Progress photos for the applique quilt im working on. Im almost positive I've chosen the second worst assembly strategy possible. Right now the whole thing is just incredibly pointy and takes up my entire floor. Technique is -3 out of 10, dont recommend if you enjoy having floor space and not worrying about getting pins in the bottom of your foot

Yall really SHOULDN'T do that, its messed up, im just speaking from my standpoint but hearing stuff like that i wouldn't even Want to update anymore or announce wips or anything with all this "when is it coming out? can i sleep? can i do this? is it coming out soon?" i mean asking for WIPS of the comic seems fine but asking when its coming out bc its affecting you is wild. and not good. imagine what type of stress that is on a person to know that people arent taking care of themselves until the comic comes out.

idk it feels like some of yall dont know how to act. this comic is a passion project if anything. it just seems. so unhealthy and offputting to deal with this from an audience. idk.

Nostalgia for yesteryear

Well, the Tumblr Booper-Fool's Day is very, very appropriate for the userbase. However, I more than a bit nostalgic for the crabs. Do-it-yourself it is, then!

This is a mix of top-stitching and applique techniques that might not go over very well in a formal quilt competition, but all my work is for home use only. I stitch according to my fickle heart.

fabric people. for my quilt coat where i'm using largely wool suiting (cut out of suits) for the patchwork + silk batting (for more flexible drape)... what's a good move for lining. note i am in a mediterranean climate and i love to layer so warmth is not a huge priority. i have a bunch of flannel in the stash but judging from another project it pills easily. is this a linen occasion? ? ? please weigh in.

once you've committed to a Hubris Project (especially one without any deadlines) there's really no going back. just asked myself "Do I really want to hand-embroider hundreds of individual salt grains as a background texture?" but like. yes. the answer is yes. I already sewed two thousand triangles. nothing can stop me now.
