EDIT: HEY this is a take of mine from a bit ago that I no longer agree with. No idea why it's getting some likes still. I am keeping the original take under the cut because I don't want to act like it doesn't exist but we have since gotten a lot more info from Tubbo about how he feels about labels and such, but even before we got that extra confirmation this take was not great. Sorry if this post is getting recommended to people for some reason!

One more thing. "Don't assume streamers are straight in the first place" can and should coexist with "Don't use words for them they don't use for themself." If everyone had started calling Tubbo a Gay Man after he put that emoji in his bio that wouldn't have been great because he's never used that label for himself. Like you can just be patient and wait until a cc is ready to elaborate on what words they do/don't like to use for themself (if they ever decide to share) you don't have to rush to find a word to use to tell the whole world a streamer may not be straight

Look at that! While Jim has already started his first modest Burger, Tracy is still working, but she's compressing this meat monstrocity into a nearly impossibly thin slice and, oh God! Jim's only halfway through his first but Tracey has just unhinged her jaw like a snake and is swallowing her meal whole!!! This is unheard of in all of competitive sandwiching history! No one has ever successfully completed a shaggy maneuver but she is Doing it! as a black fall out boy fan, i’d like to know if you think that patrick has changed his views on police since his incident in 2014. i feel like fall out boy stans never really talk about it and i’d like to know how you feel

tldr: since he surrounds himself with very left leaning people and twitter is Like That i think he just didnt want to say acab on twitter and deal with centrist/republican fall out boy fans. he shouldve though ngl

youre right, people dont talk about it enough. if im being perfectly frank, i think that exchange deserves the benefit of the doubt, at least a little bit, because of being had on twitter and the people patrick surrounds himself with. my immediate interpretation of what he said was more akin to "i empathize with the fact policing is a dangerous and difficult job, but its not an excuse" with the latter half not being something clearly stated but kind of implied. thats like, the core of acab. all cops are bastards not because each individual cop is a bastard but because the job description of a cop is bastard activity. you should be able to empathize with cops cuz thats a human person, but you shouldnt ever stop holding them accountable.

and especially since patricks a v empathy first kind of person, plus the fact he specifically is very in the public eye, like, 50% of the face of fall out boy, it wouldnt surprise me if he was either equivocating to not get in trouble with their management, (because theyve never really been on great terms with their label) and/or trying to explain that you shouldnt dehumanize people even when they do bad things (because you shouldnt and it makes it harder to recognize problems in people you agree with). that said his wording was very "not all cops"-y and unless he like, clarifies that hes definitely in favour of police abolition i dont fault anyone for being wary, because the nature of the way he said it meant he explicitly would not seem outright opposed to policing.

that being said, if he was at some point not fully sold on police abolition or at LEAST reform, i doubt andy hurley would let that slide for very long. in fact i doubt ANYONE in fall out boy would let it slide for very long. their politics dont often come up in many interviews but at several points in smaller interviews or personal projects pete, joe, and andy have been vocally very left leaning. hell patrick has his moments too! thats why im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in terms of this exchange.

considering that theyre all like, genuinely best friends, and like even their guitar tech and photographer and hey chris all post some pretty radical stuff on their stories (all folks they are Also on good terms with with), it really seems to me that its more that he cant get away with saying radical stuff like andy or joe can, and is not willing to cause a scene like pete sometimes is, and saying acab on twitter in front of all his followers might rock the boat in a way that makes it harder to sneak people on it in the future.

this isnt to say he didnt do anything wrong, i think this was a situation in which saying the right thing with your whole chest wouldve been ideal, and again, i really cannot fault anyone for feeling like it was very hashtags not all cops, because unfortunately the conversation of "racists are people just like us and we shouldnt forget that when we are confronted with consequences of our bad actions" looks very similar to "racists are people just like us which means we shouldnt make them deal with the consequences of their bad actions" especially since the former is Extremely Rare in the wild.

*kicks down door* HELLO IN THIS ESSAY I WILL BE ONLY TALKING ABOUT RWBY OKAY ON TO THE ESSAY (all dsmp folks referenced is talking about there character) okay SO, im actually gonna start with is this life is mine (by jeff williams feat casey lee williams) because its a fantastic song for all four manipulated minors (tm), plus some other characters. so basic premise of the song: the singer is monologing to/about an unheard antagonist, talking about what the antag has done to them, how theyve made their life suck and made them feel powerless and taken their autonomy and stuff like that. this song is pretty much the singer/narrator saying no more, ive had it, im down, this is where the bullshit youve done to me ends, im my own person and you cannot take that from me anymore. hence the name, this life is mine. so, from that, you can already guess the first character id slap this song onto. our beloved protagonist, c!tommyinnit. and it works really well for him. HOWEVER i did say it works for all the manipulated minors, not just tommy; so now, im gonna actually bring out just like a little bit of the lyrics! (important thing about most of the songs ill be talking about: alot of it is designed as fight scene music, which is pretty cool, but like none of these are like super sad and slow for very long if at all. just wanted to note that) 1.{There’s a part of me that’s desperate for changes; Tired of being treated like a pawn; But there’s a part of me that stares back; From inside the mirror; Part of me that’s scared I might be wrong; That I can’t be strong} 1. this first (second stanza?) bit i like to think of as like, tommys thoughts when he was in exile and starting to realize that it was fuck and he needed to leave but was still super unsure, cause yknow, emotional abuse, innit.

2. {I’ve been afraid, never standing on my own; I let you be the keeper of my pride; Believed you when you told me I was nothing on my own; Listen when I say; I swear it here today; I will not surrender, this life is mine} 2. now this second bit (third stanza? idk) can either go to tommy OR tubbo. clingy duo russian roulette. which ones gotta dependency issues, had his power taken and abilities ridiculed? YOU DECIDED. haha, but yeah this is sorta where you can start to see what i mean that it can apply to many characters.

3. {Amazing how you conquered me; Chained me in servility and made me see; The world the way you told me to; But I was young and didn’t have a way to know the truth; Born to live your legacy; Existing just to fill your needs, a casualty Of this so-called family that you have turned into a travesty} 3. alright so, this is where i put myself on a silly little hill and swing a bat at a hornet nest: this bit can, not only be taken as tubbo talking to the ghost of the past presidents of lmanburg, tommy telling dream to go eat shit, but also tommy telling technoblade and wilbur off. yeah yeah vilburs a cringe headcanon yada yada. HOWEVER its very canon that wilbur was not the best role model for tommy, as 1. wilburs spiral after the pressure of his presidency and the election being the straw that breaks the camels back lead to him having a worsening mental state that, really, tommy shouldnt have felt responsible for trying to fix him (you cant fix him besty hes an adult, he shouldnt be relying on you in the first place, thats not healthy) AND 2 tommys statement about wilbur getting into peoples heads and making it hard to actually think about stuff and instead just going along with wilburs whims and stuff because of proverbial rose colored lenses, is kinda true. does this automatically villianize wilbur, in my opinion, no. its just something tommy realized and doesnt feel comfortable having to go through again, considering he already had all of his autonomy violently stripped from him before. and also tommy probably just not wanting to follow wilbur around again like his little loyal sheep. we should really consider the effects of exile on how tommy interacts with other characters a lot more. MOVING ON 4. this next bit can pretty much be slapped with any of the four manipulated minors, although ranboo less so, cause hes just like that.

Well, i accidentally deleted the original graduation character list post, so here i am making another one. Oops. And as always, if anyone has important details i should add then feel free to suggest them!

Hieronymous Wiggenstaff (he/him): Head of the Hero/Villain school. at least 400 years old. wears shining blue armor with gold accents. also an elf. according to Tomas, he led the charge at the "battle of blood valley", brought the Kingdoms of Rickart and Dawnbreak to a peace treaty, and founded the school. a little boastful, a little prideful, [SPOILERS OMITTED], and overall a pretty good dude.

Higglemas Wiggenstaff (he/him): Head of the Sidekick/Henchperson annex, cranky old elf. has a dog named hero who shows no signs of anything strange at all, ever. 

Gary (he/him): friendly room gargoyle. pseudo-hivemind.

Groundsy (he/him): the groundskeeper. a pretty nice fellow. don't go in his shed.

Hernandez (he/him): beautiful centaur professor of animal handling.

Jimson (he/him): human battlegrounds trainer for sidekicks/henchpeople, world famous featherweight champion, wields a staff. married to crushman.

Crushman (he/him): silver dragonborn with a sickle, and self-described beefy boy! heavyweight blood champion married to jimson. never lost a match for 8 years. full name Frostus Crushman.

Rolandus Fontaine (he/him): former prince, son of deposed king, kind of an asshole, maybe. wears a cape (important detail)

Zana (she/her): "terrifying" tiefling villain sorcerer, friend of rolandus. barkept the test tavern in ep2

Rhodes (she/her): hero ranger, friend of rolandus.

Buckminster Eden (he/him): hero guy. son of "The Iron Lord". their dad is stronger than rolandus's dad. his wiki page says rogue so i think hes a rogue? i never caught that and ive listened more times than i wish i did

Leon (he/him): softspoken buff, bald "fighter" (although i dont remember any clarification on how exactly he fights), sidekick of buckminster, around 28. anyone else keep forgetting he's bald? i keep forgetting it. >!gets sorta-drafted into becoming a falcon for higglemas and so far hasn't done much else.!<

Rainer Michelle (she/her): cheerful villainous necromancer with a floating chair. also, her name is pronounced "rainier" despite not being confirmed as such? travis ships her with fitzroy.

Tomas (he/him): human man with "kind eyes" and a good (psychic???) memory. guidance counselor.

Stewart LeBoeuf (he/him): brawny human man. serves food. there is no joke here, i promise

Mulligan (he/him): teaches potions. mentioned but doesn't appear yet. and we're like 25 episodes in. maybe we'll see him someday

Germaine, Victoria, Rattles (he/him,she/her,???/???): Skeleton crew. They live in the training room i guess, and as a result can never die, because "no one dies in the training room!" (note: someone now HAS to die in the training room). also their races are never explicitly stated but i guess they're probably human? in episode 3 travis brings up something about how many bones are in "the human body" and at this point i think i'm looking too deep into this so i'll just forget about it and you probably should too.

Festo (they/them): fairy with "beautiful gossamer wings", independent study teacher of magic, loves to party

Snippers (he/him?): Let me tell you my story about Snippers the magic crab. When Travis gave the list of animals that Griffin could choose as Fitzroy's familiar's current form, he listed crab near the start, and this gave me excitement. Now i knew that crab was pretty unlikely but god i hoped that he would choose it. When the list went on- Bat, Cat, Crab, Frog, Hawk, Lizard, Owl, Poisonous Snake, Fish, Rat, Raven, Seahorse, Spider or Weasel- I nearly lost hope. I was hoping so hard that Griffin would choose the crab, but i was ready to accept a non-crab familiar. It was just buried in that list. It wasn't the most useful animal and it was an obscure pick. And as Travis informed him that it didn't have to keep the form for the whole campaign, Griffin said those five words i wanted to hear so, so badly. "Well then it's a crab." Folks, I do not often react physically when something happens in media. But in that moment, i remember very clearly, i fist-pumped and yelled, "YES!!!!!!"

so anyway, Fitzroy has a crab.

Jackle (he/him): kenku teacher of sneakery. creepy dude. apparently knows something about argo? also his name is not spelled "jackal" for some reason. Also in later episodes theyve started calling him "The Jackle" for some reason??? *

Dakota (they/them): tavern instructor, clad in black/red leather. no race stated? probably human. *

Gerry & Tom (she/her, he/him): shopkeepers at barns and nobles who seem to have very bad names. also constantly competing for customers? these guys got dropped faster than the heathcliff quests, which is honestly just sad.

Barb (she/her): the bartender. runs Springs Eternal in Last Hope. has a sweet seeing-eye hawk familiar. 

Jaryd Reginald (he/him): owner of Reginald Ore. Wants the workers to be held responsible for the damage caused by the xorn. (fun fact: originally i wrote down "Jerrod" because i wanted it to sound like a fantasy name, then realized it was probably "Jared" because theyre named after listeners, but i was pleased to find it confirmed that it's actually "Jaryd")

Candice (she/her): A Miner. thought those werent allowed in bars but, i guess not. Wants the mine owner to be held responsible for the xorn's damage.

Jade Johnson Esq. (she/her): lawyer.

Xorn: a big hungry gem eating guy from the plane of earth Low-Down Deep with 3 arms and 3 legs. why did travis just say "multi-armed" instead of specifying it was 3? who knows! Anyway it leaves

Osric (he/him): the man, the myth, the bursar. finally shows up after being mentioned in episodes 2 and 4. he's an elf. 

breeze through the willows (she/her): Pegasus attacked by demons, lost her parents. introduced in ep1 but gets a name here so fuck it. also in ep>!16!< we find out shes a "white arabian pegasus" and i dont think thats a spoiler bc we shouldve really known it from the beginning

Sabor (he/him): Librarian/research teacher. also a TORTLE. Really good at recalling stuff, i guess. kinda reminds me of Tomas's memory thing but i'm sure that's just a coincidence... *

As "Fauxronimous", he has skin the *color and pattern of* (but not necessarily made of) slate splashed with liquid, pointed ears, sharp teeth, shining eyes, horns of unspecified shape. 12 fucking feet tall. wonder if the slate-looking skin is related to garys. plot twist detected? Also i recently looked at the episode descriptions and found out his name is spelled "Gray", but really does it truly matter?

The Lich King aka Gordy (he/him): Rainer's dad. Commands armies of the undead. lives in The Crypt. described as a hooded, skull-faced man with intricate black lines on his face, but changes to a shaved-head man with dark skin and vetiligo. Abandoned as a babby, raised by traveling parents, had necromancy powers, took Rainier in. Not actually very scary at all i don't know why he did the creepy laugh. Kind of a warm fatherly figure actually. hm. also people are speculating Gordy might be short for Gordita and his parents are maybe supposed to be lup and barry but THAT S JUST A THEORY.

our firbolg's father (he/him): A firbolg who lived by the code and was there when our firbolg was banished. Came to respect our firbolg's interest in a new way of life, in his final moments.

vee claimed to be big and scary, which cowboy anon countered by saying she was a cute little baby. vee argued again that she was a grownup but cowboy anon countered that she can't possibly be a grownup if she's wearing a pullup

then vee playfully (while half regressed and not quite aware) argued that actually she wears pullups when she is big as well, so since she is wearing a pullup now that proves she is big and scary

cowboy anon quickly jumped onto that with "hahaha wait, you still have your little accidents when you're big? ... if you have a potty accident when you're a big scary kitty, do you still need your mama and papa to change your pullup for you? xD"

at first roman was telling patton what happened while logan and janus tried to calm vee down (yes, janus was visiting during this) but patton realised he couldnt be calm about this situation without his baby so him and logan swapped places - ro and logan deciding what action to take and janus and patton looking after a shaken vee

this is the first time janus learns about 1) the baby blog, 2) the fact that vee has accidents even when she's not regressed, and 3) the fact that vee was cyberbullied for months.

we do seek therapy often to combat the trauma some of us have endured through being groomed and being abused we spend time on ourselves to heal we find ways to cope and enjoy life again after it feels like parts of ourselves have been ripped from us and broken and tainted and violated

we work to be comfortable again we work to feel like ourselves again we find things we love again we allow ourselves to enjoy media again

we are taught to stand up for our own levels of comfort and to take control of the space around us we are taught mechanisms to move forward and we are encouraged to help others and support others at least thats what my therapist of multiple decades told me

we all seek shelter in our own ways and many people seek it in media its literally what so many beetlebabes shippers claim to be doing like they’re quote reclaiming some lost childhood thing unquote and yeah i think youre going about it in a terrible way that continues the cycle of pedophila and is normalizing it but thats not even what this is about right now this is about the blatant disrespect and inability to open your eyes to someone elses experience and story

trauma is not an experience that is easy to read and apply to every person you yourself sourced years of trying to deal with what you went through who are you to dictate how long someone can feel pain for what theyve gone through who are you exactly to say whether or not if has been too long of a time for someones trauma to effect them you of all people should know that this shit doesnt go away it lingers and it grips you forever it doesnt matter if you’ve been apart from it for ten days or ten years

in one sentence you belittled a person for still being effected by their trauma and then in the next stated that the battle is life long which is it which statement do you actually beleive because it seems to me you only seem to care about your own horrible self without taking this other person into account at all because their response to their trauma was to break the cycle and work to make his space safer for himself and i beleive that takes more courage and more strength to actively oppose what hurt you rather than let it become how you cope and it becomes something you reintroduce into the cycle by keeping the its all okay attitude alive
