For your kiss asks -- #12 Zolf/Sasha, #39 Grizzop/Sasha, and/or #20 Tjelvar/Sasha if you're up for any of that 🧡🧡🧡
20 Tjelvar/Sasha: On a scar
Tjelvar, shockingly enough, liked things that were beautiful, things whose intrinsic value was from more than their construction. It was about context as much as it was about the material itself.
He kissed Sasha's hand, kissed the finger that wasn't there. She was still so devastatingly talented with those hands, still able to take anything apart and put it back together.
Sasha was attractive in a way that small and slight humans generally were not. She was durable, she had endured. She was quick and cunning, but that wasn't always enough to protect her from the consequences of her actions.
re-listening to bertie's side-quest and like. the party is two large armored human men and an orc. that snow leopard must've been starving to have gone after them
[Image description: Digital fanart of characters from the Root Special, aka BenQuest, from the Rusty Quill Gaming podcast. It depicts Tjelvar, Grizzop, Zoya, and Zolf in anthropomorphized animal forms. The fanart has watercolor and pencil textures.
Tjelvar is a raccoon with a small white scar on his muzzle. He is wearing a white shirt, a blue cape with a gold clasp, and a black waistband. He has one hand held to his chest and a slightly devious expression.
Grizzop is a short brown-and-white weasel. His is wearing a silver breastplate with straps on it, which hold his bow and quiver. He has both hands on his hips and is grinning widely.
Zoya is an extremely tall wolf with unnaturally read fur. She is wearing a white-and-grey fur cloak and a brown vest. She has her eyes half-lowered in a calm, slightly smug expression. She is standing behind the others.
Zolf is a badger with a small braid hanging off the end of his chin. He is wearing a large brown leather coat and a yellow shirt. He is standing with his arms crossed and has an grumpy expression on his face.
while it’s still hot off the presses have some benquest doodles
ID: a coloured sheet of six drawings of the rusty quill gaming benquest characters. all of them are woodland animals. zolf is a badger with a beard and a scar on his head, tjelvar is a raccoon with a scar on his mouth, grizzop is a pale grey weasel with huge ears, zoya is a bright red wolf with pale yellow patches around her face and on her tail.
1. zolf is curled up asleep in a dark teal jumper, his head resting on his bushy grey tail. 2. from left to right: tjelvar, zoya, zolf and grizzop walking along, all on two kegs bar zoya. tjelvar is in a black cape with a brown bandolier and reaching down to something at the side. zoya is wearing a brown sleeveless jacket and blue leg wraps and looking concernedly downwards at zolf, who is walking grumpily holding his glaive in a silver breastplate, blue coat and grubby white leg wraps. grizzop is stood stiffly, slightly behind zolf. his hands are hovering by his chest, his ears and tail stood up, he is looking off to the right. he is wearing a brown chest plate, brown wrist wraps and green leg wraps. 3. tjelvar facing the right, wearing his cape and fingerless gloves, reaching out for a black pouch on a table, a mischievous smile on his face. 4. grizzop with his paws together, his red eyes narrowed slightly and smiling so his teeth are visible. his ears and tail are sticking up, his tail looking frazzled 5. zoya stood, body pointed to the tight, head facing the viewer. her orange eyes are looking intensely forward, she has an easy smile on her face. she’s wearing a purple sleeveless top 6. zolf looking up amusedly at cel, who is an otter speaking animatedly with purple eyes and white patches of fur, wearing a multicoloured armour vest and a brown leather coat. their hands are gesturing as zolf stands next to them in a breastplate and blue coat.
Now this is BenQuest. I loved the whole special, but these last few minutes were pure gold. Who cares about in-universe justification, Wilde GMing for Zoya, Tjelvar, Grizzop, and Zolf is everything I wanted. The fact that they spent the entire time insulting each other is just a bonus.
I’m finding something about the Root special very nostalgic, in a way I can’t quite put my finger on.
It’s something about Grizzop being alive, but wrong; pre-established characters becoming brand new again as they’re broken down to their bare essentials; pasts influencing morals and moves and decisions without actually being lived; interactions between people who have never and will never actually interact; how these people will only exist in this way for a moment, trapped forvever in a single story; something about we’ve done this before, but I was someone else, and so were you, and I don’t remember anything in detail, only that we’re meant to do this, we were made for this, even if this time it doesn’t feel quite right.
Something about how it’s perfectly reasonable for this to be a flicker of a dream, a past life, a story Harrison Campbell tells to his niece and newphew. Something tying together people who only have one thing in common, and don’t even know it.
(title blatantly stolen from the Roof of Glass tags, thanks Miri!)
It's the fic writers that got me hooked on this ship and I will go down with it at this point. Thank you all.

This book y'all. So I started this book back in July. Had it pretty much ready to print, and lost half the file. The folks over on the @renegadepublishing server got me excited about it again the other week and in the process of rebuilding it, I found a backup! So it's FINALLY printed and on my shelf.
This collection more than any other I've worked on is very interconnected. Most were either written "for" someone or inspired by another work, which is what I find so special about fandom and this one in particular. Thank you for being so wonderful.
Now that it’s all through, here’s some of the pieces I did for Whumptober! I chose to theme them around an AU I’m involved with with a bunch of friends, so they probably don’t make a ton of sense together without context, but I thought they might be appreciated anyway! I won’t be posting all thirty-one here because that’d be a long post, and many involve blood/injury and/or mature themes that I don’t feel like fighting with tumblr over. If you’re interested, I’ve got them all posted on AO3 (I have the same username everywhere)!

Summary:
Tjelvar was frozen, still standing in front of Edward. His hands on Edward's shoulders were their only points of contact. Edward was keeping his hands clenched at his sides. Edward didn't trust himself to move away from the wall. It had to be Tjelvar's decision.
