sweet nothing ft the fushigojos to make up for the last fic i wrote for them heh

gojo satoru was not made for domesticity. this has always been something you've known, something you've accepted.

you're just not sure that he has.

it's a little past midnight when he trudges into your bedroom, tired lines creasing his pretty face as he shuffles around the room. he greets you with a quiet hey, and a peck on the forehead before stripping off his uniform, tossing it into the basket with a little more force than necessary.

you raise a brow at him, but stay quiet as he stalks into the bathroom. in the years that you've been together, you've learned better than to back an emotionally repressed sorcerer into a corner and force him to say how he's feeling. especially one who’s just gotten back from assignment.

you try and fail to return to the novel you were reading, staring blankly at the page until gojo steps out. his hair is damp, a towel slung low around his waist as he digs around in the closet for underwear.

there’s no pageantry, no winks or eyebrow waggles or light teasing of, like what you see? stuff that would usually make you roll your eyes, but that you suddenly realize has been missing lately.

okay, something is definitely wrong.

so you shut your book, placing it on the nightstand as he crawls into bed next to you. he says nothing, simply reaching across you to flick off your lamp and plunge the room into darkness.

it’s with a heavy sigh that he rests his head in your lap, grabbing your hand and plopping it into his hair before hugging your legs.

"i can't go to okinawa with you guys tomorrow.”

your comment pulls a small laugh out of him, but it's still interrupted by a sniffle.

"what's this really about?" you ask softly.

"i've been...missing things lately," he mutters quietly. "little league games, piano recitals, science fairs. i leave before they're awake, i get back when they're about to go to bed."

sorcerers who are referred to as 'the strongest' don't get days off. they go where they're needed, when they're needed.

"you know they don't hold any of that against you."

"i know," he says, sitting up to look at you. "but i don't want them - or you - to feel like i'm not choosing you. because i would, but i can't. and i'm just tired. of all of it--"

you wrap your arms around him when his voice breaks once more, pulling him into a hug. he reciprocates immediately, hiding his face in the crook of your neck as he releases a shaky sigh.

"it's not just about being there for the big things," you murmur. "it's about...being there when they need you to be. i can't hit a baseball to save my life, so you're the one who takes them the park to practice. you're the one who taught tsumiki how to read sheet music, and found a way to explain the concept of infinity to a ten year old so he could win the science fair."

without him, there would be no little league games, piano recitals, or science fairs to attend.

"besides, we can always go on vacation some other time," you assure him, rubbing circles across his back. "it's not worth it if you're not with us."

satoru wakes to the sound of muffled laughter. a quick glance at the alarm clock on his nightstand confirms that it's 7am.

the lack of warmth pressed into his side tells him you're up too. it's rare that anyone is awake before he is, especially on weekends or days that he's set to depart. he can hear bits of your conversation with the kids as he gets ready for the day, changing into his uniform and shoving clothes into a bag.

"what shape should i try to make?" he hears you ask. ah, you must be making pancakes.

"a heart!" tsumiki suggests.

"japan!" megumi argues.

he knows you're going to make both. you're doing so when he saunters onto the scene, humming along to whatever song tsumiki's put on the record player as you drop chocolate chips into the batter.

he sweeps your hair away from your neck, dipping his head down to press a kiss to the nape of your neck.

then he turns to the kids, who are in the process of setting the table. "did, uh, you guys already talk about okinawa?"

tsumiki nods, but megumi just shrugs, wrinkling his nose. "there are a lot of jellyfish there anyway."

he of course goes on to inform everyone of the different kinds of jellyfish and all the horrible ways they could kill you. tsumiki chimes in to say that they won't attack unless they're bothered.

you press a mug of coffee into his hand, standing on the tip of your toes to kiss to his cheek before joining the kids at the table with a plate of pancakes.

the scene that unfolds in front of him is a simple one, but one that he's dreamed of all his life. a family sitting together for a meal, laughing and chatting about things that don't really matter.

the world's always going to need him. but this? this is all he needs.

because gojo satoru wasn't made for domesticity, but for his family? he'll try.

You were at the Baratie kitchen with Zeff and Sanji, ranting about your discussion with Zoro, just to make sure you weren't overreacting but they knew better than not take part because well, you were pretty mad and they didn't want you to pick up your rage on them.

Just remembering the discussion makes your blood boil.

You and Luffy walked into the room where Zoro, Nami, and Ussop were. All of them turn to see the two of you, “Hey crew!” , Luffy says but none of them replies, and your smile falters. What was going on? The vibe in the room was so tense.

“Zoro challenged Mihawk to a duel”, You were shocked. What was he thinking? He was even thinking?

Nami asked Luffy to convince Zoro to not fight Mihawk but he didn't do it, instead, he supported Zoro to fight the duel. You make eye contact with Zoro, shaking your head clearly disappointed. You turned yourself ready to leave but before you got the chance, his voice made you stop on track.

“What? You think I can't win?” You observed his face, trying to figure him out but he wasn't showing any emotion. “If you wish to die today, then go ahead, I'm no one to stop you” , Please don't go, If something happens to you I will lose my mind, that's what you wanna to say.

“You're right, you're no one” , You're everything to me, that's what he wanted to say and it was true. You're his world and Zoro has tried to make you know it but you're too oblivious to notice it and he's scared to tell you his feelings not because you may reject him, because he thinks he'll ruin your friendship. “I have to become the world's greatest swordsman” “I know but—” “No, you don't know how it feels like, you don't even have a dream.” Your brows furrowed, of course, you had a dream like everyone else, in fact, the only one you had told about your dream was Zoro, and you trusted him so much but here was he now, using it against you, it made you feel sick. “Fuck you, Zoro, maybe Mihawk won't kill you but your pride is.”

After that you stormed out of the room, his eyes following you with a heavy feeling in his chest.

“So I was wrong?” you crossed your arms over your chest.

“Of course not, love” Sanji answered, Zeff rolled his eyes knowing what was he doing. “You know? I would never hurt you like—”

“MY FRIEND NEEDS HELP” Luffy burst into the kitchen yelling.

The anger left your body being replaced by worry. You ran as fast as your legs could carry you, heading to Going Merry without thinking twice. Sanji, Zeff, and Luffy going after you, you arrived and saw Zoro's body, his chest covered with blood and a serious wound. Your breathing was unstable and your body trembling, everything was blurry to you as Zeff treated his wounds faster and you couldn't help but think this was your fault.

“You gotta talk to him, make him stay here, in this world” You all nodded and thanked him for his help. Sanji decided to stay there to cook, Luffy, Ussop and you were sitting across him talking, well, they talking and you tried to focus on the conversation but your mind wandered thinking about Zoro.

While Sanji was cooking, Luffy was the first to move, ready to head to the room where Zoro was.

“Can I...?” Their heads turned to see you. You cleared your throat “Can I talk to him first, please?” Luffy hesitated for a second and he was about to refuse you but Sanji cut him off, “Ladies first” you murmured a thank you, walking to the room, behind you, you heard your captain asking them why he had to let you to talk Zoro first if he wanted to talk him too.

“Because they need it, they're more than friends” Ussop responds with a smirk on his face, which makes Luffy more confused, “They're best friends?” Sanji and Ussop laughed at him shaking their heads.

You closed the door behind you. Sitting on a chair that was next to him. Your eyes fell on his wound and instantly felt an overwhelming wave of guilt crash onto you. “I really don't want to lose you, so you better wake up” you hold his hand intertwining your fingers. “'cause I'm not gonna let you die” His breathing was slow but steady “When I said all that stuff earlier, I didn't mean it” Your eyes welled up with tears, replaying your last conversation with him in your mind.

Lost in your thoughts you didn't even feel when Zoro intertwined his fingers around yours. Then he squeezed your hand softly. While your heart was pounding in your chest. “did you miss me?” forgetting about his wound, you hugged him tight “you idiot! never do that again, I thought I'd lost you forever” He groaned painfully. “Sorry, sorry! I'm so sorry Zoro This is—” “Don't you even dare to say this was your fault, because it's not” you opened your mouth. He sent you a death glare. “Before I passed out, do you know what my only regret was?” He looked right into your eyes. “To not have the opportunity to beg for your forgiveness, what I said about your dream, it was wrong and I'm sorry, I will work to regain your trust, I promise” He brings your hand to his mouth, giving it a gentle kiss.

Something was different now and you both knew it, you were eager to know what the future would hold for the two of you.

What's with this obsession of wanting the series to end with Aegon III and Jaehaera getting married? "It's the most neutral ending" Don't tell me that nonsense, nobody wants a neutral ending, they think jaehaera is a more important ending than aegon iii reuniting with his brother, the only green that I can see having relevance in the end is Alicent, she being depressed and paranoid and the only one left of the greens, always thinking about how all that left her with nothing until she died

TG stans are fundamentally contradictory given how almost all of them are Targaryen antis. They condemn and hate all Targaryens (especially Dany), yet stan the worst group of Targaryens and want their line to continue to their most hated Targaryen in ASOIAF (again, Dany).

They go on and on about how Rhaegar and Dany are evil and deserved to die, but are rooting for their favs to be their ancestors. So basically they want their favs' bloodline to continue but also be wiped out. The only time they want the line to continue is if they're jonsa shippers who want R+L=J.

Because TG stans want to win the war against Rhaenyra so badly, they behave as nonsensical hypocrites (even more than they already do). Jaehaera surviving and marrying Aegon III is the only way the greens could still "win". The only reason it's seen as a neutral outcome is because of people painting the Blacks and Greens as equally wrong. If Rhaenyra and Aegon are both in the wrong and dead, their child joining the houses seems like a good idea. Except there's a clear right side. GRRM killing off all Alicent's bloodline is karmic retribution for her actions and those of the rest of the Greens.

It's a tragedy that Jaehaera died, but it's a tragedy of her family's own making. If Alicent hadn't plotted to undermine Rhaenyra since Aegon's birth, her family would still be alive and well. If Aegon had bent the knee when Rhaenyra offered him mercy, he, his siblings, and his children would be safe and sound. If Aemond hadn't killed Luke, Rhaenyra and her faction would have been more merciful. GRRM has set a precedent of wiping out the bloodlines of traitors and usurpers, the Greens are no different. Anyone who rejects this fact is missing the point of the Dance.

Despite that they were hurt badly, blood dripping and body aching, it was hard to move, although, they couldn't care less at all, the love of their life they've been deeply longing for was in front of them even if so much time has passed, they ran, or at least tried to with the state that they're in, limping and reaching towards skelly sobbing... Skelly allows S/O to hug him, they both fell and broke down, S/O then muttered "My l-love...I-I'm finally home.." and quietly apologizing for everything...

S/O later explains that they were kidnapped by terrible and horrible aliens after accidentally wandering into their territory at night and forced to be their test subject and slave as punishment, spending such a long time being tortured constantly, forced to do terrible things for them and things they didn't want to do, however, S/O persevered, knowing that if S/O gave up and died then only the shitty aliens would win so they tried so hard and fought back that turned the situation into an endless war, surviving through it all, changing the sweet and kind sunshine who dreamt of reaching the stars to a tired soldier... All they ever thought of and dreamt was only to come back home, reuniting with their love...

Undertale Sans - He's horrified. Honestly, he just assumed he did something wrong all these years that made you run away, he could never imagined, well, that. First, he teleports you to the hospital, then he warns Asgore because, uh, that seems like a serious situation a King should know about you know. He's not leaving your side after this, simply holding your hand as you recover. He doesn't know what more he can do to help, but at least, he can listen and be here for you. He won't stop apologizing for not being there when you needed it, even though he can't really go to space so there's not much he could do.

Undertale Papyrus - He's completely in shock. Papyrus assured everyone you were alive and didn't stop looking after you all these years, even though his brother and Undyne told him he was just hurting himself for nothing. Turns out he was right all along and just didn't think to check space, silly him. Welp, that happened. Sometimes everyone thinks you're dead, sometimes you get kidnapped by aliens. That's life. Now that it's over, everyone can turn the page and never leave again because he's now full of insecurities and literally terrified you will never get home when you go get groceries :D But he's fine, he hides it very well (no).

Underswap Sans - Omg. You fought aliens all this time and he was not there to see this. He's jealous, well, not too much of the "I was a lab rat part" but all the other sides. You went into space, and you beat up aliens! Is your spaceship still working? He wants to beat up aliens too! He's glad you're back home, and he won't stop asking questions. He has trouble understanding you need to recover from all this and that talking that much about this traumatizing experience is definitely not helping.

Underswap Papyrus - He breaks down in your arms. He doesn't care what happened, he's just so happy. He got confused after you disappeared, than angry, then sad, then depressed and he was very close from falling down because he couldn't understand why you left. He kept believing, just a little, that maybe you would come home someday, and he's so glad you did eventually. He's horrified when he learns you got basically tortured for years, but he is also in awe about how you managed to go home by yourself. He won't stop crying for a few weeks. He needs to recover as well.

Underfell Sans - He doesn't even know what to say. He grew angry after you, thinking you gave up on him like many before you and that he got tricked into a false feeling of security once again. But now you're back, and apparently, it's all his fault because he didn't think even one second you might have been kidnapped by aliens. He thought about a car accident or something but your car had been found unscathed after a while, he thought of a kidnapping but Edge assured him none of his rivals were in town when it happened, so he just assumed you left. He's not sure how to feel about all of this, he needs some time to think.

Underfell Papyrus - He falls completely silent. He searched for you everywhere. He thought you died somewhere and that he would never see you again. He mourned you. And now you're just... back? He lived the all thing like a giant failure because he wasn't there to protect you and he thought that maybe you got kidnapped and died all alone somewhere. Well, learning you got kidnapped by aliens doesn't help him to feel better, because he felt like it was his role to protect you, and he couldn't prevent this. He's glad you're home, but he is full of insecurities now, wondering if he's the right fit for you if he can't even protect you from something like this.

Horrortale Sans - Oh he was not worried. Willow kept telling him you were gone forever, but he could feel in his soul it was not true and he just kept forgetting you were gone for four years until you actually come back out of nowhere. He's just happy he got his S/O's back, purring like you left the house yesterday. He knew you would come back.

Horrortale Papyrus - Well that's awkward. You landed right next to the tomb he made for you in the forest, right next to Undyne's and Alphys' ones (that was supposed to not exist by the way because Monsterkind refused to give them tombs). Willow just thought it would be nice to have a place to remember you, since there was not really a body to mourn. He's now completely in shock, unsure if you are a ghost or no. Well, there's the spaceship, sure, but, that's a bit unbelievable. He doesn't even know what to say. He's happy, sure, but that doesn't feel real at all for him.

Swapfell Sans - He was really happy to discover you're actually alive and not dead in a ditch somewhere. Well, at least until you tell him you got abducted by aliens. Nox suddenly falls silent, then keeps looking between your face and your stomach. Nah man, that's too much for him. He runs home like the devil is chasing him and locks all the doors and windows. If your stomach needs to explode and deliver some random alien baby that will eat everyone, do it outside. He doesn't want to know. It will take three days to convince him you are in fact not infested with an alien parasite. He still doesn't trust you, but he tolerates you inside lol.

Swapfell Papyrus - Well the Rus you knew is not the same. After you disappeared, he kinda gave up on everything and lost the will to do anything. Instead, you meet with his brother, who is both terrified of you and relieved. When you go to see Rus, he thinks you're a hallucination and completely ignores you, and he will for a good month before realizing you're here to stay and sometime later that you're actually real. Little step by little step.

Fellswap Gold Sans - He's not sure is believing you, despite the spaceship. It's not that he doesn't want to believe you, but it seems too big to believe, and it feels like you're searching for an apology for giving up on him. Wine has trust issues and won't be fully the same anymore, even if he'll forgive you eventually and accept that something crazy actually happened to you. It's just... It still hurts. He struggles to forget the few years without you.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Unfortunately, Wine finds you first. Wine is NOT happy you abandoned his precious baby brother and before you can even say a word, he attacks you lol. How dare you come back after all these years? Don't you know how much you hurt Coffee? Like hell he's letting you get close again! Eventually, he'll calm down, but not after beating the living hell out of you. First he hits, then he tries to understand. Well, that's very awkward when he realizes he had beaten you for something you're not really responsible for... At least Coffee is happy to see you. He won't let you go ever again. Poor guy is even more scared of being abandoned now.

Horrorswap Papyrus - He's so relieved you're alright. He never stopped believing you would come home, despite everyone saying it's hopeless. He just knows. When he learns you got tortured for a few years though, he can't stop apologizing for you. The guy quite know the feeling, and he's so sorry you had to experience it as well. At least you two can try to recover together now. He's glad you're home.

Outertale Sans - Ah. First time? That happens. Those aliens are quite curious you know. Maybe next time take a beacon with you so, you know, he doesn't get worried and just knows you're actually just having a party with a random species? Ah, you got tortured? Ah... Uh... He looks at his feet and doesn't dare to meet your eyes again. Yeah, he forgot aliens could do that too.

Concept: I've put multiple asks into one post to avoid too much loose posts on my account! This way, you have more to read too<3

Warnings: yandere, Stockholm syndrome

How about hedwig and jerry (seperate)being smug covering readers eyes with their hands and saying guess who and reader says someone else's name what would be their reactions?

Hedwig: She gasps and stumbles backwards. How could you? Do you not like her enough to know her hands?

"Y-Y/N ... why- ... who else do this to you? Why couldn't you guess that it was me? Y-You're not seeing anyone else, do you?"

Jerry: You'll know that you fucked up once she grabs a fistful of your hair and forces your head back to look up at her. She gives you a toxic smile and uses her other hand to squeeze warningly at your throat.

"Wanna tell me who that is?"

Jerry and Hedwig ask. Darling loves them but is a travelling magician and master escape artist. Inspiration? Now You See Me 1 and 2. I loved the movies, and I wanted to see how annoyed Jerry and exasperated Hedwig would be if their Darling escapes all the time leaving their calling card to come find them.

They'll be used to it by the fourth time. Hedwig will grab the card and Jerry will run out to her car. She'll honk the horn to make Hedwig hurry up. Once they find you sitting on a park bench with a smile on your face, Jerry will scoff and Hedwig will break out into a relieved smile.

"Thank god, you're okay!" Hedwig smiles and hugs you. "You have to stop doing that, you're scaring us!"

"Babe, if you continue with this I'll put guards in your room", Jerry says with her arms crossed. "Have fun trying to escape them like you escape the ropes. Me and princess peach here find no enjoyment in this."

How would jerry and Hedwig react to meeting the readers father only to see that he's a 6 foot 11 giant and built like the rock and looks like he could kill someone but is really just sweet and quiet and will bake you a whole cake to make you feel better -💳

Both of them will be uncomfortable in the beginning. Jerry will be on edge and observe while Hedwig tries to win him over. Once they understands that your father is a teddy bear, they relax. Jerry will ask him about his work out routine and Hedwig will ask him about your safety to make sure he will stand behind you.

I was wondering how would each of their reactions be if the reader choose the other, let's say the reader saw them fighting but instead of going for hedwig went to jerry to see if she was ok or if the reader went to stand infront of hedwig as a way to protect her from jerry that kind of thing

What would Hedwig and Jerry respond to a darling that's been kidnapped for sometime maybe 4-5 months say "I love you" fully sincere with a lovestruck look as in their the only thing that matters in that moment to the darling.

Hedwig: She'll be thrilled. She'll cup your cheeks and kiss you feverishly. Finally, finally, finally.

"I love you so much too, Y/N. You're so, so dear to me, i hope you know that. Now you'll not have to be in pain anymore. I'll fake good care of you. It'll be okay now."

Jerry: First, she won't believe you. But the second she sees the genuine tenderness in your eyes, she'll slowly remove the handcuffs from you and stroke your bruised wrists.

"I knew you'd realize ... I knew you'd give in. You're going to behave now, right? Good girl/boy. I'm proud. Now, let's get you clean. We'll take a shower. Come here."

At some point, in my copious free time (haha), I want to go back and really pay attention to who's the POV/framing character of each episode of Only Friends and what consequent impression we get of all the other characters from the ep.

At least partially because Ray's seemed like the designated punching bag in the wake of Ep 8, and I can't help wondering if that's influenced by his presentation from Boston's POV, which is not only pretty unforgiving in general, but is also the POV of a guy who's seemed to have had it out for Ray the entire show. I've seen people talk about how they find subtextual signs of friendship between these two, but if so, it's a friendship that's gone badly wrong. Boston's been consistently, deliberately mean to Ray - not just thoughtless or selfish, as he can be with other characters - since Ep 1, when he calls Ray a "burden" when he's drunk, echoing the language Ray uses for himself when he's at his suicidal lowest. Then add in the fact that Ray's the one who spilled to Mew about Boston and Top, setting off this whole chain-reaction that's estranged Boston from his friends group, as well as pressing on his issues about exposure. Yeah, Ray behaved badly, and he should never, ever snort up again because he's an asshole on coke, but there's also no way Ray's going to look like anything other than his absolute worst - practically malicious rather than a fucking mess - if we're looking at him through the lens of Boston.

Similarly, Boston's seemed, if not actually friendly, at least on decent terms with Sand - enough to feel like he can say what is or isn't Sand's usual stash. I ... don't know at this point if he knows that Sand was the actual leak re: Nick's sex recording, rather than Ray getting it directly from Nick? If he doesn't know, there's even more reason for Sand to come across as a stand-up guy stuck dealing with an absolute asshole - despite Sand also having some responsibility for what's going on between him and Ray. (Because a) I still want to know what Ray's dad wanted Sand to help him out with - and does Sand have some kind of ulterior motive for his interactions with Ray, at this point? And b) I question whether there wasn't a point that if Sand had stopped pushing Ray away by saying they weren't anything more than friends, Ray wouldn't have fallen into this thing with Mew so easily. Yo and Plug aren't just randomly breaking up in the middle of Ray and Sand having a fight. They're breaking up because Yo is Sand. Sand's commitment issues after Boeing or whoever, and the way that's affecting the SandRay relationship, in which Ray has made a ton of soft overtures, pursuing and pursuing, are Yo's commitment issues in a now-failing relationship that initially started because of Plug's courtship. It's maybe the most blunt-force writing we've seen in the show - Yo and Plug's relationship got fridged to make a statement about Sand and Ray's relationship.)

ANYWAY, just because Boston's not in a scene doesn't mean we're not seeing other characters through his lens, in his POV episode.

I also found Force's portrayal of Top in this ep interesting, including the way he interacts with Boston, given the visible discomfort and unease he's portrayed around Boston in other eps, particularly in sexual situations. Instead we get that weirdly companionable moment Boston and Top have, when Top doesn't take any shit from Boston, and in response, Boston doesn't take any offense to his threats. Cheum isn't the only one who looks to Top to solve the problem with the police - so does Boston. Top is actually pretty solid and steady and take-charge in this ep, but he also constantly looks kind of hangdog and whipped, and that may give some insight into how Boston tends to see him, as well as how he sees Top's current fixation on Mew.

Cheum is over-invested in Top winning back Mew, an amplification of her encouragement of their relationship since the beginning, and overall tiresome in her self-appointed role as cop-without-a-badge, but without any real force - nothing she says here manages to reach the level of dismissing Boston as a heartless slut in front of everyone and his date - which may indicate that Boston doesn't actually give a shit about Cheum.

Mew, on the other hand - the one who threatened to out Boston to his father and possibly the world via revenge porn, and all that after locking down Top in a chastity belt - spends his time either moping around and feeling sorry for himself or being a self-centered, smugly superior, thoughtless and sometimes malicious little fuck, encouraging his addict "best friend" to drink and do drugs with him, doing everything he can to make Top's life miserable including openly using Ray to try making Top jealous, and trying to poke his fingers into Boston's wounds - which of course Boston brushes off, because he'd see himself as above whatever Mew could throw at him. And then after all that, he can't even hold his liquor. Amateur.

Don't get me started on how soft and pretty Nick looks in this ep. I don't know if that's Boston's lens, or if that's just Mark Pakin.

ninjas' team and lloyd (who did not want to be there) met harumi (and echo) in line with canonical events and it was a love at first sight, but only for morro. harumi had other plans, in which she ignors and doesn't acknowledge his existence while having a typical teen girls' crush on older guy who, reasonably had many reasons to try and run away from them. and we goes like that till crystalized.

and to explain a little more, harumi doesn't hate lloyd in here. while the team and garmadon were dealing with great devourer in season 2, lloyd knew he couldn't do much as he's not a fighter, he can't use his powers intentionally (he does it accidentaly in the end but still), he would go for a sure death, so he did all he could and helped escorting people out from the danger zone and he actually rescued little harumi. garmadon was a hero, he saved ninjago, but lloyd was her hero. she litteraly wanted to reunite son and father in season 8, but it all went wrong and we have exactly same shit going on as in oni trilogy.

harumi is obsessed with lloyd in the end understanding that he's old and she's a god damn weirdo (girl, leave him alone, he has a puppy and boyfriend and HE'S TOO OLD FOR YOU), morro has multiply mental breakdowns and grows up to accept that he can't make someone love him, love will come by itself to him (give me cute cousins moment with lloyd being intelligent for the first time in his life), and echo is happy to be there (he deserves all the hugs)

and than, no one knows why or how, things happened AND BOOM they're in love.

for the headcanons:

echo is a true romantic. for him love always wins. for him, there always his partners to love. he's neat.

I'm really glad that Billie talked about her queercoding. She did queercode lots and queer fans picked up on it but her straight fans, of course, dismissed queer fans of reading too much into things. The same happens in Shawn's fandom and even in Louis' despite most of Louis' fans thinking he's queer. Queer coding will be pointed out by queer fans and the straight fans throw tantrums over it. They're so vocal and toxic and they're bullies, and so dismissive of queer fans. They're probably teenage girls and they're angry because it threatens their fantasies. Queercoding is directed at queer fans anyway, it's not for the straight fans but I wish straight fans weren't so dismissive and always thinking that they know better. The vast majority of times they turn out to be wrong! When will they learn. More and more people will CO and say that they were pressured to hide their sexuality but straight fans will continue to believe that closeted people don't exist. More people will say that they lied about being straight, and straight people will continue to believe that if someone says they're straight then they are. It's strange but that's heteronormativity lol. A few times I've questioned myself if I'm reading too much into things and picking up on things that aren't there, or if I'm a bad person for pointing out queercoding. But I realize that celebrities want us to pick up on their queercoding or else they wouldn't do it. They know we follow their every move and they're relying on their queer fans to pick up on queercoding. That's essentially what Billie said, she wanted fans to pick up on it. She was disappointed when people didn't. By ignoring queercoding it is letting these straight fans win. They're trying to gaslight us into thinking we're misreading things when it's them. I agree with you that willingly closeted celebrities don't queercode. I've fallen out with people over this because they defend the closet. I try and put myself in the perspective of a closeted celebrity who wants to come out. Of course they're going to queercode, they want their community to recognize them as one of them. They engage in queer culture because they are queer and they want other queer people to know that. They will allude to being queer in many ways, as they're closeted and it's all they can do other than come out, which they may not be able to do yet because of label contracts. Then I put myself in the perspective of a willingly closeted celebrity. They want people to think they're straight and so why would they queercode and engage in queer culture? They will be doing the opposite, they will be doing everything to come across as straight and they won't do anything to draw speculation about their sexuality. They will probably get married to a woman to put an end to speculation about their sexuality. That would do it. Sorry this is so long! I have lots of thoughts on this

It's okay lol. I think picking up on queercoding is important and i don't think it's wrong to point it our for the reasons you mentioned. The only thing we need to be careful of is projecting our own wants onto them (we want them to be queer) and creating confirmation bias. There is nothing wrong in believing someone is queer, because there is nothing wrong with being queer.

About the willingly closeted. You don’t see Tom C*uise queercode. You see him fake marry, have a kid he never sees, jump on couches, act in hyper-masculine action movies and attending F1 races. He's doing everything he can to be seen as the ultimate straight male tm. Haven't seen much queercoding from Leo or Brad*ey either.

I think it's harder for the unwillingly closeted who wants to show they're a part of the community because being queer is a significant part of their identity and how they wish to express themselves. They're supressing themselves and holding back. They so badly want to embrace their culture and be a part of the community.

For Harry it's so bad he begged for the role of a closeted gay police officer to be able to live out his real sexuality for all to see on film. Louis is standing on stage night after night singing "i love him, i hate it" while having to repeatedly deny larry. They've both worn shirts in support of other celebrities coming out right after it happened. They so wish it was them. It must be so incredibly hard for them to be closeted.

We're off to episode 3 another fantastic one for our fav couple. Let's get started shall we?

2x03 The Bet

Tim and Lucy are getting ready to head out when she asks how his night was. Seems like an innocent enough question by her. So Tim is honest. Lucy's response is sassy to say the least. Being as comfortable as possible in its delivery. Tim isn't too happy with her reply. Let me say this, Lucy is the ONLY person Tim would ever allow to talk to him like this LOL No way in hell he would indulge anyone else to even broach the subject. But then no one else would have the guts to like Lucy either. She is always the exception for him.

Once again Lucy is doing it for his own good. To shake him out of his routine. Help him move on. Everything this woman ever does is in his best interest. Tim’s deep breath in the first gif when she starts up is so funny. Like he is bracing himself for whatever Lucy barrage is headed his way. He knows she is going to say something he doesn't want to hear LOL She tries to broach the subject lightly but is instantly shot down. Now he isn't mad so much as annoyed which is progress believe it or not haha

Lucy clams up pretty quickly after he mentions jogging behind the shop all day. Her face is hilarious. Lucy has learned to take her foot off the gas when need be. She opened the door a crack to this convo and shut it quickly. It’s like she pokes the bear gauges his reaction then strategizes for a bit on how to better approach him later. She is no where near done meddling in this matter.

We rejoin them at the station booking a couple of sex workers. This is where Lucy decides to bring this subject up once again. The lack of personal space in this scene is primo. Personal space? Never heard of her.... I love it so much. My goodness they are awfully close to one another in this scene hehe She sees this as her window and is right back at it. Lucy is saying she thinks she can help him. He looks at her like she’s insane. But he allows her to continue. Almost bemused at her confidence to set him up properly. It becomes a point of pride for Lucy. The more he seems to doubt her the more she wants to prove him wrong. What else is new? Haha

This quickly goes from setting him up to a work flirt. I mean look at those two above. They're not subtle in the least...All their work flirts stem from challenging one another. This whole situation goes from helping Tim go out on a date to a competition. Because well it’s them LOL They’re both so damn competitive...That’s literally what this entire thing boils down to. Both of them digging in their heels and not relenting. Thinking they're right and the other is in the wrong.

Tim has grown a lot I keep saying but it’s true and I'm just so proud of him. Last season Tim wouldn’t have allowed Lucy anywhere near his personal/love life. Let alone make a bet about it with her. They’re both SO cocky and confident they’re going to win as well. They decide on the the winner's spoils. For Tim he gets 50 push ups after each call. Lucy gets the short sleeves she was robbed of.

Tim agrees and says she has to pay if he does this. Lucy doesn’t even care and hastily agrees to this. Just wants so badly to be in short sleeves. These two are ridiculous fools and I love them for it. Also the way Lucy looks at him after they make their bet above is so cute. Little smitten kitten this one. As I've said before as transparent as glass. She is so adorable in how she looks at him. If he looked next to him he would see the heart eyes being lodged his way. Also lets pay back attention to the lack of space. *sigh* I just love them so much.

Tim does what he does best. Getting under Lucy’s skin as much as possible. In a way only he knows how. Since Lucy is paying he’s taking Rachel to most expensive restaurant possible. He's such a shit haha I adore him though. The work flirt continues. We haven’t had one in a bit this definitely constitutes as one. Tim going on about the expensive food and wine. You can see the irritation all over her face. Eric and Melissa are masters at conveying so much with a look. Right now she wants to shove him off that chair.

Lucy is trying to turn it back in her favor. Saying how romantic it is. That he wouldn't have chosen that if he wanted his date to fail. Their banter is unrivaled. I enjoy their verbal sparring so much. Tim is ever so cocky of course. He thinks he has this in the bag. That Lucy is destined to stay in long sleeves till her probation is up. Well if he has anything to do with it she will.

He is more excited at the prospect of Lucy doing those push-ups and winning this bet than the date itself. Oh Timothy. His damn cute smile in that last gif though above. Lord help me. I swear he only smiles that way with her. Amazing the amount of chemistry these two have without even touching. Testament to how good it is.

I don’t know what’s funnier. The fact that Lucy is casing his date or that she dragged Jackson along for it LMAO Kills me. ‘Mama needs to get into short sleeves’ I’m dying haha Also Jackson telling her how weird this is. I loved their friendship so much. Down to do and help each other with whatever.

Tim crashing and burning on this date is too funny. He needs an ice breaker. What does he do to rectify the situation? Brings up his work wife. Yes baby, that’ll fix the current train wreck you have going on. Smh. He does look damn good though. Feast for the eyes and all that. I will say I did like Rachel. She was the perfect person to get him back into the dating world. A Lucy 2.0 you could say. Because she challenges him and calls him on his crap too. I mean look at that second gif. Got him to go from saying Chen to Lucy with a pointed look.

I like Rachel for what she represented for him. Showing him he could have a functional relationship post Isabel. I think she was very important in shaping Tim into who he becomes in that regard. I hope this doesn’t sound as mean as it may come off. Rachel was a means to an end for Chenford. A good one but one none the less. Serious enough to show Tim he was capable of that again but not enough that he would leave LA for it.(But that’s much farther in the future for s2.) I will say I do love what Rachel does for him in the long run. I didn’t hate their scenes by any means. They had their purpose. I.e. Lucy who will eventually win this bet as we will see later on.

Lucy and Jackson continue to watch the date. It looks like Tim is flailing and Rachel is off put. Tim admits the bet he has with Lucy. That he wants to win. Rachel flirts and says being with her isn't a win? Then they start to click a bit. Tim says he can help Rachel with her civil standbys. She asks what he’d like in return? Tim being Tim knows Lucy is watching. Has Rachel slap him in the face and leave. Lucy is crushed and convinced she will be in long sleeves the rest of her probationary period haha

Oh Lucy you know why you care if Tim dates LOL Just last episode you recorded an old ass book for this man. But it is far too early for you to understand the true meaning of those actions just yet. She cares so much and is so empathetic. She will do things to her own detriment. Like this date haha Jackson’s reply is the best though. ‘You just want everyone to be happy. That’s a good quality’ He was such a good friend. ❤️

I love that Lucy couldn’t stand the idea of Rachel thinking badly of Tim. So she made sure early the next morning to visit her and rectify that. Almost like she couldn't move on with her day until she did this. That even if they didn’t work out romantically, she had to come and defend Tim to her. Lucy has seen his good side more than anyone else. To her there is no one better to defend his name than her. So that’s exactly what she did. Gah I love it. She’s so loyal.

Lucy looks down and sees a pair of boots. Then Tim does his glorious entrance. A shot we all love let's be honest. He's all wet from the shower and in a low hanging towel. Phew lord. Lucy looks a little thirsty at first. Then she turns her brain back on. (I can’t blame her girl I'm thirsty from seeing him too ahaha) Lucy confidently looks him in the eye and says ‘Short sleeves’ then takes off with a glorious smile and stride out of Rachel's place and back to her car.

Tim is so mad he’s lost this bet he doesn’t even care Lucy is seeing him in a towel. Or the fact that he’s there cause he spent the night with her friend. He’s more annoyed she won the bet LOL Classic. He thought he was going to have his cake and eat it too. Sorry Tim that’s a hard no haha This ep was one big work flirt for them both and I loved it.

Side notes- Meh didn’t really have much. Was cool to have couple Castle peeps on the show Seamus and Jon retuning. And Wopez was cute with his mom and stuff but nothing major. Jackson' SL with Smitty was really good tragic but good.

what are your thoughts on loop and siffrin’s hangout in the tree? it always seemed excessively cruel imo, just to prove that sif dying wasn’t the only way to loop. i feel like there were other ways, so i guess i can’t understand completely understand why they would do it.

had loop not pointed out the party dying or had the party managed to beat the king w/o sif, do you think sif would have still looped? Or at the very least managed to make it to the next day?

Anon. are you my loop. afheiohfe LMFAO I'm just. amused by the question because yeah tbh I don't really like the Loop hangout either. I get critical under the cut, so this is only getting a spoilers tag.

I think Siffrin was going to loop then. They probably would have realized what the flash was, or even just realized that the time of day means either the party's made it to the King or things have already ended badly for them, and now they're down a fighter. Siffrin does try to cling to hope at times so I can see him trying to persuade himself that Mirabelle would know the shield, she'd know to shield even if he didn't warn her right??? so maybe they didn't instantly die! but again, they're down a fighter. Even if they win the fight, surely they'd hate him for abandoning them in the final hour. I think he'd give himself a panic attack out of worry and guilt and shame and loop. Loop just hurried it up, probably because they were already hating themself (which, this sure makes it rich for them to try to point out to Siffrin later in act 5 that he's being an ass for saying mean things to the party LOL).

If you want my thoughts. This isn't in the ISAT tag because the hangout is one of the low points of the game for me. It was the "oh, we're just doing shock value now" bit of my first playthrough. I didn't think it made sense then just because how does the party get to the King anyway (even if they can still beat/avoid all the sadnesses without Siffrin and avoid the rock trap/find all the keys because they're like. being more cautious with them gone, they only have a 1/6 chance of correctly choosing the right path on both floors 2 & 3 unless Loop is actively guiding them. Which is an idea I've seen people uncomfortable with, but Loop is purposefully setting them up to die anyway????), and how does Siffrin not realize sooner "hey wait this is going too long what's going to happen to my friends" and panic over that sooner, and nothing in the rest of the game really changed my thoughts on that. Considering Isabeau is right in Loop's potential sight YEAH I FEEL LIKE THEY COULD HAVE COME UP WITH DIFFERENT WAYS OF PROVING IT.

Also iiirc, in my first playthrough I'd already done the Bonnie sidequest of them freaking out at Siffrin and making them loop by this time. I get that the Bonnie sidequest is optional but like. That sure doesn't help with making this hangout feel like cheap shock value.

I think. What I would have liked better. Is if maybe Loop had been trying to do something else and they accidentally established this. Example:

Loop tells Siffrin from the very start they can tell their friends about this and brings the matter up again at act 3 start. Even though it didn't free them from the loops it DID make that one loop better for them when their friends knew something was wrong (they didn't die horribly, for one), so I think they're thinking if Stardust lets everyone in on the full truth, and sooner, maybe they can help somehow!!! Maybe Odile can solve it!!!! 'Why are us two idiots trying to solve this alone!!!' Loop's thinking, and Loop just really, really wants to get out of the loops. So like. imagine a ISAT sus run being a little more similar to a SASASA sus run and Loop specifically baiting them to do that, maybe by suggesting that since they always loop when talking to the Head Housemaiden the loop ends at a certain TIME, this is TIME craft stardust, hurry it up and maybe you'll see something useful besides the roof hm???

What Loop is hoping for: Stardust gets the nice little bit of his family comforting him and getting them to open up a little, they get to hurt themself watching it through them, Stardust realizes 'hey I should talk to my friends' and actually starts telling them about the time loop at the start so they can all work through the information together, they just needed more brain cells on the problem so THEY FIGURE OUT THE GD TIME LOOPS AND LOOP GETS TO BE FREE.

What actually happens: *looks at how the sus run goes in ISAT* also since this is already altering what a sus run requires and how it turns out you could also have Mirabelle on edge and unintentionally taking it out on Siffrin, or Isabeau being horrified if Siffrin finally confesses about the time loops under pressure from Odile and Siffrin assumes Isabeau's disgusted about him hiding this (and not realizing like. Isabeau is actually horrified that his friend's been dying? and trying to handle that alone??? SIF), basically like just make it accidentally turn into a train wreck of a scene for a takeaway of "huh. Siffrin loops back from being upset, too." And then Siffrin is further convinced opening up = always bad and just gets more and more set in I AM NOT BLINDING TELLING THEM.

tbh i'm getting the vibe given the lewis-addition to the story that jaune is gonna sacrifice himself to the tree to let the girls escape back to remnant and i'm really not sure how i feel about that.

Yeah, it's a possibility at this point in the Volume, especially given the old!Jaune reveal. Personally, I'd be really disappointed in that for three reasons:

1. I like Jaune. Frequently I dislike what the story chooses to do with him, but I like his character, parts of his journey, and - like so much in RWBY - his potential. I'm not a Jaune stan by any means, but I by no means despise him either.

2. Critics have said for years that the men in RWBY are treated pretty badly, to the point where there's this discomfort that it's a "girl power" show only because all the guys wind up being personal or external antagonists: Ozpin is a manipulator, Oscar is hated, Qrow is useless, Ironwood's a villain, etc. Jaune is the one HUGE exception to this, especially after Ren was so thoroughly rejected last Volume until he fell in line, so it would be disappointing, to put it mildly, for Jaune to go through another horrific trauma and then get dropped from the story, continuing this trend of the male protagonists being left behind (be that emotionally or literally).

3. I get why fans who don't have patience for criticism frequently write some version of, 'Aha! You claim Jaune gets too much screen-time but you also think the men aren't treated well? There's no pleasing you!' because yeah, there are complications here that don't invite easy, make-everyone-happy solutions of, 'Do ___ with Jaune and then RWBY is fixed.' But beyond the fact that I don't think killing off characters should be the go-to solution for writing problems, the fact that there are problems just means that Jaune is a symptom, not the disease. RWBY suffers from giving its male characters the plot focus that should rightly be going to the title team - Ozpin is cursed, Oscar is his host, Ironwood has the plan, Ren is angry instead of Yang, Jaune kills Penny - and then treating them badly because the show realized that they're supposed to be writing a story with the girls at the center, whoops, better pull back and kill/ignore/make that character evil or completely, thoroughly wrong so the girls look good in comparison. That's the disease, so to speak, and it's not going to go away just because one example of it, Jaune, meets a similar end. A decade in RWBY is already irreparably entrenched in these problems (eg: Ruby has little reason to head this fight whereas Ozpin and Oscar do) and there's no reason to think these problems won't repeat in the future (how important will Theodore turn out to be before the show decides he needs to be killed off too?). Having Jaune sacrifice himself won't achieve anything except passing the writing problem off to someone else and we'll have lost a legitimately good character in the process. He's good because he's been given so much attention over the years and regardless of the issues inherent in that for a show named RWBY, losing him now - at a severely low point when he's spent a lifetime alone, in a story that wants to teach that love and unity will win the day - feels like such a waste.

My Analysis of Mori Ougai, Part One

I'm writing this mostly because I think a lot of people miss the point about him. I've been seeing a lot more character studies and "deep dives" recently but I honestly think many people are too blinded by their hatred of him to see the full picture. I'm not out here claiming I'm an unbiased person, but I've spent quite a lot of time thinking about him and his actions, so here's what I've come up with.

Mori Ougai does everything for Yokohama. Every decision he makes is for the greater good. He doesn't care about what happens to himself, the people close to him, or anything like that. The greater good is all that has ever mattered to him.

We first see this through his usage of Yosano to try to create the Immortal Unit. The "Greater Good" in this case was abilities being used in warfare by the Japanese. The Great War had been brought down to a single island with "primative battle[s] fought in close combat." Both the manga and anime describe how in this war, the Japanese are losing, badly. They're outnumbered and outgunned, and they don't even have the firepower to reach a trench close enough to theirs to be called "mocking."

Mori wants to prove that special abilities are useful in war, which would greatly assist the Japanese in winning if more ability users were drafted. His own ability, Elise, while strong (ish) would not be helpful in this case. We've already seen that she can be destroyed (Fukuzawa and Mori's fight during the cannibalism virus arc) and while it seems she can be remade, not much is known about the specifics of that. Elise, since her destruction, has only been seen once. Besides that, since she has been destroyed, it's an easy enough conclusion to come to that the firepower the European side had would be enough to kill her.

Therefore, Mori needed an ability that would not only prove to the Japanese government that abilities were worth something in a fight, but also win the battle of Tokoyami Island. Those two things go hand in hand, but they're not the same. Winning the battle would prove to the Japanese government abilities were worth something in battle, but only if the battle was won using an ability. And, in my opinion, a singular ability. He meant to show the government just how powerful one ability can be.

There's where Yosano came in. One person can be injured in battle, and killed. Even an ability user. But Yosano, who can keep a whole squadron alive forever? She was the ultimate weapon. Nevermind her age, nevermind her willingness, she was the key to the Greater Good. So he used her. It's cold, ruthless, and wrong, sure, but in a war? Wars do not care for wrong, ruthless and cold.

That's not to say that he wasn't affected by the war, though. During young Yosano's introduction, he's seen smiling and joking. Although it may not have come across that way in the English translation, the lines where he calls Yosano "his" is teasing. He ends his sentence in "だよ" which is the informal or friendly ending to a sentence. (Fun fact! adding "よ" after "だ" is like adding a "you know?" to the end of your sentence, so even more friendly.)

((Also… don't take "My Yosano" out of context. Yosano is described as a "sponsored medical student." Mori is her sponsor, most likely. She's his student and responsibility. That's all ya weirdos.))

When Yosano starts breaking down, Mori also has a personality shift. He goes from finding her antics cute, to being even colder and more ruthless. He went from threatening the soldiers to shooting one of them in the stomach. He was, at this point, obsessed with getting his Immortal Regiment to work. It doesn't, and while we don't really see how that affects him, it's a probable cause to his wanting to get Yosano back after the war, and subsequent fight on the rooftop with Fukuzawa.

Now, let's move onto the Underground Clinic Arc. While this arc is very short, it's another look into his what he's willing to do to achieve his goals. I mentioned at the very beginning his self-sacrificial nature. This is proven when he allows himself to be captured and beaten up by a group. Their goal was to get information out of him, and he knew that it would happen. Still, he allowed it to happen because he wanted to know where their base was so he could launch "retribution and [a] counter attack". He did this while putting himself at great risk.

(Alternatively, he could just be a masochist.) ((this is a joke ignore this))

That too was for the Greater Good, although this time, the Greater Good was acquiring a reputation as both a reputable underground doctor and as someone who knew everything. Both of which would be required to become the Port Mafia Boss' doctor, which was his "in" to becoming Boss himself. In doing that, he fulfilled his part of the Tripartite Tactic, which assured a safer city.

As for being the Port Mafia Boss, he does it well. He secured a successor, someone he could train from a young age to be the next Boss, leading him to continue keeping the city safe in the way the Port Mafia does best. He secured loyalty, which is one of his greatest strengths, in almost every single member of the Port Mafia. Every Mafia member we've interacted with so far has an incredible respect for Mori, barring Dazing, of course.

Even with Dazai, I'd argue he respects him.

I've heard people say that Oda was Mori's great failing and I disagree. Mori did know exactly what he was doing in killing Oda. There were two possible outcomes to the scenario: Oda dies, killing Gide in the process, the Port Mafia gains the Gifted Business Permit, and Dazai toughens up, learning that nothing but the Greater Good mattered, or Oda dies, killing Gide in the process, the Port Mafia gains the Gifted Business Permit, and Dazai leaves, too "soft" to be the next Port Mafia boss.

All for the Greater Good.

He took an organization, which was, for all intents and purposes, a terrorist group, and turned it into one of Yokohama's protectors. Yes, he is a bad person. His individual morality is horrifically dark. However, as a leader, he does what is best for the organization and city.

Everything for the Greater Good.

Some things that Morse doesn't know about Thursday in s9 of Endeavour (and may in fact never find out).

(Spoilers behind the cut, also CW references to child abuse, alcoholism, violence, and a mention of elder abuse.)

that Thursday taking the job in Carshall was Bright's idea, not Thursday's, and that Thursday needed to be talked into it by Bright specifically because he knew he'd be leaving Morse behind and was unhappy about this for both their sakes. (Honestly I adore Bright and I think he was right to do this, and right in gently encouraging Thursday in s8 to let Morse move on and grow away from them all, but it is still an important distinction!)

that Thursday missed him achingly when he was away (although I think that scene late in 9.1 makes it clear that Thursday would have told him if he'd thought Morse could cope with it... ;-)).

that Sam had a dishonorable discharge, which the family are covering up not because they're ashamed of him, but because they want to protect him.

the full extent of how unwell Sam is and how much this is manifesting in behavioural problems (although Morse has noticed a fair amount of this and knows something is extremely up, but the full degree of it, and how badly it's affecting the whole family? I don't know). Thus, the extent of exactly how desperately worried Thursday is.

that Thursday is a child abuse survivor, specifically of physical abuse from an alcoholic, and that this is his first time in adulthood sharing his home with an angry alcoholic who is (now Thursday is older and Sam in something like his prime, alcohol aside) physically stronger than he is.

(the punch at Strange's stag do is so much more upsetting in that context, I note, as is Thursday's instinctive placation. There's paternal kindness and loyalty and generosity in that moment, but I think there's an old trauma reaction too; it read to me awfully like an emotional flashback. It is extremely fortunate that Sam is very decent indeed deep down, seems shocked by his own action, and is doing better by the end of the episode. Sam is one of two men (the other being Morse) that I would not trust Thursday to even try to defend himself against.)

that Thursday finally gave into Lott's blackmail over Blenheim Vale at the point that Morse's life was threatened. When he talks about the pressures via "family"... he meant Morse, not just Win, Joan, Sam, Charlie, and (arguably) Strange. There were a range of threats, but that seems to have been the final straw, especially as it was the most explicit.

the phone call Thursday got from Ronnie Box trying to encourage him to get out of the situation (and Thursday refusing; he may have taken a while to talk into the new Blenheim Vale investigation but he wasn't going to abandon it once committed until it was that or let people he loved get killed; when the threat was only against himself, nah, nothing doing).

that Lott tried to kill Charlie, and Thursday still doesn't know where Charlie is; what Charlie's done to Thursday is horrible but still, yikes.

that Thursday was dreadfully worried about Morse at the wedding (that's Word of Roger, rather than in the script, mind you, but it would be extremely out of character if he hadn't been).

Morse does go through an awful lot in series 9, but the sheer fricking trauma conga line of Thursday's life in that series, all while he's trying to pretend everything's just fine... ouch.

None of it justifies Thursday's serious fuck-ups and wrongs in 9.3 of course! But I think it's absolutely crucial not to see Thursday entirely through Morse's eyes at any point in s9, because there's such a lot that Morse doesn't know, and for the first time Morse is liable to be far too harsh on his old mentor, not too gentle on him. Thursday is not okay at any point in series 9, and seems to spend the whole of 9.3 breaking down.

(I hope it goes without saying that I am very much of the opinion that Thursday should have told Morse at least some of all this!! But I find it very understandable that he didn't, especially as mostly he wasn't protecting himself, but Sam. Gaaaaah it's all so tragic!)

(Yep, I know I keep saying this, but I actually would find it deeply out of character for both Shaun Evans' Morse and John Thaw's Morse to reject Thursday and even his memory entirely for what happened. Even with the v limited data he knows. Protecting him by never talking about him to anybody while sharing a detailed (if perhaps coded) correspondence with him for the rest of the time they're both alive? Infinitely more likely. And can't you just see Thaw's Morse being that leeetle bit silently smug about still being closer to Strange's father-in-law (or possibly ex-father-in-law) than he is. ;-) )

OK so. Technap, that eventually becomes Dreamnonap upon more demons that Aspens decided to attack me with:

The conception of the AU was that Sapnap, wanting to learn about Dreams location/weaknesses/etc., goes to Techno to practice sparring, also hoping that he can learn some fighting techniques to use against Dream. He of course doesn't say that when asking Techno to spar, because Techno has very clearly made his allegiances regarding Dream clear: that's his best friend. So Sap is going with the Friendly Sparring Every Week To Improve Myself Option.

The result is: Techno absolutely wipes the floor with Sapnap, is extraordinary tight lipped about his dearest bestie, and Sapnap is really, really gay

When Aspens specifically talked about their relationship he described it as "a bond" and incited some level of not just romantic implications but platonic ones as well

Their Bond Grew, This Potential Bond

Which makes it really compelling. And also I think Sapnap is gay for a man who can beat his ass. It's a ruse at first but Techno's just charming, and ultimately Sapnap is a determined person, and I think Techno appreciates that

Slowly slides them together

And then of course while they're having a hot drink, Sapnap admits that Hey Actually This Was The Initial Reason I Came To Spar With You, But It Isn't Anymore

And Techno sits there's and untangles that complicated fuckery of "I was sortve used sortve not, to get to my bestie, and there were some bad intentions there that I can relate to, and oh god I have to find a way to respond to this he's looking at me like I have to respond"

And Sapnap assumes he's fucked everything up and just. Leaves. Thinks that no only has he lost his past bond with Dream, but he's lost any chance at a new bond with Techno.

Because he's started to accept, after spending time with Techno who pushes only a positive narrative of Dream, that maybe he's fucked up with Dream a little. Just a tiny bit.

And now he's just. Alone. Fuck.

And he doesn't come to their next sparring session that week. And Techno mopes about that until Phil pushes him out of the house to go talk to Sapnap

They're both really good at communicating

Totally

They promise

Techno totally didn't watch Sapnap leave after saying all that and just assume his silence would be fine

He's normal and good at feelings

But after Techno goes and searches the smp, and finds Sapnap when Enderboo shows up and directs him over to the area,

And Sapnap assumes Techno is here to kill him. His facial expression looked vaguely murder-y before Sapnap just up and left, and he Is carrying a big fuck off sword.

But they sort of talk. Badly. They figure it out and they're not good at communicating but they're sparring together again and sort of dating maybe???? Listen

They flirt and and clearly have Something going on but neither of them could tell you what it is

They're dating but neither of them will say dating out loud. There's something wrong with them.

And of course, meanwhile, The Egg Comes Back, and Red Punz is now happening. Dream would like his Punz back, and Technoblade is the most reliable person he has to get them back.

So he treks all the way to the arctic, gets all the way over, and Sapnap Is There

That's Not Normal

Dream messages Techno asking for a safe time to meet, because he has no idea why Sapnap is there, he's trying to avoid an ambush, maybe Sapnap decided to blame Techno for Dream escaping and decided Techno is bad now too???

Except Techno is reassuring him that Sapnap is Fine, Actually. Sapnap isn't hostile anymore. It's all cool. They can all work on taking care of the Egg together! Ignore that Sapnap is still grumbly to Dream and still saying 'I don't like you still this I'm just not gonna go after you anymore'

(Techno: you can't go after Dream, it would make me sad! You wouldn't do that to me right :(((

Sap: … goddamit stop making those eyes at me >:(

Techno: I win )

Sapnap is like, both not hunting Dream anymore because OK Maybe There's More Going On And I Fucked Up A Little

But also because he wouldn't hurt Techno. He is a grumble Panda

But then during a battle, Dream is in danger, and Sapnap protects him, and Now They're Tending To Each Others Wounds and

Dream: you wouldn't have been faulted if I died. No one would have blamed you
