hi! this is embarassing but i'm trying to learn how to embroider, and i wanted to ask: how many threads are we supposed to put in the needle hole? i wasn't sure wehre to find this information...the tutorials show one thread but the thread from the embroidery spool is so big and won't fit when i try to thread it through the fabric :(

How many embroidery floss strands

It's okay, we all have to start somewhere.

A lot of us feel like everything we do has to be perfect on our first try, but that's just not realistic. It leads to us feeling embarrassed about messing up, and then giving up altogether.

Mistakes are an important part of learning any skill, and so is asking for help when you run into trouble.

And you know what? Asking questions you're embarrassed about is really brave, so good job on sending this ask in the first place!

Embroidery floss:

Most embroidery floss consists of six separate strands. (This may vary depending on which type you use.)

By having multiple strands at your disposal, you can choose how many to use. Using all six will give a bolder look than using just one strand. It's kind of similar to drawing: lines made with a big marker will look different than those of a fineliner.

And just like how a fineliner or a bold marker will result in different effects, the amount of strands you use will effect what your embroidery looks like.

How many strands to use depends on the look you're going for and the fabric you're working on.

How many threads?

So, how do we decide how many strands to use? Ask yourself the following questions:

What visual effect do you want to achieve? A bold design, or something more delicate?

How much thread do I have? Can I afford to use six at the same time, or should I use my floss sparingly?

Do I want my embroidery to lay flat on the fabric, or do I want something raised?

Do I want to work fast and bold, or slow and detailed?

What's the most comfortable amount of strands to work with for me personally?

What's my fabric like? Can it handle six strands, or would that result in damaging it? Does my thread count match the needle I want to use?

Which amount of floss is the most appropriate choice for the stitch I'm using?

If you're unsure, try your stitch and strand combination on a scrap of spare fabric first and see what it looks like before tackling your project. Make sure to use a needle that's appropriate for your fabric and thread, too.

so uh, remember back in 2019 when I was like I want to do a Dishonored cross-stitch, something harder than the Outsider’s Mark but also easier than actual people? And I wasn’t seeing a lot of existing patterns so I spent some time messing with C-Stitch and didn’t start stitching it until 2020? And I decided it would look cooler if I used the Diament metallic gold instead of just plain gold floss, aka I made it 10x more difficult. And also it would be 10in by 10in which is big for me. Like, I’ve never finished anything that big. 

Well, until now.

Kim Roksoo’s parents must have been really sweet and loving people.

Even with all the pain he experienced because of his uncle, and losing his parents, he still didn’t become a bad person when everything was set against him.

Like with the children averaging whatever years old, KRS takes care of them and is in general a good father(I mean I question his lack of communication towards his children, like please tell them you have a healing ability at least tell your kids dude please please please please please) but that’s just a general KRS problem coming from the years and years he spent relying only on himself for various reasons.

His parents probably loved him a lot, they cared for him and they showed him what it was like to be loved. That just makes the fact that they died so early on in his life more terrible. Kim Roksoo may not remember them well, but I like to think that when they were alive, he was happy.

Why High School Musical 2 and Revenge Of The Sith are almost the same film

Okay so we have the main character

who is a part of a community

But he's worried about his future e.g Anakin is worried about Padme dying, Troy is worried about going to college and knowing what to do with his life.

He has a best friend who's got his back

and a love interest

We then have a villain/girlboss

who really admires the main character and will do anything to have them join them.

So Palpatine/Sharpay offers Anakin/ Troy what they want. Anakin wants Padme to be safe and rank of master. Troy wants a college scholarship.

Over time Anakin/Troy loses his morals and begins to enjoy this new power, driving him away from the Jedi/wildcats.

We see this with Anakin giving into the dark side, and Troy loving his italian shoes and new golf job and being rude when his friends are serving him food. Also ditching his friends to play basketball with the scholarship people.

There is also a side plot where Anakin gets false suspicions of Obi-Wan and Padme being a thing, and Troy gets sus about Ryan and Gabriella being a thing.

Anyways now that palpatine/sharpay has Anakin/Troy, they no longer need their original partner/apprentice

Obi-Wan/Chad confronts Anakin/ Troy and have a big falling out

 And Padme/Gabriella are so heartbroken that they have a really dramatic goodbye scene.

Padme dies/Gabriella leaves and everyone is mourning their leaving

Palpatine/sharpay commits the worst offence. Palpatine executes order 66

Sharpay makes the east high crew work during the talent show.

The main difference is that Troy realises his errors and fixes everything, whilst Anakin continues on into the dark side.

Oh and that there’s no singing in Revenge of the sith but you CAN’T tell me that Anakin wasn’t singing Bet On It whilst he was alone on mustafar.

The end.
