Hi! IDK if this is an incorrect vibe cheque rec/ if it's been recommended before but I recently caught up on the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir and both the general aesthetic and writing style *and* several characters in the second book in particular struck me as very much youcore and I'd heartily recommend it! Also in case this *is* a book you've been recommended before adding a juicy dream deet that I found out I had a nightmare a few years back which stole my violin playing skills and I'm very miffed abt it. Hope you're having a lovely day!

I have heard of this series but I've never checked it out before! will have to give it a look, I'm always interested to see what characters people think I'd like lol.

and man, do you mean in the nightmare someone stole your violin skills, or when you woke up, they'd been stolen? either way that sucks. I literally developed OCD because of a nightmare so yeah. those things can do a number on you.

So, the photo i posted a while ago of vendetta in the tank, that was apart of sherlina’s “Revbot project” or whatever. Apparently, while vendetta was being created in the tank, his AI split somehow into two. HP took his emotions, and Vendetta kept his thinking. They’re both really unstable because of this

In the end, they were going to fuse back into one person, and Norman and Gig were going to dispose of him.

Saw your most recent answer vis a vis names and thought I'd chip in, as someone who has no particular attachment to names-it's possible that it's because I have a very laid-back approach to identity in general, but for me a name is just a secondary descriptor-similar to how you can call someone tall, or dark-haired, or any other manner of attachment. Like I have a name-I even have nicknames that I can hear and identify with more easily-but I have no actual attachment to it-Timur can just as easily be replaced with any other name and I'd still be just fine, and in fact I have tried going by different names just to see if it's just a case of me not liking this one and they all had the same lack of effect.. There's a running joke in my family that I got assigned a blank space instead of a name, since the story is that it came down to two names and my parents picked the one I got out of a hat and when they first started calling me by it I didnt react nearly as quickly as a child apparently should, but I dont know if there's any particular truth to that. Hope this is somewhat comprehensible! Or barring that, vaguely entertaining to read.

that makes a lot of sense, actually -- it's how I feel about the various names I go by. obviously I have my Top Secret True Name, but that doesn't really factor into my life because I nevee use it. nicknames and other aliases come up a lot more often, but they're very interchangeable for me and sometimes I don't even have one that I vibe with; I just kind of see a blank spot where my name is. other times, I'll have several names I'm quite happy to go by, and sometimes I'll have one particular name that I vibe with so much that it's briefly my Real Name (but not my True Name). very rare Real Names last more than a year or so for me, though.

honestly baffles me that there are people out there who genuinely think your name has to be your name, forever. it used to melt my head as a kid because I'd always want to go by different names, but everyone would be like "nooo but that's not your REAL name!!" like bitch first of all if I say that's my name that's my name and second of all none of your business and third of all my true name cannot be gazed upon by mere mortals so why don't you sit down.

nowadays the people I know are just changing their names left right and centre and I'm like fuck yeah rock on.
