#trucy wright: investigations au

Hello people, let me introduce you to one AU I've been working on these past few months... Trucy Wright: Investigations
What if Trucy had her own Investigations spin-off ? Well, that was the thing I thought about, by making my own story !!
Summary: Trucy Wright, magician extraordinaire comes back home after multiple years on tour, but as she enters the office of the Wright Anything Agency, she discovers a note saying her father was abducted and a clue to find him ! Determined to uncover the truth behind what really happened to him, Trucy embarks on an adventure, and multiple investigations with familiar figures to bring her father back home !
The (made-up) game is set two years after aa6 and would be consisting of 4 cases, but first, here are the characters !
Profiles:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Story
Case 1: Welcome Home, My Turnabout
Tumblr media
Trucy comes back from touring and Athena picks her up from the airport. As they go to the WAA, they find that a murder happened right outside the office while they were away !! With the help of Athena, they investigate the scene of the crime.
After they discovered who was behind this, they go inside the office to find out Phoenix disappeared with a note and a piece of cloth which appears to have khura'inese patterns. Trucy, with her emergency money, decides to book a plane for Khura'in.
Case 2: Turnabout Nostalgia (i had no better names)
Tumblr media
Back to Khura'in ! Trucy meets up with Apollo who is busy with a case, so, for old time's sake, they investigate together ! The duo is also supported by the lovely comments of Rayfa who somehow is there.
After solving yet another case, Apollo with the help of Nahyuta find out that the pattern comes from a little community in London, so off to London we go ! Thanks to Apollo's money, Trucy books another plane for the UK !
Case 3: My Flying Turnabout
Tumblr media
Quite a bad luck Trucy has ! Indeed as she enjoys her plane ride, a murder suddenly happens (three rows behind her to be exact). So, with the help of Aries, a french prosecutor, they investigate to figure out who decided to kill someone in the air ! As they investigate, Trucy finds a photograph with Aries on it, but decides to keep it with her..
After they land, Trucy meets up with Edgeworth (who was at a conference in London) who takes care of the murderer (having connections with Interpol does help), and they decide to take a rest as Trucy explains the situation.
Case 4: Turnabout Revelations
Tumblr media
The day after arriving to London, Trucy receives a text from an unknown number with an address, telling her to go there, Edgeworth comes with her. The place is an abandonned storage area in which a recreation of a crime scene (ala Little Thief) is there for them to solve it. The murder is one of a young girl, who was harassed by a man who, at some point, decides to threaten her with a gun while she was with her brother. He harms her and her brother but during the fight, he drops his weapon and the brother catch it, and fires two time; only hitting the young girl. Trucy and Edgeworth both come to the conclusion that the culprit is the brother, but they are interrupted as someone comes in, telling them they're wrong ! And that person is Aries (please pretend to be shocked)
Tumblr media
Aries was actually the one who ordered to abduct Phoenix, and was following Trucy from the moment she came home to here as a way to ensure she was looking for her father. Why ?
Tumblr media
For Aries to take her as a hostage, so Phoenix could make a re-trial and catch the guy that, according to him killed the girl. As Edgeworth is kind of helpless in this situation, Aries calls Trucy a bunch of names, telling her she's nothing, etc (think of the meanest thing you could say to someone). But as his monologue goes on, he makes a slip-up that causes Trucy to react. By remembering all the details, evidence (the photo from the case 3 makes a comback !) and others she realise : Aries was the one who unintentionally killed his sister, her only family, before running off to France. Aries has a breakdown and Trucy, with the help of Edgeworth, manages to free herself from Aries' grip and also magically handcuffs him (don't ask. it's magic.). After some time, the police finds Phoenix and the family is reunited !! Happy end for everyone yay !!
Gameplay
For the gameplay, I thought about having the Perceive ability being brought back because she is a Gramarye, and also keep the Rebuttals because during her investigations, she is always with either a defense attorney or a prosecutor.
But I also wanted to add another gimmick, that I called Showtime: Trucy is a performer, thus, she knows how to handle misdirections, she knows how to make a crowd believe in something that isn't completely real. So, in her head, she considers the crime scenes as magic stages.
Tumblr media
(here is an example of how it would look like)
So basically, Showtime allows her to put her inside the murderer's mind to discover things they might've hidden or illusions they might've created thanks to evidence she gathered.
Aaaaand that's all !! Thank you if you read all of that: this AU is really dear to me and I loved designing the characters and making up a story ! I might post some drafts of designs and stuff that didn't make it; but if you have any questions or suggestions I'd gladly answer them !

Y’know that throwaway line about Von Karma having a granddaughter? What is she and Trucy were in AAI 4 as the weird girl companions? Meet Lacie Von Karma :D
Tumblr media
She’s Franziska and Edgeworth’s niece! She and Trucy wouldn’t get along at first, but they’d get closer throughout the game and become friends.
I have a comic idea that I’ll make soon, so keep an eye out for that 👀

Cannot stop thinking about an au where Turnabout Trump doesn't happen/happens but Olga is convicted instead so Apollo is still working at the Gavin law offices for his first few cases. He meets Trucy at one of the crime scenes and she tags along on his investigations, but she doesn't tell him about her connection to Phoenix until after their first case together. Ema likes Apollo less at first bc she doesn't like the fop and you work for his brother, who she also hates bc he's very condescending when he cross examines her in court.
When you meet Klavier in the second case you can ask Kristoph about him and vice versa. They don't interact with each other but you get to learn some more things about the brothers, their opinions on each other and their backstory. You also find out that Klavier was the one who got Phoenix disbarred and Kristoph is apologetic about it, given that Phoenix is his "friend" (though they haven't interacted at all since phoenix was found not guilty).
At one point Trucy is visiting Apollo at the Gavin Law Offices when Kristoph returns and "politely" kicks her out. She then reveals to Apollo who the daddy she keeps talking about actually is. You get to meet Phoenix again in the next case and find out more about the incident 7 years ago.
Over the course of the game you/Apollo starts to grow more suspicious of Kristoph and his intentions, alongside a growing sense of horror that you got an innocent person convicted in your first case. It all comes to a head in Succession when Drew Misham finally uses the stamp, which turns up fixed to a letter in the Gavin Law Offices postbox that Apollo collects on his way in one morning. You hand it to Kristoph and he promptly disappears with it, feigning excuses. Phoenix uses this case to finally spring his trap and test the jurist system. Kristoph gets the double whammy of his brother and mentee turning on him at once and the murder of Shadi Enigmar is properly resolved. It's also revealed that Trucy started tagging along on Apollo's investigations to collect intel for Phoenix.
At the end of Succession, Apollo is offered a role at the newly-renamed Wright Anything Agency and there's a final rise from the ashes-style case that serves as Apollo's first proper case as an official WAA employee and helps tie up some loose threads/lets the characters deal with the fallout of Succession.
Idk I just think it'd be fun/satisfying to realise slowly that there's more to everything than meets the eye.

I've been thinking a lot about DCU stuff and Ace Attorney thoughts got mixed in by accident, because it's got a lot of the same themed, colorful character designs and silly pun names. So, of course, I started immediately daydreaming about a DCU-style Superhero AU for Ace Attorney. (I often do not fully control what I think about.)
And then I was like, "I think I just finally have to play Ace Attorney at this point, before I get stuck in a weird daydream loop because I don't know enough about the plot to worldbuild properly. I will let this be the final push to just start these games."
Based on my extremely limited knowledge (I have only actually played 2 episodes of the first game), here are my Superhero AU thoughts so far. I don't like 1-1 character role match-ups in general when I fuse worlds, so none of these AA characters are fully aligned with any particular DCU character.
Phoenix Wright would make a good speedster, I think. This is partially because of the spiky hair, but also because there's a terrible irony to being the fastest man in the world who keeps being too late to stop certain tragedies. It also suits the way he's apparently never properly prepared for anything but also quickly manages to pull through. He's probably still a defense attorney in his civilian identity. (In accordance with later games, he has to stop being a superhero for several years when he's framed for a crime.)
Besides Phoenix's mentor Mia, who is also both a superhero and a lawyer, ordinary civilian Larry Butz is the only person who initially knows that Phoenix has superpowers. He honestly hasn't told anyone Phoenix's secret identity! But Larry also somehow gets into more scrapes and "damsel in distress" situations than Lois Lane and he's not even an investigative reporter.
Mia Fey, Maya Fey, and Pearl Fey have a Shazam situation, I think, in which they transform into a "Mystic Champion" magically empowered by the ghosts of their ancestors. Like a Shazam & Danny Phantom fusion. Mia Fey was the first in her family to become a publicly known superhero. A lot of people don't know that it's not the original Mystic Champion (same face and same superpowered form as Mia, which breaks Phoenix's heart a little every time) until Maya or Pearl transforms back into a regular girl after the fight is over.
I think Miles Edgeworth is a Batman type hero, but one still partially ensnared by Manfred von Karma, who is his Ra's al Ghul. (This makes Franziska into Talia, but there is definitely nothing romantic there.) Maybe he does have superpowers of some kind, maybe not, and he could still potentially be a prosecutor. He doesn't have a Brucie persona, though. Phoenix is not impressed by Edgeworth's harsh and even cruel approach to vigilante work. (Steel Samurai was Miles' Gray Ghost or Zorro hero inspiration, I'm guessing.)
Gumshoe is Miles' Commissioner Gordon figure and doesn't know his secret identity yet. He's either going to learn in the middle of a really bad situation or he's just going to straight-up figure it out himself one day and scare the hell out of Miles.
I'm still thinking about characters like Kristoph and Klavier Gavin, Apollo Justice, and Trucy Wright, but I don't know enough about them to fully flesh these thoughts out yet. I think the Gavins would make good Kryptonian equivalents (a cold and calculating Superman and a rockstar Supergirl), Apollo might make a good Wonder Girl equivalent (his bracelet becomes a Lasso of Truth) as the lost son of an Amazon, and Trucy would obviously be fun as a Zatanna type of hero.

AA:Dual Destinies but with Professor Layton…
Concept: Athena doesn’t quite complete law school in time to save Simon, she’s one class credit off and therefore will land up being a semester late. She was still studying abroad in Europe at the time.
Athena meets and befriends Flora during her studies, they attend the same college. During this time Flora tells Athena all these amazing stories about her adoptive father Professor Hershel Layton. Before Flora and Athena part ways she encouraged Athena to reach out if she ever found herself in any sort of trouble.
Well, she was certainly in trouble and desperate to find some way to help Simon. She approaches Professor Layton and asks for his help. He’s hesitant at first (he’s limited his adventuring trips because he’s the adoptive father of a literal toddler at the moment) however at the mention of Flora, he reconsiders.
(Also something to note, this means Athena is not present for the first half of Dual Destinies, believe it or not her presence isn’t necessarily a necessity for The Monstrous Turnabout or Turnabout Academy. In this AU, Apollo meets Junie during Turnabout Academy and takes her case up himself, together he and Klavier figure out the truth. Now having been acquainted with Junie, he does save her during the explosion at the courthouse and so on.)
Layton agrees to help Athena, and they leave for LA immediately to investigate the case of Metis Cykes Murder from 15 years ago. Little do they know soon after they get there, there will be another murder in the same place.
Unable to sleep, Athena goes to investigate at the Space Station alone, much like she does in Dual Destinies. She passes out in the museum, and this is how the killer is able to plant her prints on the lighter. Athena wakes up after the incident is over like a whole like 16-18 hours later and reunites with Layton.
During the Cosmic Turnabout, to clear Solomon Starbuck’s name, Apollo and Phoenix land up coming across the lighter, and Athena Cykes is accused.
(At some point during all this Apollo is entering the detention center and comes across Junie, this is when he finds out that she and Athena are childhood friends and she actually asks Apollo to take Athena’s case. He declines, but he starts to feel uncertain of his judgment of the accused Athena.)
When the officers arrest Athena, the Professor calls in a favor of an old friend, Phoenix Wright. Apollo gets upset when he takes her case, and decides to complete his investigation separately from Phoenix. (Also Layton gets to meet Trucy and honestly that makes me more happy than I can express with words, top hat Twinsies)
The hostage situation occurs at the Space Station, causing the exact case from 15 years ago to be retried. This time, the Professor is also allowed to aid in the investigation, and the fic would continue from there.
Oh yeah, and the Phantom is Don Paolo.

Hey guys, is there a reason we haven’t done a Laywright bakery/cafe AU? Is it because we technically got one in the game? I haven’t seen one anyway.
Seriously though, what if after getting disbarred and all the backlash, Phoenix decides he and Trucy just need to move. He didn’t plan on getting his own cafe, but he did pretty well in home economics in school and he has experience as a barista to help pay for law school. Plus it keeps his daughter fed so win win.
Then this British kid starts showing up, having tried all over town to find a proper cup of tea. “Please tell me you have something, Mr. Wright!” He doesn’t, but he knows Maya and Pearly sent him a bunch of herb to celebrate his new job. So go nuts, kid. And that’s how Luke Triton becomes his first employee. Kind of. The kid has a habit of getting involved in local mysteries and just disappearing for awhile. At least there’s an influx of customers to see ‘Detective Luke’.
Of course something really weird starts happening and Luke writes a letter to his friend and mentor back in England to see if he’ll come help.
Featuring potential moments such as:
“Professor, this is my boss, Mr. Wright.”
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Wright.”
“Nice to meet you too. Luke’s mention you a lot so it’s good to finally be able to put a face to the name.”
“Ah, all exaggerations I assure you.”
“If you insist.”(Hey, if you don’t want to talk about it, I’m not going to push. The less I know you, the less likely you’ll be accused of murder.)
———
Luke running out on work to solve some puzzles
“Luke wait! I’m terribly sorry, Mr. Wright. I do hope this isn’t a regular occurrence.”
“He’s still a kid. I can’t blame him for having a life outside of work. At least we don’t get a lot of customers so he never leaves me short handed.” (Judging by the way you’re suddenly refusing to make eye contact, I can guess where he got that habit from.)
———
Layton and Luke getting cornered when Trucy shows up to help them escape.
“Me and Papa thought you might be getting in over your head, but don’t tell him I was here. He told me not to do anything dangerous or get arrested since he’s tired of dealing with both or those things.”
———
Phoenix using his magatama to get info when a goon refuses to talk even after solving their puzzle
“I must say Mr. Wright, you are rather adept in prying information from a person.”
“Yeah, I’ve had some practice.”
“Former law enforcement I presume?”
“Defense attorney actually, but it definitely felt like I was doing their job too.”
———
Luke complaining about the detective blocking their investigation
(That kind of sounds like Gumshoe…)
“You know these two, pal?”
“Yeah. Luke here works for me.”
“Hey, you started your firm again? That’s great! Wait until Mr. Edgeworth hears.”
“What? No I didn’t.”
“So that must make you an attorney.”
“Does he look old enough to be a lawyer? He’s like ten, Gumshoe.”
Offended Luke noises
“Perhaps it’s best not to dissuade him from his misconception, Mr. Wright.”

Assistant Clay Terran AU details/timeline (major aa4/5 spoilers): (there are brief timeskips in places where events don’t change)
-He still dreams of becoming an astronaut (but this gets delayed for whatever reason so he’s not officially part of the team by the time of the HAT-2 launch. Mr. Starbuck is still a mentor figure to him in this AU)
-Apollo has known about Clay’s unusual sense of smell from the beginning. It’s...not exactly a secret, but everyone assumes Clay’s speaking metaphorically and not literally when he says “something about that stinks”
-Clay works as a part-time model alongside studying/astronaut training. Apollo was helping him with job hunting in their early college years when he saw an ad for a modeling gig, and jokingly suggested Clay go for it (“I mean, you’re a handsome guy. if they didn’t take you I’d be shocked haha--”). Clay went for it
-To his surprise, the pictures gained a lot of attention and he became something of a local mini celebrity. He meets Klavier during a photoshoot they were both in, about a year and a half before Apollo runs into Klavier during his investigation. They quickly grow to be close acquaintances (not quite friends; they only run into each other during work but they hit it off pretty well in those few encounters)
-Apollo moves into Clay’s apartment shortly before he starts working at Gavin Law Offices, because it happens to be nearby. Clay thinks it’s just a coincidence that Klavier’s last name is also Gavin, as Klavier never mentions having a brother (no reason to)
-He misses Apollo’s first and second trials, due to a busy schedule (probably a good thing, because when Apollo tells him about the panties after the first day of investigating, Clay completely loses it for 5 minutes straight)
-Clay mentioned encountering the famous rockstar prosecutor Klavier Gavin but Apollo had been too focused on studying to remember the conversation. When they meet for the first time at People Park, Apollo doesn’t realize this is the guy Clay talked about all those months ago
-Apollo only describes Klavier as “some guy in purple”. Clay has a hunch but he says nothing about it
-After the day 2 trial, Apollo tells Clay the prosecutor was “that purple guy from yesterday. He’s kind of annoying and his hair’s in this weird drill braid or something” and Clay goes “Oh so it was KlavGav? He’s pretty cool” and Apollo spits out his drink
-In the month between Turnabout Corner and Serenade, Clay meets the Wrights. He and Trucy get along scarily well, to Apollo’s dismay (he calls Clay a magnet for chaos and the pair give Apollo the same sinister grin in response)
-Clay joins Apollo and Trucy at the Gavinners concert. When the murder occurs, he asks Trucy to let him assist Apollo instead. Klavier had been kind enough to give Clay a free ticket, and so he wanted to pay him back somehow--Trucy agrees on the condition that they at least let her stick around for the investigation
-Klavier learns about Clay’s weird ability to smell “lies” after Daryan leaves the hallway. He vehemently denies that Daryan could be suspicious, and Apollo says that all Clay means is that Daryan’s hiding something
-Clay and Ema get along surprisingly well, as he shows a genuine interest in forensic science and is more than willing to engage in conversation about it with her
-Between Turnabout Serenade and Succession, as Klavier considers disbanding the Gavinners, he becomes better acquainted with Clay and Apollo. Having little else to do, Apollo accompanies Clay to some of his photoshoots. By “coincidence,” Klavier happens to be there every time Apollo goes; they chat while Clay cycles through outfit after outfit. Klavier also gets invited to Trucy’s magic shows
-During Phoenix’s absence, Trucy stays with Clay and Apollo (at Clay’s suggestion, which Phoenix agrees to). In time, Trucy feels like a little sister to both of them. This is when Clay first volunteers to work backstage and move equipment for Trucy’s shows
-Clay is not present for the investigation of Drew Studio, but he hears about it from Apollo and watches the trial from the gallery. When Phoenix goes over his findings about the forged diary page and Kristoph, Apollo asks Trucy to let Clay take her place in the courtroom. It’s out of concern for her wellbeing, but she insists she can handle it. Clay proposes he joins both of them behind the bench--should anything happen to Trucy, he can support her
-Kristoph is the most unsettling man Clay has ever encountered. He deflects accusations without skipping a beat, and if he gets nervous, there’s barely a scent to pick up. He hates the condescending tone in Kristoph’s voice when he speaks to Klavier and mocks Apollo (maybe coming down from the gallery was a mistake--Trucy had been the one nudging him to keep him grounded despite his vow to watch over her)
-Moments before Apollo announces Shadi Smith’s true identity, Clay smells fear from Trucy. Although she urges Apollo to press on, Clay gives her a knowing look, to which she responds with a determined expression and watery eyes (soon after, he feels a gentle tug on the hanging sleeve of his jacket and sees it gripped tightly in her small hand)
-After the trial, Clay heads back to the apartment while Apollo and Trucy visit Vera. On his way out of the courthouse, before turning the corner, he hears Phoenix say “Take care, Thalassa” and sees a familiar woman walking away. When Phoenix realizes Clay is there and has put the pieces together, he asks him to keep it a secret. Clay tells him he can’t do that, and instead rushes out of the building to try and catch up to Lamiroir
-When he does, he tries to convince her to tell the truth to Apollo and Trucy. She agrees to accompany him to the hospital, and leaves after telling them the truth (not before Apollo storms out in disbelief to collect his thoughts, followed by Clay; and Trucy, while mostly understanding, is left conflicted on Apollo’s behalf. She eventually agrees that Thalassa should go, that they all need time to process things, but she thanks her for being upfront about her identity)
Dual Destinies:
-With Athena around, Clay only shows up for investigations/moral support in the gallery (he accompanies Trucy and Apollo to meet Athena in Monstrous Turnabout, and investigates with Klavier during Turnabout Academy)
-He gets an internship at the Cosmos Space Center at the end of May (a month after Monstrous Turnabout), and assists with preparations for the HAT-2 launch in December
-Trucy and Athena go clothes shopping with him every now and then. Sometimes they meet up with Klavier, sometimes Apollo tags along
-During his internship, Clay becomes well-acquainted with the astronaut set to participate in the HAT-2 launch with Starbuck: Sue Parr-Unova. She’s a boisterous but good-natured woman, whom Clay thinks of like an older sister
-Sue is severely injured during the sabotaged launch. At first, Clay bottles up his feelings and puts on a brave face. Apollo, aware of how much she means to his friend and knowing Starbuck couldn’t possibly be the culprit, takes the case. He tentatively asks Clay if he’d want to come with to investigate/assist, an offer that Clay hesitates to jump at (recalling his behavior during Vera Misham’s trial), but he accepts
-Clay joins Apollo and Athena at the bench for the trial, becoming suspicious of the whole incident when he learns that she feels uncertain in discussions about the knife (according to Apollo. Clay’s ability doesn’t pick up anything because she’s confused, not nervous)
-When the time bomb goes off, Clay gets injured after shoving Apollo and Juniper away. Apollo temporarily leaves the case in Athena’s hands while he goes to look for Juniper’s doll in the middle of Turnabout Countdown, leading to him getting attacked
-At the hospital Apollo swears to Clay that he’ll find the one responsible, for his sake, and that he should rest. Clay reassures Apollo that he won’t do anything rash, but the case bothers him too much and he insists on investigating despite his injuries. Apollo is unable to dissuade him, so he lets Phoenix know that he and Clay will be conducting their own investigation (this is after the 1st trial, ending in Athena being arrested)
-Clay expresses his thoughts about Athena--he believes she had nothing to do with the attempted murder, but all of the evidence so far has pointed to her. Apollo agrees, saying he suspects the Phantom disguised themselves as Athena to commit the crime (this isn’t what actually happens, it’s just their only possible theory)
-Unfortunately their search does little to prove their suspicions, agitating Clay, and even Apollo starts to get frustrated by the lack of a trail. They find Trucy back at the Space Center, right before Aura sets her hostage plan into motion (unintentionally preventing Trucy from being targeted)
-They also briefly run into Fulbright during the chaos, who says the whole situation’s got him feeling anxious, which immediately sets off both Apollo and Clay’s alarms (Apollo’s bracelet reacts, and Clay doesn’t smell anything at all)
-Their investigation doesn’t turn anything else up, so they meet up with Phoenix at the courthouse to discuss their theory, though he doesn’t have the evidence to prove the Phantom could have been the culprit either
-Apollo joins Phoenix at the bench, with Clay in the gallery fervently sifting through his notes during the trial. When Blackquill gives them the psych profile, Clay starts to piece together an idea and brings up the possibility of an alternate escape route to Apollo (by throwing a balled-up ripped note at him, but his aim sucks and he hits Phoenix instead. anyway-). This leads to an open discussion about the supposed escape route and Phoenix calling Fulbright to the stand
-Clay continues to watch the trial from the gallery with Klavier, whom Apollo called during the recess to keep him company. After Fulbright is taken away, he relaxes for the first time since the incident and cries
-Sue pulls through, although it’ll be a while before she can return to the Space Center. Clay finally fulfills his dream of becoming an astronaut some time after the trial, and cuts down on the modeling gigs (but doesn’t quit completely)
--------AA6 Minor Spoilers (Magical Turnabout)--------
Clay doesn’t play much of an active role in the events of SoJ, but he’s there for Trucy’s big show when it goes awry and participates in the investigation. Thalassa is also in attendance, and spends a lot of time at the detention center after Trucy is arrested.
Clay’s ability: -Clay’s nose is extremely sensitive to nervous/stress sweat, but with that alone he usually can’t deduce why someone’s worried. His effectiveness in detecting lies is between Trucy’s and Apollo’s--he can determine when a person starts sweating, but he can’t pinpoint the exact phrase like Apollo
-Clay and Apollo’s abilities overlap, but they still synergize because Clay can tell when someone’s keeping secrets even when they aren’t lying/before they even speak. He uses other context clues to determine if a person is just socially anxious or lying through omission (though in the case of witnesses it seems they’re always hiding something,)
-His ability comes most in handy when observing a witness (to later be found as the culprit) listening to the attorneys discuss the case, because they’ll sweat if they’re not confident they can get away
-This means Clay often suspects the true culprit long before anyone else, and he always tells Apollo the moment he catches the scent. They both know Apollo can’t indict someone they just met without solid evidence, so Clay uses his ability to help guide Apollo’s line of questioning during cross examinations (if necessary) in order to uncover the proof they need. It’s like a scent trail
-ex.: “Hey AJ, the smell got stronger when Prosecutor Gavin mentioned the cause of death just now. Think there’s anything you can ask about that?”

idk if I'm going to ever write for it so I'm gonna put it here, my reborn Yatagarasu AU. I guess if I get a little encouragement I'll want to write it more but I have to get some thoughts out or I will explode.
It started because I thought Beanix and Kay should meet and do crimes together. I think they should fight corruption and be overly dramatic while annoying Edgeworth. I mean, think about it, in the first game, Phoenix's whole thing was exposing notorious blackmailers and corrupted officials and generally being unafraid of facing mob families when everyone else is kinda scared to take any action.
before the cut to so much rambling, I need to get one question out of the way so...
anyway, lore below, I just didn't want to put that under the cut where no one will read far enough to see it lol
That and he also has experience with eccentric thieves. Also, they're both named after mythical birds and named specifically to be silly with their dialogue ('Mr. Wright, right?' "Kay 'kay?'). I also just want a reason for them to pose as father and daughter and be able to pull it off perfectly.
Now for actual plot stuff, I am of the opinion that Phoenix has acquired some weird-ass skills that he uses in weird-ass ways, I mean in canon he has a talent for bluffing and he uses it to absolutely dominate at poker. So I'm thinking this guy, who hasn't risked his life in over a year, fresh out of leads to fight the case with his disbarment, needs enrichment. This comes in the form of Kay investigating him out of interest as his role of 'that man' and discovering that he's pretty neat actually. She looks at his case files and finds him silly enough to recruit for a new project.
The re-emergence of the Yatagarasu is directly correlated to the dark age of the law and the increasing corruption practically everywhere. The law makers and law keepers of Japalifornia ignore the truth for their own self interest and that is Not Good. Kay recruits Ema, who is interning at the police department and on her way to becoming a detective turned forensic investigator. She is also stem girl extraordinaire who wants to use her tech for good and not to help the police. Funded by Franziska (because the best use of Manfred's fuck you money is actively fighting the corruption he was a part of) the Yatagarasu plan to expose as much corporate and legal filth as possible. Because to build a new legal system, the other one must be destroyed a bit.
In comes Phoenix, who through past cases and his work at the Borsht Bowl, just happens to have a pretty good amount of criminal connections. He's inconspicuous, already kind of undercover, and he knows how to get people to talk. He's disillusioned with the law and settled into a character that requires him to convincingly act at all times. Also his daughter is a magician and I think it would be really funny for him to learn a little sleight of hand and how to use throwing knives only for him to turn around and use those skills for Crime.
In return for info and his help with the Yatagarasu project, Phoenix gets more assistance in his investigation into Kristoph, which makes it easier to keep him and Trucy safe. Also in this AU Kristoph is worse and more invasive and more willing to cause problems if he catches Phoenix learning too much. Every one of their shared dinners consists of Kris poisoning Phoenix's wine and them switching it until they're both confused and Phoenix ends up drinking it but survives anyway.
Another part of this AU that I would want to touch upon would be Phoenix's reputation outside of being a fallen famous lawyer. I think that his work getting multiple mob members, prosecutors, a police chief, and generally terrifyingly powerful people incarcerated would get him noticed by people. I like to think that he's trying his best to look pathetic and depressed but the whispers around him make him sound kind of terrifying and it's only because of that that he feels secure enough to take Trucy along with him to the bowl for poker matches. He also is trying to learn her perceiving power, which he can't do but he does get really good at silently communicating with Trucy to the point that they become a kind of terrifying duo.
I just... weird girl crime group (Maya is not allowed, she'll just get falsely accused of murder again)

First, cute style! Second, where do you get ideas for your characters and AU? What would you consider your inspirations (aside SaH)?
Thank you! Originally, I was quite scared to draw anthropomorphic animals because I have only really drawn humans (which is why my human drawing here is better haha).
Ideas and inspirations? Oh those are a tough questions, but I’ll do my best to answer!
1) The ideas for my characters come from characters I either used to have or do have or enjoy (from other medias). The ideas for my AU usually just pop in my head. I honestly don’t know how I made the story so far. I can’t even remember how I even started everything. I believe that initially I got an idea from a historical event and Inalwahs liked the idea of an intelligence agency and military police. The idea to mix them was because I genuinely wanted to do more than just the trio (Eunkyu, Siwoo, and “Haoyu”) arresting people.
2) My inspiration includes: Spy x Family and the Ace Attorney series. As well as the formation of the U.S. Army, U.S. Criminal Investigation Division, and the Mexican National Guard (recent inspiration).
Spy x Family: Yor Forger (Yor Briar) helped me with Eunkyu’s characterization and helped me with the idea of the Military Police also having a intelligence department.
AA series: Lana Skye was a huge inspiration for Chunhee . Trucy Wright and Maya Fey inspired Raon. Though, it also helped me want to have an antagonist to try to stop Eunkyu as they will investigate his crimes.
I hope I answered all the questions properly and this makes sense. Thanks for the ask!

Just a free idea(s) that anyone can use because I like making ideas - WrightWorth edition #2
Nice to see that I got a positive reaction from my previous Wrightworth idea [No DL-6 incident and Actor Phoenix Wright].
So, I made two more:-
1 -  Idea for any Wrightworth shippers here: Make a gag of Miles blocking ANY and EVERY way of interaction between Phoenix and Kristoph.
Like Miles and Phoenix having a flirty banter with the former near the office door, and he hears Kristoph approaching to give case files for Phoenix, so Miles closes the door on Kristoph while keeping a stone face.
2 - Haunted Mansion AU
[Warning that it contains death, betrayal, HEAVY ANGST with a happy ending. I put A LOT of thought into this ^///^;;;]
It starts with a story of the Von Karma mansion that was abandoned and haunted by two ghosts: one who is aggressive and unwelcoming while the other is the opposite. Rumors spread that they were spirits of lovers who died due to betrayal, hence why one of them is hostile and hellbent on scaring others away. But because they were both restless, those around them in this mansion are forced to also roam inside as spirits
That is what Trucy, Apollo and Klavier learned from Kristoph who had plans of selling the land to make profit, not caring that it would lead to the destruction of a historically haunting yet beautiful house. So, before that time comes, the three enter the mansion to investigate if the rumors were true.
Aaaaaand you know the drill.
The gist is that Miles tries to scare out the trio but Phoenix was hospitable and protective of them. Miles and Phoenix are lovers but they couldn’t remember how they died and why Miles had this hatred for Phoenix yet longs for him when they part. As for Phoenix, he too has that longing for Miles yet is DEEPLY insecure and closed-off to tell him so. There are other ghosts in the mansion who might help the three uninvited guests solve this mystery from the past.
But would they even have the time to reconnect before the mansion’s demolition?
All will be revealed till then, and after, they need to decide whether to remain on Earth for a little while or rest in peace.
Hope it’s interesting and you can change a bit if you want to use it. But do credit me for this idea as you use it; and you reply to this too, I like to hear your thoughts on this AU ^^ - Giftbox
Spoilers and backstory are under “Keep Reading”, contains betrayal, poisoning, mentions of cheating but not really, Manfred Von Karma, forgiveness, reconciliation, ascending and ghosts FINALLY resting.
Miles and Phoenix clearly love each other even after death, but these unresolved feelings along with such love MUST be there for a reason, right?
So here’s what had happened: Miles and Phoenix were childhood friends who grew apart after the murder of Miles’ father, Gregory. Manfred Von Karma took him in and it made Miles cut contact with Phoenix.
Years later when Miles was of age of adulthood, there was a masquerade ball that he hosted, and he was swept by his feet by a mysterious masked man who is none other than his childhood friend, Phoenix. They’ve spent time with each other in secret before breaking the news after they’ve eloped. This means that the Von Karma Mansion belongs to Miles and Phoenix too.
However, there was trouble in paradise, starting with the fact that Manfred and Franziska are still living with them. Manfred lies to Franziksa who in turn tells Miles that Phoenix was seen courting a woman outside the mansion grounds.
As for Phoenix, Manfred dealt with him personally by poisoning his wine and telling him that he was not worthy of Miles and would never be for he is just a peasant man with a weak mind that wants to see the good in everyone he meets, all in the same night. When Phoenix’s body was found, Miles didn’t cry in public yet in his empty chambers. It broke Franziska’s heart to see her little brother this upset, and even more heartbreaking when she found him death on his desk with the same poison given to Phoenix.
Upon hearing the first part of the truth about Phoenix cheating, Miles was FURIOUS at Phoenix and demanded to know what exactly happened, while the mansion was getting destroyed by Kristoph. While protecting the children, Phoenix reveals the other half of the truth, he would NEVER cheat on HIS husband, but he is guilty for not being the right man for him.
In the end after putting a stop to the demolition, Phoenix and Miles talked more. Miles confesses openly that he loves Phoenix for who he is and he’d love him no matter what, and Phoenix confesses that he’ll never break their vows and will always remain faithful to Miles, even after death.
Soon, they have a simple re-wedding where they recite their vows, and with that, peace was restored and they get to go to the spirit realm. Miles and Phoenix joked about going to hell but they give heaven to the other. That’s all ^^

I have so many dcmk crossover ideas but i am absolute dogshit at writing and grammar
So i'll just say them here and other people can bask in the glory of my good ideas (like 90% of these ideas are kaito centric lol)
--
Dcmk x ace attorney
Kaito and trucy are cool online magician friends
Eri has a court case against pheonix wright, Ran Conan and Kogoro somehow get involved
Dcmk x persona 5
Jii tells Kaito he needs a better support system. Which leads to Kaito investigating the phantom thieves of hearts because they seem cool and he wants to help them and be friends.. Shinichi gets involved (idk if he'd be shinichi or conan) and if it contiues to strikers Heiji gets involved when they go to osaka
Dcmk x batman
kuroba toichi was like distantly related to bruce wayne, so when batman has to go to japan for something relating to the league of assasins wanting a rock that supposedly grants immortality, he visits kaito aswell.
Dcmk x Sailor moon
literally just an au were like shinichi is sailor moon and kaitos tuxedo mask ( Ran Sonoko Masumi and Heiji are the other sailor scouts)
Dcmk x Lupin the 3rd
this is a low hanging fruit BUT FUCKING KAITO VS LUPIN PLEASE
or we could have kaito and lupin friendship
Dcmk x saiki k..
bro Shinichi and Saiki used to have the same english dub actor, and i just think saiki getting involved with a murder would be funny
Dcmk x saint tail
I just want kaito to interact with more phantom thiefs..

spoilers for ace attorney apollo justice under the cut !!
not too long ago i was re-playing apollo justice (because i had too much free time and no motivation to work) and then it just hit me how, since the beginning, trucy only tells what she wants people to know. like, right at the start of turnabout trump, when you examine the agency you find bits of dialogue that are interesting. for example, there's the spaghetti thing
Tumblr media
did she REALLY became a magician because she saw a spaghetti prop in a restaurant ?? and TOTALLY not because of her whole biological family that just happened to be a magician troupe ?? i get it it would've been too revealing to say everything right at the start (and also a bad choice) but she could've said something along the lines of
"i became a magician because my family were magicians ! i guess it's like some kind of hereditary thing !"
and apollo would've been like "(wait so mr.wright's family are magicians ? guess that would explain a lot)" or something. keep it vague just like how they did not mention trucy's adopted 'till the very end. but WHY conceal everything ? i hope you get what i'm trying to say.
there's also the photo of zak hanged around the office, which makes a lot of sense plot-wise that trucy says nothing about it (because then lots of the plot twists would've been erased) and only says he's her role model but it only accentuate the fact that since the start she only shows what she wants to show, much like phoenix (he doesn't say they have a symbiotic relationship for nothing anyways) and i guess it's just distrust and yeah maybe talking about your life to strangers isn't the brightest idea that you might have but the fact that she knows how to, conceal information and put up a persona so often that the only person that saw you cry is your father when you're just fifteen is just sad honestly (but maybe it's because i am a cry-baby x1000 and other people don't cry that much but oh well)
anyways i'm talking a lot of nonsense but i had three thoughts and i didn't want to bother my poor friend about it so YEAH all i wanted to say is that trucy was conditioned to only reveal what she was told to reveal and that she is probably one of the most intelligent characters of the show (she carried aa4 in my humble opinion) and it pains me to see that she gets reduced to the role of little sister or daughter SHE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

Hello! I’m participating in @ficwritersforreproductiverights to help raise money for organizations that protect reproductive rights! Send me a screenshot of your donation (AFTER removing sensitive personal info) and tell me which idea you would like to see me write! Which ever option has the most votes after Aug 7th will be the one I will do.
The voting options consist of one Ace Attorney oneshot idea, one Julie and The Phantoms oneshot idea, and three multichap ideas for a crossover between the two fandoms! Here are all the options:
1. Edgeworth Goes to Walmart (GONE WRONG!)
Yeah, that’s it. Crack taken seriously, background Narumitsu. I don’t have much else to say.
2. Carlos and Reggie Fantasy AU
Carlos and Reggie being brothers in a fantasy setting! Very fluffy, includes some fun worldbuilding and magic if that’s your thing! Might end up using this setting for something later...
3. Flynn Taylor: Ace Attorney
Rookie defense lawyer, Flynn Taylor meets three ghosts from the old band Sunset Curve that only she can see. With their help on investigations and in the courtroom, can Flynn figure out the mystery of the boy’s death while defending her innocent clients from demon prosecutor and old friend, Julie Molina?
JATP in the AA setting! Flynn as the protag, the sunset curve boys as her co-counsel, and Julie as the rival prosecutor! Will include Julie x Flynn, and probably some other gay ships.
4. Trucy and The Phantoms
After the death of her mother, Trucy has been unable to play or sing. But after looking through some of her mother’s things, three ghosts appear, one looking shockingly similar to a famous musician that died over 20 years ago. Little do they know, these ghosts are not only the spark that will reignite Trucy’s love for music, but also the key to several long lost mysteries...
Ft. Klapollo, bg Narumitsu, and possibly Franmaya. Will include Clay Terran somehow. Other than Apollo, I’m not sure who the other main ghosts will be yet, or even if I should include more ghosts in the main group or not (I’d love to hear some ideas). Klavier will not be part of the ghost band, but he is relevant.
5. Sunset Turnabout
Nick(JATP) is accused of murder! With the help of Wright Anything Agency, Julie’s ghost band, and her friends, proving his innocence should be easy, right? But there is far more to the case than meets the eye, including a link to the death of 3 Sunset Curve members, and much, much more...
A true Ace Attorney and Julie and The Phantoms crossover! A case fic including the entire JATP cast and as many AA characters as I can fit without it getting bloated. Takes place post JATP S1, and vaguely post AA6 after I match up the timelines. Got lots of cool ideas for this one.
--------------------
Whether you’re planning on donating or not, feel free to ask me questions about any of these prompts (or any questions about how the voting works and such) !
(Votes are counted by quantity, not value.)

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Mirrored Dimensions
This is a concept I had sometime in 2014 after the life altering mental break. My strange mental state attributed to coming up with a mirror AU for Ace Attorney in which everything was swapped.
In this AU Phoenix Wright has been plunged into a world where all his friends have become different people almost like his worst enemies. And his enemies have become more sympathetic where it serves the story. Not only are characters different but his life events are somewhat changed as well.
Characters: Phoenix Wright and the Judge are the only characters whose personality remains unchanged. Mia Fey is a corrupt defense attorney. She ran away from her duties within the Fey clan because she despised her family especially her sister, the golden child of her mother within the Fey Branch family. Not afraid to give horrible advice to achieve a not guilty verdict. Larry Butz, is Phoenix's tag along best friend. Larry harbors a great resentment for Phoenix over something that happened in school and uses Phoenix's guilt over it to gain things he wants from him. He has a long time high school girlfriend Cindy Stone they are in an abusive relationship and something happens between them. ( very suspicious that gets away with almost everything but has his moments ) Winston Payne is a prodigy prosecutor. He is a gentlemen who has earned his honor and respect through years of learning and growing. Frank Sahwit is a down on his luck neighbor, has a crush on Cindy Stone. After the Last Turnabout, Frank becomes friends with Phoenix due to losing badge. Internet blogger. Kristoph Gavin is a defense attorney privately investigating Grossberg and Fey Law practices for corruption (AA4 is otherwise irrelevant to Phoenix's journey) Kristoph has been given a tip from Maya Fey about Mia's underhanded tactics as her act of revenge on her sister pointing Kristoph to the right direction of Drew Misham's commission forgery work. Trucy gives Phoenix evidence of a forged diary page commissioned by Mia Fey herself from beyond the grave before the murder had even taken place in order to "help" Phoenix but this triggers the event Kristoph did but this time forward to point the finger at Phoenix Wright. Maya Fey is an ego maniac. She despises her family especially Mia. She is in the branch family and has sworn to her supposedly dead mother that she will become master of Kurain no matter the cost Dick Gumshoe is a no nonsense detective. He is intelligent and has a bitter hatred for his superior Miles. Marvin Grossberg is Mia's mentor, he has taught her many loopholes and tricks in being a defense attorney The Bell Boy hates his job and may or may not be a hired assassin April May is a very sad woman, she hates being taken advantage of. Isn't asking for it. Redd White A down on his luck business man. A man of very little words. Miles Edgeworth. A rookie prosecuting attorney. Phoenix, Miles and Larry were all friends but their friendships are very strained for various reasons. His father killed Manfred Von karma after tarnishing his legacy. He is a bit more out going but is more out for himself than pure justice. Will Powers is a hollywoood bigshot. Will do anything for money and more fame. Obsessed with himself. Oldbag is a kindly old lady working her job and speaks very slowly Cody Hackins is a pissed off super fan who wants to defame Will Powers for ignoring him at a con in the past. Penny Nichols is a overworked intern hates her job and wants you to go away. Jack Hammer is a struggling actor trying but a very kind optimisstic person. Sal Manella is a professional director Dee Vasquez is a caring and kind film producer Lotta Hart is very uncaring and quiet individual who only believes things if she sees them first hand/ Yanni Yogi was a court bailiff during the fateful DL6. Accused of killing Manfred Vonkarma in the court house. He has let by gones be by gones and would really rather not speak about it as his life has turned around for the better after playing the system. Manfred Von Karma was a hard working but not terribly experienced prosecuting attorney. He was killed by either Fransiska Von karma or Gregory Edgeworth. He was known to be kind and gentle. Fransiska Von Karma was in the elevator during DL6 instead of Edgeworth.
Misty Fey was the bargin bin channeling medium who used DL6 with the intention of gaining fame and recognition within Kurain. When the channeling back fired Mia ran away from home, Misty Fey ran with intentions in finding Mia. Maya is incredibly bitter over this. Misty Fey went on to realize she enjoyed life outside Kurain and became an adult romance novel writer. And the fact she was actually banished from ever returning after DL6.
DL-6 Incident On December 28th, 2001, Fransiska Vonkarma went to a trial with her father Manfred going up against Gregory Edgeworth. Manfred was able to prove that Gregory had tampered with evidence. At which point in time Gregory was be highly considered to be disbarred which inevitably of course he did. But not before a tragedy….An earthquake occurs after the trial. Inside an elevator Manfred, Fransiska and Yanni Yogi were stuck for a few hours. During a scuffle between Yanni and Manfred, Fransiska noticed Yanni's gun had fallen Yanni's belt. Fransiska in a desperate attempt to protect her father shot the gun at Yanni. The three lost consciousness soon afterwards. The bullet missed Yanni The bullet however ricocheted back into the door outside to Gregory's left shoulder. Gregory enraged picked the gun up and shot Manfred in the heart killing him. He fled the scene, and ran off from home after the horrible disgrace and he knew he was going to be disbarred. police investigated the murder, stumped went to a spirit medium. Misty Fey pretended to be a so called master of the channeling technique. Through the channeling Manfred Von Karma through channeling accused Yanni of the murder. The following trial Robert Hammond had Yanni Yogi plead insanity which got him off the hook. Fransiska testifies against Yanni as well. Fransiska was put in foster care. She never exactly understood what happened and lives in guilt and sadness. Eventually she does follow in her father's foot steps as a prosecutor hoping to discover the truth of DL6 eventually. She aligns with Kristoph Gavin hoping to bring down the corruption of the legal system in particular the criminal activities within the Grossberg and Fey law firms connected to DL-6.
