Hello TWST fandom!

I've recently seen some folks draw some TWST characters in the clothes of the Kuroshitsuji characters they look similar to in honour of the new season, so I wanted to give it a go as well! So here's Joanne Harcourt in Epel Felmiers new outfit, because it's very cool!

Joanne and Epel look very similar, but their personalities are very different imo. I do think they'd be friends despite that ^^

#I've been TRYING hard okay #I've been trying to buy better clothes from smaller shops #but when they arrive it turns out they're cheap polyester drop ship crap #I've been trying to get more involved in the queer community and be more of a person #but the online zoom meetings were uncomfortable #the discord transmasc voice class went badly because I didn't understand how to use the bot #I booked a queer film night for me and my partner but it turned out to be creepy and churchy so we dropped out #I've signed up to steward pride we'll see how that goes #I went to a protest but it rained a lot so I only stayed for half #I've been trying to use amazon less but every time I go around my small local stores they don't have any of the stuff I'm looking for #I'm trying to be more myself and be more brave but my binders don't fit and I can't use a sewing machine #and every time I speak to a stranger or a colleague my voice goes up #I'm trying to work out more and eat less but I'm so tired #I'm trying to boycott and buy slave-free and say no to Ai and to genocide and to tiktok and disney and nestle and spotify #Telling myself I have food at home and to stop scrolling reddit and got get more sleep and to call my friends #All this therapy all these good choices all this work and so little to show for it some days #I am going back to fucking bed

if you haven’t answered this already- not rlly an art ask but how do you make such great character designs? they’re all so cool what gigabrained magic are you using…

color palettes and motifs - go ham on them!!! it's easier for me because i tend to use very limited color palettes on character designs, but they make or break a design in my eyes so experiment with them (esp based on the emotive/personality associations with different colors). and also motifs - for me the best are the most visual, like certain foods, items relating to the character, or recognisable shapes (such as crescents and stars). study other designs with the same motif and cram as much of it into the design as you can (or as much as you'd like the character's "symbol" to be obvious) !

#ask zeno #also shape of clothes helps to express personality #tight clothes - mature + smart + formal #baggy clothes - childish + casual + cute #mix n match with that for contrast - like tight bottoms baggy top (oc example: angel) or baggy bottoms tight top (oc example: paro chroneko)#also USE DIFFERENT BODY TYPES #fat is usually associated with (good) kindness or (bad) greed and thin is with (good) active and (bad) sickly #muscular with (good) confident/strong and (bad) hulking/dumb #but you can and should IGNORE THESE whenever the hell you want because they aren't reflective of real people at all!!!#just arbitrary cartoon rules #a lot of cartoon “rules” (cof cof disney ones) are kinda offensive too #like fat means greedy? big nose means bad? what did you mean by that mister walt 🧐
