when ppl ask me what my favorite SCP is im always a bit conflicted because sometimes what they're really asking is "which SCP would be a good entry point for someone new to the series?" and in that case, after recommended the usual series 1 classics, i would land on SCP-4703 (which is a perfectly legal establishment, thank you very much) because it's hilarious and invokes bureaucratohazards, one of my favorite anomaly types
but if they actually want to know which essie pee has stuck with me the longest, it's easily SCP-4514. The Knife That Kills You. such a master class in subverting expectations and subtly building up hints that something is terribly wrong. i can't say more than that without ruining it. read it if you haven't already

Okay breaking my no-posting-during-finals rule to say that Aisha Laborn fans should really listen to Eidolon MONTREAL. It has another sterling entry in the "characters who go through life constantly being forgotten by everyone because of their powers" niche. Aisha and Illana Ramsey need to get together and shoot the shit about having to deal with their powerset. It also plays with Worm's trope of "powers that work by transferring things between parallel universes" to really interesting results.
Its a 4-episode actual play miniseries in one of my favorite RPG systems, the first episode just came out on the public feed and its really spectacular. Give it a listen if you like riffs on the SCP foundation and anomaly-of-the-week procedurals. Or if the idea of a bunch of people with Jojo Stands based on of Montreal songs appeals to you.

SCP-6013: The Leviathan of the Aegean
Tumblr media
Art by Valdevia
We are alone in the empty. Stars stare down, past the air, past the water, into me, my eyes, my skin. We know our place. It is here, always was. One of six who drink from bleeding fire, tumors in meat like a string of oily pearls. But there is only one. One to gestate us. This world is our Adytum. I will not let them kill it again.
Genre: Body horror, sci-fi, interactive fiction, xenofiction, wet, underwater yearning
Length: Approx. 17,000 words
Time to Read: An afternoon, probably
One-Sentence Summary: When the Foundation's contempt and biomantic rituals collide, a transgender linguist has to make a choice: do her duty to the world, or embrace the new, greater self that only a Sarkic superweapon can create.
SCP-6013 was my entry into the SCP-6000 contest way back in the summer of 2021. I'd been debating whether to write something for the site for quite awhile before that point. When I finally decided to give it a try, all of the advice I got said that it was best to start simple. So, naturally, I ignored it completely and wrote a conlang video game over the course of about three months. I had no experience on the site, no experience with CSS or Wikidot and no one brave enough to stop me. Now the SCP Foundation is stuck with me forever.
I wouldn't have been able to make anything that I've done for the SCP Foundation without the talent of fellow author and goop enthusiast @the-metaphysician. All of his work is scored with this meditative and dark undercurrent that I aspire to replicate with every word. Sarkicism has always been my favorite part of SCP's massive universe, and he's almost singularly responsible for its most iconic articles. Being able to add to Metaphysician's repertoire with SCP-6013 brought me so much happiness in an otherwise dreary time of my life. I look forward to making his creation even more wretched and captivating in the future.
The beautiful artwork at the top of this post, which depicts SCP-6013 in all her vast, undulating glory, is a commission from @valdevia. He's an incredibly talented artist and a super chill guy, and I have several more articles in production that make use of his work. SCP-6013 also contains a gorgeous sketch piece from the artist @demo0on on Twitter (that one's a spoiler unfortunately).
SCP-6013 is part sci-fi horror, part gay awakening, part puzzle game, all disgusting. It is a demanding undertaking, a pit of viscera explored in exhaustive detail and hideous depth. If you need something big to sink your teeth into, I'd love to hear what you think of it.
I hope that it changes you.

What are some of your favorite SCP entries? I think my current favorite is 5999!
I like 882 cause it's broken god and one of the earlier ones I read. I actually really liked 026, the vibes are great when I first read it. That was back when I first started reading the wiki.
Other than that I'm just super picky? What I cosider good writing, to my taste and good for drawing are all very different things, there are just not that much overlap. 2747 would be one of them I guess? Oh I like the infinite potato bag one, can't remember the number tho.

|| Reunited Event / @abel-uncontained ||
Site-19 was a place only spoke of in passing, as any staff would consider their death sealed in stone to be assigned to such a place. The anomalies located there were infamous for the horrors and danger they bring upon any unfortunate soul to cross paths with them. This was a place SCP-073 assumed he would fortunately never have to visit! Yet.. here he stood at the entrance to the large facility. Guards from the best MTF money could buy surrounded him as they braced for what could possibly go wrong. The stories about the various dangerous anomalies here and the staff trained to handle them was what likely led to that particular Keter-Class being relocated to such a place. The one he could never stop thinking about not by choice, and whom he’d arrived to see after so many years. There was no fear or anguish brought about by the other lovecraftian horrors lurking within these halls, but that tightness forming in his chest and the intimidated look in his eyes would lead bystanders to believe otherwise.
Deep breath. The guards were getting impatient. Stalling would only further to annoy them. Now that Cain was here, though, the one thing crossing his mind was how he could get out of here and back to the safety of Site-17. Confronting his metaphorical demons was never something he thought he would be forced into doing like this. SCP-073, preferably called Cain. A golden child of the foundation staff despite the dangers he posed. He could feel the dirty looks burning into his skin from the SCPs who remained trapped there moving through the hallways. They didn’t take very kindly to thaumial staff-favorited anomalies such as himself. He was never looking for a fight, though, so he kept his gaze focused in front of him. ‘SCP-076-2. Object Class: KETER’ was plastered onto the sign by the door where Cain was directed to. Of course, all of the staff were far too cowardly to actually enter the chambers along with him out of fear of losing their lives to unbridled rage. His brother’s reputation reached far and wide much like his own, much to Cain’s chagrin. The doors retracted back into the walls allowing entry. No going back now.
“. . Abel?”
He would finally speak up, a bit startled by the doors slamming shut behind him. The amount of eyes on them both were uncanny. This was a big event in Foundation history, apparently.
“I. . Dislike that our reunion is under such intense circumstances, but I suppose that is out of our control now.”
Small talk would get him nowhere. Ripping off the bandaid now would avoid the heartache of later.
“Sigh.. Say what you wish to say to me so we can both be done with this. I know you probably wish to murder me and curse my name. I want this to be over as much as you do.”

What are your favorite scps? both in terms of the concept and also the writing itself
Oooooooo, let's go!
As far as the classics go, SCP-231 is a masterclass in creating fear through implication. Mind the trigger warnings at the beginning though.
I love the concept for SCP-105: Iris because she's just a normal woman who can do one weird thing with one particular camera, but she gets embroiled in so many problems thanks to the Foundation refusing to leave well enough alone, essentially. Iris is a good character, she doesn't see as much use in more recent SCPs as she should imo.
SCP-1730: What Happened to Site 13? Is one of the early long-form SCPs, and it's very compelling.
SCP-2316: Field Trip is a great early example of just how creative SCP articles can be, and it will have you saying "I do not recognize the bodies in the water." randomly throughout your day.
Really anything by DJ Kaktus is a good read. SCP-6666: The Demon Hector and the Dread Titania is so far my favorite entry in the expanding Kaktusverse.
It would take too long to provide an explanation for all of my faves, but I'll include them below:
SCP-701: The Hanged King's Tragedy
SCP-999: The Tickle Monster
SCP-3966: Falling Out
SCP-001: The Gate Guardian and SCP-001: The Black Moon
SCP-4010: Attempt to Look at What We've Accomplished
SCP-1425: Star Signals
SCP-5001: Sacrosanct
SCP-5002: A Death in Containment
SCP-5236: Ethics Committee Inquest
Those are my top 14 or so, but there are plenty of other excellent ones out there!

I’ve gotten a little back into death battles, especially with Billcord, a battle i’ve been waiting for all my life, coming out.
One thing I really, really really don’t want to see is a Death Battle with one of my favorite games of all times - specifically Spooky’s Scary Jumpscare Mansion vs Dark Deception. Thematically I fell in love with it- but after giving it more thought I think it would be better for DD to go up against SCPs than Spooky and the specimens. A crossover between the two would be awesome, but a death battle type of crossover? Count me the hell out.
My biggest issue is…for most of the specimens is that you simply can’t scale most of them. Can’t powerscale what you can’t understand.
Opposed to DD, Spooky’s is a simple yet complex game…so simple it’s near impossible to grasp its complex specimens. A lot about these specimens are vague and are left to interpretation + what we’re given to scale them which isn’t all that much, I just don’t think we have enough information to properly powerscale these guys.
You are in the perspective of a normal human guy who gets an axe later game. That is all. The only way we can really properly measure the abilities of the specimens is how they interact with our protag/how the protag perceives them + the CAT-DOS entries + how they interact with their world (which is extremely limited). Do they get hurt by the axe? How much damage does the protag take from them? How fast are they compared to the protag? What do they do while chasing the protag, and what happens when they catch them? Stuff like that.
Here’s my examples.
Take Bab (Specimen 5) and Deer Lord (specimen 8). They are around 9-A according to the V.S wiki (which I heavily disagree with). You don’t see either of the two punch holes through walls, none of them fight or interact with each other, the main thing they do is give chase, warping your world and mind until they completely take you over.
We have some feats here and there, like Deer lord and his pocket dimension creation, or Bab’s ‘reality warping’/mind control, but looking deeper we don’t even know limits of their abilities. Hell - we don’t even know wtf Bab does to you when she gets the better of you.
This is all opposed to Dark Deception - a much more complex story that goes deeper into the characters. We’ve seen characters punch walls, fire lasers and ballistic missiles go invisible and other crazy shit.
There’s so much more I could say but we’ll be here all night.
to summarize
Powerscaling Spooky’s Specimens is dumb and wrong because we (the player) are too simple minded to grasp the full extent of these otherworldly creatures’s abilities - so scaling them with what we have now will lead to incredibly inaccurate results.
Even more summarized (tl;dr)
Spooky’s is too vague for people to be able to powerscale it and I never wanna see it in a death battle

been reading a lot of scps lately and i think my favorite kind is the kind with like, neat implications about the nature of things
some i think are kind of a mess, they get carried away with "what if there was a cool guy" and unless they can sell me on their cool guy (they can't) I'm fuckin out
scp-093, the red sea object, is my all time fave- it isn't perfect, but it does some really neat stuff with the idea of like, an alien intelligence abusing the structure of religion to get what it wants, and the changed world its decisions resulted in
but then there's fuckin... 4444, garber gore. what if a dangerous invading alien species was a fucking idiot. it's a funny way to take the 2000 election and make it into entertaining sci-fi.
666-J deserves to be a standard non-joke entry, I love the idea of a guy whose interactions with any and all vehicles are explosive devastation. it kind of takes my own anxiety about driving and says "is this you?" and makes me laugh at it, which is pretty cool
6599, which is literally scott steiner being so online that he manifests in your house and beats you up, is absurd from every angle- including and especially the fight with Damien toward the end- but it absolutely rules because it's a fun take on interacting with and rehabilitating the classic "internet tough guy"
finally, 5655 is essentially a wish-granting genie that sucks, and i love it a lot. in this case, a lot of the neat implications are just about where this little guy gets his magic, but in this one case, they did in fact make some guy that i like
now obviously there are some fun reads out there like the Tiamat story, and i like those too, but the ones that really grab me tend to be somewhat tightly focused on how the SCP affects things and why it needs/needed to be contained, rather than "it's a scary murder monster that makes you poop all your bones and it floats through walls"
not to be too reductive but practically all of the "what if there was a scary man" scps are like this to me
anyway the scp wiki is still a fun read after all this time, i just found it noticeable how after the 6000 series or so, a lot of the top-rated ones are more about The Adventures of One Weird Guy and the stuff he encountered rather than, well, what I'm looking for
but that's bound to happen in a decade of website, I'm sure someone will write something that kicks ass and post it like, tomorrow

Do you have any favorite scp groups of interest? And any GOI format entries you reccomend? I love a lot of those.
I am a Parawatch fan first and a person second. I think my favorite Parawatch stories are the ones by The Great Hippo, but honestly, I like most of them! I’m always fond of the fantasy of being this close to discovering a fantasy world, and the Avenue of having them be these easily ignored conspiracy theorists struggling to find the supernatural works well for me.
I used to have a ranking system for GOIs but it’s years out of date and I’m too lazy to fix it. I do also like reading Ambrose restaurant menus/reviews from time to time though.

Dimples, nightlight, shampoo
Ettie!! Thank you for the ask!! <3
dimples - most attractive features of a person’s face?
Oooh!! I feel like I always find myself looking at someone's eyes+brows the most? So everyone being in masks has been really great sdkfghkjdhgd
I also think smiles are really attractive, and if someone's eyes crinkle up when they smile or laugh it's like... double kill lmao >w<
nightlight - do you read before bed?
I do!! though half the time, reading before bed makes sure that I end up never sleeping, but half the time it works in relaxing me enough to knock me out. I think reading through the archive of one of my roleplays chills me out best, and the other thing that I recall working to get me to sleep is reading through SCP entries one by one dhjfkdfg (currently at like, 967... There's a lot that aren't very memorable ngl)
shampoo - favorite scent?
A favorite's so hard... The first things that came to mind are the smell of a clean cat or like, newborn puppy breath >.< Also very fond of the smell of a bubble/milk tea shop ehe

I have a few requests of some shows from my childhood:
Fairy Oddparents- Fae that grant miserable kids wishes? Definitely anomalous
Danny Phantom- From Danny himself to the portal to the literal afterlife, this show is full of things that go bump in the night. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Guys in White are a division in the UIU.
My Life as a Teenage Robot- I just think it would be a fun entry. I can easily see Jenny catching the attention of GOI like The Eight Wings of Mekhane or worse, Anderson’s Robotics
First off, sorry for not answering yesterday. I got a new bed and spent the whole day trying to get rid of the old one, vacuuming my bedroom of dust, constructing the new frame, and finally putting the new mattress. It was hard but honestly worth it.
Okay sorry enough bragging. As for your requests.
Fairly Oddparents - Nope, first reason hated that show even when I tried to like it. Second reason, fuck Butch Hartman, he's a scammer, Anti-LGBT+, thinks prayer can cure PTSD, and hates introverts like myself. Sorry but not sorry, the answer is no.
Danny Phantom - Aaah... Okay I DID like this show a lot but... Nope sorry I'm not one of those people that can separate the artist from the art. Sorry it's a no.
My Life as a Teenage Robot - Oooh! Okay now that is a childhood favorite, I have no problems with. Yeah Dr. Wakeman was originally a member of the in-universe skyway patrol but in SCP: HMF I think she would fit better within PENTAGRAM. The Cluster is definitely going to stay and be a Species of Interest since they're technically aliens. Some of the villains Jenny fought were quite anomalous so I'll make files about them too.
I'll just have to ask you to be patient as I'm taking a break right now and will probably have to take another during June if I get accepted for that job I applied for. So sorry it's going to take a while.
Shameless advertisement I know but, in the meantime, you can read any of my other SCP: Horror Movie Files any time you want and tell me what you think. Just because I won't be making any more for the week doesn't mean I can't use the time to edit them if they need it. So, if you have a critic then by all means, let me know. 😉

SCP-978 "Desire Camera"s extended test logs is one of the best articles I've read in the SCP fandom its so accurate to the characters and is so tragic yet beautiful in it’s entries. it offers such a deep yet subtle look into each and everyone of the SCP's. it's definitely my favorite article on the site

Last Halloween post!
See, I say that, but it might be a flat out lie. I don't know yet. Might get on here to gush about the new FNAF movie after me and the teenager go see it. We'll see!
Anyway, I've been binging on @scp-foundation-official goodness. Like, anything I can get my hands on. Ouroborus Cycle is still my absolute favorite, but the other ones are amazing. The Exploring Series is doing a huge, daily, SCP reading of the ABCs of Death. It's amazing.
I think my favorite, besides the aforementioned 001 proposal, is SCP-3989: The Bone Orchard.
There's something just so creepy about this one. Yes, it's got the intrigue and gory and horror you'd expect from a great SCP entry, but there's just something about this one. Maybe the possibility it could happen to any agent? Or to anyone really? If you managed to stumble into this weird, terrifying little pocket.
Or, you know what? It's the trees. At first glance, they look like a pale variety of apple trees. It's touching the cursed things that makes the situation go sideways. I shudder just thinking about it.
