random thought of the day i think people who used to be aphobic should have the same weight held to them as people who used to be bigoted in any other way. i dont mean this in a punishment way, im proud of anyone who used to be a bigot and realized that they were wrong, genuinely. but i hate how past aphobia is treated as just some quirky thing everyone did, just some phase. its bigotry and it should be taken more seriously because the way people will brush aside someone being aphobic is fucked. and the fact that people dont take it as seriously means theres still so many people who think they arent aphobic just bc they arent harassing ace people anymore

and its hard to really word what i mean bc i dont want it to come off as "i think if you used to be a bigot it should be held over your head for the rest of your life" but at the same time like. theres so many people i see who said really aphobic shit and STILL hold aphobic beliefs and say lowkey aphobic things but just because they arent actively saying that ace people arent lgbt outright its ok like no. just period if you think being aro and/or ace doesnt inherently make you lgbt/queer thats STILL APHOBIA. if you still completely erase aros from the discussion thats STILL APHOBIA!! if you still truly hold that kids cant identify as ace but wont say anything abt aromantism and still believe kids can be any other kind of queer thats STILL APHOBIA. if you still see queerplatonic relationships as just best friends+ and consider queerplatonic to be the same as platonic thats STILL CONNECTED TO APHOBIA. its all still bigotry!! youre still being a bigot against aro and ace people!! and the fact that people dont take any of that seriously and dont take more obvious forms of aphobia seriously either directly leads to lowkey forms of aphobia still existing and results in bigots either staying bigots or never properly addressing their past bigotry outside of "well i dont believe that anymore so thats it right im good"

i dont usually like sharing my lgbt hcs about characters out of fear that it would be met with discourse but if i recall correctly zooble doesnt really have a gender/a set one (if im wrong correct me!) so they understand the dysphoria thing; i think they would offer to let you hang out in your room and vent your feelings out. probably tries to give advice on how to feel better in general if you want advice, but if you want comfort theyre gonna do your best to give it to you. i dont think zooble would have much of an opinion on ballet; neither negative or positive, simply knowing thats its an art form! supports you if it makes you happy, though!

update uhh they scrubbed the super awesome pro lgbt wink wink nudge nudge social media accounts for Kum & Go because all Kum & Go’s are being replaced by Mavericks. theyre Utah based and very concerned about the sexual connotations of the name “Kum & Go” so by next year be prepared to say goodbye to beautiful Kum & Go. the purity panic is murdering an actual absolute legend. All of my hard work i spent growing the Kum & Go tiktok account from 0 to almost 200k like no trace of it. i have no car and have had to quit my irl job because of it & was considering doing remote work through social media marketing again and i would only be able to cite my experience with Kum & Go but they silently wiped all my videos off the account. im so like. even if not to work a job it would be cool to have all that work still up. the student ocs i created here are

-a transfem student who straight up doesnt have a name. you can call her anything but her deadname. its a fun game the class plays. it started as a gag but jon went “yeah okay ive seen weirder and kids deserve a chance to explore” so he comes up with a different name every day during roll call. shes v chaotic and inspired (personality wise, not funky name lore) by an irl friend of mine

-the student she has a crush on and is best friends with, an AP art student who uses they/she pronouns

they both eat lunch in Jon’s classroom, where they eventually notice that he never really eats much? just. reads a book in his free time, maybe has cereal bars occasionally

they form really close bonds with jon and he sponsors their lgbt club,,,, the second student realizes she’s agender when hes explaining the ace spectrum,,,,,, they come across The Horrors that were released when jmart moved on to Somewhere Else and he saves them,,,,,,,,, after they start to understand that “something spooky is here bc of mr sims but he was a victim in it” they sneakily start categorizing what they call “The Horrors” into 9 groups and get into shenanigans. they save jon at some point

their romance follows the plot of jmart’s but jon notices student B treating student A like he did martin at the start of the year and intervenes

so theyre healthier

(maybe jmart adopt student b, as they’re in a rlly unsafe home environment and thats why they started lashing out at their buddy)

at the beginning of the year student A knows shes trans but isnt sure what name to use. her buddy suggests not-adam (as she isnt suuuper uncomfy with her deadname, just that its too masc for her) so they call her that for a good bit and it comes up occasionally until they learn about the fears and the joke kinda. sours.

jon called her anything but that. not-adam thought it was because he didnt want to deadname her (and she insisted she was cool with it and thought it was funny) but she said that he can use a name that isnt adam, just not to stick to one bc she didnt want to feel boxed in

so the joke of her being anything but adam began

!!! WHAT IF NOT ADAM HAS AN ENCOUNTER WITH A STRANGER OBJECT THAT MAKES EVERYONE UNABLE TO SEE OR REMEMBER HER??? AND (character B) IS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS HER BUT STILL CANT SEE HER!!!! AND THIS IS HOW JON REVEALS HE KNOWS STUFF ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL

student b breaks down only a couple days in when she realized something was deeply, truly wrong, earing lunch (seemingly) alone with jon in his classroom. she says something with “not-adam” and “nobody remembers her but me” and jon’s trauma plus eye powers helps break his illusion, even though he doesnt remember her still

WHAT IF THIS IS AROUND WHEN NOT ADAM IS STARTING TO SEE HIM AS A FATHER

he adopts her bc she still legally doesnt exist and her family doesnt remember her , and its not like jmart already have fake identities anyways. they break the curse but everyone but B and Jon are completely wiped of her memory, just can finally see her now. its a mush of stranger, spiral, and lonely bc the horrors work different here

…she eventually settles on a name because she desperately needs to be reminded that they know her, they remember her, and that they remember all of her. (jon doesnt remember *everything* still, but most. every now and then she or B references something and they pause when they realize it was another memory lost to The Horrors)

oh also jon wears combat boots bc of daisy now. unrelated but important

im realizing my plan of them adopting B is a little funky with them adopting not-adam. however, unconventional found family prevails in tma. B just stays at their house most of the time bc she is neglected a lot at home so it usually isnt noticed when she disappears. theyre both 16 so fighting for custody when they can move out so soon is deemed too much stress on the teens. not-adam’s family actually are v loving and great, they just. dont remember NA. they dont remember how to love her, that they ever did

(thats why B needed to remember her. also, the effect intended of the horror was to torture NA until she died unnoticed and she will either be remembered by everyone when her body is found or will rot unseen until shes gone. or become an avatar, if she chose to embrace it. B was an intended victim of the leitner, the fear of nobody believing you and losing someone you love feed the Horrors)

(jon and his funky eye powers are likely the only reason NA didnt die)

in the end A picks the name astrid, but jon still calls her any name he can think of that starts with A when calling her down for food n stuff

anyways jmart unofficially adopting queer teens bc found family is so themcore but i *know* the fates would never allow them to do anything conventionally or fully legal

I was gonna ask you this anyway actually bc you know a lot of artists but I just kept forgetting bc adhd is kicking my ass rn but since you wanted asks: do you know of any cool online stores or artists selling stickers? im trying to decorate my new laptop and I bought a few on etsy but I wanna get more

made in a lab to answer this question bc all i do is look for artists that skew cool. i will also give artists that skew cute. some artists are in between these categories, that is, they have a cute artstyle with subject matter that at least at times skews cool. my metric for whats cool and whats cute is pretty much 'based on aesthetics if this were being sold at a basement show in the 90s to 00s would someone get called gay'. if the answer is yes, its cute. if the answer is no, its cool. i dont know if this makes sense but im gonna use this categorizing anyway. i will tag the artists who are on tumblr but otherwise im naming everyone by their instagram handle because thats where i look at art and im on my phone and cant link everyone without losing my sanity

rodrigo of caledon by david feintuch is where heartbreak goes to haunt you forever. its angry and griefstricken and messy and the 'what could have been's will worm so deep into your bones youll rage. and rage. and rage. but what can be done, when the greatest lengths have already been taken? when even everything itself, is not enough?

if you want one thats still mind exploding and heart rending but has an actual happy ending that wont make you stay up all night questioning all your choices while you go on with the rest of your life pretending youre fine when youre the furthest thing from fine and you dont know if you'll ever be fine again, the rifter by ginn hale.

if youre tired of me reccing these same 3 series over and over (even though theyre some of the best), take your chances with:

the edda of burdens by elizabeth bear. might have a happy ending, if you squint, but is it worth it? the thousands of years worth of pain? the tragedy that spans more than one lifetime and into reincarnation? if it isnt worth it, for the sake of love, than what is? (start with by the mountain bound btw, then -> windwracked stars -> sea thy mistress)

captive prince by c.s. pacat. you either love it or you hate it and everyone who considers it 'good' but in all my years of reading lgbt fiction this one still coasts near the top of the list as some of the most compelling and heart ripping romance. the hardest to stomach scenes are thrown at you right at the start of the first book but the journey (and ending) will grip you close and convince you love is real

the faerie hounds of york by arden powell. this ones sad. genuinely.

a royal affair by john wiltshire. angsty enough to bruise and gentle enough to hurt in an entirely new way. theres joy and hope and love in every corner of darkness, if thats more in line with what youre hungering for, or just need a balm after anything else ive just attempted to inflict upon you. the sequel is good too.

I love all the possible cupids for Byler (Murray, Robin and Erica) but the real cupid here for them gotta be DUSTIN.

- Murray connects the couples in a sexual way, Mike and Will's relationship is too delicated and sensitive for them to be spoken in that way, when they're just discovering their feelings. (it's something normal anyways, but just not yet)

- Robin probably has a great gaydar, but she barely knows Will and Mike. She could only help making them more confident individually, but not to connect them.

- Erica totally understands and supports LGBT+ community even though she's a kid, but, like robin, she doesn't know about Mike and Will's relationship. She knows them, she knows a lot about them, but not about their connection.

- DUSTIN has known both Mike and Will since they were kids, always sensing a stronger connection between them than the rest of the group. He may feel the electricity, just as he could feel it with Lucas and Max even though he liked her.

Mike and Will would feel more comfortable with Dustin because they're talking to someone who knows and supports them, someone who really understands them because theyre living in the same context, someone who they really appreciate in their lives. Let byler get dustined.
