him so tommy just decided to do it the quick way instead.

also, yeah, the disrespecting religion argument is just so funny to me because of how wilbur has been a huge dick about the deathlings worship this entire time yet still has this major cognitive dissonance moment where he's like "how DARE tommy disrespect clara like this" buddy you have been doing this even worse to kristin the entire time

- he likes rubbing your belly so much that you’re surprised he doesn’t know about your scars yet. one day, he was just scrolling his phone on one hand while his other hand was rubbing your tummy slowly in circles when his finger grazes your scar and he’s like ?

I might have to kin Jason just because of your symbolism for his hair... As someone who has some trauma tied with their hair and uses it as a security blanket, it means a lot to see a character who's hair shows a lot about them in a story!! Thank you for making that a thing with Jason!!

WAHHHH omg this is so kind thank you ;_; I’m very happy to hear that lil post resonated with u!! Jason is meant to be mentally ill and traumatized so i do have a goal of making him a comforting character for the readers and letting him heal!!!!

I also struggle with having long hair and using it as a security blanket, but I do believe that in healing you can reclaim it as something good! So Jason does that eventually and gets his longer hair back but in a way that makes HIM happy ^_^

I like that spring means the end of winter and is the prelude to summer. Spring has often been a symbol of rebirth and it's like the Earth is waking up again after a long sleep.

Spring is also mating season for a large number of animals, which brings about new life. I love that.

I really wish that I could go to Japan during spring and attend their festival for cherry blossom viewing, too. There's an entire city that's known for their cherry blossoms and I'd love to see them in person someday.

‪ How do I feel about the #CovingtonCatholicHighSchool, #NickSandmann and the kids who went to a “pro life rally” and simultaneously interrupted an Indigenous People’s March? Fuck. Those. Kids. First of all they were there at a, let’s be clear, forced birth rally attempting to advocate the denial of women’s reproductive healthcare. Fuck them or that. Then, they mocked indigenous people while wearing fucking racist hats. Fuck them for that. I’m already seeing people calling for their innocence. “Those POOR boys!” Listen up. Anyone that goes to a protest wearing a MAGA hat knows what they are wearing and why they are wearing it. It isn’t a meaningless symbol, and those kids knew exactly what they were doing when they wore those hats. Fuck them, fuck their safety and fuck their Neo Nazi bullshit. Everything they believe in stands for harming people of color, and anyone not cis white and male. I stand with the Indigenous People who marched and unfortunately weren’t allowed to do so peacefully. Anyone who simply “taunted” these kids in my opinion were extremely strong willed, because I would’ve kicked them in the face. What does that have to do with this kid staring the man down with his smug smile? If he didn't like what was happening, he could have turned around &walked away, but he didn't.
