hi! this is my first ask
i 'm a new tumblr user lol, looking for a site to chill on, this site is so weird and i love it here, i just found you and i love your doodles
tell me about your ocs!
Hi!!! Yay thanks for letting me be the first :D welcome to Tumblr!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy my silly little stuff! Ok ok let me think how do I start this. There is a bit of a mess with it ok. So there's a lot of them lol and a few different stories. Most of them are a collab with my sister @meadow-roses
Thistled Rose of Glishirn. The first one! It's about Aithus and his sister Kloe, and the most annoying guy Edmund. They go on adventures trying to save their country and do right regular freedom fighting. Jailbreaks, interrogation, speeches, betrayal. All the fun stuff. Oh and it's also set in a fantasy world.
The Keepers. This one is so big. It follows mainly four characters (Skylar, Ketsler, Felix, Betty) who find themselves with magic and unable to die. Shenanigans has they bop about helping people and witnessing horrors before meeting and almost becoming friends! And good thing too because the horrors just get worse! They have to face off with a too-powerful evil wizard, bent on reforming the world to his vision.
Ageless War. It's the end of the world. The universe has been at war and destroying itself for hundreds of years. You're either a war veteran, an outlaw, or dead. The three main characters team up and maybe actually become friends. Mitz wants revenge. Nico wants freedom. Miao wants answers. Things get fun when they find the first android, created over a hundred years ago.
I think that catches the basics? If you want to hear more about the actual ocs themselves just tell me which one sounds more interesting! Didn't want to get too long-winded on you lol
If you're interested in reading some one shot stuff I've posted my writing on @august-angst

For glider's writing ask game how about C2 for throng?
C2: describe one of your favorite locations in your WIPs world?
Ok I do appreciate the ask, it's taken me forever to get back to it because I haven't done enough worldbuilding to have a favorite Location.
So I will say the troll mountain cave. It's got this cool staircase leading to the stone door. And there's this little tunnel that then goes into her cave, with has a big fire pit with a chimney that goes out the side (instead of up because yknow it's a mountain). There's like drying herbs and baskets of all sorts of things and a rocking chair and it's very cozy and dark so she has all these candles lit on these shelves around the room.

A1 and A2 for the writing ask game!
1. Introduce the characters from one of your current WIPs in one or two sentences each.
Okay I'm gonna do Thistled Rose of Glishirn, here we go.
Aithus — Super idealistic and stubborn kid who wants to follow in his father's footsteps and free his country from the looming empire nextdoor, but he's kinda a kid so he stumbles around and makes friends with a bard and goes to jail and maybe awakens ancient creatures of magic.
Edmund Eventone — Really good minstrel who is also very good at being annoying, but tbh he knows a lot of useful stuff and actually yeah some of the stuff is kinda strange that he knows it, but he's so cheerful.
Kloe — Aithus' twin sister who is also trying to follow in her father's footsteps but he only had two feet so there's not much space for the two of them, but nah she ain't going anywhere else, she has a knife and a great deal of determination and better people skills than her brother.
Aalto — May or may not have a death wish, but it doesn't really matter at this point because his country is already enslaved so yeah helping a kid do the impossible might be fun and exciting and maybe perhaps might just work, the minstrel's songs are neat at least.
2. Who's your favorite character to write and why?
Oh man this is always a hard one for me to answer because I haven't actually written all of my characters so it's not totally fair but. Cody is fun to write. I get to focus super heavy into the imaginary and portray the ordinary in a different way. Plus he's so chill. (asfkfhv I'm not actually sure if you know who Cody is but I have a tag for him and you can ask if you want xD)

For the writing ask game maybe 14A?
14. Ramble about your characters. Anything special you like about them? Random little details you've added that you enjoy?
Okay so along the same line of thought as this answer here, I just,,, I'm very happy with how small Aithus is. And I don't mean like, he's short. But just everything combined he isn't impressive. He's short yes, but he's also kinda skinny? And he's not super strong. And he's very naive. He looks cute so often and it really betrays the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing. My boy is so idealistic, and he's getting depressed because the world is more complicated than that and he just can't seem to fix it. How has he succeeded?? The only reason he's gotten so far is because 1. Ed knows how to help him. 2. He's just too stubborn to stop. 3. Because of that he encourages others to try. The cute country kid is trying to lead a rebellion. I'm just really happy with the way he is a hero. And he's so baby help him.

A-14 for your ask game :)
14. Ramble about your characters. Anything special you like about them? Random little details you’ve added that you enjoy?
Ok so my brainrot has kinda been ThRoG recently. So yeah. I'm pretty pleased with Aithus as a character (finally. I hope it lasts)
I love, how he interacts with the position of "hero". In the beginning of the story he is kinda wanting to be something more than he is. He wants to be a perfect glader (special role in glishirn), he wants to help his people, he wants to save everyone, he wants to be good enough, he wants to be his dad. He wants to be a hero. But he doesn't actually believe he can, so he settles for what he's got.
For one thing, he's kinda a coward. He'll freeze up and overthink things and doubt himself and play it safe. He jumps to action, but only if it's gonna turn out okay and alright. And, that makes some big messes for him. He knows what he needs to be, and who he wants to be. But it takes him a lot of effort to get to that. And yeah the adventures he goes on helps shape that character for him. Edmund is with him through a lot of it, and he's got his back. And he's surprisingly brave. So that really helps him out.
So now Aithus has kinda climbed himself up into a position where he feels like he can actually be "Aithus" and not sound stupid. And all these lost people, poor people without hope, people that are wishing almost as much as Aithus that Genter would come back and save him. All these people see Aithus and what he's done, and they just,,, they latch on. They need that hope and that feeling that there's a hero out there who will save them, and Aithus works fine. So they label him a hero, their chosen protector, a prophecy fulfilled. And they have hope again.
Kinda unfortunate for Aithus because,,, he can't do all that stuff they want. And it's very stressful??? Like man he's already having a hard time. And know he's "the chosen hero of glishirn"??? He doesn't believe, he doesn't want it, and he denies it. The fun part tho is that he doesn't stop trying to save glishirn and do all the stuff that made him their chosen hero in the first place. He's just like,, no!! guys it's not like that!!! I suck!!! And they're all like,, he's amazing he's modest :)
And guess what, he only grows into a better hero from their. So yeah it's like this fun tug and pull of him wanting to be a hero, denying he is, but still becoming one.
And one thing I feel that's important about him as a hero is that,,, he's not really skilled. Yes he's capable of swordplay and he has a bow, he's kinda smart and yeah people like him I guess. But really what he's best at right here and how he's fighting, is he won't give up. He just won't. He's stubborn and it drives him forward. It terrifies his enemies and inspires others that see him. And once he learns how to really become brave, ohoho boy.

WHY DOES AITHUS’S FAMILY DIE WHAT HAPPENED
Okay so, Aithus ran away from home. And while he was gone his home village was attacked. And like,,,there wasn't any soldiers there because they had been pulled to the front to fight, but since that had gone horribly wrong the enemy was able to come through. So yeah, the village was attacked and buildings burnt. Anyone who protested was killed/captured. Aithus found his house smoldering and no sight of his family. Since his father was leading the army that held them back, why would they leave his family alive to seek revenge?

For Aithus 👀 Describe your OC through the eyes of another person! (Edmund's eyes)
Sorry this took me way longer then it should have (because I procrastinated lol) But here ya go. It kinda,,,, expanded...
________________________________
It was noon, the sun high above the heads of those walking around out of doors. Or it would have been, if you could see it past the gloomy clouds. It was noon and dreary overcast.
Shouldn't be too long before I reach Clipgulf.
The bitter wind raced in the air and between the long moor grass, clattering the dry branches of proud sleeping trees, and biting through the bright thin colors of the foreigner's clothes. But though the weather was something to dread for anyone not native to it, the man wore a smile. It reached the corners of his eyes and caused them to squint—or maybe that was because of the wind. His stride was firm and fast, passing over bumps and rises in his uneven dirt path cut through the wild heights. He chuckled as he ducked his head to avoid a rather strong gust, one hand held onto the strange but fashionable hat he wore.
What a deal, he thought, with a shake to his head, what a strange deal. I wonder what my subject will look like.
The foreigner—Edmund Eventone—was a bard; and he had just been hired to write ballads of grand deeds done by Glishirn's debuting hero.
Hero is a loose term. In concept it means something great and noble, but there's never any real kind of hero. All of them are just stuffed talk and paid praise that swindle their problems away. Impressive though they are—with their showy acts—but no not heroes.
I wonder what type of boastful brute I'll meet. Or maybe it'll be the big brain skinny rat type. Either way I need new threads because it's chilly up here.
A post stood out above the waving heads of grass; its ancient wood slanted in danger of sinking below the rippling surface of the field. Nailed on it and reaching for the sky was a sign that read in worn and scribbled letters: "Clipgulf".
The bard squinted through the bobbing field for his destination. He'd been told to meet his client at "the inn by Clipgulf in Aithus" the region in Glishirn where he'd be introduced to the "hero" he would write about. But that was as good as the directions went. With a shrug he bravely pressed on through the wind, down the hill his path wound.
Minutes in and the path broke off into many small offshoots. No landmarks or signs; at least any that he could read. Just a post with dashes carved into the side. With a huff he eyed his choices.
A "turn left" or "take route three" would have been nice, Malcolm, he thought as he drummed his fingers along the strap of his lute, suppose I should just guess and go, huh.
As he peered down his path he caught sight of rooftops. With a happy hum of triumph he bent his steps toward that direction. A whistled tune broke into the air from his mouth and blew away in the aggressive weather, never to be heard. He gave a disappointed frown to nothing in particular but continued whistling.
His path bent and slipped down the hill into a valley with tall trees looming like mountains above him. Two houses crammed themselves between these wooden beasts, the thatch threatening to blow off and away. A helpful post stood boldly bearing a sign that read "INN", but didn't clearly point to either building.
Edmund let out a sigh. What was wrong with these people; can they be clear about anything? With a shake to his head that caused his hat to bob he strode to the nearest door. Just as his hand reached for the knob—or what apparently passed as one—the door flew open and Edmund looked down in surprise to see a young boy. The lad started and looked up at him. His face was an odd mix of confusion and irritation, with concern on every feature as if it lived there perpetually. The confusion died away to embarrassment as he regained his composure.
"Um, hello?" His hair sat like a mess on his head, long and unkempt with grass caught in it.
"Hello, I'm looking for Malcolm Kempt," Edmund replied.
"Oh," the lad gave him a sheepish worried kind of smile, "this is the stables, uh. He's probably in the inn?"
Stable? Edmund thought, giving the inside a glance. Oh so it is. Ah I suppose this child is a stable-boy then. Poor worried thing.
"Ah, I see that now. Thank you, suppose I'll leave you to it then."
Edmund spun on his heels and marched to the other door. Out of the corner of his eye he could see the worried lad peer at him from the doorway; a concerned and confused kind of peer. A sandy haired lad trotted past him and into the stables, causing worried lad to move from his peering perch. Sandy threw an amused wondering glance at the bard as he slipped through the doorway. Edmund rolled his eyes and wondered how many foreigners these kids saw.
Opening the door he found what was in fact the inn. Finally. He got a good look about the room, and not seeing Malcolm around, decided to get himself a drink. Picking a nice table he set his lute beside him and draped himself comfortably there, and looked about at the strange people of this country. A fat man played with his beard, winding it round and round his finger till he lost the end and started over again. A woman sat knitting as she glowered at everyone who passed by. A group of boys laughed at their table, weekly holding onto their mugs. A barmaid sat on a table and chatted to an old lady who viciously ate bread. An old man peered at the world blankly from inside his mass of hair as a dog rolled about at his feet, tearing his pant cuffs to shreds. Definitely a strange type of people.
The maiden eventually noticed him and bobbed her head at the old lady and slipped quickly away, relief washing over her face.
"Cuna 'ave'ya s'nthing?" She looked expectantly at the bard, plucking at the apron tied round her waist.
"I'd like an ale?" Edmund had heard accents before but this was something else.
Realization dawned on her face and she nodded deep, attempting to hide the smile he could clearly see growing on her face. "Aye, be'yaunt a bit"
She slipped off at a trot, hair swinging with her steps. Edmund fished out the price from his belt and placed it at the edge of the table for her on her return.
She came back soon with a pint and set it down for him, and then slid the money into the palm of her hand, closing a fist around them.
"Yo' tie'ght stay biffu'wiv' aus'?" Her hands flew about as she spoke, trying to compensate for the heavy accent. She punctuated her question with a broad gesture behind her to the stairs leading up to the rooms.
"Oh, no," he dismissively waved and shook his head, "I'm good. But would you possibly know where I might find clothes of a thicker type?"
She squinted and cocked her head, before shaking it vigorously. "Goa'aup to th' dask and 'ave yee au chaut, bu' wee dun't 'ave nane." She gave him a knowing smirk and then bobbed off.
Edmund took a sip of his ale and began thinking up a melody as he waited, but the odd people around him soon drew his interest away from song-smithery and he watched the locals with amusement. Eventually one of the boys got out of his seat and pulled the dog away from the old man's pants. This gained him a smack on the back that caused the lad to jump but his face broke out into sunbeams and he returned to his fellows grinning. The old lady finished her bread and wandered off till she caught the ear of another maid who tried to back away but couldn't. The knitting woman gave a shout and one of the young lads detached himself and bounded up to her. She then promptly threw her knitting over his head and fussed about it before smacking him off. He obliged her quickly, but not before kicking her yarn and unrolling several feet. The side-door creaked open and Worried Boy slipped through, casting a concerned glance around before sneaking up the stairs. Edmund shook his head and wondered what kind of boss the innkeeper must be, or maybe the lad just had issues.
The front door swung open and a broad man entered. He looked like he just rolled out of bed pre-dressed—his clothes wrinkled and shoes bent, his hat threatening to fall to the floor—either that or the wind had really enjoyed itself.
Ahh, there's my man Malcolm.
Edmund watched him from his chair, sipping his drink like he had all the time you could ever ask for. He chuckled; amused that he got here before the man that actually lived here with its crazy directions. Malcolm spotted the bard, and with a nodded, headed in his direction. He loudly called for an ale and sat himself in front of Edmund.
"I see you made it all in a piece right." The man ran a hand down his patchy beard and thumped his hand down on the table. "I'm only late 'cause roads flooded on out my way."
Edmund nodded, knowing clearly that he was embarrassed. He no longer wondered at the man's strange word choices; it was barely anything compared to what else he'd seen.
"Flooding sure does cause those types of problems." He sipped his ale once more.
Malcolm eyed him nervously and remained quiet for a second. "S'ppose you're needing to meet him first off?"
Edmund paused a moment, and then gave him a firm nod. Oh yes. The new hero. I had almost forgotten about him.
"Aye, I'll best find him for you." Quite forgetting his ale that he had yet to received he rose from the table and lumbered off.
Edmund watched him go, the question returning to his mind again; what type of man would he be meeting?
I wonder if I'll have to dramatize anything or if he'll have already done it for me.
Malcolm shooed the old bread lady away from the poor maid, and with a lot of huffing she hobbled off. Edmund watched from a distance as Malcolm and the maid conversed. The conversation ended with her pointing at the stairs and trotting off up them. The other barmaid that spoke to Edmund earlier came up with a pint and held it out to him. He accepted it and downed it. The maid put her hands on her hips, and grabbing the pint from him marched off.
Malcolm returned to his seat chuckling and folded his hands in front of him on the table. Edmund gave him a smile.
"She went on to tell him. He's a quick one so he'll be down right soon." He nodded along with himself.
Edmund set his empty pint down and leaned back in his seat. "So this young man I'm to meet, what is his name?"
Malcolm's eyebrows rose with excitement and he leaned over the table. "He goes by Aithus. One of the people and for 'em."
Edmund cocked an eyebrow and nodded. A little prideful—this will be interesting.
The worried stable-boy trotted down the stairs and strode towards their table. Even though his face said he was doubtful he carried himself with confidence. His eyebrows were drawn down into an annoyed scowl and his mouth twitched into a frown.
"Malcolm?" The lad placed himself in front of the table and folded his arms, one eyebrow quirked up in question.
Malcolm's face lit up and he rose to greet him. "Oh! See he's a quick little one, as I'a told you." He glanced Edmund's way and then returned his attention to the boy.
The boy's gaze followed Malcolm's and rested with surprise on Edmund. Edmund rose casually from his seat and offered his hand.
"Edmund Eventone."
"Aithus." The boy took the offer and they shook hands.
"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
The worried boy—or Aithus as he was actually called—shot Malcolm a look of confusion.
"He's one of them good bards. I went and hired him, he's gonna write your deeds of bravery and sing it!"
Horror lit Aithus's face and he glanced at Edmund. The bard smiled. Aithus glanced between the two men and a soul deep weariness settled on his features.
"So when do you start?"

ooh please tell me more!! I'm interested!! :D
Ohh alright!! Lemme see, how bout the backstory that I've never mentioned before?
"Thistled Rose of Glishirn" takes place in, you guessed it, Glishirn! A small country peninsula atop the continent.
Glishirn is divided into seven regions of land:
[the names are subject to change since I'm not sure I'm satisfied with them]
All ruled by the same King as any other kingdom, but for each region a "knight" or "ranger" has the task to watch over it. The position is passed down through the family, and though relatives may help, one is chosen as the one protector of his region. The role is called a "Glader", and ever Glader bears the name of the land they guard. It is a role of respect and responsibility. Passing down the legacy and training an heir is not taken lightly. Young men will inherit this from their fathers, uncle's, or grandfather when either they have died, gotten too old, or injured to the point of becoming unable to preform the task.
A band of Seelie—fae gypsies—came to the castle, for they had a great "vision" of the future to present before the King. They told of struggle, and woes. Of pain of spilt blood. But of a great one, a hero of heart and arms who would rise up and bring justice and peace! A warrior among warriors. And that this great warrior would be beloved by all the people, and would claim the hand of the beautiful Princess.
This foretelling was spread throughout the country and it was soon presumed by everyone that this great warrior was in fact the nobleman's son, betrothed to the princess, and one of the most skilled at arms.
But then, there was betrayal. Spies were in the castle and upon revealing themselves an attack was launched. All the people living their killed, the royal family slaughtered, and their foretold hero fell. The princess escaped with the help of a few of the stable hands. But shortly after that she went missing. Rumors spread that she was found and murdered, others thought she went mad from the lose of her family and lover. Many tried to find her, but to no avail. The word spread like wildfire through the country and dismay fell on the people. What would they do now that their ruler was dead? With their hero killed and the hope of their future broken, sorrow filled their hearts.
As the shock ran through the kingdom the Gladers tightened their defense. With no king to aid them they were weakened. As they predicted attacks were laid on the boarders, chipping them apart. The heaviest attacks were laid on Aithus' boarders, Thronian tropes poured in from their conquered land and launched themselves against it. Genter, Glader of Aithus, lead the defenses. He rallied his men and bravely they fought. But though the men were quick and stubborn, they could not match the numbers of their enemies. Their foes slayed them and broke through. Genter would not give up and fought until he breathed his last on the battlefield. Aithus' Glader had died, and their enemy marched in, capturing all who apposed them, slaying men, and setting fields and houses on fire. Heavy was their lose, hopelessness spread through them and their spirits were broken.
Genter's son heard how his father fell, and stepping in his footsteps he took up the name of his people and filled the role his father left for him. He was stubborn and determined that no one would take their freedom from them while they yet lived.
Thanks so much for asking! I would have answered much sooner, but I had to make some maps for you and twas a bunch of typing to fit into a busy day.
