#vince x wendy

Note
AHHHH - the Vince sick story was sooo good. Maybe a continuation where Wendy feels bad for leaving while her bf is sick and comes back to apologize/take care of him BUT Vince thinks he is in the wrong for not telling her and just bursts into tears when she finally comes and sees him ? I love when tough boys are all soft!!
Wendy tapped her foot up and down anxiously, knocking on the door for the second time.
She knew he was in, because he sure as hell had been in no state to be anywhere but bed or a hospital and Jenny from the front desk had told her that no Vincenzo Monacelli currently in.
"Vince?" she called, trying to force her voice to remain steady, "It's me, Wendy..."
There were only two options on why the door wouldn't open: either he was furious at her or he was so sick he couldn't get the door. Both options made her want to cry.
She had messed up earlier letting her temper get the best of her. Yes, she was pissed and he should have told her he was lactose intolerant. He should've let take care of him and stop with that macho persona bullshit, but none of that justified abandoning her own boyfriend when he was sick.
"Vince...?" her voice cracked and Wendy took in a deep breath, forcing herself to hold her shit together. Suddenly there was movement and then the door opened.
She had seen Vince sick before, but it didn't stop it from being a shock in her system every time. He looked very very pale, all of his tan had basically vanished from his skin, leaving behind a greyish appearance, with dark undereye bags. His eyes were rimmed red and his lips chapped and pale.
"Hey," he opened a small, painful smile, "I'm sorry for earlier. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I'm really really sorry-"
"What?" Wendy frowned, completely shocked, "no Vin, no, I- Whatever, that doesn't matter. You weren't feeling well... I'm sorry I was bitchy to you and just left you there."
He let out a small huff, sounding beyond exhausted and a little choked up, "I did tell you to go, though..."
"No explanation," Wendy scoffed, moving further inside the room without waiting for an invitation, "I brought you some peace offerings...?"
His shoulders visibly dropped and Vince opened a tired smile, sitting down on his bed. He had sweat through his previous shirt, she realized, and was now wearing a new one. His boxers were the loose ratty type that didn't hug his poor belly.
"Peace offerings, eh?" he rubbed a hand over his stomach, wincing still, "well, show me."
Wendy sat down gingerly next to him, then grabbed her oversized purse and put it on her lap, starting to take out the items.
"Imodium and pepto, in case you didn't have them already," she mumbled, avoiding his eyes, "I brought an IV, just in case-" she removed the full IV kit from the bag, the biggest item considering it was an entire bag of fluid, the cords and needles, plus all the paraphernalia she needed to apply it in a sterile manner, "uhm- a thermos of soup... Powerade..."
"Wen," he sighed, "I'm not mad."
"No, I know you're not mad," she scoffed, still looking at him. His brown eyes were a little dull, probably given to how deeply exhausted he was, "I just feel horrible... I was horrible earlier."
"It's okay," he rolled his eyes, "you're here now."
"Vince."
"Apology taken," he nodded, "you take mine?"
"Of course, Vince, you didn't have to apologize" she smiled and leaned in to plant a kiss on his lips. He let out a startled noise and Wendy smiled, pecking his lips again, then his cheek.
"So... do any of the offerings sound good?"
"I don't think I can really put anything in my stomach right now," he winced, lying back down, "and I don't want any needles stabbing me, so no, not really."
She pouted, putting the bag at the foot of his bed, "can I rub your tummy at least?"
He chuckled lightly, "I never had anyone beg to rub my stomach, you know?" Vince smiled, but he was clearly too weak to keep the bantering going. He nodded after a second, moving to the side of his bed. It was too small for him, let alone for them both, but they squeezed in so Wendy could plant a hand over his stomach, over the shirt.
She rolled his shirt up and he took the hint, tugging at the neckline to remove it and not bothering putting it anywhere, he just let his hand fall back down, the shirt now squeezed in his fist.
Wendy pressed her cheek to his chest, planting her fingers over his belly. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't a little mesmerized, she had always been the type to like a man with a belly and Vince was perfectly made for her. Chubby, but built like a bull. Soft, but strong.
Right now his poor belly was still gurgling, more angrily towards the bottom of it, dooming out and pressing against the worn and lose elastic of the boxers. She tugged on the boxers, pulling them down a little bit and revealing the darker part of the line of hair that covered his chest and circled his navel, until it disappeared inside his briefs.
"Wen?"
She pressed her palm on his side, applying pressure and pulling her hand up, until it met his navel. He let out a little whimper, "gentle, honey, it hurts."
"Is it always this bad?" she asked, pushing her fingers gently on his tummy and drumming them around, until she found the tightest spot. Vince nodded, burying his face on her hair.
"The cramps are the worse," he mumbled, voice strained, "the rest I can handle, it's the cramps that kill me."
She pressed on the tightest spot, rubbing it in circles and he moved his head, muffling a burp against the pillow and then letting out a little sigh of relief, "gentle."
"I am being gentle," Wendy reminded him, moving even closer on the bed, "I wish you had told me, I would've taken precautions. Half the things in my place have milk."
"It's fine, it's not like I go there to eat food anyway," Vince chuckled lightly and she scoffed, hiding a smile against his peck and patting his tummy. It caused another burp to slip out, along with the laughter and he put his hand over hers, "don't be mean."
"You know," she sighed, kicking off her shoes to get more comfortable, Vince's roommate be damned if he ever came back, "I'm kinda in love with your belly."
He shook with a chuckle, sliding down on the bed just enough so he could fall right asleep, "please, you're in love with all of me."
"Sleep," Wendy blushed, pressing her cheek harder against his chest, trailing drawings against his stomach, "just shut up and go to sleep."

The Longest Ride 4
Devyn x Jax Teller | Devyn x Vince
Fic info || Ch 1 || ch 2 || ch 3 || Next
Tumblr media
Words: 3,751
⚠️warnings: it’s an angsty fic as you know
An: I cannot write accents. You can imagine the person's accent :) We meet Devyns best friend Sabine and spend some time with them in this chapter. I have a moodboard at the end, if you want to see what she looks like and the vibe of the shop. I’ll be completing this fic within a week, there are three more updates to come.
Tumblr media
The Next Day
Locking the door behind her, Devyn heads to her car in the driveway. Glancing up at the sky, she watched the storm clouds roll in. It was drizzling on and off since she woke up, but the downpour would start any second now. By the look of the sky, it would be a nasty one.
Quickly getting into the car, she starts it up and turns the Bluetooth on for some music. With her hands on the steering wheel, she takes a moment to prepare for the day. She had two clients this afternoon and didn’t want to bring her own shit into the sessions.
Devyn was running out of space between Jax and Vincent. His words stuck with her like glue since the moment he said them,
If you were my girl, I would never treat you like that. I’d put you on the pedestal you deserve! You would be my first priority, not my second, not my third, not the bottom of my fucking list
But Jax met you first. Guess I got to charming a little late
It isn’t easy but after a few breaths, she finds enough calm to get moving. Devyn backs out of the driveway, en route to Luxe Luna.
Luxe Luna was the brainchild of her childhood best friend Sabine Underwood. Devyn had one blood sister who lived out East, but Sabine was like the little sister she never had but always wanted.
Alyse was older than Devyn by 4 years and followed her call for travel pretty early on. She was never home, always visiting somewhere or someone. Though they were sort of close, Devyn felt like an only child until she met Sabine. The two have been attached at the hip ever since.
Like a few other kids who needed a break from Charming, Devyn went out of state for college. During that time, Sabine stayed local, so did Jax, who ended up marrying a girl named Wendy for a brief amount of time.
After college, Devyn found herself visiting more, and extending her stay. There wasn’t anything practically magical about Charming, in fact living there came with some serious cons. But it was nice having some family around, Sabine, and reuniting with Jax.
Over the first year after graduation, she flirted with the idea of moving back. When Sabine asked Devyn if she could help when in town, Devyn said yes.
Soon enough, the move back to Charming was official and she eventually became partners with Sabine. The shop was Devyn's favorite place on Main Street. It felt like being transported into an old school magic shop full of books, candles, incense. Attached to the back was a series of rooms, one of them became Devyn's massage studio.
Over the last four years, one of Devyn's hobbies became a small business. She enjoyed making small-batch natural candles. Now she sold them online and had a few lines created exclusively for Luxe Luna.
On a regular week, between shop things and clients, Devyn was here about 3-4 times a week. It used to be more, but Sabine was pretty hands-on, and her partner was often working at the shop these days.
The short drive talks a little longer in the heavy rain, but the trip down memory lane was welcomed company. She spent so much time lately thinking about all this shit with Jax, it was easy to forget the other things that drew her back here.
Exiting and locking the car, Devyn opens her umbrella and heads up the street, occasionally glancing down to avoid stepping in any puddles.
Reaching the middle of the block, the beautiful brownstone is a welcomed sight. Devyn catches a glimpse of Sabine in the left window as she restocks a self.
Many people commented on how good the place smelled, the aroma often hitting their nose before they stepped fully into the threshold. Upon entering, Devyn knew exactly which candle Sabine was burning; she made it special for her birthday.
“I love that you love this one so much!” Devyn closes the door behind her, the little bell stops jiggling.
“I mean it is perfect, so of course.”
Sabine puts the last book in her arms on the shelf and walks over to her friend. The candle was called Autumn Rose, and Sabine appeared like a beautiful manifestation of it. Her rose-colored lipstick, dark brown top, and long flowy dark orange skirt embodied the vibe perfectly.
“How are you feeling today?” She asks compassionately.
“I’m okay,” they hold hands. Sabine studied Devyn's face, “I’m okay. I just needed yesterday to … I don’t even know. But, since Lia is a regular, I figured she would understand better than a new client would.”
“Oh, she was cool about it. Stopped by anyway to get some things for friends. Sure you’re up for working today?”
“Yeah, I think so. I need to get back into it.”
“Well, you should have an easy time. Both are a little older, and asked for gentle work.” Sabine goes over to the small bar and turns the kettle on, “Want to talk about any of it?” She raises her brows, “Jax issues?”
“No,” Devyn waves away the question, “this is my peaceful place. No Jax talk here today. I’m going to get the room ready and then I’ll join you.”
“Sure, I made a new incense, put some in there. See what you think,” Sabine’s eyes are focused on the shelf of jars behind her as she picks a tea for them. “I think you’ll like it.”
“You know me better than anyone, so of course, I will.”
Though her first client of the day wasn’t for another 2 hours, it was nice to sit in this room and connect with it again. No matter what was going on in her life, Devyn took her work and obligations seriously. She tried her best to not let things interfere with her time here. But it was becoming harder and harder over the years.
No, she wasn’t an MC member, but being involved with a member-turned-president was enough to suffer the effects. Depending on what was going on, they ranged from mild to severe.
At the worst time, Sabine asked Devyn to just take care of business and not worry about the place. It was understandable, who would want MC shit dragged into their business.
After setting up and enjoying the room for a moment, Devyn hears a knock at the door. She knows from the rhythm it’s Sabine.
“I was just on my way over to you.”
“I know,” Sabine pauses, “you have a visitor.”
From the way she says it, Devyn knows it’s club-related. Overall, the guys only came by to say hi if nearby or book a massage. The other masseuse was a sweet woman named Deena who came in on weekends and when Devyn couldn’t.
“Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was coming.” Devyn apologizes and heads into the hall. Sabine knew the guys, so it was okay, but she didn't love them being in the shop. They were aware of this and tried to respect her wishes.
Sometimes it felt like having your punk friends come over, and your parents tolerate them but would prefer if they didn't come over at all.
Reaching the front room, Devyn spots Chibs sitting on the bench. The sight of him creates an instant sinking feeling in her gut.
Tumblr media
“I went by the house, figured you were here.”
Chibs had this stern wiseness about him, like a guardian Owl. The Scotsman had a soft spot for her and treated Devyn like a daughter. So seeing him was usually a nice sight, but after yesterday and still being in the dark about what they called Vince back for, she felt more worry than pleasure.
“Hey Chibs,” she smiles and hopes her voice sounds cheerful.
“Can I talk to you, it’ll just take a moment,” he stands up. She sees his gaze shift to behind her, where Sabine must be standing.
“I have a client soon, but sure-” she starts thinking of a place they could meet. The rain continues to pound loudly against the pavement.
Sabine catches her eye and points to the second floor. Aside from a second larger office, there was a smaller room they used as an apartment. It came in handy a lot during the early days when pulling all-nighters and becoming too tired to make it home.
It was a small clean room with the basics, but it did its job. The friends share a nod and Devyn leads Chibs upstairs. Once inside the room, he sits in one chair, his eyes following her as she sits across from him on the corner of the bed.
“You know why I’m here?” He asks.
“No. Not really.”
Chibs raises his brows, “ I like you kid. I care about you. But what you’re playing with right now, it’s not smart.”
There it is.
That sinking feeling again. Devyn presses her palms into her thighs and breaks eye contact.
So much for a drama-free day.
“Devvy, what were you thinking?”
“Nothing happened. We’re friends.”
“Friends,” Chibs huffs, “that's what you kids are calling it now.”
“Chibs.” she gets up kneels beside him, looking him in the eyes, “you know me. Am I lying? Nothing has happened.”
He’s quiet as he studies her face. Finally, after a long moment, he says, “nothing yet.”
When she lowers her head again, he gently touches her cheek, “that boy is in - -crazy about you and just as explosive as Jax when set off. He’s a good kid, solid. But this is a disaster waiting to happen.”
“And Jax, do we honestly think he’s making the best decisions. You tell me, you’re at the clubhouse with him. What’s he up to?” She asks with a little more sting than intended.
Chib's dark brown eyes stay steady, he gives away nothing. Feeling annoyed, Devyn stands and returns to her spot on the bed, this time crossing her arms across her body.
“You and Jacky boy, that's what matters. Give him time.”
“I’ve given him nothing but time, Chibs. You know that. And no, please don’t tell me how much he loves me or any of that. I love you guys, but it's like the default script ya’ll give me and I just can’t hear it right now.”
Chibs stands with a sigh and walks over to her. He touches the top of her head and plants a kiss there, “ I didn't come to upset you, just talk some sense into you. Now,” he smoothes his hair out of his face, “Vincent.”
Devyn looks up at him, her eyes growing wider at the sound of his name. Chibs shakes his head, like a parent who hit a wall. He places a hand on her shoulder and squeezes, “he’s fine.”
Devyn watches as Chibs heads for the door. He stops then turns back, “I’m looking out for you Devy. We know Jax. Jax would kill him.”
Emotion wells up in her chest as she lowers her gaze, unable to look at the warning in Chib's eyes any longer. She only raises her gaze when the door closes, then the anger comes.
Sure, she didn’t have proof yet, but Jax was likely out there doing whatever the fuck he wanted, and deciding to put a mountain between them whenever it was convenient for him.
But she makes one connection while trying her damn hardest to resist temptation, and she is the one who gets warned. It was fucked up. It felt like some kind of cruel joke. For all the ways she appreciated and respected Chibs, at this moment she felt only anger and annoyance.
When she returned back to her room, she briefly glanced at her phone to see a text from Vince. Sliding the screen open, she reads it,
Sorry I went MIA. Club shit last night. Chibs has me running around all over the damn place. You okay?
She can’t help the small smile dancing on her lips, even with Chibs' voice in the back of her mind. She writes back and presses send before turning the lights off. She needed to decompress and come down from the conversation with Chibs before she could help anyone relax.
At work, but I’m okay. Glad you are too.
...
After closing the shop down, with the rain outside finally starting to settle down, Devyn and Sabine hang out on the couch eating chocolate and continuing their conversation.
“The east coast shop is going really well. We’re checking out a Southwest location too.”
“I’m so happy for you, that’s exciting.”
“If you ever end up in the East again, you know you could take the reins there. It would be nice to take a little off my plate.”
“Thank you for the offer Sabine, I’ll keep that in the back of my mind. I don’t know if I’ll go back out that way though…so much is in the air.”
“You know what we haven’t done in a while, just for us?” Sabine asks as she gets up. She vanishes behind the desk and reappears with a card deck, “come, reading room! Grab wine.”
“Oh god, the last thing I need to see is my cards. Trust me, I am very aware of my mistakes and….risks.”
Sabine is already down the hall. Devyn grabs a bottle of wine, the one they started the other day and two glasses.
By the time she enters, Sabine is already sitting at the table, cards spread over the red velvet cloth, a lit candle to the left, and an incense cone burning to the right. Devyn sits.
“Go ahead, shuffle them.” She hands Devyn the cards.
After a moment of hesitation, Devyn takes them. She already got reprimanded by Chibs today, Jax kept texting her even though she didn’t read them, and now, the cherry on top, it was the card's turn to yell at her. Plus, she never got a text back from Vince, who always wrote her back. It was safe to assume Chibs got in his head too.
Slowly releasing a breath, Devyn stops shuffling and gives the cards to Sabine. With her free hand, she takes a sip of wine from the glass Devyn placed beside her then starts laying cards out on the table.
Devyn wasn’t as good with these as Sabine, but over the years she gained a better understanding and could already see where this was going. Chugging some wine, she sinks deeper into the chair.
Tumblr media
“I have to ask love,” Sabine looks at the cards then at her friend, “are you holding on because you want it to work? Or are you holding on because the alternative is scary, unfamiliar?”
When Devyn doesn’t respond, Sabine keeps going, still pulling cards, “I know you love him, and he loves you. If he wasn't so occupied with the Tara girl in high school, I know for sure you two would have been a thing even earlier. But…you might have to let go, as much as that sucks to hear... “ she taps a card, “ even with all the love here Hunny, I don’t see the cycle breaking anytime soon.”
Sabine frowns.
“Not all past life ties are good or meant to last. Maybe you and Jax, you served your purpose,” Sabine speaks as softly as possible, fully aware of how tender this topic is for her best friend.
Devyn speaks up, “He’s a good guy, with a good heart…that guy is still in there, I think."
“And Vincent? What is he?”
The two friends stare at each other, communicating with their eyes. For a while, Devyn kept Vincent to herself.  She only opened up to Sabine when the girl pretty much confronted her about it, knowing Devyn was keeping a secret.
Devyn shrugs and knocks back the rest of her wine. She thinks about how the talk with Chibs could have gone. Chibs was gentle with her because he adored her. And though he liked Vincent too, she was sure that interaction may have been more ….aggressive.
“Don’t do that, the wall coming up, I feel it -” Sabine shakes her head and pulls more cards. She stops to review them, “look at this. The left is Jax, the right is Vince.”
Devyn sits up straight and puts her hand on the edge of the table. She scans the Jax side, then the Vincent side.
“I know you know enough tarot to get that.”
Sabine sits back, bringing the wine to her lips.
Meet me at the clubhouse
Devyn reads the text again as the cab pulls up to the entrance. This was the last place she wanted to be, and the thought of seeing Chibs disapproving stare and whatever state he left Vince in only made her feel more anxious. But Jax kept asking, and after two more glasses of wine with Sabine, she left her car there and came here.
Jax even paid for the cab in advance. Devyn tries to play it cool as she nears the clubhouse entrance. She can hear classic rock playing and lively conversion. Maybe that was a good sign, better than silence or the place is a no man's land.
Before reaching the door, the first person she sees is Chucky, he’s carrying a case of beer. His face lights up at the sight of her as he says hello in French. It must be his new hobby.
“Bonsoir Chucky, here let me help.” She opens the door, holding it for him as he enters.
“Merci. Mademoiselle.”
This little interaction with Chucky takes the edge off. Causing her to enter with a smile instead of anxiously biting the inside of her cheek. Tig, Bobby, and Juice are at the bar with some girls, Chibs behind it.
Tumblr media
As she walks over to greet them, she realizes she doesn't see Vince anywhere. Did Chibs have him on some other random mission to make sure they didn’t cross paths?
“Look who it is! We missed you around here!” Tig beams, pulling her into a hug.
“Yeah, I missed you guys too.”
She makes her rounds, eventually leaving Chibs for last. He greets her as normal, with a warm ‘hey Devy’ and a kiss on the cheek. She turns back around and chats with Juice a little.
He was like an excited puppy and genuinely interested in the stuff in the shop. He would ask about all of it, how things like tarot and crystals worked. It was kind of adorable. He was like a little kid.
Bobby rests a hand on her shoulder, “Jax should be back any minute. He was waiting for you before the errand.”
“Yeah, I was finishing stuff up at the shop.” She replies. She did take her sweet time getting here. Tig passes her a drink, she takes it, and sits on one of the stools.
It was a mix of memories at the Clubhouse; good ones, and bad ones. Overall, the place did feel like a piece of home, and it was nice, at this moment, to be back.
But that feeling is short-lived when the door swings open, it’s Jax followed by Vince, both carrying big boxes.
Tumblr media
Jax winks at her and places the box down. Devyn quickly catches the look of surprise on Vince's face before he sets his eye on something else, anything else but her.
How quickly he looked away leaves a hollow feeling in her chest. Though her back is turned to him now, she just knows Chibs is watching too.
Vince heads off to the right, busying himself with the boxes. Jax cups her face and kisses her lips.
“Thank you for coming," He says sweetly, “can we talk?”
She knocks the rest of the drink back and stands, “ sure.”
Wearing a smile, Jax wraps his arm around her shoulders and leads her toward the back. They enter the apartment and Jax sits on the bed. She perches on the edge of the desk.
“I am not sitting on that. Who knows what has been happening on those sheets."
It was true, Devyn never sat on that thing unless the sheets were changed. In her mind, all these guys and one bedroom; it was safer to stand.
Jax chuckles, “I changed them this morning. Besides, “ he studies her face, “it's just been me in here.”
She nods, her eyes traveling around the room. She almost forgot, on his own, Jax lived like a high school kid or college freshman. The room was a mess.
“I know you’re pissed at me Devyn. I’ve given you plenty of reason to be. I want to come home, our house, our bed.”
A strange feeling moved through her body in response to his words. Was she happy about this? Sad? Devyn fidgeted with the hem of her shirt as his eyes burned into hers, waiting for a response.
“I never kicked you out, Jax. You left on your own. That was your call.”
“I know,” he stands and walks over to her. Bringing his warm hands back to her face, he stares deeply into her eyes, “the club shit, the stress, life after Opie...it's been killing me. I was taking that shit out on you, pushing you away. I’m sorry.”
Devyn nibbled her bottom lip. On one hand, she was processing his words; on the other, she was wondering about Vince and what exactly Chibs said to him. He wouldn't even look at her, not really, and that hurt.
“Devyn,” Jax caresses her face, “let me make it up to you. Let’s go home.”
Jax holds her close to his chest and wraps his arms around her. Not knowing what else to do, or how to respond, Devyn lets herself rest against him. She can feel tears in the corner of her eyes, but they never fall.
And when Jax leads the way out of the clubhouse, and to his bike, she lets him. On the way out, she can see Vince at the pool table with Juice and makes sure to exchange a glance with Chibs before leaving.
She had questions, and he knew exactly what she would ask him about.

This chapter ended up being twice as long as I expected. I hope that helps make up for the long ass wait…. Oh and there is an added bonus at the end of the chapter…..Smut….If you’re into that kind of thing. I apologize in advance if it sucks…. Been a long time since I’ve written steamy sex scenes. Thanks for following along on this crazy ride.

Katrina spent the week following her father’s funeral preparing the house to put up for sale. She had no desire to continue living in the house that harbored so many bad memories. Her only regret is that bad memories out weigh the good ones involving her mom. She went through all of her father’s belongings. She saved the important stuff, family mementos that mainly involved her mom, some things from her father’s past that she’s curious about, and some items from her childhood. She was surprised to find a shoebox in her closet filled with notes that her, Jax and Opie passed to each other in school. She knew that she should throw them away, but couldn’t bring herself to do it. The stuff she didn’t want to keep was piled up in the driveway under the carport beside the garage for the local thrift store to pick up.
She is leaving the furniture in the house at the recommendation of the Realtor. He told Katrina that having furniture in the house gives potential buyers a better idea of the size of the rooms. Katrina doesn’t really care either way, the furniture will be donated as soon as the house sells. The old Dodge Challenger in the garage Katrina plans to keep. Even if she has to rent a storage unit to store it in until she finds a new place to call home. She is only keeping the bare necessities in the house for her to use until she leaves.
She has to admit that she’s a little relieved that she hasn’t had any unexpected guests. Everything has been pretty quiet since the funeral, other than the explosion that occurred the night before last, on the outskirts of town. She can’t help but wonder if Samcro was somehow involved with it. Maybe that was why Jax hasn’t tried to stop by.
Katrina spent some time pouring over the old photos in her father’s stuff. On the back of the photo of him dressed in Native American regalia was written “Pine Ridge Res”. She wondered if maybe his family lived on the reservation. Maybe she had an aunt or uncle still living there. She was seriously considering taking a drive up there to investigate. Hopefully learn more about his past, so maybe she can understand why he became such a bitter asshole of a father. South Dakota might also be a good place to get a fresh start, away from Charming and far away from Vince.
Katrina puts the photos in an envelope and places it with her duffle in her bedroom. She fixes herself something to eat once she realizes that it’s already evening time. While she is eating, she thinks about the meal Gemma prepared for the dinner after her father’s funeral. She still feels a little guilty for leaving the way that she did. Gemma has a good heart, and has always treated Katrina like family, even if she has a tendency to meddle. Katrina knows in her heart it wouldn't feel right to just leave town without expressing her gratitude to Gemma for all of her help. Once Katrina finishes eating, she cleans up then grabs her jacket. She’s getting a little stir crazy at the house and decides to head over to TM to see if Gemma is still there working in the office. It’s getting a little late, but she remembers Gemma used to work all hours of the day and evening depending on how busy they were.
As Katrina rode her Harley to the shop she knew she was taking a chance on running into Jax. Hopefully he’ll be out doing club stuff, and won’t notice her there. When she pulled into the parking lot at Teller Morrow it was mostly empty save a couple cars and bikes. She parks her bike near the office, relieved to see Gemma’s car parked near the door. When Katrina turns off her bike, she’s surprised that there’s no loud rowdy music coming from the clubhouse. It’s actually pretty quiet. There is light filtering from the office window, so she’s fairly confident that Gemma’s inside. Katrina quietly walks inside the open door, catching Gemma off guard.
“Hey baby, what brings you by?” Gemma asks with concern in her voice. Katrina notices that Gemma looks tired, like the weight of the world is resting on her shoulders.
“I wanted to apologize for leaving the dinner the way I did last week. I feel really bad about it, especially after everything you did to help. I think all the emotions were getting to me, and it was hard listening to all the stories about my father.” Katrina sincerely expresses to Gemma.
Gemma gestures to the chair next to desk, and Katrina takes a seat. “That’s ok baby, I know how hard it is to lose someone. It can take a minute to process everything going on. How are you doing now?” Gemma asks while lightly rubbing Katrina’s arm that is resting on the corner of her desk.
“Better. I cleaned out the rest of the house, got it listed with a real estate agent.” Katrina replies.
Gemma looks a little surprised. “So I guess that means you’re not planning on sticking around.”
Katrina can hear the disappointment in Gemma’s voice. “I don’t belong in Charming anymore. Never really did. I’ll probably stick around for a little bit to make sure everything goes ok with the showings of the house. Then I’m probably gonna take off.”
Gemma shakes her head at Katrina’s first comment. “You’ve always belonged here, Kat. I know Jax and Opie have missed you. I’ve missed you. You were like the daughter I never had. Don’t ever feel like you don’t belong here. You’re family.” Gemma looks Katrina straight in the eyes as she grips her arm.
Katrina sighs as she looks away. If only Gemma knew the truth about her father, maybe she’d understand why this town carried so many bad memories for her. Not to mention the whole Jax and Tara thing. “How are things going here? The clubhouse is pretty quiet.” Katrina asks trying to change the subject.
Gemma loosens her grip on Katrina’s arm. “Been a busy last few days. The club’s dealing with a Mayan problem. Jax’s junkie whore of an ex-wife, Wendy, just gave birth to his son. We don’t know yet if the baby is going to make it. He was born 10 weeks premature with a tear in his abdomen and the family flaw. I just got back to the office after spending a few hours trying to straighten up Jax’s house from the mess his ex left.” Gemma grabs a cigarette from her pack on the desk and lights it.
Katrina is in shock. She didn’t know Jax had an ex-wife and a newborn baby. “Wow. I had no idea.” She’s a little surprised that he was involved with a different women. She had alway imagined that he’d be married to Tara.
“Yeah, it’s been a little crazy around here.” Gemma sighs. “Jax won’t see his son in the hospital. Something about not wanting to get attached incase he doesn’t make it. Which is bullshit, he just doesn’t want to get his heart broken.” Gemma looks at Katrina with a pleading look in her eyes. “Do you think you could talk to him?” Gemma asks hopeful.
Katrina feels uncomfortable with the request. “I don’t know about that.” She tries to decline gently, shaking her head.
“Please, Kat. He won’t listen to me. You and him were so close. Maybe he’ll listen to you.” Gemma pleads.
Ugg. It was the last thing Katrina wanted to do. Get in the middle of family drama. She really doesn't feel it’s her place to get involved, especially since she’s been gone for so long. She’s not as close to Jax as she used to be. She has been trying to avoid that. But seeing Gemma upset breaks her heart. “Ok. I’ll try to talk to him. I can’t make any guarantees that he’ll listen though.” Katrina reluctantly agrees.
“Thank you, Kat. He’s in the clubhouse.” Gemma looks relieved.
Oh shit, right now? Katrina wasn’t expecting to have to do it so soon. She was hoping to have the night to think about how to approach Jax. Katrina reluctantly gets out of her seat followed by Gemma. Gemma takes Katrina in her arms and gives her a little squeeze. “Thank you baby.” Gemma whispers in her ear.
Katrina gives Gemma a light pat on the back before walking out of the office. As she walks to towards the clubhouse she takes deep breaths of the cool evening air trying to steel her nerves. Mentally preparing herself for all the questions she’s sure to get bombarded with. When she enters the clubhouse, all the memories of her, Jax and Opie running around came flooding back to her. It was where she had her first shot of whiskey on a dare, learned to play poker, rocked out to loud music, and almost had her first kiss. It felt like home.
It was pretty quiet inside the clubhouse, with the exception of music playing at a low volume. She was surprised that there was no one there besides Jax. She spotted him at one of the tables, lost in thought and milking a bottle of whiskey. “So I hear congratulations are in order.” Katrina startles Jax from his drink.
Jax looks up in surprise at the intrusion. “You must have been talking to mom.” He sourly replies.
“Jackson Teller, a father.” Katrina teases him as she nears the table.
“Yeah, for how long.” Jax grumbles.
“Your mom said that you haven’t seen your son yet. Why not?” She asks as she takes a seat at the table across from Jax. She notices the sadness in his eyes at the question.
“Don’t really want my heart broken.” Jax replies, staring at the amber liquid in his glass.
“Yeah, she mentioned the heart defect and stomach issues. Something about a junkie whore. Regardless of that, if it was my son, I would be spending every second I could with him.” Katrina tries to encourage him. “Besides that, he’s got a tough as nails father, so he’s gonna be a little fighter. He’ll pull through.”
Jax smiles a little at that last comment. “So what brings you by? Besides doing mom’s dirty work.”
Katrina knows Jax is trying to change the subject. At least she can tell Gemma she tried. “I came by to apologize to your mom about leaving the dinner early after the funeral.”
Jax nods his head softly. “Yeah, everyone was disappointed you left.” Especially me.
“I thought I could handle hearing the stories about my father, but it got to be a little too much to handle at that moment. Brought up a lot of memories.” Bad memories.
“So where have you been for the last 11 years.” Jax asks pointedly.
And so it begins. Katrina can’t help but wonder if it’s too late to walk out the door. She knew Jax was going to have questions, and she had really hoped to avoid them. She gets up from the table to grab herself a shot glass and a coke from the bar, before returning to her seat. This conversation is going to require an excessive amount of alcohol. She grabs the bottle of whiskey sitting in front of Jax and pours herself a shot. Katrina quickly downs the shot, welcoming the burn of the amber liquid as it travels down her throat. She then takes a sip of the coke to calm the burn. Jax patiently waits for her response, taking a drag from the cigarette in his hand.
“When I left Charming, I bought a bus ticket to Vegas. I got a job working at a casino restaurant as a server, and then I found myself an apartment. I became really good friends with a tattoo artist at a parlor in the casino. He let me apprentice under him and has been teaching my how to tattoo and the ins and outs of the business. One day, I hope to have my own shop.” Katrina decides to leave out the part about Vince.
Jax is surprised. The club has a charter in Vegas that he’s visited numerous times over the years. If only he had known Kat was there too. He might have been able to convince her to come home sooner. At the very least, been able to visit her. He’s missed his best friend. When Katrina left, it hurt more than when Tara left for school. It wasn’t until she left that he realized how wrong he was for not pursuing a relationship with her, despite his fears.
“I have to say, I’m a bit surprised that you and Tara aren’t married with a few little ones running around. And what’s this about a ‘junkie whore’?” Katrina asks. Turn about is fair play.
Jax lets out a soft sigh. “Tara left shortly after you did. She went to the university to become a doctor. Then she went out to Chicago to intern at a hospital. She begged me to go with her. To get out of this ‘cess pool of a town’, but Charming is my home. She was pissed that I prospected into the club with Opie, even though it’s what I always wanted. To follow in my father’s footsteps, and be a part of the club that he helped build. We fought about our futures, more than we got along. We started to grow distant from each other. I wasn’t to heartbroken when she left, like I thought I would be. I was more upset about you leaving than her, even though mom blames her for breaking my heart.” Jax confesses. “Tara just recently returned home and is working at St. Thomas hospital.”
Katrina shakes her head, not surprised about Tara trying to change Jax. She had tried to warn him when they were teenagers, but she had alway felt her comments fell on deaf ears. Some people have to learn the hard way. Katrina pours herself another shot and quickly downs it.
“The junkie whore is my ex-wife, Wendy. She was a club hang-around. Her and I started spending a lot of time together. For me, it was about fighting the loneliness I felt after you left. I never really loved her. We got married a few years ago. She started using drugs, so we grew apart. Separated for awhile. Then she got clean, and did a stint in rehab. We tried to make things work again and got back together. That’s when she got pregnant with my son. Things just didn’t line up for us. I wasn’t happy, so we started growing distant again. I filed for divorce a few months ago. Told her I’d help pay the doctor bills for the pregnancy. Haven’t heard from her in a while. Apparently she started using again even though she was pregnant. Mom went over to our house yesterday and found her passed out on the kitchen floor, bleeding between her legs, with a needle stuck in between her fingers. Mom rushed her to the hospital where they preformed an emergency c-section. My son was born 10 weeks premature with a tear in his abdomen and the family flaw. He only has a 20% chance of survival. I should have kept a closer eye on them, maybe this wouldn't have happened” Jax replies with regret heavy in his voice.
“You can’t blame yourself. If she wanted the drugs bad enough, there’s nothing you could have done to stop her. She would have found a way.” Katrina tries to alleviate some of his guilt.
“That may be so, but it doesn’t make me feel any better. I did beat the shit out of the dealer that has been supplying her with the poison. Wendy apologized for what she did and promised that she’s going to get clean, but it’s going to take some time to rebuild that trust. I think she’s more worried about being charged with fetal abuse, then she is about our son. If Gemma has her way, Wendy won’t be a part of our son’s life. I can’t say I disagree with mom on that.” Jax has a defeated look on his face as he pours himself another shot.
Katrina matches Jax’s shot with one of her own. She’s starting to feel a buzz from the alcohol, but she’s not sure if it’s enough to get through the questions that she knows are coming. She isn’t slurring her speech yet, but it is getting a little easier to talk. It almost feels like old times, chatting with her best friend… almost.
“So… Why did you leave town, without so much as a goodbye?” Jax asks while looking directly into Katrina’s eyes. He sees a momentary flash of pain cross Kat’s face.
There it is. The million dollar question. The one she was hoping to avoid. All the pain and bad memories came flashing back to the forefront of her mind. She knew deep down Jax has a right to know, but it didn’t make it any easier. She can’t help but fear that once he knows the truth about her father, he’ll look at her differently. With pity, or guilt for not realizing what was going on and stopping it. She doesn’t want him to feel sorry for her, she fought her own way out and it made her stronger.
Kat pours herself another shot and takes a sip of it before answering him. “One of the reasons I left was to get away from my abusive asshole of a father. Shortly after my mom died, my father started to become distant to me. It was like the sight of me reminded him of what he lost. Almost like he blamed me for her death, even though she died from cancer. He would loose his temper over the smallest things. That lead to him breaking things around the house. If there were dirty dishes left in the sink, he would throw them across the room shattering them against the wall. If I left my backpack on the floor after school, he’d toss it. He started punching holes in the walls, kicking down doors. After while the only thing that seemed to calm him was liquor. As soon as he arrived home from work he’d grab a beer from the fridge, sometimes a couple of them. When the beer started losing its effectiveness he started drinking more hard liquor and getting into drug use. That’s when I started to become his punching bag. If I got in his way he’d hit or kick me. If he felt I was talking back to him he’d slap me across my face. He told me I was worthless, that I was no better than garbage, and that he couldn’t wait until I was no longer his problem.”
Katrina lightly rubbed the small row of scars near wrist with her thumb, slightly hidden by the skeleton torso tattoo on her forearm. She remembers the pain she felt inside from her father’s words and the relief she felt cutting herself with the small knife she kept in her pocket. She never cut herself deep enough for there to be very much blood, just enough for the physical pain of the blade sliding across her skin to distract her from the pain in her heart.
She glances at Jax’s face and sees the shock and anger in his eyes. Before she continues, she grabs a cigarette from the pack on the table, lights it, then takes a deep drag off it to calm her nerves.”That’s why I used to wear long sleeve shirts and jeans in the middle of summer. To hide all the bruises and scratches on my arms and legs. I stayed out as late as possible with you and Opie, hoping that my father would be passed out before I got home. Some times I’d get lucky and he’d be asleep on the couch, other times I was greeted with him calling me a slut or a whore for staying out so late with the guys. I tried to avoid him as much as possible. When it got closer to graduation I started planning my escape. I saved as much money as I could from my after school job, and used it to buy a bus ticket. I just always seemed to be in the way. So when I got old enough, I got out of the way”
"Why didn't you say something? Tell us that was going on.” Jax is heartbroken and angry to find out that his best friend had been suffering and he did nothing to stop it. He remembered the nights when he, Katrina and Opie hung out. Remembered her reluctance to go home when Gemma said it was time to get ready for bed. Or the nights Katrina begged him to hang out for just one more hour, even though it was already getting pretty late.
"What? So that you could 'save me'. I didn't want your pity or for you to feel sorry for me. I didn't need you to fight my battles.” Katrina defends her silence on the matter, a hint of scorn in her voice.
"So you run away instead? Leave behind every one you've ever known. The people that love and care about you." Jax accuses her, the hurt evident in his eyes.
"Seems to me like you were busy loving someone else." Katrina mumbles under her breath.
Jax gives Katrina a confused look. He wasn’t sure he heard her right, but he had a feeling she was referring to his relationship with Tara. “Now that your father is gone, are you planning on sticking around Charming?” Jax asks, hopeful that there may be an opportunity for them to spend more time together. To reconnect.
Katrina sighs before downing the rest of her shot. “I put the house on the market. The stuff I plan on keeping I’m going to get a storage unit for until I find a new place. I’m not planning on going back to Vegas, but I am thinking of heading north. Maybe towards the Dakotas.” She sees the disappointment on Jax’s face.
“I was kind of hoping that you were going to stick around for a bit.” So maybe I could change your mind about leaving. Jax feels crestfallen, his heart is pounding in fear that she’ll leave and he’ll never get a chance to find out if they would be good together. Ever since Katrina returned to Charming, the what if’s and should’ve beens have been plaguing Jax’s mind. He knows now that it was a mistake hooking up with Tara back in high school. It should have been Kat. She always understood him, never made him feel that he had to choose between her or the club. Things might have been so different for both of them.
“I was going to stick around for maybe another week or two, just to make sure there are no problems with showing the house. Incase something major needs to be fixed.” Katrina reassures Jax, although, by the look of his face he’s not.
“So are you seeing anyone?” Jax isn’t sure he really wants to know the answer, but he can’t help himself. He has to know if she’s involved with another man. If there is even the slightest chance he can convince her to stay.
“I was, but it’s over now.” She really doesn’t want to elaborate on her relationship with Vince, and she hopes that answer is enough to appease Jax.
Jax feels a flicker of hope. “You said your dad was one of the reasons why you left, were there any other reasons?” Despite what Kat was going through with her dad treating her like shit, Jax still couldn’t wrap his head around the idea that she would just leave. Without any warning or even a goodbye. They were best friends. He has never felt as close to another person as he did her, and for her to disappear the way she did, crushed him. He has a feeling there is more to the story.
Katrina groans inwardly at the question, but at this point, with the alcohol coursing through her veins she feels there is no point in holding back. She has already confessed one of her darkest secrets by revealing her past with her father, what’s one more secret. It’s not like it can change the past.
“The other reason I left was because it killed me seeing you and Tara together. I’ve had feelings for you since we were kids. I thought as we grew up and got older those feelings would change, but they never did. I was in love with you and it broke my heart seeing you with her.” Katrina confesses feeling extremely exposed. She just laid her heart and soul on the table.
Jax is blown away by her answer. He feels a sense of relief that she shares his feelings. He knew she cared about him when they were younger, but he always felt that she probably cared about him in a sort of brother sister way. To find out that she was in love with him made his heart soar, and gave him even more hope that there is a chance they could be together. If he can convince her to stay and give them a chance. “Why didn’t you ever tell me how you felt?” Jax asks, even though he can guess her answer.
“I was afraid you didn't feel the same way towards me, and it would just come across as jealously towards Tara. That it would change the way you felt around me, the way you acted around me. I was afraid of losing my best friend.” Katrina admits.
Jax feels like a dumbass now. All this time wasted that they could have been together. If they wouldn’t have been so afraid to tell each other. “I also have something to confess. I’ve been in love with you for as long as I can remember. Since we were kids.”
Katrina looks at Jax with surprise on her face. She never expected to hear those words come out of his mouth. Maybe he didn’t mean it. Maybe it was the whiskey talking. "So why didn't you ever tell me how you felt?" Katrina asks, genuinely intrigued.
"Because I was terrified that if or when I fucked things up between us, I would not only lose the woman I loved, but I'd also lose my best friend. It wasn’t until after you left that I realized the mistake I made. And I lost you anyways." Jax admits, his voice filled with sadness and regret.
“If you had feelings for me, then why did you hook up with Tara?” Katrina asks in confusion.
“I had some feelings for Tara, but I don’t think I was ever truly in love with her. She was more of a distraction from my feelings for you. Same with Wendy. Every time I was with them, it was your face I saw.” Jax feels a little weird for revealing that part, but it was the truth. Every woman he’s been with he pictured Kat’s face. Wished it was her, he was with.
“When you were dating Tara, I always felt invisible to you. I felt like you saw me as just one of the guys. You started to become distant to me, so I started spending more time with Opie. It seemed like every time you paid even a little bit of attention to me, Tara would snatch it away. It got to the point, where I started avoiding you, to keep myself from getting hurt.” Katrina confesses.
Jax winces at her words. He hates himself for how he hurt her, even though that was never his intention. In his mind, he was trying to protect her and their friendship, by avoiding what his heart yearned for. “I am so sorry, Kat. I never meant to hurt you. I was just trying to bury my feelings for you because I was afraid. I was afraid you didn’t feel the same way towards me and I’d ruin our friendship. I didn’t want to lose you. You have no idea how much I regret those decisions.” Jax sincerely apologizes. He takes Katrina’s hand into his and looks into her eyes. The years of pain and hurt shine in her eyes and he feels heartbroken that he caused some of that pain.
“Yeah, well, that’s all in the past.” Katrina tries to brush it off. She still feels the sting of all those memories, even if it feels like a lifetime ago.
“What if we gave us a shot?” Jax asks, hopefulness in voice. He has vowed to himself that if the opportunity ever came up to be with Kat, that he wouldn’t hesitate.
Katrina looks at Jax in surprise at his question. She feels butterflies in her stomach at the prospect of finally getting what she had always wanted. To finally be with the man that she has been in love with most of her life, but another part of her feels cautious. “I don’t know, Jax. A lot has changed since we were kids. We’re not the same people we were back then. We’ve both changed. Hell, you’re a father now, and VP of SAMCRO.” Katrina is trying to rationalize in her head why this is a bad idea, even though her heart is pounding with excitement. The alcohol running through her veins isn't helping the situation.
“Come on Kat. We both have feelings for each other. I know the first time I laid eyes on you, when you got back into town, I felt butterflies in my stomach. All of those old feelings I had for you came rushing back. I can’t stop thinking about you, and how much I want you in my life.” Jax pleads with her. He has never wanted something as bad as this. To make a life with Kat by his side.
Katrina hesitates to give Jax an answer. This isn’t something to just rush into, especially with her alcohol hazed brain. She needs some time to think this through. She is supposed to be getting out of Charming, not tying herself down. She can’t help but be concerned about Vince. What if he tries to track her down. As much as she hopes that he’ll take the hint, that she’s not coming back, she can’t help but fear that he won’t be so willing to let her go. Even though she has no doubt that Jax will do everything in his power to protect her, she doesn’t feel it should have to be his problem.
“Jax, it’s not that easy. We both have other things going on in our lives. There’s no guarantee that us being together will even work.” Katrina tries to dissuade him. She doesn’t want to get his hopes up for something that may just be a pipe dream.
“At least we could try. If it doesn’t work then so be it, but I can’t live with the what ifs and could have beens without at least giving it a chance.” Jax tries his best to convince her. If he has to get down on his knees and beg he’s not afraid to do it.
“Maybe we should think this though. Preferably when we’re both not drunk.” A part of Kat wants to say yes….god yes… but she also doesn’t want to agree to something she might regret.
Jax is a little disappointed in Kat’s hesitation, but at least she hasn't said no yet. There may be hope.
Katrina gets up from her chair, her legs feel a bit wobbly. “I should probably head home, it’s getting late.”
“Like hell, you are” Jax replies a little too sharply, while grabbing the keys to her bike off the table. He rises from his seat to face her.
Katrina stares daggers at Jax, a little miffed at his tone. If he thinks he can control her and what she does, he’s got another think coming.
Jax quickly realizes how that came across. “Sorry, I didn’t mean for that to come out that way. It’s just, we’ve both been drinking…a lot. You’ve pretty much matched me shot for shot. I wouldn’t feel safe getting on my bike right now, and I don’t think it’d be a good idea for you to either. I’d hate to wake up in the morning, and find out that you wrapped your bike around a tree or something. You should probably crash here tonight.” Jax tries to explain.
Katrina is a little relieved at Jax explanation. It makes sense, although she’s not sure its a great idea to spend the night at the club house.
Jax approaches Kat, the draw of being near her to great to deny. He gently places his hand on her check, the memory of the bruise around her eye flashes across his mind. His thumb lightly caresses her check bone, but when there is no flinch from her, he is relieved that the wound has healed. He still feels that flash of anger that anyone would dare to raise a hand to her. He slowly lowers his lips to hers, aching to feel their softness against his. He has longed to kiss her for as long as he can remember.
Katrina is a little nervous at Jax’s closeness, but her body is quick to respond despite the warnings in her mind. When she feels Jax’s lips against hers an excitement courses through her veins. The feel of his velvety lips against hers was almost as intoxicating as the whiskey they have been drinking. Jax’s hands start slowly sliding down Katrina’s neck then around to her back, where he gently coaxes her into an embrace. Her body melds to his like it was made for it.
As the kiss deepens, warning bells go off in Katrina’s head. Her rational mind warns her that she should stop this from going any further, but years of pent up longing urge her to keep going. Katrina is swept up in the smells of leather, smoke and light cologne, with a hint of vanilla that seemed uniquely Jax. Before she realizes what is happening, she feels Jax’s hands lightly caress the sides of her breasts before traveling down her waist to rest on her hips. He draws her hips in closer to his and she can feel the evidence of his arousal. His breathing gets heavier, and Katrina feels the butterflies in her stomach.
Even though in her mind she knew this was a bad idea, Jax was like a drug, and she was jonesing for a hit. There was a passion between her and Jax that she had never felt with Vince. Maybe it was because it had been building since their youth. The feelings they had been holding back finally able to be explored. Katrina gives as much as she takes, returning Jax’s kiss with a fever of her own. She lightly rubs the tip of her tongue on Jax’s lips until he grants her access to his mouth. She hears his groan as he starts grinding his erection into her stomach. Jax starts guiding her to his dorm room without breaking the kiss. By the time they enter the room, they are both breathing heavily. Jax kicks the door shut with his foot, not wanting to break contact with Kat.
Katrina reaches for Jax’s belt intent on releasing it as she starts to kneel down in front of him. Jax grabs her arms and lifts her back up. “As much as I’d love to see your beautiful face going down on me, I want tonight to be all about you. I want to show you how strong my feelings are for you.” Jax expresses to her.
This is a new experience for Katrina, and she can’t help but feel a little excited about it. When she was with Vince, it was all about what he wanted and how he wanted it. Often times it seemed their lovemaking was very one sided, with her left feeling unsatisfied. Like she was just a toy for his pleasure.
Jax cups Katrina’s face and gives her another soul searing kiss. She can’t get enough of the taste and feel of his lips on hers. His hands wander down to the hem of her shirt and he gently lifts it up. They break the kiss long enough to get the shirt over her head. Jax then goes after Katrina’s belt, pulling it loose from its buckle, then he quickly releases the button on her dark jeans. He slowly slides her jeans down her legs then ghosts his fingers over her panty clad pussy. He smiles when he hears her sharp intake of breath. Katrina toes off her boots then slides the jeans off the rest of the way.
Jax takes a step back to take in Kat’s beauty while he kicks off his own shoes. Her black bra and panties compliment her tanned skin. He takes off his kutte and drapes it over the back of a nearby chair. The question of whether Katrina has more ink finally being answered. He has seen the tattoos on her arms, but now he’s seeing a large dreamcatcher on one of her sides and a colorful feather on the other. There is a black crow with a purple background on her collarbone and an angry wolf surrounded by roses on her thigh. He can’t help but admire the art adorning her body and is surprised that he finds himself getting even more aroused seeing it.
Jax guides Katrina to the bed where she sits on the edge and watches as he removes his pants and white t-shirt. He tosses them onto the growing pile of clothes on the floor. Jax approaches her in just his boxers not bothering to hide the fact that his cock is straining against the material. He tilts her face up for a quick kiss before his lips and tongue start wandering down her neck. He can’t help himself as he leaves a small hickey just above her collarbone. Jax caresses her breasts over the fabric of her bra, before reaching around to unclasp it and watching in awe as her perfect breasts are exposed. He takes one nipple into his mouth sucking and using his tongue to tease it into a peak, while he lightly caresses the other bud. His gently pinches and rolls her exposed nipple with his calloused fingers until it hardens and becomes sensitive. He then laves the other nipple with his tongue, sucking until he feels Kat squirm. Kat feels a tingling sensation travel from her stomach to her core. She can feel wetness gathering in her panties.
Jax lightly pushes on Katrina’s shoulders, encouraging her to lay back on the bed. Settling between her thighs he continues to lavish her body with attention, kissing and licking his way down to her panties. He starts rubbing her clit lightly through her underwear, just enough to cause her to squirm towards his hand. Her breathing becomes erratic, hitching every time his fingers touches the right spot. He can sense a bit of frustration from her at his teasing, causing his lips to curl into a smirk. Finally Jax runs his fingers along the top edge of her panties, slowly pulling them down her thighs, and leaving a trail of kisses and licks in their wake.
That first flick of Jax’s tongue on Katrina’s clit causes an explosion of sensations coursing through her body. She can’t remember the last time someone went down on her, making this time feel like the first time. Jax’s warm breath, and the feel of his whiskers rubbing on her most sensitive area threatening to send her over the edge. Jax can sense her body tensing up, like a coil ready to snap, so he starts kissing the inside of her thighs to give her a chance calm. Once her breathing returns to some semblance of normal he focuses his attention back on her core. The light ghosting of his tongue in her folds and around that little bundle of nerves feels like heaven to Kat. It doesn’t last long though. Jax quickly starts licking and sucking her bud like a man starved for water.
“God baby, you taste like honey to me, and I can’t get enough.” Jax praises her between breaths, as he laps up her juices.
It takes everything inside of Kat not to lose control. She runs her fingers through Jax’s hair as he continues his assault on her clit. His tongue then prodding her slit, going directly to the source of her sweetness. Katrina’s moans increase, and Jax’s name becomes a silent prayer. She then feels his finger teasing at her entrance. Lightly caressing through her folds, gathering moisture before sliding the slender digit inside her. He pumps his finger in and out, surprised at how tight she is. The feeling of her walls clenching on his finger sending a fresh surge of arousal straight to his already straining cock. He could tell the tip of it was already leaking pre-cum. Jax adds another finger inside her to help prepare her for what’s to come. He twists his fingers around and starts doing a come hither motion. Jax quickly finds that little bundle of nerves inside her that will probably be her undoing. He can feel her clench around his fingers and her thighs start to squeeze. Kat starts pulling his hair as he continues licking her clit and rubbing that hidden gem inside her. He can tell Kat is getting close to her release by her ragged breathing and the tightening of her muscles.
“Fuck, Jax, don’t stop.” Katrina manages between shuddering breaths. She can feel the knots in her stomach unraveling. Her impending orgasm right on the cusp of sending her over the edge. Her moans get louder the closer she gets.
“It’s ok baby, you can let go.” Jax encourages her. “Cum for me. Give me some more of that sweet nectar.”
That is her undoing. Jax’s husky voice beckoning her to release the flood gates. Wave after wave of intense pleasure washes over her. Her vision starts to fade and she is seeing stars. Her body shudders and her juices dribble straight into Jax’s waiting mouth. Jax laps every bit of it up as he slows the movement of his fingers. He tries to ease her down from her climax before removing his fingers.
When Kat’s breathing returns to normal she looks down at Jax’s smiling face. The evidence of her release glistening on he mustache and beard. Jax gently withdraws his fingers from inside her pussy, and she instantly feels a void. “I need you inside me.” There is a hunger in her eyes as Kat pleads to Jax. She wants…no needs, more.
Jax stands up and removes his boxers, finally unleashing the beast. Katrina is a little taken back by the size of his cock. She had no idea he was packing that much heat. Explains the loose fitting jeans. She feels a rush of excitement, and maybe a little bit of fear that it’s going to hurt. Jax sees her concern and reminds himself to take it slow, give her some time to adjust. She is nothing like the crow-eaters he’s fucked, girls that have taken so many dicks it a wonder they can feel anything.
“Do you have a condom?” Katrina timidly asks, suddenly nervous. Jax has already produced one son, she doesn’t want to take any chances that tonights actions result in another.
“Yeah, I do.” Jax can’t help but feel a little bummed about not being able to experience her pussy bareback, but he understands. He reaches into the nightstand drawer and pulls out a little foil package. Katrina watches in fascination as he tears it open with his teeth and pulls out the rubber. Jax strokes his straining cock a couple times then rolls the condom down from the tip to the base.
Katrina scoots up the bed giving Jax room to join her. He settles between her legs and pulls her face in for another passionate kiss. He then guides his cock to her core rubbing the head along her folds, gathering her wetness to help ease his passage. He lines himself up and slowly pushes his cock into her wet slit, going an inch at a time. He slowly rocks his hips back and forth, gaining an inch each time he pushes forward. When he finally bottoms out, he pauses for a moment, giving Kat time to adjust to his girth. When Jax stops, Katrina releases the breath she didn’t realize she was holding. She has never felt this full before. There is a slight burning from the stretch in her pussy, as well as an intense pleasure at the fullness.
“Relax your muscles, baby. It’ll help.” Jax whispers in her ear, concern in his tone.
After a few calming breaths, Kat feels ready for him to start moving again. She tilts her pelvis towards him, and then gives him a slight nod. Jax sets a slow pace at the beginning. The feeling of her tight, constricting walls threatening to send him over the edge. He feels like a damn teenager, ready to blow his load after only a few quick pumps. It takes every ounce of his control to prevent that from happening.
“Fuck, baby, you’re so tight.” Jax whispers almost reverently. He’s trying to stay in control, but he feels it slipping fast as he picks up the pace. Thrusting in and out, fast and faster. His balls crashing against her ass, as her walls clench around him. The tip of his cock brushing against her cervix each time he bottoms out.
Katrina feels the knot in her stomach growing. Every time Jax trusts into her pussy a tingle travels down her spine and straight into her core. She can feel her climax quickly approaching. She wraps her arms around his chest, her nails digging into his back. The moans coming from her mouth getting louder and louder each time his cock brushes against her sweet spot.
Jax can feel her tightening around him, and he knows he’s not going to be able to last much longer. “It’s ok, baby. Cum for me. Cum on my cock.” Jax reaches down to her clit, rubbing circles over it with his thumb.
Katrina is plunging over the edge as another intense orgasm rips through her body. Every nerve ending in her body is tingling as her juices coat Jax’s dick and balls. She clings to Jax’s body as she rides out the high. Jax follows her after a few more thrusts, a wave of euphoria washing over his body as his cock releases rope after rope of warm cum. Jax collapses next to her on the bed, then he draws her into his embrace. His twitching cock still nestled in her depths. They both lay there for a moment trying to catch their breath.
“That was amazing.” Jax says in awe, his breathing still labored. His fantasies of her never even coming close to the bliss he just experienced.
Katrina nods her agreement, exhaustion claiming her body. She nestles into Jax’s warmth as he squeezes her against him. Jax kisses the top of her head, as a feeling of contentment washes over him. He doesn’t want this night to end.
After a few minutes the twitching of Jax’s cock subsides and it begins to soften. He wraps his hand around the base of it to hold the condom in place as he withdraws it from Kat’s warm depths. Even as sleep starts to claim Kat, she can’t help the groan that escapes her mouth at the loss of the fullness in her pussy. Jax chuckles a little at the pout now gracing her face. He disposes of the condom in the trash, before heading into the bathroom to clean up. Once he is done cleaning himself, he returns to the bed with a warm washcloth to gently clean Kat. She flinches a little when he wipes around her sensitive bud. He has no doubt that she’s going to be a little sore tomorrow. When he finishes with the washcloth, he tosses it into a nearby laundry basket, before turning off the light. He climbs back into the bed, pulling the covers over them. Katrina seeks out his warmth again, resting her head on his chest as his arm wraps around her back drawing her close. Sleep quickly claims both of them.

An upbeat, colorful introduction to the new animated neighborhood on the map debuted today, in a music video tour of Karma’s World. The 15 x 11′, CG kids’ series created and executive produced by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges will premiere October 15, exclusively on Netflix.
“I’m so proud of Karma’s World, which was inspired by my oldest daughter, Karma,” said Bridges. “It’s about a girl who wants to bring positivity to the world through her music, and each episode draws on real-life situations faced by kids today. We see Karma use her voice to help her family, friends and community, demonstrating the power young people have to create change. I truly believe that every single person on this earth has the power to change the world for the better – just like Karma! It is important to me that kids and families around the world will identify with Karma’s World, and my goal for the show is to help spread positivity, inspire self confidence in our children, and bring the world together through music.”
Karma’s World follows Karma Grant, an aspiring musical artist and rapper with big talent and an even bigger heart. Smart, resilient, and deeply empathetic, Karma pours her soul into songwriting, channeling her feelings into whip-smart rhymes with passion, courage and her signature brand of humor. In this series, Karma is only beginning to grasp the incredible emotional power that words and music can have. She doesn’t just want to share her music with the world … she wants to change the world with it!
Bridges also lends his voice talents to the series, joining the key cast including Asiahn Bryant, Camden Coley, Danielle Brooks, Tiffany Haddish, Jordan Fisher, Dascha Polanco, Dawnn Lewis, Isaia Kohn, Aria Capria, Kaila Mullady and Ramone Hamilton.
Bronagh O’Hanlon is series director. Halcyon Person is head writer. Series producers are DAnielle Gillis and Lisa O’Connor. Vince Commisso, Cathal Gaffney, Darragh O’Connell, Angela C. Santomero, Wendy Harris and Jennie Stacey are executive producers.
Karma’s World is produced by 9 Story Media Group and its Oscar-nominated, Dublin-based studio Brown Bag Films as well as Karma’s World Entertainment, Bridges’ production company. The animated series will feature original songs focusing on issues such as self-esteem, body positivity, discrimination, creativity, expressing emotions, friendship, family, leadership, celebrating differences and more. Here is a look and the new series being released on November 13th, 2019. Some are mini-series and some are ongoing. I'll usually leave out one-shots and annuals since they are typically related to an ongoing series. Descriptions are directly from the Previews Catalog. If you see something interesting, click the link to order. New Series Favorites - November 13th, 2019 My favorite new series for this week is by far Fallen Angels. Bryan Edward Hill is killing it on a lot of books and I can't wait to get this one. Another very interesting one is Morbius. I'm not super familiar with the character but since he's a vampire, its Marvel, and there is a movie coming, it looks like a good pick up. Black Stars Above is also very interesting from Vault. Vault is establishing themselves with a top 10 publisher for over all units

off the rack #1288
Monday, November 18, 2019
Winter arrived early this year and is here to stay. I started a project yesterday going through our photo albums and labelling them to help when we want to look for a particular picture. I ended up scanning a bunch to send to friends and family to share in a bit of nostalgia. It was fun going down memory lane.
The Immortal Hulk #26 - Al Ewing (writer) Joe Bennett (pencils) Ruy Jose (inks) Paul Mounts (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). So Bruce/Hulk has commandeered a Shadow Base site and has declared that he and his supporters are going to change the world. He spends a lot of time arguing with one potential ally while another ally listens in. Meanwhile the media paints Bruce as a terrorist and the far right go on the attack. I have an interest in current world affairs and this book reflects what is happening right now, which makes for a very interesting read. The Hulk isn't going to rampage willy nilly but has a specific target in mind.
Guardians of the Galaxy #11 - Donny Cates (writer) Cory Smith (pencils) Victor Olazaba (inks) David Curiel (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). This is a very quick read since it is mostly good guys fighting bad guys and setting up next issue's conclusion where someone saves the day.
Detective Comics #1015 - Peter J. Tomasi (writer) Doug Mahnke & Jose Luis (pencils) Christian Alamy, Keith Champagne, Mark Irwin & Matt Santorelli (inks) David Baron (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Mister Freeze successfully resurrects his wife Nora and then throws her into the deep end of crime. I can't blame her for going off the deep end and kicking Victor to the curb. Meanwhile, Batman, Lucius and Alfred race to find a cure for the innocent victims that got frozen. Will Mister Freeze help? The art in this issue really stood out.
Event Leviathan #6 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Alex Maleev (art) Josh Reed (letters). The identity of Leviathan is revealed and it's no one that I know. You're going to have to Google Mark Shaw to learn more. I care more about what he and his minions are going to do next.
Runaways #27 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Kris Anka (pencils) Kris Anka & Walden Wong (inks) Dee Cunniffe & Jim Campbell (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The kids don costumes and head out to fight crime with Doc Justice. Cosplayers are happy.
Punisher Soviet #1 - Garth Ennis (writer) Jacen Burrows (pencils) Guillermo Ortego (inks) Nolan Woodard (colours) Rob Steen (letters). Punisher fans rejoice. This is a top notch team telling a two-fisted tale of Frank versus the Russian mob. Throw in a copycat crime fighter and I'm hooked for the rest of this 6-issue mini. Welcome back Garth.
Elfquest Stargazer's Hunt #1 - Wendy and Richard Pini (story) Sonny Strait (art) Nate Piekos (letters). The more things change, the more Elfquest stays the same. I recognised these elves immediately and decided to see what's up with them since I was really into Cutter and Skywise from the very beginning going back forty years. We catch up with Skywise in this new story. He's got a young daughter now and lives in a peaceful fairy land called Starhome. If you like pure fantasy you should give this a try
Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #3 - Jody Houser (writer) Adriana Melo (pencils) Mark Morales (inks) Hi-Fi (colours) Gabriela Downie (letters). The girls going to the Mad Hatter for help wasn't a good idea. Jervis almost manages to control them for his own nefarious purposes. Now they're on the road again to who knows where. I'm hitching along.
Black Cat Annual #1 - Jed MacKay (writer) Joey Vazquez (art: Felicia & Peter) Natacha Bustos (art: Bruno) Juan Gedeon (art: Dr. Korpse) Brian Reber (colours) Ferran Delgado (letters). This is three separate capers rolled into one big heist. Spider-Man and the Black Cat get married in order to facilitate the robbery. I liked how everything interconnected and how Peter was conned into helping. This is one annual worth picking up.
Catwoman #17 - Joelle Jones (story & art) Laura Allred (colours) Saida Temofonte (letters). Oh man, am I ever glad I didn't bench this book when Joelle went on hiatus. When she writes and draws a book the product is far superior than most. From the cover to the very last page this issue gave me shivers. We're resuming Selina's battle with the crazy Creel woman and Catwoman is going to have a little help from a friend. I can't wait to read the next issue.
Fallen Angels #1 - Bryan Hill (writer) Szymon Kudranski (art) Frank D'Armata (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). The four pages before the credits page absolutely captivated me and then the rest of the issue grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and didn't let go. I was wondering what the heck happened to Psylocke (real name Kwannon) after reading Excalibur #1 and here we have answers. She's leading a new team of mutants going after a very deadly villain by the name of Apoth. So far she's recruited Laura/X-23 and young Nathan/Cable. This title gets added to my "must read" list.
Far Sector #1 - N. K. Jemisin (writer) Jamal Campbell (art) Deron Bennett (letters). This new comic by the award winning science fiction and fantasy author introduces us to Green Lantern Mullein. She's investigating a murder in a city where three alien races co-existed peacefully until now. It's the first murder in 5 centuries in a city with 20 billion citizens. This book lost me right there with that unbelievable stat. The art is absolutely gorgeous but a rookie Green Lantern dealing with this crime is too far-fetched for me. If this were a regular detective in a regular city I might have continued reading. I just don't buy a green Green Lantern in an idyllic world.
The Dollhouse Family #1 - M. R. Carey (writer) Peter Gross (layouts) Vince Locke (finishes) Cris Peter (colours) Todd Klein (letters). This is one creepy comic book about a 19th Century dollhouse bequeathed to a little girl in England in the early eighties. There's magic involved when the girl can shrink and play with the dolls in the house. There's the mystery of where the dollhouse comes from. The creepy part is the Black Room in the house. This issue starts with a crash landing and ends with the punishment of an abusive husband. I am very intrigued.
Morbius #1 - Vita Ayala (writer) Marcelo Ferreira (pencils) Roberto Poggi (inks) Dono Sanchez-Almara (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Michael the living vampire is back on the racks and he's still trying to cure himself of his bloodlust. This starts off with a dumb costumed mad scientist villain followed by Morbius attacking the bad guy's henchmen all to abscond with the experimental serum that might cure him. They never establish what the bad guy's serum was going to do, which made the effect on Morbius predictable at the end of this issue. The only thing that might get me to read more is the hot blonde vampire hunter who shows up and the art in this was superb.
X-Men #2 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) Leinil Francis Yu (pencils) Gerry Alanguilan (inks) Sunny Gho (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Boy, Jonathan Hickman isn't coasting with these mutants. First (spoiler alert) he kills off a major character and now he's adding even more intrigue with a mating of Krakoa and another island. All mutants, good and not so good, were brought together on Krakoa but I always wondered when the not so good ones would start to do not so good things. Apocalypse steps to the fore here. I liked how Cyclops and his kids behaved during their mission to explore the new island.
The Batman's Grave #2 - Warren Ellis (writer) Bryan Hitch (art) Alex Sinclair (colours) Richard Starkings (letters). The art does most of the heavy lifting with nary a caption or word balloon in the first 12 pages. Bryan's pages looked great. Warren then weighs in with a summons for Batman from Commissioner Gordon using the Bat signal. A crooked lawyer has been murdered. I like when Batman plays detective.
Future Foundation #4 - Jeremy Whitley (writer) Alti Firmansyah (art) Triona Farrell (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Can the kids keep evil Reed from getting a piece of the Miracle Man? Looks like it. But wait, there's more. Next issue's conclusion to this story should be just as exciting as this one.
Joker: Killer Smile #1 - Jeff Lemire (writer) Andrea Sorrentino (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) Steve Wands (letters). I'm always willing to try a new book when I see Jeff Lemire's name in the credits because he usually manages to entertain me. I'm not a big fan of the clown prince of crime especially after the Joker became darker and started to kill people. This is the story of Doctor Ben Arnell, a psychologist trying to cure the Joker after the killer's most recent incarceration in Arkham Asylum. It's a story of mind games where a good man finds himself succumbing to the influence of evil. This is another good DC Black Label book worth reading.

"Hey honey," Vince's voice rung through the phone, all warm and Wendy couldn't help but smile, the smartphone stuck between her cheek and shoulder while she washed her hands for what was, probably, the 100th time that night.
"Hey yourself..."
"Everything alright for tonight?" It sounded like he was moving around.
Wendy hesitated. Flu season had hit the town like an avalanche and halfway through her shift she had started to feel really icky. The woozy feeling still hadn't passed and the last thing she had in mind was having dinner. Still, she wasn't a 100% sure if she was sick or if this was just the result of watching dozens of people throw up for the past couple days.
"Wen?"
"Yeah, yeah, all's right," she said before she could stop herself. Truth was, sick or not sick, Wendy wanted to see him. It had been a busy week and she felt like she had hardly seen Vince, which was annoying considering they had just started dating and she wanted to fully enjoy their honeymoon phase, "I clock out in one hour."
"I'll be there," he reassured her, "miss you, honey."
Her face caught on fire, even though no one could hear her and Wendy ducked her head to say it back, "miss you too..." a stupid smile on, heart on her throat.
She heard Vince let out a sigh, "I'll see you in a bit. Bye."
"Bye..." her voice was all breathy and girly, making Wendy cringe. She felt like a teenager. As soon as she hang up, she tugged on her scrubs, trying to collect herself.
No one was paying attention to her at all, but still her heart kept pounding away, face overly warm.
"Doctor Marshall?" a nurse moved forward and Wendy forgot all about her giant crush on her own boyfriend, once more knee deep in disease.
----
"Do you need a ride?" Jonah knocked on her office's open door, poking his head in. Wendy, who had been staring at the paperwork she needed to fill in for her last patient for the past five minutes, lifted up her head and glared at him.
Jonah looked amazing. Where she was clammy with sweat and queasy from all she had seen tonight, he looked like he had stepped out of a magazine. Because, thanks to Jonah being very very convincing (and no one wanting to deal with a sympathy sick doctor on top of sick patients), he had managed to move all his ER shifts for the next two weeks. Instead he had been all over orthopedics.
She was so envious.
"Go away," Wendy grumbled, resting her forehead on her hand once more and glaring at the paper. She was pretty sure she had filled it wrong, written her name where the patient's should be.
Jonah chuckled, "don't be pouty, it doesn't suit you."
"Really, Jon, fuck o-" she interrupted herself with a sudden sick burp, slapping a hand over her mouth. Wendy squeezed her eyes, swallowing the nausea back down, "sorry..."
Jonah's smug smile had all but vanished, his eyebrows up, "Wendy, are you sick?"
"No, I'm fine," she shook her head, "my stomach is just empty, all I had was coffee since lunch."
He glanced at the clock next to the door, it was almost 10, "Wendy..."
"Sorry if I didn't have much of an appetite with people puking around me all week," Wendy rolled her eyes, "I'm fine, you can go. Vince's coming to pick me up."
Jonah looked unimpressed, "and you're going to tell him you're sick, right?"
"I'm not sick," she insisted, "go. I am fine."
"You're insufferable, that's what you are," Jonah scoffed, "feel better."
"I'm not sick!" she called after him, as her best friend turned around to leave. Jonah completely ignored her and Wendy huffed, folding her arms over the desk and resting her forehead on them.
Her stomach churned uneasily, with anxiety and apprehension. Maybe she should call Vince and tell him not to come. She could handle the flu, but he had games to attend and people depending on him...
She sighed, slowly reaching for her phone. Her head ached. Just as she was about to unlock the screen, a text came in.
P.Mgnt: I'm in the parking lot.
Well, shit. Wendy let out a minimal sigh of relief. As much as she didn't want to make him sick, she also just wanted him. Seeing as it was too late now to tell him off, she slowly started packing away her items and headed to the doctor's headquarters to change out of her dirty clothes.
Vince was waiting against his bike, helmet off, streetlights reflecting off the wet tarmac and onto him. She sighed dreamily. Fuck this stomachache, she wasn't about to blow him off.
"Hi-" Wendy skipped closer, throwing her arms around his neck. He was stupidly tall, so when he wrapped his arms around her waist, he actually pulled her off the ground, causing her to squeal into the kiss.
"Hi, honey," Vince bumped his nose over hers, "you're all set to go?"
"Yeah, yeah, I am," she agreed after a split second, considering telling him to head back to the dorms instead of her apartment, but quickly thinking better of it as one of his hands moved from her waist, down to her ass, "let's go?"
Vince handed her the spare helmet and she wrapped her arms around his waist, resting cheek on his shoulder while he drove off. The hospital wasn't close to her apartment, so Wendy closed her eyes and let the movement wash over her.
It was nice, at the start, to be wrapped up around him, wind on her hair and no noise but the rush that turned everything into white noise. Then it wasn't anymore.
Her stomach gurgled unhappily and her head ached, the curves that Vince was making were too steep and she squeezed his hip, "Hey, slow down," Wendy yelled over the wind, so he could hear her.
He nodded, slowed down the bike, "sorry!" he shouted, not looking away from the traffic and she grumbled something to acknowledge his answer, lowering her head to his shoulder once more.
Asking to slow down had been a mistake, now she could feel every turn and there was no longer the cold wind to sweep away the nausea. She squeezed him a little tighter, feeling her belly churn, and churn- Another coffee tasting burp snuck up on her, turning wet and frothy at the end and albeit Vince didn't hear it, he definitely felt her gag.
"Wen? Are you slipping up?" he shouted, moving on the seat so she could get a better grip on him. She squeezed his jacket.
"Pull over!"
"What?"
"Pull-" a small heave interrupted her and she patted his shoulder impatiently, "Vince, pull over!"
He came to a stop briskly, causing a car to honk and her heart to leap to her throat. However as soon as he stopped, she was turning around, unable to dismount, gagging to the curb.
"Shit-" The bike shook as Vince properly put it on park and then he jumped off, holding her steady as she was dipping dangerously to the side, "shit, Wen, what's wrong? Wendy?"
She gagged again, shoving him off by the chest and brown coffee-y puke fell on the street, splashing back on the toe of her left sneaker and narrowly avoiding him. Wendy whimpered as a cramp went through her, the effort of heaving making her head pound, humiliation making it all worse.
"No, honey, don't cry-" Vince was mumbling worriedly over her, reaching in to remove her helmet. As soon as he did, he put it on the bike's handle, then pulled her hair back and away from her mouth, "get it up, you'll feel better."
She shook her head, coughed up another watery stream of vomit and then panted, tears streaming down her face, "my head hurts..."
"Is this a migraine?" His big brown eyes scanned her face, filled with worry and Wendy shook her head, finally managing to sit sideways on the bike and not in the weird facing forward, torso to the side position she was on. It eased a little of the crampy sensation in her belly.
"No, I- Ur-" she gagged lightly and Vince pulled back in case she was going to be sick, but his hands were still on her, one on her face, the other on her neck. Wendy sighed, "I think I caught the stomach bug that's going around. People are dropping like flies."
He grimaced, but looked more relieved than before, "you feel warm, I think you're feverish."
"Yeah," she leaned into his touch, "I'm sorry. I should've told you not to come, I just thou-"
"I'm immune to sickness, you don't have to worry," he rolled his eyes, kissing her forehead, "are you done? Do you think you can hold on?"
"There's no such thing as immune to sickness," she groaned, grabbing the front of his shirt, "give me a second, I'm dizzy."
"Take your time," he shrugged, running his fingers through her hair. His hand covered her entire face, it was comical. Wendy smiled at the soft touch and tipped to the side, her head resting in the middle of his chest. She could hear Vince's heart thumping away, sounding much more anxious than his calm tone.
It took her a couple of minutes, but soon enough she felt a little more steady. Wendy straightened up, patting his arm, "okay, let's get out of here..."
They arrived to her apartment not a second too late, because the minute he parked the bike, Wendy was already rushing up and stumbling away, trying to get rid of the helmet.
"Hey, easy- Easy, let me take it," Vince rushed after her, taking the helmet off and holding her hair, "breathe in, you're o-"
She pushed a hand on his stomach, shoving him out of the way just in time to throw up a small amount of bright yellow bile. Vaguely Wendy was aware this wasn't good, that her stomach was all empty already. She heard Vince say a string of words she didn't understand and then he slowly pulled her away from the puddle.
"Better?"
"Hurts..." Wendy groaned, leaning in to press her forehead to his chest, "everything hurts..."
He scoffed something, then Vince's arm wrapped around her knee and Wendy let out a surprised gasp as he lifted her up bridal style. The movement did nothing to ease the nausea, but at least she didn't have to support her own weight anymore. She muffled a sick burp against his biker jacket.
"Try not to puke on me," he joked, causing her to let out a tired huff , wrapping an arm around his neck.
"Consider it payback for all the previous times."
He let out an amused huff and Wendy let her eyes slip closed, relishing on the fact Vince could hold her so easily.
She was dizzier and more exhausted than she thought, because next she opened her eyes, she was tucked in bed, Vince moving quietly around the bedroom.
"Vin?" Wendy called, only to gasp. Her throat felt like she had gargled with glass.
"Here, here-" He sat on her side of the bed, placing a hand behind her head to lift her up, the other one bringing a glass of water to her lips. Wendy pushed him off slightly, she wasn't so weak she couldn't hold her own glass.
"Have I been out for long?" she asked as soon as he took the glass back, collapsing back into the pillows. Vince pushed her bangs back, opening a worried smile.
"Nope, just a little bit... How's your stomach? Water's staying down?"
She grimaced, rolling on her side and resting an arm across his lap, "not sure... Cuddles?"
Vince let out a soft huff, smiling, "yeah, just let me change first."
She glanced at her bedside table while he stripped off, Vince had placed a bowl there, alongside the glass of water and- "bernardyl?"
"Only thing I could find in your first medicine cabinet," he shrugged, ditching his shirt on top of her dresser and the jeans on the floor. If she hadn't been so tired, she would've minded it, "for a doctor, you really have nothing here."
"That's because I get all my drugs in the hospital," Wendy scoffed, turning on the opposite side, so she could smush her face to his naked chest, throwing an arm around him. Vince's hand came to rest in the middle of her back, rubbing up and down.
"Yeah, yeah, you've got a little annoying febbre, so let's hope it doesn't go up," he mumbled, chin pressed to the top of her head and Wendy groaned, moving to press more of her body to him and squeezing her eyes shut as it made the cold water slosh in her belly.
"Wen?"
"I'm..." another steady breath, "I'm fine. For now."
"Not sure if I believe you, doc" he squinted at her and Wendy opened a tired smile, falling back down and planting a kiss on his naked shoulder.
"I'm not sure I believe it either," she sighed, trying to ignore the horrible chills going down her spine, "just cuddle me for now, though."
She felt his chest shake with a muffled chuckle, "alright, this I can do."

Things I want to see if Pikaia gets a Season 3
Aside from the romance nonsense in my other post. Because the only pairing that’s remotely possible is Vince x Hanna, and even that‘s basically sunk due to Hanna x sweets.
-30 minute episodes. Well, I can dream.
-The Elfin girls appearing in the show proper. I’m not entirely sure what they would do, but I’d love to see it. I’m assuming they’re a real idol unit in-universe, since Hanna sang their song to the cactus. Maybe they could have an episode where Vince, Hanna and Wendy go to an Elfin concert. Probably Morris, Will and Harry would come too, and Morris finds some way to troll the girls.
-Irma seriously needs to do more. I mean, she mostly just sits at a desk in front of the earth. But I like her usual composed, iron-willed demeanor. That honestly makes seeing her get seriously pissed over Evol or flustered because of Frazer in S2 all the more interesting to me. And she’s a former scientist turned president of the world. And pretty. I love her character design, especially her younger look. So yeah, please give her more to do.
-Let Black Pikaia go on missions with the divers. Whether they re-create her with the data or use the current one. It would add a really interesting dynamic  to have two Pikaias to use. Especially because of Pikaia’s tendency to get attacked by vicious creatures. And I’d like to see the two of them as a battle couple.
-Morris needs to switch back to his S1 hairstyle.
-I would love more flashbacks. The one this season was interesting, but pretty short. Even a whole prequel season would be cool. I’d like to know how Vince and Hanna got into the time-investigations, how Wendy started working for Frazer, how a lot of stuff got to be the way it was.
-Dinosaurs. I mean, they’re running out of eras. It kind of has to happen, and it would be awesome. They already had the dimetrodon this season. Which, I always thought was a dinosaur as a kid. (I’ve heard prior to watching this show that it’s not, but it certainly looks like one.)
-I want to know the characters’ ages. Even if not in the actual show, at least from an official source. I was surprised this season when Wendy claimed to be older than Vince and Hanna. Based on S1, I thought she was younger. I wonder how much older, though. Probably around 15, since those two are 14, though it would be quite a twist if she’s actually significantly older. (Hey, we have Komoe from Index. Anything’s possible.)
On Fujisaku’s twitter, he did art of a young Morris, but said he actually was pretty young anyway. I guess he’s in his 20s? Given the 20-years-ago flashback, Frazer and Irma are probably 40s or so. Parker probably 60s/70s, Or maybe however old the real Andrew Parker is, since he’s based off him. (Speaking of which, I’ve been wondering if Morris was named after Simon Conway Morris. Most likely, since from what I’ve read, he studied Cambrian fossils, including the pikaia.)
-More Captain Frazer! His personality transplant was one of the biggest highlights in S2 for me. Because seriously, he was a huge egotistical jerk in S1. Either he was hit over the head really hard between seasons (probably by Irma), or he’s actually like the S2 tester Pikaia, wherein he was created via science with the old Frazer’s data. (Then reprogrammed.)

Vince having to call Wendy for help because Jonah is really sick/badly hurt and the guys don't know what to do.
Feeling like overindulging into my Wendy/Vin feelings! Let's go. Originally this was a much worse injury, but I felt icky making it about Wendy/Vin, so instead have Jon with a broken foot.
Vince knew anyone would tease him merciless over this, but his safe place was the gym. There was something about putting on headphones and just paying attention to the rhythmic sets of exercises and the nice pain settling into his muscles that calmed him down like nothing else.
So when suddenly there was yelling and people rushing around, he was so zoned out that it took him five whole minutes to realize he recognized that voice.
He pushed down his headphones and moved towards the people who were fretting over someone - and yeah, sure enough, Jonah was sitting down with his leg raised and a scowl so intense that Vince immediately clocked it on him trying really hard not to cry in pain. There was a man, a slim but ripped dude, who was apologizing non stop.
"I got him, I got it," Vince said, before he could stop himself, moving towards Jonah, whose head snapped up and he wasn't fast enough to hide his relief.
"I'm really, really sorry-"
"Sorry isn't gonna magically fix my foot now, will it?" Jon snapped angrily and Vince put himself between his fallen friend and the man whom was about to have his head bitten off.
"C'mon, Jon, hospital with you," he said, offering a hand to pull Jon up. The man went willingly, then swayed on the spot, so Vince wrapped an arm around his torso.
There was blood soaking through the very tip of Jonah's training shoe and he didn't dare putting that foot down. He limped forward and Vince could tell the pain was starting to make him woozy, with how grey his skin was turning and the cold sweat collection over his lip and on his neck.
"Car keys? Unless you think you can hold on, then we can take my bike."
"I don't wanna go on your stupid bike," Jonah scoffed, leaning heavily on the outside wall of the gym, the minute they stepped out. Vince rolled his eyes, but let the snide remark sly. His friend was clearly in a lot of pain.
"Alright, car keys it is."
"Inside," Jonah pointed over his shoulder, back to the gym, "with my bag."
"Capisco, give me a minute," Vince patted his shoulder in a reassuring manner, but that only caused Jon to slump against the wall, eyes squeezed shut.
When he made it back outside, five minutes later, Jonah's condition had deteriorated considerably. His breathing was very fast and shallow, causing Vince to cringe.
"You're gonna make yourself faint," he warned the other man, looping an arm over his back again and guiding Jon to his sports car. Jonah let out a little groan.
"It hurts like a motherfucker, Vin."
"You think it's broken?" Vince carefully pulled the passenger door open, fixing his arm on Jon's waist and practically lifting him off the ground to make the maneuvering easier when helping him inside.
"Oh for sure," Jonah groaned, rubbing a hand over his sweat covered face. Vince ran to the driver's side and the minute he turned on the car, Jon said:
"Siri, call Wendy Marshall."
"Calling - Wendy - Marshall," answered the robotic voice and then the car was filled with the sound of the dialing. Vince squeezed his hands around the steering wheel, suddenly nervous.
It rang for times before it was picked up, Wendy's sweet voice filling the car, "Jon, honey, now's not a-"
"Are you at the hospital?"
"Yes," she replied bitterly, "I got a bunch of hours to make up for, remember?"
"Can you get down to the ER? Some idiot broke my foot," despite his firm words, his voice was slightly slurred by the pain. Wendy let out a scoff.
"Yes, are you almost here?"
"Five more minutes," Vince answered, if only to make his presence known, and there was a minuscule noise from the woman, one he didn't recognize.
"Oh hi, Vince," she said casually and Jonah rolled his eyes.
"Meet us downstairs," he bossed, then hit the end call button on his panel, before she could say anything. Vince frowned.
"That was rude, man."
"I'm in so much pain I feel like I'm gonna vomit, excuse me if listening to you two bicker is not very high in my priorities list, Vin."
"We weren't gonna bicker..." Vince pouted, but Jonah didn't dignify him with a response.
True to his word, five minutes later they parked in the staff's parking lot and Vince helped Jon inside, holding even more of his weight now than he had before. He was getting the sense that Jon's pain tolerance was significantly downplaying how bad the injury was.
Wendy was ready for them with a wheel chair, and Vince offered her a weak, awkward smile. He couldn't help but notice she looked really tired.
"How the hell did this happen, Jon?" she asked the minute Vince carefully set him down on the chair and Jonah's mask of control slipped away. He leaned his head back, against her stomach and sighed shakily.
"Idiot dropped his kettlebell on my foot."
Wendy wrinkled her nose and went to push his chair, but Vince leaped at the opportunity. Now, with no heels, he could fully take in how short she was.
"Let me," he said, taking her place and Wendy hesitated for a split second before moving so she was ahead of team and guiding the way. They entered her office, the same one Vince had nearly passed out on and she chewed at her lip.
"I'd normally ask you to get on the bed, but you're looking really pasty, Jon," Wendy sighed, tugging at her deep blue trousers and sitting on the cold floor, "you should've removed the shoe when it happened, now it's swollen and it's gonna hurt even more."
"I was a little busy," Jonah tried to say in a sarcastic voice, but it came out more like a whimper as Wendy proceeded to undo his shoelaces. Instead of only undoing the top knot, she removed the shoelaces entirely, stretching the shoe as much as she could before slowly pulling it down his foot.
Vince let out a nauseated noise and turned his head at the sight and Jonah followed suit, gagging on his fist and letting out a cry. The kettelbell had crushed his toe and the finger right next to it. The whole foot was swollen and purple and the toenail had completely slipped off.
"I'm gonna puke," Jonah groaned and while Vince rushed to grab the emesis bowl, hearing the clear nausea on his voice, Wendy was all calm and collected. She put a hand on Jonah's knee and squeezed.
"Hey, look at me," she said firmly, but still gentle, "it's not that big, we see much bigger ones every day, right honey?"
"Don't- don't baby me," Jonah groaned, but he nodded and squeezed his eyes shut. Wendy rolled her eyes, flashing Vince an amused smile.
"It's always the big guys," she teased lightly, still squeezing Jonah's leg in an affectionate way, "keep your eyes closed, I'm just gonna suspend your leg and we'll ship you off to x-ray, okay?"
"He doesn't need x-ray, it's very clearly broken!" Vince cried out, looking at the wound again, only to grimace. Wendy leveled him with a stern glare.
"We're not doing an x-ray to check if it's broken, but how broken it is. I need to know if he's got hairline fractures up his foot or not, for example," she looked at Jonah again, who had stopped gulping down convulsively, "how are you holding up, Jon?"
"Stop fucking babying me and numb the area," he groaned, making her nod, although he didn't see.
"On it," Wendy promised, getting up from her crouched down position and kicking Jonah's abandoned shoe under her desk. She wrote something down his file, attaching it to the chair's arm and sighed, "alright, Jon, I'm gonna hook you up some nice drugs while they clear the x-ray."
He let out a sigh of relief and Wendy opened a small, tiny smile as she guided both men out of her office. Once they reach the shared room of bays, Wendy reached for one of the IV poles and then required an IV bag, along with the medication.
"Any allergies I should know?" she asked softly and Vince kept staring at her. He wasn't sure he had ever heard her be this gentle. No wonders she was a doctor.
"Nope," Jon's voice was a little drowsy from the pain and he had his eyes pressed firmly closed. It felt like it took forever, but Vince knew it had taken just ten minutes for her to inject the painkiller on his IV and then another, much smaller dose of anesthesia right on his foot.
Then a nurse came to wheel "Dr. Banks" away, which cause Vince to snort and roll his eyes.... And he was left all alone with Wendy. Vince had never been shy a day in his life, but now...
"Uhm- You're really good with him," he said as if Jonah was his toddler and not a grown man. Wendy's face lit up.
"It's easy because we're the same," she shrugged, leaning softly against a wall and rubbing her eyes. It caused Vince to wonder how many hours she had slept the previous night, by how tired she looked.
"...Could I pay you a coffee?" He blurted out and she opened the eyes she had closed with a small yawn, shocked, which only caused him to stumble over his words.
"As in- As in buying it for you, because you look super tired and it'd be a small thank-"
"My shift ends in forty minutes, would you stick around?" she interrupted him, her cheeks all red, but her voice firm, "Jon isn't going anywhere for at least one hour."
His heart seemed to stop in his chest and Vince nodded eagerly, "Of course."
She smiled, "alright... I'll meet you outside in forty, pussy magnet."
"You have to stop with that!" He cried out, just as she turned around and started walking back to her office.

Note
I just reread your fic were Jonah had a vertigo episode and Vince told him he was dating Wendy.
I just love Jonah and his friendships with both Vince and Wendy so much.
So I'd like to request Jonah taking care of either Vince or Wendy.
!!! This ask made all my braincells dance, I never got a request for Jonah x Vince's brotp, so I just had to rush and write it. Someone else asked for concussed Vin so... The best of both worlds. This is a part 1
-------
Jonah drummed his fingers against the steering wheel, trying to quell the anxiety and annoyance inside of him. He still wasn't quite convinced this wasn't a prank.
Concern stirred in his chest and Jonah pressed the gas pedal a little harder. He'd be furious, but he'd rather this was a prank, actually.
It wasn't rare for Vince to text him. Their conversation was mostly unilateral, with Vin bombarding his instagram DMs with memes, messages that Jonah rarely reacted to aside from one snippy line here and there, but that he treasured a lot. When Vince went radio silent in their non reciprocal chat, Jonah worried.
It was, however, very unusual for Vince to call him. When they went on double or triple dates, it was Wendy doing the calling, never Vin.
So Jonah had been dumbfounded when his phone had rang in the middle of the day, Vince's name displayed across the screen.
He glanced at the map on his GPS, then scanned the deserted road, as if he'd see Vince- As soon as he turned the next exit, Jonah's stomach dropped to his feet.
Sadly it hadn't been a prank.
There was a tree fallen on one side of the deserted, middle of nowhere road, tire marks on the wet tarmac and then Vince, sitting on the curb, with his motorcycle fallen a couple feet away from him.
Jonah parked the car hastily, jumping out and power walking to his friend, "What the hell happened?"
Vince looked up from the ground, squinting at him, "uhm- Car, lost control-" he was slurring, gesturing to the site of the accident, "hit me straight on."
"Where is the bloody car right now?" Jonah seethed, crouching down to get a good look at Vince's face. He wasn't wearing the helmet anymore, it was on the ground near his boots. His face was milky white, a hard frown in the middle of his brows making Vince look quite intimidating.
"Drove off..." Vin rubbed his neck, then met his eyes and Jonah's anger all but doubled. Some jerk had hit his friend and simply driven off? "I'm sorry... I-"
"Shut up," Jonah rolled his eyes, leaning in to plant his fingers on Vince's vitals, "how hurt are you?"
"Not sure," Vin mumbled, shifting uncomfortably as Jonah explored his neck in search of bruises, personal space be damned, "my side hurts."
"Lean back, lift up your shirt," Jonah bossed and expected a cheeky Vince-esque remark in return. An at-least-buy-me-dinner-first line or even I'm-telling-Leo. Instead he got sullen silence and obedience, which only made him all the more worried.
Vince gingerly unzipped his jacket, then attempted to pull up his shirt, but he didn't get very far. His grip on the fabric was weak and his arm didn't seem to be cooperating. Jonah mentally made a note to check his shoulders, then slapped Vince's hand away and pushed the shirt up.
There was a nasty cut, covering all of Vince's left side, starting a couple inches under his armpit and going all the way near his belly button, surrounded by scrapes and scratches. It wasn't deep, otherwise he'd probably be bleeding out, but it was ugly nonetheless. The blood had already clotted over.
"Shit, Vince," Jonah frowned, leaning in to inspect the wound, "I think this need stitches..."
"Uhm, are you sure?" Vince blinked heavily, "can't you just- I don't know, band-aid it?"
Jonah stared at him, unimpressed, "You're a piece of work," he scoffed, then pushed the shirt back down, "what else hurts?"
"My foot," Vince gestured his left foot, "I think I broke it."
"And you didn't start by saying that?!" Jonah raised his eyebrows, sitting back on his heels to undo Vince's boot and carefully remove it. His foot was swollen alright and purple around the ankle, but once Jonah poked him on the sole, the toes all curled in reflex, "I don't think it's broken, but you definitely need an x-ray to check for hairline fractures or any torn ligaments- In fact, I think you need a whole body check up, Vin."
"I'm fine," Vince groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. He had scratches all over his chin, dried blood where his eyebrow had split open, "I just wanna go home. Can you drive me home?"
Absolutely not, Jonah thought, but instead he nodded, "sure, I'll drive you home," he lied with an eyeroll, barely keeping the sarcasm from his voice, "you didn't happen to get the asshole's car plate, did you?"
"Nope," Vince seemed completely drained, "can you not tell Wendy? At least until later."
Wendy was in NYC, visiting her family, so Jonah shrugged. He wouldn't be talking with her until tomorrow, "okay... Put your arm around my neck, c'mon."
Between the wounded foot, the nasty gash on his side, the probably dislocated shoulder and the fact that Vince was fucking 6'4, it was a hassle to get him up and limping to the car.
Jonah was sweating and panting by the time he got Vince sitting down again. This would've been easier if Luke was here... Jon pushed the thought aside almost with a scowl. He hadn't called Lucas and he figured there was a reason why Vince had called him instead of his siamese twin.
"Jon," Vince leaned his head heavily against the inside of the car, near the door, "can we go?"
"Hold on a second, let me just get some pictures of your bike," Jonah squeezed his shoulder, "hang in there, don't fall off the car."
Vince's bike was in a surprisingly decent shape. The were some parts from the front scattered around the ground and the front tire had been slashed open- Jonah shuddered as he pictured just how the bike had gotten that way, Vince being catapulted out of it. He snapped a couple pictures, jolting down the license plate and then rushed back to the car.
"Be honest with me, were you speeding?" Jonah asked, as he put the seatbelt around Vince, wincing in sympathy as he felt his friend recoil when the wrap hit his wounded side.
"No," Vin leaned his head back, breathing through his mouth, "no... Raining..." he mumbled, as if that explained everything.
"Okay..." Jonah started the car, glancing nervously at the man lying right next to him, "hey, don't pass out," he poked Vince's thigh five minutes later, as he noticed him sliding down the seat, "I need you to stay awake, you could be concussed."
"Not concussed," Vince groaned, sitting up straight once again, "just in pain."
"Where?" It was a dumb question and Vince could say everywhere and it'd probably count as an accurate answer, but Jonah wanted him to keep talking. For once he missed the incessant chatting.
"Side," he answered quietly, "fuck, my bike..."
"I'm gonna call someone to tow it, it's okay," Jonah rolled his eyes, starting the windshield wiper as the rain started back up. He noticed Vince's teeth chattering, "are you cold?"
"Uhm..." Vin nodded, then leaned forward, resting his forehead on the dashboard, one hand resting on his stomach, "don't feel well, Jon..."
"Not concussed, uh?" Jon scoffed, already pulling the car to the side of the road. He reached over Vince when the man didn't move and unlocked the door, undoing his seatbelt, "c'mon, Vin, don't be an ass, puke out of the car."
Vince obeyed silently, making Jonah feel just a touch more concerned. He hated that his bantering wasn't getting an answer, it was widely out of character.
Vin hung his torso out of the car, bracing heavily against the door and let out a weak heave, followed by a pained gasp, "hurtssss..."
Frowning, Jonah planted a hand on his shoulder to keep Vince from falling off the car and then moved the other one down his spine. His leather jacket had been slashed clean through, something he hadn't noticed before. Vince heaved again, a delicate gagging that was so unlike him, followed by a whimper. Jonah drummed his fingers gently over his wounded side and then pulled his hand back as he met a weird poking under the skin.
"Goddamit, Vince, I think you have a broken rib," that would explain why he was struggling to even vomit without crying from pain.
There was a noise from his friend, followed by yet another retch and then Vince was choking on the liquid, vomit rushing out of his mouth and splashing on the road.
Jonah's stomach churned with sympathy and he squeezed his hand on Vince's shoulder, turning his face away and trying to tune the awful noise out.
Vince heaved again, whole body convulsing with the pain, and Jonah ducked his head, not bothering to muffle his own wet belch. He could taste his lunch all over again.
"Sssorry..." Vince groaned, from his right, before coughing once again and heaving loudly, the noise much louder now. Jonah heard, distinctively, as he emptied out the last of his stomach contents and was reduced to a mess of dry heaves and sobs from the pain.
He straightened up, sniffling and wiping the tears from his cheek, "sorry, Jon-"
Jonah ignored him, flinging his own door opened and bracing against it as he belched again, his lunch threatening to leap to his throat. He swallowed convulsively, gagged and then thumped his chest to dislodge one sick burp, spitting all the thick saliva on the road under. Stomach more or less settled, Jonah straightened up, daring to look at Vince.
He felt beyond humiliated. It was such a pathetic display, to be unable to help his loved ones when they got sick because his own stomach was too weak, "I'm sorry," he grumbled, voice rough and thick.
"I'm so-"
"You look awful," Jonah interrupted, choosing to do this instead of telling him to shut the fuck up and stop apologizing for daring to be sick with a probable concussion, "Vin, I'm taking you to the hospital."
Vince frowned, shaking his head, "I'm fine, really-"
"You have a broken rib, for sure. A sprained ankle at best. That wound is gonna need at least 50 stitches. I'm pretty sure you're concussed and fuck - who knows what else," Jonah glared at him, enumerating the injuries on his fingers, "I'm driving you to the hospital."
"It's gonna cost my right arm and for what? For broken ribs they only tell you to rest and take painkillers. I'm not concussed, I know how a concussion feels like. My foot they'll also just tell me to not walk around and let it heal. I don't need stitches, I'm not even bleeding anymore," Vince said, sounding annoyed and glaring at Jonah, "I thought you wouldn't make a fuss."
Jonah's glare took a steely turn, as he realized Vince had called him specifically because Lucas would've been frantic and probably called an ambulance. It was insulting, "Fuck you," Jonah scoffed, "Did you think I'd find you all mangled and just be like here, I'll drive you to the dorms so you can have internal hemorrhage in the middle of the night? Just because I'm not Lucas? Go fuck yourself Vince," Jonah spat out, slamming his own door shut and starting the car back again.
A heavy silence fell upon them. Jonah stubbornly ignored it, seething with anger. From the corner of his eye he could see Vince looking away from him, a pained frown on, the closest he could get to pouting in this much pain.
It went on for good fifteen minutes, until Vince broke it by mumbling a small, rough "I'm sorry. That was stupid of me."
"Uhm," was all Jonah answered, still just as furious.
He squeezed the steering wheel between his fingers, with much more force than necessary, and rolled his shoulders. The ugliest part of him wanted to yell at Vince a little bit more, bitterness coating the inside of his mouth.
"Jon," Vince interrupted his spiraling angry thoughts and Jonah pointedly ignored him.
"Jonah," Vince said a bit more strongly and Jon sighed, looking away from the road.
"What? If you'll try to get me to not dri-"
"Pull over," Vince groaned, a hand clasped tightly over his mouth, "now, Jon."
Jonah cursed under his breath, they were no longer in an empty road, but close to the hospital and it wasn't as easy to pull over so soon, "hold on, hold on-" he chanted, signaling the need to stop and scanning the crowded street for a spot.
Next to him, Vince let out a gag, hunching over further.
A car pulled out in front of a store and Jonah rushed to take it's spot. It was a tight fit, but-
Vince gagged again and then Jon heard a whine as liquid splashed on his hand and lap, "fuck-"
Jon pressed his eyes closed, the car coming to a swift stop, but clearly he was too late. He breathed in deeply, forcing himself to be on check as he turned to his friend, to assess the mess... "fuck, Vince."
Vince hadn't quite made a mess, because he hadn't puked actual vomit. Instead there was bright blood in his hand.
"I... This can't be good, right?" Vince's voice was shaking and Jonah shook his head no.
"No, it's not," he agreed, noticing Vince's eyes the size of platters, clearly mortified, "c'mon, let's get you checked up."
Jonah couldn't remember if he had ever seen Vince be scared before. Even when he had been severely dehydrated, almost a year ago he had been more annoyed and out of it than scared.
Now he was very awake and aware of everything, much to Jon's dismay. He couldn't help his own sympathetic wince as Vince got transferred from his car to the emergency bed, the paramedics grumbling about Jonah driving him there in the first place instead of calling an ambulance.
He busied himself with getting Vince's bike picked up and then sat on the waiting room, hating to be on the opposite side of the hospital experience for once.
His phone buzzed and Jonah glanced at it nervously, half expecting it to be Wendy miraculously knowing the hell had happened. Instead it was Leo.
Leo: I thought you said you had the day off today? Court ended early and you're not here 🥺
Jonah breathed out, ignoring the prickles of anxiety running up his arm and typed back "I'm at the hospital. Vin got in a car accident."
He saw Leo type and retype, the little bubble appearing and disappearing multiple times, before the screen suddenly changed into the call mode.
"Hey-"
"What happened? How is he!?" Leo's voice was up a whole note, "how did you-"
"He called me, I think two hours ago? He seemed a little in shock, but overall very aware. Sent me his location and everything," Jonah answered, sliding down the seat and staring at the ceiling, "I think the rain caused him or someone to lose control, but either way, they hit his bike head on and then ran."
"What the fuck-"
"He's in x-ray right now. For sure at least one rib is broken, maybe his left foot too. Something is up with his shoulder, I couldn't quite see... Oh yeah and there's this big fucking wound on his side. He's gonna get stitched up after the x-ray and MRI."
"MRI?" Leo said and Jonah could hear him moving around, "did he hit his head?"
"He says he didn't, but he flew off his bike, so," Jonah rolled his eyes, "the idiot didn't want to come to the hospital."
"Sounds like Vince alright," Leo let out a weak chuckle, "you're bringing him here, right?"
Jonah hesitated, thinking back on the fact he had told Vince to go fuck himself, "uh-"
"He can't stay alone in the dorms," Leo cut in, "Wendy's out of town and he called you. You're bringing him here, even if you have to drag him."
"Yes, sir," Jonah teased lightly, opening a smile, "...Don't tell Luke? Or Wendy?"
"I don't talk with Wendy," Leo pointed out with a huff, "...Do you need anything? A coat? Food?"
"What...?" Jonah frowned, "no, you don't have to come over. We're fine, he'll probably be out in an hour or two, unless they want him to spend the night in case of a concussion."
"Vince would rather die," Leo pointed out with a little snicker, "... Are you okay? You sound shaken up."
"I'm fine..." Jonah mumbled, "just worried."
"Aw, he cares," Leo teased lightly, "I won't tell anyone, I promise."
Jon let out a smile, but Leo's teasing had only made him feel worse. He nodded, before remembering his boyfriend couldn't see him, "yeah, of course he will," he agreed, "I gotta go. I'll text you later. Love you."
"Love-" Jonah hung up before he heard the end of it, getting up from his seat and walking to the folding doors that lead to the closed part of the hospital, pacing around it anxiously.
It was another hour and a half before a girl he knew from class stepped out, "Vicent- Monacelli...?"
"Vicenzo," Jonah corrected, stepping forward, "hi Claire."
"Oh, hi Jonah," she smiled, "you're the one who brought him in?"
"Yeah... How is he?" he couldn't be bothered to hide the nervousness. He hadn't mentioned to Leo the coughing up blood, but that had been driving him insane with worry.
"He's fine," Claire tapped her clipboard with a pen, "giving the nurses a run for their money, he keeps trying to leave. Let's talk inside."
Vince hadn't been transferred to a private room, which Jonah counted as a sign he wouldn't need to stay the night. He was leaning back on a long armchair, with an IV connected to his arm, an angry frown on his face. His foot had been put in a boot cast, his shirt removed and his arm was now resting on a sling. A long bandage on his side, covered also by the bandages wrapping around his torso. A million butterfly bandages were scattered all over him.
"I thought you had left," Vince piped up, opening a lopsided smile, "can you tell the nice doctor I can go home?"
"No," Jonah rolled his eyes, looking at Claire, "doctor?"
"Alright, so let's start from the least worrying. You have a dislocated shoulder-"
"It happens all the time," Vince interjected, to which the doctor and Jonah ignored him.
"we've put it back in place and you're supposed to wear the sling and avoid moving your shoulder as much as possible for the next six weeks."
"That's crazy, six weeks?! Classes will start back up, it's my final season-"
"What else?" Jon pinched his nose bridge.
"Left foot is just twisted, but twisted badly. Three weeks of boot," she glared at Vince pointedly, "otherwise you will break it, then it'll be much longer. And you won't play your precious football game."
"It's a twisted ankle, please," Vince scoffed, "I've sported worse injuries during a game-"
"What about his ribs?" Jonah squeezed Vince's bicep to shut him up. Claire crisped her lips in annoyance and Jon almost laughed. Clearly Vince was not growing on the hospital staff.
"One broken rib, one cracked. Four weeks of bed rest and four more of little to no movement," she sighed, "I'm serious, Mr. Monacelli, if you don't rest, you'll end up breaking the one that is cracked and that one has a very bad angle to your lungs. Don't try your luck."
Vince grumbled something in italian, but nodded, wincing as he shifted on his seat, "she says I don't have a concussion, by the way."
Jonah scoffed, then looked at the blonde doctor before him, "really?"
"We ran all the scans, Jon, he's fine," Claire nodded and Jonah almost laughed as he could see she was holding back a mean comment, "Our best guess is the vomiting was due to the pain and shock."
"And the coughing up blood? His lungs are alright?"
"Yes. The blood was actually from a tear inside his mouth, he probably bit down when he hit the ground and the stomach acid irritated the wound," she opened a small smile, "as long as you rest and take the medication correctly, you should be fine, Mr. Monacelli."
"Alright," Vince nodded, then grabbed the IV pole to hoist himself up, "so I can go home?"
Claire mulled over the answer, looking conflicted. Jonah knew that technically, with those injuries, they couldn't hold him overnight, no matter how much it looked like Vince was just gonna ignore all doctor orders.
"He's coming with me," Jonah piped up, "I'll make sure he rests."
"The hell I am!" Vince whined, "I have my own dorm-"
"You're coming with me whether you want it or not," Jonah glared at him, "or you can stay the night here."
"They can't hold me here," Vince scoffed, then frowned and looked at the doctor, "you can't, right?"
Jonah grimaced and Claire clearly understood, because she shrugged, "if we think you're a danger to yourself, we can," she lied.
Vince's face fell and he sighed, sitting back down, "fine," he said, as if he had any choice on the matter. Jonah let out a relieved sigh.
Signing Vince out was easy enough, at least when compared to once again getting him to hop back to the car, since he vehemently refused using a wheelchair, much to everyone's displeasure.
"I don't think you realize you're a giant," Jonah panted as he pushed the passenger seat as far back as his sport car allowed and gave up on using the seatbelt.
"Uhm..." Vince let out a defeated sigh, leaning back against the leather seat, "I'm useless."
"You're hurt," Jonah reminded him with an eyeroll, "look... I- I'm sorry I yelled at you-"
"No," Vince sighed, "no, you were right... I was a jerk. Can we just go? Everything hurts."
"Your drugged, Vin," Jonah snorted, circling the car to get in the driver's side, "I doubt you can feel your face right now."
"I can and it hurts," Vince groaned, then closed his eyes as the movement started back up, "are you sure you don't mind me being at your place...? I can call-"
"If you say Lucas I'll leave you on the side of the road," Jonah slapped his friend's thigh, causing Vince to jerk and let out a whine.
"Fine, whatever," Vince smiled, eyes still closed, "...Told you I didn't have a concussion."
