Sorry this ask took a while to send, I've been busy deep cleaning the last few days! But in your other post you mentioned Monster High and Ever After High OCs/Self Inserts. I don't want to pressure you if you don'y want to ofc, but if you're comfortable with sharing them.. I'd love to know more about them!!

I don't know much about Ever After High myself. I watched a few webisodes on Youtube some time ago and then dropped it. But I've been thinking about picking it back up again because I love the fairytale setting. Plus the dolls look very cool design-wise! I think out of the character I've seen so far, Madeline might be my favourite :3

Also, do you perhaps collect any other doll lines? I also enjoy Living Dead Dolls, Bleeding Edge, Little Apple Dolls, ect. If you enjoy the gothic/alternative style of Monster High, I'd definetly recommend them!! Some of them are bit more gorey - but theres plenty of interesting characters.

Ever After High is a great doll line as well as a show with immaculate aesthetic and interesting concept. Personally, I still prefer Monster High over it, but I've seen people favour Ever After High because it has a serious main conflict that can be analysed on a deeper level. A lot of people tend to simplify the message to "rebels good, royals bad", but in reality, while rebels do end up being in the right, position of royals does make sense, their concerns are understandable and hold a certain weight, at the very least because the entire situation the characters are in is rather complicated.

Honestly, if we look behind the bright and pastel coloured fairy tale aesthetic, the way fairy tale society functions is borderline dystopian…

Anyways, I think I have more OCs here because with the whole premise of following or rejecting one's destiny as well as having characters represent different fairy tales, naturally, lot of ideas appear. And so my OCs are often just me playing with the possibilities of what kind relationship with their fairy tale roles different characters might have.

While she’s not my personal favourite, I respect everyone who likes Madeline, she’s pretty cool (I especially like her Legacy Day doll which is visibly inspired by Victorian fashion) Unfortunately, she often get reduced to a comic relief, but I believe she had much more to her character in books by Shannon Hale, which I didn't have a chance to read yet, but I’m planning on doing so.

By the way, I checked out the doll brands you listed, and turns out I already knew some of them. However, while I don’t mind gore, those are not exactly the type of dolls I’m interested in (mostly I just dislike child-like proportions). (Living Dead Dolls look pretty neat though) I guess I liked Monster High as fashion dolls specifically, and very elegant, elaborate and well-thought-out ones at that.

Aside from Monster High and Ever After High, I used to like Bratzillas. I know that some might say that they are just a Monster High rip-off, but even if they were heavily inspired by it, they were still good (well, I was simply excited to see another gothic fashion doll line). I’m still upset that the franchise was so short-lived and I wish I bought more of their dolls. At some point Once Upon a Zombie piqued my interest, but I got quickly disappointed in doll and animation quality.

Also I wanted to comment on your OCs, because I actually like your character ideas. I adore the pun that is Manita’s name, especially since it’s both a good joke and sounds similar to "manticore". I overall have a soft spot for characters that are man-eaters both figuratively and literally. Octavia is extremely cute, I think she’s my favourite here, and I would totally root for her and Twyla’s relationship if they were in a show together. Levi looks like an entertaining type of character, I wish I could see him (them?) in action.

I kinda want to bother you a bit more and ask about what kind of fashion styles your characters prefer wearing and what would be written in their “freaky flaw” part of the bio, but that’s up to you if you want to continue the conversation about OCs.

Anyways, going to my OCs. I must warn you, there's a whole lot of information. I feel kinda bad for not drawing them myself and using character makers to represent them instead, but depression is a bitch and so this is the best I can do currently.

So here are the character design concepts plus some notes I have about them:

Starting with my only Monster High OC who is also a self-insert. I still don't have a name for her, since I want it to be a pun like most of Monster High names are but I have no good ideas yet.

Heavily inspired by the song Necromancin Dancin by Bear Ghost.

She's a necromancer who was born in the middle of the 19th century and died young. However, in my lore necromancers themselves are undead as well and only “awaken” after their own death. And so the first dead body they learn to control is their own.

She actually started out as a villainous character who exploited other undead students using her powers, either to harm or to manipulate.

She has issues, okay? On the inside she’s just a cynical and hostile sociophobe with a “better be a bully than the one bullied” mindset, convinced that there’s no point in trying to make friends since everyone would hate her anyway.

Ends up going through a character development and redemption arc thanks to the power of friendship and acceptance because it’s Monster High we’re talking about.

She seems very cool and confident when she’s being mean, but she’s so painfully awkward when put in a friendly environment. She doesn’t know how to be nice, she’s afraid of making a wrong move and ruining everything again.

Has a good sense of humour, but it’s dark and sometimes downright rude or offensive, which often puts her in uncomfortable situations.

She’s adopted since her parents were regular humans and she long since outlived them. After their death another necromancer – who was her mentor – took her in.

Now this is Ekaterina Bayun, the daughter of the one and only Bayun Cat. She was sent to Ever After High to better get ready for taking her father's role, since she's the first ever person to replace the original Bayun Cat. Because her father is immortal, she's didn't have to do it and it was entirely her own decision, which made her somewhat famous in school, being that she’s the only fairy tale character’s descendant who was actually given a choice.

While Ekaterina counts as a "royal" simply by the virtue of choosing to take her parent's role in their fairy tale, her view on the royal vs rebel conflict is rather neutral. And if you ask her opinion, she thinks that humans of their world would benefit more from rebel’s movement than they would if everything stayed the same as it always was.

She's actually a big monstrous cat who is capable of transforming into a human-like form. She spends half of the time in her cat form and assumes human appearance when it’s more convenient.

Ekaterina takes villain classes since, while she’s not The Villain TM, she’s classified as a beast that usually antagonises heroes. Also she literally kills and feasts on human flesh and it kind of automatically puts her into “evil” category.

Very chill, very lazy, prone to sarcasm and snide remarks. Like every cat, Ekaterina subconsciously thinks of herself as superior to everyone else and doesn’t like following any rules she disagrees with.

She’s a great storyteller and a singer with low and slightly gravelly, but very attractive voice. However, she has to be careful with it as to not accidentally put the entire school to an endless sleep.

Ekaterina has got a creative streak and is pretty intelligent, so she’s also good at making up her own stories. Her favourite school subject is creative storytelling.

She couldn't care less about human etiquette or morality. She's nosy and impudent, and has a habit of wandering into places where she shouldn't be.

Mstislava The Wise – daughter of Vasilisa the Wise from “The Sea Tsar and Vasilisa the Wise”. Headstrong and prideful, she never wanted to accept the role of her mother, which is why her family sent her to Ever After High in hopes that she will be put in her place here and stop rebelling. But boy, if that wasn't the miscalculation of the century.

Mstislava is a hardcore russian woman – she will walk into the house on fire and stop the horse running at full gallop, looking fabulous while doing so. She’s talented and intelligent, and absolutely refuses to become an obedient and loving wife of some Ivan Tsarevich who will sit on his ass while she does all the work in their story, only to be denied credit later.

Just like all women of her bloodline, Mstislava is a powerful sorceress. She's a master of transfiguration who is closely connected to the forces of nature, plus she possesses an impressive collection of enchanted items. She's also implied to be not quite human.

She doesn’t actually hate being a princess, and she would love to become a queen, but she's willing to sacrifice her royal status for the sake of her freedom of choice... or just for the sake of making a point.

She threatens her family with magic or refusing to go home if they don't accept her wanting to write her own destiny. She either gets to become the queen on her own terms, of she will run away and become a wicked forest witch.

Despite how serious and intense she appears, Mstislava does have a mischievous side and sometimes uses her magic powers to play tricks on people.

Mstislava is good at poetry, but unlike what is expected of a princess, she’s a terrible musician. (And so Ekaterina proceeded to teach her how to rap to pass the Muse-ic class…)

She's hard-working, but she's also a night owl, so you can catch her angrily banging at the door where the party is going at night, complaining that they're disturbing her while she's trying to study.

She's actually Baba Yaga's distant relative, and Mstislava considers Yaga to be her role model.

Meowriel Savatier – daughter of the Puss in Boots. She's a natural born hero and a royal who is very excited about fulfilling her destiny, especially since her destiny is to be with and help her best friend Marquise de Carabas (she's in love with her but doesn't fully realize it yet).

She’s technically considered to be Marquise’s lady-in-waiting, but it’s not as obvious since they both treat each other as friends and equals, with Marquise being especially considerate, even though Meowriel herself still goes out of her way to please her.

She doesn't have many close people, but she's an incredibly loyal friend, even to the point of selflessness.

Meowriel is bold, energetic, and resourceful. She seems to be in high spirits all the time, having a plan for any occasion and never giving up.

She's an incredibly persuasive and charming opportunist.

She takes hero classes and is the best in the Dragon Slaying class, where she uses cunning tactics to succeed instead of trying to rely on brute force.

She's an example of a royal who is actually selfish. She genuinely wants to fulfil her destiny which will give her and her beloved Marquise a happy ending, while the rest of the royals and rebels can rip each other to pieces for all she cares.

She doesn't mind rebels, but only as long as it doesn't affect her own story. However, if someone in her story tries to rebel, she's willing to force them back into their role by trickery and manipulation.

Because every character cast needs a cheerful French with a bob cut and a sinister side.

Once I actually get to drawing her myself, I hope to make the design of her boots much more elaborate, since they are her character's signature piece.

Marquise de Carabas – daughter of the miller's youngest son from the story of the "Puss in Boots". Marquise wants to be an active character in her story and she's worried about her best friend having to do all the work for her. She feels that it's unfair that she doesn't have to do anything while Meowriel alone ensures their happy ending.

She's a bit spoiled, but I wouldn't say that she's entitled. More like she's not used to hard work and discomfort, all her life she didn't even have to lift a finger or deal with serious problems herself.

She loves art in all of its forms, so she wishes to keep living an easy and lavish lifestyle so that she could dedicate her time and effort to it.

She's not particularly skilled at writing, drawing, or singing but she doesn't let it stop her. She's got a good sense of aesthetic and yet unexplored theatrical talent. Also she's a great violinist.

She considers the possibility of rebelling, while she secretly tries to find the way to prevent her story from even starting. Just like in the case of Ashlynn Ella, Marquise is destined to lose her royal status and fall into poverty for her story to begin, and in the end she’s going to have to marry to become a princess again.

She has serious issues with having to marry a "designated" person as a part of her destiny, especially since she still didn’t even have a chance to meet them. She’s the type who can only fall in love with someone she already shares a deep bond that lasted for years, and there's exactly one person like this in her life...

However, seeing how excited Meowriel is about following her destiny, Marquise wonders if she should just give in to make her friend happy. After all, in their story they will stay together for ever after anyways, so it shouldn’t be that bad..?

Maybe it's because she's so observant, but Marquise can easily spot acting or lies. Bad acting irritates her.

She doesn't fully trust anyone except Meowriel because she's the only one who is always honest with her.

By the way, I'm still only figuring out her character, since she was recently revamped in design and I started over with her personality. I'm also currently thinking about possibly changing her name.

Hua Li Ming – daughter of Hua Mulan, raised both as a capable warrior and a perfect lady. She's torn between wanting to honour her family, both like her story and fairy tale society tells her, and being absolutely terrified of having to bear such responsibility and spend 12 years at war.

She's noble and prideful, so on one hand she considers it a honour to become the next Mulan. On the other hand, she hates herself for being reasonably scared and unwilling to fulfil her destiny.

I imagine it will get revealed when Darling Charming tells her that she's lucky for getting to be a warrior instead of a damsel in distress, causing Li Ming to snap and go into a full-blown "you know nothing" tirade.

Actually has to deal with the pressure of being both a soldier and a lady. It's not like she was given an opportunity to choose one or even reject both.

She's a royal who desperately wants to rebel but still can’t let go of the thought that it's somehow beneath her.

Everyone around her constantly going on about how she would make a perfect Mulan doesn’t help.

Soft-spoken but firm, knows her own worth.

Known for being well-mannered and highly disciplined, Li Ming is a pleasure to work with and is considered to be a great company.

This showcases her level of self-control, and unfortunately it also means that she’s used to repressing her feelings, especially negative ones, which doesn’t do her any good.

Does meticulous work like weaving and sewing to calm herself and sort out her thoughts.

Li Ming studied combat and the art of war ever since her childhood. She likes it all in theory, but she'd rather not have to use it.

Instead of serving her country as a soldier, she wishes she could prevent the war before it even starts.

How To Fight Writers Block

hello, hello. hope everyone is doing well. as you can all tell, this post will be about how to fight writers block.

it’s really annoying to me when I hear people say “oh you don’t have writers block, you’re just lazy.”

first of all, yes, I am naturally lazy. second of all, how dare you. writing isn’t as easy as many think. granted, all you have to do is write down words on paper, but it’s not always easy to find the right words to express what you are feeling, or what you wish to say.

I have had terrible writer’s block for the last few days and it’s horrible! as a business owner or a small writing store, I have to be ready to write and fulfill my clients’ ideas and orders.

it’s not easy. It takes a heavy toll on my imagination, and digs me a deep pit of blockage, drowning in the lack of originality because of the constant writing and repetition or certain phrases and sentences in different projects.

i am making this post in the hopes to remind myself about over coming the dreaded and sometimes skeptically believed writer’s block.

What is writer’s block?

Yeah, I know. We all know what that is, but let me define it.

is the state of being unable to proceed with writing, and/or the inability to start writing something new

some people believe it to be a real problem, others believe it's “all in your head”

What Causes Writer’s Block?

in the 1970s, clinical psychologists Jerome Singer and Michael Barrios decided to find out

they concluded that there are four broad causes of writer's block:

Excessively harsh self-criticism

Fear of comparison to other writers

Lack of external motivation, like attention and praise

Lack of internal motivation, like the desire to tell one's story

How to overcome writer's block: 20 tips

1. Develop a writing routine:

Author and artist Twyla Tharp once wrote: “Creativity is a habit, and the best creativity is a result of good work habits.”

it might seem counterintuitive

if you only write when you “feel creative,” you're bound to get stuck in a tar pit of writer's block

The only way to push through is by disciplining yourself to write on a regular schedule. It might be every day, every other day, or just on weekends — but whatever it is, stick to it!

2. Use "imperfect" words:

A writer can spend hours looking for the perfect word or phrase to illustrate a concept

You can avoid this fruitless endeavor by putting, “In other words…” and simply writing what you’re thinking, whether it’s eloquent or not

You can then come back and refine it later by doing a CTRL+F search for “in other words.”

3. Do non-writing activities:

one of the best ways to climb out of a writing funk is to take yourself out of your own work and into someone else’s

Go to an exhibition, to the cinema, to a play, a gig, eat a delicious meal

immerse yourself in great STUFF and get your synapses crackling in a different way

Snippets of conversations, sounds, colors, sensations will creep into the space that once felt empty

4. Freewrite through it:

free-writing involves writing for a pre-set amount of time without pause — and without regard for grammar, spelling, or topic. You just write.

The goal of freewriting is to write without second-guessing yourself — free from doubt, apathy, or self-consciousness, all of which contribute to writer's block. Here’s how:

Find the right surroundings. Go somewhere you won't be disturbed.

Pick your writing utensils. Will you type at your computer, or write with pen and paper? (Tip: if you're prone to hitting the backspace button, you should freewrite the old-fashioned way!)

Settle on a time-limit. Your first time around, set your timer for just 10 minutes to get the feel for it. You can gradually increase this interval as you grow more comfortable with freewriting.

5. Relax on your first draft:

Many writers suffer form perfectionism, which is especially debilitating during a first draft

“Blocks often occur because writers put a lot of pressure on themselves to sound ‘right’ the first time. A good way to loosen up and have fun again in a draft is to give yourself permission to write imperfectly.” — editor Lauren Hughes

perfect is the enemy of good,” so don't agonize about getting it exactly right! You can always go back and edit, maybe even get a second pair of eyes on the manuscript

6. Don’t start at the beginning:

the most intimidating part of writing is the start, when you have a whole empty book to fill with coherent words

instead of starting with the chronological beginning of whatever it is you’re trying to write, dive into middle, or wherever you feel confident

7. Take a shower:

Have you ever noticed that the best ideas tend to arrive while in the shower, or while doing other “mindless” tasks?

research shows that when you’re doing something monotonous (such as showering, walking, or cleaning), your brain goes on autopilot, leaving your unconscious free to wander without logic-driven restrictions

8. Balance your inner critic:

successful writers have in common is the ability to hear their inner critic, respectfully acknowledge its points, and move forward

You don't need to completely ignore that critical voice, nor should you cower before it

you must establish a respectful, balanced relationship, so you can address what's necessary and skip over what's insecure and irrelevant

9. Switch up your tool:

a change of scenery can really help with writer's block. However, that scenery doesn't have to be your physical location — changing up your writing tool can be just as big a help!

if you’ve been typing on your word processor of choice, try switching to pen and paper. Or if you're just sick of Google Docs, consider using specialized novel writing software.

10. Change your POV:

great advice from editor Lauren Hughes: “When blocked, try to see your story from another perspective ‘in the room’ to help yourself move beyond the block. How might a minor character narrate the scene if they were witnessing it? A ‘fly on the wall’ or another inanimate object?

11. Exercise your creative muscles:

Any skill requires practice if you want to improve, and writing is no different! So if you’re feeling stuck, perhaps it’s time for a strengthening scribble-session to bolster your abilities

12. Map out your story:

If your story has stopped chugging along, help it pick up steam by taking a more structured approach — specifically, by writing an outline

13. Write something else:

Though it's important to try and push through writer's block with what you're actually working on, sometimes it's simply impossible

feel free to push your current piece to the side for now and write something new

14. Work on your characters:

It follows that if your characters are not clearly defined, you’re more likely to run into writer’s block

15. Stop writing for readers:

write for yourself, not your potential readers

this will help you reclaim the joy of being creative and get you back in touch with what matters: the story.

this is something I really need to do. because of my etsy business i don't write for fun anymore, but instead as a business and a deadline. i'm going to have to pull out my old crappy wattled fanfics or write some new ones.

16. Try a more visual process:

when words fail you, forget them and get visual. Create mind maps, drawings, Lego structures — ideally related to your story, but whatever unblocks your mind!

17. Look for the root of it:

writer’s block often comes from a problem deeper than simple “lack of inspiration.” So let's dig deep: why are you really blocked? Ask yourself the following questions:

Do I feel pressure to succeed and/or competition with other writers?

Have I lost sight of what my story is about, or interest in where it's going?

Do I lack confidence in my own abilities, even if I've written plenty before?

Have I not written for so long that I feel intimidated by the mere act?

Am I simply feeling tired and run-down?

once you identify what's wrong, it'll be so much easier to fix.

18. Quit the Internet:

If willpower isn’t your strong suit and your biggest challenge is staying focused, try a site blocker like Freedom or an app like Cold Turkey

19. Let the words find you:

meditate, go for a walk, take that shower

Word Palette is a great app that features a keyboard of random words, allowing you to simply click your way to your next masterpiece.

You can also try AI auto-completers like Talk to Transformer, where you can enter a phrase and let the app “guess what comes next.”

even though they often produce nonsense, it's a great way to help that writer's block.

20. Write like Hemingway:

And if your biggest block is your own self-doubt about your prose, Hemingway offers suggestions to improve your writing as you go

it's a pretty cool app if you ask me.

it highlights your sentences (if need be) and makes suggestions on how to improve them!

well, there you have it! a lengthy post on how to fight writer's block. now i just hope i can combat my own soon.

February Schitt’s Creek Fic Round-Up

Okay this officially marks my SECOND round up, please applaud for me remembering to do this a second time! We have had SO much amazing fic this month, 400 in total in this month alone, and I wanted to share ten of my complete favourites, in no particular order:

1. we’ll get together then, dad by @doingthemost

I have to kick off the list with this one. It’s just incredibly written, so perfectly characterised, and sweet as hell. Johnny’s voice is perfect, Alexis’ voice is perfect, it made me so so warm and happy (especially from the perspective of the second gay child in my family), and deserves to be read by every single person on the planet.

2. I Will Be Here by @trueillusion82

This one was just so heart wrenching and perfect, it chronicles David’s first depressive episode after meeting Patrick and is just full of sweet moments and so so much love and affection, I adored it!

3. Valentine’s Day is for Lovers by @middyblue

Ahh this one is just so so so ridiculous and sweet. The whole town (and more) end up giving David a Valentine present because Patrick is out of town this year, and he goes OFF about it being a ROMANTIC holiday. It made me laugh, and it made me so so happy!!! A must read!

4. Sounds of Pleasure by @grapehyasynth

Okay this is just the best thing you’ll read all week. It’s got all the pining and mutual affection you could ask for, plus is super 🔥 and in general is just completely unmissable! If you haven’t already read it please please do yourself a favour and take a look!!

5. take me to the stars, just say “oh” by @Coeurire

A trans!Patrick fic written by a trans author!! It deserves so much more attention for the impeccable character profile and the details of his experiences which I haven’t personally seen written before, and is just a really beautiful piece. I highly recommend!!

6. she’s all over me by @samwhambam

Okay so I am still new to the Twyla/Stevie train but I can honestly say this author single handedly converted me. It’s slow going catching up, but this one is so so so 🔥, like seriously, no joke, and I’m obsessed with it!! Definitely definitely a recommendation if you’re looking for more F/F fic!!!

7. Lost in a Dream by @asoftplacetoland26

THIS ONE IS SO SOFT!! David and Patrick have regular zoom calls with the whole Rose family joining every week, but David can’t stay awake through any of them. This author is of course exceptional in general but this is just one of my very favourites, I read it like 10 times and will definitely be reading it again!

8. that could be a start by @5ambreakdown

This one is a kind of rewrite of one of the scenes in the Olive Branch. It’s just so sweet and funny, something I had never really considered but always wanted to read, and so so well written!!

9. i’d take my puppy everywhere by @hullomoon

Y’all KNOW I love a meet cute and this is the absolute CUTEST of the meets. It has puppies, and neighbours, and awkward flirting and is the absolute most adorable thing I have possibly ever read. Legitimately, it gave me cavities in the best possible way. Go and read it.

10. Roses and Tide, by @fairmanor

PIRATE FIC, it’s got SEA SHANTIES, it’s got SWORD FIGHTS, it’s got SEXY LESBIANS. That should be enough but honestly it’s also gorgeous? Like stunningly written (as with everything fairmanor writes) and so so incredible.

I would just like to mention that I have discounted any fics in the Season 7 fest even though they were all AMAZING, just to give everything else that came out a fair shot!

Rec Roundup – March 2021 #1

Hi gang & welcome back!

Though the Schitt's Creek fandom hit 6000 fics this month (crazy, right?!), it's been a quieter month on the rare ship & gen front. Many writers are resting from @scseason7 as well as gearing up for @sctropefest, though, so we're expecting more goodies soon to come! Rec [written by samwhambam]: (Before I say anything, I want to clarify that the title does not refer to the awful term a ‘gold star lesbian’, but to a joke made in the fic about like, gold star stickers.) You had to know this one was coming. Listen, I LOVE awkward first times in fics. I love when newly out characters fumble their way through queer sex. This fic is hot, and sweet, and you just are hit in the head with how much they like each other and want to experience this all together. MAGNIFICIENT.

Love That Journey For You by cringeisalivelmao, Patrick & Alexis, G, 1304 words

Summary: Alexis needs advice, Patrick needs to be honest, Genovia needs a princess

Rec [written by yourbuttervoicedbeau]: Schitt’s Creek AND The Princess Diaries would have been enough to reel me in anyway, but then Patrick & Alexis hours, aka my favourite thing?! Incredible. This fic beautifully depicts what Patrick and Alexis’ post-canon relationship might look like, and it warmed my heart!

1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?

Maisie Eleanor Barker. I just thought it was really cute, but later realized I subconsciously named her after Maisie the mouse, a cartoon character who was a big part of my childhood. Maisie means “pearl,” Eleanor means “bright shining one,” and Barker is an occupational name for a tanner of leather!

2. Do they have any titles? How did they get them?

Still unclear on the title thing, but she does become a Professor.

3. Did they have a good childhood? What are fond memories they have of it? What’s a bad memory?

Her childhood was subpar. Her aunt doesn’t really give a shit about her so she was lonely, but once her Hogwarts days started, things got infinitely better. Her favorite childhood memory is probably the day she met her great aunt Celestine. A bad memory would be the Broom Incident in her second year, which involved Fred Weasley and a hex gone wrong that they don’t really talk about anymore.

4. What is their relationship with their parents? What’s a good and bad memory with them? Did they know both parents?

Her parents died when she was about three years old. She doesn’t really remember them.

5. Do they have any siblings? What’s their names? What is their relationship with them? Has their relationship changed since they were kids to adults?

No siblings, but her cousins Aurelius and Everard might as well be. Aurelius and Maisie are a chaotic duo, while Everard mellows Maisie out. They’ve been pretty tight since she was eleven. (also, Oliver Wood is like a brother figure for Maisie. He is quite fond of her but definitely scolds her like a brother.)

6. What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?

Maisie was good at every subject except Potions. She blames Snape. She did finish, even though she wanted to leave with the twins, but couldn’t if she wanted to be a Professor.

7. Did they have lots of friends as a child? Did they keep any of their childhood friends into adulthood?

Yes and yes! Maisie met all the important people in her life when she was eleven and never let go of them.

8. Did they have pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals?

She got an owl when she was eleven, named Twyla. She loves her with all her heart. Maisie loves animals!

9. Do animals like them? Do they get on well with animals?

Yes! Maisie really has a gift with animals. Magical creatures tend to flock to her.

10. Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?

Maisie loves children and children love her! She does have children, a few years after she and Fred get married. She’s the Fun Parent, but can discipline when need be. She’s an obnoxious grandparent/babysitter because she spoils her friends’ kids and let them get away with more than they should. No one really asks her or Fred to babysit unless it’s a last resort.

11. Do they have any special diet requirements? Are they a vegetarian? Vegan? Have any allergies?

Nope!

12. What is their favourite food?

Anything cooked by Molly Weasley.

13. What is their least favourite food?

Most leafy greens.

14. Do they have any specific memories of food/a restaurant/meal?

Any meals she’s had with the Weasleys, they’re typically unforgettable.

15. Are they good at cooking? Do they enjoy it? What do others think of their cooking?

She’s decent, but Fred is better. She does enjoy it! Her friends enjoy it as well, but it’s nothing to write home about.

The Reason Why I Loved

When I read the description of the show, I was so intrigued. I was so excited to start this show. It sure as hell was one of the best sitcoms ever made!

The show revolves around a family, the Roses, who lose their wealth and are forced to move to a small town which they bought as a joke, Schitt's Creek. Johnny Rose buys this town as a joke for his son David Rose's birthday ( Fun fact : The father-son duo played by Daniel and Eugene Levy are also father-son irl and produced the show!)

Alexis Rose is my favourite character from the show. From the first season she kept up with her charming, exhilarating persona. The show definitely showed her growth beautifully. How she evolves from deciding to finish school, get a degree and work is so amazing. She also evolves emotionally and this was evident from her relationship with Mutt and Ted in the beginning and her relationship with Ted in the later seasons and how mature she was with the break-up. The writing is so amazing that I didn't want Ted and Alexis to be together in the initial seasons but in the later seasons when they decide to end things, I was brought to tears. The best part of her character is highlighted in the last season when she refuses Twyla's money and her overall relationship with Twyla. And can we all just talk about her fashion? What a diva!

David Rose. One of the best characters written for TV. The acting just deserves an Oscar! David's character is so special to me. I felt for him when he realised how bad his life in New York was and he is much happier living in a small town. David's relationship with Alexis is honestly the best part of the show. I love how they're so open and support eachother through everything. Just thinking about their relationship makes my heart warm! That's literally how every brother-sister relationship is and I've never seen something so real and pure on TV. Stevie and David are the kind of best friends we all need, how they just roast eachother and help eachother through everything is so beautiful :')

I'm a firm believer in destiny. I believe we're all destined to meet whomever we come across in our lives. It was destiny that brought Patrick into David's life. After Patrick everything turns for the better for David. I love love love their relationship! Sometimes we just have to wait for the right one :') It's so heartwarming to see Patrick become a part of the family. David Rose's character is also one of the first openly pansexual characters in TV. His coming out to Stevie with wine reference was just brilliant!

Another beautiful relationship is what Stevie and Jhonny had. They were more than just buisness partners. Stevie looks up to Johnny, he's almost like her father-figure in the show. He helps her grow and find her passion in life. No matter how much Jhonny denies it he has nothing but love for Roland! Gotta love their bromance or whatever that is lol. Stevie-Jhonny-Roland is the trio we thought we never needed!

The reason why I loved this show so much was the writers did not compramise any of the characters by portraying richer the meaner; poorer the humbler. This was very evident with the relationship of the jazagals and how they were very happy for Moira for all her successes, they just accept her for who she is. The characters were true to their backgrounds, it was simply just a show about love, like how Alexis says, money can put a smile on your face but not buy happiness! and how even at your lows your family can help you get through it like it was nothing. The Rose family would definitely not have been as close as they were by the end of the season if it wasn't for the bankruptcy.

The finale was also one of the best finales ever seen on tv.

Ending this with Alexis's nose bop just to make your day even better!
