November prompt list challenge 2022, Day 8 - Kiss

Context! (it’s pretty long tho):

Eclipse (my eclipse, which I have been thinking to make it more glitchy but eh one day he will be better presented) has escaped!

Now free, he plans to destroy everything in his path. Being contained for so long has driven him mad (metaphorically and literally)

The first target is his companions who are similar like him, Sun and Moon. There is too many animatronic celestials in this building, someone needs to GO. FOREVER. (Jealous? Anger? Sadness? A mix of all and more?)

Eclipse arrives at the daycare, ready to kill something… the first one he meets is Y/N. A pathetic human that can’t be compare with the strength of a robot.

This will be a piece of cake. A toy to entertain him while the daycare attendant(s) arrives/confronts him.

Eclipse takes his time getting to them, creating that scary feeling of being watched, about to be attacked. But Y/N never freaked out.

Rather they were patiently waiting for him to strike.

Y/N noticed a shadow. Someone was behind them. Didn’t looked human so it must be Sunny trying to scare/surprise them, they thought.

Y/N wanted to turn the tables. Surprise Sun for once. Do something that will trigger him a little bit.

A kiss! They thought.

Simple but effective, plus it is harmless. Perfect. Neither of them thought that this could end wrong.

Until Y/N realizes that the one they just kissed isn’t Sun! And Eclipse is experiencing for the first time another feeling that is not hate/anger…

Patrick's speaking voice really is so wonderful!

I don't know if it's just from the literal decades of being a terminal Patrick girlie, but hearing him talk is like listening to audible sunshine, especially when a smile creeps into his voice when he's talking to Pete, or about music.

It's such an interesting contrast how soft-spoken he is when he talks, compared to how dynamic his singing voice is. It's just one of the million and one things I love about him!

i agree! not to nerd out on you but at this point in his career patrick's vocal technique when he's singing is so good it's genuinely fucking insane, like nearly ironclad, and i'm so obsessed with how you can hear that in his speaking voice too. his breath control/support and voice placement has like. relaxed into constant singing shape. so when he speaks you can hear a lot of those qualities that make him a uniquely skilled vocalist, just in a much softer casual mode, which to most people comes across as a very melodic and grounded and gentle speaking tenor. it's so great.

also don't even get me on his pete voice... the difference between how he sounds when he's talking to an audience vs when he turns around to talk to pete during the riff is so... like... patrick... why are you talking to him so sweetly... ough. yeah. he's very emotive when he's singing AND speaking

OKAY so the concept is. about 6 months post-canon, the main and minor families are invited to the destination wedding of one of their allies from a hugely powerful mafia family - it's a few nights staying on a private tropical island, and as a respect/trust/hospitality thing, it would be considered really inappropriate for guests to bring more than one or two bodyguards per group.

so Tankhun is like “well then obviously I can’t go?” because while he is now much better at leaving the house, he’s not quite ‘get on a plane and fly to a random island for several days of intense socialisation with incredibly dangerous near-strangers without a single Trusted Bodyguard’ levels of better.

he’s talking to Chay about it and Chay's like “yeah, it's kind of fucked up that everyone gets a +1 but not a bodyguard. how would anyone even know if your +1 was your bodyguard?!” and Tankhun's like “.....Chay you're a genius. Arm, I need you to be my wedding date.”

commence the fake dating shenanigans! they ‘reveal’ their secret, long-term relationship to the entire family, and then they’ve got to pretend to be a couple in front of everyone while Arm actually works as Tankhun’s bodyguard. as the only other person who knows their relationship isn’t real, Chay is helping to mastermind the entire operation. what Chay also knows is that Khun does actually have very real and Not Fake feelings for Arm - and you can be sure he’s going to be a menace about it.

luckily, Khun is being just as much of a menace in return - the wedding is the first time Kim and Chay have been in the same room since… well, everything, and Tankhun has watched them both silently pine for each other for long enough. background KimChay reconciliation era my beloved!

and so the usual fake dating antics ensue! lots of pining… plenty of acting out intimacy while wishing it was genuine… Chay putting them in so many Situations… lines slowly blurring between what is part of the act and what is real… and. obviously. there was only one bed.

Legally Blonde au with Steve as Elle Woods I love it but there are so many reasons I don't think Eddie would be in law school you know where he COULD be??

He could be the 'guilty' person Steve's team is trying to defend.

In a world where Chrissy was killed but no supernatural shit involved just a tragic run of the mill murder, and because of Eddie's stellar luck he's the one who finds her body. But when he calls the police, they took one look at the scene (Sweet innocent cheerleader, Satanic drug dealer covered in her blood because he'd been checking for a pulse damn it), they deemed it an open and shut case and arrested Eddie on the spot. His case hadn't even been allowed to go to trial first because everyone was so convinced he'd done it.

Then professor Holloway, in an effort to trip Steve up assigns him and a few other students he thinks don't deserve to be there (Steve's too thick, Nancy and Robin "just don't have the right outlook"=They're women) Eddie's case. And at first Steve is the only one who believes him. Robin is doubtful and tired of being accused of being too naive and Nancy points out the evidence against him would suggest otherwise, but Steve just... believes him.

So they take the case, and they're able to win after a long trial involving incompetent police officers, a town so full of contempt for a guy they'll very clearly lie to keep him locked up, a psycho boyfriend who'd fanboyed a little too much over some small town serial killer from the 50s and Steve falling in love with his client (Nancy says it's unprofessional, Robin argues its romantic). But they win, all thanks to Steve calling out there's no way Jason could have been at the pool that day because thered been a storm warning and outdoor pools aren't open on those days (or something else jock-ish).

Anyways afterwards, Eddie moves out of Hawkins cause Fuck that place and just so happens to move closer to Steve's school, Steve graduates (probably not top of his class, he still had Nancy Wheeler to compete with) and the two of them live happily ever after.

A (Realisitic): lovessssss doodling on paper. has an affinity for eyes (;]), swirlies, scribbles, and creatures. whatever he can get his damned hands on he will doodle on it and he will do it happily. my boy's an artist ❤️❤️

B (Not Realistic But Funny): honestly in canon ford's probably into music too much but i can see him being an period music fan. abba, queen (teehee), freetwood mac, david bowie, etc. that's just his VIBE to me, not in the crowley way but in his own strong inks and cigarette smoke way. i associate thoss things with him as well as anythinf existing before 1982 with him alot if u didnt know. i still see something and go "ford missed this 😔" or "ford didn't miss this! 😁" in a sad or happy tone at least once a day /srs. oh i love this guy

C (Heart-Crushing): this kinda collides with D but im keeping it in that category. soul crushing? ford never knowing what to hope for in regards to stan on the other side. whenever he has time to think about it, he isnt sure whether to imagine him in his house or dead in a ditch, and the mystyer honestly scares him more than he'd like to admit. ford kinda treats it like schrodinger's cat in a way--as long as he never confirms, it could really be anything, and that absolves him of any potential guilt. so. (also: that he celebrates holidays out in the multiverse too, when possible. makeshift menoras, pastries in substitute of bday cakes, lighting sticks during new years. just for the sense of grounding. ALSO alsohe's spent at least 3 birthdays in a prison cell or very hurt. so. yeah)

D (Unrealistic but FUCK CANON): has always stuggled with addiction, especially with antidepressants or alcohol. thus sort of snowballs into a whole "if this makes me feel good i cannot have for more than needed" but still ends upgrappling with it anyway. he suffered MAJORRRR withdrawlel when portal stranded and since then swore off it bc he drank the most under bill's influence. it's very important to me and i need more fics about it sooooooo bad, bc while i HAVE written my own, i think someone else is needed to do it justice. now that im remembering this i HAVE read some with this hc and they were beautiful and i need to reread them again and i need to REWATCH THIS DAMN SHOW SO I CAN READ AND WRITE SOME FIC AGAI .... also there IS some evidence as extracted by @/callipraxia (need to find that meta again) but i DOUBT that would ever be canon bc of the kid show rating. (watch the book of bill canonize this seven fucking months from now. i swear to god..../j)

I see your Arthur singing Frank Sinatra and I RAISE you drunk!arthur singing Mariah Carey’s Loverboy (the firecracker version btw) at karaoke. Dream a little bigger, darlings and give that boy THE RANGE. Drunk!arthur doesn’t just sing, btw; he PERFORMS. & maybe eames has only worked with arthur a couple of times at this point so it’s like whiplash. Super serious pointman by day, karaoke king by night. He would be CHARMED.

Ooooh. So... a man like Arthur--for all intents and purposes, an 'uptight', all stitched in, no nonsense kind of man--has to have some kind of outlet, right, has to have some kind of side to him that goes to bed, undresses, relaxes, switches off, as we all do --a head to his tails, of sorts. I personally like to think Arthur is far from prim and proper (hey asshole, 'cause that worked so good, he's gonna help us break in...). I think, indulgently, despite how he presents himself at work, Arthur is.... very not neat and tidy, internally. Arthur is a red wine day-drinking, moodily salad-eating, elbows on the table (it's canon don't come for me) shit-at-life kinda mess outside of work. And I love however that manifests in our interpretations.

Let's say he sings.

I feel like drunk!Arthur definitely has a repertoire. Arthur knows the lyrics of his three-thousand-strong song playlist. Arthur had the first iPod nanos (and still does) and maxed them. Loverboy, L-O-V-E, American Pie, sung when he thinks he has no audience, tipsy, erring on drunk after more tequila than he remembers, maybe at karaoke, maybe just packing his suitcase for a job, sat on the floor cross-legged, rolling his socks into neurotic little mismatched bundles.

Eames stumbling across any of these, though. Like seeing the man behind the curtain, in a way, suddenly struck by this weird effervescence in his chest, a strange tickle under his sternum he initially mistakes for his own awkwardness, not realising some part of him was being dug out and reshuffled, making room for someone else. And then maybe filing that feeling away. Maybe letting it simmer. I don't know. I think Eames would feel some kind of way, moved unwittingly by Arthur's "messiness", Arthur outside of his own self made paradigm? *chefs kiss*.

We need to talk about Achilles’s corpse weirdness more I think. Keeping Patroclus’s corpse in his tent, temporarily denying him a proper burial, in a selfish act of love and possession + desecrating Hector’s corpse and taking it back to the Greek camp out of rage. Eventually giving Patroclus a proper burial and returning Hector to Priam when he comes to ask for his son. Denying Hector and Patroclus rest out of rage and grief, granting them rest out of love and sympathy. Once his rage faded he was no longer getting revenge via corpse desecration, he was denying a family and a city their loved one. Returning Hector’s corpse was ultimately an act of forgiveness. Sing, oh goddess, of the rage of Achilles-> and so the Trojans buried Hector, breaker of horses. Do you understand. Patroclus and Hector and all of their loved ones were all suffering the same horrors of war, all deserving of love.

Basically keeping Patroclus’s corpse=selfish, grief-fueled love + burying Patroclus=giving up that rage, letting him rest even though it hurts + keeping Hector’s corpse=desecration born out of rage and a desire for revenge + returning Hector= forgiving Hector and sympathy for Priam. Also it’s kinda gay to keep your best friend’s corpse in your tent for days after he died lmao.

Lando: do I have to say anything here? Absolute menace, his happy energy and vibes never fail to cheer me up. SASSY SCORPIO that I'm defending with my whole being!! His sarcasm is probably one of his best qualities. Most consistant, skilled, super fast driver who gets mocked because toxic fans are immune to BDE.

Charles: meow-meow babygirl (with hot body that sweeps me of my feet...), suffering way too much in the grasp of Scwederia Ferrari. Shame on him for being loyal and doesn't pack his bags leaving them in the dust... He should be a multi champ already... Hoping for better days/years to come his way. He deserves so much better.

Alex: my underrated baby, wish he had more time to prove himself in rbr, but also not really. He was unhappy and doubting himself, where it wasn't only his fault he was underperfoming. Much happier, much carefree Alex, walking sunshine is back since he's with Williams and I'M OVER THE MOON

Max: think whatever you want of him, he's one of the best on the current grid, being booed, hated on social media because he's destroying the field, will never be okay in my eyes (yes, races are a bit boring cuz he's miles ahead but let's go teams, design a car that can keep up with him). Yes, he also said questionable things that got him cancelled, but who doesn't? Coming out of the shadows just to talk about the zam stream because why not. I was hearing bits and pieces about what was going on at the time, but I started paying attention at the end. The board kind of helped to summarize what was going on but I don’t know where I stand.

On one hand I really want to believe that Zam won’t betray Eclipse but he was really wavering. Especially at the end. He doesn’t know where his loyalty lies is what it sounds like to me plus I believe he said it himself. He had just resolved a ton of things with Mapicc and he doesn’t think that he wants to kill Mapicc anymore. But if he stays with Eclipse he will inevitably have to fight Mapicc. It’s just bound to happen.

But if he doesn’t stay with Eclipse he is back to being alone. He will have nobody since he is betraying Pangi by spying for Mapicc, he is betraying Mapicc by spying for Eclipse, and since he doesn’t want to fight Mapicc and he probably will be forced to at some point.. It is just a complicated thing.

But Eclipse is one of the best things to happen to him. They picked him up when he had nothing, they were basically his saviors, and at the end of the day, they are his team.

Of course this is all just my speculation on the subject and I am probably not the best person to be speaking on this but. These are my thoughts. I didn’t mean for this post to be this long but I like to talk about this kind of stuff cause this is super interesting! Ya, me coming out of the shadows. First post yippeeeee!!

thank you !! and yep it’s fine , although i’m not sure how much help i’ll be since my blog is only about 3 weeks old :’) but i just did the really basic things ! create the blog -> wait for your stuff to show up in the tags ( idk what’s the timing for this but for me it happened in a few days ? i was just here reading and reblogging stuff till then !! ) but if you’re talking more about the mental stuff like how it’s scary to first write for them then dw !! i’m still nervous now to post stuff LMAO it’s very normal and my go-to method if i wanna improve my writing is just to read :’) [read anything it doesn’t have to be the fandom!! i read actual books but it’s up to you]

#what really helped me were the nicest moots i met on here after i first posted :(#i remember art being the first person ever to send me an ask and it made me feel sooo comfy <3 #for me it makes me less nervous when i know i have supportive moots here :)#idk if it’s the same for you but yeah !!#i’m still very afraid of my characterisation because i think i can be off a lot of the times #but i think practice makes perfect so just go for it !! ^_^#sorry LMAO this was long but my 2 cents <3 #mail : anon !

uhhhh it depends. i edit and revise as i go and usually i dont edit that much, which is a bit why writing takes me so fucking long. usually if youre reading it, thats exactly as it looked when i was writing it with maybe a few grammar and phrase corrections and changes lol

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

not.. really? i write how i write, i write how i think and see things. the words i put on the page are there bc i think they get the imagery i wanted across best and i dont really think i have any stylistic techniques borrowed from anyone consciously.

though i will say that if i wrote more light hearted stuff, i'd have to go ahead and say the squire's tales by gerald morris, pjo obvi, the wondla series by tony diterlizzi, and, in terms of fic: snipers (if u like fma and wanna see the hp wizards get kinda owned for 80 chapters while ed cusses to high heaven, this is the fic for u), reasearch and smoothies, and this fic which helped me realize how much i love nonlinear narratives lol
