Bold of you to assume that Obi-wan Kenobi did not immediately turn around and traumatise him back. Obi-wan does not have daddymaster issues his master has padawan issues.

He returns from MelidaDaan with the power of being 14 (derogatory) and excessive weaponry on his side. Qui-gon's being called by the teachers cause his padawan is teaching the other kids how to make shivs and also unionise. He's sneaking off to the lower levels to hustle sabbac games in order to buy tiny blasters he can keep in his tunics and boots.

When Xantos breaks in to the temple Obi-wan tells him that it's frankly embarassing for him to have had Qui-gon Jinn of all people living rent free in his head for so many years.

I'm genuinely REELING waiting for Doc's reaction to the Buttercups COVERING UP THE PERIMETER

Like. They really did that. Omfg they actually did that. They covered up Doc's 500 x 500 hole, AND added trees and grass. It's TERRAFORMED TO LOOK LIKE ACTUAL TERRAIN HELP

It took them like 20 HOURS with 7-10 people working on it.

Mumbo and Scar kept complaining like. We're really doing this? We can just make it flat right? Omg Grian's serious we're actually doing this.

Meanwhile Grian's like trying to divide the numbers down to convince them that, no, guys, this is an AMAZING idea. Then gathering everyone just to say he has a shulker of saplings because of course just covering it isn't enough. My blorbo is UNHINGED.

At one point Scar told Grian they were petitioning to make it flat, but Mumbo chickened out and was like no no it's fine. Scar's betrayed 'cause Mumbo agreed with him before and Mumbo's response? Grian wasn't there. He is afraid of how hell bent Grian is on this project.

Grian: Can't take a few hours to finish the back of his base because "it's boring"

Also Grian: Let's all waste 20 hours of our lives terraforming Doc's giant freaky experiment hole with dirt!

And every time that Doc's little threatening PSA-style (villain monologue) motivational speech came on, it just spurred them on more with rage. Like I'm fairly certain that PSA was the only thing keeping Scar and Mumbo backing out from Grian's insane idea of a prank.

Like, Grian really heard Doc's, "Get grinding," and, "you can always do more," messages and was like. Y'know what? Yeah. I could always do more. It's about time someone filled in the giant pothole anyway.

Oh, I just realized why there's not so much trolling in the internet lately, or rather, it's something people are unfamiliar with; signing up to websites is hellish, and they ask for all your personal data. Every fucking popular website asks you for your phone number, real name, double check identification, and all sorts of intrusive information to sign up. The other day I was configuring a new phone for my aunt and she would have been lost without me, there are jobs that ask for less background check than a fucking Gmail or Youtube account (which you need to use the Playstore), let alone instagram, or all sorts of stuff. Electronic banks have asked less verification from me than social media.

You can go through the hassle once (even though we shouldn't but it's a systemic issue at this point) but to open up an account for trolling and saying bullshit is too much of a hassle, unless you commit to it. There's also the fact that everything tries to be connected to your real name (it was such a process to make an alt Twitter as El Biotipo internet guy, not my real name) and real face (TikTok) now, and generations have grown expecting that, so the idea you could be some guy in the internet posting bullshit with no consequence just to rile up people and the fact that it could be fun, without the hassle of making new accounts, is lost.

So everyone thinks that when someone is posting absolute crap, they think they are being sincere (because why would you make an account on the internet just to lie???), when a few years ago, it would be just trolling.

Interesting this leads to a few places where the ancient art of Lying On The Internet For Fun is still alive; Reddit (ALL AITAs ARE FAKE, just so that you know), comment sections, and obscure forums. More interestingly, technically tumblr should be a place for that because it's one of the few places where you still can be mostly anonymous, but the average tumblr demographic is... como dicen los gringos? theatre kids? in a way, too nerdy and 'nice' to troll because that's lying and lying is bad you know

#4chan is a weird spot here because yeah you are anonymous and they basically invented anonymous trolling #but the average user of 4chan is painfully sincere with what they are so if they're saying something completely unhinged they probably are #by the way I'm not saying trolling is good. Either written codes or moral codes - they very rarely if ever do things because #it's what THEY want to do. I'd say they're the least emotion-driven members of the crew and yes I'm including Seven because Seven #has a very...how to describe? It's a blunt and insular selfishness. She does what SHE wants to do and doesn't really care about others. #To me that's emotion-driven. Or...personal desire-driven?
