Thinking about Thaniel and Halsin reuniting again when he wakes.
Thinking about how Halsin describes Thaniel as having been ripped away from him (just as he was from Oliver). How he was the only one able to see and interact with him; how Halsin is very insistent that Thaniel made him who he became. How Halsin's "very first friend" being an encapsulation of nature itself affected the entire trajectory of his life. How that implies, to me, that Halsin and Thaniel were connected on a level far stronger and more significant than just being unlikely playmates as children - even moreso than just Halsin deciding to become his protector as he aged, or the implication of the relationship becoming more along the lines of a parent and child - to the point of being so interconnected and intertwined, Thaniel evidently uprooted and followed Halsin from the High Forest to its own unpredicted detriment.
Thaniel's being cursed and trapped quite literally *did* rip the two of them away from one another, just as tearing Thaniel's being in two twisted and created Oliver. Halsin feels a hole in his absence - a loneliness and disconnect that eats away at him. He describes losing contact with Thaniel all that time ago as being "worst of all", which is saying a lot considering what else was happening to and around Halsin at the time. And all Thaniel talked about whilst trapped was Halsin, insisting to find him because he was the only one who an entire force of nature itself believed could help it.
Losing Thaniel sent Halsin into a century long spiral; Halsin who blames himself for "dawdling" in his own pain as it suffered. Who could almost place himself in the catalyst of Ketheric Thorm's tragedy of losing his daughter pushing him to the edge. It's the elevated metaphorical adult fear of losing a child and the indescribable sorrow involved in that, mixed with the loss of an important childhood and formative influence, mixed with losing a friend, a piece of oneself, all in one.
I just imagine Halsin twitching in his skin to head immediately back to camp after convincing Oliver to return. Distractedly following behind, but evidently elsewhere, until he is dismissed or the group returns. And he is first to arrive and first to break off to his tent, pulling aside the cloth, lacking any considerable delicacy of action, to see Thaniel sitting up, blinking slowly at his surroundings. Alive; the smell of lavender heavy and sweet. Not dead and rotting, not twisted and empty. Small. Frail. Not quite whole. But alive.
And Halsin...hesitates on the threshold, hands shaking, everything having come to its head at last and he doesn't know what to do with himself. He holds his breath, fearful of any disturbance spooking the life away that they'd worked so hard to revive, until Thaniel turns its eye slowly towards him. Two deer caught in a crosspath of light. A century past and there are hundreds of things to do, hundreds of things he had planned to say to him if they succeeded, but all Halsin can manage is a strained: "It's me."
And he does not need to say who he is; Thaniel knows. All those rehearsed things fizzle away in its face. Halsin is older now, he reasons, much older; perhaps Thaniel will not recognize the century carved upon his brow just as Oliver had not. In a moment of desperation, he needs it to know him. Needs Thaniel to remember - but, fool that he is to underestimate the power of life before him, of course he remembers. Of course Thaniel would recognize him, just as he had recognized him after the long winter had passed - when he had changed so much, and was no longer a little elfling and never would be again. Just as Thaniel had recognized him every springtime after, the thawing of ice bringing another year with it, even as its face did not change at all. It must; his eyes betrayed the centuries beneath his boots, even as the child rubbed fitfully at them.
"It's me," Halsin murmurs again, falling to his knees - as if he could make himself impossibly smaller - bring him back to the beginning, turn back the years before it all went wrong. And Thaniel just nods its head and touches little hands to his face, and when he echos his name, it feels like that first thaw of spring again.
"I heard you calling," it whispers, gentle like summer breezes. "You cried for me to stop hiding. You were frightened and did not wish to play anymore. But when I came out, it had gotten dark. I could not find you."
"I know."
"I called back," he continues, even and intoned, but his lip wobbles. "You could not hear me.
"I know," Halsin repeats, brokenly.
Thaniel blinks a few more times, seemingly working out how to reteach a face long asleep, though there were no muscles to move. A false start later, a twitch of the nose, and he is...smiling. "But I kept trying - I knew you would find me."
A single stick too heavy and the dam breaks. Eyes filled with tears, he hugs Thaniel to him like he hadn't since they were children chasing each other through the underbrush with glitters of gold tangled in his hair. Since Thaniel had guided his hand to make the flowers in his father's garden grow. Since all they'd had was each other under the endless canopy of trees.
"Forgive me," Halsin whispers, a century of pain and loss and loneliness exiting from him in a single rush, the cold empty spaces inside him filling up with warmth. And at last he wakes, dragged violently into the open air after drowning for too long, blinded but alive and whole once again. Interconnected; not alone anymore. The earth sings beneath him and Oliver's spirit hovers just beyond the outskirts of his vision. Halsin chokes on his laugh. "I was never very good at this game."

Teasing game (Zevlor x Tav)
The game you were playing started a few weeks ago. The fighting was over and your friends and you met regularly for drinks or catching up on life, your life finally felt normal again.
Shadowheart and Halsin were the first to notice you being hopelessly in love with Zevlor.
One night when you were drinking with your friends Shadowheart was trying to push you to confess. You told her how unsure you were to do so as you thought you were already pretty obvious with your feelings towards him, so that to you it just seemed like he was uninterested in you. He would've noticed, right?
Soon enough Astarion noticed about your feelings too and came up with an idea that you knew wasn't a good one, but you couldn't say you didn't like it.
He suggested you teased him until he finally snaps. Of course you didn't want to play with him, but it wasn't like you didn't like him.. so was it really playing with him or just testing his patience? You agreed and the teasing game started.
At first you were really shy about it. You tried to be in his company more often, joining him when he went to buy something or just left from meeting your friends at the same time as him so you could walk with him.
But you noticed it didn't change anything, he was polite and slightly distanced as usual.
Seems like you had to get a little more brave.
You were at the Elfsong tavern with your friends as you did at least once a week. Most of them were aware of the game you planned, so they left the spot next to you empty so Zevlor had no choice but to sit there.
You waited a little before starting your teasing as you were still trying to be subtle about it, but a drink or two made you slightly more bold.
Halsin and you were in a conversation catching up about Thaniel and the former shadow cursed lands.
You moved your leg so it was touching Zevlors leg next to you. He was sitting between Halsin and you so you had an excuse to lean closer to him.
When you notices his gaze on you, you turned to look up at him only to find him looking away quickly.
When Halsin got into conversation with someone else you turned to Zevlor. He noticed you staring at him and looked at you.
"May I ask you something?", you said.
"Of course, anything."
You were leaned forward and you did choose a more revealing outfit as usual with your shirt hanging lower, showing off some of your skin below your collarbones.
"How does it feel like having horns? It's probably a weird question.. but do you still feel the weight of them? Is there any feel to them or is it kind of numb like fingernails are?"
You were seriously curious, but it's not like you could've just asked Karlach.
"Oh.", he was obviously not expecting that kind of question. "I don't feel the weight of them anymore, I think I am just too used to it? And they are rather numb but not completely.. How do I describe it?", he was thinking about it for a few seconds while you reached up and touched his horns.
His eyes went wide and you pulled back your hand.
"Sorry, I didn't want to overstep-", you said quickly.
"No, it's fine. It's not uncomfortable, just.. I'm not used to anyone willingly touching my horns." He was looking anywhere but at you, was he flustered?
"You can't tell me no one has been curious about them before."
"That's not it, but tieflings aren't really welcome anywhere and as curious people may be, they are just as scared."
"So you don't mind me touching them?"
He chuckled.
"I don't mind."
You instantly reached up to his horns again and touched them gently. Fingers slowly caressing the rough texture of them.
His gaze was on you the whole time. He looked at you, how you stared at his horns, watching your curious expression and taking in every detail of your face. It wasn't just the wine's fault how warm he felt and he was painfully aware of it. He noticed how your knee still touched his leg and how close you were to him and honestly, he liked it.
His eyes wandered to your lips, your neck, he noticed how you had dressed differently today.
When your hand pulled back he looked back to you, locking eyes with you. Of course you would notice him staring. He blamed himself for letting his eyes wander on your body thinking you wouldn't notice when he would let his self control slip for a moment.
He won't let that happen again.
Or will he?

"The magic is delicate." Halsin had warned - the words now rang in your mind like a knell. "I will need your help if I am to survive- the portal will sap my strength." You had vowed to aid him - to defend the portal that Silvanus had helped him to create. And you had tried. You'd thrown almost every spell that you knew into the shrouded, cursed dark that surrounded your party and the portal, done near everything you could think of to keep the danger at bay. But, somehow, it wasn't enough. Something had gotten through your defenses, though you could barely recall what exactly it was. An arrow? A crow, touched and warped by shadow? The more you dwelled upon the thought, the more your chest began to tighten. What did it matter, what it was that ruptured the portal and caused it's premature collapse? No matter the form of the assailant, it did nothing to change the chain of events that had since then transpired. A gentle voice breaks you from your spiralling thoughts; "At least he is with Lady Shar, if nothing else..." You feel your face contort into a scowl at Shadowheart's words - Halsin was not a worshipper of Shar, why would he be happy that he is with the lady of sorrow? If anything, you thought, it would enrage him that the one who's shadows had laid claim to him, was the one he would be 'with'. But you say nothing to Shadowheart, you know for a fact that the only things that would pass your lips would be words of venomous spite. Not that you didn't like Shadowheart - you were actually quite fond of her, she usually would say things how they were, without sugar-coating them. But in this instance, using the name of Lady Shar to try and bring you some false comfort only made you feel worse.
The trek back to camp was coated in a stony silence. The rest of the party were waiting for you to say something, some words of wisdom or hope, but you said nothing. You did not wish to speak. All you wanted to do was ignore the grief that had settled into your heart. To shove it down, and ignore it. But you couldn't. You and Halsin had become close after you and your rag-tag team of friends had saved the Emerald Grove from the goblins. He had given you advice on how to get to Moonrise Towers, and had offered his aid on the journey. Of course, you had said yes - initially because you knew you'd need all the help that you could get, but as time wore on, and you spent night after night talking with him, you couldn't deny the fact that it was starting to feel like something more was blooming between the pair of you - and Halsin refused to deny it either. Though nothing between you and the druid had been made official to the others, he had told you time and time again; 'When I have righted what has been wronged, and the Shadow curse lifted... Then, we can focus on one another, my heart.' You had thought about those words often - they had spurred you on when you had first entered the shadow cursed lands, knowing that this, this was the place where you could finally end Halsin's century of distress, and fretting.
And yet it had all gone wrong in an instant.
The silence had followed your group into camp, and settled itself amongst you all as if it were a friend, and not some unwanted and unwelcome state. Even Astarion had stopped his quipping and teasing upon seeing your dour expression. He had never seen you in such a state - not even when he had accidentally woken you when he had gone to feed on you one night, almost three months ago at this point. That night you had been mildly disgusted initially, but you were definitely willing to let him feed from you if it was going to help his prowess in battle. You had been optimistic, in truth, despite the dangers. That was something about you that was always apparent, and always had been. Though some of your travelling companions had thought you... Not all there, at first, you had managed to prove quite a few times that you were persistent enough to almost always pull through.
You had made a direct line for your tent, ignoring the attempts of Karlach to approach you, and hopefully comfort you a little bit. The fabric flaps drew together behind you as you retired to your one place of isolation. The tiefling was confused, and a mite hurt, at the fact that you had just completely blanked her. You had never done that before - the worst you had ever done was tell her to stay in camp for a while, and more often than not, you had good reason to do so. Her gaze fell upon Wyll and Shadowheart, two of the companions who had set off with you that morning, before she began to march over, determined to know who or what caused you to become so withdrawn. "What the hells happened out there?!" Karlach could hardly contain the irritation that bubbled in her chest, spilling into her voice. Wyll was the first to speak, his face a mask of self-reproach. "Halsin was trying to retrieve Thaniel - the spirit of these lands..." He began to explain, glancing briefly to Shadowheart, who's lips were fixed in a clear frown. "Right..." Karlach said slowly, "... I'm assuming something went wrong, by the look on everyone's faces..." "... We weren't able to defend the portal he had entered entirely... It collapsed, and... He's gone." Karlach's face fell as it all clicked into place in her mind. That's why you were acting so strange. "... Oh." Was all she could manage. She couldn't even muster up any rage at the circumstance, she was just stunned. She hadn't had a chance to get really close to Halsin, but he was a nice guy, there was no denying it. He had been courteous to all of them - a kind hearted soul, who always lent an ear to anyone who needed it. To Karlach, he had been a good laugh. Most evenings, on the short walk back to their tents, she and him would share a good few jokes with one another before retiring to rest. The loss of the druid would weigh heavily on her, though not as heavily as it would do you. Wyll cleared his throat, glancing towards your tent. "I think I may try and speak with them..." Shadowheart scoffed at this, causing Wyll's head to turn. "Good luck," Were the only words that the half-elf offered him, her voice dripping with sarcasm, before she turned away, marching herself right back to her tent to isolate herself for a while. Karlach followed suit, with nothing of meaning left to say. She meandered back to her own tent, seeking to settle herself down in the mountain of various pillows she had stored in there, to have a good cry.
Wyll did not return to his tent, however. Like he had said, he was going to try and talk with you. Try being the operative word. There had been a handful of times that you hadn't exactly been open to talking with anyone, and Wyll fully expected to be one of those times. He tried to peer through the tiny gap left between the flaps that marked the entrance to your tent, but to no avail. He cleared his throat quietly to announce his presence - but there was no answer from him. He carefully parted the fabric before him, crouching down a bit to get closer to you. Your tent was the smallest out of the whole group's, purely for the reason that, before the adventure began, you didn't have a lot to bring with you. Even now, with so much more to your name, you are more likely to leave some of your belongings with your fellow party members. "Go away." Your voice was low, not quite a threat, but close. "I don't want to talk to anyone, about anything. Leave me be." "You know," Wyll began to speak, completely ignoring your request, "I don't think Halsin would want you to spend any time moping after him..." You started to push yourself up into a seated position. Even in the dark, Wyll could imagine the look on your face; a deep set scowl, eyes narrowed and glaring daggers at the perpetrator who dared disturbed your 'peace'. In this case, of course, that was him. "You have no right to-" "Yes, I do." Wyll's voice was calm, despite your ire. "I'm your friend - one of your closest by your own admission, if I remember rightly..." He said as he crawled into the tent to join you - in the hopes of making you feel a little bit less alone. "I know you and Halsin were close..." Close wasn't exactly the word that the warlock had in mind, but he didn't want to rub salt in the wound. You had lost a man that you loved, and Wyll knew that grief wasn't an easy thing to deal with. "But, we did what we could - defended him and that portal as much as we were able to... He didn't ask for anything more..." "But he did - he asked us for his help to heal the-" "I know... But that was before we got overwhelmed by shadow-cursed harpers, and Gods know what else..." Wyll interrupted. "We did what we could, and he'd be happy with that... Even if we didn't manage to heal the curse..." His voice was tinged with a hint of sadness, despite trying to ease your pain. "He wouldn't want you to sit here, isolating yourself as punishment... But I understand you need time to mourn.. So, how about, tomorrow morning, you and I go for a walk around the outskirts of camp? We can talk all things Halsin.." You consider it for a moment, before nodding quietly. "Good.." Wyll smiled in response to your acceptance - there were times when you could be extraordinarily stubborn. He'd seen it himself at various points on your adventure together, and he was quite glad that he didn't have to be on the receiving end of it. "I'll bring your dinner to you, if you'd prefer not to join the rest of us..." You nod again, and Wyll begins to shuffle out of your tent, leaving you be for the evening.
You didn't join the others for food that evening - not that there was much to join. The group sat mostly in silence as they ate, all starting to feel the absence of their druidic friend. Lae'zel did try to make conversation, having found that her ideals didn't exactly align with Halsin's, she didn't get as close to him as some of the other had done in the same time. However, no one could find it in them to respond, besides Astarion, who snapped at her to stop talking for a moment. Even he was feeling down about the loss of Halsin - even if he had only grown 'fond' of the wood elf because he found him amusing. But the time night had fallen - or at least, what the group had all assumed to be night, as both night and day looked eerily the same under the shadowcurse - everyone had returned to their tents to rest.
The night - like so many before that you had all spent in the shadow-cursed lands - was cold, and very very quiet. The dead branches of various trees clashing against one another were the only sounds to be heard. No birdsong could be heard for miles. That was unless you counted the raspy sounds from the undead birds that sometimes came close to camp. They'd scurry away before they got too close, though. But there was something, off in the distance, that was slowly making it's way closer and closer to camp. Of course, no one was really aware of it until it was right on your doorstep. You had initially thought that the heavy footfall approaching your tent in the middle of your rest was Karlach - she'd often come over to you after a long, hard day. "Karlach," You spoke, your voice slightly muffled against the rough material of your makeshift pillow. "Now really isn't a good time.. Go back to your own tent." You expected to hear the footsteps retreating after this. Karlach was never one to try and encroach your personal space, especially after such a blunt request. However, this wasn't the case with this now unknown intruder. Something twigged in your mind that this might not be someone who meant well. Either that, or Karlach really wanted to have some company. You started to push yourself up onto your elbows, and when your eyes finally managed to focus on the figure slowly starting to crawl it's way into your tent, you could have sworn you heart stopped.
Halsin.
Immediately you were alert - were you still dreaming? No, you couldn't be, it didn't feel... Fuzzy enough, to be a dream. But it never feels like a dream when you're in the middle of it. You hurriedly push yourself into a more upright position, trying to kick the raggedy blankets off of your legs for more freedom of movement. "Halsin-" Your voice caught in your throat, leaving it as little more than a mousey squeak. Your chest felt tight, heavy. For a brief moment, there was a flicker of hope - he was alive! But as your eyes began to focus on the massive form of your once lover, you began to notice that some things were amiss. There were clusters and clumps of some dark mass, something not quite natural. Some of the clumps glowed and flickered with an eerie and dim bluish light, casting a foreboding shadow over your beloved's stoic - and entirely too-still - features. You recognised those growths - the telltale calling card of the shadows when they had wrenched their claws so deep into a living thing that nothing but a husk remained. You had seen it earlier that day; the hundreds of undead harpers, githyanki, dogs and birds that had assaulted you, your party, and the portal that had undone everything for you. The last stage before the host of the growths was devoured, and became nothing more than a shadow doomed to roam the desolated town, caught entirely in their own pain and grief. Though, the thought of that final form was pushed to the very back of your mind just at the moment it had popped in. Surely, though, if Halsin had managed to find your camp, there must be something of him left in there? As soon as the thought crosses your mind, you've moved to rest on your knees, bringing your face closer to his. "Halsin, you're alright..." There's something screaming at you in the back of your mind, telling you that this isn't right, that something is dreadfully, dreadfully wrong, but you elect to ignore it. For once, you just wanted to try and focus on the positive side. "You..." You couldn't quite place what it was about Halsin's voice that felt off to you - was it too deep? Too scratchy? Who cares, he's here, he's home. You didn't have to bear with that godsawful weight in your chest anymore, you could just move on, and think of this whole affair as nothing more than a blip on your adventure. You open your mouth to speak, but Halsin beats you to it. "Failed." His voice was so low it almost sounded like the chords in his throat were rupturing as the words left his lips - or perhaps they already had. It hits you like a stone to the head, and you freeze in place, paralysed by the realisation you should have had much earlier. This was not a dream, and Halsin was in front of you, but, he had been corrupted. Whatever drive he had to get back to you - whether it had originally been love, lust or something else - had now been twisted into something sick, something that longed to make you suffer as it was.
Before you could even open your mouth to respond, a thick hand was wrapping around your throat - squeezing, constricting, cutting off your air and your ability to cry out for help. Your hands dart to his wrist to try and alleviate some of the pressure, but you know that there's almost no point. With Halsin's great size, came great strength - you wouldn't be able to easily escape from this, he had the upper hand. You try anyway, clawing at his hand and forearm like a wild animal, trying to break skin and hurt him enough to have him flinch away from you. But that moment never comes. In fact, you could swear that he's applying more pressure to your throat. "Don't. Struggle." The grating voice of Halsin growls at you. You try to tell yourself that it's not him, but of course... the face looming above you would convince yourself otherwise. With the corners of your vision starting to blur and fade, you grow desperate. You begin to thrash and kick at him - and you manage to land a few good blows to the undead elf's ribs and stomach, not that it made much difference to the beast of a druid. You think at one point one of your feet dislodges a pole keeping your tent upright. At least, that seems to be the reasonable explanation for the structure collapsing on the both of you, obscuring your view even more. Your kicks start to weaken as Halsin applies even more pressure to your windpipe, obviously intent on robbing you entirely of your ability to breathe. You stop moving - in part to try and conserve what little oxygen you have left, but also because... What's the point in struggling against Halsin? Not only was he much stronger than you, but he was also... Right. You had failed him, despite the fact that you had tried your damndest to complete the task he had set you. Though it broke your hear to admit it to yourself, there was little you could do to deny it, even with the discussion you had had with Wyll earlier that night.
You had just about given in to the inevitable fate set before you, when the weight pressing down on your neck was just... Gone. You immediately sat up, spluttering as air finally reached your lungs, making you feel light-headed, but promising your survival. "Get the fuck away from them!" Karlach's roar was unmistakable as your scurried to pull the fabric of your tent off of your head to see what was going on; Karlach, greatsword in hand, was moving to swing at the corrupted Halsin - whilst Lae'zel, a determined look on her face, was mere moments away from doing the same, marching over from her own tent to join the fray. Gale was by your side in an instant, grabbing your hand and pulling you to your feet. "Come, quickly," He ushered you over to his tent as he spoke. "Inside, Shadowheart will check you over in a moment," His gaze turned back to Karlach, Lae'zel and Halsin for a moment, watching as the Tiefling and Githyanki lay blow after blow into the flesh of the thing that had tried to kill you. They were only just able to keep him on his knees, and it looked like his skin was shredding where he had been hit. His only sounds acknowledging that he was being attacked were grunts of effort as he tried to through off their hits and get back to his feet - which did not work. He wasn't even bleeding; a greenish-blue liquid dripped languidly from his newly-formed wounds.
"Stop looking, you don't need to see this." Gale told you firmly, taking your shoulder and guiding you more forcibly into the tent. "That's not him, anymore... You know that, yes?" He tries to soothe you. "That wasn't Halsin - just an... Echo of him, if that." Despite his kind words, tears begin to streak down your cheeks. You feel Gale's arms wrap around you, and your legs give out for a moment. You can't do this. It's too much. How is one person meant to handle all of this - the mindflayer tadpoles, the fate and wellbeing of their companions, helping as many people as they can on the way through the environs they must travel - and still walk tall? It is too much of a weight, a burden you can no longer carry. This overwhelming grief is just the straw that breaks the Rothe's back. You don't remember much of what happens after that - besides the sobs that start to wrack your body, making you heave with each breath. Gale lowers you to the floor, and you can vaguely hear him saying something to you, though you can't quite make out the words. You don't try to figure out what they are, though. You just want this to stop - for the emotions that feel too big for your body to just cease, and leave you in peace.
Your companions come and go throughout the night, each taking a turn to sit with you, to try and soothe your sorrows. Nothing really works. After many hours - though it feels like days to you - the tears finally stop falling. You're exhausted, and can't bring yourself to move off of Gale's bedroll; and no one dares to try anyway. It's Wyll who's with you as you finally drift off into an exhausted sleep. He doesn't move to tell the others, though, in case you should wake and need his company. A frown is etched into his features as he watches you - he knows all too well how much this grief can tear someone apart from the inside. He makes sure that you've got a blanket over your shoulders to keep you warm. "Don't you worry... You'll still have us," He whispers, not even caring if you can't hear him. "No matter what, we'll stick by you... And we'll get you through this. For Halsin's sake, not just for yours..."
The druid would have wanted that much for his lover, at least.

Some thoughts.
Okay, Halsin, what the hell?
Tumblr media
When I was playing Gale origin, I didn't know what lines to choose so I pushed any friendly dialogue button I saw so it felt okay when Halsin offered me to be his lover. Everything I had to do was to refuse his offer. This time (playing Astarion origin) I was extremely careful and didn't choose a single line that could trigger such a dialogur, even friendship ones. I did not ask him about his past (lovers) or whether he has potential partners, I only talked about helping to save Thaniel, but Halsin still offers me a polyamorous relationship and sex! Hinting that he went to Baldur's Gate with us because of... us, right after a fight with Ketheric. With Gale it felt normal because, again, I didn't know what lines to pick. But with Astarion it feels at least strange.
I mean, why? I didn't cross the line when talking to him this time. When I played Gale origin, I wasn't sure what lines would trigger his proposal, but now I've carefully avoided anything undesirable and yet he still offers me sex! God, I do love this bear, he is the walking embodiment of everything I could love in a man, both his appearance and personality is a masterpiece, except for polyamory, because it is not my cup of tea, not in this case at least, but now it is his behavior that makes me feel disapointed in him. And what infuriates me most is the confidence with which he says I also feel attracted to him, although - again! - I carefully avoided any potentially dangerous lines that could trigger his confession. What's going on with this character? So to be just friendly with him is enough to get these scenes?
Since my Astarion is in a relationship with Gale, I decided to look at his (Gale's ) reaction if he was offered such an open relationship. I decided to try different lines and it really made me smile that Gale’s first thought about adding a third person to the relationship was a child.

Also, as I thought, Gale is monogamous in a relationship and is not ready to share. I like that he speaks openly about it and to some extent even with anger that he does not agree to this, in fact, that’s why I like him.
And it was really painful to choose a line about breaking up, even if it was just to see his reaction. I never want to see that pain on his face again. This only lasts a few moments, but his disappointment in love, in the very concept of relationships, is very palpable.
I think that after such a “betrayal” he wouldn't soon decide to open his heart to someone or would not dare at all. I think that's why I like him so much. And that's why I like their relationship with Astarion. Gale is ready to give his all for someone he loves, and Astarion (at least this is very much in his character after so many years of hardship and suffering) will tightly hold on to what he considers his.
Of course, Gale can be persuaded to have sex with the drow twins (I checked this too), but I consider this a flaw on the part of the developers. You may not agree with me, but I think it isn't in his character.
Because a person who so vehemently argued that two lovers should be dedicated only to each other would hardly agree to such a thing. Same story with Astarion. People say he agrees to have sex with the twins once he's completely free of Cazador, but the narrator's words make it abundantly clear that he's still not into it: "his mind is miles away."
And the fact that Gale has to be persuaded… his first reactions tell a lot. This is clearly not in his character too. I would never believe that a person who kicks the cat out of the bedroom while changing clothes would easily agree to such a thing.
Most likely, the opportunity to persuade him to do something like this is necessary for the variability of the game, no more. In addition, Gale leaves his copy in a room that just watches this makingout, he takes no part in it. People might assume, of course, that he shouldn't/cannot have sex because of the orb, but there was nothing stopping him from sleeping with Astarion before they reached Baldur's Gate. However, it seems strange to me that after this he does not break up with Astarion/Tav/whoever or at least discusses the thing. It’s probably still a flaw on the part of the developers, because Gale doesn’t react to the situation at all. And this despite the fact that he only recently screamed about how he categorically does not accept such things.
Therefore, I believe that in order not to mislead people, the developers need to stick to the character's personality as they were intended. If a character is meant to be monogamous, then why do they need lines that suit polyamorous characters only? I understand that the game is variable, but this is not about the plot, but about the characters, whose personality has already been developed and established.
Just saying.

For my lovely mutual @autistichalsin who constantly give me ideas. I present omega!Halsin and alpha!Tav.
Warnings: trans halsin and tav, piv sex, a little bit of degrading if you squint, knots, and general omegaverse things.
Halsin was big for an omega, there was no doubt about it. But to his kids, that just meant more space too cuddle. Thaniel and Oliver loved their dad more that the forest, which was a lot considering they are the forest. But after centuries of not having a heat, Halsin had gotten used to it. Until one day after tucking in Thaniel and Oliver for their afternoon nap, sometime hit him like a sack of brick. He felt hot and cold at the same time, he felt like he couldn't breath, he needed his alpha. Tav had been Halsin's alpha after there years of heroing ended, and right now he needed her, immediately. He ran around the house trying to find her, only to find her in the bedroom reading one of Gale's magic books. She could smell his heat the second he walked in. He smelled of a campfire and cinnamon.
'Alpha...' He whimpered.
'Darlin...' she drawled out, he cock already getting hard just from hearing him whimper.
'Help, please...'he sounded so desperate. She needed to help him, that was her job.
'Come here." She commanded and he immediately sat on the bed, hands on his knees like he always did. He was such a good boy for her. 'Does my omega need some help?" She almost taunted. She knew what he needed.
'Please. Feel like I can't breath. Need you...' He said breathy.
'Where do you need me love?" She asked.
'Inside me... please." He all but begged.
Tav knew she could've had the go on forever but she was so hard it was painful. She touched his face gently before leaning him down onto the bed. She pulled his clothes off being careful not to let her strength get the better of her, but the second she smelled his arousal, she let all caution fly to the wind. She frantically threw her clothes off and stroked her dick before leading the tip into his pussy. She could feel her knot already inflating as she pushed into him. His whines got louder before she covered his mouth. 'Keep quiet or you'll wake up the boys.' She growls. He nods his head quickly before bitting her finger, his small fangs almost drawing blood. 'Good boy.' She praised, causing him to whimper quietly. She slowly started pumping her cock inside him, trying to set a nice pace but he was so wet after 200 years of never having a heat that she couldn't help but slam into him.
Over and over until the bed was shaking, she thrusted faster and faster, her knot was almost ready and Halsin could feel it. "Alpha...please...' he whined.
'What? You want my knot, want me to breed you baby?' She asked harshly.
'Please, breed me. Please give me your pups. Please please.' He choked out, almost sobbing at the pleasure.
'Since you asked so nicely.' She smiled before kissing him roughly and shoving her knot inside him, locking their cum inside. They stayed that way for a while before her knot deflated and Halsin's mind was clear of the heat fog for the time being.
Tav slowly pulled out and went to the connected bathroom to get a washcloth. She wet it with warm soapy water and brought it back to Halsin who had already curled up under the fur skin blanket. 'Halsin, love, let me clean you up ok?' She said before pulling back the blanket, causing him to shiver from the sudden cold. She cleaned his upper thighs and the surrounding area making sure he wouldn't get sticky as the cum that had managed to leak out dried.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and the two small boys walked in. 'What was that noise we heard?' Thaniel asked. Tav and Halsin looked at each other and chuckled before telling the boys that some things had fallen over. Halsin slipped his pants back on before the four of them cuddled into a pile to sleep for a couple of hours.

Fate Spins Along As It Should
Tumblr media
A playlist for Baldur's Gate 3, following characters and events for the game.
Notes from the game, cover art from BG3 concept art.
Listen at Spotify.
Even more playlists here.
Tracklist and notes below the cut.
Help I'm Alive - Metric
Narrator: As you wake, the tadpole squirms in your skull.
Army Of Me - Bjork
Lae'zel: Who am I? Your only chance of survival. Now move. You are wasting time.
The Wolf - PHILDEL
Shadowheart: Most people fear the dark, like children, because in darkness they see their fears reflected. But Shar teaches us to step beyond fear. Beyond loss. In darkness we do not hide - we act.
Icarus - Bastille
Gale: "What if," I thought, "What if after all this time, I could return this lost part of herself to the goddess?" You know me. My gestures can never be grand enough.
The Devil Is A Gentleman - Merci Raines
Astarion: On my honour, the only thing on my mind is depraved, carnal lust.
Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) - Emily Browning
Dream Guardian: There is great potential in you. It comes from that parasite. Your instinct is to resist the power it gives, but you must accept it, nurture it. I will keep it from consuming you. But for the sake of both of us, you must learn to wield it.
I Am The Fire - Halestorm
Karlach: Avernus was never my home. It was my prison. I'm free now. AND I'M NEVER. GOING. BACK.
Woke Up A Rebel - Reuben and The Dark
Wyll: Gods damn her straight back to the Hells. Just look at me. I did what was right. And Mizora made me pay for it.
The Curse - Agnes Obel
Halsin: There is a terrible curse surrounding Moonrise Towers, a shadow curse that drains away all light and life. That place is where the cultists send their captives, to be infected. Innocents go in, True Souls come out.
Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Gale: The truth is, I was living on borrowed time already. Consuming those items would only have kept the orb sated for so long. If anything, I feel more at peace than I have in months. At least I know my death will have purpose. It won't be a distant bang in the footnotes of history.
Queer - Garbage
Astarion: He had me go out into Baldur's Gate to fetch him the most beautiful souls I could find. It was a fun little ritual of his - I'd bring them back and he'd ask if I wanted to dine with him. And if I said yes, he'd serve me a dead, putrid rat. Of course if I said no, he'd have me flayed. Hard to say which was worse.
Wrong Side Of Heaven - Five Finger Death Punch
Lae'zel: Vlaakith! I have wielded your fury as a blade, roared your wrath as a dragon! You promised ascension, yet I crawl among my own people, low as an asp's belly. I followed your path. What good, this heart of stone, for it to be shattered?
Bad Moon Rising - Satin Puppets/Nxghtshade
Jaheira: I have every reason to be cautious. I've traced people like you, people with parasites in their brains, all the way here from Baldur's Gate. We tracked them to this ancient village only to be faced with a man we killed and buried over a century ago.
Goodbye - Ramsey
Karlach: Listen. You heard Dammon. There is no solution. It's Hell or bust. I choose bust.
Wicked Game - Boyce Avenue
Astarion: Look. I had a plan. A nice, simple plan. Seduce you, sleep with you, manipulate your feelings so you'd never turn on me. It was easy - instinctive. Habits from two hundred years of charming people kicked in. All you had to do was fall for it. And all I had to do was not fall for you. Which is where my nice, simple plan fell apart.
Losing My Religion - BELLSAINT
Shadowheart: I... I can't believe I just did that. Lady Shar will disown me.
Battlefield - SVRCINA
Dame Aylin: Our Lady of Silver. Hear me! She Who Guides, the Moonmaiden Selune, mother of the so-called Nightsong. THE NIGHTSONG IS NO MORE!
O Death - Bobby Bass/Lauren Paley/Colm R. McGuiness
Ketheric Thorm: Join the army of the dead, True Soul. Witness Lord Myrkul's glory!
In The Wind - Lord Huron
Halsin: Oliver is helping Thaniel to recover. They both lie dormant, like trees awaiting spring. I would like to return here someday - see Thaniel and Oliver again, in my meditations, or perhaps in person, if the Oak Father wills it. I hope he does.
Flesh And Bone - Black Math
Wyll: He returned to an unsuspecting city and a wayward son with a smirking devil at his side. I tried to tell him the truth, but my mouth couldn't form the words. I led him to the battlefield, but Mizora had swept it clean. I showed him my stone eye, but he only turned away. After, he said only one word. "Go."
Nothing Is As It Seems - Hidden Citizens/Ruelle
The Emperor: Before you do anything, I am your ally.
Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Duke Ravenguard: Enver Gortash. The Council appoints you Archduke of Baldur's Gate.
I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin
Lae'zel: Forsake one protocol and forsake Vlaakith. Forsate Vlaakith, and be the blood and meat which sates her dragons. If Voss speaks true, if ascension is a lie, if tadpole purification is a fairy tale, then I have not sinned against Vlaakith. She has sinned against me.
Broken Mirror - Trees of Eternity
Astarion: Back at the ritual, all I could see was the power on offer and the safety it promised. I was so blinded by it. Just as Cazador was. You saved me from myself and let me walk a new path where I can be free. Truly, honestly free.
Three - Sleeping At Last
Gale: I've work ahead of me before I'll feel myself truly redeemed of the damage I caused. But I intend to try.
Mind Games - Sickick
The Emperor: I studied you. Your motivations, your actions, your desires. I deduced the best way to align your goals with my own. I anticipated the challenge, and I anticipated your resistance. What I didn't anticipate was how much I would enjoy your company. Your mind.
Hamsters - King Missile
Minsc: I have no idea what any of that was about. But we shall simply - GAH! Boo, why do you gnaw at my soft parts? I am trying to... *urgent squeaking* Once again? In smaller words? *SQUEAK!* I see.
Soldier - Fleurie
Jaheira: You twine your life around the people you love. And when they are gone, you grow around their absence instead. Which is my sage way of saying I am in no danger of forgetting how my husband died. But I choose to remember how he lived.
I Come With Knives - IAMX
Orin: Did it think it could protect? Did it think it could save? Only the blades can offer salvation.
Never Look Away - Vienna Teng
Shadowheart: She's as much a part of who I am as Jenevelle. I can't just forget her, that's not what I do anymore. Besides, Shadowheart still suits me - even better than before, perhaps. You can't cast a shadow without some light.
Heroes - Mans Zelmerlow
Wyll: When I left the city, my father saw only a boy carrying the stench of the Hells. Now, he sees the man I made of myself.
Raphael's Final Act - Boris Slavov
Raphael: It is said that hope is a fine breakfast, but a poor supper. Well, the shadows grow long, and the hour is late. It's suppertime.
King Nothing - Metallica
Gortash: I'm not here for games. Hand me the stones, or face the black hand of Lord Bane.
Legends Never Die - Against The Current
Karlach: I'm dying. My heart feels like a live grenade - gonna blow any minute. If this is the end for me, let me be the motherfucker who saved the world.
Seven Devils - Florence + The Machine
Narrator: You feel it - a sudden shift. The brain is weakening, its grasp of self slipping. This is your chance.
First Light - Hozier
Astarion: I can't say what the future holds for us, but I know we'll be facing it together. And we're going to have a lot of fun.

Children
Annie and Halsin have a talk about children and the future. Mostly SFW.
It was a conversation Anais knew she and Halsin needed to have.
Need? Yes.
Will it be as awkward as when I told him my feelings? Almost certainly.
Does my heart feel like it’s going to beat out of my chest and run back to Baldur’s Gate on its own? You’re damn right it is.
Their relationship had continued to progress rather quickly, not that they minded. Anais began spending most nights in Halsin’s tent (reading, sleeping, tons of sex) in addition to bathing together (I can’t wait to get ahold of my shampoo at home and use it on his hair---he’ll smell just like cookies). However, as she was wont to do, she dreamed a future after this adventure was over.
And with whom she wanted to share her life.
When she caught sight of him sitting on a stool and whittling, she could not help but smile. As she approached, she called to him. “Hi, love.”
He looked up and met her smile with his own. “My heart, are you well?”
She pulled a second stool and sat down, giving him a quick kiss. “Of course. I haven’t seen you since breakfast, and we’ve been busy with exploring the rest of town…I missed you.” And I’m freaking out because we need to have a talk. “What’s that going to be?”
“A bear for one of the tiefling children. The lad must’ve seen me in wildshape, because he’s asked me a million questions about bears and occasionally being one.” He chuckled, placing his knife and future bear down. “Such an inquisitive mind! Reminds me of myself as a boy.”
She wrinkled her nose. “Running around asking about bears?” She teased softly.
He wrapped a muscled arm around her broad shoulders, placing a kiss on her cheek. “I wanted to know anything and everything about nature. However, I’ve grown to understand that there are some secrets nature prefers to keep.” And as I found out, nature also needs reminding that Halsin is not, in fact, married to it. “Was there something you need, my heart?”
Play it cool, Annie. This is a very normal conversation to have. She smiled nervously. “Well, it’s funny you mentioned children, because that’s exactly what I want to talk to you about.”
His hazel eyes twinkled as he laughed softly. “Ah yes, I knew this topic would come up eventually. So, my love…what say you?”
“You know I love children. I adore them! I’ve always wanted to be a mum.” She giggled nervously. “That’s pretty much it.” That’s it! Keep it simple, Annie!
“All things I am not at all surprised to learn, dearest one.” He chuckled, giving her another kiss on her cheek before speaking again. “I-I’ve never had the chance to have a family of my own. My responsibilities to nature, the grove, Thaniel, the Shadow Curse…they all took precedence. I had lovers, of course, but precautions were taken. That being said,” squeezing her soft upper arm, he kissed her red hair. “If the Oak Father blesses us with a cub or two, I will welcome them with my whole heart and be further indebted to you---for giving me the greatest gifts nature can bestow.” A wry smile tugged on his lips. “I’ll not lie. I’ve thought about breeding you, my heart.”
I’M SORRY, DID HE JUST SAY WHAT I THINK HE SAID?! “B-breed me?” Anais sputtered, her brown eyes wide. Why does that sound so hot? WHY?!
He laughed heartily. “What’s the matter, Annie? Was that too crass for a woman of the city? I mean what I say, sweetest one. To fill you until bursting with my seed, to see you grow heavy with child and your breasts swell,” Halsin love, you’re going to be the death of me before we even make it to Moonrise Towers. “It stirs my heart and loins, just as you always do.” He sighed and kissed her gently. “As nice as it is to dream of a possible future, let us ensure we have a future first. There’s much still to do.”
Anais quirked an eyebrow. “And blood to be spilt?”
“Ha! Correct as always, my love.”
***
Standing in front of the mirror in her and Halsin’s bedroom, Anais took in her reflection. Won’t be long now…your father’s estimation is any day both of you should be arriving. Our little cubs. She rubbed her belly and smiled. I can’t wait to meet you. We love you so much already. Then she felt a sharp kick to her ribs. Won’t be missing that though. “Oof, be nice to Mummy. We’ll be meeting each other soon enough.”
“Whenever they are ready, they will come, my heart.” Her lover rumbled behind her, her large hands caressing her belly. “It may be today, tomorrow, a tenday from now…who knows? Maybe they still need to grow a little more.” Halsin chuckled, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Oh dear. She laughed nervously. “Really hope not, love. I don’t think there’s any more room.” She focused on her reflection again. “Do you remember what you said to me our first night together?”
He thought for a moment, furrowing his brow. “I said many things, my love. What in particular are you thinking of?”
“Quite literally the most beautiful description of me I’ve ever heard. You said that I’m a ‘harvest and fertility goddess in the flesh.’”
He kissed her cheek. “Ah yes, I do remember saying that. It was true then, and…” His eyes were twinkling, and he tickled her belly a little.
Grinning, she nodded. “Definitely true now.” They stood, smiling and enjoying each other, before Anais spoke. “Gods, I could murder a few scones, an apple, and some of those little sausages Mum brought. And a biscuit.” He said to listen to my body and trust nature, which of course means satisfying every craving. Every. Single. One. “Actually, fuck it---sausage, egg, and cheese on a biscuit with the scones and apple.”
Halsin laughed heartily as he kissed along her jaw. “My heart, you fill my life with such love and laughter. I wouldn’t have been able to dream a life such as ours, but even if I did, it wouldn’t compare to reality.” Blinking tears, he gently turned her to face him with one of his hands tilting her chin up. “You make me happier than I ever thought possible.”
“I love you too, my handsome bear.” Wait, why do my thighs feel really wet? Anais felt a sharp pain in her belly as she glanced down to see a small puddle at her feet. “Erm, love? I think…it might be time.”
With a nod, he moved to stand in front of her, raising a hand. She never got tired of seeing the golden glow of his magic. “Yes, it is time. Let’s get you undressed, and I’ll see how dilated you are, my heart.” As she began to pull off her dress, one of his large, calloused hands reached for her face and stroked her cheek. “I’ll be with you every step of the way, my love. I’ll take care of you and our cubs.”
She leaned into his touch, closing her brown eyes and smiling. “I know, Halsin.” OOF. She opened her eyes as she felt another contraction. “I think we need to get this little show on the road, so to speak. Your cubs are…ow, hey!” Looking down at her belly, she tried to look annoyed. “You’ll be out soon enough, my little loves.”
***
Several hours later, their not at all little cubs were, indeed, out. And out like little lights after such an exciting day. Exciting and very painful but worth it. After Halsin delivered the twins, he cleaned and examined them with midwife Morelle’s assistance (“they’re as healthy as they can be” he said), he helped Anais bathe and got her settled back into bed. Which is where we are now. Time for a little relaxing.
The older twin (by approximately seven minutes) Ciaran was napping against his father’s bare chest. He said it helps with bonding, similar to when I feed them. The younger twin Cormoran (I couldn’t not name one of them after Da) was currently feeding from his mother. They have his ears and my nose. Little wisps of dark red hair. They’re so cute! “You should try to meditate, love. Get some rest.” Anais said as she kissed his cheek.
“I will in a while,” he murmured, never taking his eyes off Ciaran. “Until they both sleep. I’ve sent ravens to your mother and to Nadia and Astarion. Sending spells to the others I can—” He stopped when she kissed his cheek again.
“Rest. Please, love. You act like you did nothing today.”
He laughed softly. “You gave birth, not me, my heart.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Yes, but you delivered them.”
“And you ensured they arrived safely. I’d say we are even then.” He turned his head, and their lips briefly touched in a gentle kiss. Resting his head against hers, he glanced back down at the sleeping infant. “Thank you, Annie. Thank you for them. I never dreamed I would ever have children of my own, and you made it all possible.” Excuse you, I thought I was going to die a spinster because of my mishaps with finding a suitor. Without you, I wouldn’t be as happy with myself as I am today. To love you, to truly love myself for the first time in my life, to loving the life we’ve made together in Moonrise…it’s all because of you.
“Technically,” she giggled. “We both made it possible.”
“You know what I mean, sweet one.” He chuckled. “Without you, none of this would be possible. I love you.” He looked at her once again, tears in his eyes. “Silvanus has blessed us this day, but he truly blessed me with you. I’m forever grateful.”
Anais sniffled as she nodded. “Me too, love. Me too.”

speaking of my totem animal, random bg3 theory/spoilers below but
obviously the dnd world works differently (as well as in irl how different tribes/cultures/individuals are assigned spirit/totem/power animals but.) BUT! just for a thing i felt like it was funsies to theorize what halsin's current (entire bg3 'timeline') 'animals' would be. keep in mind 'animal' doesnt always mean a literal animal. it can potentially be any creature, entity, being, or even concept which varies by the tribe/person/spirituality
either way
his spirit animal is most likely thaniel
i mostly say this because. well, thaniel is a literal spirit but also because halsin seems attached to thaniel in a very long-term way. halsin is a long-living elf, and thaniel is probably one of the only people that halsin can rely on (as well as thaniel rely on him). thaniel also seems to 'guide' halsin towards that caring halsin figure that we see throughout the game (as well as his journey through his long life way before bg3's timeline). also! - i believe thaniel helps halsin with embracing his totem and power animals which ill talk about below
his totem animal is most likely a bear
this one feels self explanatory, he can turn into a bear! but i know some readers may be like 'but syrips, the bear is his fuel and power, shouldnt that be his power animal?' but nay nay. let me explain my theory.. you see reader, yes, the bear is a powerful and motivational thing, but the bear also is his 'structure' for his familial, cultural, and communal life. the bear is the druid leader, the fierce protector, and the intensely loving (for him and those around him). the bear, is his symbol for family and community. and the totem animal is usually affiliated to your tribe, culture, family, or affiliation to nature (as an individual is to their community). the fact he also has a bear scar also kind of makes it feel like his entire 'communal core with nature' (as well as bears seeming to gravitate towards him) is very fitting with a bear. and, was it just a coincidence that he turns into a bear when he wants to love you?
his power animal is most likely a duck
this one might sound funny, and i think that is the point! his bizarre line of 'i like ducks' and him carving a duck and giving it to you feels more than a coincidence. and, a duck is such a strange and bizarre thing for 'big burly halsin,' right? but, exactly. i believe thaniel helped halsin with his inner child/youth/vulnerability, and the duck is a personal representation of something small, resilient, and peaceful. is that not the most halsin-intimate thing that defines halsin as halsin? the power animal isnt always about 'big mighty power'. it means an individual, inner 'animal' that we embrace and can use to reflect our own inner growth, healing, joy, and self-agency. a duck is perfect for this because halsin is a big mighty bear, but his core is the soft, delicate duck. and vulnerability is power.

Halsin x Tav scene - Removal of "Regret" from the glaive 'Sorrow"
So, as I said earlier I have some thoughts about the "Regret" effect on Halsin's glaive. Long story short: I think it would be very interesting to see a scene with this effect being removed because of several reasons:
Death of Isobel Thorm was not Halsin's fault and Isobel forgives him (prior to the scene);
Halsin finds strenght to accept and forgive himself (he is, I think, very stubborn and kind of got used to carry a load of guilt on his shoulders. He might be scared of changes because they may hurt people around, especially people he cares for, so the druid needs a little help);
Halsin can gain an ability to use glaives;
This scene can be a nice base for the start of Halsin x Tav romance.
So, all what you will read below is a FANFICTION scenario, born by my mind. I will use my Tav as base (her name is Noelle, she is Ilmater cleric, neutral good) but I'll use Tav name anyway, only her abilities will be used (because it is obvios to do such things with character you are familiar with). I'll try to add some notes about how I see some dialogues with different classes though but maybe later. Ok, let's go. Again, there might be some mistakes because I am not a native English speaker, so forgive me. And also, since in is a fanfic/scenario-ish thing there might be some OOC.
I also put a screenshot just for the mood. Yes, it is the scene from Act 3, but ah, never mind, let it be here.
Tumblr media
The scene takes place right after the victory on Ketheric Thorm (the end of Act 2). The land and Thaniel are saved. Halsin had a conversation with Isobel, she forgives him for her unintentional death and reasures him she never blamed the druid. Halsin feels relieved, but something still bothers him.
Night time, Halsin sits on a broken tree trunk at some distance from camp. Tav is looking for him and finally sees the druid with his eyes closed - the glaive "Sorrow" is lying on his lap, he is holding it with both hands. He hears Tav closing in, opens his eyes and looks at her.
Tav: I didn't want to intrude. I started to worry when I saw you are not at the camp.
Halsin: Do not worry. I needed to think, to process all what had happened in these several days. So many lives, so many things were involved. Just like in that day.
Halsin welcomes Tav to sit next to him, Tav sits, looks at Halsin and then at the glaive.
Halsin: For all these years I never believed in luck and destiny. I knew "I" had to do what's needed, I knew "I" need to grab every possibility which could help me erase Shadow Curse when I am ready with my preparations. It was my duty, my responsibility, my mistake and only "I" need to set everything right and undone what is wrong. This was the goal of my life. And now, at last, after all these years, my duty is done. What is it if not luck? Or maybe Oak Father brought you to me because he knew you would help me? What is it if not destiny? *Halsin chuckles*
Tav: I was happy to help you. But I feel something still bothering you. Aren't you happy? Thaniel is saved, Isobel is alive and Ketheric got his punishment.
Halsin *looks at his glaive, sighs*: I guess I got used to be guilty. The load was on my shoulders for a century, I knew it was there but after some time I started to realize that maybe I'll have to carry it until my final days and accepted it. I knew even after dealing with the Shadow Curse I will not bring back the dead girl to live, I may only erase part of my guilt. But... she is alive, and she forgave me even though she had all right to not do so. But she said it was not my fault. I thought these words will bring peace to my soul yet I still cannot... cannot forgive myself.
Tav: We cannot change our past, but some things can be seen differently when you learn about different perspective. And that can help in building future.
Halsin *smiles*: Words of wisdom indeed.
Tav *smiles*: I think I can help you a little more. May I? *points at the glaive*
Halsin *looks at the glaive, than at Tav surprisingly, gives her the weapon*
Tav [Cleric of Ilmater] *prays inwardly to Ilmater to help, asks him to help with Halsin's forgiveness, asks him to erase 'Regret" effect. "Regret" is erased* There, take it. *gives the glaive back*
Halsin *takes the glaive, his eyes are filled with even more surprise*: it's... gone. *stands up and swings the weapon several times as if fighting unseen enemy* It is gone! *yells* Ha! The glaive feels much lighter than before! *looks at Tav* How? Why? You...
Tav: You needed this. I just pushed you to the right direction, all of the rest was done by you.
Halsin *puts the glaive on the trunk of broken tree*: But still you helped me again althought you had all rights to not do it. I want to thank you but I am not sure if I could thank you enought.
Tav *stands up*: You don't have to, honestly. But I guess you will not alow me to just leave now. *chuckles* Then... How would you thank a friend?
Halsin *comes close to Tav, embraces her, then gently and closely looks at her while still holding Tav. His eyes meet her eyes, then he looks at her lips, his fingers touch her cheeck*
Tav *allows him to kiss her*
Halsin and Tav *kiss for couple of moments*
Halsin *stops kissing Tav, he looks a bit confused or unsure whether or not his action was appropriate even though Tav was open to kiss him*: I... We need to go back to camp, or others may start looking for us. You go first, do not worry about me.
Tav *nodes understandingly, smiles*: It is alright, I understand. See you tomorrow. *leaves*
Halsin *looks at Tav's silhouette dissapearing behind trees, still in a little shock. He grabs his glaive and comes back to the camp*
Halsin gains an ability to wield glaives.

Baldur's Gate 3 Tav Ask List also multiples of 10 for Cyrus <3
:DDD (answering for Pallybarb Cyrus since he's the one I've finished the game with)
BG3 Tav ask list
10. What was your Tav like as a child?
Cyrus was the joy of his parents' lives as they struggled to raise him on the run from Malcolm's archfey warlock patron. He never fussed or complained even as they were constantly on the move up and down the Sword Coast. At 16 (still very much a child by elf standards), he even took his father's death in stride, steeling himself against his grief so he could provide for himself and his mother.
20. Finally, what does your Tav feel as the Nautiloid crashes? Are they scared? Are they thinking of a way to survive?
In Fantasy High, there's a wizard with a frog familiar described as having exactly two moods: 'happy to be here gang' and 'mm i'm not sure about this'. Those aren't Cyrus' only two moods, but he's pretty unflappable so long as no one else's life is on the line, so even as he's like. ostensibly hurtling to his death, his attitude is one of 'well this isn't ideal...'
30. Who does your Tav think of when they go to sleep at the goblin/tiefling party? Or are they lucky and do they get to spend the night with the person they want?
He breaks up with Astarion, flirts with Gale, and chats with Karlach about how desperately they want to fuck each others' brains out. Cyrus maybe has enough wine in him to try touching her anyway & gives himself some third degree burns just to hold her hand for a heartbeat.
(He would've flirted with Wyll too, but Karlach's scene wasn't triggering if I didn't keep the Wyll interaction strictly platonic)
40. Did your Tav agree to kill the Guardian or did they go talk to them instead?
This version of Cyrus had absolute unwavering faith in the Guardian up until the negotiation with Raphael in Sharess' Caress and the Emperor forcing the truth of their agreement from his mind afterward.
50. Does your Tav save the tieflings & gnomes?
Yep! I savescummed so hard to get them all out but yes.
60. Did you clear Moonrise Towers of the shadow curse?
Yes!! I've mentioned this briefly before, but rescuing Thaniel and Oliver is the very first thing Cyrus does after breaking his oath. The scene I have in my head is Halsin feeling like Cyrus losing his oath is yet another casualty of the shadow curse, another good thing lost to his mistakes. But Cyrus promises him that they're going to fix it right now together, and in the portal fight, he debuts his new oathbreaker channel divinity where you can make an undead creature your ally. For him, it's a moment of realizing that he hasn't lost as much as he thought and that these new powers can still be used for good, despite knowing he'll carry a shard of this shadow in his soul for the rest of his life. For Halsin, it's a moment of profound hope and potential. The mists parting for the first time.
I wish they could kiss about it right then and there but they get around to it eventually.
70. Does your Tav make a deal with Raphael?
Yes. 8 wisdom strikes again, Karlach was understandably very pissed with him when she found out.
80. Does your Tav free the slaves from Steel Watch Foundry? Do they side with the Gondians or with Wulbren?
Cyrus was really on team 'blow everything up' until meeting Zanner, at which point the plan became 'save the Gondians and THEN blow everything up'. Sorry, Wulbren, the Ironhands are Barcus' now.
90. Do they betray the Emperor/Orpheus/their companions for the Absolute?
Nope, and like I get why that option is there but it does feel a little silly how many times the game presents you with the thought during what is more or less a strictly lawful good run sdfoijapfsd
100. Did Karlach get upgraded? Did she turn Illithid? Did she return to Avernus? If so, did Tav join her, or Wyll, or both?
Yes, Karlach got upgraded, no Cyrus never sold or let go of a single piece of infernal iron after meeting her (DID sell a scrap of it to Volo for some health potions before recruiting her and felt absolutely awful about not realizing how important it was).
After all is said and done with the Netherbrain, on the docks of the harbor of their hometown, Cyrus is 100% ready to let Karlach go. It's hard and it hurts, but if there's anything that breaking his oath taught him, it's that you have to let go sometimes, and he can't bear to ask her to return to Avernus just to spare his feelings, and he's prepared to rage and hold her through the whole thing.
...And then Wyll makes one last plea for her to come to Avernus with him.
Cyrus hesitates. Assures Karlach that he would follow her no matter where she goes, and Karlach chooses to go to Avernus.
In my head, there's a quick & passionate goodbye to Halsin before Cyrus, Karlach, and Wyll all rush off to the House of Hope as Karlach realizes that what scared her most about returning to Avernus might have been the possibility of being alone again-- and that her husband and her best friend aren't going to let that happen.
...That being said.
There's a lot else that's scary about Avernus. And I have a /real/ axe to grind with in-game (and, to a minor and very petty extent, fandom) presentation of this ending.
Like. There's a Zariel statblock in Descent into Avernus. We know exactly how powerful she is-- and it's powerful enough to grind three unprepared level 12 adventurers beneath her flaming fallen angel heel. The way the Avernus ending is presented, especially now with the epilogue, Karlach's fear of being forced back into the Blood War seems unfounded, because the worst thing that happens to her, Wyll, and her LI is they have to spend like a year fighting fiends nonstop. Which still sucks as a way to live, but the game is much more interested in it being BadassTM and CoolTM than lingering even on this milder form of sucking. In my opinion, it completely rips all the stakes out of the choice itself, because Karlach dying is less of a legitimate narrative choice if the alternative is just... Yeah you have to kill a bunch of fiends, but you literally find the magic solution to everything in fucking six months anyway, so??????
Hells, I was kind of hoping for Halsin to have some negative and unresolved feelings about Cyrus ditching him, just so there would be some sense of consequence for the decision.
And I realize that the narrative complexity I'm seeking won't fit into the minuscule square hole labeled 'ending cutscene & epilogue dialogue' but maybe Larian should've kept working on the game long enough to make fixing Karlach's heart part of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So. I'm making my own consequences. In my version of things, Karlach, Cyrus, and Wyll have the House of Hope as a safe haven, but only to the extent that it can be protected, defended, and kept hidden from Zariel, which is further complicated by Wyll still being in a pact with Mizora. I need to keep marinating on the details, but some broad ideas are (a) Cyrus getting exposed to demon ichor and dealing with the consequence of that (growing a tail); (b) rescue mission after Karlach gets kidnapped to be taken back to Zariel; (c) I want Dammon to give SOMEONE an infernal iron prosthetic limb... probably Cyrus. Infernal heart + infernal hand??? I think it's cute at least; (d) trying to get Wyll out of his pact (again) (given our average of 11 int and 10 wis, this can ONLY go well)

@reining-disaster cont.
Truly, he did not not like restraining the emerged beast before him. Too many times he had tried to do the same to his own wild magic only for it to double down on him two-fold, causing him to wake up two weeks later in some thicket with briars stuck in his hair rather than the next morn feeling exhausted, but worn out well. If anything, he saw his own beast before him and wanted nothing more than to give it free reign, though they weren't exactly within the safe cushioning of Silvanus's domain at the moment. Should he let the caught rage before him continue, it would only serve trouble for the both of them in the long run when it ended up stirring more shadows from their slumber. He couldn't allow it. Not when they were already so close to the end; his volunteering to be swallowed under the cliff was proof enough of his dedication to the cause.
"You must breathe. Calm yourself-...we can't afford a lengthy battle out here. Just the two of us-" And perhaps that was also his fault, having been intercepted along the path by Rein out of the camp when most of the inhabitants were already tucked in for the evening. It was his burden to bare...he did not feel it right for him to ask the others to entertain his deter from Moonrise. The frantic, trapped swivel of his company's gaze and the scent of wet salt sliding down flesh made Halsin remember just why he'd opted to try and retrieve Thaniel's other half alone. The weight of a hundred years of sorrow and continued disappointment was now crushing down on the others with its full weight, and he fear they would not be able to shoulder the pressure that had built upon his shoulders slowly enough that they could grow and strengthen along the way. Sometimes it made it him forget just how heavy the curse was to hold up and how deep a pool it was in the pond reflection of one's own heart.
As the spell wore thin, he frowned. A step backwards allowed him to assess the other's condition, though it was not one he felt proud to have been the cause of. The command resonates with him before he can hear it out fully. "...a necessary discomfort, I assure you. We can not afford a larger battle without the rest of your company-" Though it would seem he took the pre-emptive command more literally than it was desired to be. Halsin thought the other merely cross with him for the hold spell, but his next words cleared the druid's mind as a hand might lift back a wall of blinding vines to reveal the light of the moon beyond.
"...I've been alive too long for you to be this worried on my behalf." He insists, though his tone had softened to match the haunted hazel in his gaze. "But...I will note your concern and shelter it the rest of our way." As the salt smell blossomed between them, Halsin offered Rein a sheepish smile as he placed a supportive palm beneath the crook of a shoulder blade. He hardly squeezed nor claimed once drawn in by the rough grip, but hovered just so that his company would feel the presence of his support more intricate and deep rooted than a pat on the back.
Tumblr media
"...you have my word. I will not leave your side, nor see you far from mine." His free hand slipped up to grind the ball of his thumb against a tear trail making its way across his company's cheek before swiping it off with reassuring force. With Rein holding his balance steady, he hardly noticed the soreness of his aasualed ankle the more he stood with his weight off of it.

This one is a request from @thenatashapulleyuniverse , so here are the Pulleyverse characters being little shits:
(The original prompt was ranking each character based on how much of a little shit they are, but like…they’re all kinda assholes ngl so I figured this would be easier)
Raphael: like I mentioned in my previous head canon post, I feel like he would love to argue at any given point in time, so he’d be the type of person to constantly answer factual statements and/or genuine questions with complete and utter bullshit. Like “oh where did you get that shirt” “I stole it off a dead guy in Toledo” kinda shit, and it just gets more and more dramatic as he keeps talking. If you call him on it he’ll double down with “facts” to the point where you almost believe him, and when he notices you kinda believe him he just starts laughing his ass off.
Merrick: he’s just. The world’s biggest enabler. Any time anyone wants to do something stupid he just pulls up a chair and watches shit go down. Backs Raphael’s stupid stories without question no matter what. He’s the physical embodiment of “do a flip”.
Takiko: if she’s comfortable enough around a person, she’ll just randomly kick the back of their knees sometimes just to trip them up. Not hard, but enough to make them bend it and sometimes fall over. She specifically does it when she’s annoyed at something completely unrelated to cheer herself up bc it’s violence without anyone getting hurt (and because it’s funny to watch). Doesn’t matter if they’re literally twice her size, no one’s knees are safe.
Matsumoto: this probably holds no relevance in the actual time period of the book but Matsumoto is the kind of person to tell restaurants it’s someone’s birthday every time they go out to eat. He judges restaurants by how annoying their little birthday songs are, and keeps it in mind whenever he goes out anywhere. Most people refuse to go eat anywhere with him, but occasionally he’ll get someone and it’s the highlight of his week.
Joe: whenever someone says something he finds stupid, he plays his own version of “baby runs for president”, which is basically asking stupid and inane questions to whittle away at someone’s (usually ignorant) opinion until they give up. Except he doesn’t limit it to ignorant statements, he’ll do it with anything you say. He’s gotten people to question whether the sky is actually blue or not. Also he definitely pulls the “I’m from the future and this (thing that did not happen) really happened”.
Mori: he steals shiny things for no apparent reason. Like he’ll just see a useless lil knickknack that happens to be metal and he just. Takes it. He’ll give it back if asked but if they don’t notice he just keeps it. He also steals clothes a lot. Just a little thief.
Grace: if she ever sees you reading a book, she’ll blurt out fake generic spoilers like “she dies at the end” just to get a reaction out of people. One time she did it to Matsumoto and turned out to be right and he didn’t talk to her for 3 days. Another time she blurted out “they kiss in chapter 12” when someone was reading a biography on Abraham Lincoln. It’s kind of hit or miss, but when it hits, it hits.
Thaniel: if provoked, he’ll take whatever someone is holding and just. Hold it up above their head. And make them jump for it. Especially if he knows it’ll get a rise out of them (his main target is Vaulker bc when is it not). Also I feel like out of everyone in the Pulleyverse he can pull off a prank the best bc he knows how to use what’s around him, and he’s also the hardest to prank for the same reason.
Kite: whenever he needs someone’s attention, instead of saying their name or tapping them or anything, he stands behind them until they notice him. He doesn’t notice for a while that it scares people, but when he does he does it as much as humanly possible. And if they like scream or anything like that he pretends nothing happened at all and starts saying whatever he needed to say with absolutely no regard for the person having a miniature heart attack in front of him.
Agatha: she’ll casually bring up her net worth in conversations with people when she knows make less than her. Usually only to people who piss her off, but she’ll do it to friends too if she feels like getting an ego boost.
Wellesley: anytime someone tells her not to do something because it’s “rude” and “not ladylike”, she’ll do it twice as hard no matter what it is. For example, if someone calls her on not having her legs closed when she’s sitting, she’ll straight up do a split on whatever chair she’s sitting on while maintaining dead eye contact.
Minna: she eavesdrops a lot. Not for any particular reason, and sometimes not even on purpose, but she eavesdrops. Sometimes if someone pisses her off she’ll parrot the words of a conversation she overheard them in just to get a rise out of them.
Bonus: if Thaniel and Joe ever met, they’d absolutely take to tapping out “morse code” on the table in front of other people to make them think they’re talking about them. It’s utter gibberish and they both know it, but will occasionally make “subtle” facial expressions and laugh quietly like they just heard a joke.

Gonna sneak peak you all the first chapter of this novel I’m working on because I’m having too much fun with it. lol
Until I Found You Excerpt:(I don’t think I need to preface this, but it’s an adult romance novel. You’ve been warned. LOL)
Tags: ABO, primalkink, werewolves, werewolf/human romance, contemporary romance, cursing, drinking
Chapter 1: Thaniel
I sat in my oxblood leather armchair in front of my stone fireplace, swirling my glass of whiskey in my hand.  I always liked to look presentable. I was the Alpha, the top man in my pack and I couldn’t look to be anything but. Not that I really took my title seriously. I didn’t ask to be cursed by a damn vexing woman. She had played me, dragged me in and made me fall until she could put something in my drink. Most of us are here because of some sort of magic. Some corrupted witches that decided to not play fair. Some might call them selkies or sirens, we just call them vexing women. And mine played me hard.
I knew what my best attributes were and what my worst ones were, but it varied depending on the woman in my bed. One thing I knew for sure, I had a massive primal kink that could strangle a city. Most women found me to be terrifying, but a few were into it. It wasn’t my fault that I couldn’t control my urge to growl and pin a bitch to a bed. My urges to run my nose along their neck and take in their scent points behind their earlobes like a starved man that hadn’t partaken in his darkest vice. I craved it, needed it, but I wasn’t down for finding a mate. I enjoyed being alone. I enjoyed not having to worry about someone else. I just wanted to break my damn curse and not have to live this life. But everyone in this lifestyle knew one thing, there was no breaking it. Once a wolf? Always a wolf. You were a part of the pack until the day you were put in the damn ground like some forgotten sad soul. I was trapped. Trapped to become a wolf until the day I died and who knew how fucking long that would take.
I cleared my throat and focused on the crackling fire. I had been told that I had to find an Omega soon, but I hadn’t come across one that I liked. I had been to many parties, all fancy, but I had never found her. I had never found the right mate, not that I wanted to. Like I said, I lived for being alone and fucking whatever and whoever my heart desired. Fuck the other shit.
Daniel Thate, my Beta best friend and right-hand man, had been giving me shit for years about it. It wasn’t like it was my fault that women were scared of me. Most of them that is.
I sighed and a corner of my lips curled up to showcase a fang as I brought my glass of whiskey to my lips, taking a long sip. My fangs ached to sink into a woman’s neck, but I wasn’t in the mood to hunt.
I honestly don’t know what it is about me that is so intimidating. I mean I am a tall man and I have broad shoulders, and maybe I am a bit overly muscular, but I am a good man. A damn fine man if you ask me. But sometimes the outside outweighed the inside. If I’m honest, I’m lonely. I want to settle down and have a few kids. I’m thirty and by now most of my friends have settled down with a couple kids under their belt. And all I have to say for thirty is a lavish home and this damn glass of whiskey that is currently in my hand. God damnit.
“Hey, are you heading to this party with me over at Evie’s?” Daniel barged into the room and pointed over his shoulder with his thumb.
He was slightly less muscular and shorter than I. His medium toned brown hair was pulled back in a high ponytail and his shirt was a crimson red. His black leather pants had crisscrossing leather along the sides of them and his black ankle boots were loose.
“I’m serious, man. You need to come out sometime. Evie has some hot friends. I’m sure you’ll find your Omega there.” Daniel smiled at me with this shit-eating grin that only showcased how hard he was trying to get my ass out there in the playing field with him, even though the damn bastard was taken.  I set my jaw and quietly growled as I brought my whiskey up to finish it. “C’mon man, don’t leave me hanging like last time…”
I sighed and threw my glass into the fire, causing it to flare up and shatter. I lacked all fucks at the moment. If he wanted me to go, fuck it, I’d go. I’d prove him wrong. No woman would really want to settle down with me. Fuck me? Sure. Settle down? Hell no. I was the type you took home to fuck, not bring home to your mother. I brought the black military styled boot that was resting on my thigh to the ground, as I grabbed onto the arms of the chair and pushed myself up to stand.
“Fuck it. You want me to go, I’ll go.” I walked out of the room and heard Daniel follow me out of the room.
“Thaniel. You’re gonna meet the right Omega. I’m telling you. Just give it time.” Daniel continued to follow me and while I loved the little shit, he annoyed me to death.
“I’m just going to humor you.” I sighed and got to my car, unlocking it with the key fob. “What club is it at?”
“Barbed Rose on Eve’s Street.” Daniel climbed into the passenger side and I slammed the car into gear. “You really think that no woman is gonna want that amazing body of yours? How many women you take home on the daily?”
I growled at him. It didn’t matter how many were in my damn bed. Not one single one wanted to fucking stay with my ass. It always ended in the girl leaving because I meant so little other than a quick railing.
“Who’s all going to be there?” I tried to focus on the road and not on my best friend, who was too excited for me to go to some party. I partially wondered if he had planned something for me there to surprise my ass. I hated surprises.
“Oh, ya know… the usual. Evie, Diane, Vix, Jason, Mike, Christian, more. The whole pack and their Chosens.” Daniel shrugged and I nearly slammed his face into the dash when I hit the break.
“Christian?” I hated him, absolutely despised the man. He was the biggest asshole of them all. One of those men that used women and felt they were his property.
“Chill. He won’t be trouble. He gave up on that years ago.” Daniel tried to calm me down, not that he could.
“To hell he won’t be. The man wreaks fucking trouble. Prove me wrong!” I shouted and pulled up to the valet parking at the club. “His ass so much as causes a scene among the human public so help me god.”
“Don’t worry, big shot. Jesus. Evie bought out the damn club. No humans will be within a twenty-mile radius tonight.” Daniel rolled his eyes at me and touched my forearm that wouldn’t stop flexing. The veins pressing against my skin about to bust.
“You better not be lying to me.” I growled through my clenched teeth, showing off my fangs and wolf-like golden eyes.
“Shit you not, man.” Daniel raised his hands in the air and my eyes shifted back to their normal warm brown color.
“I’m trusting you. One fuck up by Christian and I’m out.” I shoved my thumb over my shoulder with a jabbing motion.
That man was the worst Alpha to exist in our pack and I hated him with a fucking passion. The man could roast in fucking flames in the underworld with Hades for all I cared. He was sadistic and cruel. No bone in my body can appreciate a man that doesn’t appreciate a woman. Human or not.
I tossed my key to the valet and walked up to the club, adjusting my black silk button-down shirt’s rolled sleeves. I didn’t know why I had fucking decided to go here. Why did I want to be subjected to this? The bouncer at the front door was a friend of ours and Daniel fist bumped him before entering the joint. I gave the man a quick nod before getting engulfed by loud club music that bumped and vibrated off the walls.
“Sugar, you made it!” Evie ran up to her husband in six-inch heels that had my mind wandering how many surfaces they fucked on with them.
I shook my head and sighed, ignoring how my best friend gathered her up into his arms and made out with her like there was nothing better to do. Like I wasn’t in the damn room. I took my leave and made my way over to the bar, a place that I’d rather be. Drinking always made me feel better and made these parties more bearable.
I had barely gotten my beer in my hand before a hand clapped onto my back. I nearly spilled my drink as I jumped from the interaction with an unknown presence.
“Hey, how ya been, mate?” I recognized Jason’s voice with ease. He was from Australia and had been a resident for a few years now.
“Fine. Don’t you have something better to do than give me small talk?” I lifted my beer to my lips and took a swallow of it.
“Look, mate, I haven’t seen ya in ages. You don’t come out much.” He tapped the bar and ordered a dark lager.
“Not really my thing.” I shrugged and took another sip from my beer. It wasn’t as good as it could have been. I should have ordered something stronger.
“Yeah well, we missed ya.” Jason knocked his beer against mine before walking away.
It wasn’t until I heard a commotion behind me that I really cared about what was going on around me. I had barely even listened to Evie’s speech or to any of the other Omegas that had walked up to me. I was lost in my own thoughts about what I was even doing there. Why I was there. I could be sitting at home playing a game or watching TV.  But one thing I could not ignore was the sounds of a woman struggling behind me. It was then that I knew I was going to get my ass in trouble.
“Let go of me! I’m not some plaything to be had!” A female voice echoed past the crowd of people talking and drinking, filling my ears with her voice alone.
It wasn’t a tone that I wanted to hear tonight. It wasn’t even something I wanted to ever hear. It was a woman in distress and the voice that accompanied it was one that I really, really, hoped wouldn’t be connected to it.
“C’mon, baby girl, let me show you what a real Alpha can do. You don’t know what it’s really like until you been in bed with an Alpha male.”
Changed his old ways my ass. Christian Alpine, the one and only asshole. A man that closely resembled a damn monster rather than a man. He was no Alpha male; he was an abomination. A mistake that deserved to be cursed. He had practically begged for the damn bitch to curse him. No normal, decent human would beg for a vexed woman to curse them.
“I don’t want you. I didn’t even want to come to this damn thing. You dragged me here against my will like you- like you owned me!” The woman struggled and tugged on the chain that was connected to a metal collar around her neck.
I wasn’t having this shit. I could just walk out right now like I had planned. I told my fucking best friend I’d walk if Christian pulled this bullshit again, but he had told me he had changed. Lies! The man was right there, tugging a woman around by a fucking collar and leash against her will. He had defiled a beautiful thing. A collar was meant to be something special. Something that meant commitment in some cases. A sentiment of love and respect. A symbol of something more. Not what he was using it for.
I sniffed the air and one word fell into my mind. Human.
