Secret Screening at PokéStar Studios

Well, what do you think?” asked Sabrina, the Psychic-Type Gym Leader of Saffron City. Erika, the Grass-Type Gym Leader from Celadon City, looked up in amazement at the movie theater’s marquee which read “Psychics In Space, Starring Sabrina” in big lights. It was quite the sight to behold.

“Wow, I never thought I’d see it, but there it is.” Erika softly chuckled a bit. She had always known Sabrina to be more quiet and reserved. Still, when she heard she was going to be in a movie from the renowned PokéStar Studios she was somewhat surprised, even more so much later after being invited to a private screening of her latest big-screen appearance at that very illustrious studio. Seems as though Sabrina has come out of her shell quite a bit.

“Is it really that surprising, Erika?” Sabrina said in a hushed tone.

“Well, a little. I just never thought you’d want to be an actress, is all.” Erika tried to reassure her fellow Gym Leader, she didn’t mean to laugh at her new side job. “I sort of thought it would be a one-off, what made you want to do more?”

“Well after my debut as Belleba in the Mystery Doors of the Magical Land movies, the studio thought I would do well as the star of my own movie. Plus, the project sounded interesting to me, so I took them up on their offer.”

“I suppose a movie about psychics would pique your interest.” Erika smiled. At the end of the day, she was just happy that this made Sabrina happy.

Curiously, Erika looked around her. She had heard that Sabrina had invited the other Kanto Gym Leaders to the Kalos Region to see the screening, but it would seem she was the only one here.

“So I guess it’s just us then?”

“Seems that way, I suppose the others were too busy to join us today. What a shame…I rented out the studio’s theater for the occasion too…” Sabrina shrugged, calm and seemingly unbothered by the lack of audience. “Oh well, they’ll just have to see it when it premieres…care to come inside?”

“Sure!” Erika smiled brightly and soon followed Sabrina inside, where they walked through the empty PokéStar theater. Sabrina wasn’t kidding when she said she rented the place out, as there wasn’t a soul in sight, not even a stray Pidove or Patrat that may have gotten in by mistake. It was so quiet Erika could hear the sound of her and Sabrina’s footsteps echoing down the halls.

They soon arrived at the auditorium where Sabrina’s movie was going to be screened, it was large and filled with rows and rows of empty, though comfortable-looking, plush seats. Erika sat down, square in the middle of the middle, just far enough away to see the whole screen but just close enough where it still feels huge. She practically sank in her chair from how soft it was.

“Wow, never had a movie theater all to myself before. Feels pretty special!” Erika said, taking it all in and seeing the bright side despite the theater’s emptiness.

“Glad you think so…” Sabrina subtly smiles back. “...I’ll get the movie started. I’ll be back soon.” With that, Sabrina quietly left the room.

Soon the lights were turned down and the movie projector began to play the film. Erika became excited as the movie’s score played, though she noticed that Sabrina was weirdly still missing despite the screening being in full swing, she brushed that off to pay attention to the film. Perhaps she was just getting some refreshments.

The movie was a sci-fi feature, taking place in the far-off distant future, one where humans and Pokémon have begun to travel the stars in search of new planets, civilizations, and bold new discoveries! The cast includes a veritable crew of scientists and explorers, including Sabrina herself playing the role of the captain with psychic abilities.

Eventually, Sabrina’s crew comes across what appears to be a group of Beeheeyem out in space, though much larger and more powerful than the ones seen on Earth. Deciding that only a psychic could communicate with these psychic Pokémon from space, Sabrina’s character puts on a suit and decides to make contact with them as her crew watches from inside the ship.

“Greetings…” said Sabrina’s character, using her telepathic abilities to communicate directly into their minds “...My crew, and I mean you noble Beeheeyem no harm, we only wish to understand you. We come in peace.”

“You speak to us with your thoughts, how intriguing…” One of the Beeheeyem replies, with a mental voice that sounds almost robotic. “...You and your crew may seek peace with our kind, but we seek something else. We seek domination!”

Sabrina’s character is taken aback by the Beeheeyem’s declaration but holds true to her ideals. “We won’t let you do that, this galaxy and all its beings deserve to live in peace!”

“Unfortunately, Captain… that is not up to you to decide!”

Sabrina’s character attempts to return to the ship but finds herself unable to move, caught in the telekinetic force of two of the Beeheeyems. Next, she tries to communicate with the ship but the signal is jammed by the Beeheeyems too! Struggling to break free and out of options, she attempts to connect with her crew with telepathy, only to feel her thoughts being blocked.

“Your abilities will be useful to our cause…” The lead Beeheeyem tells her. “You will help us turn this into a universe fit for Beeheeyem!”

The lead Beeheeyem then puts up its arms, to show off the red, yellow, and green orbs on its palms that could be seen as its “fingers”. They began to glow in sequence, first red, then yellow, and finally green. The light kept going around and around like that for quite a while, the colors practically swirling around the eyes. It was a bit monotonous, and yet soothing in its own way, making it so easy to fix your gaze on it.

Sabrina’s character eyes widened with shock, but as she watched the glow of the light her senses and her mind drifted off. Not even her abilities could make her resist the Beeheeyem’s will, it was so powerful, intoxicating even. There was just no way to fight it, all she could do was stare and submit.

“Your crew will join us next!”

“Yes…they will join us…” Unable to deny the Beeheeyem’s wishes, Sabrina’s character connected to every crewmember of her own ship, projecting the image of the Beeheeyem’s hypnotic light into their minds. Soon every man, woman, and even Pokémon was under the Beeheeyem’s control. “All hail our Beeheeyem overlords…” everyone said in mindless unison.

Erika watched the events of the movie, on the edge of her seat wondering just how Sabrina’s space captain would get out of this one. While a bit cheesy in spots, she had to admit that this was an entertaining watch.

“Surrender to us, surrender and obey!” With that, the camera focused solely on the lead Beeheeyem, who held up its arms and began to shine its hypnotic sequence light until it was the only thing onscreen.

Erika wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, this scene had been going on quite a bit, but the longer she watched the more drawn into it she was. She leaned back in her seat, her body going limp and her eyes glazing over as she stared into the light. Everything that wasn’t the relaxing red, yellow, and green faded away, nothing else mattered to her now except to surrender herself to it, just like it said.

Suddenly the movie stopped and the lights came back on, but Erika didn’t react. She had fallen so far under that she just sat there, staring off into blank space. Soon Sabrina reentered the auditorium and looked upon the state her friend was in, a slight grin formed across her face.

“Looks like you enjoyed the movie, Erika…I knew you would.” She whispered, wiping the thin line of drool running down Erika’s face. “The Beeheeyem’s light was no special effect, I tried to resist it for a time too, but soon I realized that my compliance was what the studio wanted and the studio must be obeyed…”

“...” Erika sat there completely mindless and motionless, she was too far gone now.

“You will see that being an actress of Pokéstar Studios will be all that you could want, just like I did…” Sabrina puts one hand on the temples of her head and the other on Erika’s to establish a psychic connection. “You want to be an actress of Pokéstar Studios…”

“...I want…to be…an actress of Pokéstar Studios…” Erika just barely mumbles in a tired and emotionless voice.

“You will obey the studio’s demands…”

“Yes…I will obey the studio’s demands…the studio must be obeyed…”

“Good…” Sabrina takes her hand off Erika’s head, letting her brainwashing sink in. “..come with me now, Erika. The studio has a few ideas for movies you can star in, we might even be in one together.” “Yes…” Erika is still groggy, but she can feel Sabrina take her hand, as she starts leading her out of the auditorium.

They were off to talk to the execs for Erika’s debut premiere as an actress of Pokéstar. Whatever plans for her they had she would follow, because that’s just show business after all…

This is my first-ever writing commission (anonymous user), featuring Erika, Sabrina, and a hypnotic movie at PokéStar Studios. I figured to give Beeheeyem a shot as the catalyst here, as part of a sci-fi film. Enjoy!

Since Lucifer is in a lot of media which Lucifer do you like the most and the least

Being how Lucifer is portrayed

For me Sandman/SPN/ is top tier Lucifer was amazing and evil and sexy

Then Obey me, DC comics, SNBG because holy the powers, the character arc and Lucifer backstory

Then its Seven Deadily sins i really didnt like that anime (as it wasnt for me)

But the actors who have played or voices Lucifer have been amazing

Hello, Grey Asmo! I’m doing okay, I hope you are too!

Well I’m definitely in my Obey Me obsession so that Lucifer is my current fave. However, I also liked the version of him from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Supernatural, and Sandman.

I don’t really have a least favorite version of him… maybe the actual Biblical one? LOL!

I just really like the whole concept of the duality of heaven and hell. Sometimes that theme is still present in stories that don’t have Lucifer specifically, but include demons in general or demons who are close to him.

I’ve thought a lot about him as a character in general and I like that he can be really evil or he can be misunderstood. It’s a simple matter to take Lucifer and say, this is the rebellious angel who founded hell in direct opposition to heaven, turn him into this entity full of malice, and have him use humanity for his misdeeds. But I think it’s also interesting to take Lucifer and say here is a being that was once an angel of the highest rank who fell because he dared to oppose authority. I think that can be a more compelling version of the story. We get a little bit of that in Obey Me, but they don’t quite get into what life is like in the Celestial Realm. Not enough for my tastes anyway. Because in this version of the story, I see heaven as a place that’s overly strict and authoritarian and full of rules that are detrimental rather than good. It’s kind of a “good taken to an extreme” concept.

Anyway, I find that my favorite Lucifers kind of play into that sympathetic type of story, instead of being straight up evil.

Which isn’t to say I don’t also enjoy an evil villain style Lucifer. I’m pretty much good with all of his iterations lol.

“Class, we have a new student joining us today, please make her feel welcome!” Mme. Bustier said. It wasn't the first time she had done it this year – Alya and Adrien had received the same treatment –but it still felt like something new, particularly with how small their class was. “Lila, do you want to tell us a little about yourself?”

“Well, my parents are Italian diplomats, which is why we moved. It's colder than I expected.”

Chloé checked her nails. To her, the new girl was as interesting as watching paint dry.

“I'm a little nervous coming in so late in the year. I do hope I can get some help catching up!”

Nino looked aside, and watched as Adrien drooled all over his table.

Jesus, bro, what the hell you've been doing?

“Dude,” he whispered, poking his sleepy best friend in an attempt to awaken him.

“Let's all be good friends!” Lila wished.

----

A few hours later, the class was on a break, and several of them rounded about Lila, interested in what she could tell about herself.

And it did sound interesting, indeed!

“Thanks to my travels, I know lots of famous people! Jagged Stone, Prince Ali, Spielberg... I'm even besties with Scarlet Lady!” she said, smiling.

Kim, Rose, and Alya were impressed, and the latter actually pulled out her cellphone.

“Wow, Lila, that's amazing! How'd you manage that?!” she asked. If she could get this on the LadyBlog, her views would skyrocket!

Had Lila been paying attention, she would have realized that not everyone was as impressed.

Marinette, Alix, and Nino – all of whom had witnessed Scarlet Lady's real personality – were terrified. Because, what kind of person would actually be friends with her?

Adrien tried to shake off the tiredness from his eyes. After yet another afternoon of training, all he wanted to do was to curl up and take a nap before he had to knock off the homework.

“WHAT!? That's unacceptable! We sent you a file with the measurements!”

Père? Adrien thought. He had heard him being angry, so it wasn't exactly uncommon, but this used to be the kind of thing that really angered him – someone messing with his designs. Approaching to check on him, he saw something unexpected.

“That incompetent …! No, contact my assistant, Nathalie.”

A secret safe.

Quickly jumping behind a column to avoid being seen by his father, Adrien watched as he went away, sizzling in anger – and he was struck with a feeling.

The feeling of curiosity.

“I can't believe there's a safe behind Maman's picture,” he said, moving said picture aside, while Plagg got in and opened the safe from the inside.

“What a weird haul. A book on Tibet, a pamphlet for a hotel in Tibet... Whoops! This looks important!” Plagg said, tossing a large book with an elaborate engraving on its cover to Adrien.

“Noice!” he replied, putting the book in his bag. “Hey, real quick, is rebellion supposed to feel like you're gonna barf?”

“Only if you get caught,” Plagg smugly said.

It was day two of the new girl, and Sabrina knew Chloé's reaction was nowhere close to the worst.

“I don't see what's so great about some new girl,” Chloé declared, while she checked something she had seen on the Ladyblog.

“Really? Even though she's close with Scarlet Lady?”

“WHAT?!”

Sabrina started the video Alya had published yesterday afternoon.

“Scarlet Lady and I, we're like this!” Lila was saying, crossing her fingers.

“That dirty liar!” Chloé shouted. “Where is that rat?!”

“Looks like she's going to the library,” Sabrina pointed out, seeing Lila dragging a clearly reluctant Adrien.

“Hey! With my Adrikins?!”

“Oops.” That was her cue to leave Chloé to her own devices. “Good luck, Lila.”

----

He didn't even know why he had allowed the new girl to drag him to the school library, only that she was way too insistent and in the end he gave up – if only so he could get free of her sooner. With not much to do until Lila finally got bored, he pulled out the book he had found in his father's safe.

Man, I can't even read this. Wait, can Père even read this? he pondered.

“Hey, what's that?” Lila asked, swiping the book.

“Uh, just some superhero encyclopedia,” he covered. “Can I have it back, please...?”

“Oh, I adore superheroes!” she said.

“O...kay?”

What the hell is wrong with her face?

“What a coincidence, so do I! And everyone else!”

Chloé, as was her wont, jumped at him without a care for what damage she might do, and Adrien had to contain his instinct to swat her as if she were a blood-sucking mosquito.

“Chloé, what are you doing here?” he asked.

“Who cares.” Of course, Chloé never bothered to answer such questions. “Show me your fancy book, Adrikins~! I wanna see the Scarlet page!”

Good Lord, why is Chloé so obsessed with Scar, of all people? He sighed.

“Scarlet Lady, huh...”

“You've got a soft spot for the bug, huh?” Lila asked.

“She's... something else,” he tried to say, only to get drowned out by Chloé.

“Of course he does! Everybody loves Scarlet Lady!”

“You know, I'm really good friends with Scarlet Lady,” Lila said, getting too close.

“Huh?!” He wondered why she thought that was good.

“Liar! You are not friends with Scarlet Lady!” Chloé shrieked.

Where was the librarian when one needed her?

“Hmph. Jealous much?”

While Chloé was left silent by this, his phone rang out, reminding him that he needed to leave to get to his class.

“Look, I gotta go or I'll be late,” he said, grabbing his bag.

“Oh, Adrien!”

“Ah!” Seriously, why did so many girls think it was alright to get too close?!

“I hope we can continue our talk later. Privately. After class? In the park?”

“Ex-cuse you?!”

Seriously, Chloé shouted too much.

“Uh, sure?” He really needed to get away.

“Great!” Lila cheered.

“Adrikins!”

“Chloé, I better not see you there.” He really didn't need her 'help'.

“Grr!” Chloé growled.

“Teehee! Bye bye, Chloé!”

----

Checking the book was a mess. It was written in a completely unintelligible language, meaning that she had no way to understand what it was all about.

But the images were more than enough to get by. Particularly if she wanted to impress Adrien! She just needed to find something that she could reliably pass as something related to a hero.

Then one of the pages revealed a girl wearing something that made her look like a fox, along with a pendant that resembled that animal's tail.

“A fox superheroine... hm, interesting. Now, wasn't there a jewelry shop by the park...?”

Now she just needed to make sure Adrien never realized she purloined his little book, and she's be golden!

----

By the time she left the library, Chloé was shaking in anger. How dare that Italian rat!

“The nerve of that big fat liar!” Claiming to be friends with her? Just to ensnare her Adrikins?!

“Chloé!” Tikki exclaimed. “You absolutely have to get that book!”

“What?”

“The book Adrien and Lila had! You have to go get it!”

The book on superheroes? That reminded her, she hadn't managed to see herself in there!

“So, what you're saying is, I have to spy on her and Adrien?” she asked, not even believing it.

“Yes! Follow them!”

Well, that was a shock.

“Wait, seriously? I mean, I definitely was going to, but...”

Finally, it looked like Tikki was actually getting what was important!

“All set,” Adrien said, drying out his sweat as he picked his bag after training. “Now I gotta meet up with Lila.”

“Hey kid,” Plagg replied, his belly full of cheese. “The book's gone.”

“Huh?”

“That new girl took it.”

“She stole my dad's book? Seriously?” She cut into his free time to drag him to the library, took the book from him while he was reading it – without even asking for permission – and now this? He slammed the locker door. “Maybe she really is friends with Scarlet Lady.”

“Here, Marinette, Lila's contact information,” Mme. Bustier said, giving her a folder. “You'll need it as class representative.”

“Thank you.” She would need Lila to get her the info so she could coordinate the timetable.

“Also, I couldn't catch Adrien before he went home. Do you mind making sure he gets this packet he missed?”

“Okay! I can stop by his place later!”

She would have to see how he was. Last she'd heard, Lila had dragged him to the library for some reason.

“There she is!” Chloé said, looking through her cellphone camera.

“We're too far!” Tikki whispered.

“Okay! Okay!” Chloé replied, ducking closer to the Italian liar – and watching as she threw a book into the trash can. “Oop, there it goes.”

“I'll get it!” Tikki exclaimed, flying for the can just as Adrien arrived, sporting a very unfriendly face.

“Seriously? Gross,” Tikki heard Chloé reply as she entered, but she paid her no mind. Because, as soon as she did, she realized it was the Guardian's Grimoire! Just what Master Fu needed if he wanted to further help the heroes!

“It is the book, Chloé!” she happily exclaimed.

“I'm not touching that,” Chloé replied, and she grumbled.

Figures.

And she began the tough task of dragging the book out.

Adrien's BS detector was flaring up like a fireworks spectacle. Knowing that Lila had stolen the book was predisposing him against the girl – and the stuff she was saying was only making it easier to dismiss it.

The only real reason he was still here was because he wanted to get that book back.

“Not only did Scarlet save my life, she became a friend. Because we share a secret!” Lila was saying.

Adrien took that claim with a packet of salt.

Totally suspicious. 'Scarlet'?

“Volpina?” That wasn't a name he remembered – maybe she had found it in the book. And she produced a necklace that resembled a fox's tail.

“She's one of the greatest heroes! Stronger and more famous than Scarlet Lady.”

Ah yes, more powerful and more famous – which is why no one's heard of her.

“Between us, Scarlet Lady isn't all that great.”

No shit.

“Okay, that's it!” Chloé growled, roughly snatching Tikki.

“Chloé, the bo–” Tikki tried to say, but Chloé was beyond listening to anyone other than her own ego.

----

Time to cut this out, he thought.

“You know, Lila. I find it interesting you'd divulge this 'secret' to me after I noticed my book was missing. Isn't that interesting?”

Yeah, Lila realized that she had made a serious miscalculation.

“But even if I didn't notice, I knew right away that you were lying. Do you know how I know?”

Yeah, Lila realized that she had made a serious mistake.

“Because Scarlet Lady would never go out of her way to save anyone!” he shouted, finally letting out his anger at her attempt to deceive him, and hopefully making her finally confess what the hell she did with his book.

“Well, well, well! If it isn't the little liar herself!”

He closed his eyes and palmed his face. And, of course, to round up the carnival of suck, she appeared.

“Dammit, we said her name too many times,” he said. Now he just needed to know how to un-summon her.

Scar, for once, didn't try to do her usual shtick whenever he was around as Adrien, and instead went over to Lila.

“You think you can just go around claiming to be my best friend?!”

Lila was clearly shaking in shock, and Scar's very unfriendly face wasn't making it easier for her.

“You reek of desperation, you pathetic loser!” Scar shouted, tangling Lila with her yo-yo. “But don't worry~”

And she tossed her, spinning, towards the fountain.

“I can wash that off for you!”

“AHHHHH!!” Lila screamed, spinning with no way to stop, until she splashed into the water.

“Hope that helps!” Scar said, laughing like a mad woman.

----

She had only wanted to say a few lies to impress the cutest boy in the class!

Why had Scarlet Lady taken so much offense from her saying they were friends?!

Why had she tossed her into a fountain while they were in the middle of winter?!?!

What had she done to deserve this?!

“What the $#@% was that?!” she heard Adrien shout at Scarlet Lady.

“Ugh.” Seriously, the water felt so.. grimy, for some reason. Either someone was skimping on the cleaning, or they just hadn't come around–

“Lila?”

When she heard the voice, she looked up, and she saw her classmates...

… who had seen Scarlet Lady humiliate her...

… who now knew that she was a liar...

… who she couldn't...

She felt the tears coming up her eyes. She had had bad days...

… but this was the worst.

She jumped out of the fountain and ran.

“How could you?!”

“Lila, wait!” she heard one of the girls say, but she couldn't stop.

----

“Are you quite proud?!” Adrien yelled at Scarlet Lady.

“Yeah, uh, Scarlet Lady? What was that about?” Alya asked.

“Uhhh... O-obviously it's incredibly foolish to lie about being my BFF!” she replied, and for everyone it felt like she was trying to come up with an excuse. “Hawkmoth could target her to get to me! Honestly, it's for her own good that I publicly expose her so he knows it's not true!”

“I... guess that makes sense,” Alya concluded, but she was of two minds. Protecting her was one thing. But what Scarlet Lady had just done was something else entirely.

“Now, Adrien my darling, you can thank me for saving you by–”

Fortunately, Adrien had seen enough and had had the sense to start dashing away the moment Scarlet Lady wasn't looking.

“Oh, I guess he's busy,” she obliviously commented.

----

As Scarlet Lady left, everyone dispersed to return to their own homes. Marinette was going to do the same, but then her eyes stopped by something on the ground, near the bin.

“Huh...? What's this book...?”

Opening it with care – because it seemed quite the old book – she passed the pages, and was assaulted by images of people wearing impressive costumes, of animals floating next to them, and of objects. Everything in a strange language she didn't know.

But the contents were obvious.

“Whoa, superheroes?! A cat, a fox, a bee...” she could recognize Plagg in one of the drawings. “And a ladybug! She looks nothing like Scarlet Lady. So there is hope.”

----

He had to be honest.

He didn't expect this would actually happen.

Then again, he had met Scarlet Lady, so perhaps he should have expected it.

Her casual dismissal of the boy he had turned into Copycat was somewhat bad, but this rankled of abject cruelty.

Not that he cared much. As long as the girl was willing to take Scarlet Lady down a peg or twenty, he didn't care.

“Volpina, I am Hawkmoth. I'm giving you the power of illusion.” And wasn't that a kicker, giving her the same power as the Miraculous she had claimed to possess. “From now on, your lies will come to life! Make all of Paris believe you are a super-heroine!”

“Shouldn't be hard given the abysmal example they have go off of!”

Scarlet Lady had really dug her own grave with this one.

“Oh, I'm going to like you.”

This would be fun to see.

----

“What in the–?!” he let out, seeing a meteorite falling from the sky into Paris.

Gotta transform!

As he called Plagg to him, suddenly another figure jumped in front of the meteorite and–

“HYAH!”

– hit it back?

“Wha–? Who?!”

The figure turned around, and was revealed to be a girl wearing something that made her resemble a kitsune girl from the anime he watched.

“I am Volpina!” the girl declared. “The only superheroine Paris needs!”

He swore he heard people cheering on her, but he didn't care.

Oh God, there's two of them. Another ego-maniac to make my job hard, he mentally cried out.

“The %$#@ did she say?!”

Chat Noir nearly cried. Why was the world so unfair?!

The girl landed right next to them, and the first thing she did was to talk to him.

“Nice to meet you, Chat Noir! I like your suit~”

Great, another one of those.

“Uh, thanks?”

“HEY!” Scar shouted, forcing the newcomer to turn around. “What are you trying to pull with that 'only heroine Paris needs' crap, fox face?!”

Volpina didn't seem to care much for Scar, because she looked away and pointed in another direction.

“Hey, look, it's Hawkmoth.”

“Like I'm falling for that!”

In spite of himself, he looked in the direction she was pointing at and –

“Holy #$%@ it's Hawkmoth!” he exclaimed.

“WHAT?!”

“I mean, I think so. We don't actually know what he looks like, so...”

As he got ready to jump the guy, he encountered yet another problem: Volpina thought she could give orders.

“Scarlet, go left, Chat, go right! I'll go from behind,” she said.

'Chat'?

“'Scarlet'?! I give the orders, not you!”

Totally suspicious.

Hawkmoth had never shown his face in months. Even the one time they interacted with the guy, he spoke through a cloud of butterflies. Why would he show his face right now? Or at all?

“Do you want him to get away?! We have to work together!”

“As if I'd align myself with such a tacky looking person! Chat Noir is bad enough!”

Alright, that did it. Scar was bad enough. Scar and Volpina would give him a headache.

“Welp, I leave this in your capable hands, ladies,” he said, dropping from the roof they had perched on.

“HEY!” he head Scar shout, but he was fed up. He returned home and detransformed.

“You really left 'em, huh?” Plagg asked

“Oh, c'mon. Volpina is obviously Lila and that Hawkmoth is obviously a trap!” he said, stretching a bit as he placed him on the couch. “I'm too tired, let them deal with it.”

His phone chimed, and he quickly checked on it, looking at the list of recent calls.

“Oh! I missed a call from Marinette! I'll call her back.”

Pressing on the call icon for Marinette, it was only a tone later that she picked up.

“Hey, Marinette! Sorry I missed your call.”

“Don't worry, I guess you were busy with something. Look, Mme. Bustier gave me your work. I was going to show you at the park, but you left before I could ask. I'm here at your house's gate.”

“The work I missed? Sure, I'll buzz you in!”

“Thanks! Also, I found this thing at the park that I think you're going to love!”

“Huh? Something you found at the park? Now I'm curious!”

----

The stupid alley cat had left, which was bad, but at least she wouldn't have to deal with his incompetence. Now, she just had to get rid of the fake.

Who was laughing at her.

“Wow, even your own partner can't stand you.”

“The feeling's mutual!” she shouted at her.

“Well, at least I can drop the act.” Suddenly, a purple outline covered the fake's face, and the sky around her was covered in missiles of all sizes. “Let's discuss you handing over your Miraculous.”

Maybe she shouldn't have dismissed the alley cat so soon. At least, he was good enough to soak up work like this.

“What?”

“Everyone thinks I'm a true hero, and soon I'll expose you for the fake hero you are!” the fake crowed.

“'Fake'?! That's rich coming from you!”

“Give me your Miraculous or I'll collapse that building!” the fake shouted, with some of the missiles turning to it.

She just shrugged. She didn't see why she should care.

“So?”

“What?!”

She actually seemed surprised.

“I'll just bring it and everyone inside back when I win. No big deal.”

“You really are a villain!” the fake said, and she threw the yo-yo at her, grabbing her by the waist – until all the missiles and even her vanished in a cloud of dust.

“Ha! Her power would be super lying! I have to protect Adrichou from her!”

One good thing about being transformed – she didn't have to deal with a dumb bug that didn't realize her Adrikins worshipped her!

----

The moment Marinette came, he ushered her to his room, eager to learn more about her discovery – after she handed him the work, that is.

“So, what's this thing you found?”

“It's a hero book, check it out!”

And she produced a very familiar book.

“Wha–?! This is my dad's book!”

“What? Really?”

“I thought Lila took it! Where'd you find it?!”

“In the park, by the trash can.”

“She threw it away?!” He had been there! She couldn't even bother to return it?!

“Adrien~”

Oh, look, just who he needed to vent to.

“YOU.”

“Akuma?!” Marinette asked, shocked. He immediately stood between Lila and Marinette.

“Adrien, who's this girl?” Lila asked, growling.

“None of your business, Lila!” he shouted back.

“'Lila?'” Marinette asked.

“I-It's Volpina, actually! I came to prove I'm not a liar! I am a superhero! Scarlet Lady is just jealous of me.” And she put yet again the same face as before. “But this time she won't ruin our date!”

ALERT ALERT ALERT ABORT ABORT SILENCE

“IT ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT A DATE!” he shouted. Why the hell was Lila saying this stuff in front of Marinette?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

“Caught you, Super Liar–!”

And, of course, the one that was missing had to make an appearance.

“Dupain-Cheng?! Why are you always where you aren't wanted?!” Scar shouted, completely unaware of the fact that the only one he wanted there was Marinette.

“I could say the same to you,” Marinette replied, clearly being more aware of reality than Scar.

“Wait, you hate Scarlet Lady too?” Lila asked, surprised.

“I mean, she's the worst, you know?” Marinette pointed out. Lila replied by picking her hands and actually using her power to spread sparkles in the air, a situation both him and Marinette found rather uncomfortable. “I'm not helping you. I hate Hawkmoth more.”

Great. Now he had to cut his talk with Marinette short so he could deal with the situation.

“IF EVERYONE COULD LEAVE, THAT'D BE GREAT! I'll text you later, Marinette,” he promised.

“Okay~” that wonderful girl replied, and he hoped he'd be able to have one long conversation where he cleared things up with her.

Meanwhile, the other two just took up fighting with each other.

“Adrien, wait!”

“He said get lost, fox face!”

“He meant you, bug face!”

He closed the door, and was rewarded with silence.

“I hope I didn't offend Marinette,” he said.

“Just tell her it's one of your 'stress showers',” Plagg replied with a snicker.

“Ha, ha,” he mirthlessly laughed, and Plagg kept grinning like the cat he was. “Let's go take out the trash. Claws Out!”

----

In spite of Adrien's demands, the two idiots kept pushing each other around, so for Marinette it was a relief that her Chat Noir finally showed up to fight the Akuma.

“Nowhere to run, Volpina!” Chat Noir shouted, readying his staff.

“That's what you think!” Volpina replied, putting her flute to her lips and playing it.

Suddenly, the room was full of clones of Volpina.

“Catch me if you can!” the Volpinas said at the same time. For a moment, she was shocked, but then she swung her backpack at the nearest Volpina and realized it was falser than Scarlet Lady's integrity.

“They're just illusions! Watch your backs!” she said, batting clone after clone and making them vanish.

“HEY! She took my Adrien!” Scarlet Lady exclaimed, pointing at the terrace, where Volpina seemed to have taken a hold of Adrien and was ready to kidnap him.

“Oh no, Adrien!” she exclaimed.

“Oh, c'mon!” Chat Noir exclaimed, although him... he sounded more like he was exasperated.

The Akuma took off, followed by her favorite hero and the polka-dotted millstone, leaving her alone in the room.

I should return home, she thought, leaving the room and hoping Chat Noir would solve the situation.

“Mlle. Dupain-Cheng, where is Adrien?” Mme. Sancouer asked. “I have something urgent to discuss with him.”

“You'll have to ask the Akuma that just abducted him,” she replied.

----

For some reason, Akumas had some fixation for the Eiffel Tower, and Volpina had dragged 'Adrien' there. Chat Noir supposed Hawkmoth just liked the attention it brought.

Climbing up, Volpina held onto one of the platforms with one hand and 'Adrien' from the other.

“Give me your Miraculous or else!” she yelled, threatening to drop the illusion.

“Do it.”

“Gawd, what is wrong with you?!”

“I'll just catch him or bring him back with the Miraculous Cure!” And then Scar actually fucking cried. “My Prince will surely forgive my sacrifice for the sake of the greater good!”

He gave a very serious thought to revisiting that idea of grabbing the yo-yo off that bitch's hands and throttle her with it. She actually thought he would forgive her leaving him to die?!?!?!

However, he kept tight. The Akuma remained the first priority, loathe as he was to hold back from kicking Scar's ass from here to Marseille.

Instead, he tossed his staff at the illusion, blowing it with a poof!

“Ah! Adrien!”

And she actually thought it was the real him!

Calm down, Chat Noir, you can't murder her and claim you were just wiping a bug.

While Volpina tried to do the clone illusion trick again, he just glared at Scar hard enough that maybe, just maybe, she might drop dead of her own accord.

She either didn't care or was immune, because she summoned the Lucky Charm – a fudge ice cream bar. Which she opened, tossing the ice cream at him while she spread the wrapper.

“This Lucky Charm is stupid, but at least I can work on my tan,” she declared.

The sun reflected on the wrapper, and suddenly one of the Volpinas her eyes, dazzled by the shine.

“There!" Chat Noir said: for once, Scar's bumbling actually did something good! “Cataclysm!”

Part of the Tower collapsed, and Volpina fell with it, getting trapped between several bars in the process and leaving her easy prey.

“End of the road, fox face!” Scar exclaimed, causing Volpina to give a wordless yell of anger.

He could commiserate with her as he destroyed the necklace. Losing to Scar, of all people, had to sting.

Once the Miraculous Cure was cast, and everything was restored to normality, he and Scar were alone with Lila.

“You're unbelievable, you know that?!” Scar yelled at Lila, who was now trying to understand what had happened.

“What?!”

“Attacking my Adrien and prancing around pretending to be a hero! Pathetic!”

Hypocrite, he thought.

“Like you're one to talk! If anyone's a fake hero, it's you!” Lila grabbed the repaired fox-tail necklace from his hand. “You don't have to worry about me pretending to be your friend, because I hate your guts! ARRIVEDERCI, WEIRDO!”

Lila left them... and he knew there was a little problem: they were at a high platform in the Tower.

How does she plan on getting down?

He had just finished his shower when he heard someone knocking on the window.

Scar. Throwing him a kiss.

Ew. No.

Finally, the security system would come in handy!

He grabbed the remote – and slammed the inch-thick stainless steel curtain right in front of her face.

And it was. So. Satisfying!

Enough that he found it in himself to finally curl up with the book and try to make a sense out of it.

“I still don't understand why my Dad has a book he can't even read,” he said, as he checked the figure of a man that kinda looked like Genghis Khan wearing an outfit based on butterflies.

“Then... let's bring it to someone who can,” Plagg declared, smirking.

“Huh?”

----

Sneaking out of the house was getting easier – it was just a matter of knowing which corridors to use to avoid Nathalie, the Gorilla or any of the service.

Going through Paris was a bit weirder, since they were using the backstreets, but at least it was close by.

And Plagg led him to what was announced as some sort of masseur parlor.

What kind of masseur knows how to read this book on the Miraculous? Adrien thought, knocking on the door.

“Come in,” a man said, and he entered.

He found a Chinese man, wearing shirt, vest and loose trousers, sitting with his legs crossed on the floor – a man that tickled something in the back of his mind, but he wasn't sure what.

“Hello, Chat Noir,” the man said, smiling.

“... 'and nice to see you too, Plagg!'” Plagg replied, sarcastically.

The Collector

@zoe-oneesama Hawkmoth's power is naught but an illusion - one that will be dispelled.

So, we've got Lila here... and it certainly did go apeshit. At least, Adrien's finally meeting Master Fu! (Even if we all know it's going to be a bit too tense in the beginning)

Next stop, Trazyn the In-- err, Gabriel's own Akuma!

Ranking all Dcoms I have Seen

Hello friends!!

I-I’m…. alive?

So sorry for the long hiatus but, well, you know how school is (it kinda sucks)

Anyway, I’ve decided to start branching out from pure Z-O-M-B-I-E-S content, so for the return, I’m going to be ranking all dcoms I have personally seen with a little snippet of my thoughts about them. Alright,

1. Zombies 3

Amazing, beautiful, absolutely perfect, un ironically hilarious, great songs, out of pocket story. I love it.

2. High School Musical 2

Same as previous, but more gay and slightly less interesting characters.

3. Descendants

Best descendants movie by far, but Mal and Evie > Mal and Ben for sure. Still, a good watch overall. A really interesting and dynamic main cast too.

4. Teen Beach Movie

Very funny, great music. The only reason it’s below Descendants is because I viscerally hate the two main characters.

5. Adventures in Babysitting

I actually liked the Disney remake, which I didn’t expect to. It may just be because I really like Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson but who knows.

6. Princess Protection Program

Really liked this movie when I was a kid, although looking back I don’t really understand why. I wouldn’t want to watch it nowadays but I still think it’s good.

7. Cow Belles

Good movie, my mom and I watched it together a lot. Reminds me a bit too much of Liv and Maddie though.

8. Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas!

Honestly a comfort movie for me. It’s not exactly “good” in the slightest but I watched it a lot when I felt sick or anxious so whenever I watch it today it tends to make me feel safe. Also I really liked Good Luck Charlie.

9. High School Musical

I mean it’s alright. A little overrated considering there’s only like… 4(?) good characters.

10. Radio Rebel

Pretty funny at some parts but also just suuuupeer dumb. It’s fine.

11. 16 Wishes

Honestly everything Debby Ryan starred in kinda blurs together for me. Also this one apparently isn’t technically a dcom? It’s okay though.

12. Zombies 2

Good, but not Zombies at it’s best. That’s pretty much all.

13. Descendants 2

Okay descendants… you’re getting worse. You can stop here. The only thing I really remember liking about this movie is Mal and Evie’s relationship getting expanded upon.

14. Zombies

Yeah it’s okay. Not near as good as 2 and 3 but like, I’d watch it happily on my deathbed or whatever.

15. Descendants 3

Had one really good song with Mal and Hades and that’s about it.

16. Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie

Pretty good, actually. I really enjoy the Russo’s family dynamic so seeing them in stressful situations like this and how they responded was fun.

17. Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure

Worse than all the regular HSM movies, but it stars Sharpay so obviously it’s still alright.

18. Cloud 9

I think I remember liking this movie solely cause it had dogs in it.

19. Camp Rock

It’s… okay.

20. Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension

Yeah I didn’t like this movie. I mean, like I could watch it again and be pretty happy but I really just did not enjoy the plot. Reminds me of that one futuristic sci-fi Jessie episode but worse.

21. Frenemies

Uh… I think I liked this movie? I dunno it was okay.

22. How to Build a Better Boy

This movie creeped me out so much when I first watched it. Will never be watching it again. Had a nice song though.

23. Bad Hair Day

I don’t remember much about this movie other than that I didn’t hate it but like, I also reeeaaaally didn’t like it. So…

24. Zapped

This movie also creeped me out, less than How to Build a Better Boy did, but the plot of this one somehow was worse.

25. Teen Beach 2

Everything about this movie is good except for the ending. It’s like Bayonetta 3, amazing until the ending destroys every last bit of happiness your soul contained.

26. The Cheetah Girls 1, 2, and One World

I don’t actually know if these are good movies or not, I literally just don’t remember one single detail from these movies other than than that Raven-Symoné was in them (and don’t get me wrong, I love Raven-Symoné). I watched all of these movies one day when I was sick out of school and then never watched them again.

27. Invisible Sister

I think I fell asleep halfway through this one? I don’t know, but I’m not a huge fan of the two main actors either.

28. The Suite Life Movie

Literally so bad. Look, I’m not normally a fan of movie specials for shows, but this was the absolute worst. I wish I had never watched it.

29. Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam

Horrid. Horrid Acting. Horrid characters. Horrid Music. Horrid story. I hate it.

Anyway, there’s some stuff I would probably move around if I had seen more of these movies recently, but some I legit haven’t seen since elementary school.

Yeah I got TBOSAS right after it came out too and I reread the Hunger Games before I read it and then halfway through Mockingjay I discovered fanfic and so... I kind of never got around to reading it. But I read it recently before the movie, and as good of a movie as it is, it doesn't do Snow's unhingedness, judegyness, and horribleness enough justice. I just feel like a lot of that stuff rests in his thoughts yk? Like how he talks about how amazing Tigriss is but then immediately says she isn't that pretty, and other stuff like that yk?

I love your music taste, I rly love Taylor (ofc), I also really love Hozier, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, boygenius, I love them solo too but out of the three I mostly listen to Pheobe, and kinda out of left field but The Weekend. The kayne hate is real, me too!

yeah a lot of time the monologue gets lost onscreen, he's literally such an unreliable narrator in the book and all his self-contradictory thoughts make him a good villain because he has a certain level of self-awareness that he craves the power and control but the next thing you know he's talking about rejecting it and running off with lucy gray, but the thing is that without all those thoughts he can seem redeemable you know? except that it's clear that in the book from the first chapter that he is a dick and will continue to be a dick after that

oooh I've listened to some noah and hozier as well! not like a massive amount, but a fair bit. I've largely been listening to julien's solo work these days (and I'm a bit of a slut for her arms but that's unrelated ahdjkhkjhads) but I love all three of them individually and together.

hmmm that's a tough one since there's a huge amount of choices lmao, as of now it would probably be tough act by maisie peters or the grudge by olivia

Mother’s Day drag brunch focuses on love, positivity and inclusivity in Riverview, N.B.

Surrounded with love, loud music and glamourous makeup, drag performers put on a show for Mother’s Day with an important message

“You don’t have to fit into the male stereotype,” said drag queen Nova Gyna.

“You can play with Barbie and that’s OK. You can be the Barbie and that’s amazing! So there’s lots to play with and it’s just dress-up. We’re little princesses today and showing kids they can be whatever they want to be.”

Over 100 people were in attendance for the family-friendly event, which saw performers sing kid-friendly favourites. They also censored their stage names to be age appropriate for everyone.

“I want to try and break the stigma. We’re not dangerous, we’re not going to attack you or say anything bad,” she said.

The event was seen as a space for people to showcase inclusivity and positivity. For many, it was also a chance to be allies for the next generation.

Shelia Furlong was there with her two daughters, Stephanie and Zoe. She says being accepting is something that was a part of their upbringing.

“Just like with race and religion, it doesn’t matter your sexuality,” she said. “It doesn’t matter. It should be more about the person, who they are, their character, their integrity, not judging them or generalizing based on rumors, or out of fear or propoganda.”

“My mom raised us since we were very small to be accepting of everybody no matter what you look like and I think it’s very important to get out here and support people who are just coming into it and trying to learn things and make sure that there are spaces for these people,” Zoe added.

Stephanie, who is currently pregnant, is thinking ahead to the environment her child will grow up in.

“I think it’s very important to raise the next generation to be very inclusive, very thoughtful about what you think of others, what you say and how you treat people,” she said.

Open to all ages, Sabrina Matinez brought her 22-month-old son, hoping these experiences will help shape him as he grows up.

“It’s incredibly important for me to have him grow up and be super inclusive and accepting and understanding of people and their differences,” she said. “He himself is a little mixed, I myself am a little mixed, so being accepting is incredibly important to us.”

While Sunday’s event was a happy one, it comes amid backlash and hatred that many in the pride community are facing.

“For this event, we had a lot of hate online, but instead of having hate, just have questions. I’m more than happy to answer the questions,” said Gyna.

Recently, protests have been seen at pride and drag events and in New Brunswick the government is currently reviewing Policy 713, which lays out a minimum requirement for school districts to create a safe welcoming environment.

“It is very sad to see that they would review 713 as it was something that took a lot of effort to put in place,” said drag performer Anastasia.

She says the policy didn’t exist when she was in school and she remembers staying late to talk with the school board and fight for change.

“Honestly, it’s on the side of the government that I would like to see change,” she said. “I would like to see big names in the government stand next to drag and be like, ‘This is OK.’ That’s what I’d like to see.”

Both Anastasia and Gyna say they have seen improvements in New Brunswick, but a lot still needs to be done.

“I think it’s part of a trend over time that when rights are secured, there’s always a backlash,” said St. Thomas University Professor Jamie Gillies. “But what I find particularly problematic with the kind of hate that’s going on currently is that it’s being mainstreamed and largely by right-winged political parties staying silent.”

He adds that what’s being seen today with groups protesting drag and pride events is disgraceful and unproductive.

“My issue in New Brunswick is that it’s up to politicans and government leaders and community leaders to stand up to hate and I don’t see the premier or people like Kris Austin and Pierre Poilievre doing that. I think they see this group protesting events like this as potential voters,” he said.

Adding, “It’s up to all of us to fight for these rights again. I think it’s just a reminder that you always have to stay vigilant and you always have to fight for these groups.”

As for Sunday’s performers, they say they’re focusing on spreading positivity.

“At the end of the day, we’re just here to show our art, show who we are, and at the end of the day, the kids love us,” said Anastasia.

“We’re little princesses.”

8. what is the first book you remember reading yourself?

Two of my earliest favorites were Pippi Longstocking and O Fantástico Mistério de Feiurinha, although I probably read this pretty little collection with 5 or 6 fairy tale books that my grandma gave me before that, sice they were way shorter.

Out of those books the Pippi trilogy are the only ones I still own, which is a shame.

11. what non-fiction books do you like if any?

I used to have a lot of difficulty finishing whole non-fiction books, and the first one I remember finishing with eagerness and enjoyment was Angela Davis' Women, Race and Class. I was only supposed to read one chapter for an elective in college but it was amazing so I just kept going.

This year I actually read a few non-fiction books, maybe now that I'm not in college any more that non-fiction slot of my brain was freed for books of my choosing. I read more of the amazing Angela Davis (Freedom is a Constant Struggle in January and Are Prisons Obsolete last month).

I read a couple of things about Brazilian politics. Sabrina Fernandes is an ecosocialist and Ailton Krenak is an indigenous intellectual. I wanna read more by both. I definitely need to read way more about politics, I'm really clueless about it.

And possibly my favorite book of the year was The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow, which is a book about pre-history written by an archeologist and an anthropologist, gathering the last few decades of research in their fields to go up against the myths we perpetuate about (pre)history and human nature. It shows how diverse and changeable human societies have always been and how we've always had the capacity for political imagination and to thoughtfully and deliberately change the way we live (for better or for worse). Humans were always human, infinitely complex, and not a caricature of pure naive good or violent chaotic evil that serves as convenient origin story for humanity today.

You know how before reading this I was already banging on about how much I hate the Hobbes vs. Rousseau divide that's still prevalent in people's beliefs, and the idea that there's one set human nature, either good and selfless or evil and self-centered. The authors also counter that but, you know, in an actually coherent, well founded way.

The book also goes into how much American Indigenous thought influenced our current ideas about freedom, equality and democracy, and their intellectual contributions get dismissed as just Europeans lying and projecting onto a "noble savage" figure. People in the Americas did in fact have a lot thoughts, criticisms and theories about European society and their own once they came into contact, and Europeans did have their world view impacted by them, although frequently in trying to dismiss their criticism more than accept it.

I'm really going way beyond the question here, right? Sorry lol

I started reading Debt: The First 5,000 Years, also by David Graeber, and really enjoyed it, but it was really expensive so I haven't bought it yet, after finishing the sample. I do have a PDF, but that's bad for reading the footnotes, and I really, really love footnotes, I wanna read all of them as I go.

20. what are things you look for in a book?

I'm mostly drawn to characters and prose first, themes second, and plot and world building third. Characters that I care about or am interested in and/or beautiful language will get me through basically anything. It's okay if nothing makes sense, I'll just vibe.

See: This is How You Lose the Time War and Água-Viva / The Stream of Life by Clarisse Lispector.

Lolita is another example, I guess, since the language and caring about Dolores gets me through the horrors.

Also why I'm absolutely obsessed with Machado de Assis. Beautiful language and endlessly fascinating characters that I hate and adore.

Today was my bridal shower! And it was such a nice day! It was also just a lot of time in the car but I was happy and just generally in a good mood.

I woke up when James was getting ready to leave. Gave them a hug. And decided to sleep another hour. I did not actually sleep another hour. Instead I woke up because guests for the shower were texting me. Charlotte wanted to check about what to wear. Things like that. So I laid in bed scrolling on my phone before I actually got up.

I very much wanted to not be sweaty. Thankfully the temperature outside is dropping every day. And so I could feel alright. But the issue I had was I couldn't zip my dress up!! I was struggling!! I got so upset I had to stop and just go do my makeup and try to cool off. I would eventually get my dress on properly. But I was a little frazzled.

Anne wouldn't come to get me until a little after 9 so I had time to just chill. And that helped.

Anne and me headed out to get Callie and Charlotte. And it was a beautiful day and a good ride. I brought my crochet with me and it is no longer a blanket I think it's going to be a basket. Because for some reason I just have the sides coming up now. But it was fun to work on during the drive. It took us about 2 and 1/2 hours to get up to Maggie's Cafe and we only got a little bit of traffic around philadelphia. The rest of the ride was pretty easy. I think Google knew the traffic was going to be there though because we got there basically 5 minutes after we had originally thought we were going to get there because of the time estimate. It all worked out.

Callie fell asleep in the backseat. And Charlotte worked on grading papers. She read us some of the answers that her kids came up with and they were very funny because they were all trying to explain the same thing but with various degrees of skill. One child said that the native Americans were equally as bad as Christopher Columbus and Charlotte just said very loudly out loud "No!!!"

We got to the restaurant at noon and my mom and Jess were already there. We went to the back and I was so excited to see them. I really had a good time. My aunt Nadine and my cousins Audrey and Sabrina were there. Noelle would come late. And Raeanna would come a little later on.

I was just so grateful for everyone for coming out. My mom ordered some food to start. Salad and french fries and shrimp. And Jess ordered herself a cider but they accidentally gave her a beer. Which was very gross. And thankfully she only has a wheat allergy and not celiacs. So it wasn't going to kill her but we ended up giving it to Anne and she got the same or she was supposed to get. We had food and I got to open gifts. And everyone was just so nice. There were some laws and conversation. And because I think both my anxiety was bad, and Jess's anxiety was bad, and my mom's anxiety was bad, it felt very heavy at times. But overall I had a wonderful time. We didn't play any stupid games which I appreciate it. And at one point an old man came out and asked if we were having a party. We told him we were and he said he was 99 years old and a world war II vet and he wanted to play a song on the harmonica. And so he played piano Man on the harmonica for us. And it was amazing.

I had some nice conversations with everyone. And I overheard someone's down the other end of the table that seemed fun too. I didn't talk to the people at the other end of the table as much I feel a little bad about that but I will see them at the wedding. And everything will be good. And my mom being so sweet she got cupcakes from my favorite bakery. And then she had gift bags for everyone. So we handed out the gift bags and then all of a sudden there was a giant spider on Jess's bag. And Raeanna noticed and told her and I saw it and so I went to grab the bag to get the spider away from her because I didn't want her to freak out. And then the spider was on me. And while I was not happy about it and was a little freaked out I was able to just brush it off. Was very exciting.

We finished up the meal around 3:00 and everyone started to head out. Noel had to drive back to her house to give Evan the car so that Evan could go to his dad's bachelor party tonight and then me and Jess and my mom and then Charlotte and Callie went to go take pictures at the waterfront. And I very much appreciate that because I don't know why but we've been so bad about taking pictures of any of these wedding things. I think we did okay this time. But it was nice getting a couple pictures and I just felt really good.

A couple people told me how pretty my dress was and told me congratulations. And then we all said goodbye. I came back to Baltimore with Jess because she's going to help me with the market tomorrow so we loaded up her car and we were off.

And we had a pretty good drive out. It wasn't like crazy traffic anywhere we did stop at a rest stop so that we can fill up our water bottles about an hour away from home. And we just talked and listened to a little bit of music and I had a nice time. I was very happy to be home now and James was here and we weren't sure we were going to catch each other before they had to go to the theater to work a shift. But they were here when I got back and I was really happy about that.

James had gone out and got a canopy for us to use tomorrow. And they were obviously very tired because they just worked a full day and had to run around to get the canopy and then we're just about to leave for work again. But they got a bunch of stuff in the car for me as well because they are so sweet. I told them about our day and the gifts I got. Including a very beautiful rope for my aunt. And earrings that Callie made from me herself. Everyone was just so thoughtful.

James left and I had a lot of manic energy. Jess was very tired and sitting on the couch. Jameson made her coffee and I just could not sit still. So I started cleaning up the apartment. Just putting things away and trying to make it less chaotic. I hate having people over when the apartment isn't clean but there's not a lot I can do about it right now. Half of it is stuff for the market tomorrow and how if it's wedding stuff there's only so many places I can put things. But I tried to tidy up at least a little bit so it wasn't as embarrassing for me. Just said that I was moving around a lot.

Eventually though I would join her on the couch and we would just sit and watch videos on our phones for a while. She has what we were doing and I said we were doing nothing. But a little after 7:00 we heat it up some food and meet some rice and we watched some silly videos. And it was a good time.

Around 9:00 we started making up the couch for her sleep on. She went and got ready for bed and I would put some stuff away in my room and then I went to take a shower. Would you make me feel a lot better. My psoriasis is pretty bad right now. And so I used the very strong spray I have and it burned really bad but I have spots on my neck that I haven't had since I was like 5 years old. And I would really prefer if it didn't get any worse.

And James should be home by 11:00. And then they're doing the same thing tomorrow. Two shifts. Museum all day and then theater all night. Me and Jess are going to be at the market basically afternoon. And I don't think she's thrilled about that but I really appreciate that she's helping me. Because I am very stressed out about having to do all of this alone.

I really hope people come and do the printmaking and I really hope that people buy stuff. I hope it's just a beautiful day and we get to look at the other stuff that's being sold and the food and all of the stuff that's just going to be happening around us. I hope it is a fun day.

Prime Video and Blumhouse Announce TOTALLY KILLER

The slasher-comedy horror film stars Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, and Randall Park.

Prime Video and Blumhouse Television announced the upcoming slasher-comedy horror film Totally Killer, from Amazon Studios and Blumhouse. The film will star Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Mad Men), Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer), Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Life of the Party), and Randall Park (Always Be My Maybe, Fresh off the Boat). Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Young Rock, Don Wong) is directing, and Jen D’Angelo penned the screenplay based on an original script by David Matalon and Sasha Perl-Raver. Principal photography begins today in Vancouver.

The film follows Jamie (Shipka) whose mom, Pam (Bowen) is terrorized by the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer—a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the ‘80s. With the help of her friend Amelia (Kelcey Mawema), she travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mom (Holt) to try and stop the killer.

The cast of newcomers and established actors portraying characters in the film include Lochlyn Munro (“Adult Blake”), Charlie Gillespie (“Teen Blake”), Stephi Chin-Salvo (“Marisa Song”), Anna Diaz (“Heather Hernandez”), Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar (“Teen Randy Finkle”), Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson (“Teen Lauren”), Ella Choi (“Teen Kara Molnar”), Kelcey Mawema (“Amelia”), Liana Liberato (“Tiffany Clark”), Nathaniel Appiah (“Teen Doug Summers”), and Jonathan Potts (“Adult Chris Dubusage”).

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that Prime Video and Blumhouse acquired worldwide rights for the horror-drama and Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Nanny from first-time feature writer/director Nikyatu Jusu. Additionally, the two companies have released eight films in the past two years as a part of their “Welcome to the Blumhouse” series, including: Bingo Hell, Black as Night, Madres, The Manor, Black Box, Evil Eye, Nocturne, and The Lie.

“The idea of a horror-comedy time travel movie is, I’m gonna be honest, something I never thought of in my life. So when I was approached by the amazing creatives at Blumhouse and Amazon about Totally Killer, it was just so unique and exciting I had to be involved. Hi!!!! I'm so sorry I didn't reply again until now. I wanted to reply the other day but basically my ask got deleted halfway thru replying and I didn't have time again until now. I'm so glad you had a great time at the movie. It seems like you had a lot of fun and i'm glad you were able to see it again. I expected there not to be a lot of people at the last show since it was so late and it was an added show on Thursday. It did make me wanna see it again just to experience it with other people but I don't know if I will. I hope it comes to streaming so I can watch it over and over. I loved noticing new things seeing it up close. What did your friend think of the whole show? Sometimes I forget how incredible it is how Taylor created and came up with it mostly by herself..a true mastermind! I'm grateful that I was able to go to the show at least once compared to the people that didn't. It did make me nostalgic for my show but I also loved the surprise songs cuz it was like how the fans that have been there from the beginning since Our Song to now with You're On Your own Kid just made it special. Aww she really put it on and said it was her favorite!!! I knew about the cut songs beforehand but my sister didn't and it took her some time to realize any were cut. I understand some of them cuz it didn't have choreography and I guess the movie maybe felt a little long but also everything went by fast too. But that was the one that hurt the most cuz its one of my favorites. It's also the only single from the album so I couldn't believe she cut it. I love them all but my favorites are probably Speak Now and Folklore too, along with rep.

I never listened to Renee's EP cuz I was waiting until her album but I do plan to hear them together probably next week. The few songs I've heard so far I've liked though. I have to give Holly's album a few more listens as well before I know my favorites but which ones did you like the best? I also enjoyed Boygenius as well. Ya I am curious about the movie version but I'm not excited about it or anything. I don't think it would change much from the stage version, but I'm happy it's at least people kinda from Broadway. I never saw anything from Sabrina if she ever was on Broadway, cuz I can't remember..but I agree..she could've been a great Cady. I remember the stunt cast for Cameron Dallas and apparently he was so bad lol. I'm sorry you didn't get to see it on Broadway but I might see it on tour in a few months to compare it to the movie. I also heard a Waitress proshot is coming soon so I'm probably more interested in seeing that, cuz I couldn't on tour.

So one of the reasons I didn't reply to you was cuz we went to see Les Mis last night!!! We were trying to go on Wednesday but it didn't work out so I didn't wanna tell you I was seeing it if I wasn't sure I could go. But it was so amazing and probably top 5 shows I've seen. I would want to go again to have better seats and cuz there was a lot going on, on stage, that I missed. It was really funny though cuz I hadn't thought of the musical in a while but of course I still knew all of the words haha. It felt really fast paced and I wish I could've paid more attention or soaked it in more..that was kinda my first time seeing a sung through show, so it was a good thing I knew it so well lol. My favorite parts were I Dreamed a Dream, The Confrontation, Stars, and One Day More, but I really loved the flow of Act One. The barricade scenes were good too, but the set was pretty dark which made it kinda hard to see. Of course I thought of you every time they said Cosette! And I noticed it was a lot haha. Anyway I also remembered I saw Moulin Rouge on tour almost the exact same day last year which is a crazy coincidence! I only know that cuz it was around when Midnights came out..which is today and I wanna know how you feel about it when it first came out compared to now. I think it's grown on me a lot and I do love it way more now. I can't believe 1989 is only a week away! I'm so excited to hear new Taylor songs to react to..it's so fun and will be fun to see if we have the same favorites.

Wow cool..that's awesome that you met up at your show! You're so sweet to say that and I realized we have been talking back and forth for a while now. I definitely think of you as my friend! Sometimes I worry that I have nothing interesting to say but then I also worry I talk so much lol. But that's why I say you shouldn't worry about replying..but I didn't want you to feel like I forgot about you either. I really do enjoy our conversations and how we just talk about our interests since I don't really have anyone else to talk about this stuff with. It feel weird that you don't know what I look like or that I'm just online, and sometimes I feel weird about it. Books are something I'm glad we can bond over, since my sister doesn't have as much time for reading, and I'm excited to start the book soon. If we are reading the Night Circus too, it's okay cuz I can read two books at the same time but just let me know. I read the summary of those on Goodreads and it reminded me of Only Murders in the Building, even if I haven't even watched the show yet but it's on my list. If you've seen it, let me know how it is. hi friend!! hope you're having a good weekend 🤍 i saw something on twitter about it maybe going to prime, but i take most things i see on twitter with a grain of salt 😭 my friend really liked it — and is super excited to see her next year 🥺 i understand why a lot of them were cut (choreo, etc) but i was really bummed because i love long live and the archer and cardigan and - well, all of them. i was talking to some friends on thursday about how if we could change anything in the eras setlist in a way that wouldn't alter production too much (i.e. costume changes, choreography, speeches, giving her time to rest a bit, etc) what would we change and so i want to ask you the same question! what would you change if you could? i think i said i'd switch out i knew you were trouble with holy ground or red! i would personally also maybe switch all too well 10 for the 5 minute version, and then add our song or i'm only me when i'm with you (or both) instead, just so i could get my little debut songs in. but i do think it's pretty perfect and even the songs that i don't gravitate towards listening to regularly are SO much fun live. the rep set is SO good; we've talked about how it's not my favorite album of hers but honestly one of my favorite eras performances i think.

i think elvis impersonators, cocoon, and ghost me are in my top 3, but i'm not entirely sure yet! i can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on holly's album!! sabrina was only cady for like, two days so not a whole lot exists out there! but i really liked her take on cady. i feel like more often than not i am disappointed with stunt casting (i understand why they do it though) — speaking of stunt casts, i'm curious to see how jordan fisher does as orpheus in hadestown! i'm seeing the tour in a few weeks and i'm super excited to finally see someone who isn't reeve carney haha! and yes — waitress proshot! it was announced yesterday or the day before, i think! my friend texted me about it but i'm not sure if i'll have time to go see it in cinemas. hopefully it gets put on streaming sometime soon too!! i just remembered broadwayhd exists — there's so much on there that i haven't seen (that being said, if you've never seen daddy long legs the musical, i do recommend it because megan mcginnis' voice is beautiful and i just love her — although the actual musical content/plot is a bit questionable — and of course, she loves me and allegiance are also ones i'd recommend)! i didn't know they did a proshot of snapshots — john cardoza was in it and i really like him (i saw him in the notebook + really like what i've heard of him in moulin rouge + like what i heard of him in the snapshots cast recording) so i might give that a watch sometime! and i forgot they filmed the production of first date that sam barks was in! i was also just thinking of submissions only, which was a web series back in like 2012 and is pretty scrubbed from the internet now, unfortunately but i loved it. did you ever watch smash? now i'm feeling incredibly nostalgic!

oh my gosh did you have fun at les mis!!! i really liked the marius on tour (gregory lee rodriguez) — his marius is so earnest and so charming; i saw him in a show here in seattle a few years ago and i remember thinking he was a very likable actor so i was really excited to see him in les mis when i saw the tour in june! the barricade scenes are some of my favorites, but yes — lighting can be tricky! i've been meaning to rewatch the movie at some point as well, but it's so long and such a commitment. i was also ... doing a VERY good job of working at my les mis reread/annotations but then ... did not do that. so we'll see if i pick it back up or if i decide to push it off to next year haha. and no way! that's such a cool coincidence!

i really like midnights; i think it's a solid album — but i do find myself reaching for the 3am tracks over some of the songs on midnights proper a lot! it's interesting because my friends and i did a little ~ prediction ~ of our favorites based on names and i could not have been more wrong. i said lavender haze, anti hero, you’re on your own kid, question…? and sweet nothing were ones that stood out to me, and i do like them, don't get me wrong, but the only one i listen to A LOT is you're on your own kid. i think my top listened to midnights tracks/favorite midnights tracks are (in no particular order): yoyok, mastermind, the great war and dear reader. what about you?

you don't need to worry about not having anything interesting to say! i love chatting with you — you can literally come talk to me about anything you want! and you don't need to apologize for taking your time to reply either! and i'm happy to do whatever works for you reading schedule wise / buddy reading wise! i haven't watched OMITB but i've heard really good things and there's apparently a lot of broadway people cameos in the third season? which is fun!
