The Best Mistake

It’s an orphaned story which I have no idea why this person orphaned this magnificent story. AU OOTP where Sirius turns out to be Harry’s biological father. I mean, you sort of need to just go with the flow with how Sirius is the father, but like who gives a shit about details when everything else is chef’s kiss??

hey so like you have a lot of hinny recs and i read this fic a really long time ago and obv don't know it's name- so i was thinking if you have read it and like probably know it?

It was a very long mutli- chapter fic with pairing of Harry/Ginny and I’m not sure about the tropes here but it was major angst and post break up fic

I will summarize it for you as good as I remember: So it’s like Ginny and Harry break up post war, Harry goes to USA and Ginny is a quidditch player and she is unexpectedly (idk the name for the fanfic but I remeber exactly how it starts like she is making blueberry muffins ig and she has made a lot of it apparently and she just realizes she is pregnant) and well abortion is on the chart but she meets some healer and healer is healer and she denies and the father of the foetus is like on board with abortion and Ginny leaves him, meets Luna and Luna like shifts her to some town which is pretend haunted to keep people away from it- Luna is from the same town and she had convinced Harry to do the same but Ginny doesn’t know about i- Harry finds Ginny in the rain or smth and well its awkward and there’s a hell lot of reconcialtion, much later in the story and Harry sells Ginny his land in the town for like 2 sickle or smth and well they do get together later and it’s like a long charade where Ginny is awarded some prize and later also poisoned and she doesn’t tell anyone she is pregnant and loses some part of memory and she names here first child James for not really obv reason and well this is all i can remember!!

I remember that the both of them lived in a really mysterious place where Ginny had to apply for citizenship there and all the weasleys never knew (Ron's terrified of the place). The Fanfiction Recs No One Asked For

I wanted to make a list of all my favourite fanfiction so I can find them when I want to reread them.

ONE-SHOTS:

Patience is a Virtue, but It Was Never One of Mine by alrightamanda. An adorable and fluffy Hinny. A great read for a little smile, I absolutely love the writing of Harry and Ginny in this one. It's just too cute!

For the First Time by Junebug617. Not technically a single one-shot, but a whole bunch of Jily one-shots! They’re all adorable and sweet and I basically accept them as canon. I especially love Chap 10 *wink wink*.

New Heights by frombluetored, which I always forget exists until I stumble across it again and I remember how much I love it. It’s hilarious, it’s cute, and I love Sassy Ginny with all my heart. Post-War, Harry and Ginny get back together. I really love it.

THE LONG ONES:

Foolish by Tonksaholic. Longer than Order of the Pheonix, I first read it in less than 24 hours when I was recovering from midterms. Hinny and Romionie, it’s fluffy and cute but also super emotional and angsty. Gotta love Luna for making it all happen!

The King's Chronicles by WeasleyIsMyKing540. It's all of Harry Potter, from Ron's perspective, how insane is that? Currently in the early chapters of Deathly Hallows, it is still in progress, but if you started at the beginning I bet it will finish before you got that far, it’s got pretty regular updates.

The Changeling by Annerb. Slytherin!Ginny and it’s brilliantly written. As opposed to a lot of Dark!Anyone fanfics, this one is super well thought out and original. A little dark, but too good to not reread multiple times. [*sweats*]

And finally.....

Low key the best fanfiction I have ever read: Recnac Transferium (Part 1), Flawed Perfection (Part 2), and Full Circle (Part 3) by Celebony, who has several amazing pieces up on fanfic.net. This is a bohemoth of a fanfic series, just under 500k words total, but it is so good I keep going back to read it again, it is just so good! There is also an alternate ending, perfect for all your angst needs! Seriously though, it breaks your heart multiple times and you will never be emotionally whole again. [Trigger warning for abuse and some graphic violence.]

In conclusion.....

I need to stop reading so much fanfiction, but I definitely will do it anyway and will probably make another post when that happens! I hate myself.

I will die on the hill that Hermione is blergh. I’m so sick of trying to find a story and they’re all Hermione paired with everyone under the sun where she’s a Mary Sue. It’s so disappointing.

Currently, I am anxiously awaiting an update from The Path From You by takearisk BUT I also love their other AU one-shot which I originally linked below. SHE HAS TOO MANY GOOD STORIES THAT I GET CONFUSED!!

The Bureaucratic Error by Iniga is one of my all-time favorite AUs and I hate how they got so much hate for that story that they deleted it and then reposted it with reviews disabled. Sirius is beautiful in this and totally how I picture him in every single way, shape, and form. Harry is just a teenager who makes mistakes and is adorable. Remus is well-crafted and I want to hug him. The ending wasn’t quite what I expected and I disliked it at first, but I get the creative process and how they really went with their gut on the ending. The more I think about the ending, the more I appreciate it.

Foolish by Tonksaholic is so completely AU and OOC but it works so well to see this completely different little universe that I simply love it. Harry’s pain is palpable and Ginny is divine. Their relationship gives me the feels in this.

I know there are more but those three just really stick out in my mind right now.

And I also don’t think it would happen immediately if she ever did remarry. And she’d get her kids involved with the decision too

Definitely! It wouldn’t happen right away. I don’t think her remarrying when she thinks Harry is dead is something crazy either. It doesn’t diminish her love for him.

What you guys need to remember is:

1. I didn’t say I was writing this story

2. It’s an AU. There are plenty of AUs out there and this is a fun one to think about

3. One of my favorite Hinny stories is Foolish by Tonksaholic. It’s so AU and even OOC but I fucking love it. It’s fun and different. Part of the fun of AUs is reading characters in different situations as long as those two crazy kids wind up together. I LOVE how in Foolish, James isn’t biologically Harry’s and he loves that kid so fucking much.

Can love survive, no matter what someone does to destroy it?

I'm kind of surprised I didn't rec this ages ago. It's a super popular Hinny fic (see here, also). Foolish is highly angsty, featuring a blue pregnancy potion, a mythical utopia, and the sadly inauspicious nature of miscommunication. It's well-written, with good plot points and a clean writing style. The characters are pretty huggable, and the setting is... interesting. Oh, and forewarning: there's a court case. Some people hate all that, but there you have it. [scared-of-clouds said, Foolish is without doubt the single most frustrating fic I have ever read. You’ll be screaming at the characters, but it’s a good read.]
