Titans 4x04
SPOILERS AHEAD
READ AT OWN RISK!!!!
Let's dive in, shall we?
-I can't tell if Dick is in complete denial or he genuinely is scared of everything going on since he's completely out of his element. He's always used to being the guy who can fight villains with his fists, but now he's facing a situation where he can't do that. Hell, even Connor is struggling against this new foe.
-Dick's attitude towards Kori worries me; the vision and the music from the jukebox...These are obvious signs of Kori's destiny and Dick is adamant that they should graze over it, and that it's nothing to worry about. But man, I am WORRIED.
-I just love how the Titans just pick up strays along the way. Sebastian being their newest edition, beside Jinx, but I'm really invested in his story. His interaction with Rachel was interesting. You can see there is a connection there already, even before we discover he is her "brother".
-I'm unsure how I feel about Connor and Jinx, I'm gonna let that one ride out on its own.
-Tim being the ultimate fanboy will always be my favorite thing about him. If I were in his position, I would probably be spitting random facts all the time about heroes too.
-Not us going back to the asylum?! Kori ad Dick are responsible for members of the Organization escaping, especially Mother Mayhem?!?! There are points in this series where I just don't understand how it all makes sense, but this fucking moment threw me to the floor. Are you kidding me? We just connected back to season 1!!!!
-Sebastian's backstory is honestly heartbreaking. There was so much to unpack there that I don't think I really can break it all down, so bare with me. From my understanding, Trigon's heir/child that would fulfill the prophecy was to be a daughter. But then Mother Mayhem had Sebastian, which made him not be the prophetic child Trigon spoke of. So she was no longer relevant to him and eventually found Rachel's mother. But what confuses me is: Did mother Mayhem do something to make Sebastian the chosen one? Did her influence create him to fit into Trigon's prophecy? If someone wants to clarify this for me, that would be great. Or I could just go back and watch the episode again.
-"Super Super Mart" is this the DC version of "Spirit Halloween"? Old buildings turning into Super Super Marts lol.
-Zombies...I didn't think I would be writing this sentence in regards to Titans, but I guess I am. Kori's powers malfunctioning in that moment is very interesting. They were the only thing that worked against Mother Mayhem's powers two episodes ago, but against the zombies, they hardly flinched. What does this mean? Do this have to do with the book and the red moon?
-Oh, oh the fucking children's book. First off, the illustrations were great. Second, the meaning behind the illustrations is worrisome for sure. Kori will die, Sebastian is the chosen one, and the Titans will fall. And this is to happen 8 hours from now. 8 fucking hours!?!?
-Also, again. Titans has some weird obsession with not having accurate ages for these characters. You're gonna tell me Sebastian is 25 years old?!?!?! I'm literally a 26 year old and when the screen said 1997 I had to do a double take to understand another weird age has now entered the chat. No one, and I mean NO ONE, on this planet can convince me that Joseph Morgan can pass for a 25 year old man. There is no way.
-It was great to see Deathstroke again, I hope this isn't that last of him. Even thought he's a zombie I still have a soft spot for that unhinged maniac.
-I'm really curious to see what will happened to Connor. I think he vomited up that serpent because of Slade stabbing him with that dagger. But it makes me question: does Mother Mayhem now have some sort of connection to Connor? or is it simply him being a Super and their weakness to magic?
-The last scene at S.T.A.R. labs really brought it home for me that we are in a The End era. There is no ways around it. It was a 100% a rewrite of Teen Titans and the scene where Robin takes Raven to the special containment are for her 16th birthday. But in this case, Benard leading Rachel and Sebastian into hiding to ride out the red moon. It's all coming together and I'm ready for next week!

Skibidi Toilet Recap
Tumblr media
I thought Skibidi Toilet sounded like sewage when I first heard about it. Then I watched the first 20 episodes and saw the light. This series is a masterclass in exposition and pacing. We learn something new in each video.
There is a man’s disembodied head in the toilet. His name is Skibidi, and he sings the Skibidi song while making geometrically impossible expressions with his face.
We see miniature dancing people outside an elevator. An elevator...full of urinals. We discover Skibidi has friends who sing acappella with him. One of them has green hair.
There is a massive Skibidi in a moving toilet the size of a small office building. He sings in slow-mo audio because he is a BIG BOY, and he crushed a human without even noticing.
Some Skibidis crash a fancy restaurant. They are actively invading the city, not just oblivious. Also this episode reaffirms that BIG BOYS are always surrounded by smaller Skibidis who accompany them like hype men.
We see tanks and helicopters, so we know the government is mounting a defense. A defense against what, you ask? The flying BIG BOYS who spew smaller Skibidis out of their mouths. In case their malice wasn’t obvious, the Imperial March song is also playing to make it extra obvious.
There are people dancing. It’s unclear if the Skibidi’s song is compelling them to dance or not. But we see the POV character - yes, apparently we have a Protagonist - flush a Skibidi down the toilet. The Skibidis can be vanquished! A bunch of other Skibidis burst in to avenge their fallen comrade. Apparently Skibidis have a sense of comradery.
There are a bunch of men marching down the street. Men with security cameras for heads. I’m calling them the Cameramen. They are marching towards the Skibidis, who are racing down the other side of the street. Also a Skibidi attacks the Protagonist because they hold a grudge.
The Skibidis have erected a golden toilet monument in the park. They have conquered enough of the city to replace our heroes with their own likeness. Protagonist kills two nearby Skibidis, then spraypaints a red camera logo on the monument. Security Cameras are no longer the tool of oppressors. They are the sign of rebellion. We know this because a bunch of Skibidis in cop hats immediately come to arrest the protagonist.
The Skibidis have created a church. A BIG BOY in a halo sings the song of his people in a divine tenor. Then some Cameramen come in to attack. The BIG BOY eats one of the Cameramen, but the others flush him down before he can kill again. The Cameramen give Protagonist a thumbs up, proving that he’s not just a fan, but an active member of the rebellion.
We see other species of Cameramen, such as the flying Projector and a giant with a vintage camera for a head. The opposing army has a demon BIG BOY with a horns and a voice so loud the ground shakes.
The BIG BOYS can shoot yellow lasers out of their eyes now.
Oh God the Projectors come in spider mode now. And they have turret guns. They aren’t as strong as a BIG BOY’s lasers though.
There’s a Berserker BIG BOY who moves extra fast and will steamroll his comrades if it means he can kill the Cameramen.
We see a squad of Skibidies. There is one Skibidi in a brown toilet, but most are white. A Cameramen lures the squad down the street with his sick dance moves. Protagonist then blows up the street from his hideout on a building roof. A Skibidi pushes Protagonist off a building. By now it’s obvious Protagonist is like a cockroach - he won’t die.
Protagonist put a camera (or disembodied Cameraman head) in a toilet. He sends the toilet-camera into a Skibidi base, but they recognize the imposter right away. They kill the spy, then send a jumping Skibidi after the protagonist.
Some Cameramen are spying on some BIG BOY politician. They set up a flying laser to assassinate the politician. The rest of the Skibidis destroy the rebel laser, then immediately come after the Cameramen with BIG BOYs in spider form. It’s obvious they copied the Spider Projectors seen in episode 12.
One of the larger Cameramen has destroyed the Skibidi monument in the park and is yanking Skibidis out of their toilets. Apparently there are two ways to kill a Skibidi now. Then we see a massive, kaiju-sized cameraman punt some BIG BOYS into a building with his foot. Kaiju Cameraman gives Protagonist a thumbs up. He is the new hope of the Rebellion.
This is only the first FIVE MINUTES and we’ve already got more story and worldbuilding established than some TV seasons.

Yoooo Happy Birthday to Kingdom Hearts and to the sweetest silliest goodest boy 🥺💖
Still a WIP but I really wanted to get something out for him! He deserves the world!!!
I only recently began playing KH. It was always on the list of “Things I Know I’ll LOVE to Bits Because It’s Got Everything I Love But I Am Putting Off Until I’m Ready To Commit™️” but thanks to needing to clean my room and some certain YouTube videos a couple weeks ago I finally started playing and I have noooooot stoped thinking about it!

Attack on Titan Season 1 Recap (1-13)
This is for my friend @teenwithautism for she has been very busy and hasn’t seen the rest of S1 yet. So I have this up as a quick recap for her so she won’t forget.
For a hundred years, what was left of humanity were secured behind three walls, until the Colossal Titan broke a hole in Shiganshina and allowed the titans in. Eren had to watch his mother get eaten by one and vowed to kill every last Titan there is.
Eren, Mikasa and Armin later joined the training corps to learn how to become soldiers, that’s where they met new friends/comrades:
Jean, Marco, Connie, Sasha, Christa, Ymir, Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt.
All of them trained for three years until they were ready to graduate and choose their rightful regiment to join, until the Colossal Titan strikes again, this time in the Trost District. Eren, Armin and a few others attempted to kill the invading titans, only for most of them to get eaten - including Eren who saved Armin from death.
Mikasa meanwhile saved townspeople from an abnormal, had her flashback on how she met Eren, and overheard the news on Eren’s death. She was understandably depressed but continued to fight, until she discovered a titan fighting back against other titans. Her, Armin and Connie made it back towards the armoury.
The other cadets made it to the armoury as well, and took out the invading titans thanks to Armin’s great strategy. Marco then gives Jean a speech on how great of a future leader he can be despair what Jean says about himself (my boys!), then they all notice the strange titan fighting back.
After the titans were killed by it, the titan dropped only to reveal that Eren was inside it all along. Mikasa and Armin were both relieved and confused, alongside everyone else. Was it really Eren that did all of it?
-
Meanwhile, outside the walls, veteran scouts were busy killing titans. One of them being (the fan fav) Levi, he and his squad alongside Hange did their best to slaughter most of the hoard but ended up losing a comrade in the process.
Back at Trost, Eren woke up and was confuse why the Garrison were surrounding them. Armin and Mikasa tried to defend him but the captain Kitz demanded for Eren to be eliminated immediately, for he is a titan and he and his friends can’t be trusted.
Armin finally stood up and shouted out how Eren’s titan powers could help them retake back Trost, many of the Garrison were convinced but Kitz was too overwhelmed with fear that he still gave orders to kill them. That’s when Commander Pixis showed up.
Later, commander Pixis got everyone’s attention and shared the news of Eren’s titan powers and Armin’s plan: Eren’s titan will use the giant boulder in the city and carry it all the way to the hole in the wall and block it. Everyone was giving the order to protect Eren while he proceeds, Mikasa was assigned to the main squad to backup Eren if anything goes wrong… which of course it did.
For out of nowhere, Eren in titan form attempted to punch Mikasa. Is she okay? Of course she is, but she received a permanent scar on her cheek. While she attempted to snap Eren out of it, she punched himself which knocked himself out. The Garrison noticed this and calls the plan a failure.
Armin wouldn’t give up on his friend though. He penetrated Eren’s titan body with his blade as to get Eren to wake up - Eren himself was trapped inside his own world.
Meanwhile, everyone else of the cadets were having trouble to kill the remaining titans in the city, Jean especially. But once Eren finally snapped out of it, thanks to Armin, he lifted the giant boulder and slowly made his way towards the hole. Everyone did their best to project Eren from the titans - sadly some had lost their lives in the process. The sacrifices weren’t in vain though as Eren successfully plugged the hole in Trost, the mission was a success.
Two days later, the city was still being cleaned up from dead corpses and blood…. one of these said corpses Jean found was none other than Marco (NOOO! 😭) he had no idea how Marco ended up dead, nobody did.
Eren suddenly woke up and found himself in a jail cell, watched by Commander Erwin and Captain Levi. Erwin informed him that he’ll be taken into trial about his Titan powers but he’ll be standing for him, as he believes he can be useful for humanity’s survival. Eren had no choice but to go along with it.
Will everything turn out for the best for Eren?

Season 1, Episode 2, “Hawk and Dove”.
Joy.
Tumblr media
We are introduced to Hawk, AKA Hank Hall, who is already captured and being tortured! Listen, I don’t often side with torturers, but he probably deserved it.
Dove, AKA Dawn Granger, saves his ass and then we get a gratuitous bathroom shot because Alan Ritchson is hot, and also to show that the superhero life fucks you up, kids.
I’ll be honest, I don’t really understand what their plan is here? They’re taking out arms dealers and stealing the money for themselves until they have enough to “retire”. Dude, you’re both in your 30s, just get a normal fucking job that isn’t destroying your body and mind, maybe?
(This is a recurring theme with these two. They talk about quitting, one of them goes back on it, they fight, they make up, they talk about quitting… It’s a whole thing.)
Dawn is so pretty, fuck me.
Tumblr media
She rescued him and plays nurse afterwards? Dawn, honey, he does not deserve you. He can't even fuck.
Flashback time, and Dickie-boy is hanging out with the Bad Kids against Batman’s orders. (I say “Kids”. All of these people are in their twenties at least. And, also. This is four years ago, but in s2 they say the og Deathstroke stuff is four years ago. Don't think to hard about the Titans timeline, good lord.)
DO LIKE; the fight choreography here! Dick is all flippy acrobat but Hawk and Dove are like pro fucking wrestling lol.
DO NOT LIKE; this weird fucking love triangle, and I use the term “love” extremely loosely. Poly supremacy man, you all have bird names and a shit ton of fucking issues, you could all be each others problems instead of inflicting yourselves on others <3
(oh my god, I’ve only just hit the titlecard. This episode is *so* long)
(Or maybe it's just that I find it incredibly boring.)
Tumblr media
I'm sure that's not relevent
Dick is taking Rachel to Hank and Dawn, so he calls Alfred for some money to… pay them to keep her?
(on a related note, there is such a frustrating interesting dissonance between what we are told and what we are shown in this show. We are told Dick has a rep for being great with kids, but he doesn’t really know what Rachel should be eating or watching at her age, and he tries to get rid of her the second he can. Rachel says she’s not a kid, and then the very next scene is her sprawled out on the bed surrounded by snacks. Rachel says she can tell when people are lying, but her "Mom" was lying to her her whole life?)
Tumblr media
I’m trying really hard not to get too bitter too quickly here, but god the difference between how Dick treats an upset Rachel to how he later treats an upset Jason makes my heart hurt :(((
Oh, The Family are fucking creepy okay. It’s the heteronormativity.
Dick is a terrible fucking liar, omg.
Rachel: You’re gonna leave me too, aren’t you? Dick: Dick: Dick: Dick: No.
Dick introduces Rachel to Dawn, Rachel gets a little sneak peak of their former sex life as a treat. Awkward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahaaaa
“I’m outta the life,” Dick says, like he didn’t put the Robin suit back on like. A day ago. (another tell vs show)
I do love when people say Dick’s name like the insult.
(Unfortunately, it’s Hank being an insecure macho fuck over Dawn “Sure, I cheated on you with him before, but it’s not like I’d do it again how dare you not believe me” Granger. They’re so unhealthy, fuck. And the manufactured melodrama is so bleugh.)
The Family ambush and torture Amy, and she somehow tells them where Dick is despite him literally never telling her. Because plot.
Tumblr media
Astute readers may have noticed I'm not a big fan of Hank but idk folks, I just think maybe it’s a little tasteless to make a “pants off” joke (TWICE) about a character that has long term trauma from repeated childhood sexual assault :/
Okay, fuck, Dick is already making me work for that body count list.
OKAY.
He castrates the torture guy, stabs another guy in the eye with a birdarang and drops a guy from the ceiling. I’m pretty sure they’d all live, if be permanently disabled. BUT. The last guy, he throat punches and then hits in the head so hard with his own gun that there’s a huge fucking blood splatter on the window, so I am counting that as a half-kill.
Tumblr media
I’m OuT oF tHe LiFe - Dick Grayson (definitely not wearing the Robin suit again. Nope.)
Ah, more meledorama.
Rachel finds the money and Dick’s custody arrangement letter. She is not happy about it. She shows Hank, who isn’t ever happy about anything.
And then The Family show up to kidnap Rachel, so problem solved I guess?
[More Titans Rewatch here :D]

Toonami Weekly Recap 09/09/2023
Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 (The Rumbling Arc) EP#29 - The Final Chapters (Part 1): Chapter 1 - The Rumbling: The Rumbling continues, with the Colossal Titans killing countless people, including Ramzi and his brother and Grisha's parents, and destroying civilizations all over the world. Meanwhile, the ship carrying the scouts and warriors arrive at Odiha. Thinking her father is already dead, Annie decides to stay behind on the ship with Gabi, Falco, Yelena, and the Azumabito, while the remaining warriors, scouts, and Onyankopon take the flying boat to stop Eren. The next day, just as the group are about to take off, Floch, having survived the battle at the port, damages the hull of the flying boat before being killed by Mikasa. However, before the flying boat can be properly repaired, the Rumbling arrives. Hange appoints Armin as the next commander of the Survey Corps before going up against the Colossal Titans alone, buying the others just enough time to get the aircraft off the ground. Hange is welcomed to the afterlife by Erwin, Moblit, and the other deceased scouts. They assure Hange that the duty as commander has been fulfilled.
Chapter 2 - Sinners: En route to Eren, the scouts and warriors discuss plans to confront him, with Armin still believing in a peaceful resolution. During their conversation, Eren suddenly brings them into the paths dimension, explaining that in order to stop the Rumbling, they must kill him. He further elaborates that he will not take away their freedom to do so, just as he has the freedom to keep moving forward with it. Back on the ship, Falco reveals to Annie that his Titan might have the ability to fly. Many refugees from Liberio, including the Warriors' families, escape to Fort Salta, a Marleyan base. As they arrive, they see a number of airships launching an assault on Eren and his Titans. However, the airships are quickly destroyed by the Beast Titan, which materialized on Eren's skeletal form, leaving everyone utterly hopeless. Just then, the flying boat arrives and the scouts and warriors jump from the aircraft. Pieck and Reiner transform, with the latter managing to pin the Beast Titan down. Armin calls out to Eren, asking what about him is free.

Just watched the first episode of Fantasy Island (aka the sequel series to Mondo TV’s animated Titanic movies). The immediate first things I notice are the sheer difference in animation style (they’re using 3D models here instead of 2D, though doing a similar thing to Kirby: Right Back At Ya and designing them to look like 3D models) and the *vast* difference in dubbing. AKA it’s somehow a worse dub.
The first episode acts as a semi-recap of the movies, meaning you get to hear these new actors voice the same scenes we’ve seen before, only with a lot more (I presume) fake Italian accents going on. Honestly the movies had better dubbing and that’s saying something.
I am looking forward to where this series can possibly go from here on out, because the movies were already maximum weird, and truth be told the intro sequence promises us even more weird.

AOT *spoilers ahead
My opinions on the ending…
Tumblr media
Long time no see! I finally watched the last two episodes of AOT and let me purge the unshakable “whyyy!” I feel about AOT’s ending.
So, the credits begin to roll and I think, it’s not so bad. It makes sense. It’s simple. I strangely understood it all. Then, I think, the dialogue sucked. Especially eren and armin’s conversation, reiner’s last remark, and mikasa’s last quote. Then, I’m in a crisis, was all of this just for that? For eren to die to make his friends heroes (which is totally out of character by then), for armin to say he’ll go to hell with him and thank eren for genocide but then surviving just fine and suddenly doing peace talks, and mikasa still hung up on eren ‘til the end? There was no development in armin nor mikasa’s character as foils and eren’s character (even other characters, like reiner) was straight up butchered in the last few chapters/minutes of the manga/anime.
Couldn’t the characters have been more complex? Have more development? It would’ve been nice to see that they were struggling with ptsd, finishing up their ties with the whole ordeal, or possessing some conflicting feelings about how the situation panned out and is currently after three years. This story was realistic in the way the situations were, but the execution and the characters were highly unrealistic and half-assed. I don’t really see anyone talking about levi and zeke’s ending, but in comparison to their prominent narratives and contributions their ending was so dull (like many others). My additional problem with zeke was that armin motivated him to help their friends win this fight and he did so easily… then just died. It’s like isayama knew the only way to end this was to nerf some of eren’s power, but he sacrificed zeke’s character in the process. Also… eren pretty much died for nothing by the end. There is still war.
I’m also very surprised that the war plans in this story were more complex than the actual ending. And let me get this out of the way, “only Ymir knows” is turning into a meme and I believe it isn’t one of the main problems of this story. It makes sense because everything was up to mikasa in whether or not she was going to kill eren. Ymir saw that she did, breaking the chain of obedience, but also saw the kiss, and learned that there is love even in that choice.
I get isayama added so much to this story that every little thing was hard to keep track of by the end, but plot holes— or rather, things that just need more explanation— are so immense (like that worm thing).
I even argue that some aspects of this story were unnecessary (or could’ve been less complicated) if he was planning on ending the series like this all along (maybe gabi and falco’s whole dealio?).
But, my biggest problem is this. What in the world was isayama trying to convey with this whole story?
Love…war…hate…no, nope, there is nothing. He’s conveying nothing, at least nothing compelling and not confusing.
It’s hard to make out the overarching theme because there is no major force of evil or good that prevailed or lost, or no sense of logical closure from any character, and everything just seems like a stale portrayal of a “meh” reality (kinda? the “reality” isn’t so consistent throughout). If that was the goal from the beginning, discussing the complexity of human morality in reality, then I’d take it. But nothing was solved in that way, things were brushed over, and there wasn’t a huge (sensible) shift in the perspectives of the audience (and I don’t think eren’s sudden turn to friendship was a sensible shift). Isayama randomly made eren the mastermind, a “savior” for his friends after killing 80% of humanity, but really… friendship? After all that characterization from good to evil to then he was good all along and prioritized his friends the most? We know that’s not true. I see it’s hard to make out a different outcome without reconstructing a bulk of the story but it’s such a cop out.
The ending is what makes a story. There is no story if there is no ending. I think AOT will be remembered for having a controversial ending rather than it’s eminent qualities, which is both sad but also just on isayama. This isn’t any hate towards him, but he can’t just produce a story that readers raised him into fame and return the favor with a dry ending that divides the people—the fandom.
*these are only my opinions and if there is any misinformation feel free to educate me on ur perspective :)

Attack on Titan Season 1 Recap (14-)
Once again for @teenwithautism as the previous post was becoming too long. Hope you don’t mind.
Not long after, it was time for the trial. Section Commanders Hange and Miche brought Eren into the courtroom and wished him luck, then Eren was chained to a pole and surrounded by angry people, aside from Erwin, Levi and his friends Mikasa and Armin.
The judge Premier Zachary arrived and the trial began. On one hand, Commander Erwin suggested for Eren to join their ranks in the Scouts as Eren’s titan powers can help in the battle for humanity’s survival, but on the other, the people including the MPs were demanding for Eren to be put to death. Seemed that they were winning their argument, until out of nowhere, Levi started beating up poor Eren. This was to demonstrate that he would be able to control him if Eren were ever to go out of line - it’s Levi so I’ll let it pass. Zachary finally agreed to let Eren go but as a part and watched over by the Scouts, mainly by Levi that is.
Later when Eren was tending to his wounds, Hange stepped in to see the gap in Eren’s teeth where Levi kicked out one of them. But to her surprise… it already grew a new one. How is this possible?
