i wrote this in like 20 minutes, but i wanted to post something since i haven't in a few weeks. school and life has been killing me 😀 i'm hoping to get more stuff out this coming week and if i don't pls hold me accountable so i do

will tugged his shirt off, ready to get himself into his gear for practice until he heard a gasp come from his left. the boy raised his eyebrow, following the sound until his eyes landed on ryan staring at him with wide-eyes. will quickly grew confused, raising his eyebrow, "what?" 

ryan covered his mouth in an attempt to hide his laughter while some of the other guys started taking notice in what was going on. will saw gabe and aram's eyes widen as well and the blonde suddenly became very conscious of all the eyes on him. 

"no fucking way. i never would've thought.." ryan started, still trying to hide his laughter. 

"you're losing me," will pulled his eyebrows together. the older guys didn't say anything, but they started snickering with one another at the freshman. 

"have you looked in the mirror recently?" gabe finally said. his words didn't make anymore sense until a second later when it finally pieced together in will's head. his eyes shot down to his bare chest, eyeing the pretty-looking purple and red bruises scattered across his chest and abs. the boy's cheeks flushed into the deepest shade of red. 

he totally forgot about those. 

"god, i had no idea hughesy could bite like that," ryan teased earning a slap against his head from will. 

"shut up," the blonde muttered. 

"wait, hughesy?" one of the older guys piped up. the freshman's eyes bounced to connor sitting in his own stall, lips flipping up into a smirk. 

"you don't mean—" 

"samy hughes? yeah. she's smitty's girl," ryan filled in the blanks. connor's eyes widened as well as some of the other older guys. 

"you didn't tell us you're dating the samy hughes," connor's laugh roared through the locker room. unfortunately, will's blush hadn't gotten any better as the guys kept talking. 

"they've been family friends for ages. been keeping the relationship on the down low," ryan kept explaining. 

"oh my god. we knew you had a girl, but not the girl. damn, smitty. better keep her around. she's a gem," connor chuckled. 

"considering his chest, i don't think he has any plans to get rid of her," gabe smirked as well. will just rolled his eyes, trying to hide his embarrassing blush as he shoved his warm-up on. 

"how many times did you guys do it this past weekend?" drew joined into the chirping making the other guys snicker. 

"i'm not talking about my sex life with you guys," will rolled his eyes again, but that only made the boys start hollering. 

"but you have done it before! you heard it here first, folks!" aram exclaimed. 

"i bet samy as an equal amount of hickeys on her own chest," ryan smirked. 

"no wonder why smitty has the best hands," that joke exploded the entire locker room. the blonde wished he could disappear in that moment or go back in time to where he didn't forget he had hickeys on his chest before he took his shirt off. 

"you guys are just jealous i have the girl," will shrugged. some of the boys whistled in response. 

"damn right you do!" one of the older guys called. the chirping finally died down and while will was incredibly flushed after all of that, he's ego couldn't be bigger at the moment knowing all the guys knew he had the girl and they were jealous.

later that night, samy and will's facetime call connected. the brunette grinned widely as she propped her phone up against something. will quickly returned her smile, "hi beautiful." 

"hi will. how was your day?" samy wondered. 

"oh, wouldn't you like to know," gabe quickly stuck his head into the frame. will's face flushed as he tried pushing his friend away. samy raised her eyebrow, amusement on her features. 

"will you stop barging into my facetime calls?" will said to gabe. 

"everyone in the locker room saw the impressive hickeys you left on will's chest," gabe got out as will shoved him out of frame. the blonde's cheeks deepened into a nice red again while samy's own blush appeared across her face. 

"i forgot they were there," will mumbled. 

"shit, sorry will. how much shit did you get?" samy giggled a little. 

"we gave it to him, don't worry. the older guys didn't know you two were dating. called you the girl," gabe cut in again. 

"the girl?" samy raised her eyebrows. 

"i guess you're kind of a big deal," will chuckled some. 

"good to know. makes me wonder how you pulled me if i'm the girl," the brunette flirted some. 

"it's a miracle, isn't it?"

OKAY, I think I'm done for now.

@electrozeistyking and I a little while ago talked about how GD!N would react to DAS!Cyn. They went on about in a reblog but basically he would be extremely happy bc DAS!Cyn is a separate entity to the Absolute Solver, therefore meaning she's not the one behind everything.

So at first they probably both would be extremely happy. DAS!Cyn in her own AU upon meeting N first is absolutely terrified that he might hate her after everything the AS made her do. So the fact GD!N would react very positively to her presence would be a huge a relief to her.

Now, the issue is that the "Dormant" in "Dormant" Absolute Solver is in quotations for a reason. It simply lost interest in her as a main host / had no need for her anymore. It still has admin rights over DAS!Cyn and she still has a Solver Form. Though she doesn't use it by choice bc of PTSD triggers (until possibly a specific point in Ep7 but I'm waiting for ep8 to decide).

So yeah I think that would make both GD!N and DAS!Cyn kinda anxious to put it lightly.

Well funny story.

DAS!Cyn always was comforted by her brothers core back at the manor, when they first reuite at the start of Ep6 and she sees DAS!Uzi summon her Solver wings and tail, her instinct is pressing closer to DAS!Ns chest for comfort. Her memories of the Solver features are very very blurry, but she is triggered by seeing them regardless.

I thought It was cute the girls have that in common, so I decided to draw them and GD!N sleeping with the girls having their heads close to his core :3

The first two are based on Zeisty saying GD!N would probably pick DAS!Cyn up and spin her around. Also you probably noticed between this doodle, the first drawing & the Tiny!N & DAS crossover post, but DAS!Cyn displays flowers on her visor to emote happiness!

The 3rd and 4th are just random interactions between the kiddos lol. I feel like Beanie probably would be happy to have another Auntie, not to mention one closer to her age so they can do silly kid stuff together. DAS!Cyn... oh boy

She would feel a whole range of emotions; grief about missing so much of her brothers life (like he has a kid ffs), guilt and self blame after finding out what happened to Uzi (she blames herself for everything the AS caused, even tho she never agreed to it) which might end up in a "slight" breakdown, anger at the AS for causing GD!N that kind of pain and eventually once she processed all those emotions she probably would be excited to get to know Beanie. Like!! Imagine finding out you have a little Niece!!

She probably would struggle to easily keep up with Beanie bc she still has motor issues like in canonverse so she's a little slower, so it'd be mostly her trying not to fall over her own feet whilst being dragged around by an excited toddler who probably even with child lock is stronger than her lmao.

Also I drew DAS!Cyn in an alternate outfit bc I wanted to actually kinda show the oil reserve canister,,,

Yeah, DAS!Cyn kinda didn't take it well either when she first realized the AS technically can still take over if it really wanted to after she transferred bodies in an attempt to escape. Imagine getting your core nearly crushed in an attempt to flee from robo satan just to find out entity STILL can use you for their bidding. Like!!! Damn that's not fair the kid nearly fucking died trying to break free!!!

DAS!Cyn definitely would want to spare Beanie the horrors too. DAS!Cyn herself is mentally like 7-10/11 at best 6-9 at worst -- despite kids usually just saying whatever comes to mind, she repressed most AS related stuff for a reason, she definitely wouldn't share what she knows with her newfound niece

I feel things would be either super great and happy or super traumatizing depending on when in the timeline we throw DAS!Cyn at them. If she's there during ep 6-7? Oh boy. Oh no. DAS!Cyn & DAS!N have an exchange during Ep7 that would not go over so well if it was GD!N in DAS!Ns place, because it would be awfully similar to GD!Uzis death -- she doesn't die, because DAS!N can't get himself to shoot with her being so close to the AS, despite her literally shouting at him to do it and that she won't be angry, that'll be fine. -- yeah I don't think GD!N would handle that well 😭 Zeisty feel free to get the angst train rolling if you wanna add your two cents on how that'd go over -- any point before that? Probably fine. Post S1? I'd imagine also fine depending on what Ep8 throws at us (except like... look at ideas list for more info*)

I'll assume that'd be Beanie reacting to seeing DAS!Cyn having the Solver tail and possibly the glitching Solver symbol in her visor. Yeah she definitely would try to play it off and go try and hide somewhere until she can get it under control again. High stress or negative emotions causes her Solver to act up (unrelated to the AS, just her own Solver form without the entity controlling anything!!) So what I said above to her reaction to the news of GD!Uzi being dead? And possibly finding out the reason why? Yeah that might trigger her tail and wings to pop out and her to basically be reduced to a hyperventilating ball on the floor because of proceeding to blame herself for all of GD!Ns suffering due to thinking the AS actions & it being a danger are her fault

Other things I kinda wanted to doodle but didn't for now, might do at a later point;

Cyn still has a Solver Core, which is the same as a DD core (except smaller lol). So I was playing with the idea of Beanie noticing that her core sounds different from GD!Ns due to hers being severely damaged and actively leaking after the AS attempted to crush it during the body transfer. DAS!Cyn then trying to play it off

Some kind of acknowledgement of the Oil reserve canister on DAS!Cyns back, it was made by Tessa before the AS did the medurder and stuff. It's supposed to help keep the Solver in check by preventing overheating, hence why its directly connected to her chest where her core is

There was something else but it slipped my mind

Smth I'm not gonna say publicly for now until Zeisty posts something about it and/or eventually posts the chapters bc I don't want to spoil esp not bc it isn't my place to :" (if you're curious, Zeisty, lmk I can tell you in VC or DMs lol) but it partly would possibly be related to the 1st idea listed

* I have an idea for what happens to Cyns original body (the one the AS uses & that wears Tessa) post Ep8 IF Ep8 let's me do it that is. I think it could be fun to crossover that idea bc of GD!Ns ghost sight.... tho it definitely also would be fucking stressful and trauma inducing bc Solver stuff sooo yeah rip (again, if you want I could elaborate in vc or DMs on this bc I want to first wait and see what the season finale brings before I do anything "official" with this)

GD!N reacting to the information that DAS!Cyn canonly shot "Tessas" gun at the AS (well technically at its tentacles. Point being that kid fired a gun/knows how to use one) -- which again could be very interesting if we were to toss them into the same Ep7 bc that's when she does it

Last movie: 9. A bit of a strange one perhaps, but an interesting take on a post-apocalyptic world brought to life in a style that reminds me of Tim Burton a little bit. Basically, the world has been destroyed in a war between humans and machines, and we're introduced to a group of sentient dolls, each with a number on their backs from 1 to 9, who have had to survive in this strange new world while figuring out why they were made in the first place. I don't wanna spoil this for anyone who hasn't seen it, so I'll leave it at that :)

Currently watching: I'm in-between series atm haha. Waiting for season 4 of the Boys, and just finished watching season 2 of 30 Coins. Might just do a rewatch of Andor or the Punisher to fill this void.

Other stuff I watched this year: Err… from what I remember (and yes, since we're only in January, I'm counting 2023 into this as well) I'd say Moon Knight, Andor, 30 coins, a rewatch of Supernatural (up to season 12), and the One Piece live action series. Out of all these Andor was perhaps my favourite, but I enjoyed all of them, and was pleasantly surprised at how well the One Piece adaptation remained loyal to the original works :D they obviously had to adjust some things but it still felt true to form. With Andor, I was hesitant to watch it at first because the last SW series I had watched had been declining in quality (weird writing, etc), however… Andor completely blew me away. The way it builds up to the climax was just so well done, the writing is superb, music fantastic, and it's one of those series I wish I could forget about completely so I could experience it for the first time again.

Shows I dropped this year/didn’t finish: I haven't watched many series I've not finished since I usually watch them to the end anyway, but looks like that new Percy Jackson series may unfortunately fall into this category?

Currently reading: I've been powering through the Harry Potter books. Started during the Christams holidays and I'm now on book 6. So far so good, though I've had to slow down with holidays being over. Might need to reread the Robert Langdon series as well after this as it's still one of my personal favourites.

Currently listening to: This changes daily but I do find myself drifting back to Riot music very often. So, that's music made for League of Legends, Valorant, etc. Not the soundtracks, but songs like Worlds anthems like "GODS" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3GouGa0noM) and 2021's "Burn It All Down" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z6CHioIn3s). I also absolutely love "Breathe" from the official launch video for Legends of Runeterra (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhKAJwlj04). I also like this vid for it heavily featuring Darius, the only champ I ever played when I attempted to get into LoL before the toxicity got to me and I decided it's not for me :3 (didn't take long, but left me with a bit of a soft spot for him lmao)

I absolutely do not play any of these games but man… the music is on point imo. Something again about chord progression, don't ask what my obsession with that is lmao.

Overall, I'm just upskilling in the hopes of eventually landing a job as a full-stack developer. NO LUCK SO FAR aside a couple freelance frontend opportunities :/

I'm noticing a funny trend where people are ragging on book fans for being purists but then turning around and using book logic to make predictions like, which is it? lol.

Like I don't have any reason to believe Armand will be book faithful when none of the characters have been faithful so far. So like wondering if Armand would work for Louis or wondering how it fits into their canon relationship is a genuinely pointless conversation to have. If it turns out he's Armand, the show is going to present it like BOOM AND HERE'S ~✨ARMAND✨~, whose backstory is completely changed! Whose relationship with the world is completely changed! Whose motivations are completely changed! Who has a completely different idea of immortality, faith, and family than we thought he would! Is he the same age? Was he preyed upon horrifically by his maker and does that inform the way he treats others? Was he so religious traumatized that he was indoctrinated into a cult and he's still this religious? And guess what, nothing is remarkable about his psychic abilities because everyone can do that now. And guess what, we already blew our load giving a bunch of his traits to Louis so now we gotta change him so it's not repetitive. And guess what, he's not going to hold the same power over Louis when they meet bc that wouldn't make any fucking sense to their relationship in present day unless you're telling us it's a long con or something which is like, okay whatever lmao. Because you're changing LESTAT this much, why stop there amirite lol. Like SORRY FOR THE SALT I'm never gonna get over what they've done to Daniel and anyone who gives even the slightest tiny fuck about Armand would understand how important this story was to him so like. I just don't think this team cares about Armand. This is The Lestat Show and they're marketing to the slowburned & blueballed Loustat shippers and the rest of us are just in for the ride I guess. :)

Stating again that it's not to say they can't come up with something clever to do with his character, regardless, and I'm sure it'll continue to be a fun show as its own thing, but. Yeah like. Look this is not VC haha idk man, what you want from me 😂

It's been three days. Fenris has been...almost entirely silent, speaking only to direct Anders - his bad knee, blind grief and uncomfortably silent Justice - away from some unforeseen trip hazard, or onto more stable footing as they make their way up into the Vimmarks. Anders doesn't know how much more silence he can take. (It's been a month by now. Surely they can't mean to keep him longer still?) Anders sets camp, taking time to set what wards he can think of: standard tripwires and anti-magic spells. Fenris does his own patrolling, though he doesn't say as much, muttering something about firewood. By the time Anders is done with his spellcraft, a small fire is already crackling in a little ring of soil-covered pebbles, snapping at the darkening sky.

Fenris gets up when Anders approaches, moving to his bedroll. Anders' voices gets caught in his throat, but he is not able to stop his hand from reaching to bridge the darkness between him and his one-time lover.

Fenris stops, and his white hair and lyrium are almost luminescent in the twilight. For a long, long moment silence stretches between them - filled only the sound of the mountains at night. The howling, mournful wind. A lone owl setting out in search of her prey. The trees, sighing their aches to the sky.

"What is it?" Fenris isn't looking at him. Hasn't done since -

Anders' voice is still trapped in his throat. His fingers curl, aching a little over where they were broken once (more than once, a long time ago). He shakes his head, looks down at his feet. "No, sorry, it's nothing."

Fenris lets out a sigh, explosive in the quiet, and steps closer. Anders watches his bare feet tread through the grass and scree, always amazed at how quietly he manages to move - even up here, where the ground crunches its discomfort at every footstep.

"Is something wrong, mage?"

"You used to call me Anders." He speaks without thinking, and regrets it when he does, watching a muscle in the corn of Fenris jaw twitch as he presses his lips tightly shut and slowly uncurls his gauntleted fingers at his sides. Anders' mouth as he breathes is full of the taste of woodsmoke.

Fenris shakes his head, and there's half an angry smile on his face when he lifts his eyes to meet Anders' gaze for the first time in - Maker, how long has it been?

Fenris' eyes are brilliant as emeralds in the dark, and they glitter with a tired kind of humour. "What do you want of me, m-," He stops, sighs, bares his teeth. "Anders"

"I- nothing." It's so cold.

Fenris looks away from him, down toward the tree covered slopes, shrouded in evergreens like a skirt billowing in ripples around the mountains. "I do not know what else I can give you." When he speaks, Fenris does so quietly.

"I never -"

"You did!" Fenris' voice echoes off the mountain slopes, and his chest heaves with the speed of his breath. Anders cringes, and Fenris leans away from him like an archer's bow releasing. "You never stopped. You never stopped asking for everything, from all of us, until finally you asked so much that -" Fenris stops, bites off the end of the sentence, and turns away from Anders entirely. "We both need sleep."

He walks away before Anders can reply. In Anders' mind, Justice's silence is one long howl of grief.

Well. That would be a redraw I'm doing of a piece from the summer bc Rory's design has changed a lot LMAO I haven't started anything "new" yet!!

14. How has your art changed over the years?

Oh boy. In almost every way possible, I think!! Save that I am still keenly focused on character art, from my love of storytelling :0

From a technical aspect my art has of course changed and improved tremendously from when I started drawing when I was still single digits lol the inevitable outcome of never really Stopping Drawing :V

I don't have records of old traditional art as much, so the oldest art I have that isn't toddler art was from when I was around 11-12 – those aren't these lol but I started using dA when I was a young teen, so I have those as archives of what I was doing digitally (the left group of drawings are from that first dA acct, as far back as when I was 14 :Y

I think on the more con/critical side of things, my creativity has been severely stunted. In part I think that's a natural progression of thinking as I've aged, but one I know can be combated! It just takes an active effort and approach to work creativity and whimsy like a muscle, and that's something I know I haven't done a great job of :'3

It's bittersweet looking at old art where I can see how much fun I was having and how there were no inhibitions, no worrying about things being OP or cringe or "Mary sue". It's heartwarming being able to see that passion in my own art, and simultaneously i feel a bit guilty n ashamed that I've let a lot of it get worn out of me by Life, in part by things out of my control;;;;;

It is DIFFICULT to throw those cares aside again! Almost all of the storytelling I used to do was in collaboration with friends I fell out with, and it was a bit of a slap in the face to realize last year/during 2023 that I never really told stories or built characters on my own, and it's been hard for me to find that joy and passion. I loved what I was doing with friends and miss that feeling of community, but I think it's important and I want to learn how to create and tell stories primarily for myself now, too. What's been most difficult initially is fighting against a feeling of embarrassment just while simply brainstorming – it was a lot easier to throw caution to the wind and just revel in the Fun of Creating Whatever when surrounded by ppl making things with me with the same abandon!! TTwTT when we're all having a good time who cares if anyone else thinks it's silly, yanno?

I haven't quite figured it out, but that's one of my goals this year. I love doing fan stuff too when the inspiration strikes but I definitely want to put more energy into working on My Art, and figuring out what stories I want to tell and the characters involved. so sorry about this being late... i know i promised it forever ago, but i've been really worried about whether or not people will like these headcanons until i realized it doesn't really matter lmao. though here's a disclaimer anyway: i've absolutely used my creative liberty with these characters, and you'll probably have one or two moments where you go "they would never fucking say that," or something along those lines. these are just. blorbos that have been rotting in my brain and i have finally given them their poor little meow meow backstories that have absolutely nothing to do with canon. so :) just keep this in mind with these headcanons, and any future ones i post. i'm just throwing my 2 cents into the fandom, even if they are a very niche 2 cents.

Favorite Lawmane fic I've written: I want to say Oleander just because it's my baby rn, but I'm also constantly worried that people hate it so idk. Liability was really easy and fun to write and still gets the most attention. Of the oneshots, even though it was my first fic, I still feel like cut open my sternum and pull my little ribs around you is one of the best, and I also have a soft spot for you grow me like an evergreen. Anyway I broke the rules of the question and named 4 fics but oh well.

Written by someone else: I constantly talk about this fic, but it's let's talk about sex, baby by benzaaldehyde, like without a shadow of a doubt. I literally didn't even like het fic before I read it, I was a slash-only girl. So it converted me not only to Lawmane but also to reading and writing about straight sex... Powerful.

Favorite trope: I like unhinged, codependent people in toxic relationships. Give me people who have never spoken to a therapist in their entire lives having deeply fucked up sex. Also a big fan of There Was Only One Bed, and generally just pining. Like, unholy levels of pining and shame--the more forbidden the pairing, the better. So I'll read like huge age gaps, power differentials, incest, whatever, not because I'm into any of those things IRL, but because they are the only things to capture the level of shame and self-loathing I want my characters to feel about their attraction to each other.

Also, this is extremely specific, but I really like fics about two people who had a strong but non-romantic relationship, where one of them was kind of troubled and fucked up, and then that person died. And then the other one goes back in time, or to another universe, or something, except now they're older and wiser and more understanding, and they see their old friend/rival/whatever except they (the time traveler) are in disguise, and they are like "I have to save them this time, I have to make sure their life turns out better" and they are super intense about it and just staring at them with love and compassion.

And it doesn't even occur to them that this could be seen as romantic, because their relationship before was so far from romantic, but the other person is like "Why is this random stranger so obsessed with me, I guess they want me?" And then they (the one who died) falls in love with the other person, because no one else has ever cared about them that much, and the first person feels conflicted but ultimately goes along with it and is finally able to make their old friend happy.

Anyway I guess I basically wrote a fanfic in this post but whatever. I have read multiple fics with that plot arc, mainly for Thorki and Snarry, and I never get enough of it.

Fanfic I want to see written by someone else: Mainly I want a few fics (Particles and Stormbreaker in the MCU, and Elective Affinities in the HP fandom) to actually be completed lmao. Other than that, I'm not really sure. I'd love to see more good Honey/Haruhi fics. And of course, I'm always down for more Lawmane. Oh, I think I'd really enjoy reading a Lawmane high school or college AU where Misa is very popular and L is a loner and she torments him by leading him on.

Fanfic idea I can't make myself write: I've had some interest for awhile in writing a long Wolfstar fic, but I haven't been able to work up the motivation because 1. It's such a huge pairing, I feel like everyone else has done it better and 2. I like writing first times, but my headcanon is that they started messing around sexually on the young side, and I wouldn't want to just skip over that, but I'm also a bit scared to write and post it, even though I post lots of other problematic shit.

I go back and reread your posts occasionally because I really resonate with your posts about Epic Romance that I think transcends some of the tropes fandoms evolve around (e.g. enemies to lovers) which I don't always find myself connnecting with. I am just a bit curious about something:

What do you think of the pairing Solas/Lavellan from Dragon Age? (I searched your blog for it just in case you already spoke on the subject but sorry if I missed it).

I don't know if video games are your thing, or if a Player Character changes the dynamic you're into, but I was curious because it's a mythic romance of quite epic proportions. I know you've mentioned you sort of don't like a blog that is into adjacent ships to it (I think when you discussed Raistlin/Crysania) or maybe I'm just reading into that hahahah, so I understand if that influences if you do/don't. What I like about it beyond the character of Solas is that it's a tragedy with potential for hope ('Our love will endure'), and I think that's something your speed?

Thank you for the ask! Yeah, same. EtL is only rarely written with the dynamic that I like, so most of the popular ships are not for me. I think I've disappointed a lot of fellow travellers by having zero interest in rivalry or frenemies style EtL ships.

I do play games, but I've only played like five minutes of one of the Dragon Age games. I've seen a lot of people talking about Solas and know he's the wank magnet tragic murder boy fav of the franchise, but I haven't gathered much of anything about the ship dynamic. I don't know enough about his arc/characterisation to say whether I'd be interested. But for sure, if there's an element of enduring hope, tragic romance can be my thing (so I read 5437540 fix-it fics).

I'm sorry I really don't have any thoughts to offer either way! :( If I get around to playing the game, I will post any ramblings I have about it!

I'm developing a fic for my long latent and repressed Cosmo/Kathy shipping urges, but that's like a radical departure for me on several levels lmao. Yes, I confess, sometimes I'll ship a couple of wholesome cinnamon rolls who have zero conflict because the banter is spicy and the vibes are adorable.

It's so funny how people are always trying to compare B&tB ships (like Reylo, E/C, etc. with grotesques or tragic heroes) to the Bad Boy/Ingenue/Nice Guy triangle and dismiss redemption romance fans as silly girls who haven't learned their lesson about being attracted to Bad Boys, because any example you can name of a triangle where the love interest is actually a Bad Boy, I ship her with the faithful friend (not a Nice Guy, but a legitimately nice guy). Like, I watched Pretty In Pink a couple years ago and man it was obvious she was not supposed to end up with Blane. I felt so vindicated when I read about the intended ending lol.

But anyway, I've been crying about whouffaldi again lately, re-reading some E/C fics, thinking of fleshing out/finishing some very self-indulgent E/C one-shots I made notes for, still wanting to write that Oh Hyun Jae/Soo Young fic that I accidentally wrote a kind of weird 'humour' prequel too D:, and as always trying to finish my Lokane fic finally. It has 2-3 more chapters, tops, and it's killing me I can't just get it done. It already has its main emotional climax, so I'm not leaving people hanging too bad, but maaaaannn!!! I swore a blood oath with myself I wouldn't start another novel-length fic until it is finished and this has lead to cascade of procrastination where I use it as an excuse not to do other things while also making zero progress with it. Agjkdfhdfd.

Also, I kinda want to add that extra chapter to my Bang-won/Hui Jae fic because I looooooove him and it's such a great pairing and I was pleasantly surprised how well that fic turned out, but it would be hard to justify and thus hard to find an 'ending' for it. It'd just be some 'stuff' pasted on lol.

Gina always auditions for the lead role. Gina will most likely audition for a lead role in Season 3. Unlike the other musicals they have done so far Frozen has two female leads Anna and Elsa instead of just one. If Gina auditions for a lead role in Frozen she will most likely have to choose who she wants to audition for Anna or Elsa. Who do you think Gina will most likely choose to audition for Anna or Elsa and why do you think that way?

That's a tough question, actually, and I'm still not quite sure I have an answer for you, so I'll just give you my thoughts and see where I land at the end of this post. It got a bit long (as per usual lmao), so I'm putting it under a read more.

After two seasons of Gina not getting the lead role she auditioned for, it does feel like season 3 is the right time for her to get the role she wants. In season 1, she wanted to have the lead because it was the best way to make her mark. It was the only way she felt she would be remembered at that school and the only thing she thought she could achieve before she would have to move again. In season 2, that feeling of "I need to make my mark" still lingered a bit in Gina during the auditions, as we saw her initially chose to audition alone rather than with her friends. She later admits in 2x04 that she didn't want the supporting role she got, which implies she still really wanted the lead, but we're never given any specific reasons for why she wanted it. However, we see her growth in how she supports Ashlyn as Belle and how she embraces her role as co-choreographer and makes the most of playing Babette.

I think, in order for her to get the lead she wants, the role will have to mean a bit more to her than just "it's the lead and will help me make my mark". It has to help her grow in some way. For Nini and Ashlyn, getting the lead was a huge boost for their confidence and helped them see how talented they are. Gina already has that confidence in her own abilities, so I don't think she'd need the lead to prove that to herself or to make her believe in herself. Her journey is more about her connection with other people and how she feels about herself in relation to them. A reason for her to want to play the lead in S3 could be that she really relates to either Anna or Elsa, and/or that she feels she would be best suited to bring that character to life (especially if she's already aware of whatever high stakes are involved in this musical when auditioning). Or perhaps Frozen is special to her in some way. For example, if she used to watch it with Jamie a lot before he left (we don't have an exact age for when he did so, just that she was a kid, so he could've still been around in 2013). Or it could be as simple as Gina not necessarily going for the lead this time and simply auditioning for any role, which is why she earns the lead. You get the idea. I expect this audition to show growth for Gina in some way.

Which brings me to what role I think Gina will audition for. As I said, I kinda expect her to get the role she auditioned for this time. I'm not ruling out that Gina will get a different lead than the one she auditioned for, though, but I find it just a tad more likely that she'll finally get the role she wants. So that leaves the question: do I think Gina will play Anna or Elsa? Honestly, I'm not sure. I think you can make a case for either of those characters, in terms of how they can potentially help Gina grow.

Anna seems like the obvious choice, as her arc in Frozen has quite a few similarities with where Gina is currently at in her arc. If I remember correctly, Anna spent a lot of her time alone in the castle and had to entertain herself, just like Gina was alone a lot and took up dancing before coming to East High. Gina has experienced rejection like Anna did with Hans, where they both misread the signs (which isn't to say that Ricky is a lot like Hans, obviously, or that there aren't also big differences between those two storylines). Gina has a complicated relationship with her older sibling and hasn't seen them much in a long time, just like Anna. And Gina is now finding out what it's like to have someone who actually likes you back and who's falling in love with you, just like Anna. There may be more similarities, but these are the ones I can think of by head (I haven't seen Frozen in years). Some parts of Anna's arc Gina has already experienced, so that's something she could tap into to make her performance more powerful. Other parts, such as the reconciliation with the older sibling by returning home together and figuring out what romantic love is, Gina hasn't experienced yet, so playing Anna could help her reflect on those things and help her figure out what she wants from Jamie and EJ respectively. Plus, playing Anna could give Gina the opportunity to act opposite EJ as her love interest, if he auditions for Kristoff. That could be tempting for her.

While Anna is a character I imagine Gina could relate to a lot, Elsa is the more iconic character. If Gina is still tempted to go for the character that would help her really make her mark, Elsa would be the more logical choice. Elsa, however, also has some similarities with Gina. Elsa's isolation and flight from her duties reminds me a bit of how Gina would isolate herself due to always having to move and how her first instinct when she's been hurt is to run and put up her walls again. Elsa and Gina were also both brought back by their loved ones to the place where they feel at home. But what's most interesting, to me, about the idea of Gina playing Elsa is that Elsa and Jamie resemble each other a lot, in terms of how they feel about their relationship with Anna and Gina. In order to really do Elsa justice, Gina would have to understand her mindset. And in doing so, it could also help her better understand Jamie, which in turn could potentially help her mend/strengthen her relationship with him. Season 2 put a lot of focus on Gina struggling with really getting into character and doing the "Yes, and" exercise, so this could be an extension of that arc. And it could in turn help her personal arc.

Having written all of that, I'm still not sure what I think the most likely option is. Both roles have a lot of potential for Gina and could bring a lot to her personal arc in different ways. And given that I can think of various reasons why Gina would audition for either of them, I'm also not sure what my best guess would be for who she'd audition for. It's even still unclear if she won't have this attitude of "I need to make my mark" anymore, as she could still feel like Frozen may be the last time she's on stage with the Wildcats. After all, staying with Ashlyn isn't exactly a permanent solution, and she really misses her mom. So that could be something that plays into her choice of role to audition for too.

I continue being amazed just how much of an effect starting hrt had on my sexuality. I used to think I was attracted to guys and masc-presenting people, but sike! My crushes on guys were 90% my debilitating dysphoria going gotta be one of my favorite genders, that.

I've been on T for 1.5 years, and in that time I've done something of a 180; I get weak in the knees for femmes and feminine people. I have zero wish to be feminine myself, but....girls pretty......

This has been (and keeps being) an interesting journey. I very much identify as "just some guy" but I can't deny feeling a massive kinship with butches and he/him lesbians. I present fairly binary in my irl life just for safety reasons, but everything about how I experience attraction, gender, and sexuality is profoundly queer.

This also goes to show how sometimes you won't know everything about yourself before the blaring alarm of dysphoria is finally addressed and silenced. I just want to give a shout-out to everyone who thought they were flavor A, only to later change their mind. Having the headspace to figure this stuff out is priceless. Obviously most people probably know their sexuality before transition, but I just want to reiterate that it's okay if you don't. Seems like I didn't.

Before life settled down, these kinds of odd and even contradictory vibes would have made me anxious. I would have felt like I have to pick one and own it a 100%. Now I'm just...kind of content to sit with these ideas. Maybe one will grow bigger than the others. Maybe not. All this comes before I even touch the fact that I'm some flavor of aroace. :D

I've become more private in recent years but maybe sharing this insight will help someone. I'm 31, which isn't that old, but I know I would have needed examples of older (not old, lmao) folks transitioning. Especially with the recent resurgence of TERF bullshit and hate against trans guys and transmasc people, I feel it's important to show that the people behind online handles are both more complicated than you'd think AND that they're still. Just some guy.

hi! i’m so sorry if this is strange, i’m just working on a story and i’d love a second opinion ^^’ no pressure to answer this at all! it’s very hard to explain without proper context so bare with me

i was wondering how you think nathan would react upon finding out he’s the only person who can kill a creature that’s been plaguing him and his friends for a while, in a sort of IT inspired way? most of his friends would be dead at this point, so it’d be like a heroic attempt to make up for their losses by strapping himself with explosives lmao

he’d be around the age he appears in the show but in a tiny rural town setting with no powers

it’s a little up in the air for me on whether he would do it and what could happen afterwards, i’ve kept this quite vague mostly because it is just a loose storyline i’ve strung together while listening to a song, but if it sparks anything for you i’d love to hear!

Okay, so first off, I'm flattered you're asking me, and secondly, this sounds like a really fun fanfiction. If you're comfortable, I'd love to read it! If you ever post it on Ao3, please feel free to drop me a link! I'll subscribe!! c:

As for your question... Of course, please do always play with him however you want! I'm far from any kind of... idk, definitive authority on his character LOL, and fancreations are your own sandbox, so I'd never want anyone to change what they want to do based on my or anyone else's personal interpretation of a character. But! My personal two cents is that whether or not Nathan would sacrifice himself like that is really down to how strong his connection with his friends has grown and if he thinks there is anything to gain or save by doing so!

Nathan Young is a character who loves living. He's the embodiment of the early 2010s YOLO motto and that particular brand of unapologetic, teenagery/young adult joie de vivre attitude is why I think the storm gave him immortality as a super power. The rooftop scene in the S1 finale is a great example of this and his entire speech about going crazy while you're young, even if it's dangerous, is actually a really solid look into Nathan's worldview and what seems to drive his impulses. In fact, I think rewatching that entire episode might help you get a better perspective on Nathan and how he might handle the situation in your fanfic!

So, that is to say, I don't think mortal!Nathan is the kind of person to sacrifice his life for anything without very good reason. In fact, I'd argue that he wouldn't at all without immortality as a safety net. He's kind of a coward at times and tends to dodge anything painful or unpleasant, be it emotional or physical. But let's look at the times he sacrificed or almost sacrificed himself in canon!

S1E6 - Falling from the Wertham Community Centre. Nathan does not know he's immortal here and he almost doesn't go back for his friends at all. He only decides to try stopping Virtue because he's been pushed to the edge and realizes how much his weird little ASBO family means to him. Without them, he's totally alone again, and Nathan hates being alone. Although, in fairness, I also do not think Nathan believed there was a possibility of dying in this scenario. Rachel was mind-controlling people, not murdering them, and he clearly did not account for the fact that either of them would lose their balance. I am unsure that he would have done any of this had he known he might not make it out alive... maybe if he had exhausted all other options? Either way, the key here is that he did take risks because he thought he could still save his friends.

S2E2 - Trying to save Jamie. Nathan doesn't think before running toward the burning car to save his half-brother. He could have died here because the ecstasy he took reversed his power, but it's unclear whether or not he heard Simon's warning or if it would have made a difference. Considering how blind the reaction looked, I don't think being immortal or mortal would have mattered. But, still, he was acting on the hope that he could save Jamie.

S2E4 - Almost lets Tim gut him. In order to keep his friends from being killed by Tim the Crazy GTA NPC, Nathan agrees to be killed in their stead. However, he has to be pressured into it by his friends despite knowing he will come back to life. I think Nathan would have deeply regretted it if he had let Tim kill them, but in that moment he was far more afraid of the pain of death than anything else.

S2E6 - Suicide for fame and going toe-to-toe with the Murderous Milkman. This is one of the best examples of Nathan's growth and how he has begun to cope with his power in an extremely unhealthy way. In this episode, we see him toy with the idea of allowing himself to be killed for fame (albeit not without a little bit of peer pressure from his manager), which he does on-camera. We also see him try to legitimately fight someone for the first time when he seeks out Brian specifically for revenge after learning Brian murdered Kelly. In both instances, Nathan knows he will or could die, but he's willing to go through with it anyway because he's immortal. Dying hurts, it sucks, but he's learning to see it as something unimportant when he's able to come back to life. Obviously, he wouldn't kill himself on camera without immortality, but I think it's fair to question whether or not he'd attack someone out of revenge for a dead friend. Maybe? I don't personally think so, but it might be worth watching this episode again and analyzing the scene for yourself.

S2E7 / The "Christmas Special" - Blocking a gunman from shooting his friends. I admittedly have some beef with the characterization and overall writing of this episode, but I don't think that this particular scene is OOC. In this episode, an armed gunman bursts into the bar where Curtis works and is about to shoot. Nathan wastes no time getting in front of the gun and telling him to shoot, who cares, he's immortal. It's all very badass until he's reminded uh oh! he sold his power and is actually mortal now. Realizing that, Badass Hero Nathan vanishes and he flings himself out of the way to avoid being shot (which gets Nikki killed in the process). Now, obviously, this scene is set up entirely just to fridge Nikki and you could argue that Nathan isn't as close to Nikki as his other friends, but I don't think that would have mattered. If Nathan, mortal, had the choice between jumping between his friends and a bullet or hiding... I really do think he'd hide.

Don't get me wrong, Nathan can be selfless and heroic. The fact that he's immortal does not cheapen the fact that he was willing to endure the pain of death and what appears to be a very unpleasant resurrection process for the sake of potentially saving or avenging his friends. Nathan's an ass, and he's regularly selfish, but he is not a bad guy and he sticks his neck out for people he loves way more often than any of them give him credit for. But I also just do not think that he'd be willing to sacrifice or get himself hurt if he had no supernatural "take-backs". If he sacrificed himself, I think it would have to be accidental, as with running to save Jamie; some great, fatal risk that he does not consider fatal because he's too wrapped up in an emotion greater than his fear of dying.

For your story, I think you would have to either push him to the point of not being able to think past a greater fear, or you would have to remove all other options from him. Friends gone, family gone, way of living, maybe even the rest of the world, gone. Or perhaps he's trapped, somehow, in a place where he can't return to the rest of the world? Maybe he's stuck in a place where it will forever be just him and the monster that's been hounding them. I think that he would have to sit with that revelation for a while, wear down, and then maybe he would seriously consider destroying himself to destroy the creature, if the alternative is too suffocating and grim to bear. Whatever the reason, without his friends to save, the catalyst for his decision would need to be something that directly affects Nathan, not people who are no longer alive.

Anyway, that's just my very long two cents. Again, fictional characters are up to interpretation and I think most any character can be pushed and changed to do whatever you want in the right circumstances, especially AUs. So don't let my opinions stop you if you want to take his character a different direction! The most important thing is to have fun and write the story you want to tell. c:

thinking about my boy oli and how i still think he'd be a terrible companion, but maybe not?

at the very least, i think i've kind of figured out what the... end choice? the actual major split in the road would be for his personal quest/arc. which, major spoilers for the ending of bg3, so...

but i think the real Big Choice in his companion quest would be during the 'who should become an ilithid' conundrum. majorly irrelevant if you trust the emperor, so maybe i'm not quite on the right track? because i'm not quite sure where else his story should lead other than 'has he come to value himself enough that he doesn't sacrifice himself at the end just because he thinks that's all he's good for?' and whether he offers to become a mindflayer or has to be persuaded or refuses.

because his arc/story, though the major themes kinda vibe with the rest of the group, is much more lowkey. he has no ties to baldur's gate -- that he's aware of, anyway, having spent his whole life thinking his mother was dead. not knowing she's alive and thriving in baldur's gate -- and no skin in any of the god/devil related shenanigans.

i suppose his patron could enter the arena and remind him of his own pact, but his pact involves him having to have a child before a certain age.... and, honestly, that whole angle does not sound appealing to me right now, lmao. i suppose it would tie into autonomy or whatever, but that feels like a whole ugly can of worms and i already have a plot bunny for that for later on, post-game. it's quite fucky!

but his whole thing is that, his whole life, he's been told that he's ruined lives simply by being born. he feels he has to make up for it by doing whatever he can for others. which makes him perfect as a completionist pc, lmao, it makes character sense he'd do All The Things. as a companion... eh, not so much? maybe throughout the game he offers to do some of the more dangerous things to keep the pc from getting hurt - 'hey, I can read the spooky book if you'd like. that way nobody important gets cursed, should it actually be evil!' 'hey, maybe you should let the bard try his dangerous procedure out on me! that way nobody important gets hurt!''hey, lae'zel, maybe you should let me use the ominous looking chair first. as a test.'(which, I wish that was a fuckin dialogue option, lmao) etc. but i'm...not sure how to make that into a questline

but the major themes of the others involve subjugation to others in some sense. breaking free from that -- or not it's a choice. oliver... his arc, as i'm conceiving of it doesn't really have that breaking free moment? or maybe i'm just looking at it wrong. because all the others' shit kind of boils down to 'do you see worth in yourself? are you worth the effort of healing/recovery? is reclaiming yourself worth the fear and possible danger that comes with eschewing all you've ever known?' or something around there. right?

oli... i don't know. he doesn't really have anything to break away from, at least not in the immediate area. he's already far from home. again he has no immediate connections to the plot or the city, other than his mother, who would definitely factor into his questline.

maybe he starts to realize that what's happening back home actually has been shitty for him this whole time, and he actually hasn't deserved it? he doesn't actually ruin lives simply by existing? maybe if he's not the leader, no longer the one who has to figure everything out for everyone else and so can distract himself from his own issues...he's forced to deal with his own issues.

maybe it's he's finally realizing he's never really been his own person? since his parents died when he was like... 5. the vast majority of what he's done has been for others. p much everything. he doesn't even join the party for himself but to help the others with their tadpoles. the same fuckin issue he has.

i don't know. kinda feels like i'm on the cusp of something, but my brain is fucky. i really do like the idea of the culmination of his personal arc being the mindflayer choice, getting to a place where he cares enough about himself to say no, actually, he doesn't want to do it. maybe to a place he cares enough about himself that you don't even get the option to persuade/intimidate him. he's more than what he can do for others. more than running himself ragged and making sacrifices. he gets to be selfish.

Main WIP: Finding Magic

It's a High Fantasy story, and I'm currently working on its 4th draft! Once that's done I'll ask a friend to read it, incorporate the feedback, ask other friends twice more and maybe then I can start trying to get it published?? Feels unreal but here we are. Story follows Runa and Laith who, after getting a strange letter from Laith's grandpa, leave their home village and go looking for him, accompanied by a Duskian (regarded as Evil, I used to have just named them demons and still need a new German name for them lmao), a unicorn, and a dog.

Seldnacs

Seldnacs are an open species by FelonDog over on dA, but they're original enough I'm putting them here - They're getting mostly short stories, but will pop up every now and then.

Started but currently on kinda sorta hiatus

Changes: This one, along FM, was one of my first stories and I definitely want to finish it eventually... Bear with me because you'll be able to tell it started when I was a teen lmao. It's kinda sci fi-esque, the story starts with a strange laboratory experimenting on mostly teens and children by adding animal DNA to theirs, basically creating beastfolk, just that it often isn't as pretty as most fantasy beastfolk. The characters eventually decide to try and fight/escape, leading to them having to figure out how to survive now that they look Like That.

Rainbow VN: An Urban Fantasy Visual Novel/Dating Game; it'll have six different characters, and the plan is that every character gets a Get To Know route followed by a route split into Romance, Friendship, and Supernatural routes. Quite a bit has been written for a NaNo once, but I gotta re-plan a lot of it.

Unnamed Horror WIP: Another former NaNo WIP, its first draft is pretty much finished but it'll need a lot of editing. It follows two kids whose trip to the local woods turns south when they end up somewhere very, very far away from home...

Solarpunk WLW WIP: Started for last year's NaNo, though I actually had to give up that year 😔 It has, as the WIP title suggests, a Solarpunk setting (futuristic but very hopeful, lots of Green Tech, etc), the protags are two older ladies (70s-80s) who meet and fall in love.

Fallen or Loyal: After humankind got sapience, the Heavenly Host split into the Loyalists, who want to follow God's Plan and lead humans back into Safety, and the Fallen, who believe that humans' free will is more important than safety. I've already written quite a bit, but I'll probably have to re-plan a lot of it and figure out where I wanna go.

Unwanted Transformation: It definitely needs a better title lmao, set in the same world as Finding Magic; a young woman got cursed by a Duskian to be in a dog's body for reasons she doesn't know, and she's trying to get a young Orc guy to help her a) track down the Duskian and make him explain, and b) get back to her friends and girlfriend.

Dracula Sequel: I may have Dracula Daily Brainrot, and a Vampire OC lying around with no story to be. I'll hold off on actually starting until DD is finished (vampire was originally a Van Helsing OC, but I want the story to follow the OG book more closely), but it'll be about revenge; a while after the happenings of Dracula, one of Drac's "children" (biological from before he was a vampire? Someone he turned? Idk yet) decides she's finally ready to get revenge on the people who killed her father.

Hyenas: I just really like Xenofiction and love hyenas; the story will probably follow a young spotted hyena who's just left their pack and has to join a new one, working their way up from the bottom, but naturally, there's now things threatening her new pack. I'm considering adding some fantasy elements (like, say, the yeens having magic), and/or including more hyena species aside from Spotted Hyena.

Rebels with a Cause: In a cyberpunk dystopia setting, a ragtag group of misfits tries to take the unjust government apart. Still gotta figure out a lot about what said government is actually like... Doing... Tho.
