oh my god literally the thing about greyson is he's so implacable he's not just like the sort of bland everyman protagonist that authors use for readers to project onto he's just Like That. he flirts with the coolest person ever by being a complete idiot like. things happen to him and it's so funny every time it's like every other character is in a dystopian novel and greyson is in some elaborate seinfeld episode (ive never seen seinfeld) and even though his actions have weight due to events around him everything he does is so fucking funny. his surname is tolliver and youll never believe who he becomes. he's fascinating he's my babygirl I want to study him under a microscope. im so sorry for the rant but I cannot stop thinking about this man he is such an enigma. I honestly think he's the best instance that I've seen of Just Some Guy as a protagonist/deuteragonist in a story filled with people who fit the genre (which makes him fit the genre and tone of the story in such an interesting way) which is clearly due to shusterman's amazing writing but jesus christ there will never be another greyson tolliver he is the character ever

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

I like jin because i went through almost all of vrains being like "this is pretty cool but i'm not particularly attached to anyone" and then the lightning reveal hit me like a truck (don't ask me why i was surprised when 1. i could do the math with how many lost incident kids were left and 2. it was obvious. whatever.) and it was like, yeah he was horrifically traumatized and used as a puppet, but he forgot about all the bad stuff that happened to him so he's fine in the end and i was like WHAT? WHAT THE FUCK? THAT'S REALLY WHAT WE'RE GOING WITH? and i've been unwell about it ever since ❤

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

MY ABSOLUTE FAAAAAAVORITE canon thing about jin is how he represents light (lightning) and yusaku represents darkness (ai). every fucking tiiiiime the light/dark dichotomy gets subverted like that i go a little nuts for it. how for yusaku darkness is comforting and protective and for jin light is harsh and blinding. how they're total opposites in the relationships they have with their ignises (igni?) and with their trauma. it makes me crazy (in a good way)

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

based on what little jin content i've seen i think I tend to hc jin as more of an asshole than other people do. like i see a lot of jin as this oblivious naive idiot and it just Does not compute to me. in terms of losing his memories, i don't believe for a second that all of that stuff is just gone, and even that aside i just like……………don't think jin is a very nice person. to be more specific I hc that jin has a lot of pent-up resentment about how he's treated postcanon and how everyone seems to be keeping things from him. not that every ignis is exactly like their origin but this IS the kid that lightning came from

Motion and change for Ehyru? 👀

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

Ehryu is very flexible and coordinated! as a bard and occasional dancer, she very much does a lot of moving and dodging and obviously dancing in battle.

she's also just really active and physically expressive. big reactions, big shows of affection, flitting around a room to do this, or talk to that person... it's rare to find her sitting entirely still.

and to that end, she does like lighter clothes that allow her to move freely — and even since she's picked up a bit of tanking, she's super picky about avoiding bulky armor. even when it's not strictly necessary, she just doesn't like having her range of motion limited.

change: Has your OC ever drastically changed their appearance? Significant haircuts, big tattoos, complete wardrobe swap, etc? Why? How do they feel about the change?

yes and no. her appearance was never super static to begin with — she regularly lets her hair grow out more or less, adopts the fashions of wherever she goes, that kind of thing... but she's never had cause to do anything more drastic than that.

she's had one permanent physical change, but it was very subtle. after rejoining with Ardbert, her non-odd-eye got a little bit pinker. if you didn't know her well, you probably wouldn't have even noticed.

still, Ehryu herself noticed. and she actually surprised herself with how chill about it she felt. normally she'd be beyond distressed by anything happening to her body without her permission, but well... it's because of Ardbert. how could she be upset about that? it just feels right.

i actually do not!!!! for the first time in 10 yrs i have absolutely nothing for royai. and while that is a wee bit of a shame - genuinely - 10 years!! and finally nothing going on!! what a concept. wild. weird tbh

in the meantime, have a piece of a shelved au fic that's been marinating since before the pandemic but i could never manage to conjure up anything substantial, other than a few scenes (starring a royai kid) :

Take off had never been Mia's favourite part of a flight, but once they levelled out, she made herself comfortable and pulled out her tablet to connect to the plane's Wi-Fi. Putting her headphones in, Mia hit play on her Spotify playlist and leaned back, preparing herself for the next eight hours of sitting on this plane. She worried for her father. Mia didn’t think it was healthy to coop people up in black sites for so long. He could be there for a month, minimum, and a year, maximum. He missed out on so much that was happening. When she was really young, Mia hadn’t fully understood why her father was so absent all the time. When they were together, they had so much fun and when apart, she missed him so much. As Mia grew older, she realised that her constant questioning and tears wore down her mother a lot. She had made excuses for him because Mia was a child and couldn’t understand. “Daddy is working away. He can’t be here right now.” “How about I give you a hug instead? Will that make you feel better?” “Daddy won’t make your birthday this year, sweetheart. I'm sorry. But he’s set up a secret phone call just for you if you want to talk to him?” It wasn’t fair on her mother, but Mia wouldn’t hold that against Dad. It wasn’t his fault. It wasn’t like he could up and leave the military. He was bound to them until his contract was up. They owned him completely. While that terrified Mia, it was his choice. He was old enough to make his own, and Dad wouldn’t do anything that was really dangerous, right? The pilot’s voice came over the PA system, signalling the seatbelt sign had been turned off and they were free to wander about the cabin. Mia settled back once more, opening a game on her tablet and getting ready to entertain herself for the next few hours.

I’m kind of curious about your puppet character, when did you first make them and have they changed much from their initial creation?

My FNAF OC, Madeleine Marionette, was made back in Fall/Winter of 2014 when FNAF 2 was first released but she initially just the idea of a human girl who looks much like the Puppet (I've lost the initial sketch). She'd be further worked upon for another month or two before being fully robotic and sock monkey-ish as Madeleine Marionette.

Initially she was more blood-thirsty and not all that much childish. Much more of a kid that was at their breaking point and willing to take it out on the world as violently as possible. Over time she became more scared and I guess I made her even more childish as well as giving her that trademark love of ice cream.

Her initial lore also had her being made instead of the trademark Fazbear Puppet (this was back before the.... '''lore''' was established) because the skin of the robotic puppet was made too small and thus they decided to make a brand new and cute animatronic puppet for an experimental location. She was not well-liked by her fellow animatronics since they were under tight control by their ringleader and once MM was activated she was very unhappy with the situation since she had the highest intelligence programed into her. She became a danger to the ringleader's plans and even tried to decommission the ringleader through a plan that went wrong. MM got punished severely and it damaged both her face behind the mask and her processor. [This is a bit edgy in my opinion since this was 2014/2015 and going through a tough period of time.]

I also drew and shipped her with a friend's Puppet character but IDK if that ship's still on the table anymore so she's just been a regular animatronic with the mental capacity of a twelve-year-old with not much else going on. I also think she had a bit of an artistic side but that got fully cut.

Recently I've been reworking my old FNAF Verse (FNAF OCs and a cross of an old story I used to write called 'Seven Night Goals') and I can say for sure that she's the adopted daughter of Ti Gold, still has a love of ice cream, and may or may not still be a nightmare if a night guard accidentally doesn't wind the music box in time (don't worry, Ti Gold stops her in time now).

Fun Fact: I used to draw her every day! She's my darling daughter and favorite OC ever and I keep accidentally recreating her in other fan pieces and original series whoops. Here's my favorite piece I did of her before I went off to college.
