Ranboo brings up such a good point about c!Wilbur lying about the afterlife. While we know time is fucked bc cc!Wilbur made it canon, the characters have no clue. honestly, I'd argue it makes more sense for Ranboo and the others to doubt Wilbur's words rather than believe him straight up. I mean, They have zero proof that Wilbur isn't the same guy who blew up L'Manburg. For all they know, he could have spent less than a day in limbo before Dream revived him...

Okay WANDAVISION THEORY TIME
I’ve thought this for a very long time (like, since Endgame) but I think it’s extra relevant now considering information from the newest episode. I don’t think Vision ever fully died. Or well. He died, but he wasn’t gone. Remember how Wanda has powers because of experiments done on her with the Mind Stone? Remember how Carol Danvers also has powers from the Space Stone, and how they didn’t just go away when the stones were all put back? Yeah. So. Anyway.
When Wanda used her powers to destroy the Mind stone - the SOURCE OF HER POWERS - I think she subconsciously USED her powers to both A) absorb all the Mind Stone’s power, essentially becoming a new-ish vessel, and B) preserve a backup copy Vision’s mind in herself. And considering the fact that absorbed infinity stone powers don’t just go away when the stones are replaced in the timeline, I have to make the assumption that power transfers like that are impervious to the retcons of the time stone. Meaning when Thanos killed Vision, Wanda still had all that power (and a copy of Vision’s mind) laying dormant within her.
Something else that’s interesting is the knowledge that the time stone and the mind stone didn’t just give the Maximovs Mind-related powers - Wanda’s typical abilities more closely resemble the Reality Stone, and Pietro’s more closely resembles the Space Stone. And Wanda appears to have some time-related abilities as well. We can assume that the infinity stones are all somewhat linked, but I might get to that later.
We all know that Wanda is using these abilities to rewrite reality - to make the Hex, to resurrect a version of her husband, to make her idealized fantasy sitcom life. I still don’t think she’s the one who started it all, but maybe she is and just doesn’t realize it. All that power has to go somewhere, and after all the emotional turmoil of losing several loved ones, she might have acted subconsciously. She stole back Vision’s body (most likely to protect her husband from being used as a weapon against his will), and either went to or was brought to Westview. The first intro shows Wanda and Vision driving into Westview, so I think the Hex existed before she went into it and took control. I think Vision is’t a corpse anymore, but rather... a mechanical ghost, his saved mind inhabiting a reconstructed/rebooted version of his body. His body was created with the same atoms, but it is no longer in the same state. Just like how Monica’s rockin outfit is still technically bulletproof kevlar, even though it is in a different shape now.
Because it would make more sense for Vision to be a recreation rather than just a reanimated corpse, I also don’t think Wanda’s visions of corpses are real. I think that’s her personal trauma bleeding into her perception of this reality. Especially since Vision’s body was completely disassembled when she stole it back, and thus would look different from her vision of him, and the fact that this Pietro isn’t really her Pietro, so it wouldn’t really make sense for him to be a walking corpse with the exact same wounds as her brother.
This would also explain why Vision is different from everyone else. Everyone else is under the influence of the mind stone, but Vision IS the mind stone. He’s too closely connected to those powers to be manipulated by them. He’s like, the eye of the storm
The only exceptions I can think of are Billy and Tommy. She can’t control them either, and they know a lot more than she expects them to. I think that maybe creations of the Mind stone - new minds - can’t be manipulated by it. In that way, they really are a chip off the ol’ block.
I don’t really really know what else is going on here - weather Vision and the twins can survive outside the Hex, or if they need to be in close proximity to the New Mind Stone (Wanda) in order to survive - weather this is Mephisto’s influence like in House of M, or if there’s something else going on here and Marvel has different plans for the MCU - if Wanda will eventually take over the world for herself and her family, or if the Hex will dissipate, leaving behind scattered remnants of an altered reality to influence the rest of the MCU. But I do think that Vision, the Twins, and Pietro are real, alive, and themselves.

Thoughts : WandaVision [Disney+, Episodes 4-6] (2021)
Tumblr media
After a heavily stylized trio of opening episodes, WandaVision has officially put the pedal to the metal with its next trio of episodes.  The connections to the larger MCU have been firmly identified and established, which has generated a mountain of new questions, speculations and assumptions about where WandaVision, and in turn, the MCU as a whole are headed in the next few phases.
Editor’s note : This show is jumping in quality from episode to episode, and based on the response to the last blog entry on WandaVision, I am considering giving the final 3 episodes their own entries.  If the likes on this blog entry surpass those of the previous WandaVision entry, I will do dedicated breakdowns of the final 3 episodes on the date that they are released.
THE STORY THUS FAR
Tumblr media
Episode 04 : We Interrupt This Program In the wake of The Blip, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) is returned to the hospital where she once sat by the side of her mother’s side.  Upon returning to reality, Monica learns that Maria Rambeau has passed away due to cancer while she was gone, which devastates her to no end.  Monica returns to S.W.O.R.D. in hopes of finding peace, but she is immediately thrust into the mysteries surround the town of Westview, New Jersey.  CIA Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) meets Monica outside of Westview, where he clues her in on his missing witness that was once in the town, as well as the anomaly of amnesia that has taken over those in the surrounding communities.  Monica and Jimmy approach the city only to discover it is covered by a mysterious invisible barrier, and while inspecting the barrier, Monica is pulled in.  S.H.I.E.L.D. calls in the Army, the FBI and a number of specialists in various fields, including astrophysicist Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), who stumbles upon a mysterious signal that allows those outside the barrier to view the events within in a sitcom format.
Tumblr media
Episode 05 : On a Very Special Episode... Wanda and Vision are doing their best to adjust to raising Tommy (Baylen Bielitz) and Billy (Gavin Borders), but find themselves overwhelmed until an overly enthusiastic Agnes steps in to help.  While Vision questions Wanda on the recent strangeness, Tommy (Jett Klyne) and Billy (Julian Hilliard) suddenly jump to the age of ten, further confounding Vision.  Outside of The Hex (a nickname for the anomaly surrounding Westview coined by Darcy), S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to gather intel and ramp up efforts to collect information in the wake of Monica Rambeau’s return, but after an attempt to communicate to Wanda directly goes awry, Wanda presents herself directly to  S.H.I.E.L.D. with a warning to stay away.  Vision has an encounter with Norm (Asif Ali) that causes him to reach his breaking point, and while he is confronting Wanda later that night, a knock on the door reveals that Pietro (Evan Peters) has somehow returned... but something is different about him...
Tumblr media
Episode 06 : All-New Halloween Spooktacular! It’s Halloween in Westview, and the Maximoff family is preparing for a night of fun and adventure.  Tommy is excited for all of the candy he will be collecting, but Billy finds himself concerned with a number of issues, chiefly the surprise emergence of Pietro onto the scene and the troubled waters flowing between Wanda and Vision.  Wanda attempts to gather the family for their night out, but Vision states that he has obligations with the Neighbor Watch, which disappoints Wanda.  Pietro offers to step in, and his mischievous influence leads to Tommy and Billy’s discovery of their powers.  Outside of The Hex, tensions are running deeper between Agent Rambeau and Agent Hayward, and as a result, Hayward expels Rambeau, Jimmy and Darcy from the camp.  The trio manages to sneak back in, and while Rambeau and Jimmy head to meet a colleague of Rambeau’s who can assist them in entering The Hex, Darcy breaks into Hayward’s digital files, uncovering a goldmine of shadiness.  Vision, using his Neighborhood Watch story as cover, attempts to investigate the outskirts of Westview, but after breaking through the outer wall of The Hex he finds himself being literally torn apart as he is pulled back in, all in front of the eyes of Hayward and his team.  Billy picks up on what is happening, and in a fit of desperation, Wanda makes a move to save Vision that drastically alters the entire scenario surrounding The Hex.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
Tumblr media
Beyond The Trailer YouTube Channel
Tumblr media
New Rockstars YouTube Channel
I was unfamiliar with Beyond The Trailer prior to Episode 03 of WandaVision, but the discovery of the channel has provided me with sharp insight, as well as a bit of humor, and Grace Randolph is the only creator to my knowledge that is providing live reactions on episode premier dates..  New Rockstars and Erik Voss continue to mostly knock their analysis of the show out the box.  Oddly enough, however, I have found myself pulling back from the YouTube camps of speculation as the series progresses.  This is not a shot at any of the YouTubers that are dedicating their time and attention to the show, but rather a testament to the skill with which WandaVision was crafted, and the compelling mystique it has generated on its own.
THOUGHTS ON THE SHOW In all honesty, I have no idea how this overarching story of Wanda, Vision, the town of Westview, Monica Rambeau and S.W.O.R.D. are going to resolve themselves, and I couldn’t love that fact any more than I already do.  The amount of detail infused into this show is insane : the way that the aspect ratio continues to shift depending on the “reality” we are viewing is a stroke of simple genius, the use of CMBR waves creating a television signal is a very subtle subtextual reminder of what it was like to take in entertainment prior to the advent of streaming, and the amount of Easter Eggs being dropped would put the Easter Bunny to shame.  Just when we think we’ve got things figured out enough to hazard a guess, we are thrown monumental curveballs, and the whole while characters like Darcy, Jimmy Woo and Pietro are asking the same questions we are as viewers.
Tumblr media
Wanda Maximoff had been using a very restrained, comical version of her powers up until this group of episodes, but now that her Chaos Magic has revealed itself, many are speculating that she may actually be the antagonist of the series, rather than the protagonist.  It is clear that Wanda is controlling the majority of the Westview anomaly with her powers, but certain occurrences such as the birth of Tommy and Billy, their sudden aging or the appearance of the X-Men Quicksilver denotes that someone else is pulling strings that impact Wanda’s reality as well.  It is also crystal clear that her anger and emotions are being held at bay by the thinnest of barriers, and with each step closer to her losing control, the real world ramifications get murkier and more dangerous.
Tumblr media
What on Earth is going on with Vision?  We are given a brief glimpse of the actual “reality” behind Wanda’s created “reality”, and the most jaw-dropping revelation up to that time is the seemingly dead Vision interacting with Wanda in her created world.  He is no longer in possession of the Mind Stone, and the infamous damage to his head (courtesy of Thanos) is still very much present.  S.W.O.R.D. acting Director Tyler Hayward decided to reveal that S.W.O.R.D. was storing Vision’s corpse at the time that Wanda supposedly broke in and stole it, but even the validity of that is questionable considering how unlikeable Hayward chooses to be.  I am also curious if the reason that everyone acts so cagey around Vision is because they see him as a corpse.  Vision also seems to have holes in his overall awareness, including no knowledge of the Avengers, which makes you wonder who he truly is on top of what is going on with him.
Tumblr media
Monica Rambeau seems to be holding back from exerting control over the situation at hand, especially in light of the fact that she’s the only person who has been on both sides of The Hex and has flatly declared that Wanda is the one in control.  There is also an intentional glossing over of key things revolving around Monica that continue to stand out, chiefly among them being her lab readings that appear to have been whited out by a bright light, and the caginess exhibited whenever any references to Captain Marvel are made.  She is also clearly a thorn in the side of S.W.O.R.D., and in spite of her connection to S.W.O.R.D. originator Maria Rambeau, it is clear that her presence is not welcome in the camp investigating The Hex.
Tumblr media
Dr. Darcy Lewis and Jimmy Woo are quickly becoming not only the fan favorites of the show, but the pairing we never knew that we needed.  Darcy’s massive intellect, wealth of knowledge and razor-sharp sarcastic wit pair brilliantly with Woo’s empathic, perceptive abilities and kind-hearted, wholesome nature.  With the mystery falling squarely into their laps, they have become the perfect guides through the madness for curious viewers, as many of their questions and concerns mirror those of the audience.
Tumblr media
Pietro Maximoff may be the most intriguing appearance of any character in the MCU due to the possible implications that lie with his emergence.  Is he actually Quicksilver?  The alarms sounded during his appearance, so did he bring himself into The Hex, or was he allowed in by someone?  If he is not the Pietro that we are familiar with, and he is playing games in regards to whether or not he is the real deal, then why does Wanda briefly see him just as dead as she sees Vision?  Many YouTubers are speculating that the progression of decades used by the sitcom format is intentionally mirroring the decade jumps in the latest series of X-Men films, which is possibly causing some sort of fold in space-time that is combining alternate realities... whatever the explanation is for the emergence of the Evan Peters version of Quicksilver, I’ve never seen anything like this in media, and am wholly invested in seeing where this stroke of genius leads us.
Tumblr media
What exactly are Tyler Hayward‘s intentions with Vision, The Hex and Wanda?  Why is he being so cagey with information and so ruthless with his control?  What is his deal in regards to the clear-cut resentment he has for Monica Rambeau and her connections to those with powers, seemingly specifically Carol Danvers?  Is he the true villainous antagonist, or is he just a pawn in a much bigger scheme?
THE QUESTIONS
- If Evan Peters is now Pietro Maximoff outside of the Fox X-Men franchise, is this the indicator that mutants now exist in the MCU?  Or is this simply a meta-glitch to setup the rumors of similar occurrences that will happen in the upcoming Spider-man film?
- Why is Dottie still not on the board of identified individuals trapped in The Hex?  Even Agnes is on the board, though she does not have a real-life identifier as of yet, which makes her mysterious as well.
- Who are the kids in the commercials, and what is their tie to the mysterious pair that appear in every commercial?
- Is all the talk of S.W.O.R.D.’s astronaut program and specialized aerospace engineers a way to set up the eventual introduction of Reed Richards (and eventually the Fantastic Four) into the MCU?  Is this who Monica and Jimmy Woo are heading to meet in Episode 06?
- Is all of the hexagon imagery a way to establish a motif of evolving DNA?  Does Vision mentioning the Charles Darwin book Descent of Man push this motif into the realms of mutation by way of genetic evolution?
- As Darcy mentions in Episode 06, Monica Rambeau’s two journeys through The Hex have fundamentally changed her down to the molecular level... are we seeing the emergence of Photon, and on a bigger scale, the mode in which Mutants will be created?
- Why is Marvel so good at cliffhanger endings?  The last two episodes, in particular, have made waiting a week for the continuation of the story one of the most difficult things I have ever done.  I’m hard-pressed to think of a show since The Sopranos that has kept me this anxious from week to week in anticipation of what will happen next.

Bea & Ro
Bea: I’ve been talking to Tess throughout the day
Bea: And I’m glad you helped with setting up the party with everyone
Bea: But I really do feel you could actually attend the party, in action, even just for an hour or so, to show willing
Bea: You know everyone will feel bad for you at home alone, even if that is how you prefer it
Ro: The crux of the matter, however, is that I already showed a willingness in helping to set up and to offer to do any more would therefore be an over-extension.
Ro: I have spoken to Tess myself and am satisfied that she understands.
Bea: They’re different issues.
Bea: Helping out your family is expected, separately so from attending, which is less of a given but still something you should have a very good excuse for not doing. You wouldn’t opt out of Christmas, it’s entirely about spending a holiday with your loved ones, which is the norm, to deviate from prompts questions.
Bea: I understand you have anxieties but no one will want or expect you to talk to the punters, you can spend all night with Ali and Tommy and if a random person DID make you feel uncomfortable, you know literally any of the family would step in and diffuse that situation for you
Bea: So, honestly, I think you need to come. It’s unfair to bring down other people’s mood with this, everyone will be worried about you
Ro: What I have are traditions of my own to uphold. All I am opting out of is drinking to excess, which only became the norm in the 80s. Before then, my attendance at Mass wouldn’t have raised a single eyebrow.
Ro: Honestly, I think you’re being unfair given that you and Fraze are often the ones ruining the mood and causing worry when you spend the holidays together.
Bea: You don’t have to drink the minute you enter a Pub, it’s as much a requirement as you being an actual Catholic to attend Mass, luckily so
Bea: We can’t all hide in our bedrooms like children, Fraze and I are adults.
Bea: As such, we can handle any issues we may have, and have the other adults understand that isn’t really their business, though they’re welcome to show concern and be reassured. And we also honour family commitments; You are old enough to do the same and for that not to be a big ask, Ro
Ro: I am an actual Catholic, and I do not have to enter a pub simply because you demand it, Bea.
Ro: Oh no, of course not, it’s much more befitting of adults to air every grievance or display of affection as publicly as you two do. My sincerest apologies!
Ro: My behaviour, whether or not you chose to labour under the misapprehension that any of it is a coping mechanism for whatever it is, in turn, you perceive to be wrong with me, is frankly none of your business, nor need it be a cause for concern. You’re welcome to consider that your reassurance.
Bea: Of course you are. I’m not demanding anything. I’m asking you to use your head and frankly, some compassion to do a simple thing for your family, which whilst it includes me, so sorry, I am not the primary concern of now or ever.
Bea: I have no interest in discussing my relationships with you, aside from the fact you have no experience of your own to bring to what would otherwise be a riveting conversation, thanks
Bea: I have as little desire to spend all my time thinking about what may or may not be your issue; I’d just like you to either own up to the fact you have one and get some god damn help, or to show you don’t and be a person
Bea: You can surely accept the position you are putting Tess and Fearghal in? Not to mention Ali and Tommy and the rest of us. You can keep the holiday, to which your affiliation is tenuous anyway, in your way AND make the effort to give everyone peace of mind and to feel they have spent some quality time with you today
Bea: Which yes, people do want to do, and you should feel lucky that that’s true
Ro: The desire you have to address your relationships with me in conversation seems to be on par with the desire I have to continue this conversation any further at all. My answer is no.
Ro: Your hypocrisy, meanwhile, does appear to be boundless in asking me to have compassion as you show me none whatsoever and do not care in the slightest for any position you are putting me in by forcing me to state my case right now. I refuse to be put on trial by you, thank you.
Bea: You know your argument is flawed when you’ve already contradicted yourself. Do I need to show your compassion for your ‘position’ or are you no cause for concern?
Bea: We both know the truth is YOU are doing what YOU want to do, and you are unwilling to do something for anyone else, purely because it is not what you would like to do. I WAS being kind giving you the benefit of the doubt. I actually don’t think you’re anxious at all. What I do think is that this selfishness is entirely unacceptable of a girl your age.
Ro: I shouldn’t have to make an argument when, as previously mentioned, I have done what the family has asked of me.
Ro: Nobody but you sees fit to take me to task for my intended absence, which is the real truth we both know.
Bea: No one else dares to, and you know that. It’s shameful to use your well-being as a tool to hide your nastiness. No one else is going to tell you they see it, but I will and I do.
Bea: Using your mental health as an excuse for treating people badly is all well and good now but you will be left truly alone if you keep this up and you might think that’s preferable but I wouldn’t wish for you to find out you are wrong.
Ro: Everyone else has a clearer picture than you. Of course, it’s unsurprising that absence has not made your heart grow any fonder for me when there is so little room in it for anyone but him. Perhaps it’s you who needs to assess and address their mental health.
Ro: I, on the other hand, have been left largely in solitude for a while now so your threat is a hollow one.
Bea: Bullshit. We’re blood and I know you. And I do love you but I cannot and will not pander to you and your illness by pretending you are not in the wrong when you are. Snipe away all you like, any barb from you loses all power from how entirely you need help yourself. Are you not tired of this?
Bea: You don’t know alone like that and you never have. People care about you, you can’t remember what it is like to have no one that does. Don’t let it get to that point, for God’s sake.
Ro: Tired of what? People entirely and apparently willfully misunderstanding everything? Yes.
Ro: You don’t know the breed of loneliness I do or don’t feel and you never have.
Bea: You want so badly to be enigmatic and deeply misunderstood, to face hardships and overcome them with ease like no one else has or will.
Bea: You’re playing a dangerous game to lose, you make problems to conquer all day little girl and still your only reward will be your own smug satisfaction at your perceived ‘wins’. I’m not going to apologize for wanting happiness for you, for wanting better than that. That isn’t real, it’s not sustainable and the more you control your world, the smaller and sadder it will become.
Ro: You’re wrong, what I want is to be understood and none of you even try. Therein lies the hardship because what I have to overcome is what those skewed perceptions do to me. My mind. My body. I’m put at daily war with all of you and vilified when I resist. It isn’t a game and I won’t apologise either for taking the control that none of you can be trusted with. Or for not wanting to spend time with you as a result. How can you say you want happiness for me and then tell me I must subject myself to misery?
Bea: All everyone does is try, Ro. You’re the one with skewed perceptions, the one who’s fighting against what is right and rational and healthy. All anyone wants to do is help you and this is only an issue because you don’t want help yet.
Bea: You started with all this to get your own way and you continue to use it as a tool of manipulation. You should never have been rewarded, assured that everyone would give Ro what she wanted before it got too real; but what were they meant to do, let you die? You were a kid, no one wanted to see you hospitalized, force-fed, Christ knows what
Bea: For fuck’s sake, I wish you were miserable, miserable enough to have some fight in you to sort this out.
Bea: Every time I leave, I’m scared you won’t be here when I get back, do you know that? Your eating disorder makes you exempt from the absolute fear you give to the rest of us and I’m so fucking sick of it
Ro: No they don’t. What they try to do is talk over me until what’s right and healthy for me is entirely drowned out. You think I’m the one making my world small but it’s all of you who are backing me into corners whenever you can, threatening to force a tube into me. If anyone should understand that I don’t want my body to be violated, you should. The idea of that is worse than any manipulation tactics you’re accusing me of. It’s disgusting.
Bea: How many times HAVE you been force-fed? That’s right, none because we understand that that is not the right approach, and I am not threatening you with it right now, just saying it is a thing that happens to other girls like you, because it does and you are well aware of that fact regardless.
Bea: Your body and your mind are sick, and at times, maybe now, you are unable to accept that and thus work towards wanting help and change. We have to live with that. And we do. What we are not about to do is give you a standing ovation for killing yourself. It’s desperately sad, for you but for all of us too.
Bea: I wish I knew how to make you care but I don’t
Ro: I’m not like those girls you’re referring to, they’re toxic and out of control.
Bea: I’ll see you tomorrow then
Ro: At some point you’re bound to. How long are you staying?
Bea: It would be today
Bea: Just a long weekend, as I’ll be back for Rocky’s Birthday/Easter at the start of April
Ro: Yes, had you been here earlier, it would.
Bea: If you were going to the actual event I’m coming home for, it would.
Ro: If we stopped pretending as though you’d have any time for me were I attending said event, you wouldn’t have to do this.
Bea: Act as if this is my fault when I’ll be there and you won’t. The only reason I have to come back is to make time for you and the family, for God’s sake.
Ro: It’s your fault that you’re blowing the fact that I don’t want to go entirely out of proportion.
Bea: No, I’m not. You just don’t like being called out for being selfish. There are other places and parties the rest of us could be, but we’ve still made the effort and you haven’t, it’s as simple as that
Ro: I don’t like that you’re determined to do so regardless of what I say or do. It’s as simple as nothing ever being good enough for you.
Bea: It’s as simple as it isn’t good enough, and you have no argument for that. You’ll do as you please but I’m not going to coddle you for it
Ro: I have no desire to argue with you.
Bea: As per, there is no talking to you, nevertheless you will have to at some point during my visit
Ro: Fine.
