Design notes:

oooooh my god I'm so happy I finally got to draw the super tall monster high heels on someone!! Vil was by far, the character I had the most references saved for. I gotta say, the main inspiration to me was actually Vil's overblot form, probably my favorite design in game, mixing a bit of the religious references it had, I thought of a fallen angel for his scare-itage! I almost went with vampire, inspired on Elissabat's character, but I want to avoid as much as possible repeating the types of creatures the twst cast will be in this AU, and the vampire idea is reserved for a very obvious someone else from diasomnia!

The cons of having too many visual references and inspirations is that it's so difficult to choose only one outfit for the final version. I searched a lot of inspiration in drag, and the ones that clicked with my idea the most were some stuff Pabllo Vittar and Gottmik wore (I'm obssessed with them, you have no idea), if you squint you can see I loosely based Vil's makeup look on Gottmik's lol

There's also the two different patterns I made for Vil's dress. Neither of them were what I originally had in mind, turns out stained glass art is pretty difficult to replicate, but for now I judge these two look decent enough? I struggled to choose only one of them to put on the official character sheet, and I just went with the one on the right because it took longer for me to draw it 😭 you can consider both of them "canon" I guess? I don't think I have a preference between the two

Lore-wise I don't have any really relevant or detailed notes. Vil's personality and backstory pretty much remains the same, I think it fits in this universe as well. I could add to the story that the real reason he doesn't use his wings is because angels lose parts of their supernatural powers once they are cast out of heaven, but Vil prefers not to admit it. Also I think it would be fun if their actual angel form was one of those otherworldly cool burning wheels while this one is baisically just a cloak, for practicality, you know?

I RETURN BEARING DOODLES OF ZE KEIK!

Hello again! :D I felt like drawing Keiki because I had nothing else to do and I also wanted to draw Keiki again because C R E A T E !

{Artists Note}:

So I had some ideas bouncing around for how I wanted to draw Keiki, and the first time I went with a more robotic look that was inspired by BoTW. I also wanted an excuse to try out some stuff with collages, and so I used an 1800s drawing of a skeleton to put this together. I added a face and a head just for fun, but tbh I wasn't 100% happy with it even though I did like how it looked. I might wanna save the BoTW inspired parts for a future Okina design as I think the constellation motiffe some BoTW Sheikah stuff has fits her more (and I have adopted the headcanon that she has prosthetics, I love it so much).

Like ok, context for this is headcanons. So as I mentioned in my post about Eirin, I wanted to play around with the visual idea of gods in Touhou being very much related to what they're gods of.

So at first with Keiki I tried just making her look like a haniwa herself, but I ended up not going with that as I like the idea of her being distinguishable from the Haniwa she creates. So instead, I ended up going with a more cyberpunk aesthetic for her, inspired in part by Cyberpunk Edgerunners (no spoilers plz, I haven't finished it yet). It's also the reason why I did an alternative cyberpunk outfit for her (inspired by a dress I found on Pinterest).

I feel like the hardest things about drawing Keiki are her dress and hair bandanna. In the image above with her normal outfit, I had a lot of struggle with the sleeves, and I couldn't really get her hair bandanna right. In the faces I drew of her I had a slightly easier time, but still, it's hard to get it to look right. However in the alt design I gave her I somehow managed to make it look right??? Don't know what I did there but I actually like how it looks, so I'll keep what I did there in mind for the next time I draw her.

Speaking of her alt design, it was actually a lot of fun for me to do. I imagine that's her more "official" outfit, don't know what she'd where it for but I mainly drew it on her because i had a cool idea ok?

Also, on the day I drew her initial face render, I had watched Serial Experiments Lain and I think those vibes bled into the sketch version. Upon further inspection of the rendered and coloured version it kinda lost that but it's more to try out a different brush for my style.

Also also, I experimented with giving her earrings! Which didn't make it to the final cut, but still wanted to try it out! This also came as a learning experience on what makes Keiki look like Keiki... it's the hair bandanna, every time she doesn't have it, she doesn't look like herself.

To end it off, I think the unhinged Keiki face I drew for her expressions (since everyone I've been drawing recently has kinda all been lookin like varitations of this face -> (o _ o) gonna need to draw more expressions period actually, need practice on that) is now my favourite unhinged Keiki face I've ever drawn LOL. Expect more Keiki sketches in the future because I do love drawing my beloved blue haired blorbo.

✧Or maybe an author, or a librarian, or a poet- point is! You love to write and create this silly funny stories for all of your friends to see.

✧Some fun concepts for a character like this could be a bee cause spelling bee! Or a mouse because library mouse (or just whatever you like)

✧We know in the show there was storybook sections. I think a lot of these would be narrated and a lot of times even created by you!

✧I can picture your segment starting with the camera focusing on you reading or writing, then inviting the viewer to follow the story along. As you may imagine for a kids show they all had a neat message at the end.

✧Oh, and another resident smarty pants! I can think of some chapters or scenes where you teach spelling and grammar. "No, is not t-h-e-y-r-e, they're birthday, but t-h-e-i-r, their birthday!" (or maybe like me you suck at spelling, so ignore this lol)

✧For outfits i can suggest plaid pattern, glasses, a vest or maybe a cardigan! You can either go for a well put together smart little guy or a mess of a bookworm (that's like a scale on my head.)

✧Sally and you could be good friends now that i think about it! She loooves to make her friends perform her plays and you're just the perfect helper for that.

✧Maybe appear with Frank as well, I think he could borrow books if you have a library or even have a little book club with other neighbors :]

✧Oh you appear to help when he's teaching arts and crafts!

✧If you're big into reading, or trying to publish a book or any other sort of thing then you would see Eddie pretty often because he would always have a package or letter for you.

✧He's a bit of a forgetful klutz so you always make sure to help him a little by organizing a calendar for him! Writing down stuff you know for sure he'll forget.

✧Yes it makes him a little bit embarrassed to say the least but he's infinitely grateful of your help.

✧Every single morning in his usual route if he has the time, he always goes past your house to say hello and catch up on what you have been writing! Eddie is interested in the story you have and always listens to it with so much focus, almost as if you were telling him the hottest latest gossip of them all.

(help my poor soul im getting into an art block. eddie someday i will make you justice i promise.)

✧Or maybe you walk with him a little to accompany him. Just a heads up! Be ready to catch him when he inevitably falls because of some marbles julie forgot to pick up, a plastic duck (Barnaby- pick up your trash!) or just because!!

✧But is all worth it at the end of the day. Eddie always has time for you and your rambles. Only problem is he likes everything you write so he's not the best person if you're searching for criticism!

✧As the most prominent character of the series the plot follows Wally, and that's a way you two end up talking so much for a starters.

✧Any time Wally is staring at his canvas with no idea of what to draw he thinks "Well, they surely will have an idea" and go search for you (that is if you're not already there).

✧Thinking about how many chapters could follow the formula of you and Wally brainstorming ideas for a story, with him drawing what you narrate (and we come back to the storybook sections of the show!)

✧He would ask you "what are you doing today, neighbor?" to which you respond that you are writing about something! He asks what, you respond, he asks for more context of your story and- well now you're infodumping to him telling him all about what you have so far.

✧Oh but he would definitely be the type to draw your characters because "they are a lot of fun".

✧Picturing calm afternoons consisting of the two of you doing parallel play and every so often showing the other your progress <3

Can you write demon Ryu getting in a territory fight with another demon over Rin? (Funny and scary at the same time, like a cat fight lol) Set durring cram school, and Ryu being a type of demon you haven't written about before <3

Ryuuji had kept it a secret since he was little. As much of a secret as he could keep it, which had not been much of one in recent months.

Konekomaru and Renzou knew, of course, because there was no hiding it from them. They'd grown up together as family, and he'd simply been too young to hide it for a while.

He was certain Lewin suspected as well, mainly because his master was eccentric enough to think it and observant enough to notice the hints Ryuuji wasn’t quick enough to hide.

He’d almost given it away to everyone in Kyoto the first time, and he knew he’d given it away with the reaper, but thankfully Rin’s flames had existed and kept Rin from realizing Ryuuji had frozen the reaper when it was trying to bite Rin, and Rin’s flames got the stupid demon to back up.

He often wondered if it was why Amaimon had gone for his throat that first time.

Izumo figured it out when they were in the lab being surrounded by zombies, which meant at this point, Rin and Shiemi were probably the only ones that didn’t know. No one knew what Takara knew, and Yukio had probably figured it out in that closet.

The rest of them finding out didn’t bother him, but Rin finding out worried him. For a lot of reasons. He didn’t want to be judged for what he was, and he didn’t want Rin getting weird around him. He wanted Rin to see him, and not that.

Despite trying to hide that secret and be normal around Rin, Ryuuji struggled hiding the most around Rin. He’d struggled since the beginning, and he had deluded himself for a while that it was because Rin was a nephilim too and drew that part out of Ryuuji, but…

Truthfully, it was because everything about Rin drew Ryuuji in, and the demon part of himself was not content with Ryuuji’s decision to not do anything about his massive and distracting crush on Rin.

He was blaming the demon entirely for why they were here. Kinzou’s concerts were fun enough with ear plugs, but any kind of concert was always a bit of a risk for him.

A siren couldn’t exactly sing without side-effects.

Rin had come up to him with that toothy (fangy) grin and those big blue puppy dog eyes, and Ryuuji had gotten lost in them and come back to himself to find he’d agreed to going to a concert with Rin and the others.

Now he was standing shoulder to shoulder with Rin and Konekomaru, and thanking the Myōō that Kinzou was loud and trying not to look at Rin in his punk outfit. The white fitted jacket and the hoodie were very Rin, but the leather gloves and the ripped slacks with chains were another touch, and the blue studs in Rin’s ears were devilish and Ryuuji was entirely convinced they were there solely to break him.

Rin was bouncing in place and singing happily (but not very well.) His hand caught Ryuuji's sleeve and shook his friend with an excited noise.

He tugged and called, “sing with me!”

He was high off the energy around them and Ryuuji seemed distracted. Rin would pull him out of it.

Ryuuji’s eyes went wide and a small noise that was not a squawk left him. Thankfully it was entirely swallowed by the volume of the crowd.

“Sing?” He mouthed at Rin. Ryuuji couldn’t sing. Singing was a problem for him.

Rin's eyes lit up at the surprise in Ryuuji's eyes. It was fun to draw out that expression.

“Sing! You don't need to sing good!” Rin comforted if that was the issue.

Ryuuji’s problem was the opposite. He sang a bit too well.

Konekomaru bumped him with his elbow as Kinzou went back to the chorus of BRS.

Ryuuji’s eye twitched as he tried to think what to do. He could fake it with most anyone else, but Rin with his stupid (attractive) demon hearing would know he wasn't singing because he could pick out voices despite the overwhelming volume of the music.

“Just like aria class,” Konekomaru whispered around a cough.

Ryuuji glanced at him and did not glance at Rin and his big eyes and locked his gaze back on Kinzou who was bouncing around the stage with more energy than anyone should have when they were growling out their lyrics like that.

Just like aria class. Ryuuji could keep the magic out.

The first few notes didn’t make the world end, so Ryuuji let himself sing a little louder. He did like this song.

Rin's next bounce was a little too high as he gave an excited fist bump and sang with Ryuuji. His tail was wagging wildly and he really might ignite. (But if he did that, Kinzou might haul him up on stage because his flames were cool to the Shima.)

A particularly high jump had Ryuuji stupidly looking over, and his useless heart gave a hard thump at the obvious excitement Rin had. He’d never met someone who just felt so strongly about every moment and let himself really feel his excitement without hesitating even though he had every reason to with the flames. Even his tail was out there for everyone to see.

He sang a bit louder and a bit more earnestly, hardly noticing himself starting to lose control of his voice.

He wanted to dance and sing like that with Rin. (And maybe a bit more.)

Rin liked Ryuuji's voice. It was better than Rin's. He could actually carry a note.

Rin sang louder with Ryuuji and he could hear other voices too!

Ryuuji let himself start to move a little with the music, feeling the pull of it and not watching his voice like he should.

The music swelled louder around them as Kinzou’s song reached its climax, and the audience was dancing and jumping and moving together, and Ryuuji was singing the lyrics at full volume as the song ended.

Rin gave the loudest sort of cheer and he beamed at Ryuuji. He didn't look worried or grumpy or distracted anymore and Rin called that a win!

Ryuuji's singing voice was great too!

“Your voice is beautiful!” A voice was drawing Ryuuji’s attention momentarily from Rin, and at some point when he hadn’t been looking, he’d gotten himself surrounded by people. Mostly girls, though there was a boy too.

His eyes shot to Konekomaru in alarm who gave a tired sort of nod.

“Please,” the second one asked, pushing in and reaching to grab his arm, stepping on Renzou’s foot to do it. “Please, can I have your number?”

“No! Give me your number!”

“Can I have a dance?”

“Can I record you singing?”

Rin's face changed from his elated excitement to pure annoyance as he grabbed onto Ryuuji's arms (gently!) and pulled him back.

“He's shy! Go away!” Rin hissed, obviously annoyed. “You can't just crowd people.”

Especially not Ryuuji!

Ryuuji’s eyes shot to Rin in brief confusion (and something excited about that defensive tone) and Konekomaru stepped between them with that distraction to quickly (and quietly) speaking a mantra to stop the bewitchment.

“We’re in a crowd,” the boy growled, “you can’t stop—”

The mantra took affect and the crowding teens backed up, looking confused as Rin pulled him further away. Izumo and Renzou had closed in on his other sides, keeping them back.

Next time Ryuuji got invited to a concert, he was going to say no, distracting blue eyes or not. He was a siren, and singing had consequences. A lot of them.

..That’s.. That’s a good point.

I’ve noticed recently that I’ve been trying very hard to get all these projects done, but I just cant seem to get past this writers/artist block.. Ingo and Emmet part 3, my FNAF AU, the Rosalina comic.. all of it has just felt really draining. I think its because I’m turning these projects into work, instead of a fun hobby.

I actually was working on the Petey Piranha comic last night, but I just couldn’t get past the sketching stage. So I took a break to draw what ever I wanted and.. I had a lot of fun.

I think I’ve overwhelmed myself thinking I have to do all these projects and get them done quickly for.. what ever reason. And its made art really draining.

I think I’m gonna take all of my projects (aside from my FNAF AU) and just. Put them on the shelf for now. I’ll draw them if I ever feel like it.

I had planned that he could eat a fire flower and spit out a fire ball, but I later took away that ability. Yoshi ain’t got no fire powers :(

They do exist, and Bowser does care about them.. but he doesn't show it as much as he does in canon. He’s a lot more stern and ruler like. A lot less touchy feely you know?

The idea is that the 1-UP mushroom has fully left Mario’s body. So any effects or pain he experiences all lies in his trauma related to the incident.

Now, if Luigi were to die and be revived by a 1-UP? It would be the same. If the experience was traumatic and he suffered a horrible injury, he would probably deal with phantom pains too..

For most of them I just referenced clothing that relates to the attraction/style they have in the game.

For Chica I looked up kids rock star costumes and took reference of what I thought looked good. For Bonnie I looked up old vintage bowling ally shirts and referenced the one that looked closest to his canon shirt. For Foxy I referenced pirate coats and costumes. For Monty I looked up old golfing outfits and picked out aspects that I liked and mixed it with punk/rock and roll. For Roxanne I referenced punk rock I think..? And old racing fire suits.

For Freddy though I mostly made it up.. but I looked at a bunch of different artists that made redesigns for Freddy and tried to capture the vibe of the ones I liked. Mostly the collar on his coat was something a lot of those artists drew-

For Gregory I just gave him a new outfit based on the story. When he went back to the Pizzaplex his clothes were dirty and worn.. so Freddy went and got him new clothes from one of the gift shops. So I went to google and referenced the sweaters and clothes you find throughout the game and gave him stuff that looked similar. Hope this helped! :}

There is! But its not that deep don’t worry-

When I was designing my sona, I wanted something on my hands. At the time my hands were covered in Band-Aids due to cat scratched and dry/cracked skin. So I thought hey! I could have bandaged hands! So I added them.

They also work if you call them my “artist hands” lol-

Oh he’s in the AU, he’s probably one of the smaller gorilla types that just kind’a vibes and does old man stuff. He probably has to eat the sweeter fruits though because his jaw isn’t so strong anymore. Much to his dismay..

She didn’t cause any problems per say, the Toads didn’t even know she existed. Although she does create these shooting stars every time she comes to the planet.. but that doesn’t bother the Toads either, In fact they celebrate them. So the toads have no issue with Rosalina.

Also she apologized to Mario and Luigi for “disturbing” them because they heard her crying and they went to investigate. :(

I don’t actually have a specific name that I tag my AU under.. but if you were to search “mario” in my blog search you’ll find just about every Mario related post I’ve ever made. AU and not AU.

The reason why Mario experiences phantom pain is because his first death was very traumatic for him. So whether or not he experiences phantom pains with his future deaths all depends on how he died, and how it effected him mentally.

Same goes for Luigi. If he dies a horribly painful/traumatic death.. he’ll likely experience phantom pains too..

There was a comic planned for how they met him actually.

They got lost in the woods and stumbled upon King Boos mansion. Like an idiot Mario goes in and Luigi follows. They both ended up getting tormented and pranked by the Boos. They were separated at one point but then met back up on the second floor. Mario sees a fire flower in an old flower pot and grabs it.

Then, all the windows and doors slowly shut. Some of the lights come on and Mario and Luigi follow them. They follow the lights down the hall, down the stairs, through the main room and wind up led to the front door..

The front door is wide open. Mario and Luigi walk out.. only for the door to slam shut behind them. Locking them out.

Mario harnessing a fire flower was so bizarre, so impossible! That King Boo knew he was outmatched against him. So King Boo just silently let them out of the mansion without a fuss.

I’m not sure how they would react to the Koopalings, but I imagine they wouldn't hurt them. It doesn’t take a genius to tell that the Koopalings are just kids..

As for their behaviors.. I think its close to the canon interpretations, except for Ludwig and JR. I had planned that Ludwig was going to be much bigger and more stern like his pa. Because he is the heir to the throne.. but then google told me that Roy is the oldest so there goes that plan-

For JR though his plans stick. JR is supposed to be smaller and younger. More like a toddler then a kid. He’s the youngest and the one Bowser is most protective of.

As for if anyone will find Gregory.. I haven’t planned if anyone will or who it will be. Although it will likely be Chica or Monty.

Since Chica is so close to Freddy, she is bound to find out about this entire child that he has kept secret-

As for Monty.. I liked the idea of Gregory hiding for some reason.. and he calls for Freddy through his fazwatch in a panic. After a few minutes he hears big thumping plasticky foot steps approaching. He comes out of hiding thinking its Freddy..

But it was Monty.

If Bowser had gone straight for Luigi, first of all he would have to land a fatal blow twice. Because the power of the Ice Flower would Protect Luigi from one big hit. That’s actually why Mario died in one shot. Because the Fire Flower had just run our of power.

But anyway- after loosing the ice flower and getting hit? Luigi would just die.. and stay dead. Only Mario had consumed a 1-UP mushroom at that point..

I imagined them as these strange monsters that live in the woods. They don’t work for Bowser, or Peach, they just do their own thing. I also imagined them to deal with dark magic and rituals and stuff.

Wanna hear how Mario and Luigi first met one?

The plan was that the bros and Yoshi were exploring when they found a shy guy with its leg caught in a tree root. Mario carefully approached to try and help.. but the closer he got. The longer and more deformed the shy guy became.

Yoshi ended up snatching them both up and running away. Mario mysteriously had a fever that lasted for a few days after that..

My favorite character? Oooo that’s a good question. There’s a lot to choose from.. but one of my favorites is Hal Monitor. Always love it when he’s on screen XD

I actually like stupid Mario sometimes, he’s pretty funny XD

So far my favorite arc is the lawsuit arc. Mostly because I’m not caught up on the other arcs. The little nuggets of Mario angst/wholesomeness we got in that arc was delicious XD

If the Monkeys were to eat the red beets they would gain more muscle mass overtime. But its not a matter of them not being able to eat them, they just don’t like them.

The blue fruits are very sweet and juicy, and the beets are dry and bitter. The kongs that like bitter flavors eat the beets and grow to be huge. and overtime they develop a dislike for sweet tastes. And vice versa.

Compiling my german Zip headcanons!

Made These during school, so there‘ll probably be some mistakes as I‘m not supposed to even bring my phone 😝 (update: hi yes I ended up continuing and finishing this at home)

one of my moots lowkey motivated me to do this

Some of these are based off of things I as a german have experienced or heard.

☆ I already mentioned this in another post, but she had her first drink of alcohol free beer at the whopping age of 12.

☆ Curses the ever living shit out people in German whenever she‘s really annoyed.

☆ Sneaks beer into school and only shares it with Oliver, Edward and SOMETIMES Miss Circle (Favorite Student privileges)

☆ I feel like Engel at least speaks German, so when Zip, Oliver and Edward are bullying Claire and Engel (as well, I‘m assuming), she‘d throw in something WILD in German and Engel is kinda like: oh that‘s not.. 😀

☆ LOVES Bernd das Brot

☆ She would totally know "Komm, lass uns tanzen." by HEART (alongside Chip).

☆ Although it‘s rare, she sometimes lets out her German accent. For example, she‘s currently rambling and ends up pronounce the German R

☆ Says digga even if she‘s speaking english. It‘s permanently part of her vocabulary.

☆ Dresses with more drip than your average German classmate 💀💀 and she definitely judges them too

☆ When she was very, very young (like around Chip‘s age which I‘m assuming is like 5), she was a HUGE Bibi Blocksberg and Bibi & Tina fan. Had a lot of merchandise of them that she would NEVER EVER share.

☆ Would purposefully draw the ugliest outfits on the characters from the Top Model Books and put the little sticker clothes that came alongside on to the most brutal and metal characters ever.

☆ Always had Satch pencil cases. Thought they wer boring and drew on them. Free canvas lol.

☆ Loves saying German jokes in English to Edward and/or Oliver bc they make no sense in English.

"Hey, hey, guys. Can I tell you a joke?"

"If it‘s funny, go for it."

Zip, who‘s trying to control her laughing "Okay look, Two Hunters met each other."

"And?"

"They both died." Zip bursts out laughing.

"That makes no fucking sense."

"IT DOES"

☆ I feel like she has a little notebook where she writes a bunch of dumb stuff down, including many, MANY German memes only Germans would get. Meine Mama, meine Tante, der kleiner-

☆ Always has that German candy on stock (only for Chip, the coolest little brother!)

☆ Can open a beer bottle with literally ANYTHING you give her (except if it‘s a weak material, then obviously she can’t.)

☆ Praises German lunch knowing damn well it sucks ass. She only likes it because they got a mini burger and chocolate Santa once in kindergarten.

☆ Finds the raw existence of Frankfurt, Berlin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Bayern so hilarious for no reason

☆ Whenever Engel tries to say something positive in German (idk in what scenario he‘d do this, but imagine he would), she‘d counter react by saying something diabolical in Germany (technically you could count this in another hc I wrote down.. oh well <‚3)

☆ Knows a lot of kid shows, German or not, but always prefers (and often times only knows) the German version of them like; Sofia die Erste, Jake und die Nimmerland Piraten, etc.

☆ makes fun of American food (it‘s so processed okay 😭)

"Haha! Seriously? That Fanta is basically just chemicals! Your stomach will LOVE that chemical burn!"

"Please let me drink in fucking peace"

Hi Rae! I’m the anon that sent those 6 idea prompts that one time. (Ex: R planning a prom for J) I thought of some more I would like to share! Here they are:

R goes to spend Mother’s/Father’s Day with J’s family, even if J can’t make it because of her job. R would of course bring them a gift and she would also be helping them around the house. She wouldn’t want them to do anything, so she is the one that helps set up for the gathering. She loves them and wants to show her appreciation. If J was not there, one of her siblings would secretly FaceTime her to show her what R is doing.

Ever since the Met, R and J make it a tradition to attend red carpet events in matching outfits. They love showing that they are together even though everyone knows. R also does the Will Smith meme with her arms out towards J to bring attention to her beauty. J always blushes no matter how many times R does this.

R thanking J in one of her acceptance speeches. R didn’t think she would win, so she didn’t bother to write a speech. She was so shocked when she heard her name that she couldn’t move, so J had to snap her out of it. Once she is on the stage the only thing she could think about is J, so she just locks eyes with her and thanks her over and over again. J may or may not cry a little.

R has a pool table at her house and one day when J sees it, she asks if R can teach her how to play. (J may or may not know how to play) R says of course and gets excited that J wants to learn because R finds the game fun. R shows J how to hold the pool cue and she is of course right up on her. This was J’s plan all along because she just wanted R close.

R picks up J from the airport one night. She takes her to her home and J tells R to just spend the night at her place. When J goes to her fridge to get something, she sees that it is practically empty because she’s been gone for a bit. R says she’ll just go to the supermarket to pick up some things for her but J doesn’t want her to go alone, so she tags along. They go to a 24/7 supermarket and have some fun in their delirious state (since it’s late and J is sleep deprived). J is sitting in the bed of the cart and R is pushing her around and they are giggling together. R brings J in an aisle that she knows has J’s favorite food without asking J if she wanted it. J realizes and can’t help but to kiss R in the middle of the supermarket. At the end of their trip, R is holding all the bags and J reaches out for R to give her some. R doesn’t realize she wants to grab some bags, so instead she moves all of the bags to one hand to be able hold J’s hand with her other hand.

R surprises J with a bookstore date. Any book that J looks slightly interested in, R makes sure to grab, so she could buy it for her. J is so in her element that she doesn’t really realize that this is occurring. After like the 6th book she turns to see R just holding them all. She is shocked and asks R why she holding all of those. R just says that she wants to spoil her girl.

Messy (but progressively getting better) design notes:

Epel was one of those designs that just clicked instantly with me, I had a vision of the basics I wanted all sorted in my head even before I gathered most reference pics. I don't expect this to happen again to a majority of the remaining cast though 😫

Watching those doll restoration/repainting videos while drawing helped me set the general mood I wanted for him, even though the final result doesn't show much of this inspiration, at least in my opinion... I love the makeup and face painting details these artists put on the dolls, but I was afraid too much of that would make his design too heavy-looking combined with the rest of the outfit. If I ever decide to design alternative outfits for this series, I'll try to show off more of this lost aspect there

For the character in itself now, I imagine him in this AU to be more free to do and act however he wants compared to his og universe counterpart. Still being supervised by Vil, but not in the same level as before. Probably the reason why he got all those scratches and cracks on his body, I like to think he's having a little more fun with being a gremlin and running around all he wants lol. And due to that, his skin care routine baisically consists in Elmer's glue, to stick any broken porcelain shards together. Vil is not exactly content about that, but he lets most of it slide at this point 👍

Epel's totally the type of kid who goes around the gardens to casually collect bugs like he's in animal crossing. Like this video I found on reels, which I don't reccomend watching if you have a phobia of spiders/insects/bugs/snakes/frogs/etc cause, you know. But anyway I think MH Epel holds this exact energy and it's- kinda terrifying! In a good way though. come on let this kid be a kid for once. I also think this more playful part of him fits well with the fact that he's a little doll. OH and the fact that og Epel grew up around the elderly back in his hometown kinda makes sense in this universe too, like, he's the type of doll some grandparents would keep in their old house as a family relic or something. Could very much be the beggining of a horror story.
